Biden's Pick for Comptroller of the Currency, Saule Omarova, Born In the USSR Is Known for Her Pro-Communist Remarks

President Biden’s pick for Comptroller of the Currency has provoked sharp criticism for past and recent comments that praised the Soviet economy.
Biden on Sept. 23 nominated Saul[e] Omarova, a law school professor at Cornell University, for the office responsible with the regulation and supervision of all national banks. Omarova’s nomination drew immediate pushback from powerful voices who criticized her background and past comments that indicated a favor for the policies of the USSR.
Omarova was born in the Soviet Union in what is now called Kazakhstan and graduated from Moscow State University in 1989. She has pointed to the USSR’s practices as recently as 2019, when she tweeted about the gender pay gap, citing the USSR as a better model.
“Until I came to the US, I couldn’t imagine that things like gender pay gap still existed in today’s world,” Omarova wrote. “Say what you will about old USSR, there was no gender pay gap there. Market doesn’t always ‘know best.’” (The Gateway Pundit) Read more.

1. Shaked to Emirati paper: Israel will not consider Palestinian state - Israel Hayom
Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked, currently visiting the United Arab Emirates, says in an exclusive interview to the Emirati news outlet The National that Israel under Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will not consider the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Shaked told The National that the Bennett-Lapid coalition government had agreed not to tackle any issues that could cause rifts, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
According to Shaked, the government's stance was that "economic peace" would improve the lives of the Palestinians and in favor of mutual industrial zones. However, she stressed that Israel would "definitely" not support a Palestinian "state with an army." (Read more)

2. Biden Expects Israel to ‘Show Restraint’ on Settlements - Jewish Press
The US administration of President Joe Biden has quietly been pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and his coalition government to “show restraint” on the issue of settlements, according to an English-language report in Axios by Israeli reporter Barak Ravid.
In fact, the administration has been “engaged” with the Israeli government on the issue of settlements every week since Bennett met with Biden on August 27 at the White House.
When pressed during their meeting, Bennett told Biden that Israel will build in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria only according to needs arising from natural growth. (Read more)

3. Top health official says fourth COVID wave on the wane, could end soon - Times of Israel
Health Minister Director General Nachman Ash on Wednesday said he was optimistic about the continuing reduction in COVID-19 morbidity in the country.
“The decline is clear. If we feared it was just a matter of the [High] Holidays [making the numbers look low due to less testing], then today we can say that the trend is unequivocal. Now, we want to see the impact of reopening schools,” Ash told 103 FM radio.
“If we see next week that the trend continues, then yes, we are coming out of this [virus] wave,” he added.
In light of the decline, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Wednesday that he wants schoolkids in cities with low rates of infection to be exempt from quarantine after coming in contact with confirmed virus cases, and instead to conduct testing in classes. (Read more)

4. Cabinet to approve easing of green pass limits as of next week - Israel National News
The Coronavirus Cabinet ministers are expected to vote by telephone on Wednesday on the easing of the green pass outline, Channel 12 News reports.
According to the planned relief measures, open-air restaurants and indoor swimming pools will operate under the purple pass - that is, with an occupancy limit and no need to display the green pass - as early as next week.
Other planned relief measures: Closed-space attractions will remain under the green pass restrictions - while open-air attractions will have no restrictions at all. (Read more)

5. Israel in talks to purchase Merck COVID pill - Israel National News
Israel is in talks to purchase an experimental drug to treat the coronavirus, Channel 13 News medical correspondent Meir Marciano reported Tuesday evening.
The drug, called Molnupiravir, is being developed by the Merck pharmaceutical company. The drug is in pill form, and experts say that it reduces the chance of dying or being hospitalized by half if given in the first five days after symptoms begin.
Israel has asked Merck to ensure that there will be enough stock of the drug to be ready to be flown to Israel, but is holding off on finalizing the purchase until the drug receives FDA approval.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also addressed this purchase in the Coronavirus Cabinet this week, noting that Molnupiravir is a relatively expensive treatment that costs eight hundred dollars per patient. (Read more)

