Miracle Baby Arrives Amid Hurricane Milton
|
|
As Hurricane Milton barreled toward Florida’s Gulf Coast, a miracle unfolded in the midst of chaos. Kenzie Lewellen and her boyfriend, Dewey Bennett, braced themselves not just for the storm, but for the arrival of their baby boy. At 4 a.m. Wednesday, with the hurricane looming, Lewellen went into labor at their Port Charlotte home. “My mind was just running a million miles an hour, like, what am I going to do?” Lewellen said according to NBC News. For Bennett, memories of Hurricane Irma in 2017 added to the tension. His father had passed away during the storm when emergency services couldn’t reach them. “My dad had a massive heart attack because the ambulance could not come out to us during the storm,” Bennett shared. Now, with his own child on the way, Bennett feared history might repeat itself. The couple faced another dilemma: their home was taking on water before Milton even made landfall. “If she didn’t start having contractions until during the storm, the roads would have been flooded,” Bennett said. As the storm raged, Lewellen labored for over four hours before they embarked on a risky drive to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Her mother drove them cautiously through heavy winds and rain.
At the hospital, only Bennett was allowed to accompany her, leaving Lewellen to FaceTime with her mom, a source of strength and comfort for her. In the delivery room, Lewellen’s view of the hurricane was a surreal backdrop to the most intense moment of her life. As trees uprooted outside, the real storm came when she learned the baby was in the wrong position, requiring a cesarean section. In pain from epidural complications, she leaned on the hospital staff. “If I didn’t have the doctors and nurses that I had, it would have been a whole lot worse,” she said. At 11:45 p.m., amidst the storm, their son, Dewey Lester Bennett IV, was born—a healthy, 8-pound baby boy. It was a moment of overwhelming relief and joy. “He is a miracle baby,” Lewellen said, holding him close. The timing of Dewey’s birth, in the heart of a natural disaster, serves as a reminder of something greater. No matter how big the storms of life are—both literally and figuratively—God is always bigger. As Psalm 107:29 says, “He made the storm calm, and the sea waves were still. COACHELLA, Calif.—Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco told The Epoch Times on Oct. 14 that a previous statement he had made—that a suspect arrested on Saturday outside a rally by former President Donald Trump had said he was “going to kill the president”—was in fact incorrect and based on ”bad info.”
“He never said it. It was bad info ... given to me. He never told a deputy that,” he told The Epoch Times in a text message.
On Oct. 13, Bianco had told The Epoch Times in a text message that: “We arrested a man trying to get in the perimeter with two firearms who ended up saying he was going to kill the president.”
The suspect had been arrested outside the perimeter of a Trump rally in the city of Coachella in Southern California, 130 miles east of Los Angeles, on Oct. 12. The arrest was made before former President Trump arrived on site.
At an afternoon press conference, the sheriff said he believes his deputies most likely helped thwart another assassination attempt.
He said, “From a state law enforcement agency’s perspective, the firearms charges are what we arrested him for and booked him on ... There were two guns, and multiple boxes of ammunition for both, there was a handgun and a shotgun.
“We know that we prevented something bad from happening, and it’s irrelevant what that bad was going to be.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father, this story has a lot of moving parts in it, so whatever this person was planning to do, he was undermining the law of the land in order to do so. We pray for Your righteousness to continue to protect President Trump. We pray for this suspect to receive all fair judgment and that whatever evil he may have planned, it would be refuted, in Jesus name.

Trump Says His Supporters Won’t Cause
Election Chaos

Former President Donald Trump said Sunday that he does not expect any chaos on Election Day from his supporters.
In a Fox Business interview, host Maria Bartiromo asked the 45th president if he anticipates any chaos on Nov. 5, the day of the election. She also made reference to an Election Day terror plot that U.S. officials said they prevented from occurring.
“No, I don’t think [so]. Not from the side that votes for Trump,” he said in response.
In Sunday’s interview, when asked about whether there might be the possibility of violence from illegal immigrants, Trump said the bigger problem is the “enemy from within” before suggesting that extremists within the United States may cause problems next month. He then suggested that the National Guard should be called in if needed.
“We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics, and I think ... it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen,” the former president said, adding that “I don’t think [illegal immigrants] are the problem in terms of Election Day.”
The comment sparked a rebuke from the Harris campaign.
“Donald Trump is suggesting that his fellow Americans are worse ‘enemies’ than foreign adversaries, and he is saying he would use the military against them,” campaign spokesperson and senior advisor Ian Sams said in a statement. “This should alarm every American who cares about their freedom and security.” (Read more here)

