Loudoun County Superintendent Appears to Admit District Violated State Law by Not Reporting Sexual Assault
|
|
The superintendent of a Virginia school district on Friday appeared to admit the district violated state law in failing to properly report alleged sexual assaults, as a state official confirmed the matter is under review.
Loudoun County Public Schools Superintendent Scott Ziegler made the admission during a brief appearance before reporters, where he read a prepared statement and took no questions.
Ziegler said that the district made “errors in our state reporting regarding disciplinary incidents in schools,” adding that it “inadvertently omitted some information in the past.”
“That is extremely concerning, and we are taking steps to make sure that process is improved. I will say that I have no reason to believe at this time that any missing reports were due to an intent to hide any information from the Virginia Department of Education,” he said, blaming an alleged “lack of oversight” that was in place before he was appointed in June, even though he served as interim superintendent starting Jan. 1.
Ziegler appeared to be responding to a report by The Daily Wire that the district failed to record multiple instances of alleged sexual assault even though it’s required to by state law.
Ziegler said during a school board meeting on June 22 that he was unaware of any record of assaults happening in the district’s restrooms, nearly a month after a girl was allegedly raped by a male in a bathroom at Stone Bridge High School.
State law says that reports “shall be made” to school and district authorities regarding all assaults on school buses, on school grounds, or at a school-sponsored activity.
State law also directs district superintendents to annually report such incidents to the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). But a public database of reports showed at least one assault that was not reported to state authorities. (Epoch Times) Read more.

- Lord God, we thank You for this wonderful news. We ask that this apparent act of repentance by the Superintendent of Loudoun County Schools would serve as a model and an encouragement to other Boards of Education across our land who need to "come clean" with their own hidden records. Protect our children, O Lord, and bring this man and this school board to justice. Amen.
- "Or do you have no regard for the wealth of His kindness and tolerance and patience [in withholding His wrath]? Are you [actually] unaware or ignorant [of the fact] that God’s kindness leads you to repentance [that is, to change your inner self, your old way of thinking—seek His purpose for your life]?" (Romans 2:4 AMP)

> > > See also: Win for Virginia Parents After Loudon County School Board Member Announces Resignation - Epoch Times
Embattled Loudoun County, Virginia, School Board member Beth Barts, who was the subject of a recall petition, announced Friday that she will resign from her position in November. . .
The group Fight For Schools and other organizations alleged that Barts was involved in a private Facebook group that violated the School Board’s Code of Conduct and local laws after the page’s members allegedly tried to attempt to reveal private information about—or doxx—parents as well as opponents of critical race theory and similar ideologies.
Asra Nomani, vice president of strategy and investigation for Parents Defending Education and a key opponent against critical race theory being taught in schools, hailed the announcement that Barts will be resigning.
“The first domino falls,” Nomani wrote to her 66,000 Twitter followers. “This will not save her from investigations into her corruption,” she added. (Read more)

- Father God, it seems that Loudoun County has now become a standard bearer for righteousness ruling in our school systems, and for dismantling the evil of CRT teachings, transgender policies, and other ills of our time. Like Mario Murillo, we pray that the "firewall" that these parents have raised up against these dangers in our schools would spread all across our nation, and that we leave no stone unturned in restoring sound, Biblically-based teaching in our curriculum. Amen.

The Hamas terror group has handed Israel an ultimatum, demanding that the Israeli government cave to several demands if it wishes to avoid another round of conflict with Gaza, Mako reported, quoting the Arabic al-Ain newspaper.