1. IRS spying countered by privacy bill - Fox Business
Republicans in Congress have introduced legislation aimed at stopping a proposal from the Biden administration that would force banks to report every customer transaction of $600 or more to the Internal Revenue Service.
Tuberville told FOX Business' Larry Kudlow that the legislation is aimed at stopping "the Gestapo agency of the IRS" from spying on Americans through their bank accounts. "They want everything," the Alabama Republican said of the IRS. "They want to know how much money you got in the bank, how much you're spending if you bought a wedding dress or a gun – they're going to have a list a mile long on you."
Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, introduced the bill in the House of Representatives, saying in a statement, "The push to include this provision in reconciliation, along with $80 billion to nearly quadruple the IRS budget, is reflective of how backwards Democrat priorities are right now – we need more border agents, not more IRS agents." 2. Trump responds to Biden admin cracking down on parents protesting at school board meetings - DML News
Former President Trump has weighed in on the Biden administration’s newly-announced crackdown on parents who have been speaking out and protesting at school board meetings.
During an interview with Just the News on the John Solomon Reports podcast on Tuesday, Trump said, “It’s very tough because the parents are very wounded by what’s taken place by, in many cases, radical left school boards. And you would certainly think they have a voice — and they have a voice — as to how their children are going to be educated… brought up and educated.”
On Monday, Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that he had directed the FBI and U.S. attorney offices to hold meetings with federal, state and local law enforcement leaders within 30 days to discuss ways to combat what the DOJ described as an “increase in harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members, teachers and workers in our nation’s public schools. 3. Trial set in alleged $25M scheme to extort Gaetz family - The Hill
Florida developer Stephen Alford will go on trial on Dec. 6 over accusations of organizing an extortion plot associated with the federal sex investigation into Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), the The Associated Press reported.
Alford pleaded not guilty in a Pensacola federal court on Friday. Authorities say he attempted to get $25 million from a person whom court records called "D.G.," who is believed to be Matt Gaetz's father.
Upon getting the money, Alford promised to obtain a presidential pardon from then-President Trump for a family member or ensure the Department of Justice dropped its investigation. These assurances were in addition to funding the release of someone known as "R.L.," the AP added.
Don Gaetz, a former president of the Florida Senate, is the Matt Gaetz's father. "R.L." is believed to be Robert Levinson, an FBI agent who disappeared in Iran in 2007, according to news reports. Matt Gaetz, a close ally of former President Trump, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and paying her to travel with him. (Read more)

4. Suspect in custody after shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington that injured 4 people - The Dallas Morning News
An 18-year-old suspect was in custody after a shooting Wednesday morning at Timberview High School in Arlington that left four people injured — one of them critically — as hundreds of anxious families waited hours to be reunited with their children.
Timothy George Simpkins, who turned himself in to authorities about four hours after the shooting, faces three counts of aggravated assault.
Police said the shooting appeared to have stemmed from a fight at the Mansfield ISD school, and video circulating on social media showed two males fighting in a classroom, though police could not say with complete confidence the footage was recorded Wednesday.
A 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was recovering in an intensive care unit after surgery, officials said. (Read more)

5. Households Brace for Higher Winter Heating Costs as Natural Gas Prices Vault - Epoch Times
The relentless rise in natural gas prices continued on Oct. 6, highlighting the looming threat to U.S. households bracing for higher heating costs in the event of a harsh winter.
U.S. natural gas futures were up 1.11 percent at $6.312 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) in early trading on Oct. 6 after jumping around 9 percent a day earlier to settle at $6.312 per mmBtu, their highest level since 2008.
While gas prices in Europe and Asia have more than tripled this year, the United States has largely been shielded from the global crunch because of plentiful supplies. While U.S. natural gas is trading around the $6 per mmBTu mark, it’s at around $30-plus in Europe and Asia.
But experts warn the global natural gas crunch could have ripple effects, with possible impacts on households in the United States. And U.S. natural gas future contracts—known as Henry Hub—have been rallying, with contracts for each of the next five months up over 1 percent in early trading on Oct. 6. (Read more)

