Border Patrol Chief Says "No Consequences" are Driving Border Patrol Crisis
|
|
Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said the U.S. border is in crisis, largely because of a lack of consequences being applied to most illegal aliens.
“In my experience, we have seen increases when there are no consequences,” Ortiz said on July 28 during a deposition for a lawsuit against the federal government by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.
Ortiz also said that the border crisis creates unsafe conditions for Americans.
His comments are a departure from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who has repeatedly said the border is closed and that no crisis exists.
On Aug. 29 White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “It’s not just that people are walking across—across the border.”
At current levels, Border Patrol agents are apprehending an average of 6,000 people each day who are walking across the southern border illegally, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data. (Epoch Times) Read more.

MegaDrought Threatening Millions of Americans With Loss of Water and Power
|
|
The Colorado River Basin meanders through seven U.S. states and supplies water to Lake Powell in the Upper Basin and Lake Mead in the Lower Basin. In turn, these reservoirs deliver water and power to millions of Americans.
They’re also going dry.
Indeed, on Aug. 16, 2021, the Bureau of Reclamation issued the first Level One Shortage Condition in the Lower Basin when Lake Mead fell below 1075 feet.
Then, in March 2022, the bureau reported that Lake Powell fell below the target elevation of 3,525 feet for the first time since the 1960s.
Pointedly, these drops threaten hydropower generation and municipal water needs for 40 million Americans.
And while Congress has taken steps to address the flagging water supply, a 20-year megadrought and unsustainable allotments are hampering its efforts.
In 1999, Lake Powell averaged a water elevation of almost 3,681 feet, and Lake Mead was almost near capacity at 1,220 feet near the dam.
After more than 20 years of drought, the West has officially entered a megadrought (meaning 20 or more years), and Lake Powell’s water level is down almost 150 feet. Lake Mead’s water level is down nearly 176 feet. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

1. In call with Lapid, Biden vows to never allow Iran to get nuclear weapon - Israel Hayom
President Joe Biden told Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Wednesday the United States will never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon as Tehran seeks stronger guarantees from Washington for the revival of a nuclear deal with world powers.
"The president underscored US commitment to never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon," the White House said in a statement.
It also added that Biden emphasized the importance of concluding maritime border negotiations between Israel and Lebanon.
Lapid's office said the two "spoke at length about the negotiations on a nuclear agreement and their shared commitment to stopping Iran's progress towards a nuclear weapon." (Read more)

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday said he expects Israel to join international sanctions against Russia, following his first conversation with Prime Minister Yair Lapid.
The two countries have had a somewhat rocky relationship since Russia invaded Ukraine, as Israel seeks to balance its ties between the two warring nations.
Zelensky also called for Israel to continue providing aid to Ukraine.
“I count on [Israel’s] accession to the sanctions on Russia and provision of practical assistance to Ukraine in countering the aggression of the Russian Federation,” Zelensky said in a statement after the call. (Read more)

3. Israel to buy 4 Boeing refueling tankers from US, stepping up possibility for Iran strikes - World Israel News
Israel will buy four KC-46A refueling tankers in an expedited, $927 million deal struck between Boeing and the U.S. Department of Defense, Israel’s defense ministry announced on Thursday.
The aircraft, which allows for mid-air refueling for fighter planes, underline Israel’s readiness to strike Iran, which is beyond the flight range for its stealth jets at present.
The tankers would replace the Israeli Air Force’s KC-130 Hercules and repurposed Boeing 707s that are fifty years old.
The refuelers are slated to arrive in 2025 but Israel has requested that the delivery be expedited. (Read more)

The meeting focused on the nuclear agreement with Iran and the preparation of the head of the Mossad for the continuation of the Israeli efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons,
Internet users who saw the picture of the meeting noticed a pair of Apple AirPods earphones on the Prime Minister's desk, and expressed concern that the earphones could have been used by hostile parties to listen in on the meeting. (Read more)

