Rishi Sunak, who will be the new British new prime minister after becoming Conservative party leader on Monday, is considered a strong supporter of Israel and a friend of the UK’s Jewish community.
At a Conservative Friends of Israel event in August, Sunak declared Jerusalem is “indisputably the historic capital” of Israel and that there was a “very strong case” for moving the UK embassy from its current location in Tel Aviv.
“It’s something I’d like to do,” he said.
But Sunak, a former Treasury chief, also acknowledged “sensitivities” over the issue.

1. Biden to host Israeli President Isaac Herzog as sign of close ties - JNS
(October 25, 2022 / JNS) Israeli President Isaac Herzog embarked for Washington on Monday night where he is slated to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
The Israeli leader is also scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, as well as with Jewish leaders and Congress members.
Before he left Israel, Herzog said he planned to discuss “important developments in our region, from the Abraham Accords to the gas deal with Lebanon, and of course to our desire and hope to have more nations join the circle of regional peace. Of course, most importantly the Iranian threat, which is destabilizing not only the Middle East but the entire world, requiring a firm and united stand against it.” (Read More)

2. 'Threats of Iran pale compared to our internal challenges' - Israel National News
Addressing the Sderot conference at the Kay Academic College of Education in Be'er Sheva, former IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Col. Gadi Eisenkott blasted MK Itamar Ben Gvir, alleging that "only someone who hasn’t served in the army wouldn’t know that the one who sets the rules of engagement is the Chief of Staff.”
Regarding coalition formation with the Joint List, he said: "I don't see a point in the partnership with the Joint List. They want an All Citizen’s state, meaning we can't execute operations like the one which took place last night with them in the coalition. Any talk about the Muslim Brotherhood as part of the coalition is irrelevant."
Regarding the issue of the captive soldiers in Gaza, he noted: "Unfortunately, I failed in my mission.”
“We have a huge debt that will only be paid once Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin return to Israel for proper burial,” he said. (Read more)

3. IDF eliminates Nablus terror group leader, destroys explosives lab - Israel Hayom
Israeli forces destroyed overnight Tuesday the infrastructure hub of the Lion's Den terror group in Nablus, according to reports.
In a joint operation, the IDF, Shin Bet security agency and the Yamam national counter-terrorism unit raided the old city, or kasbah, of Nablus, destroying the group's explosives workshop.
Forces came under fire and Palestinians burden tires and threw stones at troops. The PA's Health Ministry said five Palestinians were killed and 21 were wounded in the clashes. (Read more)

4. Israeli seriously wounded in stabbing attack, teen terrorist arrested - World Israel News
An Israeli man was stabbed in a Palestinian terror attack in Samaria on Tuesday evening, the Israeli military said.
The IDF immediately launched a manhunt for the terrorist, who escaped after stabbing the 55-year-old victim outside the Palestinian village of al-Funduq, near the Israeli community of Kedumim. Later in the evening, they arrested the suspect – 19-year-old Younis Hilan from the village of Haija, near Qalqilya.
The victim was seriously injured and treated at the scene before being evacuated to hospital by paramedics.
“According to passersby, the man was attacked when he entered a store inside the village,” one paramedic said, adding that he was stabbed in the stomach. (Read more)

5. Gantz talks to Ukrainian counterpart about Israel’s offer of missile warning system - Times of Israel
Defense Minister Benny Gantz spoke Monday with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov in a call his office described as “positive,” despite tensions between the countries over Jerusalem’s refusal to provide Kyiv with defensive weaponry.
The discussion included Israel’s offer to help Ukraine build an early warning system to notify citizens of incoming aerial threats such as missiles, rockets and attack drones.
The two spoke by phone after Ukraine’s ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk told Hebrew language media last week that Gantz had unexpectedly canceled a long-awaited call with Reznikov, causing “disappointment” in Kyiv. (Read more)

1. Progressives withdraw letter to Biden urging Ukraine diplomacy after backlash - Washington Examiner
Progressive Democrats have withdrawn a letter they sent to President Joe Biden urging for the administration to reemphasize diplomacy in the war in Ukraine.
A group of 30 House liberals signed the letter, which was dated on Monday praising the administration’s continued support for Ukraine’s self-defense but arguing that it must be combined with “vigorous diplomatic efforts in support of a negotiated settlement and ceasefire” through “direct talks with Russia,” to include measures that protect a “free and independent” Ukraine.
The letter spurred backlash from members of both parties, which pushed Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), the chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the lead on the letter, to withdraw the letter after issuing a clarifying remark. Other Democratic members who signed the letter distanced themselves from it, with some revealing the letter had been signed over the summer and saying the war has changed. (Read more)

