Kevin McCarthy Ousted From House Speakership
|
|
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has been removed as House speaker by a vote of the House of Representatives on a motion to vacate the chair brought by a member of his own party.
The unprecedented action plunges the House into what is certain to be a contentious speaker’s battle as it simultaneously battles the calendar to complete the appropriations process and continues its impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden.
The 216–210 vote was a significant—and ironic—victory for firebrand Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who rallied just seven Republicans to join him as he relied on Democrats to oust Mr. McCarthy.
One of Mr. Gaetz’s principal complaints against the speaker was that he had passed legislation with Democratic votes that a majority of Republicans opposed.
Mr. McCarthy, who won the gavel in January after 15 ballot rounds, had held the gavel for 9 months.
At the conclusion of the debate, the vote was taken by calling the roll.
Republicans Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Ken Buck (Colo.), Tim Burchett (Tenn.), Eli Crane (Ariz.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Bob Good (Va.), Nancy Mace (S.C.), and Matt Rosendale (Mont.) were joined by 208 Democrats in removing Mr. McCarthy from the chair.
By House rule, Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) was declared speaker pro tempore, to serve until the election of a new speaker.
The speaker pro tempore put the House in recess immediately to allow both parties to caucus before meeting again to elect Mr. McCarthy’s replacement. (Epoch Times)

California Governor Gavin Newsom Appoints LGBT Activist,
Laphonza Butler, to Fill Senate Seat Vacated by Diane Feinstein

Do you see the footprint? That's a living child, created by Almighty God. And in blatant wickedness, the current Governor of California, Gavin Newsome, has appointed to the vacant Senate seat of dead Diane Feinstein, the head of one of the nation's largest "child-death-in-the womb" leaders, pro-abortion and LGBTQ activist Laphonza Butler. In reaction, Susan B. Anthony's President, Marjorie Dannenfelser, issued the following:
“The abortion lobby spends millions to elect Democrats who back its agenda of abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy, paid for by taxpayers. Democrats like Newsom, in turn, are beholden to the abortion lobby. The pay-to-play system couldn’t be more obvious, with an unelected Senate seat as the ultimate reward. Newsom even passed over staunch pro-abortion candidates who reside in California, in favor of a Beltway insider and the biggest pro-abortion extremist he could find.
“The last thing Washington needs is another rubber stamp for the brutal abortion industry. Biden likewise heads the most radical pro-abortion administration in history. Voters need to realize the days of ‘safe, legal and rare’ are gone – today’s Democratic Party stands for abortion any time, for any reason with no limits up to birth. Republicans should stand up for life and embrace at least minimum national protections at 15 weeks, when babies in the womb feel pain, and go on offense to contrast themselves with their opponents’ extremism.”

EMILY’s List appeared to scrub its website of a reference to Butler’s Maryland residence in the hours after her appointment was announced. The group spent $112 million in the 2020 presidential election cycle and $102 million in the 2022 midterms. According to OpenSecrets, in the last federal election cycle, EMILY’s List made 100% of their total contributions in support of Democrats.
Laphonza Butler also identifies as a lesbian, and claims to be "married" to another woman. So please join me in praying for her salvation. Like each one of us, she faces in this "vapor" (James 4:14) of a short lifetime, eternal perishing without God unless she repents (Luke 13:1-5).

- We are not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). This wickedness is another is a series of calls to you and me, that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). In the face of this attack, we are to be filled with His Victorious Holy Spirit, BOLD as Ambassadors for Christ:

Join with me in boldly stating these key verses out loud, including the call from Paul in the last verses:
" Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints---and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."

All of the armor listed above is not just a passive protection in facing the enemy; it is to be used offensively against these satanic forces. You can be loving, you can be kind, and at the same time BOLD for Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit Truth inside of you to speak to the evil spirits as the Lord may direct. Sharing your testimony, including how you are now repenting as a regular practice towards His holiness, helps to defeat the enemy (Revelation 12:11!)
And the more you take time with the Lord to repent, the cleaner your vessel, and the more BOLD for Christ you will become.

