Arkansas Gov. Sanders Issues Executive Order Defying Biden Admin’s Title IX Rule

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued an executive order on Thursday directing state schools to defy the Biden administration’s expansion of Title IX protections to include students identifying as transgender.

The Republican governor’s order, signed on Thursday, asserts the state’s commitment to preserving the traditional understanding of sex as an “immutable characteristic of the human body” firmly “rooted in biology and the created order.”

“The government should celebrate, not erase, sex differences by providing proper protections for them,” the order reads. It also states that the Biden administration “has rejected reality and chosen to appease their left-wing base over students’ safety and best interests.”

The order comes in response to the Biden administration’s recent redefinition of “sex” under Title IX to include “gender identity,” a move viewed by Ms. Sanders as a departure from the law’s original intent.

“The Biden administration is attempting to unilaterally rewrite federal law to advance its radical gender ideology against women and girls,” reads the order by Ms. Sanders, who once served as press secretary during the Trump administration.

Ms. Sanders said in her order that the new rule’s expanded definition of sex to include sexual orientation and gender identity was “plainly ridiculous.” She said it would “lead to males unfairly competing in women’s sports; receiving access to women’s and girls’ locker rooms, bathrooms, and private spaces; and competing for women’s scholarships.”

(The Epoch Times) Read more here.
- We praise You, Lord, for Governor Sanders’ courage to stand up against the re-written IX rules. We pray that more governors would stand with her and refuse the rules that place women and girls in danger or destroy their futures in sports.

- “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (Ephesians 6:13)

Special Counsel Jack Smith Admits Prosecutors Misled Judge in Trump Case
Prosecutors say they’re not sure what happened.

Special counsel Jack Smith’s team on May 3 acknowledged they misled U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon regarding the handling of evidence in one of the criminal cases against former President Donald Trump.

Prosecutors in a court filing said that in some of the boxes FBI agents seized from President Trump’s Florida resort, the order of papers has been changed from shortly after the seizure.

Prosecutors compared scans of the boxes done in 2022 under orders from Judge Cannon to the present state of the boxes and noticed that the order is not the same.

“There are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans,” Mr. Smith’s team said.

In a footnote, prosecutors acknowledged that the update contrasts with what they told the judge less than one month ago, during a hearing in the case.

When Judge Cannon during the hearing asked whether the boxes were “in their original, intact form as seized,” a prosecutor on the team said, “they are, with one exception; and that is that the classified documents have been removed and placeholders have been put in the documents.”

Prosecutors were unable to confirm why the order of papers was changed but offered a theory.

“The boxes contain items smaller than standard paper such as index cards, books, and stationary, which shift easily when the boxes are carried, especially because many of the boxes are not full,” they said. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord, we pray that all unconstitutional actions rooted in the hatred or fear of Donald Trump be deleted. We ask that Your justice prevail for Mr. Trump, and help him to turn to You at this evil time. Let all deception and lies be revealed.

- “The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will remain forever; they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance." (Psalm 37: 18-19)

Some States Looking to Drop Electoral College for Popular Vote
There’s a push taking place at the state level to end the current form of the electoral college system in national elections, and to replace it with a popular vote. There’s now a movement of 17 states and the District of Columbia to go along with this proposed change. If enacted, this could represent a fundamental shift in how America’s elections are decided.
(The Epoch Times) Read more here.
- Lord, this plan has been attempted in several elections. The problem is that if the electoral college were to be destroyed, rural Americans would never again help elect the President, because major cities would dominate the votes. We pray that You would stop this movement yet again and protect the ability of all citizens to vote for their chosen candidate.

“Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.”           (Psalm 52:2)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. PM Netanyahu to the world: 'We will fight alone if we have to. Never again is now' - Israel National News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday addressed the opening ceremony of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

During the address, the Prime Minister turned to the world in English: "Eighty years ago, in the Holocaust, the Jewish people were totally defenseless against those who sought our destruction. No nation came to our aid.

"Today, we again confront enemies bent on our destruction."

