"We the People"

"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"
In Context: The Intervening Election
The Senate often has an “intervening day” in between when intended action is filed and when votes are taken. Give the cooling saucer a chance to cool.

Going up an order of magnitude on the time scale, Congress is in a two-month intervening period between debt limit actions. While the two sides remain at heated odds, there is a factor that could have a cooling effect: Virginia.

One of only two states to have elections every year, this year the commonwealth elects a new governor.

Terry McAuliffe is seeking another term in the job he once held. He easily won the primary. He's also dug himself some new holes by attacking parents' control over the education of their children.

If Glenn Youngkin, the Republican nominee for governor in Virginia were to win, Washington analysts are already anticipating comparisons to Senator Scott Brown's Massachusetts upset election in 2010 that served as a precursor to the mid-term shellacking in Congressional elections later that year.

The election ends on 11/2 in 17 days. If Youngkin were to win, the moderates in Congress would be emboldened to slam on the brakes on massive spending, budget timeline gimmicks, and freedom-encroaching legislation.

Something gives or we remain stuck where we are now with one Democratic faction telling the other, “You pass my bill first,” “No, you pass my bill first.”

Father, we ask You to show the true motivations of people in elections and governing actions. We ask for the American people to be able to see the truth behind the massive, significant, transforming efforts that are currently underway in this land. May the People see which way You would have us choose and may we choose Your Way.

“Many who are first will be last, and the last first.” (Matthew 19:30, Mark 10:31)

Dear Saints,

A lifestyle of REPENTANCE is so close to the heart of God.

Indeed, He commands us to  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:2

How, then, can we approach His Throne of GRACE, in repentance?

We invite you to join us every week on Sunday evening, as we explore this vital topic together. We present a different prayer focus each week, leading us into repentance, so that we might approach His Throne of Grace in repentance, presenting ourselves to Him as a pure and a spotless Bride, without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27)

Praying together, we desire to fulfill the mandate of Psalm 139:

" Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:24

You can join us, any Sunday evening, at 10:00 p.m. EST by calling:

WELCOME!

". . . and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place."
(2 Chronicles 7:14,15)
