Dems Keep Control Of Senate — Incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto Defeats Republican Adam Laxalt In Nevada
|
|
Democrat incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto defeated Republican Nevada Senate candidate Adam Laxalt in a close election, giving the Democrats control of the upper chamber.
A number of outlets, including NBC and Fox called the race with 97% of the votes counted. Laxalt had 48.2% of the vote to Cortez Masto’s 48.7%. Laxalt, the former Nevada Attorney General, and Cortez Masto were neck and neck in the polls leading up to the election.
Masto, a former lawyer, was elected in 2017. She previously served as the Nevada attorney general from 2007 to 2015.
CBS News said Cortez Masto was the “most vulnerable Democratic senator fighting for reelection.” (Daily Caller) Read more here.

- Lord God, there seem to be many surprises now that this midterm election has almost come to an end. We ask that Your Hand would weigh heavily upon everyone who will serve our nation in the House and in the Senate next year, and that, if there remain any discrepancies in this count, that they would come to light and be rectified. We ask this in Your Name, Holy One, amen and amen!

3 More Tight House Races Called for Democrats, Narrowing GOP Path to Majority
|
|
Three competitive races for the House of Representatives were all called for Democrats late Nov. 12, narrowing the GOP path to a majority.
Reps. Julia Brownley (D-Calif.) and Norma Torres (D-Calif.) were projected by the Associated Press to win their respective races, as was Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.
California Assemblyman Kevin Mullin was also declared the winner of a race that pitted him against a fellow Democrat.
Those four calls take the Democrat-held seats up to 203—Republicans have 211—and lower the number of pickup opportunities left. A party needs 218 seats or more to gain a majority in the House.
The GOP expected to flip both the House and the Senate in the midterms but the Democrats will hold onto the upper chamber, according to the latest projections. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

UN votes to take Israeli 'occupation' of Palestine to Hague international court
|
|
Israel, the United States, Canada and Australia were among those nations who opposed the move.
|
|
The UN General Assembly voted 98-17 to seek an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the illegality of Israel’s “occupation” of Palestinian territories on the grounds that it can be considered de-facto annexation.
The resolution specifically asked the ICJ for an opinion on the status of Jerusalem, which is one of the most volatile and contentious points of discord between Israelis and Palestinians.
The broad-range resolution also ignored Jewish ties to its holiest site, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, referring to it solely by its Muslim name of al-Haram al-Sharif (the Noble Sanctuary).
Israel, the US, Canada and Australia were among the nations who opposed the ICJ referral when the UN General Assembly Fourth Committee held its preliminary vote on Friday in New York. In recent weeks, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken asked Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas not to put the resolution to a vote and lobbied like-minded countries to oppose it.
The issue must get final approval from the full UNGA before going to The Hague. (Read more)

- Abba, we stand against this UN Resolution to take Israel to the Hague International Court. This is a weaponized legal move against Israel in an attempt to take away her sovereignty over Biblical Judea/Samaria (the West Bank) and Jerusalem. We stand with the Jewish people in saying the Jerusalem is the ETERNAL and INDIVISIBLE capitol over Israel! We pray that this Resolution would NOT get approval from the UNGA and it would be stopped dead in the waters! In Yeshua's name, amen and amen!

1. Israelis in Istanbul advised to remain at hotels after deadly bombing - Times of Israel
Israeli tourists in Istanbul were advised Sunday to remain in their hotel rooms and not explore the Turkish city, following a bombing on a popular pedestrian street that left six dead and dozens wounded.
An unnamed security source quoted by Hebrew media recommended that Israelis stay in their hotels until the situation became clearer, and to listen to local security.
The source also called on Israelis to avoid travel to Turkey for non-essential reasons.
There was no indication that the explosion, which Turkish leaders have said appears to be a terror attack, targeted Israelis. (Read more)

2. Israeli air force attacks Hezbollah and Iranian forces in Syria - Israel National News
Syrian state-controlled media claimed Sunday evening that Israeli forces carried out an airstrike on targets on the outskirts of the city of Homs, in northwest Syria.
State television reported that the country’s air defense network was activated, and that a number of missiles were intercepted near the Al-Shoairat air base.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), an anti-regime monitor group based in London, confirmed the report, saying that Israeli warplanes fired four missiles at targets in the Al-Shoairat air base. (Read more)

3. WATCH: Netanyahu receives mandate to form government - Israel Hayom
Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu was tasked Sunday by President Isaac Herzog with forming Israel's next governing coalition.
"I intend to be a prime minister for everyone – for those who elected me, and for those who did not elect me. It reflects what I believe in and what guides my actions," Netanyahu said at the event after receiving the official mandate from Herzog. "There are many, many who welcome the election results – but there are also those who make outrageous prophecies and frighten the public. This is not the first time such things have been said. They said it about [first Likud leader Menachem] Begin, they said it about me too; it wasn't true then and it's not true now."
Herzog on Friday completed three days of consultations with representatives of all political parties that entered the 25th Knesset. (Read more)