“Sixth Circuit Delivers Devastating Blow to Trans Activists”

(1) Last night, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals delivered a devastating ruling for the trans cult. No other court decision has so thoroughly dismantled, point-by-point, every disingenuous argument from trans activists.
The case arose because of laws in TN & KY banning the use of puberty blockers & sterilizing cross-sex hormones on kids.
(2) The laws were passed after my reporting on Vanderbilt’s gender clinic, and how they see some gender “treatments” as big money makers. x.com/MattWalshBlog/…
(3) Trans activists were apoplectic. The ACLU went to court. Initially, they convinced a judge to block it. I said at the time that the judge’s ruling was terrible & would be overturned. But admittedly, I had no idea how bad it would be for the trans cult.
(4) First, the ruling establishes that voters have the right to ban medical procedures they believe are immoral or dangerous. That’s true regardless of what the “experts” at Big Pharma say.
(5) Then the court explains that voters have very good reason to believe that so-called “gender-affirming care” – including puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones – is dangerous. The court notes that many countries have started banning them.
(6) The court goes on to state that WPATH – the standard-setting organization for “trans healthcare” – counseled against using hormones and puberty blockers on minors from 1979 to 2000. Even now, WPATH admits there is “limited data” supporting their use.

Who is Patrick McHenry, speaker pro tempore of House following McCarthy's ouster?

|
Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., is the new temporary leader of the House of Representatives after former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was removed from his post Tuesday afternoon in a nail-biting vote.
House rules dictated that McCarthy, upon his election as speaker in January, provide a secret list of members to succeed him as speaker pro tempore should the office be vacated as it was with his removal. It was revealed following the vote to oust McCarthy that McHenry was at the top of the list.
McHenry, a former media consultant and political operative, was first elected to the House to represent North Carolina's 10th Congressional District in 2004. He was selected as the House Republican chief deputy whip in 2015 and served in the role until 2019. He was selected as chair of the House Financial Services Committee in January.
Now that he is speaker pro tempore, he has the powers of the House speaker to guide the chamber in its continued operation until a new speaker is elected.
Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., told Fox the plan was to have a candidate forum on Tuesday and a vote on who would succeed McCarthy on Wednesday. (Fox News) Read more here.

1. Israeli, Saudi sources: US focus on Palestinians harming normalization - JNS
There is growing frustration among Israeli and Saudi officials over what they see as an overemphasis by Washington on having Jerusalem make concessions to the Palestinians as a means of moving forward in the normalization process between the kingdom and the Jewish state.
Sources familiar with the ongoing talks said the Biden administration’s focus on this has hampered the process’s momentum and obstructed possible breakthroughs.
One source noted that on the big issues—including a possible U.S.-Saudi defense alliance that would come alongside a new civilian nuclear program in the kingdom—there are no insurmountable gaps because the disagreements are not substantial. (Read more)

2. Revealed: Hundreds of millions of shekels added to Israeli aid to Palestinians - Israel Hayom
Israel has recently slashed the gasoline tax it had been collecting from the Palestinian Authority by 50% as well as taken other measures to ease the financial situation in Ramallah, Israel Hayom has learned. The 1994 economic accords between Israel and the Palestinians stipulate a 3% rate but Israel has recently decided to collect only half the amount, at 1.5%, as shown in a recent document signed by the IDF Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories office several days ago. This will save some NIS 80 million ($20 million) for the PA on an annual basis.
Other measures that Israel has taken to help the Palestinians financially since the start of 2023 add up to some NIS 270 million ($70 million). This includes more transfers of taxes collected on behalf of the PA, amounting to a major upgrade compared to about half a million shekels only three years ago. This, despite many of the goods ostensibly being sent to the PA never making it there because of a fraudulent ploy by importers.
Other financial measures have totaled some NIS 350 million ($90 million) since the new government has been sworn in.
The Biden administration has been pressuring Israel to increase the aid to the Palestinians' economy, saying that the PA is on the verge of collapse. But the Israeli willingness to play along despite PA leader Mahmoud Abbas continuing to pay terrorists has outraged some US congress members, with some saying that the president's increase of aid to the Palestinians runs against US law (and specifically the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits funding to the Palestinians so long as the "pay-for-slay" policy continues). 3. Arab mob attacks Israelis visiting Joseph’s Tomb injuring one - World Israel News
Palestinian stone-throwers on Monday lightly injured an Israeli among a group of five Jews who came under attack while visiting Joseph’s Tomb on the outskirts of Shechem (Nablus).
Palestinian Authority security forces rescued the Israelis and transferred them to the IDF.
The Israelis had not received permission for or coordinated the pilgrimage in advance.
According to the 1995 Oslo II Agreement, the tomb complex is an enclave under Israeli security control within Area A under full Palestinian control. (Read more)

