Report: U.S. Weapons from Afghanistan Ended up with Palestinian Groups Operating in the Gaza Strip
|
|
A claim in a news report that American weapons seized in Afghanistan have ended up in the hands of Palestinian groups operating in the Gaza Strip has taken on renewed significance after Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group, launched an attack on Israel on Saturday.
According to a Newsweek report published in June, an Israeli commander said some of the US. small arms seized in Afghanistan have already been observed in the hands of Palestinian groups operating in the Gaza Strip.
The report began recirculating on social media, amid accusations that the Biden administration funded Hamas’s terrorist attack on Israel by releasing $6 billion in frozen funds to Iran, the main backer of Hamas.
The Biden administration pushed back against those accusations that the $6 billion unfrozen for Iran went to Sunday’s attack, saying it has not yet been released, is controlled by a Qatari bank, and only will be used for humanitarian purposes.
However, critics of the Biden administration argued that since money is fungible, it is still adding to Iran’s coffers and frees up the government to spend on other things, such as supporting terrorist groups like Hamas. (Breitbart) Read more here.

Dozens of NY law enforcement leaders stranded in Israel during counterterrorism training
|

Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah confirmed Saturday evening that six local law enforcement leaders are among a 32-member New York delegation "that traveled to Israel Oct. 5" for a training and are awaiting evacuation in the country.
"A deputy chief investigator from our office is one of six law enforcement leaders from Westchester County among a 32-member New York delegation that traveled to Israel Oct. 5 for an international counterterrorism and antisemitism training," Rocah said. "I am in communication with our deputy chief who informed me that though the delegation is close to the Gaza Strip, they are sheltering in a safe location and every effort is underway for their safe return to New York."
"While I am personally overcome with emotions about the devastation unfolding in Israel, I share in the gratitude I hear from our colleagues about their well-being and protection during their evacuation despite wanting to stay for their week-long training," she added. (Fox News) Read more here.

High-Level Iranian Spy Ring Busted in Washington

The Biden administration’s now-suspended Iran envoy Robert Malley helped to fund, support, and direct an Iranian intelligence operation designed to influence the United States and allied governments, according to a trove of purloined Iranian government emails. The emails, which were reported on by veteran Wall Street Journal correspondent Jay Solomon, writing in Semafor, and by Iran International, the London-based émigré opposition outlet which is the most widely read independent news source inside Iran, were published last week after being extensively verified over a period of several months by the two outlets. They showed that Malley had helped to infiltrate an Iranian agent of influence named Ariane Tabatabai into some of the most sensitive positions in the U.S. government—first at the State Department and now the Pentagon, where she has been serving as chief of staff for the assistant secretary of defense for special operations, Christopher Maier.
On Thursday, Maier told a congressional committee that the Defense Department is “actively looking into whether all law and policy was properly followed in granting my chief of staff top secret special compartmented information.”
The emails, which were exchanged over a period of several years between Iranian regime diplomats and analysts, show that Tabatabai was part of a regime propaganda unit set up in 2014 by the Iranian Foreign Ministry. The Iran Experts Initiative (IEI) tasked operatives drawn from Iranian diaspora communities to promote Iranian interests during the clerical regime’s negotiations with the United States over its nuclear weapons program. Though several of the IEI operatives and others named in the emails have sought to portray themselves on social media as having engaged with the regime in their capacity as academic experts, or in order to promote better understanding between the United States and Iran, none has questioned the veracity of the emails. 1. ANALYSIS: Iranian Regime’s Role in Ongoing Terrorist Attacks on Israel - The Epoch Times
The Islamic terrorist group that carried out the surprise attack on Israel over the weekend receives funding and equipment from Iran, a country that has sent billions of dollars over the years to its terror proxies toward its stated goal of the destruction of the Jewish state.
The Izzuddin Al-Qassam Brigades (IQB), which carried out the attack, praised Iran for its support.
“We thank the Islamic Republic of Iran who provided us with weapons, money, and other equipment!" a spokesperson of IQB says in a video clip being shared on social media. "He gave us missiles to destroy Zionist fortresses and helped us with standard anti-tank missiles!” (Read more)

2. Israeli forces retake control of Gaza border region - JNS
Israeli forces have regained control of all the communities near the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces announced on Monday morning after two days of combat with Hamas terrorists.
“We are in control of the ‘Gaza envelope’ communities,” IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told journalists during a press briefing. He warned, however, that there are still terrorists in the area.
Hagari added that the military has called up 300,000 reservists.
Early Monday morning, exchanges of fire took place at Kibbutz Be’eri, Kibbutz Holit, Kibbutz Kfar Aza, Kibbutz Nir Oz, Kibbutz Nirim, Kibbutz Alumim and the Gavim Junction near the city of Sderot.
In addition, Israeli forces killed several Hamas terrorists at a swimming pool in Sderot.
Hagari said three Palestinian terrorists were “neutralized” in the Sha’ar Hanegev region, adjacent to the northeastern Gaza Strip. One terrorist was killed in Be’eri; in Holit and Kibbutz Sufa, five were killed; and in Alumim, four were killed. (Read more)