The money must be transferred by Tuesday, the report said. (Read more)

2. Hamas threatens Israel over prisoner negotiations - Israel National News
Khalil al-Haya, a member of the Hamas Politburo and a senior member of the movement in the Gaza Strip, sent a strong message to Israel amid continuing difficulties in negotiating an exchange deal in which captive IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians will be returned in exchange for the release of Palestinian Arab security prisoners.
In an interview with Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV channel, al-Haya said that "prisoners of the occupation will never see the light until our prisoners of freedom see it", emphasizing that Hamas has adhered to its demand for a new deal and is ready to carry it out if Israel carries out its obligations. Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar recently hinted that Hamas would demand the release of 1,111 security prisoners.
He warned Israel against continuing the "criminal" policy towards security prisoners in Israeli prisons and in a message to security prisoners said: "We stand by your side, we will never leave you alone in the confrontation with the actions of the occupation and harm committed against you." 4. Saudi Foreign Minister Warns of ‘Dangerous’ Iran Nuclear Acceleration - Algemeiner
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Friday that Iran’s acceleration of its nuclear activities is putting the world in “a very dangerous place” amid efforts to bring Tehran back into a 2015 nuclear deal.
Speaking at a news conference in Washington a day after meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, bin Farhan called for a “quick suspension” of Iranian activities in violation of the agreement under which Iran curbed its nuclear program in return for economic sanctions relief.
Bin Farhan also urged a “quick resumption” of indirect talks between the United States and Iran. Regional powers Iran and Saudi Arabia are arch rivals. (Read more)

1. Biden to temporarily reinstate 'remain in Mexico' policy per judge's orders - The Blaze
A little over four months after President Joe Biden officially ended his predecessor's "remain in Mexico" policy, his administration is set to put the controversial policy back into effect after a federal judge said Biden's termination of the program violated the law. Administration officials told the press Friday that Migrant Protection Protocols — a policy requiring migrant asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for their U.S. court hearings — will be temporarily reinstated in mid-November as the administration prepares another attempt to end the program.
Former Republican President Donald Trump implemented the MPP policy in 2019 as a means of ensuring that migrants who traveled to the southern border claiming to seek asylum did not enter the country illegally and then disappear before their court hearings. An estimated 68,000 migrants were returned to Mexico under Trump's policy, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Biden campaigned against MPP, claiming it was inhumane. Shortly after he took office in January, Biden paused the program as part of a wider effort to reverse many of Trump's immigration policies.
In April, Missouri and Texas sued the Biden administration, arguing that pausing MPP led to a surge of illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border that inflicted costs on the states. The Department of Homeland Security attempted to officially rescind the policy in June, when DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said it did not "adequately or sustainably enhance border management." - Almighty God, we pray that the strict border policy of remaining in Mexico, that was established by President Trump, now be solidly reinforced so that the border problem can be maintained with strict and solid rules of "Remain in Mexico." God, we pray for angels to be sent from heaven who will stand across the southern border of the United States and prevent any crossing from Mexico. We pray in the Name of Jesus.

2. Assistant to US House Sergeant at Arms arrested on child porn charges - New York Post
An assistant to the House of Representatives’ Sergeant at Arms was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges, police said. Stefan Bieret, 41, was charged with 10 felony counts of possession of child pornography after cops executed a search warrant at his home in Burke, Virginia, Fairfax County cops said Thursday.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had earlier received a tip of an illicit image being uploaded to a Dropbox account, whose owner lived in Fairfax County, police said. Detectives there launched an investigation in August and executed a search warrant on the Dropbox, which had contained images of child sex abuse, police said. Bieret was ultimately identified as the account owner and “multiple” electronic devices were recovered from his home. He was ordered held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, cops in Virginia said.
A website that tracks Capitol Hill staffers listed Bieret as a program manager and senior assistant to the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives — or the chief law enforcement officer for the lower house of Congress. The office of House Sergeant at Arms William J. Walker did not immediately return a message from The Post seeking comment Friday afternoon.
Fairfax County police said an investigation into the digital evidence recovered from Bieret’s home is ongoing and prosecutors will be consulted for any additional charges.
Bieret is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 22, RollCall.com reported. The congressional employee also previously worked for the US Capitol Police in a civilian role in its Security Services Bureau front office from April 2019 to September 2020, the website reported.
Bieret is known as a longtime Capitol Hill fixture, according to Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News. “Capitol insiders will know Stefan very well,” Sherman tweeted Friday. “If you’re in the Capitol on a regular basis, you will have seen this face.” (Read more)

