A Brief Summary of "Where We Are Now"

After the House voted on December 18th to impeach President Trump on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) held up sending the articles of impeachment over to the Senate.

Citing concerns about the objectivity of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the lack of ability for Dems to call witnesses to testify, she hoped to win concessions from McConnell, but those hopes were dashed when he refused to give in.

When Pelosi defended the delay and warned that senators will "pay a price" if they block new witness testimony, McConnell tore into her saying her delay "produced absolutely nothing". He also chastised her for "her one-woman blockade" of sending the articles to the Senate.

As of last night, the Democrat-controlled House has still not set a time for a vote to transmit the impeachment articles to the Senate. Pelosi will meet behind closed doors with House Democrats to decide next steps this morning, before tonight's Democrat presidential primary debate, the last before the Iowa caucuses February 3rd.

Focus on Israel

1. Report: About 30 Ukrainians rampage, beat Jews in Uman - Israel National News

A group of about 30 Ukrainians attacked Jewish worshipers close to midnight on Friday night in Uman and beat Jews outside the grave of Rebbe Nachman in what was described as a "pogrom".

Witnesses say the Ukrainians were running through the street looking for Jews with knives and clubs in their hands.

One Jew who spent Shabbos in Uman told Kikar Shabbos: "I returned from the kloiz and I see that they're beating every Jew who 'dared' to look at them or say a word to them. It started with an insignificant dispute between one of the local Ukrainians and a Jew. The Ukrainian involved in the dispute called his anti-Semitic friends to come and beat up Jews.

"The police did show up at the scene but didn't lift a finger to help the Jews. They just stood by and watched what was happening, while the Jews were being beaten up. What they did do was prevent the dozens of thugs from entering the tziun."

2. Israel Develops New Lightweight Armor-Piercing Missile - Algemeiner

Israel has developed a new lightweight armor-piercing missile that can be shoulder-mounted and used by infantry forces.

According to the Israeli news site Mako, the Spike SR missile weighs only 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and can strike targets up to two kilometers away.

Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, which developed the missile, believes it will significantly improve land forces' ability to strike enemy targets in tanks and armored vehicles.

The SR is part of the Spike family of missiles that are already used in 34 countries, with more than 33,000 supplied, and operating on multiple platforms including vehicles, helicopters and naval vessels.

3. New Right will not join with other right-wing parties - Israel National News

The New Right party, headed by Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked, announced Monday afternoon that it will run independently in the upcoming elections.

"The New Right will run independently in the upcoming elections as a party of the ideological and liberal right. This is the right-wing bloc's only chance of reaching 61 seats and victory. This is in parallel with the running of a second joint-list by Minister Smotritz, Minister Peretz and Itamar Ben Gvir," the party said.

They also said that internal studies showed that the joint run of the four parties to the right of the Likud in the last election resulted in the right-wing bloc receiving fewer seats than it would have. "We take it upon ourselves to attract voters from Liberman and Blue and White. Both parties must run a fair campaign to bring about the victory of the right-wing bloc."

4. 'The Jews of Iran are in grave peril' - Israel Hayom

The first thing the Jews of Iran did Friday before last, when they heard the astonishing news that commander of the Revolutionary Guards Corps' elite Quds Force Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani had been killed in a US airstrike, was issue sharp condemnations of the American act.

"God will avenge his blood," a message from the Jewish community said.

At the start of last week, representatives of the community arrived at Soleimanis' home to pay their condolences to his family, and took part in his funeral. Those present included Chief Rabbi of Tehran Yehuda Gerami, who even condemned the killing in an interview to state television. We can only guess how afraid the community was that the nation would vent its fury against them.

5. Jordan's king says relationship with Israel is on 'pause - World Israel News

Jordan's King Abdullah has said his country's ties with Israel are on "pause" during an exclusive interview with Marc Perelman of France 24 published on Monday.

The king claimed that the cooling in the relationship is due to the political turmoil Israel is facing after not being able to form a government after two elections.