Netanyahu continued: "I say to the leaders of the world, no amount of pressure, no decision by any international forum, will stop Israel from defending itself." (Read more)

2. Israel Set to Commemorate Yom Hashoah Under the Shadow of War and Global Antisemitism - Algemeiner

i24 News – As the sun sets on Sunday evening, Israel and Jewish communities worldwide will begin observing Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating the millions of Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis during World War II.

This year’s Yom HaShoah carries a larger significance, coming just months after the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust, and amid ongoing war in the Middle East.

Yom HaShoah has been observed in Israel since 1951, with the date anchored in law by the Knesset in 1959.

Across the country, solemn ceremonies will take place, including a state ceremony at Warsaw Ghetto Square in Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem, where survivors will light six torches to represent the six million victims of the Holocaust. The day will also be marked by services at schools, military bases, and other public institutions. (Read more)

3. Negotiations in Cairo drag on as prospects for Gaza ceasefire remain unlikely - Israel Hayom

Prospects for a Gaza ceasefire appeared slim on Sunday as Hamas reiterated its demand for an end to the war in exchange for the freeing of hostages, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flatly ruled out. The two sides blamed each other for the impasse.

In their second day of truce talks in Cairo with Egyptian and Qatari mediators, Hamas negotiators maintained their stance that any truce agreement must end the war, Palestinian officials said. Egyptian sources said CIA Director William Burns, who has also been involved in previous truce talks, arrived in Cairo on Friday.

Israeli officials have not traveled to Cairo to take part in indirect diplomacy, but on Sunday Netanyahu reiterated Israel's aim since the start of the war nearly seven months ago – to disarm and dismantle the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas for good or else endanger Israel's future security. 4. Burns heads to Doha for emergency meeting to salvage hostage deal - Jerusalem Post

CIA Director William Burns traveled to Doha Sunday night for an emergency meeting to salvage the hostage deal as the IDF prepared for a military operation in Rafah, and Hamas fired rockets at the Kerem Shalom Crossing, injuring ten.

Burns’s emergency meeting with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Thani in Doha is “aimed at exerting maximum pressure on Israel and Hamas to continue negotiating," an official briefed on the talks.

Prospects for a Gaza ceasefire appeared slim as Hamas reiterated its demand for an end to the war in exchange for the freeing of hostages, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flatly ruled that out, insisting that the IDF must be free to destroy Hamas including in Rafah. (Read more)

Rockets struck across the largely evacuated city, with hits reported on residential buildings and parked vehicles.

6. BREAKING! Israel gives Hamas one week to accept hostage deal before Rafah op. will begin - WSJ report

Israel gave Hamas a week to agree to a cease-fire deal, or the invasion of Rafah will begin, Egyptian officials told the Wall Street Journal on Friday.

Egyptian officials claimed that Hamas is seeking a long-term truce and guarantees from the US that a cease-fire will be respected by Israel.

Hamas expressed concern that the latest proposal is still too vague and gives Israel room to restart the fighting. (Read more)

1. Pentagon Confirms Americans Sharing Air Base with Russian Troops in Niger- Breitbart

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed on Friday that American troops are sharing space on Airbase 101, a facility in the capital of Niger, with Russian military forces, but dismissed the Russians’ presence as “not a significant issue here.”
Reuters reported late on Friday that the government of Niger – a military junta known as the “National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland” that took power in a televised coup in July – had allowed Russian forces onto the airbase.
“A senior U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Russian forces were not mingling with U.S. troops but were using a separate hangar at Airbase 101, which is next to Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey, Niger’s capital,” Reuters relayed.
The anonymous official described the situation as “not great.”

- Lord, we pray for the safety of our troops, and protection over their military equipment as well. We pray that they will be able to be evacuated or relocated.