3. Stop the "unmaking" of our military - and America - Center for Security Policy
A purge of the nation’s best warriors is well underway. One of them is Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lohmeier. Until recently, he was among the Air Force’s most promising pilots and commanders. He calls what’s afoot “the Unmaking of the American military.”
To accomplish that goal, the Biden administration’s Marxists are using techniques ranging from racist indoctrination, surveillance, withholding promotions and rewarding malfeasance, prosecution and vaccine mandates to drive out of the armed forces the kind of patriotic warfighters we desperately need today – and for the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately, Team Biden is not simply trying to unmake our most revered and essential institution. Its so-called “fundamental transformation” seeks to do the same to every part of our constitutional Republic and the freedoms it guarantees.
Insist that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Go to HonortheOath.org. (Read more)

In Your name we offer this prayer, amen and amen.

4. New Sex Ed ‘Common Core’ Would Force Explicit Images, Gender Mayhem, And Abortion On Kids - The Federalist
Last year, three leftist nonprofits created the National Sex Education Standards, a blueprint for the “sex education” of K-12 children. In practice, the standards serve as an indoctrination camp in extremist sexual ethics designed to destroy children’s innocence and undermine their attachment to the traditional, Judeo-Christian understanding of sex and marriage.
About 40 percent of school districts had adopted the earlier, less extreme 2011 version of the National Sexuality Education Standards, according to the Centers of Disease Control in a 2016 report. The new standards are radically more extreme.
The 2020 standards unequivocally endorse abortion at any time, teach the topic starting in sixth grade, and even force teachers to provide information on local abortion clinics to students in ninth grade. The standards also insist that children must be allowed to choose their own gender and false pronouns must “be respected by the adults in their lives.” (Read more)

- Almighty God, we ask You to dispatch myriads of warring angels to come and fight the promulgation of this filth being taught in schools, under the guise of "sex education." Holy God, we ask You to put a strong hand against the teachers who are filling our children's minds with these rot-gut destructive ideas. Shield our youngsters with the Blood of Jesus to protect them and to allow them to live normal, morally clean lives. In Jesus' Name we pray.
- "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, without natural affection, who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death." (Rom.1:28-32)

5. Skirt-wearing male student accused of brutal bathroom sex assault was previously placed under electronic surveillance for similar attack - The Blaze
The skirt-wearing male student at the center of a purported sexual assault that recently took place in a vacant school classroom was previously placed under electronic surveillance for another sexual assault, according to reports. Loudoun County commonwealth's attorney Buta Biberaj on Wednesday announced that the same 15-year-old has been charged in both crimes.
According to a Wednesday report from Newsweek, the male Loudoun County, Virginia, high school student accused of assaulting a female student in a school classroom was reportedly under court-ordered electronic surveillance for a previous sexual assault charge when the assault incident took place. The outlet noted that it is unclear at the time of this reporting as to why the 15-year-old male student was permitted on school property after having been charged with sexually assaulting a fellow student in a bathroom just five months prior to the new incident.
The unnamed teen was accused last week of sexual assault after he reportedly forced a female victim into an empty classroom at Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia, where he reportedly "held her against her will and inappropriately touched her." The student, just five months earlier, was arrested for reportedly sexually assaulting a female student while wearing a skirt in another Ashburn-area school bathroom in May. Authorities in May charged the teen with two counts of forcible sodomy for the purported bathroom assault.
He is currently being held in the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center, according to a report from WTOP-TV. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You that all of this has now come to light, as this case has proven to take down the whole "deck of cards" in Loudoun County today. No longer can the Board of Education deny that anything illegal has taken place, but instead, they are now being investigated by the Board of Education in the State of Virginia for not reporting this and other similar incidents, in violation of the the State's policy.
Moreover, we thank You that the father of the victim has now been vindicated for the anger he demonstrated at a recent School Board meeting, AND the Loudoun County Public Schools Superintendent, Scott Ziegler, has now publicly apologized to this family for the pain that their actions has caused them. PRAISE THE LORD!

