A Surprising Threat to the US Power Grid Could Plunge the Country Into Darkness
|
|
The importance of a strong power grid cannot be emphasized enough. Often, when a grid fails, the results are terrifying. Of all the major power grids in the world, the United States’ is one of the more vulnerable to attack.
State-sponsored hackers from the likes of Iran, Russia, and, unsurprisingly, China pose a real threat to the United States’ electrical transmission lines. However, there’s another (far less obvious) threat to the grid: electric vehicles ( EVs).
Yes, you read that right.
The Biden administration is desperate to consign the internal combustion engine to the dustbin of history. In this radical shift to embrace a new, zero-emission world, Americans are being told to embrace EVs. Such an embrace, however, requires a stellar power grid, the very thing the United States lacks.
Just to be clear, the U.S. power grid involves a huge network of transmission lines, power plants, and distribution centers. The United States has three major grids: the eastern grid, the western grid, and the ERCOT grid, otherwise known as the Texas grid. Of the three, the eastern grid is the largest.
Although the three grids can operate independently, they’re also connected. A failed grid means no power for tens of millions of citizens and prolonged periods of darkness. Florida Medical Boards Vote To Ban Medical Transition For Minors
|
|
A Florida rule passed Friday that prohibits minors from receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender-related surgeries.
On October 28, Florida’s Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine held a legislative meeting that proposed the rule to ban medical transition treatments for those under the age of 18 after hearing from expert testimony and public comment. On November 4, a second meeting was held where the committee voted on the rule, which passed, and is currently set to take effect after a 21-day public comment period.
“The chief point of agreement among all of the experts — and I must emphasize this — is that there is a pressing need for additional, high-quality clinical research,” said Dr. David A. Diamond, a radiation oncologist and the chair of the board.
Florida now joins the medical authorities of several European countries including Norway, Finland, Sweden, and the U.K. in concluding that the evidence of so-called “gender affirming” care, which includes puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries, is very poor and the risks are real. Police Respond to Arizona GOP Candidate Kari Lake’s Headquarters After ‘Suspicious Items’ Found
|
|
Officials in Phoenix said Sunday they found “suspicious items” found inside mail at Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s headquarters, while a Lake campaign staffer said that white powder was discovered.
“When officers arrived, they learned there were suspicious items located inside the mail,” Phoenix police Sgt. Phil Krynsky told Fox News, confirming earlier reports. “Additional resources responded to collect the items and secure the area. There have been no reports of injury and the investigation remains active.”
Lake’s campaign has not issued a public comment about the incident. The Epoch Times has contacted her campaign for comment.
Krynsky did not elaborate on the items that were discovered in the mail.

1. IDF slays Islamic Jihad leader in Jenin anti-terror raid - JNS
(November 3, 2022 / JNS) Israeli security forces killed Farouk Salama, 28, leader of the Jenin branch of the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), on Thursday, the IDF reported.
Following precise intelligence, soldiers entered a building in which the suspect was located. After an exchange of fire, Salama managed to run away. During a search for the suspect, he drew a gun. Soldiers responded with live fire and killed him.
Other armed terrorists fired at the soldiers, who responded in kind. Hits were identified. No IDF injuries were reported, according to an army statement.
Five additional wanted individuals were apprehended. A handgun and an M-16 rifle in their possession were confiscated, as was Salama’s handgun.(Read more)

2. Biden finally calls Netanyahu to congratulate him on election victory - World Israel News
President Joe Biden on Monday evening finally called apparent prime minister-elect Benjamin Netanyahu to congratulate him, almost a week after Israel held national elections.
Biden told Netanyahu that his commitment to Israel is “unquestionable,” a statement by Netanyahu’s Likud party said.
For his part, Netanyahu said the U.S.-Israel relationship is “as strong as ever.”

