Court Orders Release of True the Vote Leaders From Jail

Two leaders of the election integrity group True the Vote were released from jail after an appeals court overruled a judge’s order that they be detained for contempt of court.

Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips were ordered released by a panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit late on Nov. 6.

“IT IS ORDERED that Petitioners’ opposed motion for release from detention is GRANTED pending further order of this court,” the panel said in the order, which was obtained by The Epoch Times.

The panel consisted of Circuit Judges Catharina Haynes, a George W. Bush appointee; Kurt Engelhardt, a Donald Trump appointee; and Andrew Oldham, a Trump appointee.

Engelbrecht and Phillips were released on Nov. 7.

North Korea says missile tests were practices to 'mercilessly' strike key South Korean and US targets

North Korean military officials confirmed on Monday that their recent missile tests were intended as practice to "mercilessly" strike South Korean and American targets, as the East Asian country signals intent to attack military bases and operation command systems.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) escalated geopolitical tensions by firing dozens of missiles towards the sea last week in defiance of recent U.S.-South Korean air force drills. The DPRK's missile tests triggered evacuations in some Japanese and South Korean areas.

"The recent corresponding military operations by the Korean People’s Army are a clear answer of (North Korea) that the more persistently the enemies’ provocative military moves continue, the more thoroughly and mercilessly the KPA will counter them," the General Staff of North Korea’s military said in a statement carried by state media. 1. Israel Accused of Denying Palestinian ‘Right to Life’ During Activist’s Speech to UN Commission - Algemeiner

A Palestinian activist claimed on Tuesday that Israel has removed the “right to life” of Palestinians throughout Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during a speech before a UN panel in Geneva.

“We as Palestinians have basically zero to no rights–even the right to life, the most basic right,” Ubai Al-Aboudi — executive director of the Ramallah-based Bisan Center for Research and Development — told the second day of a five-day meeting of the “UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” created by the global body’s Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in the wake of the May 2021 war between the IDF and the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza.  

“Every political system between the river and the sea violates basic Palestinian human rights,” Al-Aboudi said, using a form of words associated with advocates who seek to end Israel’s existence as a sovereign Jewish state. (Read more) 

2. Smotrich demands de facto annexation across West Bank in gov't negotiations - Jerusalem Post

Religious Zionist Party leader Bezalel Smotrich on Tuesday demanded that Israeli settlements be governed by the relevant ministries rather than the IDF’s Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria, as part of coalition negotiations with presumptive incoming prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In meetings with the leaders of parties in the right-wing bloc this week, Netanyahu attempted to reach a slimmed-down coalition agreement on cabinet portfolios and for policy aims to be worked out after the government is sworn in. The party leaders have thus far rejected that offer, and the changes in the West Bank are among Smotrich’s policy demands.

Israeli towns in Judea and Samaria are under the military government, with the Civil Administration signing orders to apply many of the same laws to them as sovereign Israel. Smotrich seeks to entirely remove settlements from the Civil Administration's jurisdiction, while leaving it intact for governing Palestinians in Area C. (Read more) 

3. Health Ministry warns of eye-attacking parasite in the Kinneret - Israel National News

The Health Ministry is investigating the suspected presence of Microsporidia, an intracellular, spore-forming parasitic fungi, in the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) after 29 people were hospitalized with eye problems.

The Ministry has in recent days received reports from ophthalmologists about a growing number of people who had to be hospitalized from severe inflammation of the cornea, corneal scarring and, in the more serious cases, vision impairment.

The 29 patients had corneal lesions that are characteristic of microsporidium infection. (Read more)  

4. IDF: Shots fired at troops along northern West Bank barrier; no injuries - Times of Israel

Palestinian gunmen opened fire at Israeli troops operating along the northern West Bank security barrier on Tuesday night, without causing any injuries, the military said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the gunmen opened fire from a passing vehicle at troops operating between the Palestinian village of Faqqua and the Israeli town of Ma’ale Gilboa.

The military said the troops returned fire at the gunmen as they fled. No Israeli soldiers were hurt in the attack. (Read more) 

5. Morocco opens Arab world’s first campus synagogue - World Israel News

The first university campus synagogue in the Arab world was opened in Morocco Thursday in a ceremony attended by the heads of the Jewish communities of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as local Jewish and non-Jewish leaders.

The small house of prayer was built in the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Marrakech with the full support of the school’s administration, which received funding as well from Morocco’s Mimouna Association and the American Sephardi Federation.

While there are a few Jewish faculty members on campus, there are no Jewish students as of yet, according to Jason Guberman, the Federation’s executive director. This is set to change, he told The Media Line, in the wake of “several research partnerships with Israeli institutions” that were recently inked. (Read more)

1. Trump sets a date for a ‘very big announcement’ - DML News
 
While speaking at a “Save America” rally in Ohio Monday night, former President Donald Trump yet again hinted at a 2024 presidential run, but this time he actually set a date for a “big announcement.”
 