6. Pompeo says world is 'very concerned' America is 'leaving the international stage' under Biden foreign policy - Fox News
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said President Biden's foreign policy "fails to understand" the "harsh reality" of good versus evil, warning, in an interview with Fox News, that without considering the "ramifications" of his administration's actions around the globe, "America will be diminished."
Speaking broadly about the shift in foreign policy from the Trump administration to the Biden administration, Pompeo told Fox News that international partners and allies are growing increasingly concerned about America's role in the world.
"I think the world is very worried," Pompeo said. "I think they see the first nine months, and they are very concerned that America is leaving the international stage." (Read more)

8. Greece underscores 'threat of war' with Turkey at signing of defense pact with US - Washington Examiner
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias underscored the persistent “threat of war” with Turkey in a meeting with Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the signing of a deal to upgrade defense cooperation between Athens and Washington. “Greece is facing a casus belli, a threat with war if it exercises its sovereign rights and, I have to say, Greece is facing daily provocation,” Dendias said Thursday at the State Department. “Greece is committed to resolve disputes with diplomacy and always in accordance with international law.”
“The two governments at a political level had decided that they did not want a repeat of what we all lived through in summer of 2020 [when they were] running the risk of a military clash between NATO allies that would do none of us any good,” a senior State Department official told reporters this week. “So I think the situation is significantly improved from what it was in the summer of 2020. The underlying issues remain.”
Dendias hailed the revisions to the U.S.-Greece security deal as a bulwark against Turkey, which also is embroiled in significant security-related controversies with the United States. “Dear Tony, your commitment to Greece is greatly appreciated ... following the migrant crisis and the tensions in eastern Mediterranean last year, they acquired increased importance,” he said. “You are underlining that the United States as well as Greece are firmly determined to mutually safeguard and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its country against actions threatening to peace, including armed attack or threat thereof.” (Read more)

9. Turkey used Russian missile system to track NATO fighter jets, US lawmakers suspect - Washington Examiner
Turkey has “activated” a Russian-made S-400 anti-aircraft defense system to track F-16 fighter jets flown by several other NATO members, U.S. lawmakers and analysts suspect. “The whole problem with having the S-400 integrated is in order to do that, you have to betray some of the codes and some of the, basically, NATO technology to the Russians,” the American Enterprise Institute’s Michael Rubin said. “And it appears that that's what they've done.”
Western officials have eyed Turkey’s turn to Russian arms dealers with alarm in recent years, but Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan defied the threat of U.S. sanctions to complete the pact. President Trump’s administration expelled Turkey from the F-35 joint strike fighter program to protect the cutting-edge warplane from exposure to Russian defense systems, but a recent standoff between Turkey and Greece created an opportunity to direct the armaments at U.S.-made F-16s.
“We have very credible reports that Turkey activated the S-400 in late August in response to joint military exercises being undertaken by Greece, Cyprus, Italy, and France in the eastern Mediterranean,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said in a Thursday podcast hosted by the Hellenic American Leadership Council.
Those four countries, all members of the European Union as well as NATO, have been coordinating to force Erdogan to back down in disputes over control of energy-rich waters in the eastern Mediterranean. Their air exercises — known as Eunomia, or good law, in an apparent reference to claims that Erdogan is flouting international law — was widely perceived as a warning to Ankara. (Read more)