6. Florida Gov. DeSantis Promises to Defend Parents at School Board Meetings Against DOJ - Epoch Times
Following a Department of Justice announcement Monday that it would direct the FBI to mobilize against parents who allegedly threaten teachers and school board members, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis promised that the state would defend parents amid GOP outcry against the move.
“Attorney General Garland is weaponizing the DOJ by using the FBI to pursue concerned parents and silence them through intimidation,” DeSantis wrote. “Florida will defend the free speech rights of its citizens and will not allow federal agents to squelch dissent.”
The Justice Department stated that it would create a task force to see how the federal government can be used to prosecute any criminal conduct toward teachers or how to assist state and local authorities investigate such threats. It came after a national association of school boards asked the Biden administration to use “extraordinary measures” to prevent alleged threats against school board staff, accusing parents who oppose teaching critical race theory and mask mandates of lodging them. 7. Whistleblower to Senate: Don't trust Facebook - Politico
Whistleblower Frances Haugen came to the Senate on Tuesday with a message about Facebook and its leaders: Don't trust them.
The former project manager whose revelations have shaken the world's largest social network accused Mark Zuckerberg and his company of knowingly pushing products that harm children and young adults in a pursuit of endlessly growing profits.
She and a series of lawmakers of both parties likened Facebook's behavior to that of the tobacco industry — which persisted for decades in denying that cigarettes were addictive and deadly. She said Facebook's failure to devote more resources to preventing foreign adversaries from using the platform in troubling ways poses a threat to U.S. national security, adding that "I'm speaking to other parts of Congress about that."
"I have strong national security concerns about how Facebook operates today," Haugen said. Haugen's other message: Washington must act. “I am here today because I believe Facebook's products harm children, stoke division and weaken our democracy," Haugen said. (Read more)

8. Thousands make decisions for Christ during Franklin Graham's Route 66 'God Loves You' tour - Christian Post
Thousands made decisions for Christ throughout Franklin Graham's 14-day "God Loves You" tour, helmed by top Christian artists, including the Newsboys and Marcos Witt.
Graham, the son of late famed evangelist Billy Graham and who has led the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) since 2001, traveled to eight cities preaching the Gospel at free events.
More than 56,000 people attended the free outdoor events along Route 66 that began in the Chicago area on Sept. 19 and finished outside Los Angeles in San Bernardino, California, on Saturday. Over 5,000 people indicated they made decisions for Jesus Christ at the events, a BGEA spokesperson told The Christian Post. (Read more)

9. Project Veritas releases undercover video with Pfizer officials, who provide stunning statements - DML News
Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe has released a new segment related to an undercover investigation on allegations about the coronavirus vaccine. This segment features multiple officials working for Pfizer.
Nick Karl, a scientist who is directly involved in the production of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine, said that natural immunity is more effective than the very vaccine he works on, and Pfizer produces.
The undercover video features a second Pfizer official, Senior Associate Scientist, Chris Croce, who also echoed the belief that natural antibodies are more effective than the vaccine.
Croce also said that the monoclonal antibody treatments “got pushed to the side” because of “money,” and admitted, “I still feel like I work for an evil corporation because it comes down to profits in the end. I mean, I’m there to help people, not to make millions and millions of dollars. So, I mean, that’s the moral dilemma.”
A third Pfizer scientist, Rahul Khandke, admitted that Pfizer employees are taught to tell the public that the “vaccine is safer than actually getting COVID.” (Read more)

10. Report: Viral Test Purchases Spiked in China Before First Reported COVID Case - Washington Free Beacon
Purchases of viral tests that can be used to detect COVID-19 infection spiked in the Wuhan area months before China first confirmed coronavirus cases, according to a report from an Australian cybersecurity firm. The report suggests China may have known about the spread of the coronavirus long before it was officially acknowledged.
The firm, Internet 2.0, studied data on public contracts in China to track the purchase of PCR tests, which are used to analyze DNA samples and have been the most commonly used test for COVID infection during the pandemic. According to the financial newspaper Nikkei, the report found that purchases of PCR tests in Wuhan's Hubei province surged starting in May 2019. The first cases of the virus were reported in Wuhan in late December of that year.
Spending on PCR tests in Hubei nearly doubled in 2019 from the previous year, the firm's analysis found. The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention's orders for the tests increased fivefold, and orders from animal testing bureaus increased tenfold. The People's Liberation Army also ordered large procurements of the tests. (Read more)

