Cleanup underway after deadly storms blast Dallas, Houston with hurricane-force winds, baseball-sized hail
Outside the Houston metro, several homes that were under construction in Magnolia, Texas, collapsed during the severe storms. After combing through the debris, firefighters said they found the body of a construction worker and believe no one else was trapped in the rubble.

DALLAS  Cleanup efforts continue in Texas from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to Houston after severe weather left trails of damage and knocked out power to more than 1 million utility customers on Tuesday.

Powerful thunderstorms barreled across the Lone Star State and produced baseball-sized hail and hurricane-force wind gusts that tore roofs from buildings, flipped vehicles and snapped trees like twigs.

The extreme weather started before sunrise in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, with the National Weather Service issuing numerous Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Tornado Warnings while outdoor warning sirens wailed and cellphones lit up with emergency notifications.

Dallas County appeared to be especially hard hit, and officials warn power outages there could last for days.

Storms then raced off to the south and impacted the Houston area, which is still in recovery mode after the region saw significant damage from a deadly derecho that blasted the city with destructive 100-mph winds two weeks ago.

And the severe weather risk isn’t over. The threat of thunderstorms and torrential rain will continue in Texas through at least the end of the workweek.

Texas storms flip tractor-trailers, rip roofs from buildings

In Collin County, north of Dallas, first responders reported baseball-sized hail that fell near Lowry Crossing, with several other communities reporting ping-pong-ball-sized and half-dollar-sized hail.

Damaging winds were also reported, with an 83-mph wind gust near Denton and a 75-mph wind gust at Dallas Love Field Airport. (Fox News) Read more here

- Abba, our hearts break for all who suffered the death of a loved one or loss of their homes or businesses over the Memorial Day weekend.   We ask You to speak directly to their hearts, speak the words that You know each needs to hear.  We ask You to bring your comfort in the face of all the death and destruction, remind them that You never leave them or forsake them, that you are an ever-present God.  Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill each heart with supernatural faith, pour out renewed hope in the face of the loss, and in time, please Father God, as they are able, restore their hearts to them,   We ask this in the name Jehovah Rapha, The Lord Who Heals.

Trump NY Trial: Closing Arguments Begin

Closing arguments will begin Tuesday in the Manhattan business records trial of former President Donald Trump.

The defense will give their closing argument first, with Democrat New York City District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s team to go second. The closing arguments could stretch into a second day.

Trump expressed disagreement with that decision on Truth Social, posting Monday evening:

WHY IS THE CORRUPT GOVERNMENT ALLOWED TO MAKE THE FINAL ARGUMENT IN THE CASE AGAINST ME? WHY CAN’T THE DEFENSE GO LAST? BIG ADVANTAGE, VERY UNFAIR. WITCH HUNT! DJT

In a follow-up post, Trump also noted other elements of how case was presided over that legal analysts have called unfair.

Trump noted that Judge Juan Merchan quashed his defense team’s attempt to subpoena Mark Pomerantz as a witness. Pomerantz was a former prosecutor in Bragg’s office. Trump also noted that Merchan had restricted what another witness, former Federal Elections Commissioner Brad Smith, could say about campaign finance law so much that the defense decided not to use him. And Trump noted that Merchan lashed out at another of the defense’s witness, Bob Costello, threatening to strike his testimony from the record after he raised his eyebrows at one of Merchan’s ruling.

Trump posted:

Could somebody please ask Judge Merchan, whatever happened to MARK POMERANTZ, the man Alvin Bragg was furious at for the things he did on this contrived and unconstitutional case, and why wasn’t he allowed to testify? Also, why did Judge Merchan not allow Brad Smith, the leading Election Law Expert in the Country, to testify. He would have ended the case quickly by explaining the Law and stating that President Trump did nothing wrong. Likewise Bob Costello, and all of his direct and irrefutable knowledge, why was he so horribly treated and completely shut down by the Conflicted Judge, and why were his Emails and Text Messages not allowed to be shown…And then, of course, there’s the BIGGEST EVENT OF THEM ALL, but I’m not allowed to talk about it because I’m under an illegal and unconstitutional GAG ORDER. This is the Biden White House at work. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!