- Father God, we repent that we have abandoned Trump's excellent decision, which protected our F-35 Joint Carrier Strike Force! We ask that America will raise up Trump to carry carry out his original decision to protect the F-35 Joint Carrier Strike Force. 10. Church leaders 'shocked and saddened' by death of Sir David Amess MP in stabbing attack - Christian Today
The Archbishop of Canterbury and Cardinal Vincent Nichols are among leaders paying tribute to Conservative MP Sir David Amess after he was stabbed to death inside a church while meeting constituents. Cardinal Nichols said he was "shocked and saddened" by the MP's death, which happened during a local constituency surgery at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. The cardinal said he was praying for Sir David's family and constituents. "This death throws a sharp light onto the fact that our Members of Parliament are servants of the people, available to people in their need, especially in their constituencies," he said. "This horrific attack, as David was undertaking his constituency surgery, is an attack on our democratic process and traditions.
Archbishop Justin Welby said he was "truly devastated" by Sir David's death. He said the MP's "deep faith fuelled his sense of justice" and that Britain was "all the poorer" for his "untimely" death. "The murder of an MP, in the course of caring for their constituents, is a deep blow to this country, its citizens and everyone who desires a peaceful and flourishing democracy," he said. "The only antidote to violence and hatred is love and unity," he continued. "In this horrific and tragic moment we must come together, across political difference, and be the light that refuses to be cowed by darkness."
Catherine Robinson, spokesperson for Right To Life UK, said the campaign group was grieving the loss of a "pro-life champion". "Sir David's death is a senseless tragedy and he will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Julia and their five children," she said. "Sir David was a pro-life champion. Since he was elected in 1983, he always, where possible, used his position as an MP to stand up for the vulnerable, including championing initiatives to introduce more protections for unborn babies and more support for women facing crisis pregnancies. "Everyone who worked with Sir David knew him to be a kind, caring and jovial man, who showed real care for the most vulnerable in our society." (Read more)

11. No end in sight to volcanic eruption on Spain's La Palma - Canaries president - Reuters
There is no immediate end in sight to the volcanic eruption that has caused chaos on the Spanish isle of La Palma since it began about a month ago, the president of the Canary Islands said on Sunday. There were 42 seismic tremors on the island on Sunday, the largest of which measured 4.3, according to the Spanish National Geographical Institute.
"There are no signs that an end of the eruption is imminent even though this is the greatest desire of everyone," President Angel Víctor Torres said at a Socialist party conference in Valencia, citing the view of scientists.
Streams of lava have laid waste to more than 742 hectares (1,833 acres) of land and destroyed almost 2,000 buildings on La Palma since the volcano started erupting on Sept. 19.
About 7,000 people have been evacuated from their homes on the island, which has about 83,000 inhabitants and forms part of the Canary Islands archipelago off northwestern Africa.
All of the 38 flights which were scheduled to arrive or take off from La Palma airport on Sunday were cancelled because of ash from the volcano, state airport operator Aena said, but the airport there remains open. (Read more, and view dramatic videos by going here.)

- Father God, in addition to asking You to limit the impact of this event on La Palma Island, we also ask for Your hand of mercy to rest upon all whose lives and livelihoods have been impacted by this disaster. We understand that, in Spanish, the words "La Palma" mean "The Hand," so we ask again for Your Hand to rest upon these people, in Your name, amen.

'Please Pray for Us!!' 17 Missionaries, Including Children, Kidnapped in Haiti
|
|
|
An urgent prayer request was issued after a group of 17 missionaries and family members, mostly Americans, were abducted in Haiti on Saturday.
The Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries sent an audio alert stating that men, women, and children were kidnapped while on their way home from building an orphanage, The Washington Post reports.
A person familiar with the abduction, who chose to remain anonymous, said one of the abducted Americans posted a message on WhatsApp during those terrifying moments.
"Please pray for us!! We are being held hostage, they kidnapped our driver. Pray pray pray. We don't know where they are taking us."
The U.S. State Department said in a statement that they were aware of the reports on the kidnapping.
"The welfare and safety of U.S. citizens abroad is one of the highest priorities of the Department of State," the spokesperson said.
"The mission field director and the American embassy are working to see what can be done," the audio was quoted as saying. "Pray that the gang members will come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ." (CBN) Read more.

- Father God, we do hear the cries of Your people in Haiti, and we ask for a move of divine intervention for them, that each one not be harmed and rescued quickly. - "Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will prepare their heart;
You will cause Your ear to hear,
To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,
That the man of the earth may oppress no more."

