1. Israel reveals major upgrade to Iron Dome - YNET News

The Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) of the Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D) announced on Sunday it has conducted a series of successful trials in southern Israel designed to test a new upgrade to the Iron Dome missile defense system.

The IMDO, which oversees the development and production of multi-layered active defense initiatives against high-trajectory rocket and missile threats, had revealed this significant advancement in Israel's defensive capabilities less than a week after the Defense Ministry unveiled a new revolutionary laser-based air defense system and a decade after Iron Dome's first successful operational testing.

However, the Defense Ministry's statement didn't disclose any details about the nature of the upgrade. "This successful series of trials constitutes an important milestone in the State of Israel's operational defensive capabilities against existing and future threats," read the statement. "These trials tested the system's newly developed capacities in a host of scenarios simulating future threats that the system will face during a confrontation."

2. Nasrallah: Time to avenge Soleimani's death - Israel National News

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah called for Iran and its allies to avenge slain Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, and to begin working on the long-term goal of forcing the US out of the Middle East.

In a televised address Sunday, the Lebanese terror chief accused President Donald Trump of 'lying' about Soleimani, rejecting US claims that the chief of Iran's Quds Force was planning attacks on US embassies.

"Trump is lying to his people," said Nasrallah. "Haj Qassem Soleimani was not planning to blow up American embassies."

Nasrallah called for Tehran and its allies - what he dubbed the "axis of resistance" to take direct action against the US to force American troops out of the region.

3. Israel reportedly attacks Syria-Iraq border, thwarts shipment of Iranian ballistic missiles - Israel Hayom

Israeli aircraft attacked a truck convoy near the Syria-Iraq border in an effort to thwart the delivery of weapon systems to pro-Iranian militias, Arab media reported overnight Thursday. Israel has not commented on the incident.

Eight members of Shiite militia apparently killed in the strike.

According to the reports, the attack took place near the Abu Kamal border crossing, which has reportedly been attacked multiple times by Israel as it is often used to ship arms from Iran to its proxies in Syria.

Witnesses told Arab media that there was a big explosion heard at the site. According to some of the reports, the convoy was carrying ballistic missiles from Iran and other weapons.

4. Netanyahu asks friendly countries to say ICC has no jurisdiction over Israel - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent letters to leaders of friendly states asking for help defending Israel against an International Criminal Court probe of alleged war crimes by saying the court has no jurisdiction in Israel, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed Saturday night.

The US, Australia and - as of Saturday - Hungary have all expressed opposition to the ICC involving itself in a case about Israel and the Palestinians, which is not party to the Rome Statute that established the court.

"Following the outrageous decision by the ICC prosecutor, Israel has reached out to several countries," a government source said. "Many of them have said that they do not agree to the ICC's assault on the principle of national sovereignty, and the ICC has no jurisdiction in the case at hand."

The Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó responded to Netanyahu's call in a letter to his Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz.

5. Blue and White to convene Arrangements Committee - Israel National News

MK Avi Nissenkorn (Blue and White), who chairs the Knesset Arrangements Committee, has summoned the members of the committee to a discussion on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m.

The discussion will mark the start of the efforts to establish a Knesset House Committee which will vote on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's request for immunity from prosecution on pending corruption charges.

Kan 11 News reported that the purpose of Monday's meeting would be to cancel the decision which stated that the Knesset Speaker needs to approve any future discussions of the committee that are scheduled for the Knesset's election recess.

The goal is to try to prevent Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein from further interrupting the promotion of immunity hearings in the Knesset and denying him the authority to intervene in the deliberations.