3. Israel Allies Caucus Co-Chairs Urge Countries to Say "No" to Anti-Israel Movement at UN - Israel National News
Three Co-Chairmen of the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus have written to the prime ministers of 27 countries, urging them to vote against the most harmful anti-Israel resolutions which will come before the UN General Assembly later this year.
Reps. Doug Lamborn (CO-5), Chris Smith (NJ-04), and Steve Chabot (OH-1) joined together in this effort to persuade countries to join the U.S. in opposing the reauthorization of funding for two UN bodies which exist for the sole purpose of delegitimizing and unfairly defaming the State of Israel: the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), and the Division for Palestinian Rights (DPR). According to the Congressmen, these two UN bodies function as key elements of the anti-Israel apparatus at the UN, employing staff to generate a regular flow of notoriously biased and non-credible reporting against Israel, yet they have been repeatedly reauthorized and funded since the 1970s. Therefore in recent years the number of countries voting to authorize and fund these anti-Israel entities has diminished significantly. Of all UN member states, Israel is the only one that the UN subjects to biased scrutiny by UN entities purpose-built to defame it.
The Co-Chairmen also wrote to Secretary of State Blinken, urging, "We believe it is time to move more rapidly toward retiring CEIRPP and DPR and ask the Department of State to make that a diplomatic priority: to urgently press other countries with whom we cooperate to join us in voting against this harmful resolution." 4. Jordan Warns New Israeli Government Over Temple Mount Status Quo - Algemeiner
Jordan warned Israel’s incoming government against changing the status quo of the Jerusalem holy site Temple Mount, media reported on Sunday.
Jordanian officials allegedly emphasized the negative effect such a change would have on the diplomatic relations with the Jewish state. The warning comes days after former prime minister and Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu secured the win in Israel’s general elections backed by the country’s right-wing parties that has previously pushed for allowing Jews to pray on the Temple Mount.
“Any attempt to change the status quo on the Temple Mount will definitely harm ties between Jordan and Israel,” an unnamed Jordanian source was quoted as saying, specifically mentioning far-right lawmaker Itamar Ben-Gvir, leader of the Jewish Power party, who has been visiting the holy site, which led to clashes with Muslim worshippers. For the second time in two days, IDF soldiers thwarted a drug smuggling attempt, this time worth 640,000 NIS.
Overnight, IDF soldiers spotted several suspects attempting to smuggle drugs from Egypt into Israeli territory. According to the IDF, soldiers were dispatched to the scene and thwarted the smuggling attempt.
The soldiers confiscated a sack containing 16kg of drugs, estimated at approximately 640,000 NIS. The drugs were transferred to the Israel Police for further processing. (Read more)

1. The EPA’s New Methane Rules Could Force Small Oil And Gas Drillers Out Of Business | The Daily Caller
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is finalizing rules that will restrict oil and gas producers’ methane emissions which could raise costs for independent drillers and force them to shut down.
The EPA’s methane rules, which are expected to be implemented in 2023, will force oil and gas well operators to plug methane leaks and adopt new performance standards for existing sources of methane emissions, according to the rule’s text. Such regulations could significantly raise operating costs for independent energy producers who mostly operate smaller wells and force them to go out of business, industry groups told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“The EPA’s regulatory program can be exceptionally demanding on small wells, which can be made uneconomical if the rule isn’t carefully crafted,” Independent Petroleum Association of America Executive Vice President Lee Fuller told the DCNF. “This is concerning because, during the 2020 election, Biden talked about eliminating fossil fuel energy as quickly as possible.”

A concerned Fairfax County mother attempted to highlight the school district's "lack of focus on academics" by calculating the amount of time spent in each of last year's meetings and claimed that academics were least prioritized.
The parent, who wished to remain anonymous, became interested in watching school board meetings during the COVID-induced school lock downs when her kids had to undergo virtual school.
"They were never talking about how to get the schools open," the mother told Fox News Digital. "They were talking about a lot of fluffy things and resolutions and recognitions and pet projects and things like that. And I was like, ‘Why are we not talking about getting kids back in school? What’s the plan? How are we going to do this?’"

