Hamas delegation has made ‘noticeable progress’ on ceasefire talks in Egypt: Report
The Hamas delegation in Egypt has made “noticeable progress” in ceasefire talks, after months of deadlock, according to Egyptian media.
The Egyptian state Al-Qahera news announced on Saturday that Hamas and Israel had reached a consensus on many of the disputed points, though it didn’t elaborate on what those were. Other sources dispute this, including some Israeli officials. One Israeli official told the Associated Press that even a deal to release the roughly 100 hostages still held by Hamas wouldn’t prevent Israel’s invasion of Rafah, nor end the war.
According to Egyptian and Hamas officials speaking with the outlet, current talks in Cairo aim to de-escalate the war in phases. The first phase would be a 40-day ceasefire, staving off the Rafah operation, in exchange for female hostages. The next phase would see Israel withdraw from a coastal road, allowing Gazans to return to their homes in the north, and for humanitarian aid to flow more freely. In the third week, talks would begin regarding a formal end to the war, while Israeli troops would withdraw from Central Gaza.
The talks aim to bring about a ceasefire based on less contentious issues, holding off the more polarizing questions for a later date. The status of Hamas post-war, who will control the Gaza Strip, and a potential Israeli military occupation are some of the long-term questions that will be discussed in later talks.
One Israeli official, speaking with AFP, said that if a positive development is seen in the talks, Israel will send a delegation to Cairo for further negotiations. (Washington Examiner)

He will remove godlessness from Jacob.”

California tuberculosis outbreak kills 1, infects 14
as officials declare health emergency
A deadly outbreak of tuberculosis (TB) has occurred inside a California hotel housing homeless people, leading to the death of one person and forcing city health officials to declare a public health emergency.
The alarming outbreak at the unnamed hotel infected 14 people, resulting in nine people being hospitalized, the Department of Health and Human Services for Long Beach announced Thursday. The identity of the deceased individual has not been released.
"The outbreak is currently isolated to a distinct population and the risk to the general public is low," city officials announced.
"The population at risk in this outbreak has significant barriers to care including homelessness and housing insecurity, mental illness, substance use and serious medical comorbidities."
Officials say the health emergency was announced to strengthen the city’s preparedness and ability to respond to the outbreak.
Around 170 people have likely been exposed to TB and the Health Department is in the process of screening contacts for TB via symptom review, blood or skin tests and chest X-rays. (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father we pray for healing of this infectious disease, in Jesus name.  We know that there has been a time when tuberculosis ran across the U.S. until it was brought under control and we pray for the same thing once again.  We know that the people illegally crossing our border are not evaluated for health security or a lack of contagious diseases, so we turn to You for protection and wisdom to deal with this situation.  We bind and rebuke all opportunity for TB to run loose in the U.S., in Jesus' name.

- "'Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.'"  (Jeremiah 33:5)

White House halts arms transfers to Israel

A First: US halts planned arms shipment to Israel, raising concerns in Israel.

By David Rosenberg, World Israel News

The Biden administration has frozen a planned arms shipment to Israel, according to a report Sunday, raising concerns among Israeli leaders of a major shift in American policy vis-a-vis the Jewish state.

Two Israeli officials told Axios and Walla that the Biden White House last week froze a weapons shipment to Israel, which includes ammunition and other American-made arms.

If confirmed, this marks the first time the U.S. has suspended arms shipments to Israel since Hamas’ October 7th invasion of the Jewish state.

According to the report, the White House, Pentagon, and State Department all declined to comment, as did the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.

The report comes as Israel reiterates its plans to enter Rafah, the last Hamas stronghold in the Gaza Strip, despite staunch opposition from the Biden White House, which claims Israel does not yet have an actionable plan to protect Gaza civilians.

Over one million Gazans now reside in and around Rafah, more than four times the city’s pre-war population.

Last week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.

During his visit, Blinken conveyed to Israeli leaders the White House’s continued opposition to the planned Rafah operation as it is currently drafted, including a conversation with Netanyahu which two sources described as “tough.”

Blinken warned Netanyahu that a “major military operation” in Rafah would jeopardize Israel’s relations with the U.S. (World Israel News) Read more here.