2: Japanese government responds to Biden claim that Japan is 'xenophobic': 'Unfortunate' - Fox

The Japanese government has released a response to President Biden's recent comments asserting that the island nation is "xenophobic" for not accepting more immigrants.
Biden told the audience at a Wednesday campaign fundraiser that the U.S. economy is dominant "because we welcome immigrants."
"Why is China stalling so badly economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia? Why is India? Because they’re xenophobic," the president said.
Japanese officials at the embassy in Washington, D.C. told Fox News Digital that they had spoken to the Biden administration about the remarks and were informed the president's words were not meant to be derogatory.
"We are aware that the U.S. government has clarified that President Biden's comment was made in the context of explaining that the U.S. is a nation of immigrants and that immigrants make the U.S. stronger, and that his comment was not made with the intent of undermining the importance and permanence of the Japan-U.S. relationship," the embassy told Fox News Digital.
However, the officials also said Biden's "xenophobic" comments were "not based on an accurate understanding of Japan's policies," calling the situation "unfortunate." (Read more)

-  Father, we pray that You will work in Biden’s heart to change his perspective from using poorly thought-out remarks for our allies. We pray that Your Holy Spirit would bring repentance to this administration, and wisdom to our leaders.

3. 34 GOP senators call potential Biden plan for Palestinian refugees national security risk- The Hill

More than two dozen Republican senators are calling a potential proposal by President Biden to accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza a national security risk, following the administration’s acknowledgment that discussions are underway to help Palestinians in the U.S. bring families over from the region.
letter rejecting the potential proposal was led by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), the number three GOP leader, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and 33 colleagues.
It signals another avenue Republicans may try to attack Biden ahead of the November election.
While Biden has maintained robust military support for Israel, he is under immense political pressure from Democrats and progressives amid increasingly violent protests across the U.S. to do more to hold Israel to account for a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. (Read more)

- Father in Heaven, we pray that You will prevent this plan from fruition. This is a serious national security issue. We pray for a move of repentance to flood through our leadership to change their hearts to protect US citizens before others.

- “The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” (Ps. 121: 7-8)

4. Joe Biden Opens Obamacare to DACA Illegal Aliens as 25M Americans Uninsured- Breitbart

President Joe Biden is opening the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, to illegal aliens enrolled in former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
On Friday, Biden issued a final rule that will open Obamacare rolls to some DACA illegal aliens enrolled in the program. Obama first created the DACA program via executive order, shielding more than a million illegal aliens from deportation through the years.
Previously, Center for Immigration Studies researchers estimated that the cost of opening Obamacare and Medicaid rolls to illegal aliens would cost American taxpayers about $4,600 per illegal alien.
At this rate, Obamacare and Medicaid for DACA illegal aliens has the potential to cost American taxpayers roughly $2.8 billion every year. At the same time, more than 25 million Americans are expected to be uninsured today. (Read more)

- Lord, as taxpayers, we are being saturated with extra costs. We ask on our knees for Your mercy over these highly costly programs. Rescue Your people, dear Lord, and save us from the plans of the adversary.

- “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

5. 'Stop the invasion': Migrant flights in battleground state ignite bipartisan backlash from lawmakers - Fox

Democrat and Republican lawmakers in a crucial battleground state are "deeply troubled" after a group of illegal immigrants were flown to the Big Sky Country on a late night flight.
Five migrants, reportedly from Venezuela, were flown from New York to Kalispell, Montana Wednesday night into Glacier Park International Airport, Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino confirmed to Fox News Digital. The migrants were reportedly dropped off and eventually provided housing in the city, but Heino said it was just "one of many instances."
"The only way an illegal immigrant from South America ends up in Montana is if a ‘nonprofit’ connected with the Biden Administration moves them there," said Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., said in a press release, referring to Valley Neighbors, the local nonprofit that picked up the migrants who were flown into the state.
"Montana law enforcement, schools, hospitals and safety nets are being stressed to their max because of the Biden border crisis," said Zinke, who represents the district covering Flathead. "It’s unacceptable and absolutely needs to end now." (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will move on the nonprofits doing the Biden Administration’s bidding and bring about change. We ask for repentance, for integrity, for the gifts of Your Spirit to reveal Your heart for Americans in all states.

