Marriage equality bill clears another vote despite lobbying by Cruz, other GOP senators
|
|
A bill strengthening protections for same-sex and interracial marriage cleared another procedural vote Monday night despite lobbying to reject it by some Republicans, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
The U.S. Senate returned from the Thanksgiving holiday break for a vote to limit debate on an amendment to the Respect for Marriage Act, which requires the federal government and states to recognize the validity of same-sex and interracial marriage licenses. Monday’s vote passed 61-35.
The amended Senate bill passed a key procedural hurdle 62-37 on Nov. 16, meaning 12 Republicans voted with Democrats to overcome the filibuster.
In the nearly two weeks since then, Cruz and other GOP senators have urged supporters to contact and apply pressure on the 12 Republicans in hopes at least three will flip to block the bill unless another Republican-backed amendment with additional religious liberty protections is passed.
“We’re going to find out today … whether three of the 12 Republicans who decided to embrace gay marriage are going to stand up for religious liberty or not,” Cruz said on his Monday podcast ahead of the vote. (US News) Read more here.

Khamenei’s niece arrested after calling for foreign governments to cut ties with Iranian regime
|
|
Farideh Moradkhani, the niece of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been arrested after calling on foreign governments to cut all ties with the Iranian government.
Moradkhani was arrested on Wednesday when she went to the prosecutor’s office in response to a court order, according to a tweet from her brother Mahmoud Moradkhani.
In a video statement shared by her brother prior to her arrest, Moradkhani called on people around the world to urge their governments to cut ties with the Iranian regime amid protests sweeping the nation, and to ask their governments to “stop any dealings with this regime.” (CNN) Read more

Syria, Iran deploy increased air defenses near Damascus - report
|
|
Syria and Iran have been deploying new air defense systems, including jamming and early warning systems, around Damascus in order to prevent Israeli airstrikes in the area, according to the Syrian Capital Voice site.
According to the report, the new systems were built by Korean and Chinese companies and provided by Iran as part of agreements reached between Syria and Iran.
Sources told the Capital Voice that the Syrian Defense Ministry tested jamming systems in October, succeeding and getting Israeli aircraft to leave Syrian airspace at least twice. (Jerusalem Post) Read more.

1. We're on the brink of civil war between Jews and Arabs, warns Acre mayor - Jerusalem Post
The State of Israel is "on the brink of civil war" between Jews and Arabs, warned Acre Mayor Shimon Lankri during an emergency conference of the Forum for Security, Governance and Settlement on Sunday.
"A moment before we fall into a civil war, and I say this really after I was a witness to all the events of the May [2021, Operation Guardian of the Walls], the endpoint of the events of May will be the opening mark for the coming events," said Lankri. "Whoever hasn't understood it yet, we are on the brink of civil war in the State of Israel and not Haredim against secular Jews, but rather Arabs against Jews this is the next civil war. This will happen to us soon."
Lankri called for governance to be restored in the Negev and Galilee stating "we need to do things that we haven't done until today. We abandoned the area and it's in our hands."

2. Two IDF vehicles stuck near Hebron, Palestinian Arabs throw rock and explosives at them - Israel National News
Two IDF jeeps got stuck on Monday evening in the Palestinian Arab village of Beit Ummar, near Hebron. Dozens of Palestinian Arab rioters arrived at the scene and threw rocks and explosives at the soldiers, who responded with live fire and with riot dispersal means.
IDF forces rescued the soldiers and the vehicles. The Palestinian Arabs reported at least five wounded, one of them in serious condition. There were no injuries among the soldiers.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that two military jeeps that were on an operational patrol in the village of Beit Ummar got stuck in the village as a result of a technical malfunction. (Read more)