- Father, we repent for the actions of this government in seeking to control or limit Israel as they prosecute the war against Hamas terrorists.  We pray for Israel to have sufficient resources to stand firm and strong in this mission and Holy One, we pray for Your hand of covering and divine victory from Your throne and unto earth the same, in Jesus name.  May every effort to hinder or obstruct the work of Israel fall to the ground and have no power nor effect, in Jesus name.

- "But Israel shall be saved by the Lord With an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever."  (Isaiah 45:17)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. A somber Israel marks Holocaust Remembrance Day -JNS
Israelis marked Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) on Monday, the first since the attack of Oct. 7, the largest single-day massacre of Jews since the Shoah.

The ceremonies began Sunday night and continued on Monday morning with the traditional nationwide siren blast, starting at 10 a.m. and lasting for two minutes. Israelis customarily stand still, including cars stopping on the road, to honor the memory of the 6 million Jews slain by the Nazis and their helpers.

The siren was activated by Holocaust survivor Malkah Herman, 92, and her grandson Maor, an officer in the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command, the military announced. (Read more)

2. IDF begins evacuating civilians from eastern Rafah northward - Jerusalem Post

The IDF has begun evacuating civilians from eastern Rafah to a new expanded humanitarian zone which includes al-Mawasi and parts of Khan Yunis and central Gaza, the IDF announced on Monday morning. The evacuation comes ahead of planned IDF operations in the Rafah area.

The new humanitarian zone includes field hospitals, tents, and increased provisions of food, water, medicine, and other supplies.

Additionally, the IDF is working in cooperation with international organizations and several countries to allow an increase of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

The IDF, in accordance with a decision made by the political echelon, is calling on the population currently under Hamas control to evacuate temporarily from the eastern neighborhoods of Rafah to the new zone. The evacuation will be conducted in a phased manner in accordance with continuing situation assessments. (Read more)

3. Hamas says it accepts ceasefire proposal, does not specify terms - Times of Israel

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh tells Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel that the terror group accepts their terms for a ceasefire with Israel, according to an official announcement from Hamas.

The announcement does not specify what those terms are.

A senior Hamas official tells Al Jazeera the same.

Israel has repeatedly said it will not accept a deal, as repeatedly demanded by Hamas, that conditions the release of hostages on the end of the war. On Saturday, furthermore, an official source, widely believed to be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that Israel had not empowered the mediators to issue guarantees of an end to the war, either. 4. Officials: Hamas appears to have okayed ceasefire terms that Israel did not approve - Times of Israel

Israeli officials are cautioning against taking at face value Hamas’s announcement that it accepts a ceasefire deal.

Officials tell networks Kan, 12, and 13 that the terms Hamas accepted are not those that Israel agreed to.

According to the officials quoted by the networks, the offer Hamas has accepted is one made unilaterally by Egypt and is not being taken seriously in Jerusalem before the details are clarified. (Read more)

5. Escalating tensions as Hezbollah claims to target Golan Heights amid Iran's proxy offensive - Jerusalem Post

The Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah claimed to attack Israel with “dozens” of katyusha rockets on Monday. The rockets targeted the IDF’s “Golan Division headquarters,” Hezbollah told Beirut-based Al Mayadeen news channel. Air-raid sirens were heard in several locations in the central Golan Heights.

“The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah announced that it had targeted, on Monday morning , the headquarters of the Golan Division (210th) at the Nafah base with dozens of ‘Katyusha’ rockets,” Al Mayadeen reported. The attack was part of a series of Hezbollah escalations over the past days. On Sunday, it also attacked Kiryat Shmona with 20 rockets and fired about 40 more projectiles toward the North.

Hezbollah always claims its attacks are in “response” to Israeli actions. In this case, it blamed Israel for an “attack that targeted the Bekaa region.” (Read more)

1. The newest DEI push at the Coast Guard Academy - WND

DEI is a bad idea. It is divisive, racist, and anti-meritocratic. Coleman HughesAyaan Hirsi Ali , Elon Musk, and a host of other first-rate minds have vigorously come out against it.  Yet, our Coast Guard leadership continues to promote it without discussion or debate. For an objective observer, that should be the first clue that something is very, very wrong.