- “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” (Luke 16:10)

6: Texas Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar, Wife Indicted for Bribery- Breitbart

The Department of Justice announced the indictment of U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) and his wife, Imelda, on charges of accepting bribes. Cuellar, the representative for Texas 28th Congressional District, has been in office since 2005. The indictments come more than two years after agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant on Cuellar’s Laredo home.
DOJ officials stated that the congressman and his wife are charged with accepting nearly $600,000 in bribes from an energy company in Azerbaijan. Cuellar and his wife appeared before Magistrate Judge Dena Palermo in Houston.
Prosecutors claim the couple accepted the bribes from the energy company controlled by the Government of Azerbaijan and a bank located in Mexico City. The payments were laundered through sham consulting contracts. The congressman then provided influence for the energy company to affect U.S. foreign policy and to pressure U.S. Executive Branch officials to benefit the bank’s interest, prosecutors stated. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for Mr. Cuellar and his wife, that Your Spirit would touch their lives. If this case is true, let repentance flow.

- “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  (Acts 2:38)

7. NYPD: Funding for Pro-Palestinian ‘Encampments’ Comes from ‘Around the World’- Breitbart

New York Police Department (NYPD) Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Tarik Sheppard told Fox News‘ Neil Cavuto on Thursday that pro-Palestinian “encampments” at many universities are run by “outside agitators” with funds from “around the world.”
Sheppard said that the NYPD was “very confident” that “outside agitators and influencers” have been present at protests in the city. Often, these “professionals” manage to escape arrest.
“They may just fly in for a day or two, and leave,” he said, adding that they “travel around the country” between protests.
Sheppard added: “And they have funding. They are funded by private individuals around the world sometimes.” He said that students are often easily manipulated by the professional activists to join radical, often illegal, protests.
As Breitbart News noted, one veteran activist, Lisa Fithian, was allegedly seen this week at the site of the Columbia University protests, which ended with a violent occupation of a university building, and intervention by the NYPD.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has been silent about the organizations, activists, and donors behind the protests. A lawsuit filed this week alleges that some of the organizations involved, such as Students for Justice in Palestine, are acting as propaganda arms for the Hamas terrorist organization that carried out the October 7 terror attacks in Israel. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask that all hidden funding of these antisemitic protests be revealed and removed. We ask that all funding of illegal and evil actions be stopped and prevented. We pray for Your heart change for all who walk against Your ways.

- “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

8. Trump Campaign Sues Nevada Over Law Allowing Mail Ballots To Be Counted 4 Days After Election- Daily Wire

The Republican National Committee alongside the Trump presidential campaign filed a lawsuit on Friday against Nevada for allowing mail-in ballots that arrive up to four days after Election Day to be counted.
The suit, also joined by the Nevada Republican Party, is challenging a Nevada law that says mail-in ballots can be counted if they are postmarked before the end of the day on Election Day and arrive up to four days after the election. According to the suit, this law violates federal election law and disproportionately harms Republicans.
“Nevada’s ballot receipt deadline clearly violates federal law and undermines election integrity in the state. Ballots received days after Election Day should not be counted — the RNC and our partners are suing to secure an honest election, support Nevada voters, and oppose unlawful schemes,” said RNC Chair Michael Whatley.
Filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Nevada, the suit names Democratic Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar and the county clerks and registers of Washoe and Clark County.  (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will surround President Trump and his attorneys with mercy and love, with truth as their banner. Grant them favor in the courts, and wisdom to state their case with strength.

- “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11)

9: Houston-area flooding forces hundreds to be rescued as rivers keep rising, local authorities say- Houston Chronicle

Crews that converged in flood-ravaged parts of the Houston area have rescued more than 600 people since the heavy rainfall and flooding started earlier this week, according to reports from individual counties.
Harris County agencies have rescued 176 people and 122 pets as of 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
In Montgomery County, 390 people have been rescued by authorities, along with 95 animals. Those 390 people were split into two categories by the county's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. They have recorded 52 people as being rescued from life-saving situations with another 338 evacuated from situations that aren't considered life threatening.
"We do expect these numbers to change as we get more information in from our local partners," said Trey Baxter, the Section Chief of Preparedness and Response with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. "But these are very preliminary numbers that we got today."
Liberty County has not been counting the exact number of people it has saved but the Office of Emergency Management reports that authorities have completed 98 "water assists." The county defines a water assist as a mission where the authorities are called to help people escape but it is not deemed as a life-threatening situation. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Your comfort and mercy over all who have been afflicted in this flooding. We ask for restoration for them and a move of repentance to draw them all to Your heart.