- Abba, with all that has been said concerning this trial, all the words that have been spoken for and against President Trump,, we ask You to give each jurist the ears to hear truth, the eyes to see truth and the heart to understand truth, in Jesus' name.  We ask Holy Spirit to pour out discernment over this Jury, that each one will have Your thoughts, Your wisdom as they deliberate in making an informed decision, in Jesus' name.

We ask for Your perfect will to be done in this case, in Jesus' name.  Jesus, we ask you to move on hearts, give courage and strength to each jurist as they decide how to vote in the face of all the publicity concerning this case,  We decree and declare that satan will not have the access to sway people's minds, hearts, spirits or emotions during the conversations that will take place in making this decision, in Jesus' name.

We ask this in the name Yahweh Nissi, The Lord Our Banner, where banner is understood to be a rallying place.  This name commemorates Israel's desert victory over the Amaleki. Amen.

Trump Vows: I Will Rip Up, Throw Away WHO Pandemic Agreement
President Trump took aim at global governance institutions in general, and the World Health Organization (WHO) specifically, on Saturday, promising to shred and annul the WHO Pandemic Agreement unless Joe Biden submits the document to the U.S. Senate for ratification, as required for treaties.

“As we speak, Joe Biden’s minions are in Geneva, secretly negotiating to surrender more of our liberty to the World Health Organization,” President Trump told the Libertarian Party National Convention, eliciting a fulsome chorus of boos. “Drafts of the agreement show that they want to subjugate America to foreign nations, attack free speech, [and] empower the World Health Organization to redistribute American resources.”

Multiple drafts of the proposed accord show the WHO limiting national sovereignty by demanding nations follow its regulations on “routine immunization” and “social measures,” turn over 20% of all vaccines for global redistribution, and abide by the agreement’s terms even after they withdraw.

“They’re going to take our money and send it all over the world to other countries that we need for our own citizens,” in the event of a pandemic, Trump told the crowd in Washington on Saturday, warning that a pandemic “could happen again” in the United States. His comments came just days after the Department of Health and Human Services took the first steps to deny future federal grants to the EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S.-based NGO which funded gain-of-function research at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I will protect American sovereignty from the creeping hands of global government,” promised Trump. By contrast, the Biden administration has signaled its desire to sign the agreement, which WHO downgraded from a “legally-binding treaty” after Biden realized the U.S. Senate would never ratify the controversial document.

“I am hereby demanding that Joe Biden submit these monstrosities to the Senate as treaties,” declared Trump on Saturday. “If he does not, I will rip them up and throw them out on day one of the Trump administration.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.
- Abba, We give You thanks and praise that your son, Donald, is taking a very hard line against the World Health Organization!  We ask You to block any and all plans of the enemy to use this organization to gain control over the US and any other nation.  We ask Holy Spirit to speak to each member of the House and Senate, let Your voice speak Your truth  and give each one the strength and courage to take a stand, to speak out against this evil power grab by the Elite Globalists.  We decree that the United States will NEVER give control of our sovereignty over to the WHO or any non-American organization.  We ask this in the name El Shaddai, God Almighty, the God who has ultimate power over all things.

- "God is our refuge and strength,
         an ever-present help in trouble."

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Fighting escalates in Rafah as Israel pushes ahead with its offensive - Israel Hayom

Palestinian residents of the southern Gaza city of Rafah have reported an escalation of fighting Tuesday as Israeli forces pressed their assault on the border town once seen as the territory's last refuge.

Israel says it is carrying out limited operations in eastern Rafah along the Gaza-Egypt border, as the United States and other allies of Israel have warned against a full-fledged offensive in the city.

