Gen Z Study Shows Young Men Are Getting Serious About Faith
|
|
Three weeks ago I led a men’s discipleship event at a church in a suburb of Chicago. Some of the men traveled from as far away as Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington to attend the conference. Men of all ages were there, but a large percentage were 20-somethings. The young man who led worship that weekend is only 21. On the second night, crowds of men ran to the stage to receive prayer for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. One of the youngest who responded was Jason Vitorsky, a 12-year-old from Missouri. Another young man, Giuseppe Battaglia from Ohio, is 15. Both were excited to tell me the next morning that they had been filled with the Spirit at the altar. All the men spent three days worshipping, sharing meals, listening to sermons and opening their hearts in small groups. When the event ended on Saturday, nobody wanted to leave.
I don’t consider such moments unusual because I’ve led similar discipleship events for men for 15 years. I’ve witnessed growing spiritual hunger in the younger generation as I’ve mentored many young adult men. But today, even secular journalists are recognizing this as a spiritual trend. On Sept. 22, The New York Times ran an article titled “In a First Among Christians, Young Men Are More Religious Than Young Women.” The article’s author, Ruth Graham, interviewed Phil Barnes, a Southern Baptist pastor in Waco, Texas, who has seen an increasing number of young men joining his congregation, Hope Church. He admitted he has been curious about the trend. Barnes asked: “What’s the Lord doing? Why is he sending us all of these young men?” For decades, women have always been more involved in church than men. They are typically the ones who attend prayer meetings, teach children’s classes and, for the most part, keep the church going. But for the first time, statistics indicate that young men are attending Christian services more often than their female counterparts, and they are more likely to identify as religious. - Father, we rejoice in answered prayer for young men turning towards Jesus! May Your Holy Spirit continue to fall upon Gen Z and younger generations to awaken them for the call of Christ upon their lives. Return America's youth to Yahweh, so they may have hearts of repentance and a thirst for Your Holy Word. We are desperate for You, Abba! We declare our love for You and lift holy worship in PRAISE of Your faithful promises to Your children! In the powerful and transforming Name of Jesus Christ-Amen and Amen.
- "For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance." (Hebrews 9:15)

Hand of God Protects Israel From Massive Iranian Ballistic Missile Attack
|
|
On the last day of the Jewish year, Color Red Sirens sounded across the country as Iran launched a massive attack on Israel. Israel claimed that the Islamist regime fired at least 180 ballistic missiles, targeting cities all over the country and sending almost all of the ten million residents into shelters. The sole casualty reported was a 37-year-old Palestinian Arab man in the village of Nu’eima, near Jericho. Four other Palestinians were reportedly injured by shrapnel from the same missile near Jericho.
Two Israelis were injured by falling shrapnel and some damage and fires were reported.
Netanyahu warned that the Islamist regime of Iran had made a “big mistake tonight” and vowed that “it will pay for it.”
“The regime in Iran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to retaliate against our enemies,” said Netanyahu. “[Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar and [top Hamas military commander Muhammad] Deif did not understand this, [Hezbollah leader Hassan] Nasrallah and [Hezbollah chief of staff Fuad] Shukr did not understand this, and there are probably those in Tehran who do not understand this.” (Israel365News) Read more here.

- Abba, we are so thankful for Your hand of protection over Your land and people on Tuesday. You are truly a God of miracles and You showed the world that nothing is too hard for You! We know Your heart is for all of Your kids in Israel to come to know You, not just as Hashem, but as their Savior through meeting Your son, Jesus. Father God, we ask You to raise up believers in Israel, allow their relationship with You to so show forth Your glory, that everyone who does not know You, Jew and Gentile, will yearn for that intimacy with their God and Savior. We ask this in the name El Roi, The God Who Sees Everyone.

on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar."