- “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”          (Psalm 34:18)

And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!
"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Residents fear for safety as Indonesia's Mount Ruang volcano erupts
TAGULANDANG, Indonesia (Reuters) - Antelmus Paulus, 67, is in despair after the eruption on Tuesday of Indonesia's Ruang volcano rendered his home on Tagulandang island uninhabitable and prompted authorities to evacuate more than 12,000 people.

Antelmus' zinc-roofed house, about 7 kms (4.35 miles) from the 725-metre (2378.61 ft) high volcano, was heavily damaged by the ejected material.

"There were rocks that were spewed (from the volcano), it lasted at least three hours," he told Reuters on Thursday while awaiting evacuation. "I have no place to live now."

The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) has also warned of a potential tsunami triggered by volcanic material collapsing into the ocean.

Another island resident, Sulce Ansar, said Tuesday's eruption was "worse" than the series of eruptions last month that forced hundreds to evacuate.

"I remember seeing the fiery red clouds (of) lava (spewing) into the air, along with gravels, volcanic ash raining down the island. I had to run very far that night," she said. Read More

The Good News Corner
One man counts the cost, yet “Jesus is worth it all”
Jordan (MNN) — For countless Christians, following Jesus costs them everything. For others, being a Christian actually brings some sort of gain within their culture. Yet over every Christian’s life is this truth: Jesus is worth it all.  Samuel* with Redemptive Stories shares the story of a dear friend of his that we’ll call Peter.  Peter is from Iraq. He lived as a refugee in another country with his wife and children. About a year ago, he came to faith in Christ after months of meeting with Samuel and other team members in their ministry. “He knew that there was God, but he didn’t believe in Islam anymore,” Samuel says. “So when he met a team of believers that were engaged with him and began to share with him, he felt something different that he had never seen before in someone’s life. He felt a joy and a peace.”

As these Christians drew closer and closer to telling Peter the story of why Jesus really came, they saw evidence of God’s work in his heart. “Every time that the team would meet with him, he would just cry, just tears of repentance,” Samuel says.  “Fast forward a year, and he’s been working with his family, trying to share with them (and) others. (He) is just on fire for God and communicating the story of redemption, God’s story, with whomever will listen.” But there has been a deep cost recently. At first, Peter’s wife was glad for his faith. She saw a difference in him and the new peace he had. But when Peter grew more bold in sharing his faith, she began to recognize its impact on their family. Their children’s reputations, future marriages and jobs within the Muslim community were at stake. For her, that was too much. Earlier this year, she left with their kids to return to Iraq.  This devastating loss for Peter raises other concerns. If his extended family learns he has renounced Islam, there is a chance they will do something to harm him even in the host country he is remaining in.  “Those realities are real,” Samuel says, “but he’s said over and over again to our team that it’s worth it, Jesus is worth it.” (MNN) Read More

- Father, we pray shalom and blessings upon our brothers and sisters around the world who are risking their lives by proclaiming You as Lord and Savior. We ask for Your strengthening and shield of protection around each of them. We declare Your plans will prevail as new believers share boldly, testifying about Jesus Christ to those within their families and communities. We praise You for new believers being called into Your holy Kingdom and declare the harvest will continue to grow exponentially with testimonies of many coming into salvation in Jesus. May the church across America be awakened to emulate the same sacrificial love for Jesus Christ shown by those who are persecuted around the world!  In Yeshua's holy Name-Amen

- "Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me" (Matthew16:24)

A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer

Words and Music: Luther Bridges

Scripture: He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:3

Lyrics:
There’s within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee; peace, be still,
In life’s constant ebb and flow.

Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know,
Fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.

All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumbering chords again.

Refrain

Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting ’neath His sheltering wing,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.

Refrain

Though sometimes He leads through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.

Refrain

Soon He’s coming back to welcome me,
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown,
I shall reign with Him on high.