According to unverified reports, shelling and airstrikes west of Rafah killed at least 37 people overnight and on Tuesday, most of them sheltering in tents, but these figures have not been confirmed and rely only on witnesses, emergency workers, and hospital officials. The strikes pummeled the same area where strikes on Sunday triggered a deadly fire that engulfed tents in a camp for displaced Palestinians, supposedly killing 45 people, when secondary explosions happened after two Hamas terrorists were eliminated while hiding within civilians used as human shields. 2. New Labor chairman: Do not report for reserve duty until the government changes - Israel National News

The new chairman of the Labor Party, former MK Yair Golan, called at a conference held in recent weeks for what he defined as “civil disobedience” in order to topple the government, Channel 14 revealed on Wednesday.

"Remember the reservists’ letter? The slightest threat of civil disobedience put Netanyahu under crazy pressure. Why don't we make much more extensive use of it?" Golan told the participants.

When asked what, as far as he’s concerned, the term “civil disobedience” includes, Golan replied, "It is, for example, not reporting for reserve duty until the government changes."

Following the report, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called on Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to order a criminal investigation against Golan. (Read more)

3. Two seriously wounded in car-ramming attack outside West Bank city of Nablus - Times of Israel

Two people were seriously wounded in a car-ramming attack near the West Bank city of Nablus, the military and medics say.

The Rescuers Without Borders emergency service said the two were treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital.

Following the attack, which occurred near the Itamar settlement at one of the entrances to Nablus, the IDF said it launched a manhunt for the suspect, with a large number of forces involved in the pursuit. (Read more)

4. Two soldiers wounded as IDF locates 20 tunnels near to Egypt-Philadelphi corridor - Jerusalem Post

Two soldiers, one of them a combat officer from the 614th Battalion of the Combat Engineering Corps, were seriously wounded in a battle in the northern Gaza Strip after encountering terrorists at close range. Additionally, a fighter from the Yahalom unit of the Combat Engineering Corps was seriously wounded in a battle in the southern Gaza Strip.

The military said on Wednesday that it now had full operational control of the Philadelphi Corridor, which runs along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. This effectively clamps down on any possible weapons flow to Hamas from the outside. Troops located 20 tunnels crossing into Egypt near the Philadelphi Corridor and 82 tunnel shafts. This information was passed on to Egypt. Egypt’s Al Qahera News denied the reports.

“It doesn’t mean that we have boots on the ground across all of the corridors, but it means we can control and we have the ability to cut off the oxygen line that Hamas has used for replenishing and movement in and around that area,” a military official said. (Read more)

5. Brazilian president recalls ambassador to Israel - World Israel News

The president of Brazil recalled his country’s ambassador to Israel Wednesday, the latest expression of Brasilia’s disapproval of the IDF’s ongoing war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, head of the left-wing Worker’s Party who narrowly unseated the right-wing, pro-Israel president Jair Bolsonaro in 2022, ordered that Ambassador Frederico Meyer be reassigned with no immediate replacement named to serve as ambassador, downgrading ties with Israel.

Lula has long be a critic of the Jewish state – as well as an active supporter of the Palestine Liberation Organization – and sparked controversy earlier this year when he compared Israel’s war on Hamas to the Holocaust.

“What is happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people has no parallel in other historical moments. In fact, it did exist when Hitler decided to kill the Jews,” Lula said in February. “It’s not a war of soldiers against soldiers. It’s a war between a highly prepared army and women and children.” (Read more)

1. S.C. Becomes 25th State to Protect Minors from Gender Transition Procedures - Washington Stand

While some states still allow children to go under the knife in the name of “gender identity,” the Palmetto State has become the latest to officially protect children from invasive gender transition interventions. On Tuesday, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster (R) signed into law House Bill 4624, known as the “Help Not Harm” bill, prohibiting gender transition procedures for minors. McMaster said on social media that the new law “protects our state’s children from irreversible gender transition procedures and bans public funds from being used for them.”

The text of the legislation stipulates, “A physician, mental health provider, or other health care professional shall not knowingly provide gender transition procedures to a person under eighteen years of age.”