3. Revealed: Dozens of Judea and Samaria communities to get official recognition - Israel Hayom
Otzma Yehudit leader and the next national security minister, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, plans to launch a new effort that could culminate with a boost to grant retroactive approval to unauthorized settlements in Judea and Samaria, Israel Hayom has learned.
According to the plan, under his new portfolio, Ben-Gvir plans to advance measures to expropriate land for developing infrastructure, as well as to allot hundreds of thousands of shekels to various unrecognized communities that have so far lacked official status The plan depends in part on having the necessary sign-off from the various other agencies outside his ministry. It also includes a boost to the staff in the Civil Administration, which administers civilian matters in Judea and Samaria on behalf of the Defense Ministry, to make the implementation go faster.
The plan is a direct consequence of the newly announced agreement between Likud and Otzma Yehudit that guarantees the latter's support in the upcoming confidence vote to swear in Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister for the sixth time. The decision to grant the party overall responsibility for the approval process of unauthorized settlements has led to a backlash on the Right, with some accusing Netanyahu of handing over this prerogative to Ben-Gvir despite him lacking the required experience, in an apparent effort to avoid any meaningful progress on this hotly contested issue. 4. Ben Gvir to tap top aide with long history of extremism as chief of staff — report - Times of Israel
Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben Gvir, set to be appointed to the newly created role of national security minister in the upcoming government, is reportedly expected to tap as his chief of staff an aide with a history of far-right settler activism that saw him be slapped with restraining orders and led the Shin Bet security service to describe him in the past as a danger to society.
Chanamel Dorfman, who has been referred to by Ben Gvir as his “righthand man,” has also in past called the Israel Police — over which Ben Gvir will preside in his new role — “antisemitic,” “rotten” and “a mafia.”
Ben Gvir, who leads the far-right Otzma Yehudit party, inked a deal Friday to join a government under presumed incoming prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party, becoming head of the brand new National Security Ministry, a planned portfolio that will include overseeing the police and Israeli settlers in the West Bank. 5. Iran reveals ‘ideal targets’ to bomb in Israel - World Israel News
The Knesset, the Prime Minister’s office, and Ben Gurion Airport were all revealed to be on an Iranian hit list as sites to target in a future war, according to reports by the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese news outlet Al-Mayadeen and Iran’s state-controlled Tasnim news agency.
A Jerusalem Post report on Monday summarized the list of “sensitive sites” that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an internationally designated terror group, believes would be ideal targets for bombing by the Islamic regime.
The Post report noted that the publication list is unusual, as it appears to be one of the only times that Iran has directly threatened specific sites within the Jewish State and may signal that Iran’s regional proxies may be preparing to ramp up their activity against Israel. (Read more)

1. Adam Schiff: Jan. 6 committee will 'scrub' evidence before final report - Washington Examiner
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said that the Jan. 6 committee will have to "scrub" some evidence from its final report before Republicans take over the House next year.
In an appearance on CNN's State of the Union, Schiff discussed the activities of the House Jan. 6 committee, on which he sits. CNN host Dana Bash reminded Schiff that Ohio Republican Jim Jordan will be made head of the Judiciary Committee in a few months and has promised to go through all the evidence left out of the final report. Asking if all evidence will be made public, Schiff insisted there will be transparency — to a point.
"The evidence will all be made public," Schiff said. "Now, we will have to make sure that we scrub that evidence for personally identifiable information, that the evidence that we provide protects people's security, it doesn't put them at risk. So, there are things that we're going to have to do along those lines." (Read more)

He said any personally identifiable information must be scrubbed so that the evidence will protect people's security. Lord the Jan 6 Committee has been biased against President Trump and all those involved who are conservatives. We ask for your hand to bring transparency into what is released. We ask that the real truth of what happened on January 6th be included in the report and for truth to expose the darkness in these circumstances.

2. WSJ Goes After Trump Over White Nationalist’s Appearance At Mar-A-Lago - The Dally Caller
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) editorial board lashed out at former President Donald Trump for having “bad judgment” after white nationalist Nick Fuentes showed up to Mar-a-Lago for dinner.
Rapper Kanye West, known formally as Ye, allegedly unknowingly brought white supremacist Nick Fuentes to a dinner at Mar-a-Lago Tuesday with Trump. Trump claims he didn’t know who Fuentes was and alleged Ye brought him without warning.
“Trump’s presidential campaign is barely two weeks old, and already it has his trademarks of bad company and bad judgment,” the WSJ editorial board wrote. “The former President says he didn’t know who Mr. Fuentes is, but both Mr. West and Mr. Fuentes have said since the meeting that Mr. Trump was impressed with Mr. Fuentes’s political insight. That may be because sources on hand for the dinner have leaked to reporters that Mr. Fuentes flattered Mr. Trump.” (Read more)

The President has already responded by saying he did not know who Mr. Fuentes was nor was he expecting him to be at the dinner. The WSJ continued their accusations about things said and done without any proof other than "sources" said it happened. Father, we are asking you to restore integrity to our news media, that hype will be replaced with verifiable information and that honesty and truthfulness will once again be the foundation of all news sources. 4. Fauci: Americans Shouldn’t Feel We Are Completely ‘Done’ with COVID - Brietbart

Abba so much of what Dr. Fauci says is based in fear of sickness. That is not what your word speaks to us. He is always calling for everyone to get boosters even though they have been shown to lose effectiveness in very short segments of time. Dr Fouci does not address all the harmful side effects that are now coming to light. Father, first I want to thank you that Dr Fauci is retiring. We ask that you replace him with a person after your own heart, someone who knows you and loves your word.