6. President Trump: Iran Stepped Back from the Brink of War - Bridges for Peace (BFP)

Thursday, 9 January 2020 | Following nearly a week of sabre rattling, screaming bloody revenge and firing a barrage of ballistic missiles on American targets, the Islamic Republic of Iran is apparently backing away from the brink of war. Speaking from the White House Grand Foyer yesterday, US President Donald Trump told the nation in an official address that "Iran appears to be standing down." (Read more)

- Praise the Lord that the Iranian leadership has stepped back from any further action that might lead to all-out war. Pray that US President Trump and PM Netanyahu will proceed with caution yet decisively to keep Iran from achieving its nuclear ambition and stop Iranian sponsorship of terrorist organizations in the Middle East and around the world. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the entire region.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. (Isaiah 30:19)

7. Israel, Greece and Cyprus Ink Landmark Gas Agreement - BFP

Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the joint declarations with the leaders:

"This is a historic day for Israel, because Israel is rapidly becoming an energy superpower, a country that exports energy. "Just days ago, we opened the Leviathan gas field, and it is producing enormous yields. But with the exportation that will become possible via this pipeline, we will be able to provide hundreds of billions of shekels in revenue to the citizens of Israel-for their welfare, for health, for the young people and the elderly, for everyone. This is an extraordinary development.

"I would also like to mention that we signed a supply agreement with our Arab neighbors. This strengthens the peace, the economy and the future.

"This is also a historic day because the cooperation between Greece, Cyprus and Israel is growing stronger. This is a true alliance in the Eastern Mediterranean that is economic and political, and it adds to the security and stability of the region. Again, not against anyone, but rather for the values and to the benefit of our citizens. "We call on any other country that wishes to join us to do so. Italy will be added first, but also Egypt and any other country that is interested in doing so. This will strengthen our alliance. (Read more)

- Praise God for this incredible step forward for Israel. Thank Him for the Leviathan gas fields and the economic and diplomatic relationships being built because of them. Pray that God will protect the fields from attack or terrorism and rejoice that He continues to fulfill promises made to His ancient Land.

And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: "I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you. (Genesis 28:13-15)

8. Sandbags and Storms: Israel Braces for New Bout of Wintry Weather - BFP

Wednesday, 8 January 2020 | Just days after a storm claimed the lives of four people, authorities across Israel are bracing for a new bout of turbulent winter weather, which is expected to begin Wednesday and will continue through the weekend.

Fire fighters, police officers and volunteers will be deployed throughout the country, and police are warning people to avoid using elevators in the event of power outages and flooding.

The Electric Corporation also announced that it is on high alert and has halted disconnections for people who have not paid their bills. It has warned that there is zero chance that the power grid will emerge unscathed from the severe weather. (Read more)

- Pray that the rains will come and water the earth, but that the Lord will protect the Land from turbulent weather. Pray that Israelis will heed the warnings of authorities, and intercede for the emergency workers as they labor to keep people safe.

God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, that they may do whatever He commands them on the face of the whole earth. (Job 37:5, 11-12)

9. Tens of Thousands March against Anti-Semitism in Jerusalem, New York - BFP

Tuesday, 7 January 2020 | Thousands of people from all backgrounds and religions gathered in New York City on Sunday to march across the Brooklyn Bridge demonstrating solidarity with their Jewish neighbors who experienced a dramatic spike of anti-Semitic attacks in December.

An estimated 25,000 from multiple states gathered in support of Jewish people in the region after a horrible spate of December attacks, including a mass shooting outside a kosher supermarket in New Jersey that killed four people, and most recently the violent stabbing of five people during a Hanukkah (Festival of Light) celebration in Monsey, New York. Several Jewish people in Brooklyn's Orthodox neighborhoods also experienced verbal and physical assaults.

Top US politicians, including New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, led the march behind the event's official banner bearing the words "No hate. No fear." (Read more)
- Thank God for the incredible support for the Jewish people shown by the citizens of New York and New Jersey. Pray that Governor Cuomo will make good on his promises to increase protection and classify anti-Semitic hate crimes as domestic terrorism. As anti-Semitism increases globally, pray for the safety of God's chosen people worldwide.

"For he who touches you touches the apple of His eye." (Zechariah 2:8b)

The Daily Brief

1. Breaking News! Top White House official says peace plan could be rolled out before March vote - Times of Israel

A top White House official has said US President Donald Trump's administration will not necessarily wait until after Israel's March 2 elections to release its long-awaited peace plan.

The launch of the so-called "deal of the century" has been delayed repeatedly by the political uncertainty in Israel, which will hold an unprecedented third vote in the span of a single year after two indecisive elections.

