Biden Administration Can't Locate Over 177,000 Illegal Immigrants: Inspector General
|
|
President Joe Biden's administration doesn't have information to locate more than 177,000 illegal immigrants it released into the interior of the United States, according to a new watchdog report.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released more than 1.3 million illegal immigrants under federal law into the United States from March 2021 through August 2022. The illegal aliens had crossed into the country from Mexico. DHS workers are required to identify an address prior to releasing each immigrant.
The addresses help in situations such as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers tracking down fugitive illegal immigrants.
The DHS inspector general reviewed 981,671 records and found U.S. Border Patrol had not obtained an address or had obtained an invalid address for more than 177,000 released illegal immigrants.
That included illegal immigrants with undeliverable addresses and illegal immigrant addresses at entities such as charities or other government agencies.
"ICE must be able to locate migrants to enforce immigration laws, including to arrest or remove individuals who are considered potential threats to national security. The notable percentage of missing, invalid, or duplicate addresses on file means DHS may not be able to locate migrants following their release into the United States," the inspector general said in its report. "As the department continues to apprehend and release tens of thousands of migrants each month, valid post-release addresses are essential." (The Epoch Times) Read more

Nearly 150 Illegal Immigrants on Terror Watchlist Apprehended at US Border in Past Year

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) encountered unprecedented numbers of immigrants whose names appeared on the federal "Terrorist Watch List" and tried to cross the U.S.–Mexico border illegally in the past fiscal year (FY).
According to CBP figures, a total of 149 immigrants identified as known terrorists, suspected terrorists, or associates of both were arrested after trying to enter the United States illegally, with a record number of 146 at the southern border and three at the northern border.
This number is larger than the last six years combined. Since 2017, border agents apprehended a total of 128 individuals on the terrorist watchlist when they tried to cross either the southern or northern border illegally, the figures show.
The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS)—also known as the "watchlist"—was established after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on America as a U.S. government database that contains information on known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) who are not U.S. citizens. However, the watchlist has expanded over the last decade to also include KST associates.
As a comparison, CBP apprehended 98 individuals named on the terrorist watchlist in FY 2022. All of the 98 illegal immigrants were caught at the southern border. Between FY 2017 to 2021, border agents only encountered 30 people on the watchlist attempting to cross either the southern or northern border illegally.
In FY 2021, 15 immigrants named on the watchlist were apprehended when they tried to cross the southern border illegally, and just one individual via the northern border. (The Epoch Times) Read more here

Biden White House deletes post after misidentifying major Vietnamese leader

The White House deleted a post on President Biden's account that apparently confused the Vietnamese National Assembly chairman with the country's president.
On Monday, Biden's official White House account on X, formerly known as Twitter, thanked Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong after his visit to the Asian nation. "President Vo Van Thuong, thank you for such a productive meeting," Biden's tweet said. "This partnership is about unleashing our peoples’ potential and, with it, a range of incredible possibilities," the president continued.
However, the photo Biden posted of him shaking hands with the Vietnamese "president" was not with the Asian country's president. Rather, the photo was of Biden shaking hands with Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. (Fox News) Read more here.

Convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante captured in Pennsylvania nearly 2 weeks after prison escape

State police announce capture of Danelo Cavalcante in Pennsylvania
|
|
Danelo Cavalcante has been captured alive in Pennsylvania after he escaped from Chester County Prison and eluded authorities for nearly two weeks, state police announced Wednesday morning.
Cavalcante, 34, was surrounded and taken by surprise in northern Chester County shortly after 8 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said during a news conference. Gov. Josh Shapiro told reporters that not a single shot was fired.
An aircraft using thermal technology led tactical teams of State Police and U.S. Border agents to the fugitive's location around 1 a.m., but a storm with severe lightning prevented Cavalcante's immediate capture, Bivens said. The teams kept the location surrounded to prevent his escape until they were able to converge.
"They were able to move in very quietly. They had the element of surprise. Cavalcante did not realize he was surrounded until that had occurred," Bivens said.
When the teams moved in, Cavalcante tried to evade capture, crawling through thick brush, Bivens said. Authorities released a dog that ultimately subdued the prison escapee.
Cavalcante was treated for a minor bite wound. No officers were injured during the capture.(Fox News) Read more here.