Biden Announces $612 Million in Electric Grid, Energy Funds During Post-Hurricane Florida Visit
|
|
President Joe Biden traveled to St. Petersburg, Florida, on Oct. 13 to announce $612 million for Department of Energy projects to strengthen electrical grids in the areas affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene.
The allocations include $94 million for two initiatives in Florida: $47 million for Switched Source, in partnership with Florida Power and Light (FPL), and $47 million for Gainesville Regional Utilities. The energy companies service multiple portions of the state.
“This funding will not only restore power but will make the region’s power system stronger and more capable and reduce the frequency and duration of power outages while extreme weather events become more frequent,” Biden said.
Florida remains one of the most vulnerable U.S. states to hurricane activity. FPL’s service area includes Sarasota County, which took a direct hit from Milton on the evening of Oct. 9. More than 900,000 Floridians remain without power on the morning of Oct. 13, according to poweroutage.us.
Switched Source will work with FPL to dispatch the distribution automation device Phase-EQ to optimize power flow in distribution circuits while unlocking more than 200 megawatts of system capacity and improving circuit reliability in the areas most prone to long-term power outages.
The funding for Gainesville Regional Utilities will work to strengthen the area’s electrical grid and lead to faster power restoration, along with tools to help with field teams during outages.
“This is a whole government effort, from state and local to FEMA to U.S. Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers, the Energy Department, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, just to name a few,” Biden said.
Biden approved a major disaster declaration for Florida on the evening of Oct. 11, opening federal funds to survivors for temporary housing and home repairs, along with low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses. Pentagon to Send Advanced Missile Defense System and Troops to Israel

The Department of Defense confirmed on Oct. 13 it will deploy an advanced air defense system and American support troops to Israel.
Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder said President Joe Biden directed Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin to authorize deployment of the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system in the country in the midst of its conflict with both the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist groups, according to the department.
The statement said that an “associated crew” will also be sent to Israel to operate the THAAD system, without elaborating. It’s not clear when the system will be deployed in Israel, where it will be positioned, or how many troops will be sent to the country.
“The THAAD Battery will augment Israel’s integrated air defense system. This action underscores the United States’ ironclad commitment to the defense of Israel, and to defend Americans in Israel, from any further ballistic missile attacks by Iran,” the statement reads. “It is part of the broader adjustments the U.S. military has made in recent months, to support the defense of Israel and protect Americans from attacks by Iran and Iranian-aligned militias.”
The delivery of the sophisticated missile defense system risks further inflaming the conflict in the Middle East despite widespread diplomatic efforts to avoid an all-out war. Iran issued a warning via a post from an account on the social platform X long associated with Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, noting the earlier reports that the United States was considering the deployment.
Israeli forces and Hezbollah have clashed since Oct. 8, 2023, when the Lebanon-based terrorist group began firing rockets over the border in support of its ally Hamas in Gaza. Late last month, Israel launched a ground invasion into Lebanon.
In a brief exchange with reporters before leaving Florida on Oct. 13, President Joe Biden said he agreed to deploy the THAAD battery “to defend Israel.”

1. Netanyahu: 'Charge that Israel deliberately attacked UNIFIL personnel completely false' - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded Monday evening to accusations that the IDF has targeted UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon, calling these accusations "completely false."
"The charge that Israel deliberately attacked UNIFIL personnel is completely false," Netanyahu stated. "It's exactly the opposite. Israel repeatedly asks UNIFIL to get out of harm's way. It repeatedly asked them to temporarily leave the combat zone, which is right next to Israel's border with Lebanon."
"In fact," he said, "on the day that Israel began its ground operation next to our border with Lebanon, we asked them specifically, 'Please leave this area so you're not harmed.'"

2. Ministers livid over halt in strikes in Beirut: We will demand answers from Netanyahu - Israel National News
The Israel Air Force has not struck Beirut in the last four days, at the direction of the political echelon.
Kan 11 News reported on Monday evening that the instruction was delivered in writing on Friday morning, after the unusual strike in western Beirut, in which dozens of people were killed and injured.
The report also said that the ministers of the Security Cabinet were excluded from the decision to avoid attacks in Beirut. Cabinet sources said that the decision was not brought up for approval in recent discussions, and they heard about it for the first time in the media. (Read more)