"I don't think it necessarily depends on the elections," White House national security adviser Robert O'Brien told the Axios website in comments published late Sunday. "They will have had three elections in a row, we'll have to see." (Read more)

- Father God, we continue to bring all matters regarding this "Deal of the Century" before Your Throne of Grace. We repent, O Lord, on behalf of our President, for any prideful thoughts he may have regarding this deal. We understand that President Trump desires only to bring peace to the nation of Israel, as we do. We ask that any plan to bring peace to that region be done only according to Your will. True peace, Abba, can only come from knowing You. In the Name of Jesus, Yeshua, amen.

- "And Samuel said, 'Speak, for Your servant is listening.'" (I Samuel 3:10)

2. Matt Gaetz to 'War Room': War Powers Resolution a 'Win' for Trump - Newsmax

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., on Friday explained why he broke from most of his party to vote for the war powers resolution, which he called "a win" for President Donald Trump.

"I believe it was a reflection of the true Trump doctrine. I think the Trump doctrine works at its best when we kill the terrorists and come home, and we do not engage in endless forever wars in the Middle East," Gaetz told "War Room: Impeachment," which airs live on Newsmax TV, on Friday morning.

He added, "when you look at some of the folks, particularly in the Senate, who are critical of the resolution, and some of the same folks who are the biggest champions of a lot of these interventionist regime change wars, I am not one who believes that we need another generation of these quagmires, and I also think that we politically cannot allow [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi to cast Donald Trump as the pro-war candidate."

Gaetz later said, "The biggest animating factor drawing our country into a war we didn't want was [Iranian Gen. Qassem] Soleimani. He was doing everything he could to draw our nation into war, and killing him was the right thing to do for that reason."

- Almighty God, we ask that You will promote Donald Trump in the war powers resolution as he is guided by the Lord daily. We pray that through the Blood of Jesus, You will bind the powers that work against him. Strengthen Mr. Gaetz to stand strong with President Trump. Raise our President up to be victorious over all his enemies. In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray.

"Because he has set his love upon the Lord, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high because he has known My Name." (Psalm 91:14)

3. Sleeper cell President? Obama granted citizenship to 2,500 Iranians as part of securing nuclear deal - Raw Conservative Opinions

(Natural News) As tensions ramp up (anew) between the United States and Iran following President Trump's decision to take out Tehran's terrorist mastermind, Al-Quds Force leader Gen. Qassem Soleimani, it's worth remembering all of the things President Obama did to empower that regime at the expense of American security.

Not only was the so-called "nuclear deal" a sham that temporarily postponed Iran's atomic weapons development, but Obama and his chief deputy on the deal, Secretary of State John Kerry, enriched the Iranians and, likely, put Americans at risk.

One of the concerns following the targeting of Soleimani by critics (and some allies) of the president is that the Iranians will retaliate for it at a time and place of their choosing.

Islamic terrorist networks have been in place for years. What most Americans don't yet fully realize is that Barack Obama helped fund these terror networks through a complex international money laundering scheme that delivered over $150 billion to Iran during the Obama administration. At least $1 billion went to fund Iran's nuclear weapons program, with full knowledge from Obama. (Obama also helped Iran capture a U.S. drone and two Navy boats in order to give Iran U.S. military encryption technology.)

- Almighty God, in lieu of all the things that Obama did to empower the Iranians at the expense of American security, we pray that divine intervention from heaven deal with this man and John Kerry. We thank God for saving our country from destruction under their leadership. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

4. AOC riles Dems by refusing to pay party dues, bankrolling colleagues' opponents - Fox News

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has already topped the fundraising charts in her short time in Congress, but the liberal darling won't donate a cent of her millions to Democrats' House campaign organization -- a position that has rankled some of her colleagues, Fox News has learned.

Instead, Ocasio-Cortez is building her own fundraising operation for fellow progressive candidates to bypass the official Democratic Party infrastructure. Already, she's actively funding primary challengers to oust certain Democratic colleagues.