1. Mississippi was the target of a sustained cyber attack on election day - wlbt.com
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Hackers made Mississippi one of their election-day targets. But officials say it didn’t impact votes.
Still, it kept many of you from accessing polling place information on one of the state websites.
You’d expect the Secretary of State’s website to be a popular online destination on election day. But Tuesday afternoon, Secretary Michael Watson was notified that it was far from normal.
“We started seeing a spike in traffic hitting our website, and basically what it’s called a DDoS attack,” said Watson. “It basically takes your website down, and we saw integrated servers back and forth, we would get back up, then they would check again and push it back down.”
“We saw this attack happen or a form of it happened a couple of weeks back, which was a great thing because we were prepared doubly so this time,” explained Watson. “That was some out-of-country traffic. This time, what we’re being told is the traffic was spoofed, which means they cover their tracks basically. We did see some information out there a pro-Russia group claims credit for doing so I want to make sure that we get all the facts before we say anything...who did what. But again, it’s important to have trusted information and we want to make sure you get the facts before we say anything else.” (Read more)

2. Blue State Voters Re-Elected Officials Who Locked Schools Down, Forced Kids To Mask Up - The Daily Callerxit Polls Reveal Which Key Group Propelled Democrats During 2022 Midterms
Blue state voters earned Democratic leaders who kept schools closed and children masked during the pandemic major wins in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
School lockdowns from the COVID-19 pandemic caused the nation’s academic achievement to suffer historic declines. Despite the consequences of remote learning, Democratic governors in states such as New York, Michigan and California that kept schools closed, won their elections on Nov. 8.
“While it’s unfortunate that many of those responsible for keeping schools closed were kept in office in states like New York and Michigan, there is no doubt that parents across the country are waking up to the fact that the emotional, academic and physical well-being of kids were not top of mind for many in positions of power and influence,” Nicole Neily, president of Parents Defending Education, a parental rights in education group, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. 3. Biden’s Border Chief Resigns After Pressure From Administration, Republicans - Daily Caller
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) commissioner Chris Magnus resigned from his position Saturday, according to a White House press release.
Magnus, who was appointed to the role in December 2021, submitted his resignation to Biden on Saturday, which was immediately accepted. The former border official had reportedly been asked to resign by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, else he be fired from his position
Magnus, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Friday night, had said that he would not resign as requested by Mayorkas. “I expressed to him that I felt there was no justification for me to resign when I still cared deeply about the work I was doing,” he told the Times.
However, less than a day later, Magnus reversed course. In his resignation letter, Magnus wrote that “I am submitting my resignation effective immediately but wish you and your administration the very best going forward.”
The move comes following a Politico report which characterized Magnus as detached from the agency’s mission, with allegations he feel asleep during meeting. (Read more)

4. EXCLUSIVE: CIA Director’s Former Think Tank Hired Experts From Nonprofits Controlled By Chinese Spy Agencies - Daily Caller
SUMMARY:

· Carnegie employed the majority of the experts in question while current CIA Director William Burns served as the think tank’s president, the DCNF found.
· “The director must explain why he allowed our top adversary to infiltrate his organization, the extent of his interactions with potential Chinese spies, and most importantly, why he lied to the American people during his confirmation hearing,” Texas Republican Rep. Lance Gooden told the DCNF. (Read more here)

5. Secret Service Broke Chain Of Command After 9/11 Without Bush And Cheney Knowing, New Declassified Docs Reveal - Daily Caller
The Secret Service acted outside the military chain of command to scramble jets on 9/11 without the knowledge of the president, a newly declassified interview reveals.
The Interagency Security Classification Appeals Panel on Wednesday released notes from an interview conducted by the 9/11 Commission with former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney, revealing new details about how the White House reacted in the immediate aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks. During the interview, conducted in April 2004, Bush said he didn’t know that the Secret Service had scrambled fighter jets without his permission.
Former New Jersey Gov. Thomas Kean, who chaired the commission, asked Bush and Cheney if they knew the Secret Service scrambled jets from Andrews Air Force Base after the attacks had occurred without going through the established military chain of command.
“The president, surprised, asked the chairman to repeat ‘ordered by the Secret Service?’,” the transcript reads. “The chairman affirmed that. The president said he did not know about that.”
The interview notes were released after the Public Interest Declassification Board wrote to President Joe Biden last year recommending a list of 9/11 Commission documents that should be made available to the public. Among the other requested documents were interviews with former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. (Read more)

7. President Herzog to hand Netanyahu mandate to form government on Sunday - Times of Israel

Following the meetings, Netanyahu was invited to the President’s Residence on Sunday where he will officially receive the mandate. From then he will have 28 days to form a government. The president also has the discretion to give Netanyahu a 14-day extension should he request it. (Read more)