Lava Flow From Spanish Island Volcano Likened to a Tsunami
|
|
The second 4.5 magnitude earthquake in two days rattled the Spanish island of La Palma on Friday, officials said, as scientists described a gushing river of molten rock from an erupting volcano as “a true lava tsunami.”
The two quakes were the strongest to hit La Palma, part of the Canary Islands off northwest Africa, since the volcano erupted on Sept. 19, Spain’s National Geographical Institute said.
Lava rolling toward the Atlantic Ocean forced the evacuation of more than 300 people late Thursday, bringing the number of people forced from their homes since Tuesday to 1,200, according to the La Palma government. About 7,000 people in all have had to flee since the eruption, the government said.
Authorities have reported no casualties from the eruption on the island of some 85,000 people. Most of the island, where the economy is based mostly on farming and tourism, has been unaffected so far.
Two main rivers of lava were still flowing from the Cumbre Vieja ridge Friday. The initial one has slowed to a virtual stop, but a second one is spewing a large amount of molten rock and compelling authorities to stay alert for further possible evacuations.
The Canary Islands Volcanology Institute likened one of the flows to a lava tsunami as the molten rock poured down a hillside. Read More

'We Acknowledge God's Sovereignty,' Tenn. Governor Says in Prayer Proclamation
|
|
Tennessee's governor issued a proclamation this week that acknowledges "God's sovereignty," seeks forgiveness for "our many transgressions" and invites citizens of the state to pray and fast for God's guidance.
It was the third such proclamation from Gov. Bill Lee, who was inaugurated two years ago and issued a similar "Day of Prayer, Humility, and Fasting" proclamation in 2019 and 2020.
This year's Day of Prayer, Humility, and Fasting was held Monday.
"I invite all Tennesseans to join Maria & me as we pause to acknowledge our blessings, seek God's guidance for our state & ask Him for healing, grace & favor for the days ahead," Lee tweeted, referencing his wife.
I signed a proclamation to dedicate tomorrow, October 11, as a Day of Prayer & Fasting. I invite all Tennesseans to join Maria & me as we pause to acknowledge our blessings, seek God's guidance for our state & ask Him for healing, grace & favor for the days ahead. pic.twitter.com/KWUrPIJr35

Lee's newest proclamation acknowledges "God's sovereignty and the need for God's grace over our state and our nation." Further, it seeks "forgiveness for our many transgressions" and recognizes that the "beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord."
"I, Bill Lee, Governor of the State of Tennessee, do hereby proclaim October 11, 2021, as a voluntary Day of Prayer, Humility, and Fasting in Tennessee and encourage all citizens to join me in this worthy observance," it reads. (Christian Today)

21 Days of Prayer
Abominable | Day 10
Today on Day Ten of the 21 Day Repentance journey, the focus is on the third of these sins that will keep us out of heaven : abominable.
Day ten: Abominable. This means polluted by the ungodly practices in all nations, including idol worship. Ask the Helper if there are any abominable sins He can help you remove such as witchcraft, or free masonry, or being tied to career or mammon instead of placing the Lord first. Where did it first surface in you? Is it a generational curse into which you were born? How does it show up in your life today?
What is His replacement? "You shall have no other gods before Me." Exodus 20: 3.
" When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations." Deuteronomy 18: 9.

Stand up, Stand up for Jesus
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: George Duffield Jr
Music: George Webb
Scripture: Stand…having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. Ephesians 6:14
Lyrics:
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep He suffers,
Away with shame and fear;
Where’er ye meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict,
In this His glorious day.
Ye that are brave now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armor,
Each piece put on with prayer;
Where duty calls or danger,
Be never wanting there.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
Each soldier to his post,
Close up the broken column,
And shout through all the host:
Make good the loss so heavy,
In those that still remain,
And prove to all around you
That death itself is gain.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him who overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
They with the King of Glory
Shall reign eternally.
