Churches Are a Beacon of Hope in Helene’s Aftermath
as Remote Regions of NC Report Little Gov’t Aid

Communities across the Southeast are working to recover from the devastation left by Hurricane Helene. Churches and faith-based organizations are stepping in to meet critical needs beyond food and water, offering hope and restoration to those affected. In the small mountain town of Swannanoa, North Carolina, volunteers from across the country have gathered to assist with recovery efforts. One of the hardest-hit areas, Swannanoa’s residents are relying on their faith as they salvage what remains of their homes and livelihoods. “That river is usually a nice little river, beautiful. It turned into a massive 27-30 feet above flood stage – places where nobody had ever seen it,” said Jeff Dowdy, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Swannanoa.
Dowdy’s church was spared significant damage, allowing it to serve as a beacon of hope for the community. The church has become a distribution site, receiving so many supplies that they’re now sending them to those with fewer resources. Still, the destruction around Swannanoa is staggering. Utility poles have snapped in half, roads and railroads are washed out, and concrete slabs are all that remain of some homes. “We were able to make it through as a church, so we feel that God has spared us so that we can be a beacon of hope in this community,” Dowdy added. Further north in Asheville, the Asheville Dream Center has set up operations outside Revel Church, organizing semi-truck loads of donated goods. They’re distributing water, food, and other supplies throughout the region. Founder Michelle Coleman says the outpouring of donations has been overwhelming. “We’ve been trying to keep track, but the need is so great, we’re just sending it out,” Coleman said. Coleman noted that while there have been reports of government aid, they have yet to see it in the area. However, the church and its volunteers have refused to wait, creating a grassroots network of support. (Charisma news) Read more here.

Trump Announces Operation Aurora to Target and Dismantle Migrant Gangs
|
|
Former President Donald Trump announced “Operation Aurora,” aimed at expediting the removal of “every criminal network operating” in the United States, such as the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang.
During a rally in Aurora, Colorado, on Friday, Trump explained that if elected president, he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 in order to “target and dismantle” all criminal networks operating in the country. Trump added during his speech that the border would be sealed, and the illegal immigration “invasion” would be stopped.
“In honor of Jocelyn Nungaray, Laken Riley — beautiful Laken — Rachel Morin, and all of the others that are dead, and/or mortally wounded at the hands of migrants who should never have been allowed into our country, I’m announcing today, that upon taking office, we will have an Operation Aurora at the federal level to expedite the removals of these savage gangs,” Trump announced. “And, I will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 — think of that, 1798, this was put there 1798, that’s a long time ago.” Read more

Chip Roy Demands Biden-Harris Admin Preserve Records of Peaceful Pro-Lifers Prosecutions
|
|
Texas Congressman Chip Roy (R) demanded Thursday that the FBI and Justice Department preserve all records of its prosecution of peaceful pro-life protesters under the FACE Act.
In a letter first shared with The Daily Wire, Roy called on FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland to take steps to keep all documentation of their Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) cases. The FACE Act is a Clinton-era law that makes it a federal crime to physically obstruct the entrance to an abortion facility.
Roy, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government, has long called for the FACE Act to be repealed because of its disproportionate use against pro-lifers. He told Biden administration officials that he remained “concerned with the Biden-Harris Administration’s continued weaponization of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act against pro-life Americans.”
“As the Subcommittee continues to conduct oversight over the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) enforcement of the FACE Act, serious questions remain about the disparity in prosecutions between Americans supporting life and the violent attacks on pregnancy resource centers that occurred in the wake of the leak of the draft Supreme Court opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization,” Roy wrote. Read more

Leading Dems Won't Confirm if They Will Certify Trump Victory: Report

|
Top House Democrats won’t say for certain if they will certify the results of the 2024 presidential election if former President Donald Trump beats Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a new report.
Some of these members, including those who objected to Trump electors in 2017, signaled to Axios that Trump may cause issues with the vote that would give them pause.
Democrats would certify a Trump victory “assuming everything goes the way we expect it to,” said Jim McGovern (D-MA), the ranking member of the Rules Committee.
“We have to see how it all happens,” McGovern said. “My expectation is that we would.”
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), a senior House Democratic chief deputy whip, told the outlet that she did not know what kind of “shenanigans” Trump is planning. Read more