2. Joe Biden was 'complicit in SIX alleged white collar crimes' - The Daily Mail
President Joe Biden is listed as an 'accomplice' in six alleged white collar crimes in an explosive 634-page report on the contents of Hunter's laptop by a right wing transparency organization, obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com. The incendiary report by nonprofit Marco Polo, a right-wing transparency group, details accusations of 459 crimes allegedly committed by Hunter including prostitution offenses, distribution and possession of drugs, defrauding government agencies, illegal foreign lobbying and money laundering.
The report - published by founder Garrett Ziegler, a 26-year-old former Trump White House aide - claims that Joe is complicit in tax evasion, violations of the Presidential Records Act and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), and using nonpublic information from a government job for financial gain.
The six incidents involving Joe listed in the report span from June 2010 to December 2016.
The report come days after DailyMail.com reported a White House lawyer had sent Hunter and his business partner emails about then-Vice President Joe Biden's taxes in 2010, calling into question the president's claim that he had no financial link to his son.

3. Yellen on Criticisms of Spending: People ‘Got the Support They Needed’ - Brietbart
During an interview with NBC News on Monday broadcast on Monday’s edition of MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour,” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen responded to criticisms that the government has spent too much money by stating that people “know that they got the support they needed to get through a horrible pandemic.” And stated that President Joe Biden’s economic team did “the best we could” and urged people to “look around the world and look at how the U.S. is doing in comparison with all of our advanced country counterparts where inflation is also extremely high.”
MSNBC host and NBC News Senior Business Analyst Stephanie Ruhle asked, “[T]here’s lots of criticism that there was too much government support, but you can’t make a bumper sticker that says, it could have been worse, but that’s kind of the position that you’re in, how do you convince the American people of that?”
Yellen responded, “Well, look, the American people know that they got the support they needed to get through a horrible pandemic.” (Read more)

4. New York Supreme Court reinstates all employees fired for being unvaccinated, orders backpay - Fox News
The New York state Supreme Court has reinstated all employees who were fired for not being vaccinated, ordering back pay and saying their rights had been violated. The court found Monday that "being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19."
New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed earlier this year that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired over their vaccination status.
NYC alone fired roughly 1,400 employees for being unvaccinated earlier this year after the city adopted a vaccine mandate under former Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Many of those fired were police officers and firefighters.
FDNY-Uniformed Firefighters Association President Andrew Ansbro and FDNY-Uniformed Fire Officers Association President Lt. James McCarthy condemned Adams earlier this year after the mayor allowed an exception to the vaccine mandate for athletes and performers, even as firefighters were still being fired over their status. The pair called on the city to expand the exception to all New Yorkers. (Read more)

Hillary Clinton said 'extremist' Republicans have a plan underway to steal the 2024 presidential election in video urging Americans to vote for Democratic legislatures in their states.
The two-minute clip urged Americans to look past the 2022 midterms and turn out to vote in their local election, because she claims the conservative majority U.S. Supreme Court might give state legislatures the power to overturn results.
‘Right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election – and they’re not making a secret of it,’ Clinton alleged.
Clinton dramatically declared this is keeping her up at night, as she pushed the claim that MAGA Republicans were going to “literally steal” an election two years from now.

6. Hope Hicks set to testify before Jan. 6 committee: Report - Just The News
Longtime Trump confidant and former White House communications director Hope Hicks will appear before the House Jan. 6 committee, according to media reports, a sign that committee members are not letting up in their efforts to interview as many people as possible who are or have been close to former President Donald Trump during his political career.
Hicks was a regular fixture at the White House during the Trump years, serving in a variety of communications roles including as communications director from 2017 to 2018. She returned to the White House in early 2020 as an adviser to the president before leaving in a previously planned departure in mid-January 2021, after the Jan. 6 riot but before Trump's last day in office.
Hicks was previously employed by the Trump organization and was a staffer on the 2016 Trump campaign as well. (Read more)

7. Key analysts predicting Republicans win Senate, House, multiple governor's races - Just The News
Prominent election analysts are projecting Republican routs in both the U.S. House, the Senate, and multiple gubernatorial races in next month's midterm races, a sign of increasing Republican ascendancy amid growing dissatisfaction with the Biden administration's handling of the economy.
RealClearPolitics's Senate projection has Republicans picking up three Senate seats, giving the GOP a 53-47 majority in the Senate and wresting control away from Democrats for the second half of Joe Biden's first term in office.
In numerous gubernatorial races, meanwhile, RCP projects a similar GOP net pickup of three governor's races, putting Republican governors in charge of 31 state executive branches. 8. Biden calls Harris president, same day he seemingly gets lost on White House lawn - Just The News
President Biden accidentally referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as "president" after seemingly getting lost on the White House lawn earlier that day, raising more questions about his mental sharpness.
After a tree planting ceremony Monday afternoon on the South Lawn, Biden started to walk away from the White House until a staffer said to him, "This way, sir."
"Which way are we going?" Biden said as he turned around, according to video of the incident on Twitter. "We're going back going the other way? But I wanna go that way."
During an event that evening for the holiday of Diwali, the festival of lights in Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism, Biden omitted the "Vice" when talking to Vice President Harris about her birthday last week and her Hindu mother. "I know we'll celebrating Diwali, but a few year – days ago, it was also Kamala’s birthday. She turned 30," Biden said.