Israel Said Mulling Attacks on Iran Oil Rigs, Nuclear Sites in Response to Missile Attack
|
|
by striking strategic infrastructure, such as gas or oil rigs, or by directly targeting Iran’s nuclear sites, media reports said on Wednesday, citing Israeli officials.
Targeted assassinations and attacks on Iran’s air defense systems are also possible responses, Axios
reported.
An attack on Iranian oil facilities could devastate the country’s economy, and any of the considered responses could mark another escalation, almost one year into the ongoing war that began when the Hamas terror group attacked Israel in October 2023.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a meeting with Israel’s security chiefs at the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv Wednesday, his office said in a statement. ( Read more)

- Abba, there is much discussion amongst the leadership of the US and Israel, of how to best respond to Iran's bombing of Israel on Tuesday. Father God, we don't look to PM Netanyahu or President Biden to know the best answer, we look to You for the right course of action. We ask Holy Spirit to move in power over the minds and hearts of all involved in making this decision, put Your thoughts, plans and reasons into their minds, guide their questions and answers as they work through the options. Give PM Netanyahu an awareness of Your presence as he talks through all of this, allow the weightiness of Your presence to rest on him, give him the assurance that You are there and working with him to again bring victory and success to Israel and failure to their enemies as You did on Tuesday. We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Host of Heaven's Armies.
- "In everything he did he had great success,
because the Lord was with him."

The Beginning of the End - Jack Hibbs with Amir Tsarfati
|
|
Pastor Jack and Amir Tsarfati discuss how the world is on the brink of a prophetic shift, as Israel's strategic victories against its enemies signal the unfolding of Biblical events.
|
|
- Abba, I so appreciate both Amir Tsarfati and Jack Hibbs knowledge and teachings. We stand with them and we stand with You. Father God, we ask for wisdom and understanding as we walk through the coming days, days that won't be like any we have walked through before. We ask Holy Spirit to speak hope and faith to our hearts as we watch world happenings, we ask for strength and courage to believe even when we don't see. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear You in places we don't expect to, in places that would create confusion and doubt. Jesus, we ask Holy Spirit to fall onYour kids all over the world, let Your healing power be so strong that people will be healed walking past our churches. Pour out rivers of revelation to your intercessors as we "listen and do" all that you call us to do. We ask this in the name Jehovah Shalom, The Lord our Peace.
- "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of
those who bring good news, who proclaim
peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion, "Your God reigns".

2. Three Major Problems Which Are Looming Over the US as the Month of October Begins – The Economic Collapse Blog
I have a feeling that October is going to be one of the most tumultuous months that we have seen in a really long time. Ports all along the East Coast and all along the Gulf Coast are about to shut down, and that could throw U.S. supply chains into a state of chaos for an extended period of time
. Meanwhile, vast areas of the South are just starting to recover from a “once in a generation storm” that has done about 100 billion dollars in total damage. Sadly, economic conditions in those states will not return to normal for the foreseeable future. On top of everything else, we are less than 40 days away from a presidential election which threatens to absolutely rip this country apart. If you can’t see the storm clouds that are rapidly approaching at this point, you must have your head in the sand.
|
|
- Father God, it is obvious that only those who turn to You will be able to survive the onslaught of events coming together to challenge our ability live everyday life and sustain our country's economy. We rejoice that we have a loving Father who guides us through tough times and shows us how we can help others. May our tithes and offerings be multiplied to reach those in need and may many be drawn to You during this time as we see government agencies falter and Your people fill in as needed.
-"For He will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper." (Psalms 72:12)

3. Behind the Scenes: RNCs Strategy for Election Integrity This Year – Discern Report
As the November elections draw near, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is ramping up efforts to ensure election integrity across the country.
According to a recent memo from Gineen Bresso and Josh Helton, the RNC’s director and senior advisor for election integrity, respectively, the organization has mobilized an unprecedented army of support, boasting hundreds of thousands of volunteers and thousands of trained attorneys.
As reported by The Daily Caller, the numbers speak for themselves: over 219,712 volunteers have signed up, 5,077 attorneys have been recruited, and 2,004 training sessions have been conducted.
This formidable effort underscores the RNC’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process. The memo details how the organization has devoted significant resources to bolster election security, employing 115 full-time staff members dedicated to volunteer training at the state level. - Our Omniscient Lord, we know You see all that is going on and all that is out of order in the election process in this country. We pray that You would oversee the voting in the upcoming election so that no fraud is committed and that the measures that the RNC has taken will be all that is needed to insure that it is an election that is not hijacked by evil people. We bless these people to be able to accurately observe and quickly report all inappropriate actions to authorities who will take immediate action. We pray for angels to surround and protect all polling places and point out discrepancies in mail-in ballots. Thank You, Lord, for insuring that we have Your choice for high office in our country.
- "Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace." (Psalms 37:37)