4. Nasrallah: Normalization with Israel is an assault on al-Aqsa - Jerusalem Post
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah condemned efforts by Saudi Arabia and other nations to normalize relations with Israel, calling such moves "an attack on al-Aqsa and an abandonment of Palestine" in a speech on Monday night.
“The Zionists must hear the voice of the Islamic world regarding the first qibla of Muslims (another name for al-Aqsa), and instead of hearing this voice, we find more movement towards normalization,” lamented the Hezbollah leader. “Any country that might sign a normalization agreement must be condemned because it is an attack on the Palestinian people and the al-Aqsa Mosque and strengthens the enemy.”
Nasrallah called for Arab countries to “bear responsibility for what is happening in Palestine, regardless of its preoccupations, and to also pay attention to what is happening to Al-Aqsa Mosque, so that the violation does not become a routine matter, and so it will not be divided in time and space or transformed into a Jewish synagogue.” (Read more)

5. IDF reportedly strikes Iranian weapons shipment near Damascus - Times of Israel
The Israel Defense Forces reportedly carried out airstrikes near Damascus after midnight on Sunday, targeting an Iranian weapons shipment that appeared to be making its way to Lebanon.
The airstrikes were reported by news sites affiliated with the Syrian opposition and were not confirmed by state media.
The strikes targeting sites belonging to the Syrian army and pro-Iranian militia groups took place in al-Dimas, just west of Damascus, the reports said. (Read more)

1. US Supreme Court Rejects Challenge to Block Trump in 2024 - Epoch Times
The U.S. Supreme Court on Oct. 2 declined to take a longshot challenge to former President Donald Trump's eligibility to appear on New Hampshire's ballots during the 2024 election.
John Anthony Castro filed an appeal with the Supreme Court several weeks ago and claimed that the former president should be disqualified under a reading of a section of the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment. Mr. Castro, a Texas lawyer who's running for president, claimed that President Trump partook in an insurrection against the federal government because of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach.

2. Biden Admin Releases Most Restrictive Offshore Oil And Gas Drilling Plan In US History - The Daily Caller
The Biden administration on Friday unveiled the most restrictive offshore oil and gas five-year leasing program in history.
The Department of the Interior (DOI) announced the plan, which allows for three offshore oil and gas lease sales through 2029, with sales in 2025, 2027 and 2029. That schedule represents the lowest number of sales that the administration could have pursued while maintaining its ability to push offshore wind development under provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and it is the “smallest number of oil and gas lease sales in history,” according to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland.
“The Biden-Harris administration is committed to building a clean energy future that ensures America’s energy independence,” Haaland said of the schedule’s release.

3. Pope Francis opens possibility for blessing same-sex unions - ABC News
Pope Francis suggested it may be possible to bless same-sex unions in a newly public response to cardinals who questioned the pope's affirmation of the LGBTQ community in the Catholic Church.
In the July letter, which is written in Spanish, he reaffirmed that "the Church has a very clear understanding of marriage: an exclusive, stable, and indissoluble union between a man and a woman, naturally open to procreation," according to the Vatican News. However, he advocated for "pastoral charity."
"The defense of objective truth is not the only expression of this charity; it also includes kindness, patience, understanding, tenderness and encouragement. Therefore, we cannot be judges who only deny, reject and exclude," he said, according to Vatican News. He added that "pastoral prudence must adequately discern whether there are forms of blessing, requested by one or more persons, that do not convey a mistaken concept of marriage." (Read more)

Oh Abba, we are so grateful to walk with our holy God who does not change with the times or seasons, but stands firm in His word, and shows the way to cleansing and redemption through Jesus alone. We pray for divine avenues of reaching out to this lost multitude of people involved in same-sex relations, with the love of God that leads to salvation, but not in any way to compromise Your word and accept sin in the camp, in Jesus name. We pray for this pope to walk in a biblical mindset and that his followers are filled with a deep yearning to know the word of God.