Georgia Environmental Official Collapses and Dies Near State Capitol After Testifying About Toxic BioLab Fire
|
|
A Georgia environmental official died after suddenly collapsing near the state Capitol on Tuesday during a public meeting on last month’s toxic chemical plant inferno outside Atlanta, officials said.
Kenny Johnson, the Rockdale County Soil and Water Conservation District supervisor, testified alongside business owners and leaders about the BioLab chemical fire in Conyers, about 25 miles outside Atlanta, which spewed clouds of hazardous chlorine gas and smoke throughout the area.
Shortly afterward, the 62-year-old collapsed and was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said that due to the circumstances of Johnson’s death, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has agreed to investigate, 11Alive reported.
An official cause of death will be determined once an autopsy is completed. Read more

1. Security Chiefs: Israel Will Stop Terror Groups Re-establishing Presence Near Lebanon Border
Israel’s security chiefs vowed in remarks published Friday that Israel will push on with its offensive in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is pushed away from the border and would continue to act there in the future if it sees terror groups trying to reestablish a presence along the Israeli frontier.
At a Thursday night security assessment in the field in southern Lebanon, alongside Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi vowed, “We will continue to fight the enemy, and we will not stop” until the displaced residents of Israel’s north have long-term security.” Read more

It was strange to watch Fox News’ Martha MacCallum yesterday refer to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “unpopularity” in Israel. McCallum is a straight-shooting journalist. So how is it that she is unaware that Netanyahu is the most popular prime minister Israel has had in ages?
Netanyahu’s popularity reasonably sank in the immediate aftermath of Hamas’s Oct. 7 invasion and slaughter of 1,200 Israelis. But it began rebounding in late November. After National Resilience Party leader Benny Gantz resigned from Netanyahu’s government in June, Netanyahu steadily rose in Direct Polls tracking polls—leading Gantz and Opposition leader Yesh Atid Party head Yair Lapid by double digits in head-to-head matchups. The United States hits Iran’s oil and petrochemicals sectors with new sanctions in response to Tehran’s October 1 attack against Israel, designating dozens of new companies and firms.
The Treasury Department says it is going after Iran’s so-called “shadow fleet” of ships involved in selling Iranian oil in circumvention of existing sanctions, designating 10 companies and 17 vessels as “blocked property” over their involvement in shipments of Iranian petroleum and petrochemical products.
The State Department also announces it is slapping sanctions on six other firms and six ships for “knowingly engaging in a significant transaction for the purchase, acquisition, sale, transport, or marketing of petroleum or petroleum products from Iran.” Read more

The security cabinet met Thursday night to discuss a potential Israeli response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on the country last week. Still, no major decision was made, as coordination on the matter continues between Jerusalem and Washington, an Israeli official said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met Iran’s president on Friday at a time when Tehran is supplying weapons for Moscow’s war in Ukraine and concerns are growing over escalating attacks between Israel and Iran and its terror allies.
Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the situation in the Middle East on the sidelines of an international forum in the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, Russian state media said.
Moscow and Tehran signed a $1.7 billion deal for Iran to export drones to Russia after Putin invaded Ukraine in 2022, and the US also believes it has transferred short-range ballistic missiles. Read more

1. DOJ Sues Virginia Over Enforcement of 2006 Law Removing Noncitizens from Voter Lists - Breitbart
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it was filing a lawsuit against the “State of Virginia, Virginia State Board of Elections and Virginia Commissioner of Elections” over the state’s enforcement of a 2006 law, removing non-citizens from voter lists.
In a press release on Friday, the DOJ wrote that the removal of voters from “election rolls” so close to the upcoming presidential election violated “Section 8(c)(2)” of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993, “also known as the Quiet Period Provision.”
Under Section 8(c)(2) of the NVRA, states are required “to complete systematic programs” in order to remove “the names of ineligible voters from voter registration lists no later than 90 days before federal elections,” the DOJ added: Read more