- Father God, thank You for guiding this woman not to donate a cent of her millions to Democrats' House campaign organization. We pray she follow God's will in funding the right people. We pray in Jesus' Name.

"I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in Him will I trust." (Psalm 91:2)

5. Senate Dems Won't Support Measure Praising U.S. Military for Soleimani Killing-Free Beacon

Not a single Democratic member of the Senate has lent their support to a Republican-driven congressional effort to praise the U.S. military and intelligence community members who helped carry out the successful strike that killed Iranian terror leader Qassem Soleimani.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and 42 of his GOP colleagues in the Senate earlier this week forwarded a resolution honoring American military and intelligence community members who helped conduct the raid that killed Iran's chief terror mastermind.

The resolution is structurally identical to the 2011 Senate resolution praising former president Barack Obama for the operation that killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. At that time, all 100 Democratic and Republican members of the Senate joined to support that resolution.

- Father in heaven, we pray that You will send strength and support to the Republican-driven congressional effort to praise the U.S. military and intelligence community members who successfully carried out the strike that killed the Iranian terror leader Soleimani. It was an action that prevented untold millions from being killed by this man. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"Mine eye also shall see My desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up, against me." (Psalm 92:11)

6. Appeals court lifts block on federal funds for border wall; President Trump says construction 'ready to start'-The Blaze

A federal appeals court has lifted a lower court's decision to block federal defense funds the Trump administration plans to use to construct a section of wall along the southern United States border."

The judicial hold on the roughly $3.6 billion was put in place by U.S. District Court judge David Briones of the Western District Texas last month in response to a lawsuit brought by the Border Network for Human Rights and El Paso County. The plaintiffs claim that the president is overstepping his constitutional authority by using a national emergency declaration to redirect defense funding for his border security efforts.

- Father in heaven, we trust You continue to make the funds available to complete the building of the protective wall between the United States and Mexico. Illegal immigration must be stopped. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

7. Abbott says Texas won't accept refugees in 2020-The Gateway Pundit

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the state will not be participating in the federal refugee resettlement program, becoming the first state in the nation to do so. Governor Abbott cited concerns about the border as part of his decision to decline allowing refugees to resettle in the state.

The Texas newspaper Statesman reported on Friday that in a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Abbott said he "cannot consent to initial refugee resettlement" in 2020.

The letter was in response to an executive order signed by President Donald Trump that allows states and local governments to consent before refugees can be resettled there.

- Father God, we ask that you support Gov. Abbott in his decision to decline allowing refugees to resettle in Texas. This is wisdom and we pray Mr. Pompeo will support Gov. Abbot in this decision. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

8. John Huber's Hillary Clinton-Related Investigation Ends with No Criminal Charges and No Interviews!-The gateway Pundit

John Huber, the U.S. attorney in Utah, was tapped in November 2017 by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to look into concerns raised by President Trump and his allies in Congress that the FBI had not fully pursued cases of possible corruption at the Clinton Foundation and during Clinton's time as secretary of state, when the U.S. government decided not to block the sale of a company called Uranium One.

As a part of his review, Huber examined documents and conferred with federal law enforcement officials in Little Rock who were handling a meandering probe into the Clinton Foundation, people familiar with the matter said. Current and former officials said that Huber has largely finished and found nothing worth pursuing - though the assignment has not formally ended and no official notice has been sent to the Justice Department or to lawmakers, these people said.

- Almighty God, we trust You to continue to lead the FBI to fully pursue cases of possible corruption at the Clinton Foundation and during Clinton's time as secretary of state when the government decided not to block the sale of Uranium One. Open up this investigation of Clintons' corruption and unlawful activities during this time. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

"When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed forever." (Psalm 92:7)

9. An Arab affair: Trump daughter falls for Lebanese billionaire heir - Arab News

BEIRUT: US President Donald Trump is going to have to think twice before speaking politics at the dinner table now that his daughter Tiffany is dating an Arab.

Michael Boulos, the son of Lebanese business tycoon Massad Boulos, grew up in Nigeria, where his father runs Boulos Enterprises and SCOA Nigeria, a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate that trades in vehicles, equipment, retail and construction.