3. Israel orders ‘complete siege’ on Gaza Strip - JNS
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has ordered a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip as the Israel Defense Forces prepares for a major offensive in response to Hamas’s deadly surprise attack on Oct. 7, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.
“There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel; everything is closed,” Gallant stated following an assessment at the IDF Southern Command in Beersheva.
“We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly,” added the defense minister.
In a separate announcement on Monday, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz said that he instructed authorities to cut off water to the Strip.
Hamas has killed at least 800 Israelis and wounded more than 2,300 on Saturday in a massive offensive that included the launch of thousands of rockets at the Jewish state. (Read more)

4. Gantz faction says unity government may be clinched Tuesday - Times of Israel
A source in Benny Gantz’s National Unity says progress has been made in the discussions to bring the party into the government, given the war with Hamas, and that a deal is now likely.
“The ball is now in [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s court, [but] we hope that tomorrow we’ll be able to bless the finished product,” says the source.
A report by the Kan public broadcaster which first published news of an imminent agreement says that sources involved in the discussions between Netanyahu and Gantz said late Monday night that “the conditions for an emergency government are now ripe” and that a final decision will be made after a meeting of coalition leaders tomorrow.
National Unity has said it wants a small war cabinet to be set up with representation from its party and “real influence” for its cabinet members over the management of the war in order to join the government. (Read more)

5. Fighting spreads to Israel’s northern border, 6 IDF soldiers wounded - World Israel News
A terrorist infiltration was reported in northern Israel Monday afternoon, outside of the town of Adamit in the northwestern Galilee, less than half a mile from the Lebanese border.
Residents of Adamit and the surrounding area have been instructed to remain in their homes.
According to preliminary reports, a group of at least five terrorists was spotted, with Israeli ground forces and military helicopters engaging the terror cell.
Israeli security forces are conducting searches of the surrounding area for an additional terrorists who may have infiltrated across the border.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed the infiltration, adding that two of the terrorists had been killed
“IDF forces killed a number of armed individuals who had crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanese territory,” the spokesperson said. “The soldiers are continuing their searches of the area.” (Read more)

6. Amid Gaza Conflict, Israel Strikes Hezbollah Positions in Lebanon After Infiltration on Northern Border - Algemeiner
As Israel battles Hamas in the south, the Jewish state on Monday carried out helicopter airstrikes on Hezbollah positions after a reported infiltration of Israeli territory from the north.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a series of statements that it had killed a number of armed suspects that had infiltrated into Israel and that soldiers had been deployed to the area to carry out further searches. The IDF also said that it was carrying out airstrikes after two mortar shells were fired towards Israeli territory, with no injuries reported.
IDF Homefront Command has issued an instruction for the civilians in towns near the Lebanese border to stay indoors until further notice.
Unconfirmed videos and images of the airstrikes on social media depict the destruction of Hezbollah observation posts along the border, and also show the IDF deploying further reinforcements to the area. Hezbollah has erected dozens of observation posts along the Israel–Lebanon border. (Read more)

1. Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign vehicle involved in car crash with protesters- Washington Examiner
A group of liberal protesters were involved in a car crash with a campaign vehicle for Republican presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy on Thursday outside a campaign stop in Grinnell, Iowa.
The scene outside the coffee house where Ramaswamy appeared included a handful of protesters who shouted obscenities at the candidate. One of the protesters inside the blue Honda Civic appeared to give Ramaswamy the middle finger and blared the car horn. Police said the campaign and the driver told officers the crash was not intentional, according to local outlet KCCI.
One of the protesters outside the car slammed Ramaswamy for his stance on education and public schools. The protester's mother was a public school "worker" who deserved to be paid and respected.
"I think every person deserves to be respected, but we are failing to do right by our kids in this country," Ramaswamy said. "Our achievement gap versus other countries is bad, and we're all in that together. But here is what I will say: The beauty of this country is that you all have the right to express your opinions, and you're doing it peacefully. And even though I disagree with you, I'm proud of you for expressing your views." (Read more)