4. Day One of NY trial against Trump ends with bombshell development - DML News
As former President Donald Trump left the Manhattan courthouse at the end of the first day of a $250 million civil case trial on Monday, he announced what appears to be a bombshell development in the case.
Monday evening, Trump said the last five minutes of today’s trial was “outstanding,” because “the judge essentially could see that the statute of limitations that we won at the Court of Appeals is in effect, and therefore about 80% of the case is over.”
“The judge’s last statement was very fair,” Trump said.
Trump’s attorney said, “Based on the judge’s comments at the end of the trial today, he is agreeing that all transactions enclosed prior to 2014 are now out of the case.” (Read more)

5. Biden Admin Moves 2K Migrants from Packed Border Facility to Release Elsewhere in Texas - Brietbart
The Biden administration is in the process of moving 2,000 migrants from an overcrowded Border Patrol processing facility in Eagle Pass, Texas, according to a CBP source. The mass transfer of detainees began early Monday and is aimed to alleviate the strain on Border Patrol facilities and a non-government shelter overwhelmed by the influx of more than 1,000 migrants into Eagle Pass daily.
As reported by Breitbart Texas, the sudden surge of migrants began two weeks prior as more than 1,500 migrants crossed the Rio Grande within six hours. The migrants traveled to the border area from southern and central Mexico by freight train. Within days, single groups of mostly Venezuelan migrants numbering more nearly 3,000 strong arrived almost daily in the same manner.
At the height of the current migrant surge on Thursday, more than 20,000 migrants were being detained by the Border Patrol nationwide, according to the CBP source. The soft-sided processing facility in Eagle Pass, commonly referred to by Border Patrol agents as “Firefly,” is meant to accommodate 1,000 migrant detainees. It has been holding roughly 5,000 migrants of late. (Read more)

6. Opposition grows to proposed Chinese battery plant subsidized by Illinois taxpayers - Just The News
Opposition is building against a proposed Chinese battery plant for Manteno in Kankakee County.
Gotion Incorporated, with reported ties to the Chinese Communist Party, is set to receive more than $7 billion in federal tax credits, and over $500 million in subsidies from Illinois.
During a news conference Monday in Manteno, State Rep. Brad Halbrook, R-Shelbyville, said the tax incentives don’t add up.
“The total subsidies for the plant calculate to an astounding $3 million for each job created,” Halbrook said. “Why are U.S. taxpayers providing $8 billion in economic incentives for the construction of a plant that costs $2 billion to build?” (Read more)

7. List of Appliances the Energy Department Plans to Target Within the Next 12 Months - Epoch Times
The Biden administration’s energy department has plans to regulate a wide range of appliances used by Americans under the agency’s evolving “energy conservation standards.”
Just a few days back, the DOE announced new energy efficiency standards for residential gas furnaces—the latest in a wave of restrictions, which had earlier covered pool pumps, battery chargers, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers, gas stoves, and incandescent light bulbs, among others.

The Biden administration revealed in a leaked confidential strategy document that they are far more worried about corruption in Ukraine than they publicly admit, according to a report by Politico.
According to the report, the document warned that “perceptions of high-level corruption [could] undermine the Ukrainian public’s and foreign leaders’ confidence in the war-time effort.”
That assessment was not included in a public version of the document which was posted on the State Department’s website about a month ago. The document included “numerous steps” Washington is taking to help Kyiv root out corruption, which it said could cause Western allies to abandon Ukraine’s fight against Russia. (Read more)