5. Rev. Franklin Graham: Same-Sex Marriage Bill ‘Fails to Protect Those’ with Traditional Marriage Views - Brietbart
Rev. Franklin Graham said Saturday that the same-sex marriage bill called the “Respect for Marriage Act” (RFMA) “fails to protect those of us who believe marriage is between a man and a woman” and expressed his support for an amendment proposed by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT).
“The Respect for Marriage Act is coming before the Senate again on Monday. Why should that matter to you? Because it could impact you, your family, your church, and our nation,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday.

6. Warnock Steered $16 Million to Project That Benefited Co-Owner of Church’s Controversial Apartment Complex - Free Beacon
Georgia Democratic senator Raphael Warnock steered $16.4 million in federal earmarks to a project that benefited the co-owner of his controversial low-income apartment complex.
The funding was intended to construct a trail connecting a residential and commercial complex known as "Pittsburgh Yards" with other portions of Atlanta's BeltLine. The developer of Pittsburgh Yards is Columbia Ventures, part of the Columbia group of companies that co-owns and operates a low-income housing complex with Warnock's church.
The funding raises questions about whether Warnock's business relationship with Columbia had any bearing on his funding decision. Warnock did not respond to a request for comment.
Warnock's Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he serves as senior pastor and CEO, in 2005 "formed a partnership with Columbia Residential to rehabilitate [a] dilapidated high-rise" and turned the building into low-income apartments. Ebenezer and Columbia are co-owners of the business through a joint venture, with Ebenezer owning 99 percent and Columbia owning the remaining 1 percent, according to a state grant application filed by the entities in August. Decisions that your son, Rev Warnock, made as a senator in reference to funded money given to a company that is his partner in other business dealings, has drawn attention to the appropriateness of that decision. 7. Maricopa County releases data on Election Day issues - The Hill
Arizona’s Maricopa County on Sunday released new data about malfunctions at some of its vote centers on Election Day, pushing back on claims that voters were disenfranchised because of the issues.
Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, who lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs, and others in the GOP have seized on printer malfunctions in the county on Election Day, claiming the problems substantially altered results — despite Maricopa election officials’ insistence that no one was prevented from voting.
In a response to a letter from the Arizona attorney general’s office demanding further information on the issue, county officials on Sunday provided the most detailed data to date, showing that thousands of affected voters still cast ballots that were tabulated.
“Our response is available for the public to read in its entirety and details how Maricopa County followed state and federal laws to ensure every voter was provided the opportunity to cast a ballot,” Board of Supervisors Chair Bill Gates (R) said in a statement.
Gates vowed to certify Maricopa’s vote canvass by Monday’s statutory deadline, defying the Lake campaign, who has publicly called for a delay and suggested in court the issues meet the legal threshold for doing so. (Read more)

8. EU officials slam Biden administration for ‘profiting’ off Ukraine war - The New York Post
A collection of high-ranking European officials are fed up with the Biden administration for what they view as war profiteering during the conflict in Ukraine.
The comments come amid rising gas prices and mounting tension toward US legislation that offers tax credits to those who “Buy American.”
Meanwhile, Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is pushing European economies toward recession while the US is benefitting, some officials claim.
“The fact is, if you look at it soberly, the country that is most profiting from this war is the US because they are selling more gas and at higher prices, and because they are selling more weapons,” one senior EU official told POLITICO.
“The United States sells us its gas with a multiplier effect of four when it crosses the Atlantic,” Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, said on French TV on Wednesday. “Of course the Americans are our allies … but when something goes wrong it is necessary also between allies to say it.” The Biden administration has adamantly denied price-hiking accusations and instead blamed the high costs on the Ukrainian conflict. Abba, our European Union allies are accusing President Biden of charging them too high a price for the gas we sell them. They also believe that the US is profiting from the war in Ukraine. It is very concerning when our friends begin to bring accusations against us. Father it is confusing that President Biden is selling US gasoline to our allies when our own gas prices are so very high and we are buying it from other countries. We are asking you to intervene in the decisions being made by our highest level government officials. We ask for all things being decided in darkness and behind closed doors be brought into the light so that the American people will know what our president is and isn't doing. We are asking for transparency at the highest levels of our government. Lord, only you can do this, so we are asking you to do what only you can do.