3. Israeli couple hired by Iran to assassinate prominent figure - Israel Hayom
In a coordinated counterintelligence effort, Israel's Security Agency (Shin Bet) has uncovered a network of Iranian intelligence operatives working to recruit and activate Israeli citizens, the Israeli authorities revealed on Monday. As part of this operation, authorities arrested Vladislav Viktorson, a 30-year-old Ramat Gan resident, for questioning.
Investigators found that since August, Viktorson had been in contact via social media with an individual using the name "Mari Hossi." Their communications were conducted in Hebrew.
Under the direction of an Iranian operative, and fully aware of their identity, Viktorson allegedly carried out various tasks. These included spray-painting graffiti, hanging posters, planting money, and even torching vehicles in Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park area. He was later instructed to sabotage communication infrastructure and ATMs, and to set fires in forests. Some of these activities were documented, and Viktorson received over $5,000 for their execution. The investigation revealed that Viktorson even agreed to assassinate a prominent figure in Israel and to throw a grenade at a house. Following this, he took steps to acquire weapons, including a sniper rifle, handguns, and fragmentation grenades. (Read more)

Foreign Minister Israel Katz has told his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi that Iran is a threat to the Middle East and the entire world, his office says.
Katz tells Wang during a phone call that Israel will respond to the Iranian missile attack. They discuss fighting against Iran’s proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, says Katz’s office.
It is the first phone call between Katz and Wang, who last spoke to an Israeli top diplomat — Eli Cohen — in October 2023. (Read more)

5. Hezbollah Drone Strike on IDF Training Base Kills Four - Algemeiner
JNS.org — The Hezbollah terror organization killed four Israeli soldiers in a drone strike on a Golani Brigade training base near Binyamina on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces said early on Monday morning.
The IDF named the fatalities as: Sgt. Omri Tamari, 19, from Mazkeret Batya; Sgt. Yosef Hieb, 19, from Tuba-Zangariyye; Sgt. Yoav Agmon, 19, from Binyamina-Giv’at Ada; and Sgt. Alon Amitay, 19, from Ramot Naftali.
“The IDF shares in the grief of the bereaved families and will continue to accompany them,” the Israeli military said. “We ask to refrain from spreading rumors and the names of wounded individuals and to respect the families.”
The IDF added in Hebrew that seven soldiers were seriously wounded in the attack. Some 50 others were moderately or lightly hurt. (Read more)

1. Democrats shut down Arizona office after shootings- The Hill
Arizona Democrats closed their field office in Tempe, Ariz. after three shooting incidents. The office served as a base for the Sun State’s congressional campaigns and Vice President Harris’s presidential effort in recent weeks.
The Tempe Police Department said the latest incidents on Oct. 6 involved gun shots fired at the Democratic campaign office at around 12:30 a.m. They said no one was inside the building. Officers are now looking for a silver Toyota Highlander with an unknown plate, which was seen on the premises.
Lauren Kuby, a state Senate candidate in Legislative District 8, told USA Today that candidates and staffers quietly moved operations to an undisclosed location to ensure the team’s safety. The incident came days before First Lady Jill Biden and former President Barack Obama were scheduled to campaign in the battleground state.
Prior to the October shooting, reports show damage to the property on Sept. 16 and 23, either caused by a BB gun or additional gun fire. Officers are now investigating the destruction and are offering $1,000 to witnesses who can provide more information. (Read more)

2. Michigan Bishops Protest Gov. Whitmer’s Mockery of Holy Communion – Breitbart
The Michigan Catholic Bishops’ Conference has protested Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s mockery of the sacrament of the Eucharist, calling the blasphemous stunt “offensive.”
A video posted on Instagram Thursday featured Gov. Gretchen Whitmer placing a Dorito chip on the extended tongue of a kneeling woman, in a gesture readily recognizable as the Catholic practice of Holy Communion.
After giving Canadian feminist Liz Plank (@feministabulous) “communion,” Whitmer — wearing a Harris-Walz hat — then stares expressionless into the camera:
The skit specifically imitates “the posture and gestures of Catholics receiving the Holy Eucharist, in which we believe that Jesus Christ is truly present,” said Paul A. Long, president of the Michigan Catholic Conference.
“It is not just distasteful or ‘strange;’ it is an all-too-familiar example of an elected official mocking religious persons and their practices,” Long said on behalf of the bishops, adding that “whether or not insulting Catholics and the Eucharist was the intent, it has had an offensive impact.” (Read more)