3. US should show why American teacher held in Russia is not considered 'wrongfully detained,' congressman says | Fox News
A Pennsylvania congressman is pushing for President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken to release documents showing why Marc Fogel, an American being held in Russia, was not designated as being "wrongfully detained."
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, a Pennsylvania Republican, introduced the resolution on Thursday seeking an explanation as to why Fogel, who has been in Russia’s custody since August 2021, has not been classified as "wrongfully detained." According to Reschenthaler’s office, Fogel "meets at least six of the 11 established criteria to be designated as ‘wrongfully detained’ by the State Department."
"It is indisputable Marc Fogel meets the definition of wrongfully detained under the Levinson criteria," Reschenthaler said in a prepared statement. "Yet as his health rapidly deteriorates ahead of his transfer to a hard-labor penal colony, the Biden administration is still making excuses rather than following the letter of the law. They owe Congress an explanation for their inaction."

Russia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom has warned that Britain is “too deep” in the Ukraine war, bringing the NATO member “up to the line” of “no return” in terms of a possible conflict with Moscow.
In an interview with Sky News, the Russian ambassador to the Court of St. James’s, as ambassadors to the British royal court are formally known, claimed that evidence that the British military assisted a Ukrainian drone attack on his country’s Black Sea Fleet and was involved in blowing up the Nord Stream gas pipelines to Germany would become public “pretty soon”, and had already been passed to the British government.
“It is dangerous because it escalates the situation,” Ambassador Andrey Kelin said of Britain’s involvement in the Russo-Ukrainian war, which has arguably been going on since Russia’s intervention in the Euromaidan coup of 2014 but has certainly had the character of a full-blown war since February 2022, when Russian forces invaded Ukraine from the north, east, and south.

President Joe Biden mistakenly boasted on Friday that American auto companies would be ready to make all of their vehicles electric by the year “3035.”
The president spoke about auto companies during a speech in San Diego about subsidizing American semiconductor chip manufacturing.
During his speech, Biden recalled a meeting he had at the White House with American auto company CEOs, including General Motors CEO Mary Barra, whom he has met several times since taking office.
He mistakenly stumbled over the name, sounding as though he said “Amy Barrett” before correcting himself and saying “Chairman Barra.”

In the same glorious week election-deniers Jake Tapper and Shepard Smith were respectively demoted and left without a show, conspiracy theorist Tiffany Cross was shown the door at MSNBC.
After two years at the far-left outlet, Cross, who hosted a Saturday show called Cross Connection, had become infamous and a running joke for spreading wild-eyed conspiracy theories, most of which were based on what you might call racial paranoia.
From last month: “I would say a civil war is here. And I don’t mean to be hyperbolic.”
After Democrats lost Virginia last year:
This isn’t about enthusiasm. This isn’t about Democrats not doing enough to exercise their base, and this definitely is not about messaging or even about Beloved. This is about the fact that a good chunk of voters out there are OK with white supremacy. Let’s call a thing a thing. Actually, scratch that. They are more than OK.”
This is from April of last year: “I think that the practice of white supremacy is still deeply woven in this country when you have the oppressed adopting the talking points of the oppressors.”
- Lord, this rhetoric talking about “oppressors” is meant to divide our nation even further, and is straight from the enemy. Thank You that Tiffany Cross was fired, but we ask that You prevent her from any other platform where she can spread her venom. You alone know her heart, and we ask for her soul if You can reach her.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin blasted fellow Democrat President Joe Biden as “divorced from reality” Saturday in an extraordinary rebuke prompted by Biden’s vow to close coal-fired power plants.
Manchin, who represents a red state dependent on the coal industry and who has clashed with the socialist wing of his party before, reacted after Biden vowed Friday to replace coal energy with wind and solar and shut down plants “all across America.”

9. Longtime Trump Ally Tom Barrack Found Not Guilty Of Illegal Foreign Lobbying | The Daily Caller
A federal jury on Friday found Tom Barrack, who served as chairman of former President Donald Trump’s inauguration committee, not guilty of violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
Prosecutors charged Barrack in July 2021 with violating FARA through his dealings with officials from the United Arab Emirates, as well as lying to the FBI about those interactions. The jury, which began deliberating on Wednesday, delivered a not guilty verdict on nine counts. Barrack is one of several people close to Trump who have been charged with violating the World War II-era statute.
The Department of Justice alleged that Barrack edited Trump’s speeches during the 2016 presidential campaign cycle in ways that would be more palatable to the UAE. The indictment also claimed that Barrack gave UAE officials advice about potential cabinet nominees. During the trial, Barrack and his lawyers argued that he maintained business relationships with the UAE due to his role as founder of the hedge fund Colony Capital, and that conversations he had with officials were an extension of that.