5. UN Renews Mandate of Peacekeeping Force UNIFIL in Southern Lebanon - Jewish Press
(JNS) The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday renewed the mandate of the U.N. peacekeeping force in Southern Lebanon for one year.
The peacekeeping force UNIFIL was established in 1978 to confirm Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon following a military incursion. After the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel, UNIFIL’s mandate was expanded to monitor the cessation of hostilities.
Last year, the Security Council further asked UNIFIL to take “temporary and special measures” to assist the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) with food, fuel, medicine and logistical support.
In his report to the Council on Wednesday, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres noted that while the “underlying drivers of the conflict have not dramatically changed since 2006, UNIFIL does face new challenges in the conduct of its operations,” including restrictions on its freedom of movement. A court filing submitted by former President Donald Trump’s lawyers said the Department of Justice (DOJ) never contacted his lawyers after FBI agents took documents during last month’s raid on his Mar-a-Lago.
“Never has an argument against ‘interference’ better underscored the need for judicial involvement,” the filing, submitted Wednesday, said. “All of this in the context of a unilateral filter team operation that to-date has never made any contact with counsel for the Movant, another historic first for DOJ.
“Left unchecked, the DOJ will impugn, leak, and publicize selective aspects of their investigation with no recourse for Movant but to somehow trust the self-restraint of currently unchecked investigators,” his lawyers further argued (pdf).
That filing came about a day after the DOJ asserted in court that a special master—or a neutral third-party—isn’t needed for the review of allegedly classified materials that were taken from Trump’s residence. The DOJ filter team, prosecutors said, already carried out a preliminary evaluation of the documents. (Read more)

3. IAEA: Tehran expands its advanced uranium enrichment program – JNS News
A report by the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog warns that Iran is pressing ahead with an upgrade to its advanced uranium enrichment program, Reuters revealed on Monday. The development comes as the West waits for Iran’s response to a “final” proposal to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency document, the first of three cascades of IR-6 centrifuges recently installed at the subterranean Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP) in Natanz is actively enriching uranium, Reuters reported.
The IR-6 is the Islamic Republic’s most advanced model. Under the 2015 nuclear accord, Tehran would only be allowed to use less efficient first-generation IR-1 centrifuges. Iran has been using IR-6 centrifuges to enrich uranium to up to 60% purity, close to that required for use in nuclear bombs, at an above-ground complex in Natanz for over 12 months, the report noted. It now seems all but certain that U.S. President Joe Biden will conclude his deal with Iran. In this scenario, Israel cannot expect any significant assistance from the United States in diminishing its dangers. Israel also cannot expect to change American policy in any substantive way until after a different president is elected. This is regardless of the results of the midterm elections.
Therefore, if concrete measures aren’t taken during this interim period, Iran will enter the so-called “zone of immunity.” It will have enough military nuclear capability to operate both directly and through its proxies under a nuclear umbrella. 5. Taiwan Shoots Down Drone Off Chinese Coast For The First Time – ZeroHedge
After two prior episodes in as many consecutive days which saw Taiwan military outposts on outlying islands fire warning shots against intruding unidentified drones, a fresh incident Thursday has resulted in an unidentified civilian drone being shot down near the Chinese mainland.
"The Jinmen Defense Command of the Army stated that at 12:30 p.m. today, an unidentified civilian aerial camera was found to enter the airspace over the restricted waters of Shiyu Island," Taiwan's Defense Ministry said. "The Ministry of Defense will continue to search, monitor, and monitor closely to maintain the security of the defence area."
Like the prior incidents which just resulted in warning shots, the drone entered restricted waters near one of the Kinmen islands just off the Chinese mainland. Shi Islet is the smallest Taiwanese island which has long had military personnel stationed on it, and is virtually a rock sticking out of the sea lying just northwest of Taiwan's Lesser Kinmen.
As Reuters details, this is being widely viewed as likely part of a stepped-up Chinse harassment and pressure campaign against Taiwan since Nancy Pelosi's August 2nd visit.