Supporters of this ideology are fond of the term ‘cultural competence,’ which they seem to believe is obtainable in a seminar or a classroom, but there are other paths to knowledge. For example, I enjoyed twenty-eight years in federal law enforcement, which, among other things, afforded me familiarity with the inside of a crack-house. Here are are some things I learned first-hand:

(1) Underclass black America is indeed suffering unacceptable levels of violence and generational poverty;

(2) Malcolm X was absolutely correct when he identified white liberals as an impediment to the progress of black America;

(3) the most pernicious condition afflicting underclass black America, yielding drug use, poverty and crime, is the lack of fathers in the home; and

(4) the dominance of the progressive/postmodern agenda, of which DEI is a cornerstone, is almost solely to blame for the pitiful state of our urban poor. (Read more)

- We pray the Coast guard would listen to reason regarding the DEI. Open their ears to hear the debate against it and may they see the damage it causes.

- "Open your ears, and hear the words of wise people, and set your mind on the knowledge I give you." (Proverbs 22:17)

2. World Health Organization demanding $31 billion to repeat COVID mistakes - WND

Those pushing 'treaty' are 'ignoring and institutionalizing' blunders

The World Health Organization is urging the U.S. and 193 other governments to commit next month to a new global treaty to prevent and manage future pandemics. Current estimates suggest over $31 billion per year will be needed to fund its obligations, a cost most lower income countries cannot afford. But that isn’t the only reason to oppose it. Validating this treaty is a vote for the disastrous policies of the Covid years. Rather than taking time for deep reflection and serious reform, those pushing the pandemic treaty are set on ignoring and institutionalizing the WHO’s mistakes.

From the Spring of 2020, many experts warned that the panic begun in Wuhan’s unprecedented lockdown would cause wide-ranging damage—and indeed they did. School closures deprived a generation of children—especially poor children—of access to basic education. Businesses were shuttered. Vaccine and mask mandates made public health an authoritarian exercise of power devoid of science. Border quarantines promulgated the idea that the rest of the world is unclean.

But few experts care to seriously dissect these errors. How many schools of public health—in America or Europe—held serious debates during the Covid response, or since? Very few.

Opposing the treaty is a signal to the WHO and global health community that they cannot whitewash these mistakes. Next time, we need to ensure a better balance between trade-offs, evidence-based policies, and democratic rights. Such a view seeks to restore the WHO’s own definition of health into pandemic response: “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.(Read more)

- We pray an overwhelming amount of countries will oppose this treaty by the WHO! May the WHO be forced to examine their policies and admit of their wrongdoing and change course.

- "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." (Prov. 11:2)

3. Bragg trial wraps up 2nd week of testimony without providing clear evidence Trump committed crimes - WND

NEW YORK—The second week of witness testimony in former President Donald Trump’s trial concluded Friday without clear evidence of the crimes he allegedly committed.

The jury has heard mentions of salacious stories about celebrities, been introduced to the world of tabloid magazines and peaked into the inner-workings of Trump’s campaign, but witness testimony has not yet established key portions of prosecutors’ claims. Prosecutors are seeking to prove Trump falsified business records relating to Michael Cohen’s $130,000 payment made to keep Stormy Daniels quiet about claims of a “sexual encounter” ahead of the 2016 election, as alleged in the indictment, and that he did so in service of a broader “conspiracy” to influence the 2016 election, as they clarified during opening statements.

Former White House communications director Hope Hicks, one of the prosecution’s witnesses called on Friday, gave testimony that benefited the defense by undermining the contention that efforts to suppress the stories were primarily related to the campaign. (Read more)

- We pray protection and favor over Trump, and that Justice will reign in all charges against him. Hold him accountable if he has done wrong, but provide deliverance in false accusations.

- "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." (Psalm 32:7)

4. Title IX Rule Change on Gender Triggers Lawsuits From 15 States - The Epoch Times

Republican-led states are suing the Biden administration and advising schools to ignore the new federal Title IX changes that expand sex discrimination protection to students who identify as the opposite sex, or transgender.
The rule change, published on April 19, formalizes the Department of Education’s redefinition of the meaning of sex to include gender identity.
The changes, which go into effect Aug. 1, give males identifying as female the right to use female restrooms, locker rooms, and join female-only organizations. Under the new rule, “harassment” can include the use of biologically accurate pronouns.
Title IX is a landmark 1972 civil rights law meant to protect females from discrimination based on sex in federally funded educational programs and provide them equal opportunities.
Schools and colleges that fail to comply with Title IX stand to lose federal dollars.
This week, 15 states have filed lawsuits accusing the federal government of overreach and changing the nature of the original law. (Read more)

- We pray that more States will file lawsuits against the government for overreaching on this ruling. This is outrageous! We pray for deliverance from this tyranny!