3. Severe geomagnetic storm could stress power grid as recovery continues after 2 major hurricanes- NOAA
A severe solar storm that reached Earth on Thursday could stress power grids even more as the U.S. reels from back-to-back major hurricanes, according to space weather forecasters.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said Thursday that a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) blasted from the Sun reached Earth at about 11 a.m.
The Space Weather Prediction Center issued multiple warnings and alerts for geomagnetic storm conditions, and by Thursday, the Earth was experiencing G4, or severe, conditions. (Date: October 10th) (Read more)

4. 14 states sue TikTok, blame app for fueling youth mental health struggles, endangering lives - Christian Post
TikTok violated state laws by claiming its platform is safe for young people and sold minors’ personal identifying information without parental consent, according to lawsuits filed by a coalition of 14 attorneys general.
The social media site launched in September 2016 and allows users to build an online platform by posting videos that range in duration, sometimes lasting a few seconds or minutes. TikTok has come under repeated scrutiny due to concerns about data privacy and youth mental health.
A bipartisan coalition of 14 attorneys general, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James and California Attorney General Rob Bonta, filed lawsuits against TikTok earlier this month. The lawsuits allege that TikTok is addictive to young people, and youth are dying or suffering from injuries because of dangerous “challenges” promoted on the platform. (Read more)

5. Christians laud Council of Europe turning back on resolution to legalize prostitution - Christian Post
A lack of “political support” led the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to vote on Oct. 3 in favor of returning a controversial resolution to decriminalize prostitution as a normalized occupation of “sex work” back to the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination. The move has been hailed as a “milestone victory” by the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ).
Before the vote, the ECLJ expressed public concern about the report and motion for the resolution on prostitution titled, “Protecting the human rights and improving the lives of sex workers and victims of sexual exploitation.” (Read more)

6. Russia's Putin cements ties with Iranian president in Central Asia meeting - Reuters
MOSCOW, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Russia's Vladimir Putin held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday in Turkmenistan, where the two leaders hailed their countries growing economic ties and similar views on world affairs, an entente viewed with concern by the United States.
At odds with Washington and the European Union over Russia's war in Ukraine, something he casts as part of a wider existential struggle against an arrogant and self-interested West - Putin is keen to deepen ties with what he calls the Global East and Global South.
Putin, whose country is hosting a summit of the BRICS nations in Kazan on Oct. 22-24, invited Pezeshkian to come to Russia on an official visit, a proposal the Iranian leader accepted according to Russia's state RIA news agency.
"Economically and culturally, our communications are being strengthened day by day and becoming more robust," Pezeshkian was cited as telling Putin by Iran's official IRNA news agency.
"The growing trend of cooperation between Iran and Russia, considering the will of the top leaders of both countries, must be accelerated to strengthen these ties," he said. (Read more)

A Time for Atonement

Yom Kippur, is considered by Jews as the holiest day of the year called “Yom ha kodesh (the holy day). This year, it began Friday the 11th at sundown and continued through an hour after sundown on Saturday. Yom Kippur is the climax of the 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur called the “Days of Awe.” It is a time of prayer and fasting, a day to focus on the Lord and our need to get right with Him. And it is the only time God had commanded a fast. The biblical name for Day of Atonement, is Yom Kippurim, meaning “day of coverings, atonement, pardons, and reconciling.” We, too, can benefit from observing this time of reflection, repentance, and reconciliation with God even though Christ died for our sins.
Yom Kippur was the one time of the year that the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies, speak the Name of YHVH, and offer the blood sacrifice upon the Kapporet (ark cover). It is a day that provides prophetic insight into the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), and His High-Priestly service in offering His own blood on our behalf, as said in Hebrews 8:12, “…he entered the Holiest place once and for all. And he entered by means of his own blood, thus setting people free forever.” That was part one of God’s redemption plan, the true Day of Atonement. Part two will be the cleansing of ethnic Israel during Yom ADONAI, the Day of the LORD at the end of days. Read More

250,000 Women Gather on National Mall to Pray for the Nation: 'Last Stand Moment For America'

Tens of thousands of evangelical Christians gathered on the National Mall Saturday in Washington D.C. to pray for America to return to God.
"A Million Women" gathering was a 12-hour live-streamed event featuring worship, keynote speakers, and prayers to turn America back to godly values.
Millions around the world tuned in to the event described as "a gathering for those hungry to see the Lord's hand cover this nation...to fast and pray in unity as a LAST STAND moment for America."
For organizer and evangelist Lou Engle – the event was literally a dream come true. In 2017, God gave Engle a powerful dream where he knew God was raising up an "Esther movement" for such a time as this.
"Everyone knows, America is in a time of crisis, the world is in a time of crisis… fasting and prayer has always shifted history. Esther was raised up for a time if there wasn't a shift, they would lose a whole nation," Engle said. Read More

