"For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations." (Psalm 22:28)

"We the People"

"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"
Biden's Speech: Part One

That Speech

Joe Biden's speech last night was perhaps the most dangerous and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president, certainly in modern memory. Stephen Miller suggested that Biden gave the speech of a dictator in the style of a dictator. I agree.

This was a hyper-partisan speech that had one purpose – to demonize Donald Trump and conservatives. Biden mentioned Trump by name three times and "MAGA" 13 times.

As I noted in yesterday's report, 66% of Americans say we have become more divided SINCE JOE BIDEN'S ELECTION, and speeches like this one (not to mention his extreme policies) are a big reason why.

Now, here's my take on last night's address.

The Optics

The optics of Biden's speech were more like a Berlin rally in 1939 than a speech delivered at the birthplace of the American republic. The blood red lighting was unsettling, dystopian and hellish.

Biden was flanked by two Marines in uniform, a disgusting violation of using the military in overtly political events. Even CNN talking heads were taken aback by the "semi-fascist" look of Biden's address.

Some people compared the optics to the evil Emperor Palpatine of Star Wars. Others said it looked like Biden was speaking in front of the gates of Hell. It certainly wasn't an ideal setting for any American president.

But in some ways it was appropriate. It was appropriate for an angry speech delivered by a 79 year-old politician labeling everyone opposed to his radical agenda as "dangerous extremists."

I kept waiting for him to declare a new initiative, something like, "As we speak, authorities are arresting MAGA opponents all across America, taking them to reeducation camps so this threat to our democracy will end."

Accidental Truth

There was one moment when Biden accidentally told the truth. "But first, we must be honest with each other and with ourselves," he said. "Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal."

Well, on that point, I 1,000% agree! The American people overwhelmingly agree, too. Yet another poll finds a record number of Americans saying our country is on the wrong track.

Biden's Speech: Part Two
Biden's Attack On Christians

Biden's Attack On Christians

Biden said that the proponents of the MAGA movement – Make America Great Again – "represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic."

The pro-MAGA vote represented 74 million Americans. It was multicultural and multi-ethnic, and included a remarkable influx of Hispanic Americans. But the main reason Donald Trump did so well is because of the support he received from Christians.

He got a higher percentage of evangelical support specifically, and Christians in general, than previous conservative presidential nominees.

. . . This is Joe Biden going back to his roots, showing us, once again, who he really is -- just like he smeared Clarence Thomas, just like he smeared Mitt Romney, just like he viciously lied about Donald Trump.

Trump Responds

President Trump responded to Biden's unhinged tirade last night in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. Trump wrote:

"Someone should explain to Joe Biden, slowly but passionately, that MAGA means, as powerfully as mere words can get, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! If he doesn’t want to Make America Great Again, which through words, action, and thought, he doesn’t, then he certainly should not be representing the United States of America!"

Eye on the Solomon Islands!
>>> Watch "Beijing ‘willing to help’ Sogavare extend his term in office" on YouTube. GO HERE.

SYDNEY (Reuters) -Months after the Solomon Islands struck a security pact with China, its leader has repeatedly appeared to snub the United States, heightening Washington's concern but not deterring it from trying to keep the Pacific nation out of Beijing's orbit.

As part of a push to boost engagement and counter China's growing influence, the administration of President Joe Biden plans to open an embassy for the first time in three decades in the Solomon Islands, an archipelago that switched diplomatic recognition from Taiwan to Beijing in 2019 and in April sealed the security agreement with China.

Washington has since faced a series of rebuffs from Sogavare, who continues to keep dialogue open on U.S. aid.

Last month he skipped a planned appearance with a senior U.S. official at a World War Two commemoration. His government did not respond to a U.S. Coast Guard vessel's request to refuel, a move Washington called "regrettable". Sogavare then announced he was barring all foreign navy ships from port - while he was welcoming a U.S. Navy hospital ship on a humanitarian mission.

The U.S. State Department declined to comment. A spokesperson for Senator Marsha Blackburn, who last week visited Sogavare, said it was "extremely concerning that Solomon Islands are blocking military vessels from their waters". (MSN.com) Read more here.

Father God, we find this news to be quite distressing, especially because we in the United States are not hearing anything about this critical turn of events in the South Pacific. Father God, it is so critical that we maintain our strong line of defense for all the island nations of the South Pacific, even as we have done since the days of the Battle of Guadalcanal in World War II. We reject the Chinese moving in now on the Solomon Islands, and we intercede that our own rights to have our naval vessels in port there be retained.

Help us, O Lord, as Your watchmen on the wall, to maintain a strong watchful eye on all events that are unfolding now in the Solomon Islands. We ask this prayer, O Lord, in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

-"For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.” (Isaiah 21:6)

In Context: Existential Freedom
Thursday night, without much build-up or explanation, President Biden proclaimed, "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic."

The President first claimed, "They refuse to accept the results of a free election." Senate Republican Leader McConnell on the Senate floor has
debunked claims about state election laws.

For several minutes, President Biden decried violence: "this is a nation that rejects violence as a political tool. We do not encourage violence. … We hear — you've heard it — more and more talk about violence as an acceptable political tool in this country. It's not. It could never be an acceptable tool. … There is no place for political violence in America. Period. None. Ever. … We can't allow violence to be normalized in this country."

In his conclusion, he claimed, "The soul of America is defined by the sacred proposition that all are created equal and the image of God."

Why is it, then, that one of the first and few statements President Biden made about federal policies of concern was his claim that "MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards — backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love"?

There is violence in America against unborn souls, even after Roe, and instead of recognizing that and repudiating that, President Biden glossed over it as "An America where there is no right to choose" abortion. He dismissed any objections to this violence as mis-focused energy "on divisive culture wars."

Several valid criticisms of this speech have been raised: saying of others what is true of yourself, politicizing the military, doublespeak, etc. Put all that aside for a moment, and even if the Administration were right in all of its claims and denials, there's one dangerous fact that remains unmistakable: the people in power have an existential fear. If they lose, they lose everything.

No matter who is in power, no matter who wins this fall, our grounding needs to be not in the government, the Constitution, one President, one party, an election outcome, a policy outcome or any earthly thing. Our grounding needs to be in God and His Word. If our faith is in Him, then even if we lose everything, we've lost nothing.

Patrick Henry is attributed to saying, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

Whether or not that statement passes historical, scholarly muster, nations should be built on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the freedom He promises. If you're building on the foundation of Jesus Christ, then whether you're building with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, government, policy, or any other created thing, each one's work will become clear
when they Day declares it. (1 Corinthians 3:12-13).

Father, teach us to rest our hope in You. Teach us to lean on You for the victory. Let all people know Your Word is true and You are faithful.

"whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free." (Ephesians 6:8).

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

712-770-1415
Access Code: 150411#

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