4. By Seeking Victory, Israel Turns Washington’s Worldview Upside Down – Prophecy NewsWatch
Since Oct. 7, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has largely played by the rules set down by his American allies. Though it didn't spare him from constant unfair criticism in which President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken often echoed Hamas propaganda about civilian casualties in Gaza, Netanyahu was determined to avoid an open split with the United States.
But in the last weeks as he began serious efforts to force Hezbollah and its Iranian paymasters to back down and stop firing on northern Israel, the prime minister is trying something different. Rather than be tied into the futile and self-defeating Biden policy that treats diplomacy as an end unto itself, he has chosen a strategy that gives his nation a reasonable chance to achieve victory over its enemies.
This has proven to be as great a shock to Washington as it has been to Tehran and its Hezbollah auxiliaries in Lebanon. As a series of articles in The New York Times, acting as always as the reliable mouthpiece of the administration and the foreign-policy establishment, has made clear, the expert class thinks Netanyahu has gone rogue. From their point of view, he has exposed Biden as unable to "control" what the administration still considers a dependent minor ally and to prevent a war that it wants no part of, regardless of the consequences. 5. Biden-Kamala Burns $1 Billion in FEMA Funds to Resettle Illegal Immigrants – FEMA Now Lacks Resources for Disaster Response! The Gateway Pundit
As Hurricane Helene tears through the eastern seaboard, leaving devastation in its wake, the mismanagement of FEMA under the Biden-Harris regime is hitting home with deadly consequences.
The storm’s ferocious winds and torrential rains have claimed at least 190 lives, left millions without power, and trapped countless families in floodwaters across North Carolina and beyond. Entire communities have been cut off from vital resources, with citizens scrambling for help.
Yet, in the face of this national disaster, the Biden-Harris administration’s FEMA appears woefully unprepared.
Why? Because over the past two years, they have funneled more than $1 billion in taxpayer dollars away from American disaster relief efforts — and into the pockets of illegal immigrants. (Read more)

7. US port workers and operators reach deal to end East Coast strike immediately, union says - USA Today
NEW YORK/WASHINGTON — U.S. dock workers and port operators have reached a tentative deal that will immediately end a three-day strike that has shut down shipping on the U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast, the International Longshoremen's Association union and the United States Maritime Alliance said on Thursday.
The tentative agreement is for a wage hike of around 62% over six years, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters. The workers union had been seeking a 77% raise while the employer group previously raised its offer to a nearly 50% hike.
The deal ends the the biggest work stoppage of its kind in nearly half a century, which blocked unloading of container ships from Maine to Texas and threatened shortages of everything from bananas to auto parts, triggering a backlog of anchored ships outside major ports. (Read more)

Dems and Media Turn Up Assassination Dog Whistle
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, October 3, 2024
After two assassination attempts on former president Donald Trump, one would think that Democratic Party mouthpieces and the media would tone down the hate speech rhetoric. Not the case. On September 25’s MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said in reference to Trump, “Let’s extinguish [Trump] for good…Let’s just get it done.” Long-time Democratic Party consultant/pundit James Carville said in a September 27 Youtube video that Trump is inhuman. Joe Biden said on a September 25 episode of “The View” that Trump doesn’t have a “lot of social redeeming value,” likened him as a terrorist to world leaders, and mimicked smashing Trump like a bug.
Seemingly to want to ensure the audience that Raimondo didn’t mean Trump should be assassinated, Co-Host Mika Brzezinski asked her to clarify. Then Raimondo said, ““Vote him out. Banish him from American politics, yes. Just vote him out so that he goes away. [Vice President Kamala Harris’] new way forward, her vision, let’s turn the page on his chaos and craziness, vindictiveness, wrongheaded economic strategy, hatred towards women, and move forward.” Raimondo’s remarks were prefaced by a tirade on Trump’s abortion policy, essentially saying that Trump deserved death for trying to save the lives of the unborn, obviously cloaked in the Democratic Party’s dog whistle terms for murdering children in the womb under the name of “women’s healthcare.” Read More