2. Biden sabotaging Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign after being forced to drop re-election bid, pundits say – New York Post
President Biden is so bitter about being forced to drop his re-election bid by top members of his own party that he’s deliberately sabotaging Kamala Harris’ campaign, according to a growing chorus of political pundits.
Since being pressured out of the race in July over fears about declining cognitive abilities, Biden has done little for Harris beyond endorsing her, and has largely been a no-show at his vice president’s campaign events.
He’s also pulled the spotlight from his intended successor on numerous occasions, including delivering his own comments last week on how the White House is responding to Hurricane Helene — even after Harris cancelled a Las Vegas campaign event and hurried back to DC to be briefed on the storm’s impact.
The lame-duck leader has also served up a plethora of cringe-worthy actions that have left Donald Trump-loving conservatives salivating. More than a dozen Congressional Medal of Honor recipients endorsed former President Trump in the 2024 presidential race.
"We, 15 recipients of the Medal of Honor, having served this great nation in wars, support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States," they wrote.
The recipients include those who have served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam.
"We believe that American citizenship is a revered privilege. We believe that a patriotic nation is a strong nation. We believe that the sacrifices by the men and women in our armed forces preserves and protects American freedom," they wrote.
"We believe that the integrity of our institutions is fundamental to the trust placed in them. We believe in the commitment to the United States Constitution and our solemn oaths to protect it. We believe valor is great fortitude when faced with profound adversity," they continued.
"We believe in the devoted pledge of allegiance to the United States of America. We believe that American veterans should be celebrated and supported by our nation," they wrote. "We believe that our nation must have borders secure from our enemies."

4. California Insanity: Commission Rejects Space Force Plan for SpaceX Launches Because Elon Musk Supports Trump - Breitbart
The California Coastal Commission has denied Space Force plans for Elon Musk’s SpaceX to launch crucial satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base because the governmental body doesn’t like Musk’s politics. One commissioner claimed SpaceX should not be allowed to support the American military’s work in space because Musk has “aggressively injected himself into the presidential race.”
Politico reports that in a 6-4 vote on Thursday, the California Coastal Commission rejected the Air Force’s plan to allow SpaceX to launch up to 50 rockets per year from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County. The decision came as a blow to the aerospace company’s ambitions, with commissioners citing concerns over Elon Musk’s political rhetoric and the classification of SpaceX as a military contractor.
During the meeting in San Diego, Commissioner Gretchen Newsom criticized Musk’s behavior, stating, “Elon Musk is hopping about the country, spewing and tweeting political falsehoods and attacking FEMA while claiming his desire to help the hurricane victims with free Starlink access to the internet.” The commission, known for its strict defense of public access to California’s coastline, had been in ongoing discussions with the Air Force’s Space Force branch since May 2023 regarding the proposed increase in SpaceX’s satellite launches from Vandenberg. 5. EXCLUSIVE: Congress Froze $1.5 Million For Foreign LGBTQ Initiatives — But Biden-Harris Admin Is Spending It Anyways – Daily Caller
The Biden-Harris administration is ignoring Congress and planning to spend well over a million dollars in taxpayer money for LGBTQ initiatives in Latin America, the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) spends billions every year delivering assistance to various countries around the world, sometimes for the purpose of promoting social causes abroad. USAID told Congress in August it planned to spend $1.5 million in Latin America and the Caribbean on various LGBTQ causes, including raising awareness of LGBTQ individuals and promoting coordination of various organizations that protect the minority group, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told the DCNF, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the subject.
A congressional committee issued a freeze on the $1.5 million funding package, the source told the DCNF. But USAID is choosing to ignore the hold and move forward with the initiative; an incredibly rare and nearly unprecedented move, as holds are typically honored. Read more

6. Trump Vows To Make Car Loan Interest Tax Deductible: ‘Stimulate Massive Domestic Auto Production’ – Daily Wire
Former President Donald Trump announced in Detroit on Thursday that if he wins the election, he will make car loan interest “fully” tax-deductible, adding the policy to his plans for other major tax cuts.
During a speech at the Detroit Economic Club, Trump said the tax deduction on car payments would “revolutionize” the car industry and “stimulate massive domestic auto production.” The former president added that the policy would “make car ownership dramatically more affordable for millions and millions of working American families.”
In his speech, Trump also reiterated his promise to impose tariffs on car companies that manufacture vehicles outside of the U.S., a policy he says would bring jobs back to places like Detroit and Flint, Michigan. Read more