11. 'Truman Show presidency': Biden ridiculed for using fake White House set - Fox News
Social media users shamed and mocked President Biden Wednesday after he spoke, once again, from a fake White House set that featured a digital monitor showing the Rose Garden in full bloom.
"The reason Biden uses this bizarre virtual set for televised meetings — and not an actual room like East Room, Cabinet, Oval, Roosevelt, Sit Room, etc. — is because it allows him to read a script directly from a face-on monitor (& w/out teleprompter glass that can be seen on camera)," Stephen Miller, who served as a senior adviser to former President Donald Trump, wrote on Twitter.
The video set, which was constructed across from the White House in the South Court Auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, is used by Biden for video conferences and events broadcast online. Featuring professional monitors and lighting, it is the same set Biden used to show himself receiving a third dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.
The set, which includes a small seating area for members of the press and others in attendance for events, also plays host to virtual meetings for Biden and other members of his administration. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: A Nation In Crisis

You know things have turned upside-down when…Rioters in the Northwest are occupying police stations, making parts of cities war zones, burning and looting businesses and are encouraged to do so by leftist politicians, including the current Vice President of the United States. At the same time people who are standing up in school board meetings to challenge a Marxist curriculum and mask and vaccine mandates for children who are not at risk are now being monitored by the FBI as possible domestic terrorists—this, at the request of the respective associations for school principals and school boards. This signals that it is OK to break the law by burning buildings, but it’s not OK to question the people you elected.
You know things have turned upside-down when…the federal government is jack-booting employers into mandating that every employee be vaccinated or lose their job. At the same time, the federal government has opened the border to illegal migrants, does not require them to be vaccinated against the disease the government claims is a pandemic caused by the unvaccinated, and is resettling these people in various parts of the country. You know things have turned-upside down when…the federal government is in charge of life-saving monoclonal antibody distribution, but is withholding it from states that are majority Republican and have spikes in COVID 19 hospitalizations and deaths.
You know things have turned upside-down when…government agency after government agency studying the effectiveness of the fight against COVID 19 are showing mathematic proof that vaccinations lose their efficacy after four months, the majority increase in cases and hospitalizations are driven by the vaccinated, and the vaccinated are dying from COVID 19 variants. At the same time, the federal government is peddling the narrative that COVID 19 is a pandemic of the unvaccinated, is refusing to acknowledge that treatments using ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are effective, and that preventative measures such as quercetin and zinc also work—all methods that are less expensive and save lives.
These are just a few of the upside-down issues facing this country because of Marxist agenda-driven craziness. And there is much more to come unless We the People start putting our collective foot down and say “enough is enough.” Ephesians 6:12 explains this situation, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The solution is found in the next verse: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” If talk could get it done, these issues would be far gone. Time to let our yes be yes and our no, absolutely no. For we and our posterity are in constant crisis because of, say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

This fortified village looks straight out of "Game of Thrones" and has been around for more than 1,000 years. It may look inviting when things are green, but the nasty weather -- among other things -- has driven people away, and the few who remain talked about what life is like there.
High in the magnificent mountains of Georgia's Khevsureti region in Eastern Europe lies an ancient village reminiscent of a scene straight out of the popular HBO drama series Game of Thrones. While no dragons have been spotted flying about, much like the beloved series, there is a legend that includes awaiting a chosen one to come.
According to the Georgian Journal, local lore has it that the ancient fortress village of Mutso was established in the 10th century by five brothers who built it right into the mountains at an elevation of about 5,250 feet or close to a mile high. Integrating the craggy landscape fortified the settlement for centuries and helped it become the strongest outpost in northern Georgia, controlling the roads and protecting the state border for centuries.
Legend also maintains that a treasure guarded by villagers over the centuries is still hidden high in the mountains, awaiting the "chosen one." Read More

Professor Eli Schwartz is with the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, considered one of the world's top hospitals. For decades, Prof. Schwartz has traveled the world fighting outbreaks like Dengue Fever and Ebola. He also began the Travel Medicine and Tropical Disease Institute at Sheba. At the beginning of the pandemic and months before any vaccine, Israel's Defense Ministry assigned Schwartz to find a medical solution for COVID-19.
"Since Ivermectin is one of the drugs that we are using in daily life in the Tropical Institute, I knew it. I know the safety profile of it. And since there was some hints of in-vitro studies, which show the efficacy against specifically, even against COVID-19, we decided to go for it." That meant putting the drug through a clinical trial that lasted 10 months. "Our study, which was done here, it's a randomized controlled trial, double-blind. It's really, I would say, this is the best method that you are doing studies. And our conclusion is that it really has antiviral activities," Shwartz told CBN News.
"This is the first drug to show antiviral activity.