9. Balenciaga under fire over ‘creepy’ ads of kids with ‘bondage outfits’ - The New York Post
Balenciaga is under fire online after showing two young girls holding stuffed animals dressed in what appears to be bondage gear in an advertisement. The fashion house — which has been associated with the likes of Kim Kardashian and previously made headlines for its daring fashion choices — featured the mini models in Balenciaga apparel, holding plush toys that contrasted with the horrifying bondage get-ups.
In one image, a ginger-haired little girl sported a T-shirt from the brand while holding the strap connected to a white bear, which was in a vest with a padlocked choker around its neck.
“The brand ‘Balenciaga’ just did a uh….. interesting… photoshoot for their new products recently which included a very purposely poorly hidden court document about ‘virtual child porn’ normal stuff,” an eagle-eyed social media watchdog alleged. (Read more)

With the "Virtual Child Porn" document "not" being hidden, there isn't much left to the imagination concerning the statement Balenciaga is making. This company is broadcasting that children being molested is something to be advertised. Father God, we are asking for a spiritual explosion that will open the eyes and ears of those who continue to believe that our children are not being exploited. We are asking that so much truth be brought to light that it cannot be denied any longer. We are asking you to rescue all of the little ones who are enslaved, break the hold of the enemy over our children. We ask this in Jesus mighty name....AMEN

10. Air marshals sound alarm about being sent to border - Fox News
The executive director of the Air Marshal National Council delivered a clear message to the Biden administration Monday, warning that air travel is becoming less safe as marshals are diverted to the border.
Sonia Labosco joined "Fox & Friends First" to call on the Biden administration to stop sending air marshals to the southern border and return them to their duties patrolling commercial flights.
"We have been decimated. We have been depleted. We're on less than 1% of flights. These ground-based duties that they're pulling us out of the sky to go to the border are just demolishing our chances at stopping another 9/11."
Labosco said Americans will suffer because many believe they're safe in the presence of a trained air marshal, but "they're just simply not." (Read more)

Through the entire COVID episode of unconstitutional lockdowns and mandates, quarantining of healthy people, coercing the public through fear and leveraging an unholy alliance of business, media and government to take an experimental shot that didn’t work as advertised and is known now to have many side effects, The Daily Jot was not censored. Mauna Loa eruption prompts warnings for Hawaii’s Big Island
|

After 38 years of silence, the world’s largest volcano, Mauna Loa, began erupting late Sunday night. Residents are being told to review preparedness plans as the USGS keeps a close eye on the volcano.
On Sunday night, an eruption began in the summit caldera of Hawaii's Mauna Loa, the world's largest active volcano, according to the U.S. Geological Service's (USGS) volcanic activity service.
"The eruption is currently confined to the summit, and there is no indication that magma is moving into either rift zone at this time," USGS wrote in a notification.
As the early eruption stages of this volcano can be very dynamic and the location and advance of lava flows can change rapidly, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) is closely monitoring it, USGS warned.

Go Woke, Go Broke: Disney Fires CEO After Dismal Stock Performance

After less than a year into his retirement, Bob Iger is back as CEO of Disney. His original successor, Bob Chapek, has left the company. This shocking announcement was made late Sunday night as Disney stock is down 38% for the year. Under Chapek's command, Disney has had several blockbuster bust's that led to his announcing cuts across the company, and his eventual ousting. With controversy surrounding movies like "Lightyear," a separate storyline from the Toy Story franchise that famously recast Tim Allen's iconic voice for Chris Evans, which featured a lesbian relationship and kiss. Many speculated that the reason for recasting Allen was his outspoken conservative views.
Disney also went head-to-head with the state of Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis over the Parental Rights in Education Act, falsely dubbed by critics as the "Don't Say Gay" bill. "We were opposed to the bill from the outset, but we chose to not take a public position on it because we thought we could be more effective working behind the scenes, engaging directly with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle," Chapek said at a stockholder meeting after receiving criticism from the left.
In April of 2022, Florida passed a law that will dissolve Disney's Reedy Creek governing district by June of 2023. The new restrictions this would place on Disney, and the control that the state of Florida now had over their construction of new structures, played a large role in how Chapek's competency as CEO was viewed.