2. I survived Mao. Hillary Clinton's call for 'deprogramming' of Trump supporters is no joke, it's alarming- Fox News
In a recent CNN interview, former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton called for "formal deprogramming" of what she terms as the "MAGA cult." Formal? Did she mean government-sponsored deprogramming?
This is not the first time the left is calling for deprogramming of the right.
In 2021, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., proposed using taxpayer funds to deprogram white supremacists, a code name for conservatives and MAGA Republicans.
The list of others calling for deprogramming also includes Katie Couric, former CBS News and NBC "Today" host, who told Bill Maher in 2021: "And the question is, how are we going to really almost deprogram these people who have signed up for the cult of Trump."
Why such a call for deprogramming?
After the thorough demonization of Donald Trump, the left has been totally dismayed that his supporters still stand behind him with unwavering conviction.
The only option left for the left is to demonize all conservatives and MAGA Republicans as extremists, as white supremacists, or as threats to "our democracy" —in other words, enemies of the state. (Read more)

Saturday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Cavuto Live,” Rep. Kevin Hern (R-OK), who was reportedly a candidate for the House Speaker seat vacated by Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), said he was formally stepping aside to allow for a contest between House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
“So let me ask you about — you’ve talked about responding with one voice on this, so that could be paraphrasing here, sir,” host Neil Cavuto said. “But there’s been a good deal to talk about now since Kevin McCarthy’s surprise removal as Speaker that — that you have to unite around someone. Your name has come up as a possible candidate for Speaker, are you?”
“Well, certainly what I’ve done is I said to you before, and I’ve said to others, I was going to spend the time to talk to every single member,” Hern replied. “I’ve talked to over 200 with a lot of thoughts of prayer, especially what we’re seeing right now with Israel. I think it’s time that we do everything we can to unify our party. I know there’s a lot of people that are upset members that are upset. 4. Biden Now Offers ‘Temporary’ Amnesty to over a Million Foreign Nationals - Breitbart
President Joe Biden has hugely expanded the federal government’s Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program, which serves as a de facto amnesty scheme, to allow more than a million foreign nationals to remain in the United States who would have otherwise been considered illegal aliens.
On Friday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that about 10,000 Cameroonian nationals in the U.S. would become eligible for TPS, including more than 2,000 who will have their TPS extended.

5. New York appeals judge rules to let Trump control his businesses, declines to halt civil fraud trial - Just the News
Former President Donald Trump was handed a win when a New York appeals judge ruled on Friday that Trump is allowed to control his businesses as of now, but the judge declined to pause his civil fraud trial.
The former president's attorneys requested a delay in New York Attorney General Letitia James' fraud case against him.
James is seeking $250 million in damages and an order barring Trump from doing business in New York. Trump, for his part, considers the case a political attack and part of a broader witch hunt designed to derail his 2024 White House bid.
In late September, New York Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump was responsible for defrauding banks and insurers by inflating the value of his properties, which would have secured benefits such as better loan terms and cheaper insurance. (Read more)

A flurry of production contract announcements since then shows that the Pentagon is making a strong effort to feed Ukraine’s ever-hungry artillery units until the war ends, though maintaining that production capacity in peacetime presents yet another politically testy problem, retired Col. Mark Cancian, a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

7. 45 US House Republicans seek to prevent another speaker ouster- Reuters/US News
Forty-five allies of former U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy are calling on their Republican colleagues for "fundamental changes" that would make it more difficult for a small faction to oust whoever may take his place.
As the slim 221-212 Republican majority in the House of Representatives prepares to select a replacement for McCarthy, the letter underscores the acrimony hovering over the stalled chamber as Congress approaches a new government shutdown deadline on Nov. 17.
The group, largely comprised of centrists, called for unspecified rule changes to ensure that a handful of Republicans will not be able to align with the chamber's Democrats to vote out a speaker or block party priorities.
"We cannot allow our majority to be dictated to by the alliance between the chaos caucus and the minority party that will do nothing more than guarantee the failure of our next speaker," they wrote.
Many of the signatories have already called for changing a rule that allows a single lawmaker to force a vote to remove the speaker. (Read more)

8. Biden Admin Fires Next Salvo In War On Appliances – Daily Caller
The Biden administration finalized a regulation that will impact appliances and proposed another that could do the same on Friday.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced two actions targeting the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), chemicals commonly used in refrigerators and air conditioners, as part of the administration’s wider climate agenda, the agency announced Friday. The EPA proposed one HFC-related action and finalized another, the latter of which will restrict HFCs in 40 types of imported or domestically-produced foams, aerosols, refrigeration equipment, air conditioning and heat pumps and push the relevant markets towards embracing more energy efficient products.
“Today’s actions embody President Biden’s leadership on the climate crisis by tackling these planet warming chemicals while investing in American technology and innovation,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan said. “This final rule supports our transition away from HFCs and positions our nation to be competitive on the global stage.” (Read more)