10. ‘On Track To Repeat What Happened In Germany’: Clyburn Makes Nazi Comparison | The Daily Caller
House Majority Whip James Clyburn claimed Thursday in an interview with Fox News Digital that the U.S. is on track to become Nazi Germany. Clyburn warned that the U.S. is on the same path Germany was in the early 1930’s, according to Fox News Digital.
“It’s what happens in a country that follows what happened in Germany in the early ’30’s. And I said this in 2018, it caught a lot of hell from a lot of people for having said it, but it was true then and it’s true now,” Clyburn said in the interview. “This country is on track to repeat what happened in Germany when it was greatest democracy going, elected a chancellor who then co-opted the media. This past president called the press the enemy of the people. That is a bunch of crap. And we know it. And that’s what’s going on in this country.”
- Lord, this kind of foolish rhetoric allows uninformed voters an open door to the continuation of division in America. We bind this curse and return it to where it came from, asking that You erect a hedge of protection around these elections. We rebuke the lying demon who seeks to deceive voters about Republicans in the name of Jesus!

Something To Keep In Mind

As you go to the polls for this important mid-term election, there is a fundamental difference you should keep in mind. Democracy is the rule of the majority. Republicanism is elected representatives governing by the rule of law. See the subtle difference? Democracy often results in or is a disguise for totalitarianism because the rule of the majority can be might makes right. Proponents of totalitarianism often use the word “democracy” to convince people they are protecting minorities by putting forth propaganda, such as fear tactics, and token efforts while accusing opponents of prejudice against minorities. It is class warfare to divide and conquer. This is what America is experiencing on a heightened basis.
This is the struggle between democrats and republicans. It manifests itself in the false sense of caring for minorities while keeping them busy rather than providing them a path to true freedom and prosperity. It often results in the demonizing or social/physical harm of opponents of this so-called “democracy.” When Joe Biden and others, for example, say that Republicans are a threat to democracy, it is a truth—Republicanism is a threat to this brand of totalitarianism disguised as democracy. Since 2021, perceptions of fraud in the 2020 general election have contributed to several violent incidents and plots. New or emerging perceptions of fraud undermining the integrity of the midterm elections will likely exacerbate ongoing tensions during the 2022 election cycle.
A joint bulletin to law enforcement issued last week by the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the National Counterterrorism Center and the U.S. Capitol Police warned that extremists could target election-related locations:
"We assess some DVE's [Domestic Violent Extremists] motivated by election-related grievances would likely view election-related infrastructure, personnel, and voters involved in the election process as attractive targets—including at publicly accessible locations like polling places, ballot drop-box locations, voter registration sites, campaign events, and political party offices. DVEs could target components of the election infrastructure in hopes of swaying voting habits, undermining perceptions of the legitimacy of the voting process, or prompting a particular government reaction. The bulletin further warns of post-election threats:
"We assess DVEs likely pose a heightened threat of violence against a broad range of targets—such as ideological opponents or election workers—following the 2022 election in response to perceptions of election- related fraud or dissatisfaction with electoral outcomes."
AlertsUSA urges caution and vigilance in the coming days. Confidently cast your vote, but stay aware of your surroundings. Regardless of if you are simply a voter, an election worker, or a candidate, tensions will be high across the nation. Keep your phone and ear buds in your pocket.
Government officials and personnel, including candidates and officials involved in administering elections, should exercise an increased level of situational awareness and caution. "Election workers" are broadly defined as individuals overseeing or participating in the administration of a state’s election infrastructure, to include elected officials, appointed officials, staff, contractors, volunteers, vendors, liaisons, or other individuals participating in the administration of elections.