8. Israeli F-35 jets escort US B-52 bombers in show of force to Iran - Times of Israel
Israeli F-35i fighter jets escort two American B-52 bombers through Israeli airspace on their way back from the Persian Gulf, in an apparent show of force to Iran amid tensions in the region.
“The flight took place as part of the increasing cooperation with the US military, which is a significant component of the national security of the State of Israel, maintaining regional stability and thwarting regional threats,” the Israel Defense Forces says in a statement.
In a video published by the IDF, an Israeli pilot can be heard saying over the radio to the American pilots: “This is the Israeli Air Force. Welcome to Israel, we hope you have a safe flight.” (Read more)

10. US observed Russian navy preparing for possible test of nuclear-powered torpedo - CNN
The US observed Russian naval vessels preparing for a possible test of a new nuclear-powered torpedo in recent weeks, a senior US official with direct knowledge told CNN.
Among the vessels which took part in the preparations was the Belgorod, a cruise missile submarine modified for special operations that is able to launch unmanned underwater vehicles including the Poseidon torpedo.
In the last week, the vessels were observed leaving the testing area in the Arctic Sea and heading back to port without carrying out a test. The US believes the Russians may have encountered technical difficulties.
“This can be seen as part of the bigger picture and Russia’s recent military practice, sending ill-trained and under-equipped troops to Ukraine,” a Western diplomat told CNN. “Russia’s military industry is going through difficult times, and we can also see that Western sanctions on high-tech military goods are having an effect and must continue.”
US officials said Russia could attempt to test the torpedo again but note the waters in the testing area will soon begin to ice over, limiting the window for operations. (Read more)

Nicole leaves 'unprecedented' damage in its wake
|
|
Nicole's storm surge carved into the Florida coast Thursday, compromising the foundation of several beachfront homes. While residents hope to save them, many may be condemned -- if they don't fall into the sea.
For now, Kate Rose's home still stands in Wilbur-By-The-Sea following Hurricane Nicole's devastation along the Florida coast. The walls still hold strong, the windows unbroken at first glance. An autumn wreath of leaves and miniature gourds still decorates her front door as hurricane season gives way to fall.
But after the rare November hurricane carved away portions of the beach -- and portions of Rose's backyard patio, bringing the oceanfront to her back doorstep -- the future of her home is uncertain.
Homes at Wilbur-By-The-Sea sit in a precarious situation after back-to-back hurricanes eroded the shoreline, the storm surge from Hurricane Nicole dealing the final blow to multiple waterfront properties. Like Rose's home, while they may appear to have narrowly scraped by with little to no damage from Nicole, crews are still assessing how many have sustained condemning foundational damage. Read More

Mom homeschools son after public school brands him 'handicapped,' now she runs her own school
|
|
A mother whose son was deemed “mentally handicapped” for not thriving under a rigid public school curriculum took matters into her own hands. She decided to homeschool him, and after finding a method that helped her son become his best self, she opened her own school to help others. Ohio-born Barbara Rivera, 58, has lived in Miami for the past 40 years. She has three sons and one daughter, whom she raised alone: Damon, now 37, Morgan, 35, Adam, 32, and Michael, 31. She unofficially adopted a fifth child, Thor, when a friend received a devastating medical diagnosis and requested Barbara to take her son in.
“However, just two weeks into the school year, his teacher told me, ‘Damon is mentally handicapped, cannot read, and will require medication to learn,'” Barbara told The Epoch Times. “I was told that he confused the letters ‘b, d, p, and q’ and the numbers ‘6 and 9.’
“I was told this confusion of letters and numbers was a sign of a learning/mental disability. I disagreed. I argued that the said numbers and letters look similar and my son was only on his second week of school. The ‘diagnosis’ seemed unfair and illogical,” she added.
But Barbara had faith in her son’s ability, believing that with practice, he would eventually get it, and thus was not concerned. However, his teacher pressed for a medical evaluation. “I let her know that if anyone so much as spoke to my son without my consent, I’d sue,” said Barbara. “I was not having Damon evaluated, ever! I was not putting Damon on mind-altering medication, ever!” Damon, according to his mother, was honest, well-behaved, and one of the calmest children she had ever known. He wanted to grow up to be a policeman and play basketball for the NBA, which Barbara supported wholeheartedly. (The Epoch Times) Read More

- Father, we praise You for this amazing story of a mother who simply advocated for her child in a flawed school system and through it, created an alternate education for others in need. We praise You for making a way even now for parents who are tired of woke agendas confusing our children in our educational system. We pray that many schools like this one will open up throughout our nation to support safe learning for children. In Jesus powerful name, Amen

Crown Him with Many Crowns
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Matthew Bridges
Music: George Elvey
Scripture: His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. Revelation 19:12
Lyrics:
Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
All music but its own!
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee;
And hail Him as thy matchless king
Through all eternity!
Crown Him the Lord of life,
Who triumphed o’er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save.
His glories now we sing,
Who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.
Crown Him the Lord of Heav’n,
Enthroned in worlds above,
Crown Him the king to whom is giv’n
The wondrous name of Love.
Crown Him with many crowns,
As thrones before Him fall;
Crown Him, ye kings, with many crowns,
For He is king of all.