Up to 1,000 Troops Deploying to North Carolina, Other Helene Impacted Areas
|
|
|
President Joe Biden’s administration said Wednesday that he is sending up to 1,000 active-duty soldiers to North Carolina and other states to deliver food, water, and other critical items following Hurricane Helene.
Troops will be deployed starting Wednesday, said the White House in a statement, and they will work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to reach areas that were impacted by the storm. Most of the troops will be focused on North Carolina, it said.
“These soldiers will speed up the delivery of life-saving supplies of food, water, and medicine to isolated communities in North Carolina—they have the manpower and logistical capabilities to get this vital job done, and fast,” Biden said in the statement. “They will join hundreds of North Carolina National Guard members deployed under State authorities in support of the response.”
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said earlier this week that entire communities in the western part of the state were “wiped off the map” due to the flooding.
Charlotte City Councilman Tariq Bokhari posted a video on X showing the devastation at Lake Lure, calling it “post-apocalyptic. It’s so overwhelming. You don’t even know how to fathom what recovery looks like, let alone where to start,” Bokhari wrote.
Hurricane Helene tore through Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas, leaving millions without power and water. At least 166 people have died in the storm, while hundreds are still missing, officials have said.
Throughout North Carolina, some 300 roads were closed, more than 7,000 people registered for FEMA assistance, and the National Guard was flying 1,000 tons of food and water to remote areas by plane and helicopter, officials said Tuesday. (Read more)

- Lord God, we have no words. Our hearts break as we weep with those mourning the loss of loved ones and the loss of homes, businesses and whole communities. Lord, we can see that many victims impacted by Helene are intent on helping others also in great need. We praise You for this Christ-like spirit, and for the many volunteers coming from all over to help with the devastation. Bless the organizations that show up, crisis after crisis, to help with the immediate needs of the victims. May the finances and volunteers come forth as needed.
We thank You for the NC National Guard helping to restore; and, now, 1,000 federal troops to assist as per Biden’s order on Wednesday. Father, we are so sorry that the federal government did little until now to help when time is and has been of the essence. The help being sent now seems more like an afterthought. We are so disturbed that the current administration has authorized billions for the care of illegal aliens in our midst, contrasting a paltry sum for our own citizens in critical need. Lord forgive, Lord help; in Your mercy we pray the upcoming election would bring righteous changes and integrity to Washington, D.C.
God bless President Trump for his visits to stricken areas, the truckloads of supplies he ordered, and the $25 million personal donation for dire needs of the citizens. Thank you for the burros that can carry goods into places vehicles cannot reach at this time. We pray for scent-hounds to be brought in to find the living that need to be rescued as well as those that have perished so that families may have closure. Lord, please make much good come out of this tragic, horrible event. We pray that there be no more hurricanes this season, in Yeshua’s name!
- "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." (Hebrews 13:16)
“But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.” (Like 10:33-34)