1. IDF bombs Syrian naval base used by Russia - World Israel News
Airstrikes on Syria’s western coast killed 3 soldiers Wednesday, according to a report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Explosions were reported near a Syrian naval facility in Tartus, in an apparent Israeli strike.
In addition to servicing the Assad regime, the Tartus base is used by the Russian military.
Unlike most strikes by Israel in Syria, the operation was carried out during daylight hours. (Read more)

2. 6 killed in Gaza border blast during rioting, apparently while planting bomb - Times of Israel
At least six Palestinians were killed Wednesday afternoon after an explosive device they attempted to detonate on the Israeli border during a riot blew up prematurely, the military and health officials in the Gaza Strip said.
The rally was organized in the Malka area, east of Gaza City to commemorate the 18th anniversary of Israel’s pullout from the Strip.
The Israeli military said hundreds of rioters participated in the violent protest, including some who hurled explosive devices and grenades at the security barrier. Troops responded with riot dispersal means. (Read more)

3. Netanyahu Decries Palestinian Authority Weapons Transfer as ‘Fake News’ After Blowback From Own Government - Algemeiner
i24 News — Israel’s governing coalition is up in arms, following a report that the Israeli Defense Ministry approved the transfer of US weapons to Ramallah. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the details were presented as “fake news.”
According to a report from Israel’s Army Radio on Wednesday, the recent shipment of over 1,500 rifles and 8 armored vehicles from the United States to the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security forces received approval from the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT).
COGAT is a unit within Israel’s Defense Ministry that implements civilian policy in the West Bank, and falls under the authority of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who under the current coalition agreement is also a minister within the Defense Ministry overseeing civilian affairs in the West Bank.
The report comes as sources within the Finance Ministry revealed that Smotrich was kept in the dark about the approval, and is reportedly furious about the situation. (Read more)

4. Cabinet to have greater oversight over decisions regarding PA after weapons transfer - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Wednesday) instructed the National Security Council to submit to the Cabinet all decisions passed by the previous government regarding the Palestinian Authority, in order to increase oversight and ensure that the policy of the current government is being carried out.
The decision was made following Netanyahu's meeting with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who strongly criticized Israel's authorization of the transfer of American armored vehicles and arms to the Palestinian Authority.
Netanyahu earlier said in response to the controversy surrounding the decision: "There is no limit to the fake news, so here are the facts: since the government was established, it did not transfer any weapons, no even one, to the Palestinian Authority. What was indeed done is a decision that was made by Defense Minister Benny Gantz (during the Bennett-Lapid government) in January 2022 to transfer several armored vehicles to replace old armored vehicles."
He continued: "That is what was done, not tanks, not Kalashnikovs, nothing, so sometimes the fake news is also not armored, and it's good that we puncture this lie." (Read more)

5. ‘Blood Thirsty Baby Killers’: Extremist Anti-Israel Activism Surging on US College Campuses, New Report Finds - Algemeiner
Anti-Israel activists on US college campuses embraced a strategy of vilifying Zionists and supporting terrorism against the Jewish state during the 2022-2023 academic school year, according to a new report.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a Jewish civil rights group, on Wednesday released the latest version of its annual report tracking anti-Israel activism on US campuses. The report tallied 665 campus anti-Israel incidents during the 2022-2023 academic year — nearly double the number of incidents from the prior school year.
While not all the incidents were necessarily antisemitic, many were antisemitic “in intent or in effect,” according to the report, which added that they collectively “contribute to a more hostile campus environment” for Jewish students.
“Every year, young Jewish people go to college with the hope that their Jewish identities, including their connection to the Jewish state, will be welcome on campus,” ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. “This sense of community is increasingly at risk as concerning anti-Israel incidents increase. 1. Trump asks Judge Tanya Chutkan to recuse herself in Jan. 6 case - CBS News
Attorneys for former President Donald Trump want a new judge in his 2020 election interference case.
In a filing Monday, they argued that Judge Tanya Chutkan should recuse herself from the case for previous statements they say give the appearance of bias. They did not outright accuse Chutkan of being biased against Trump, but highlighted statements they claimed "create a perception of prejudgment incompatible with our justice system."
"Judge Chutkan has, in connection with other cases, suggested that President Trump should be prosecuted and imprisoned. Such statements, made before this case began and without due process, are inherently disqualifying," Trump's attorneys wrote in the filing.
"This was nothing less than an attempt to violently overthrow the government, the legally, lawfully, peacefully elected government, by individuals who were mad that their guy lost," Chutkan said during one October 2022 hearing, later adding, "it's blind loyalty to one person who, by the way, remains free to this day."
Trump's attorneys called that statement "an apparent prejudgment of guilt." (Read more)