The World Economic Forum this month published an article calling for an online censorship system powered by a combination of artificial and human intelligence that one critic suggested would ‘globalize’ the ‘search for wrongthink.’
Warning about a “dark world of online harms” that must be addressed, the World Economic Forum (WEF) this month published an article calling for a “solution” to “online abuse” that would be powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and human intelligence.
The proposal calls for a system, based on AI, that would automate the censorship of “misinformation” and “hate speech” and work to overcome the spread of “child abuse, extremism, disinformation, hate speech and fraud” online.
According to the author of the article, Inbal Goldberger, human “trust and safety teams” alone are not fully capable of policing such content online.
Goldberger is vice president of ActiveFence Trust & Safety, a technology company based in New York City and Tel Aviv that claims it “automatically collects data from millions of sources and applies contextual AI to power trust and safety operations of any size.”
Instead of relying solely on human moderation teams, Goldberger proposes a system based on “human-curated, multi-language, off-platform intelligence” – in other words, input provided by “expert” human sources that would then create “learning sets” that would train the AI to recognize purportedly harmful or dangerous content. 8. Dr. Robert Malone sues The Washington Post for defamation over COVID ‘misinformation’ claims – LifeSite News
Dr. Robert Malone, an expert in mRNA technology and a vocal COVID vaccines critic who has been consistently censored by Big Tech, is suing the Washington Post for defamation. The lawsuit alleges that the news outlet made defamatory statements against him in an article published on January 24.
The article claimed that Malone spread “misinformation” in a speech where he said the vaccines “are not working” against the omicron variant of COVID-19. As evidence the statement was false, the Post cited a paper by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that found that booster shots were protecting people against severe disease.
The Post omitted the part where Malone said that vaccines “do not prevent omicron infection, viral replication, or spread to others.”
Speaking to The Epoch Times, Malone noted that he had “said nothing about disease and death at that point in time.” He went on to accuse the Post of selective misquoting and using the CDC study to counter a claim he never made. (Read more)

An investigation by MintPress News has found that billionaire eugenicist Bill Gates quietly underwrites a slew of media outlets that present him and his endeavors favorably to the world.
Gates has poured hundreds of millions of dollars – $319 million to be exact – into positive coverage from the likes of CNN, NBC, NPR, PBS, and The Atlantic, to name just a few. Gates also sponsors foreign media outlets like BBC, The Guardian, The Financial Times, and The Daily Telegraph.
Every globalist-run country, it seems, is directly influenced by Gates via his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a “non-profit” group that funnels hordes of cash into the coffers of media groups that push pharmaceuticals, vaccines, genetically engineered (GMO) foods, and many other things that Gates supports.
The largest recipient of Gates funding is NPR, which received deposits totaling nearly $25 million. The Guardian is second in line at nearly $13 million, followed by Cascade Public Media at nearly $11 million.
Gates also funds Der Spiegel in Germany with more than $5 million in funding, as well as Le Monde in France and Bhekisisa in South Africa.
“In total, Gates has funneled $166 million directly to media outlets while distributing the remaining money to various media centres and journalism organizations,” reported Newspunch. (Read more)

10. Excess deaths more prominent among those who took third and fourth covid shots – Pandemic News
A letter to the editor that was submitted to Prince George Citizen, a popular Canadian newspaper, reveals that the vast majority of people who are dying from the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) not only got “vaccinated” but also “boosted.” A screenshot of data from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) shows that in mid-April 2022, half of all people in the province had already received their first booster injection. Between March 20 and April 16, 63 percent of people diagnosed with a covid infection had taken their first booster shot.
Even more astounding is the fact that of those who passed away during this time, supposedly from “covid,” a whopping 73 percent had received at least one booster shot. Another dataset capturing infections and deaths between May 15 and July 9 of this year tells a similar story. During that time, 52 percent of BC residents had taken at least one booster shot, and 76 percent of all deaths attributed to “covid” during that time occurred among the boosted.
“If you look at the statistics from the BCCDC site, you will see that there is zero scientific evidence for keeping the vaccine passport in place,” the letter to the editor argues based on these data points. (Read more)

On The FBI Raid On Trump

Many believe the FBI has been politicized to harass and terrorize people without true due process as evidenced by the recent raid on former president Donald Trump’s residence. The raid, launched by a search warrant issued by a judge who publicly criticized Trump, was based on a an internally-created FBI affidavit that used news stories for justification. In turn, the raid generated news stories implying Trump had acted illegally. Now the government is closing in on indictments against Trump for obstructing the FBI investigation. Political and legal analysts contend this Biden-supported FBI effort is aimed at preventing Trump from running in 2024 and sending a clear message of intimidation to anyone who would vote for him.
The FBI raid on Trump’s residence was authorized when an unnamed FBI agent swore an affidavit that classified documents “may have been stored” at an unauthorized location. Dissenting Voices Must Speak Out to Extricate Society From Grip of Mass Formation: Clinical Psychologist