Sunday Scaries or Sabbath Satisfaction?
|
|
|
A recent survey of 2,000 American adults found that a feeling called the “Sunday Scaries” is disturbingly common, afflicting “the average American” 36 times per year (out of 52 weeks in total). According to the survey, conducted by Talker Research in partnership with Pacific Foods, this “anxiety (32%) or dread (17%) over what to expect for the following week” begins at 3:54 p.m., on average. In answer to this stressed, fearful, anxious fact of our culture, Scripture blows a refreshing gust of biblical wisdom: it doesn’t have to be this way.
The “Sunday Scaries” are not a new discovery; a 2022 LinkedIn survey found that 80% of Americans experienced it, while a Newsweek reporter confidently asserted that this phenomenon is something “we’ve all felt.” But this phenomenon does seem to be on the rise, with Gen Z respondents feeling it most acutely — 74% experience it at least once a month, and some even report that their “Sunday Scaries” begin at 6 a.m.!
Too many distractions may be part of the problem. Fifty-one percent of survey respondents binge-watch TV shows on Sundays, while 29% avoided contemplating the week ahead by immersing themselves in social media. Those escapist activities have never made anyone feel less anxious.
Not all Sunday activities were so unproductive. When asked what they “wish they had more time for on Sundays,” respondents also gave answers like “visiting loved ones” (17%), “going for a walk” (12%), and “yardwork” (10%).
But notably absent from the Top 15 list of desired Sunday activities is the most important of all: going to church. Perhaps, if people spent more time worshiping God and thinking about the things of God, they would be less anxious about their week ahead. (The Washington

- Abba, we confess that far too often we do not honor the Sabbath as we go about the business of our lives without spending the Sabbath resting in You and resting from our labors. We know that time spent worshipping You and listening to the Holy Spirit minister to us through the truth of Your word and the body of Christ can make all of the difference in how we face and process the known and unknown in our circumstances and news of events--good-bad-and horrible--throughout the world in the week ahead. Abba, You knew that our spirits, souls and bodies would need time to recover and be renewed and refreshed at least once a week. As our beloved Father, You modeled this behavior as You observed a day of rest when Creation was finished.
Father, You surely do know best! Thank You for Your abundant love, care and concern for Your children, and all of creation, in that You gave us the Bible--our owner’s manual! As we choose to live according to Your precepts and to obey Your commands, we, Your ‘kids’, will experience the abundant life of love, joy, peace and provision. Thank You for the guidance and direction that are the height of wisdom and truth throughout the universe. Holy Spirit, empower us to live rightly while not getting caught up in legalism.
- “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Western North Carolina Apocalypse: My Thoughts and Prayer
By: Anne Graham Lotz

In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them…Isaiah 63:9
My heart is broken. My tears unending. My mind reeling from the images coming out of Western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The destruction is beyond belief!
So many of you have written, texted, emailed and called to express your heartfelt concern and prayers. Thank you!
Invariably I’m being asked, “How is your family?” “How is your father’s house?” Everyone of my family who live in the area have been accounted for. My father’s house, as I understand, is intact, although the road to it is impassable...

The “federal relief and assistance that we have been providing has included FEMA providing $750 for folks who need immediate needs being met, such as food, baby formula, and the like. And you can apply now,” Harris said during her Wednesday visit to Augusta, Georgia, according to a White House transcript of her comments. (Read more)

The Draconid Meteor Shower Will Rain Down on Earth in October—And Is Famous for Meteor Storms
|
|
It will be a dark night, the moon merely a slim crescent, when the October meteors are expected to fly in fiery shots across the sky. These famed meteors, the Draconids, are known for their extraordinary outbursts of shooting stars, with many over the years culminating in great meteor storms of several thousand meteors per hour.
Experts say a raucous meteor storm probably won’t happen this October. But then again, with meteors, no one really knows for sure.
Fortunately for all who want to catch this meteor shower, the Draconids aren’t like others that make you wait up all night. Just as darkness falls in the evening, the point where they emanate from, the radiant, rises to the top of the sky—unlike other showers that rise in the wee hours. When the radiant is high, that’s the best time for viewing meteors.
Though meteors are notoriously hard to predict, astronomers anticipate the Draconids to peak on Oct. 7 at 11:00 p.m. EDT and continue through into the wee hours of Oct. 8. Overall, they'll be short-lived, lasting from Oct. 6 through Oct. 10. Read More

"Work willingly at whatever you do; as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." (Col. 3:23)
|
|
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