Study Indicates COVID 19 Vaccines
Caused 17 Million Deaths

A correlation study of all-cause mortality and COVID 19 “vaccine” deployment indicates there were 17 million COVID 19 vaccine-related deaths worldwide from 13.5 billion injections as of September 2. In fact, the study found that the overall risk of death induced by COVID 19 vaccines is “much larger than reported in clinical trials, adverse effect monitoring, and cause-of-death statistics from death certificates, by 3 orders of magnitude (1,000-fold greater).” Scientists from Correlation Research in the Public Interest, who conducted the study, said the COVID 19 vaccinations were a mass iatrogenic event that killed approximately two-tenths of the world population and “did not measurably prevent any deaths.”
Correlation Research in the Public Interest is a non-profit organization dedicated to conducting independent scientific research on topics of public interest. The study of 17 equatorial and Southern-Hemisphere countries (Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Malaysia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay) was comprised of 10.3% of worldwide COVID 19 injections, virtually every vaccine type and manufacturer, across four continents. The researchers analyzed all-cause mortality using the World Mortality Dataset and calculated excess deaths in relationship to vaccine deployment. 2 eclipses, meteor showers to thrill
skywatchers in October

October will be a good month for weekend stargazers as each weekend will feature a different astronomical event, ranging from meteor showers to two types of eclipses.
The cool and crisp autumn weather will mean skywatchers and night owls may need to dig out hoodies and heavy coats from the closet before spending time outside soaking in views of the cosmos.
From a ring of fire to a flurry of shooting stars, here are the astronomy events in October that you won't want to miss.
Oct. 8-9: Draconid meteor shower
The first full weekend of October will conclude with the Draconids, a meteor shower that is predicted to peak after sunset on Sunday, Oct. 8.
The early-October event brings only about 10 meteors per hour, but it is an oddity, as it peaks in the evening hours rather than late at night like many other meteor showers, according to EarthSky. With the peak activity expected shortly after nightfall, people won't have to lose much sleep while outside hoping to make a wish on a shooting star.
Oct. 14: 'Ring of fire' solar eclipse
The sun, moon and Earth will align on Saturday, Oct. 14, to create a solar eclipse that will be visible across part of North America.
Unlike a total solar eclipse when the moon completely blocks out the sun, the upcoming event will be an annular solar eclipse, with the moon not entirely appearing big enough in the sky to cover the face of the sun. The result is a halo of sunlight around the moon, giving the event the nickname of a "ring of fire" eclipse. Read More

David Baker had stage four melanoma. A tumor on the side of his face had grown so huge he couldn't see out of his right eye, and he could barely eat. Doctors said there was nothing they could do for him. David was suffering more and more, day by day. Still, he managed to get to church on Easter morning, and that's where he received a miracle.
"When you're going to the doctor and you hear nothing encouraging, that's when your faith, it's going to have to stand," says Jerilyn Baker. In November 2020, her husband David started having constant nose bleeds. Doctors removed a polyp from his sinus cavity. But soon after, things got worse. Jerilyn remembers, "When his face began to swell I thought, he's got an infection. And I told him, 'We need to contact the doctor quickly.'" The results of a CT scan shocked the family. David's brother-in-law, Chuck Denny was there. "They told him he had stage four nasal cavity melanoma," says Chuck. "They said surgery wasn't an option. Cause of the facial disfigurement would be too massive."
Jerilyn felt hopeless, "They told us that, that there was really nothing that they could do. Chemo wasn't for that type that he had. You know my first thought was in my teaching is that we need to move into a fast and seek God and see God heal," says Jerilyn. David's face rapidly swelled to the point where he couldn't eat or see out of his right eye. Pastor Marl Gilbert remembers the many prayers from multiple church locations and beyond.
On Easter morning, Dr. Tom Renfro and his wife, Sid, were visiting their church for a special prayer service. Remembering her husband's own miraculous healing from cancer, Sid was moved with compassion to pray for David. Sid remembers, "When I prayed for David, I don't touch people's head. I normally just touch their shoulders, but I did touch his face because I wanted to be very specific and very direct." Jerilyn watched, "I remember standing there and I thought that's going to come off in her hand because you could feel such a presence of God's Spirit." Sid continues, "I prayed the prayer that my dad had prayed. 'By this time tomorrow, this side of your face will look like this side of your face' because that prayer had worked for my dad."