- "A foolish ruler hurts the people under him, but a ruler who hates wrong will rule for a long time. A murderer will never have peace. Don't support such a person." (Proverbs 28: 2–26)

5. Systematic Review Reveals Many COVID-19 Vaccine Recipients Experienced New-Onset Psychosis - Epoch Times

Individuals who took COVID-19 vaccines were found to have later suffered from psychosis, with Pfizer and AstraZeneca shots linked to most of the cases.

The peer-reviewed systemic review, published in the Frontiers in Psychiatry journal on April 12, examined cases of new-onset psychosis among people who took the vaccines. Psychosis refers to symptoms that occur when an individual has difficulty differentiating between reality and fantasy, with hallucinations and delusions being two key types. The review looked at 21 articles describing 24 cases of psychosis symptoms following vaccination. The researchers concluded that “data suggest a potential link between young age, mRNA, and viral vector vaccines with new-onset psychosis within 7 days post-vaccination.”

“Collecting data on vaccine-related psychiatric effects is crucial for prevention, and an algorithm for monitoring and treating mental health reactions post-vaccination is necessary for comprehensive management.”

Out of the 24 cases, 13 were female. The median age of participants was 36 years. Twenty-two patients (91.2 percent) had no specific history of somatic illness and comorbidities.

In 33.3 percent of the cases, administration of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine “potentially induced adverse psychiatric events,” the study said. The viral vector AstraZeneca vaccine was linked to psychotic symptoms in 25 percent of cases. (Read more)

- Lord, thank You for revealing more and more of the deadly effects of these vaccines. We pray supernatural protection over those who received these vaccines.

- "No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” (Isaiah 54:17)
6. White House Commends ‘Admirable’ Students Protecting American Flag - Epoch Times

The White House praised the actions of UNC-Chapel Hill fraternity brothers on May 3 for protecting the American flag from protestors looking to tear it down and replace it with a Palestinian flag.

“All Americans have the right to peacefully protest,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who deemed it “admirable” to protect the flag. “It is not right to forcefully take down the American flag to replace it with another flag. It is not right.”

The White House also affirmed the position taken by President Joe Biden in his May 2 address on the ongoing pro-Palestine protests on college campuses, specifically that while the administration remains committed to the rule of law, it also opposes the idea of activating the National Guard.

“That is something that governors decide on,” Ms. Jean-Pierre said of deploying the National Guard. She also said that it is the universities and colleges that decide whether or not police presence is the right way to move forward.

“We have to follow the rule of law,” she said. “Violence is not protected here. But Americans have the right to peacefully, peacefully protest within the law, and we’re going to be very consistent here.” (Read more)

- Thank you that the American flag was protected during these pro -palestinian protests, and that our government praised the efforts.

- "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

7. Comer calls to cut funding to federal agencies that obstruct congressional investigations - Just the News

The House Oversight committee cited the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Energy (DOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Department of Defense (DoD), as among those who failed to comply with the requests.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer on Friday called for cuts in federal funding for agencies that obstruct congressional investigations for fiscal year 2025, after the Biden administration allegedly failed to respond to oversight requests.

Throughout the 118th Congress, the Biden Administration has been reluctant to fully respond to legitimate oversight requests," Comer wrote in a letter to the House Appropriations committee. "Agency heads appointed by President Biden, and at times, the White House itself, have repeatedly defied congressional authority to conduct oversight over the operations of the executive branch and how the Administration is carrying out its duties under the law.

"The Constitution provides that the government may only draw funds from the treasury ‘in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law...’ It is well past time for Congress to leverage its authority by using the power of the purse to compel compliance with oversight requests," he concluded.

Comer has notably helped lead the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, an investigation that Republicans say has been hampered by White House stonewalling. (Read more)

- We do pray that the funds be cut to those agencies that obstruct congressional investigations.

- "A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight." (Proverbs 11:1)

8. Biden administration finalizes rule that will open up ObamaCare to illegal immigrants - Just the News

The Biden administration estimates that 100,000 uninsured illegal immigrants will be able to access taxpayer-funded health insurance under the rule.

The Biden administration published a new rule Friday that will allow tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to receive health care through ObamaCare.

The new rule, according to a White House statement, removes a prohibition on illegal immigrants protected from deportation under the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program from accessing healthcare through the Affordable Care Act.