Boulos senior is married to the daughter of Lebanese businessman Zouhair Faddoul, whom he worked with before founding his own ventures.

Originally from the northern village of Kfaraakka in Lebanon, Michael moved to London to complete his undergraduate degree after graduating from an elite international school in Lagos.

- Oh my Father in heaven, we cry out to You to save Trump's daughter from becoming involved with a man whose national laws regarding marriage is completely anti-American, and of another religious group whose belief system is non-Christian. Lord God, save her from a blindness that does not see the pitfalls of such a relationship between Americans and those from an Islamic country. We plead and pray for You to deal with her heart. In the Name of Jesus the Christ we pray.

"And what shall it profit a man or woman, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36)

10. U.S. bolsters Kenya base security after Americans killed in attack - Reuters

(Reuters) - The U.S. military deployed additional forces to Kenya on Monday to bolster security at a key airfield after an attack by al Shabaab militants on Sunday that killed three Americans, the military's Africa Command said.

The attack presented Washington with yet another crisis just as the Pentagon grapples with a rapidly escalating standoff with Iran following a Friday U.S. drone strike in Baghdad that killed top Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.

As speculation swirls about how Tehran might respond to the strike, the U.S. military sought to separate the two events, saying: "The U.S. Africa Command does not assess yesterday's attack by al Shabaab is linked to Iran."

- Almighty God, we call out to You for intervention regarding the deaths of three Americans killed in Kenya. Lord, by Your mighty power wipe out the al Shabaab militants group who killed them. "Therefore shall their calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall they be broken without remedy." (Proverbs 6:15)

Islam on the crucifixion and return of Jesus

Islam does not teach that Jesus was crucified. Therefore, the Messiah Jesus of Islam shed no blood for the remission of sins of those who believe. This is an extraordinary difference between the Muslim Isa (Jesus) and the Christian Jesus. The Qur'an Sura 4:158 says, "That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him."

Philippians 2:5-11 says, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name; That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

The return of the Islamic Jesus, Isa, is far different than the return of the true Jesus, the Christ of the Bible. Revelation 19:13-16 speaks of the Christ, "He was wearing a robe that had been soaked in blood, and the name by which he is called is, "THE WORD OF GOD." And the armies of heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

Qur'an Sura 4:159 says, "And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them;- There is not one of the People of the Scripture but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them - And there is not one of the followers of the Book but most certainly believes in this before his death, and on the day of resurrection he (Isa) shall be a witness against them." Several other Sura specifically define the Muslim Jesus as the one who will return and witness against the saints and enlist other Muslims to help him kill Christians and Jews. The next Jot will discuss the similarities between Islam's Jesus and Christianity's False Prophet.

Iran's call to blood informs Islamic vs Christian Eschatology

When we hear rabbis, pastors and imams talking about the Iranian mosque in Qom raising the red flag, we should inform ourselves about Islamic and Christian eschatology. The Islamic Jesus is very similar to the Christian false prophet as found in Revelation 13 that causes the worship the first beast, deceives with miracles, and, among other things, causes those not worshiping the image of the beast to be killed." The false prophet establishes the one world religion and enforces the war against the saints, even to beheading them as found in Revelation 20:4 " . . . and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image."

The Islamic version of Jesus is prophesied to also perform miracles. Sura 3.049 says, "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe." The Islamic Jesus also enforces Sharia Law upon all the unbelievers, Sura 2.050: "'(I (Jesus) have come to you), to attest the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me.'"

The Islamic Isa (Jesus) is prophesied to persecute and kill non-Muslims. Sura 3.050-55, "When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples: "We are Allah's helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims." And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah . . . Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute."

The similarities between the Muslim Jesus and the false prophet are undeniable. Both perform miracles, establish the one world religion, cause and force people to worship the Mahdi (the antichrist/beast), behead those who do not worship as instructed, and enforce the religious law of the time. The Islamic end times is very similar to the Christian end times, except that the Muslim Mahdi is like the Christian antichrist/beast, and the Muslim Jesus is like the Christian False Prophet. So when you see the red flag being risen over the mosque in Qom, Iran, and all the references to the end times, you now have an idea of Islam's eschatology, and why it is lethally dangerous to Jews and Christians. Yes, we are all targets as the fearful politicians say, but we are also vessels of the one true GOD. Not victims, but victors! Not fearful, but fearless. Live as such!