Speaking out to articulate sincere and honest belief is the best way to break the social phenomenon known as mass formation, whereby many individuals believe in an unreasonable narrative but are unable to think critically of it, said Mattias Desmet, a professor of clinical psychology at Ghent University in Belgium.
A very important characteristic of mass formation is that people gripped by it become radically intolerant of dissonant voices to the point of committing atrocities against the people who disagree with them, including their own children, Desmet told EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program in an Aug. 18 interview.
To illustrate this, the professor provided an example of a mother who, during the Iranian revolution in 1979, reported her son to the government and helped to execute him.
The phenomenon of mass formation has existed in society since ancient times and manifested itself in the Crusades, the French Revolution, and on a large scale in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, said Desmet, a leading expert on mass formation.
The first time a worldwide mass formation emerged was during the coronavirus crisis, Desmet said. “That’s never happened before in history.” During the COVID-19 pandemic, two new groups emerged in the society: the mass and a group of people that do not go along with the masses, he continued. Just like Wile E Coyote, the United States and Europe are discovering that their incredibly “clever” plan to punish Russia with draconian economic sanctions is backfiring. And it is backfiring with a vengeance.
Take a look at the U.S. stock market. It has lost almost 1900 points since last Friday–i.e., four straight down days. That is just for starters. Check out these recent headlines:
Deteriorating liquidity in Treasuries points to turbulence across various assets. A Bloomberg liquidity index that measures deviations of yields from their fair value climbed to the highest level since March 2020 this week.
Now take a look at Europe. Turning into a nightmare that is likely to produce widespread political upheaval. Thanks to the sanctions imposed on Russia, the U.K. and Ireland are getting savaged with shockingly high energy bills amid the ongoing (and worsening) energy crisis.
The U.S. economy faces significant headwinds moving into the fall. Biden and his team will continue to use the lipstick on a pig to paint the situation in the most positive light possible, but that will not solve the supply chain shortages and the continue growth of inflation.
In Europe, things are markedly worse. The UK and Ireland are grappling with soaring energy costs that are forcing many small businesses to shutter their operations:

200-year-old desert giant collapsed following seasonal rain

This iconic symbol of the Southwest stood for two centuries, but even as past visitors mourned its loss and posted photos of the statuesque landmark in all of its glory, park officials pointed out what it hopes to be a “silver lining.”
An old cactus known as the Bicentennial Cactus and a popular landmark that had looked over the Sutherland Wash since shortly after the turn of the 19th century collapsed following heavy rain in southern Arizona.
"Powerful seasonal rains can quickly make an impact on the desert landscape. The loss of this huge, iconic ~200-year-old Saguaro on the Romero Ruins trail overlooking the Sutherland Wash at Catalina State Park in Tucson is one change regular park visitors can't miss," the Arizona Department of Parks said over Facebook.
The Saguaro is the largest cactus in the U.S. and usually grows up to 40 feet tall, with the largest one measuring 78 feet, according to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. The department told AccuWeather that it estimated the Saguaro was between 40 to 50 feet tall with over 30 arms. But when the cactus was found, the once towering cactus broke at the stem with its gargantuan arms sprawled out across the ground. Read More

American Academy of Pediatrics Pushes Back Against Gender-Altering Procedures on Children

Gender medical treatment for children has seen a staggering spike in recent years. In the U.S. alone, more than 50 pediatric clinics perform or refer out for procedures, including surgery, that could leave young patients unable to have children of their own. Now, a surprising move by the American Academy of Pediatrics may be putting the brakes on such radical measures. It comes in the wake of criticism from parents and professionals, plus a significant shift in direction overseas.
In July, the United Kingdom stunned many when it closed its Tavistock Centre, the country's gender clinic for children. The shutdown came after an independent review found shaky scientific evidence for pushing hormones, puberty blockers, and surgery. U.S. hormone specialists like pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Paul Hruz are paying close attention to the gaps in research. Hruz tells CBN News, "There's been a tendency here in the U.S. to dismiss that and even to double down and be more assertive in saying that the affirmative approach must be used here in this country."
Now, a class action lawsuit against Tavistock is launching with potentially up to a thousand affected families joining. Barrister Thomas Goodhead is leading the suit and told Times Radio, "I think this is going to be one of the largest medical negligence scandals of all time." In the U.S., social media protests over pediatric gender clinics have taken off, prompting places like the Boston Children's Hospital to remove videos explaining its surgeries. On Monday, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) appeared to backpedal, saying that for the vast majority of children it does not recommend medical treatment or surgery. In 2018, it called the watchful waiting method, which delays medical treatment, an outdated approach. Hruz said the new statement is telling. "I do think that this is a shift.