Make the vote too big to steal

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
Much of the news heading into tomorrow’s Election Day is inspiring. Many Americans have already voted and millions more are set to do so in person on Tuesday, with the prospect of a level of turnout possibly unprecedented for midterms.
It better be, because we need to ensure that the vote is too big to steal.
That’s because opportunities for material fraud that roiled the 2020 presidential race remain in place in some states. That makes the presence of record numbers of trained poll watchers monitoring the electoral process not just laudable, but absolutely necessary.
Additional good news on the election integrity front is the return to the fight of True the Vote’s Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips released yesterday from wrongful imprisonment on contempt of court charges. Congratulations folks! Now, back to work, when it is needed more than ever.

More than 41 million Americans have already voted in the 2022 midterm elections. Of these mail-in and early voting in-person ballots, we know that Democrats have a significant advantage – 45% to 35%.
Those who haven’t already voted will head to the voting booths tomorrow. If you have not yet done so, you must vote.
Turnout wins elections. And the latest NBC News poll finds that the critical enthusiasm gap – which party has the most motivated voters – has evaporated. A month ago, Republicans had a nine-point lead. Today, the parties are tied.
I don’t know what has suddenly motivated Democrats. Were they really that excited to see Barack Obama and Bill Clinton back on the campaign trail? Maybe they’re just now tuning in.
Whatever the reason, it’s a disturbing sign. In an atmosphere like this, none of the critical Senate races should be close. The fact they are close, given how left-wing the Democrat candidates are (see next item), is a reminder of just how narrowly divided the country is.
We must fight those in the Church who say Christians shouldn’t be involved in politics. They are surrendering the country to those who hate everything we believe in!

The mighty Nile fends off a rising sea, other forces of nature

Half a billion people depend on the Nile River for survival, but those living near the world's second-longest river are feeling the crush of sea level rise.
The Nile, the world’s second-longest river, has been in danger for half a century now, its flow dropping from 3,000 cubic meters per second to 2,830 cubic meters. Now, the river may have an even greater challenge: a submerged river delta as the rising Mediterranean Sea slowly takes over.
A recent report shows that the Nile River Delta, the third most vulnerable place on the planet to climate change and related heat waves, could go underwater by the end of the century due to rising sea levels, according to research by the Cyprus Institute’s climate and atmosphere research center and the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry.
The delta embodies an important farming area in Egypt and is home to about 40 percent of Egypt’s population, accounting for half of the country’s economy, according to the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization. The biggest concern is the direct and almost immediate impact the rising sea levels will have on the river and the delta’s surrounding communities.
AFP reported that if the sea level rises even by a meter, a third of this intensely fertile region could disappear, the United Nation fears, forcing about nine million people away from their homes in the near future. Read More

Woman who conceived twins in rape rejects abortion,
shares how her 21-year-old twins saved her life
|

Even today, Nancy Kelly swears she heard the sound of her unborn baby’s scream during the first abortion procedure she underwent. The sound would haunt her from that day forward.
It made such an impact on her heart that she chose to not abort the twins she would conceive years later, after she was raped. Today Kelly, 55, is a pro-life advocate who proudly vocalizes that those very same twins, now 21 and thriving, in fact saved her life.
Kelly was a registered nurse, then in her early 30s at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, when she experienced severe PTSD as a result of her abortion experience (she recalled being coerced into having a second one a year later); that trauma would torment her until much later in life, when she found faith. But the haunting memory jarred her enough to reject the procedure in time to save two other lives. Looking back, she believes it was the “moral compass” given to all people, believers and non-believers alike, from God, that compelled her to reject termination flat out. She felt unworthy of being a mother for what she had done.
“I daily looked at the faces of my children and knew that there were two that were missing, that there were faces that I would never know, hugs that I would never get, and laughter that I would never have,” she said. “God blessed me by making me pregnant with those kids.” Were it not for them, Kelly might not have found life worth living. They were her reasons. “If I’d given my babies away, I wouldn’t have had that blessing to look at and say, ‘These are the reasons.’ [The] Bible says that God takes everything and uses it for the good of those who love Him and are called by His purpose.”