"We hope that the Israeli people will decide on a government sooner rather than later, and then we can all see how to move forward," he said.

King Abdullah was asked what he meant by saying there will be "severe consequences" if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu follows up with his intention to annex Judea and Samaria.

1. Trump's average unemployment rate is the lowest in recorded history - Washington Examiner

President Trump starts off 2020 having presided over a lower average unemployment rate than any president at a comparable point in office in recorded history.

On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the unemployment rate held steady at a historically low 3.5% in December. Since February 2017, Trump's first full month in office, the monthly unemployment rate has averaged 3.9%. No prior president has averaged less than 4% over the first 35 months of his presidency. The closest was Dwight Eisenhower, when the rate averaged 4.3% between February 1953 and December 1955.

Modern unemployment statistics did not start being kept until 1948, after Harry Truman's first 35 months in office, so this analysis only starts with Eisenhower. Nonetheless, it does point to the unprecedented nature of this consistently low level of unemployment. (Read more)

2. Chief justice to be impeachment 'figurehead' - WND

A legal scholar predicts Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, the constitutionally appointed presiding officer at any impeachment trial, will be a "dignified figurehead" in the proceedings against President Trump.

Frank Bowman, a professor of law at the University of Missouri Law School, said the trial will be "dominated by the Republican senatorial caucus," according to Scotusblog.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, after three weeks of attempting to influence the trial, announced Friday she would forward the articles next week. (Read more)

3. Trump Says He Will Use Executive Privilege To Prevent John Bolton Testimony - Daily Caller

President Donald Trump said in a new interview on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" that he would use executive privilege to prevent former White House aide John Bolton from testifying in an impeachment trial.

"Why not call Bolton? Why not allow him to testify? This thing is bogus. Why not allow Bolton to testify?" Fox News' Laura Ingraham asked in a recent interview set to air 10 PM Friday.

"No problem other than one thing," Trump said. "You can't be in the White House as president, future, I'm talking about future . . . any future presidents- and have a security advisor, anybody having to do with security, and legal and other things but especially."

"Are you going to invoke executive privilege?" Ingraham said.

"Well I think you have to for the sake of the office," the president responded.

Bolton's possible testimony in the impeachment trial of Trump has become the subject of much scrutiny since the probe was opened by Democratic House speaker Nancy Pelosi in this fall. (Read more)

4. Protester Interrupts Elizabeth Warren: 'Why Are You Siding with Terrorists?' - Breitbart

A protester interrupted Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D-MA) town hall in Dover, New Hampshire, on Friday and accused her of "siding with terrorists." An angry protester interrupted Warren on Friday, accusing her of siding with Iran over her position on President Trump's elimination of Iranian terror chief Qasem Soleimani.

"You're siding with racists; you're siding with Iran. What are you siding with terrorists for?" the man yelled. "My grandfather died in World War II. You're a fraud! Disgusting!"

"This is a man who is deeply upset," Warren said.

"He killed 600 Marines," the protester said - a purported reference to Soleimani's role in the death of hundreds of U.S. service members and injuries of thousands more. "We killed a terrorist. Trump is great. You're a fraud. I helped rape victims, and you're lying." (Read more)

5. Carter Page Says FBI's SpyGate Is "Just The Tip Of The Iceberg", Hints At Future Legal Action - ZeroHedge

On the The Sara Carter Show, Page discussed the recent revelations in Department of Justice's Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report and his interview in The Federalist where questions surfaced regarding his first meeting with Stefan Halper, one of the FBI's spies in the Trump campaign.

Questions still loom regarding Halper's and his FBI handler. It appears that Horowitz's report raises more answers than questions, said Page, who was not given the opportunity to review the report or discuss his circumstances with Horowitz. Page, who was an officer in the Navy and graduate from Annapolis Naval Academy, assisted intelligence and law enforcement, said all he ever wanted to was "to help his country."