The rule will go into effect as soon as November 1, and the administration estimates that 100,000 uninsured illegal immigrants will be able to access taxpayer-funded health insurance under the rule. The immigrants will be able to apply for coverage through Healthcare.org and state-based marketplaces.

Referring to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors as “Dreamers,” President Joe Biden said the rule will grant them a pathway to citizenship.

“Today’s rule also reinforces the President’s enduring commitment to DACA recipients and Dreamers, who contribute daily to the strength and vitality of our communities and our country,” the White House said. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray there will be such an outcry from the citizens of the United States to stand against this new rule allowing more than 100,000 illegal immigrants to access taxpayer funded healthcare. We pray for a landslide election to place men and women in office to reverse these laws that continue to burden the taxpayer.

- "An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked." (Proverbs 29:27)

The Daily Jot

Does your church support Palestinian terrorism?

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 6, 2024

Many churches have issued statements condemning all forms of violence and antisemitism, but they selectively participate in the Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. In this current environment, supporting the Palestinian cause translates to Palestinian goals of annihilation of the Jewish people and Palestine from the river to the sea. Churches supporting Palestinian goals in any form are directly or indirectly supporting terrorism against Israel. Those who tithe and financially support these churches and organizations, are also supporting Palestinian terrorism. There is no moral equivalency of supporting the Palestinian state when it comes to Israel. God be the judge.

The Palestinian movement is not built on the foundation of human rights as the prominent gaslighting by media and global leaders suggest, but rather is the excuse for terrorism with the ultimate goal of another holocaust. One only have to look at the mission of Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups funded by not only the world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism, Iran, but also the billions of dollars world governments, including the US, give in the name of humanitarianism while knowing full well that the money elevates terrorism against Israel. I have personally witnessed this since the 1980s as a staffer for congressmen assigned to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Do not be deceived. Read More

Boeing's Starliner to join exclusive spacecraft club with 1st astronaut launch today
The launch will mark just the sixth time ever that NASA astronauts have broken in a brand-new spacecraft.

Boeing's Starliner capsule will join a very exclusive club today (May 6), if all goes according to plan.

A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket is set to launch Starliner and its two passengers, NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station today at 10:34 p.m. EDT (0234 GMT on May 7). You can watch the action live at Space.com, courtesy of NASA.

The liftoff will kick off Crew Flight Test (CFT), a roughly 10-day shakeout cruise to the International Space Station (ISS) that will be Starliner's first-ever astronaut mission. Such crewed debuts to Earth orbit have happened just five times in American history, as NASA chief Bill Nelson noted during a press briefing on Friday (May 3)
.
"So, you think of it: The first time [NASA astronauts] have flown on a new spacecraft started with Mercury, then with Gemini, then with Apollo, then space shuttle, then Dragon and now Starliner," Nelson said. "So it is a historical day; it's a wonderful day." Read More

Pennsylvania man aims gun at pastor in church, interrupts sermon on video
Bernard Polite, 26, charged with attempted homicide in Jesus' Dwelling Place Church attack in Pennsylvania

A Pennsylvania pastor ducked for cover during his sermon Sunday as video showed an armed man walking to the front of the church and pointing a gun at him from just steps away.

A parishioner near the front row ran up and tackled the suspect from behind and helped disarm him and hold him down before police arrived at Jesus' Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock. Pennsylvania State Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Bernard Polite.

The Rev. Glenn Germany was shown ducking for cover behind the pulpit before he emerged and helped wrestle the gun away.

He later said the gun jammed, sparing his life. (Fox News) Read more here.

Scripture: Ever the silver cord be loosed…then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:6–7

Lyrics:
Some day the silver cord will break,
And I no more as now shall sing;
But oh, the joy when I shall wake
Within the palace of the King!

Refrain
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story—Saved by grace;
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story—Saved by grace.

Some day my earthly house will fall.
I cannot tell how soon ’twill be;
But this I know—my All in All
Has now a place in Heav’n for me.

Refrain

Some day, when fades the golden sun
Beneath the rosy tinted west,
My blessèd Lord will say, Well done!
And I shall enter into rest.

Refrain

Some day: till then I’ll watch and wait,
My lamp all trimmed and burning bright,
That when my Savior opens the gate,
My soul to Him may take its flight.