9. Whole world in danger’: Lapid warns of Russia-Iran arms ties in call with Kyiv’s FM - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Yair Lapid spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Thursday amid anger in Kyiv over Israel’s refusal to supply arms to Ukraine as it battles Russia’s invasion.
In the call, Lapid expressed “deep concern about the military ties between Iran and Russia,” his office said, after Moscow allegedly used Iran-made drones to attack Ukraine. Separately, in a TV interview, Lapid warned that Russian-Iranian arms ties put “the whole world in danger.”
After the phone discussion, Lapid tweeted that Kuleba updated him on the war, while the prime minister said he “shared with him [Kuleba] our deep concern about the military ties between Iran and Russia,” affirming that “Israel stands with the Ukrainian people.”

It Takes Just One

Along about 1992, our 14 year-old son brought home a brochure from school. This brochure was stirring up a lot of commotion on the bus. Kids were passing it, and others like it, around, showing it to the younger kids on the bus, embarrassing the young girls and causing a lot of disruption for the bus driver. When Ty showed it to me, I was appalled. This brochure was very explicit about showing cartoon-ish drawings on how to put on a condom, examples of “pillow talk” with your partner, and facts about sexually transmitted diseases. The brochure was every bit a pornographic infomercial for teen sex. I asked him where he got it and he said from a “career day” field trip to the local hospital.
He said the field trip didn’t really have much to do with careers as it did with information about sex. I couldn’t remember signing a permission slip for him to leave the school premises for a field trip. I asked my wife about it and she said she didn’t sign any permission slip either. So I proceeded to write an open letter to the Superintendent of Schools describing in detail the contents of the brochure, the fact that as parents we were not informed that our child would be removed from the school to attend the “career day,” and the we did not, nor would we give permission for our son to attend such a field trip. The Superintendent of Schools was the former chairman of the Democratic Party in that county. I was the current Republican Party chairman. The local newspaper published the letter. Read More

First big snowfall of the season buries parts
of western US and Canada

A dramatic change in the weather unleashed winter weather across many states in the West. Some areas were digging out from up to a month’s worth of snow after the potent storm unfolded.
The freezing air was a sharp contrast to the record heat felt in many parts of the West last week. Temperatures soared more than 15 degrees above normal for October in parts of Oregon and Nevada before a potent storm helped usher in drastically lower temperatures.
Across the Pacific Northwest, high temperatures dropped to the 40s and 50s over the weekend, and low temperatures dipped low enough to bring snow to many areas, including Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.
Snow began accumulating on roadways in Montana on Saturday evening, causing dangerous travel conditions in higher elevations such as Lost Trail Pass and MacDonald Pass. Snowfall in the mountains of Montana exceeded one foot in many spots. Read More

Eric Metaxas Warns the Church That Its Silence Will Doom America
|
|
Author and radio talk show host Eric Metaxas warns that America is fast approaching a dangerous cultural tipping point, although he says it's not too late to reverse course. In his new book, "Letter to the American Church," Metaxas writes of parallels between today's America and pre-World War II Germany. "It is the silence of the American church on a host of issues today that many people say, 'Oh, that's not a gospel related issue. I don't want to be divisive. I don't want to be political.' It is that silence which directly parallels the silence of German Christians in the early '30s, and it led to the satanic evil of the Nazi takeover of that culture where they crushed the church." Metaxas says that today, cultural Marxism is infiltrating American society. "It is advancing leftist ideas like transgenderism in schools and Christian persecution. Breaking silence to make change takes courage and persistence."
Nearly 200 years ago, Christian abolitionist William Wilberforce fought to end slavery throughout the British Empire. "He knew it was satanic, and he was political in saying, 'We've got to do what we can because we're Christians,'" Metaxas explained. "And when people say, but you're being political, he would say, 'No, I'm simply doing what God commands me to do, to be a voice for the voiceless. The African slaves don't have a voice. If I don't speak, God will judge me.' If I don't speak for the unborn today, God will judge me. If I don't speak against socialism and Marxism and the totalitarianism that is coming into our country, which is basically, you know, Chinese communist thinking coming into America and into American churches. The fact is that Bonhoeffer and Wilberforce were both told, 'be quiet, just keep your faith private, just preach the gospel and stick to gospel related issues.' And the things of the world will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