Unfortunately, Page became the target of some of very corrupted officials within the agencies he had assisted in the past. (Read more)

6. Parents Protest Mandated LGBT Rights Curriculum - Breitbart

New Jersey parents expressed outrage Wednesday over a new state law requiring public school students to learn about LGBT history and rights.

According to a report at NJ Spotlight, dozens of parents lined up to testify in Trenton before the state board of education about the new law that mandates middle and high schools must "include instruction on the political, economic and social contributions (of people in the LGBTQ community) at an appropriate place in the curriculum."

The new mandate was signed into law in February by Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy and is modeled after one in California that requires curriculum to be "LGBT and disability-inclusive."

7. House Democrats Vote Against Recognizing Unborn Babies As 'Vulnerable Populations' - Daily Caller

House Democrats voted against a motion to recognize unborn babies as "vulnerable populations" Friday.

Republican Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers presented a motion to amend H.R. 535, a bill requiring the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to declare certain chemicals as hazardous and take "vulnerable populations" into account when developing drinking water standards.

Rodgers' motion suggested protections for unborn children exposed to these chemicals and aimed to include unborn children in "vulnerable populations."

"Republicans today stood for the most vulnerable among us - the unborn," House Leader Kevin McCarthy told the Daily Caller News Foundation. "It is sickening that Democrats have used their majority to stand with their socialist base rather than with the most defenseless in our society."

Two-hundred-and-nineteen House Democrats voted against recognizing unborn children as "vulnerable populations," including New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Prophetic truth and consequences

The foreign policy of the immediate past US president engineered a destabilization in the Middle East that has resulted in great suffering of humankind as well as advancing the march of end time prophecy. Strategically, that president locked in an irreversible pathway that accelerated world events toward the Ezekiel 38 prophecy where Magog, Mesech, and Tubal (Turkey) leads Persia (Iran), Ethiopia (Sudan) and Libya (Libya) against Israel in the end of times "To take a spoil, and to take a prey (Ezekiel 38:12)." Think about the truth in Arab Spring, assassinating Libya's head of state, promoting the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign policy partner, and sending Iran billions of dollars in cash. Also think about the consequences.

In March 2011, the president ordered the bombing of Libya, and he did not seek approval of Congress to conduct this act of war. Over six months later, on October 24, 2011, The Daily Jot reported that the "man who occupies the Oval Office has claimed victory in Libya, spending about a billion dollars of taxpayer money to topple the Gadhafi regime and replace it with Islamic fundamentalism." Indeed, the US had approved the assassination of Libya's head of state and supported a Muslim Brotherhood-, al Qaeda- and Islamic State-backed military group to do the dirty deed. These actions were not met with outrage by Democrats in Congress or the mainstream media as they are with the current president ordering the assassination of an Iranian terrorist leader. Now Turkey has sent military to Libya to "ensure a legitimate government."

The immediate past president also bolstered Iran's terror-sponsoring activities as well as its nuclear ambitions. On November 25, 2013, the White House announced that it was entering into a deal with Iran to "stop" its nuclear program. The pact was ratified by the Senate in September 2015, empowering the president to complete a deal with Iran that would allow the terrorist state to build a nuclear bomb over the next ten years and pay them over $300 billion to do it-some $1.8 billion in cash arrived in Tehran on a pallet. Iran then ignored the deal, advanced its nuclear development, attacked oil tankers, embassies, killed Americans in Iraq, and fomented terrorism around the world.

As current President Donald Trump stated on January 8, and it is true based on events reported during the previous presidency, "Iran's hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying "thank you" to the United States, they chanted "death to America." In fact, they chanted "death to America" the day the agreement was signed. Then, Iran went on a terror spree, funded by the money from the deal, and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Iraq." These are the true consequences of bad leadership. These events, set in motion by the previous president, are irreversible and will have even deeper prophetic consequences in the years ahead. The prophecy clock advances each day because of them.

A new comet was discovered today, and it's already history. "The first comet discovery of the decade goes to . . . SOHO!" reports Karl Battams of the Naval Research Lab in Washington DC.