Honoring William Lee

Honoring William Lee:

A Video Obituary

The life of William Lee was honored this past weekend at a beautiful memorial service, held at Leesburg Community Church. The crowd that packed the church that day included many heads of prayer ministries familiar to us all.

In place of a deep sense of saddened mourning, there was instead a quiet honoring and a celebration at the memory of a life lived for Christ. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," was on the lips of many.

Bill's formal obituary was featured on the website of one of the many ministries he served: The JerUSAlem Connection. They have granted us permission to share this video with you today, and you may view it by going here.

And so, in closing, we too say:

"Well done, good and faithful servant . . . Enter into the joy of your lord."
(Matthew 25:21)

Amen!

Classic Hymns

STAND UP, STAND UP FOR JESUS

"Stand . . . having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness." (Ephesians 6:14)

Lyrics

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the cross; Lift high His royal banner, It must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory His army shall He lead, Till every foe is vanquished, And Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, The solemn watchword hear; If while ye sleep He suffers, Away with shame and fear; Where'er ye meet with evil, Within you or without, Charge for the God of battles, And put the foe to rout.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, The trumpet call obey; Forth to the mighty conflict, In this His glorious day. Ye that are brave now serve Him Against unnumbered foes; Let courage rise with danger, And strength to strength oppose.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Stand in His strength alone; The arm of flesh will fail you, Ye dare not trust your own. Put on the Gospel armor, Each piece put on with prayer; Where duty calls or danger, Be never wanting there.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Each soldier to his post, Close up the broken column, And shout through all the host: Make good the loss so heavy, In those that still remain, And prove to all around you That death itself is gain.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, The strife will not be long; This day the noise of battle, The next the victor's song. To him who overcometh A crown of life shall be; They with the King of Glory Shall reign eternally.

His arm was drawn into the machinery and torn off, and he died soon after. In the prime of his life he was taken away from the direction of that great revival movement.

But his dying message to his associates in the work, Stand up for Jesus, supplied the theme for this hymn. It was written by the Rev. George Duffield, and was read at the close of a sermon he delivered on the Sunday following the death of his friend.

Taal volcano: Lava spews as 'hazardous eruption' feared

A volcano in the Philippines has begun spewing lava, as authorities warn that a "hazardous eruption" is possible "within hours or days".

In the early hours of Monday, a weak flow of lava began seeping out of Taal volcano - located some 70km (45 miles) south of the capital Manila. Taal had earlier emitted a huge plume of ash, triggering the mass evacuation of 8,000 people from the area. Taal is the Philippines' second most active volcano.

Situated on an island in the middle of a lake, it is one of the world's smallest volcanoes and has recorded at least 34 eruptions in the past 450 years.

Authorities in the surrounding province, Batangas, have declared a "state of calamity", signifying major disruption.

On Sunday, the volcano emitted a giant plume of ash, with rumbling sounds and tremors also reported. Image copyright Phivolcs

Abby Johnson's Pro-Life 'LoveLine' Ministry Gets Off to An Incredible Start

"We've tapped into a deep need for people to help others, to feel like they are doing something to make a positive difference in another's life. The immediate response from people to help has been overwhelming." -Pamela Whitehead, director of ProLove Ministries and LoveLine

[Faithwire.com] LoveLine, the latest ministry founded by former Planned Parenthood director and pro-life activist, Abby Johnson, has had an incredible first few months.

Since launching the initiative, which aims to help provide practical assistance to pregnant women in crisis, LoveLine has provided over $22,000 in household and material goods, serving 43 women and 66 children in total.

Historically, pregnant women and moms in crisis have had to wait far too long for government support, putting them at imminent risk. After spending years working to connect the women with local charities and support, Johnson decided to create a dedicated central database and helpline-and at that, LoveLine was born.

About CHPP

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