It was highly speculated that Trump may make his announcement at the rally Monday night, and the speculation increased when it was learned that his two oldest sons would be attending the rally as well.
 
I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, November 15th at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida,” Trump said toward the end of his speech Monday night.
“We want nothing to detract from the importance of tomorrow,” Trump added.
The crowd erupted into cheers when Trump announced the date of his upcoming ‘announcement.’ (Read more)

2. Biden Admin Set Up Illegal Migrants In Hotel Suites, Complete With Room Service - The Daily Caller
 
The Biden administration placed illegal migrants into taxpayer-funded hotel suites with comfortable accommodations, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) contracting documents obtained by conservative group America First Legal.
 
Illegal migrants must have access to a number of comfortable accommodations, including room service and child care, while under the care of eligible “service providers,” according to the documents, which were obtained via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The requirements for some of the illegal migrants include that the “service provider” must provide “meat based courses” at every meal, which is delivered to each illegal migrants’ rooms, “24-hour access” to drinks and snacks, television programming in both English and Spanish and mattresses of a certain thickness.
 
Mattresses are required to be at least 4 inches thick, and, if that product isn’t available and the illegal migrant isn’t comfortable, the “service provider” must provide two smaller mattresses, the documents show. (Read more)  

- How shocking, Lord, that illegals are being treated better than typical, hardworking citizens!  We pray for the this information to be widely distributed and for action taken to stop this egregiously unfair program.  Lord, we pray for this upside down policy to be changed and for our tax dollars to be spent to send them back to their homes.  We pray for them to hear and receive the Gospel and for them to take it back to where they came from so that they may live in peace and security.  Oh, Lord, restore justice to this situation.

3. Bannon's prison sentence suspended pending appeal - Just The News
 
federal judge has suspended the four-month prison sentence of former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon pending an appeal. Judge Carl Nichols, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, ordered a stay of the sentence for contempt of Congress in a ruling published Tuesday by The Post Millennial. 
 
The court found that Bannon "is not likely to flee or pose a danger to the safety of any other person of the community if released" and that "his appeal is not taken for the purpose of delay but rather raises a substantial question of law that is likely to result in a reversal or an order for a new trial."
 
Bannon, 68, was sentenced last month to four months in prison and a fine of $6,500 after he was found guilty on two counts of contempt for not complying with the House Jan. 6 committee. (Read more)   

- We praise You, Lord, that Steve Bannon has found favor with this judge to have his imprisonment delayed while he pursues an appeal.  We pray for more conservatives to find such favor as prayers for the ending of the January 6 committee go forth to protect our country from persecution of political enemies.  We pray for a total ending to this type of activity and that never again will Congress be allowed to do this.

4. Despot Xi orders China to prepare for WAR and warns world order is on the brink of collapse in chilling escalation - The Sun
 
XI Jinping has ordered China to prepare for war as he warned his nation's security situation is "increasingly unstable". In a chilling escalation, the Chinese dictator declared that Beijing will "comprehensively strengthen its military training and preparation for any war".
 
According to state broadcaster CCTV, Xi said the move was sparked by China's "increasingly unstable and uncertain" security. It comes amid fears China - which has the second-largest economy and military in the world - is preparing to invade the self-governing island of Taiwan.
 
Tensions between the two nations have hit boiling point in recent months, with Bejing continuing to flex its military muscles by launching jets into Taiwan's airspace and firing missiles in haunting drills.
Xi has vowed to "unify" Taiwan - and experts believe he is "all but guaranteed" to attack the nation after becoming leader for life. (Read more)

5. Poland gives details on $20B nuclear power bid - Politico
 
U.S. nuclear power technology provider Westinghouse will build Poland’s first reactor by 2033, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said Wednesday.
 
“We assume the overall cost at around $20 billion,” he told reporters, adding: “The upfront capital investment is big but once a nuclear power plant is operational, the cost of generating electricity is relatively low.” 
Poland is looking at nuclear power to reduce its dependence on coal, which still accounts for around 70 percent of the country’s energy mix. That also dovetails with an effort to end reliance on Russian coal, oil and gas.
 
Poland is one of the few countries in Central Europe with no nuclear power sector; an effort to build a power plant in the 1980s was thwarted by the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and by Poland’s financial woes.

6. Russian attacks leave Kyiv, other regions in the dark; Iran admits supplying drones to Russia - MSN

 

While the heavy fighting in Ukraine is concentrated in the east and south, the capital of Kyiv in the northcentral region and its surrounding areas are subjected to a different kind of assault —  one relying on suffering and disruption as weapons.
 
Under duress because of Russian attacks that have destroyed 40% of the country's energy infrastructure, Ukraine's electricity operator has announced rolling blackouts for Kyiv and six other nearby regions, including Kharkiv. Unscheduled emergency outages are expected as well.
 