What is taking place regarding the weather is unprecedented. Thank God Hurricane Milton downgraded from a Category 5 to 3 before hitting land. The power of prayer! But Hurricane Nadine is now forming in the south.
Even as we continue to receive reports that relief efforts in North Carolina are slow and have been hampered by FEMA and other govt entities. The media continues to report around 200+ total dead from Hurricane Helene. However, reports from workers onsite in North Carolina alone have have said it’s more likely closer to 2000 dead. We need to ask ourselves why does the media/govt continue to lie?
Glenn Beck and his team went and have confirmed these reports.
FEMA and the Red Cross took days to show up and some still preventing rescue efforts by the community as “unapproved.” Why would these entities delay life-saving help until they can “approve” someone? This is insanity. What it shows, however, is how the Church and Americans have risen up to help in this time of crisis.
Biden bragged that his administration was “way out in front of the storm” with supplies already sent prior to Helene. But then it was learned that those supplies only went to Florida while states in the primary path beyond Florida weren’t part of that preliminary govt prep.
It took Biden six days to show up—empty handed. But it forced rescue efforts to grind to a halt for 4 hours due to a No Fly Zone put in place for his arrival. Let’s not forget when it took 2-3 days for George W to show up in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Obama roasted Bush and FEMA’s slow response. Yet those same people are silent in the face of the Biden/Harris lack of response to Hurricane Helene victims.

Father, We pray now for all who have been impacted by these storms. Many are in desperate need of food and water and the basic resources to survive. We pray that the relief efforts by ministries and the community will be strengthened and not hindered. Lord you see and know what is going on behind the scenes. There is no logical reason that assistance and help should be refused—and yet we hear it is happening. There is no logical reason people should be left on a mountain, or the number of deaths under reported. You see all and You said their would be nothing hidden that would not be revealed. We pray that You would expose and reveal all that is taking place and bring comfort, peace and hope to the many in need of help and hope right now.
We pray hope for the hopeless. Strength for the weary. Rescue for those still in need and comfort for all who have lost someone they love or have someone still missing. We pray also for the rescue workers that You would replenish them and bless them as they volunteer their time. You see how the Biden/Harris administration and all controlling it have squandered taxpayer funds above the interests of American citizens. You see how they are destroying our nation. As we head toward this election, many may not even be able to vote, or focus on it as they are simply trying to put their lives back together. Father you said You are the God of all hope. We cry out to You.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts all in affliction, may those going to help carry that God-ordained comfort share it with the hurting. We pray that they could cast all their anxiety on You and know that You are there and that You care for them. May the lost find You in this time of crisis. And may those missing be found.
May they experience the peace that You have given to us by the Holy Spirit. Not as the world gives do you give to us. Let not their hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Despite the circumstances we pray peace instead of fear and declare “Fear not!”

Secret tomb found under ‘Indiana Jones’ filming location in Petra
|

At the heart of the ancient city of Petra, Jordan, carved into pink sandstone cliffs, lies an elaborate monument known as the Khaznah, or the Treasury.
And buried beneath that edifice, archaeologists recently discovered, is a tomb with at least 12 human skeletons and artifacts that are estimated to be at least 2,000 years old.
Archaeologists led by Dr. Pearce Paul Creasman, executive director of the American Center of Research, unearthed the ancient tomb. The expedition was studying the Treasury after years of speculation that two tombs found below the left side of the monument in 2003 weren’t the only secret underground chambers. But that theory had not been confirmed — until now.
Creasman and his team performed ground-penetrating radar — a remote sensing technique that uses radar pulses to detect underground objects — earlier this year to see whether the physical features on the left, where the original tombs were found, matched those on the right. The detections revealed strong similarities among the two sides, and it was the proof they needed to receive permission from the Jordanian government to dig beneath the Treasury.
At this point, Creasman contacted Josh Gates, host of Discovery Channel’s “Expedition Unknown.” “I think we’ve got something,” Creasman said he told the explorer over the phone.
With a film crew, the team excavated the newly uncovered tomb in August. But the real surprise was what lay within the tomb. While many tombs uncovered within Petra are found empty or disturbed, the chamber was filled with complete skeletal remains and grave goods made from bronze, iron and ceramic. The intact burial found beneath the Treasury provides rare insight into the lives of the Nabataeans, ancient Arabian nomads whose desert kingdom thrived during fourth century BC to AD 106, Creasman said.