2. 1 in 6 churchgoers have had, paid for or encouraged an abortion, survey finds - Christian Post
One out of every six regular churchgoers in the United States has had, paid for or encouraged an abortion, while one-fifth doesn't believe the Bible identifies when life begins, a new study suggests.
The Family Research Council's Center for Biblical Worldview released the "Survey on Adult Churchgoers on Social Issues and Worldview" last week. Based on 1,009 interviews of American adults who attend church services at least once a month, the study was conducted in June 2023 by Center for Biblical Worldview and prominent Evangelical pollster George Barna.
The survey examined respondents' views on abortion and found that 16% of respondents "admitted to having ever paid for, encouraged, or chosen to have an abortion."
While nearly two-thirds (65%) of those surveyed stated that the Bible identifies when human life begins, 21% disagreed, while 14% did not know. (Read more)

3. Hunter Biden sues ex-Trump aide for allegedly helping publish emails, other laptop content illegally - Just The News
President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit Wednesday against former Trump aide Garrett Ziegler for his alleged role in publishing private emails and images from the infamous laptop.
Ziegler is accused in the suit of improperly "accessing, tampering with, manipulating, altering, copying and damaging computer data that they do not own," in violation of California's computer fraud laws.
According to ABC News, the lawsuit claims that Ziegler and 10 unidentified others obtained Hunter's data and disseminated "tens of thousands of emails, thousands of photos, and dozens of videos and recordings" on the internet. (Read more)

4. Romney says won't seek 2024 Senate reelection: 'Time for a new generation of leaders' - Just The News
Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney on Wednesday said he does not plan on running for reelection, ending decades in public office as he cites his age and says, "It's time for a new generation of leaders."
Romney, who ran as the GOP presidential candidate in 2012, said in a video: "I've spent my last 25 years in public service of one kind or another. At the end of another term, I'd be in my mid-80s."
He also criticized the policies of both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. Romney pledged to keep working for the public until January 2025, when his term is set to be over.

5. Inflation rises again for second month in a row after year of cooling - Just The News
Inflation rose two months in a row, hitting 3.7% in August compared to the same time last year according to Wednesday's Consumer Price Index Report, even though the inflation rate had been declining for a year before July.
Inflation had cooled for 12 straight months to reach 3% in June, which was significantly lower than June 2022's four-decade high of 9.1%. By July 2023, inflation started ticking up again, hitting 3.2%.
The CPI report, which tracks inflation by measuring the prices that consumers pay over time, stated that gasoline prices accounted for "over half of the increase" in prices from last month, even though it is down 3.3% from August 2022.
The latest inflation numbers come as the Federal Reserve Bank has been raising interest rates to fight rising prices. (Read more)

6. UN Agency declares U.S.-Mexico border 'deadliest' migrant land route in the world - Just The News
The United Nations' International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday revealed that it had documented nearly 700 migrant deaths or disappearances near the U.S. border with Mexico in 2022.
The 686 total migrants dead or missing in the area make the Mexican frontier the deadliest migrant land route worldwide. Roughly half of the disappearances or deaths were connected to attempts to cross either the Sonoran or Chihuahuan Deserts, which span the borders of both nations.
"These alarming figures are a stark reminder of the need for decisive action by States. Enhancing data collection is crucial. Ultimately, what is needed is for countries to act on the data to ensure safe, regular migration routes are accessible," said IOM Regional Director for Regional Director for Central and North America and the Caribbean Michele Klein Solomon. 7. California Attorney Files Lawsuit to Bar Donald Trump from 2024 Ballot - Brietbart
An attorney in Venice, California, filed a federal lawsuit on Saturday to bar former President Donald Trump from California’s 2024 presidential primary election, arguing that he is disqualified due to his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, according to a report.
The lawsuit argues that the Fourteenth Amendment states that no one can hold office who has previously taken an oath of office to support the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or gave aid to those who did, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
“There is only one issue that would need to be litigated potentially, and that issue is did Trump engage in insurrection or rebellion…I think the answer to that question for anyone who has eyesight is that he did,” he claims. (Read more)