Taking Inventory Of Our Faith

In this day and age, there is much that tests our faith. We live in a world where godlessness bombards us every minute of every day. The media blasts 24-7, and if you were to listen to the world, the news media, the politicians, there is very little that can boost your faith in God. The immorality that has become common place from the types of television programming to commercials to what is being taught in pubic schools detracts from the building blocks of faith in God. There are many replacements for faith and the prophets of society remind us every day, every minute that it is man, not God, who defines science, who delivers aid, who is responsible for all things good. It’s time to take inventory of our faith.
Hebrews Chapter 11 is called the “Faith Chapter.” But what frames our faith? Looking at Hebrews 10:32-35 gives us insight. “Partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you yourselves had a better and permanent possession. Therefore, do not throw away your boldness (courage) which has a great reward.” First Century Christians faced even worse from the world than we do today. The writer of Hebrews exhorts us to not shrink back and have courage and confidence through faith that we will attain our eternal reward. Then there is Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Read More

Judge Hands Trump a Win in DC

A federal judge in Washington partially granted a request by former President Donald Trump's attorneys to allow for extra time to file motions in the federal election obstruction case ahead of his March 2024 trial.
U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan issued the order on Oct. 6, representing as a partial win for the Trump legal team. In court papers filed last week with the court, they had wanted additional time to craft arguments in the case, which was brought by special counsel Jack Smith.
The judge granted President Trump some additional time to file motions, although she mostly rejected his lawyer's requests to delay the trial deadlines. In her order, she rejected the former president's request to order a declassified version of some of the government's court filings regarding classified evidence.
"Lengthy deadline extensions for the defense’s anticipated dispositive motions—like motions to dismiss—are not warranted," her order said. Truly it is a huge challenge just to keep up with all that is going on, much less pause, catch our breath, and -- as the intercessors we are -- hear what our Lord
would have us target for prayer, and then how to "enter in," each time, according to His will.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly told President Biden that a ground operation in the Gaza Strip is necessary after Hamas launched deadly strikes on his country.
The remark, made in a phone call between the two leaders, came as Biden raised concerns about Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip if a ground operation should commence, three Israeli and U.S. sources briefed on the call told Axios.
"We have to go in. We can't negotiate now," Netanyahu told the president, according to the outlet.
Netanyahu told Biden that Israel has no choice but to respond with force since a country cannot display weakness in the volatile Middle East, Axios also reported, citing the sources.
"We need to restore deterrence," Netanyahu reportedly said.
The State Department said nine Americans have been killed so far in the attacks by Hamas, which began on Saturday. (Fox News) Read more.

Ancient tomb may have belonged to a courtesan with Alexander the Great's army, archeologists reveal

|
Israeli archeologists may have discovered the first-ever tomb of a woman known as a "hetaira" to Alexander the Great's army in Ancient Greece.
A hetaira, or courtesan, was an "esteemed escort," said the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
More specifically, hetaira were "one of a class of professional independent courtesans of Ancient Greece who, besides developing physical beauty, cultivated their minds and talents to a degree far beyond that allowed to the average Attic woman," said Encyclopedia Britannica.
The tomb was discovered in 2019 alongside "strange grave goods" during a salvage expedition in Jerusalem's Talpiot neighborhood, said Haaretz.
A paper discussing these findings is set to be published soon.
The woman was buried with "iron nails and an expensive mirror," purportedly to accompany her to the afterlife.
The mirror was described as bronze, and is "a rare and precious artifact that dates to the time of Alexander."
Dr. Yossi Nagar, an anthropologist with the Israel Antiquities Authority, identified the bones as belonging to a woman who was about 20 to 30 years old when she died. Read More

Israel Standing United in the Face of War

Hamas has declared war on Israel, IDF spokesman Richard Hecht told journalists in a briefing on Saturday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political opponents have declared their readiness to join together in the battle against Hamas. Opposition Leader Yair Lapid called for an “emergency government” to manage what he called 'the difficult and complex operation ahead of us.' The State of Israel is at war. It won’t be easy, and it won’t be short. It has strategic consequences which we haven’t seen for many years. There is a serious risk that it will become a multi-front war,” Lapid said in an announcement. Lapid said he met with Netanyahu and told him that “in this emergency situation I’m willing to put aside our differences and form an emergency, narrow, professional government with him to manage the difficult and complex operation ahead of us.” Benny Gantz, Leader of the opposition National Unity party, said earlier that Israel is “completely unified.”
“I want to say clearly, in a way that resonates from Gaza, via Beirut, to Tehran: The entire people of Israel are united,” Gantz said. “All Israel’s citizens stand behind the security forces, and the government has the backing to charge a heavy, painful and effective price in order that an event like this is not repeated." In light of the recent internal struggles in Israel between the right and the left, Gantz said that “There is no coalition and opposition now…just a single fist that will pound the enemy. It must be honestly said: the results of this attack are grave. Soon, some of the rumors will be confirmed as bad and painful news for us all. I send my condolences to the families of the fallen… and pray for the recovery of all the injured.” He said that Israel “can be taken by surprise, but it cannot be beaten, as we will prove this time as well.” (CBN) Read More Here