IV Fluid Shortage: Hospital Group Asks Federal Government to Declare National Emergency

Medical facilities have begun suspending some elective
surgeries following the disruption to supplies.
|
|
The American Hospital Association (AHA) is urging the federal government to
declare a national emergency, warning that patient safety is at risk due to a
shortage of IV solutions after Hurricane Helene disrupted supplies.
Baxter International, the largest manufacturer of certain intravenous (IV)
solutions in the United States, shut down its North Cove manufacturing plant in
North Carolina recently after being impacted by Hurricane Helene. This has
disrupted the supply of IV fluids to hospitals.
“As a result, our members are already reporting substantial shortages of these
lifesaving and life-supporting products,” the AHA said in an Oct. 7 letter to
President Joe Biden.
The group represents almost 5,000 member hospitals, 43,000 individual
members, and other health care organizations.
“Patients across America are already feeling this impact, which will only deepen
in the coming days and weeks unless much more is done to alleviate the
situation and minimize the impact on patient care,” the letter reads.
The association asked the federal government to declare a national emergency

- Heavenly Father, we all realize how basic and necessary sterile IV fluids are at all
types of medical facilities for all kinds of procedures, especially for surgeries,
drug administration and to treat dehydration. We pray that Baxter International
would have all resources needed to be up and running quickly, and that other
existing sources within the U.S. would increase their production rates. Perhaps
other suitable manufacturers could be retrofitted in order to produce IVs.
May all hospitals and clinics take extra care in managing their inventory of IV
fluids but also not skimp when patients truly need IV’s in their treatments. When
necessary, Lord, where inventory is low or demand is super high, we ask You for
the miracle of multiplication until Baxter is fully up and running. We pray also that
multiple IV fluid companies be developed (in the U.S.A.) so that we do not find
ourselves in this predicament again. We know it is not wise to have a single
company producing most of a critically needed product, yet here we are. May the
federal government be involved in this dilemma, but only if they act honestly and
wisely.
Finally, Lord, we ask that all shipments of the IV fluids would arrive on-time and
in perfect condition. Surround the transports with Your warrior angels.

Governor Signs Climate Engineering Ban Legislation Into Law

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has now signed legislation into law that bans any form of climate engineering operations over the State of Tennessee. Courageous Tennessee lawmakers in the Senate and House had previously passed the legislation which put it on the governor's desk, it has now been signed into law. Though other states have tried, Tennessee has succeeded due to their solid, straightforward and simple bill. Now other states can follow suit by utilizing the Tennessee legislation as a template for their own.

Archeologists discover fortress, sword possibly from Pharaoh linked to Exodus
|

A fortress from the reign of the Egyptian pharaoh, popularly although not definitively associated with the book of Exodus when the Israelites were enslaved, has been discovered by archaeologists.
According to Biblical Archaeology, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed the finding from the era of Ramesses II (1279 - 1213 BC), known as Ramesses the Great, and located Northwest of the Nile Delta, 60 miles South of Alexandria.
Biblical Archaeology detailed the fortress discovered as a barracks with warehouses for storing weapons and foods. All the mudbrick buildings were grouped into two sides.
The archaeologists also discovered weapons, tools and jewelry presumably from the pharaoh's era, such as necklaces constructed with semi-precious stones, a bronze ring and scarab seals. There were two limestone blocks with the name of Ramesses II inscribed in a hieroglyphic and the name of an official called “Bay.”
A discovery was also made in a small barracks room of a bronze sword with a cartouche of Ramesses II, which has been preserved. It is thought the sword belonged to a high-ranking officer and was intended for combat not decoration.
“The weaponry demonstrates the place was well armed and may even have been able to produce some weapons on site,” Peter Brand, a professor at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, told Live Science. Read More