8. More than 5,000 presumed dead in Libya after catastrophic flooding breaks dams and sweeps away homes - CNN
More than 5,000 people are presumed dead and 10,000 missing after heavy rains in northeastern Libya caused two dams to collapse, surging more water into already inundated areas.
Tamer Ramadan, head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies delegation in Libya, gave the numbers of missing people during a briefing to reporters in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday. “The death toll is huge,” she said.
At least 5,300 people are thought dead, said the interior ministry of Libya’s eastern government on Tuesday, state media LANA reported. CNN has not been able to independently verify the number of deaths or those missing. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: Don't Get Fooled Again

There is a 1971 song by The Who titled “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” The lyrics to the chorus go: “I’ll tip my hat to the new Constitution. Take a bow for the new revolution. Smile and grin at the change all around. Pick up my guitar and play. Just like yesterday. Then I’ll get on my knees and pray, We don’t get fooled again. No, no.” America is once again on the brink of getting fooled again. Gathering from all the chatter on the street and the people wearing masks, schools requiring students to wear masks and keep their distance from one another, and all the proclamations from government officials about COVID, it looks to me like America learned very little from the COVID disaster of government control and lies, yes lies.
There are many who made the “educated” decision to take the experimental mRNA shots to ward off COVID death. The government, in collusion with the news media and many large corporations, spread the fear that we were all going to die of COVID if we didn’t take the mRNA serum that was safe and effective. Turns out, that it was neither safe nor effective. The shot didn’t prevent people from getting COVID. It didn’t prevent the spread of COVID. It didn’t work against any COVID variants. It didn’t prevent hospitalization. And, in many cases, the mRNA shot didn’t prevent death. In fact, studies indicate that the shot likely caused many to die. Now many who took the shot do not want to believe the studies, but the facts do not lie. It’s people’s belief in their own truth that often lies. And in the case of COVID, it could be deadly. (CNN) -- For years, small groups of astronomy enthusiasts have traveled the globe chasing the rare solar eclipse. They have embarked on cruises to the middle of the ocean, taken flights into the eclipse’s path and even traveled to Antarctica. In August 2017, millions across the US witnessed a total solar eclipse visible from Oregon to South Carolina, with a partial eclipse visible to the rest of the continental US.
The interest in astronomical events that this eclipse sparked will likely return with two eclipses visible in the US during the next year – the annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023, and the total eclipse on April 8, 2024. But astro-tourism – traveling to national parks, observatories or other natural, dark-sky locations to view astronomical events – isn’t limited just to chasing eclipses.
According to a recent study, 80% of Americans and one-third of the planet’s population can no longer see the Milky Way from their homes because of light pollution. As a consequence, most people have to travel to witness meteor showers and other common astronomical events. Read More

NFL 'Man of God' Demario Davis Preaches to Media
After Daughter's Amazing Recovery from Seizure

NFL player Demario Davis testified about the goodness of God on Sunday after his daughter survived "the worst seizure" she ever experienced, encouraging fans facing hard times to "lay it before the Lord and trust." The New Orleans Saints linebacker preached a mini sermon during a press conference, taking time to share with the fans and the media about the importance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. "We play this game on Sundays and it's really the Lord's day. And the day we should be worshipping the Lord, a lot of times, players are getting worshipped...Since so many of us didn't get to go to church today, I have a word I want to share." The scripture reads, "See! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me" (CSB). "I want to tell you about a knock I heard this week," Davis continued.
The 34-year-old explained how his four-year-old daughter suffered a seizure last week, after being seizure-free for almost two years. "She started to foam at the mouth and it was her worst seizure. For 30 minutes she seized. She wouldn't come and we had to call the paramedics," he recalled. "You can imagine all the thoughts that raise through your mind," Davis told the crowd Sunday. "The last sight you see of your daughter is that she is totally out of it. We got to the hospital and my wife told me that our daughter stopped breathing in the [ambulance] twice." Davis said he cried out to God in prayer. At 3 a.m. that morning, Davis heard a knock at his door at the hospital. It was his daughter, Carly-Faith. "When I heard my daughter talk in the middle of the night...and my daughter doesn't have any developmental issues. Praise God. She doesn't have any slurred speech...She woke up talking clearer than she was before," he recounted. Carly-Faith was released from the hospital, just one day after having the seizure. But he took the following minutes in that press conference to share that the Lord used the entire situation to draw him closer to God.