Power outages caused by Russia's drone and missile attacks have affected 16 provinces and forced Kyiv officials to contemplate conducting mass evacuations. They plan to establish about 1,000 heating shelters but noted that may not be enough for the city's 3 million people. Kyiv's average temperatures in the winter range from the low 20s to the low 30s. 7. Tropical Storm Nicole To Strike Florida As A Hurricane With Storm Surge, Winds, Flooding Rain - The Weather Channel
 
Tropical Storm Nicole is forecast to make landfall in Florida as a hurricane, but its impacts including prolonged coastal flooding, beach erosion, strong winds, high surf, rip currents and heavy rain will encompass a much larger area of the Southeast. Nicole is gaining strength and centered a few hundred miles east of the Bahamas and is tracking westward.
 
Nicole has a large wind field, which means impacts will be felt across a broad part of the Southeast coast far away from where its center tracks. Winds are already frequently gusting over 30 mph in Florida, particularly near the Atlantic beaches and occasionally along parts of the Georgia coast.
 
A hurricane warning has been issued for areas near Florida's Atlantic coast from Boca Raton to the Flagler - Volusia County line, and remains in effect for the northwest Bahamas, including Grand Bahama Island. This means hurricane conditions are expected in these areas. (Read more)

A friend of mine who is long passed on was very wise. He was once a Democrat, but finished his life as a Republican. He achieved much in his lifetime. Some of the things he wrote and said ring true today just the same as they were back in his time. For example, he said, “This is the issue of this election: Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can ourselves.” Obviously, he was against big government, but more importantly, he was against controlling government, overreaching government. Such things lead to corruption and tyranny.

He said, “You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left or right. Well I’d like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There’s only an up or down- up, man’s old-aged dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. And regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.” We have seen this in how the Democratic Party has consistently defunded the police to no good end with crime rapidly rising in all those cities. We also see how the same party has taken our freedoms “for the good of the masses” during COVID. Read More

NASA's Artemis I moon rocket to stay on launch pad as
Nicole tracks toward Florida
A hurricane watch is in effect for the Kennedy Space Center ahead of Nicole, which could once again delay the launch of NASA's new moon rocket.

NASA's highly-anticipated return to the moon might be delayed once again, not due to technical issues, but due to tumultuous tropical weather. Tropical Storm Nicole developed over the weekend, and AccuWeather forecasters are warning that it could strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall along Florida's Atlantic coast.

Artemis I, the first of NASA's program to return humans to the surface of the moon, is slated to launch on Monday, Nov. 14, but the ominous forecast could disrupt the timeline. A hurricane watch is in effect for the Kennedy Space Center with the massive moon-bound rocket currently on the launchpad.

NASA announced on Monday that the 322-foot-tall rocket would stay on the launch pad through Nicole rather than rolling the rocket back to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), which is built to withstand a Category 3 hurricane. It takes at least three days for ground crews to prepare the rocket to start its trip back to the VAB.

Less than a week ago on Friday, Nov. 4, the rocket was transported from the VAB to the launchpad ahead of the anticipated launch on Monday, Nov. 14. The rocket is built to withstand winds up to 85 mph (74.1 knots), wind speeds that are commonly found near the center of Category 1 hurricanes. 'Criminalized Kindness': Grandma Sues City That Arrested Her for Feeding the Homeless
A 78-year-old grandmother has filed a federal lawsuit against Bullhead City, Arizona, nearly eight months after she was arrested for giving away hot home-cooked meals to homeless people in a city park earlier this year.  USA Today reports police arrested Norma Thornton for sharing food at a park in violation of a 2021 city ordinance that heavily restricts the sharing of food for "charitable purposes" at a public park. According to the 27-page lawsuit, Thornton has been serving people food at the park for four years. Since the nearest shelters and food pantries are located several miles away, she decided to bring the food to the people in the park. 

Thornton is being represented by the nonprofit law firm Institute for Justice (IJ). Her attorneys argue the city's ordinance violates her constitutional rights. In the lawsuit, they note the ordinance prohibits her right to engage in charitable acts and to share food with the needy, which is protected by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. "This case is about kindness. Bullhead City has criminalized kindness," Attorney Suranjan Sen, a member of Thornton's legal team told KPHO-TV. "The city council passed an ordinance that makes it a crime punishable by four months imprisonment to share food in public parks for charitable purposes." Thornton owned and operated a restaurant in Alaska before retiring to Bullhead City several years ago. She became acquainted with the city's homeless population and decided to do something to help. 

From early 2018 to March 8, 2022, she regularly used a local public park to share her home-cooked food with people in need. On March 8, Thornton was arrested and accused of violating the ordinance against sharing food for "charitable purposes" at public parks, AZ Central reported. The charges were later dropped in July. But the Arizona grandmother said she was warned that if she began sharing food in the park again, she would go to jail. But she doesn't want to stop helping people. "When you share your food, it warms the people's hearts and it gives them a little piece of you, a little piece of love," she said. "And when it's something that really tastes good or excites them, you can see it in their eyes." (CBN) Read More Here