The text clarifies, “‘Gender transition procedures’ means puberty-blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, or genital or nongenital gender reassignment surgery, provided or performed for the purpose of assisting an individual with a physical gender transition.” The legislation further bars public funds from being “used directly or indirectly for gender transition procedures” and demands that the “South Carolina Medicaid Program shall not reimburse or provide coverage for practices prohibited under the provisions of this chapter.” (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, help us to walk in Christ: putting off our old self with its deceitful desires, renewing our minds, and putting on our new self–created to be like You in righteousness and holiness. Help us to teach truth to our children and explain our beliefs to others, remaining grounded in Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

- “When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:21-24)

2. Ohio governor calls special session to pass legislation ensuring President Biden is on 2024 ballot - Associated Press

Ohio’s Republican Gov. Mike DeWine said Thursday that he is calling a rare special session of the General Assembly next week to pass legislation ensuring that President Joe Biden is on the state’s 2024 ballot.

The special session was called for Tuesday.
“Ohio is running out of time to get Joe Biden, the sitting President of the United States, on the ballot this fall. Failing to do so is simply unacceptable. This is ridiculous. This is (an) absurd situation,” DeWine said.

The question of whether Biden will appear on the ballot has become entangled in a partisan legislative fight to keep foreign money out of state ballot campaigns, a year after cash tied to a Swiss billionaire boosted a successful effort to enshrine abortion rights in the solidly red state’s constitution. 3. Louisiana governor signs law making abortion drugs controlled substances - WNG

Gov. Jeff Landry signed the bill into law late Friday afternoon. The law is scheduled to go into effect at the beginning of October.  It criminalizes the induction of an abortion without the mother’s consent or knowledge and reclassifies the abortion drugs mifepristone and misoprostol as Schedule IV controlled substances.

The reclassification would make it illegal to possess the drugs without a valid prescription. Abortion is already illegal in the state, with exceptions for cases in which the life of the mother is at stake.  The penalty for possessing the drugs would be a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years in prison, as well as a maximum fine of $5,000.

The bill says it will not be illegal, under that provision of the bill, for a pregnant woman to possess the drugs and consume them herself. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that Christian voters would see through deceptive arguments and realize that loving our neighbors–both mothers and babies–requires us to advocate for laws that protect both. We pray for women who have been forced into having an abortion that their abusers would face justice, and that these women would find healing and comfort in Christ.

- “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

4. Pro-Palestine rioters set fire to Israeli embassy in Mexico - DML News

Pro-Palestine rioters went on a rampage in Mexico City Tuesday night, and set fire to the Israeli Embassy. From the Jewish Chronicle: “Rioters on Tuesday set fire to the Israeli Embassy in Mexico during a protest ostensibly against the Israeli military operation in the southern Gazan city of Rafah. Masked protesters threw stones at security forces who had created a barricade preventing access to the diplomatic mission in the Mexico City’s Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood.

Around 200 people participated in the “Urgent Action for Rafah” demonstration, dozens of whom attempted to break down the barriers, according to AFP.”

Videos posted to social media show a huge fire outside the Israeli Embassy, while the rioters chanted, beat drums and waved Palestinian flags. (Read more)

5. Federal judge rules New Hampshire law limiting teaching of race, gender topics unconstitutional - The Hill

A federal judge in New Hampshire struck down a New Hampshire law that limited public schools’ teaching of race and gender topics, ruling the law is unconstitutional Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Paul J. Barbadoro’s decision is the first in the nation to overturn such a measure for kindergarten through 12th grade public schools, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Hampshire said Tuesday.

The state law sought to curb New Hampshire public schools from discussing “divisive concepts” related to race or sex, banning K-12 students from being “taught, instructed, inculcated or compelled to express belief in, or support for” the idea they are “inherently superior” to others based on their race, religion, gender identity or other characteristic.

We ask Lord that you continue to press on each, and every heart all over the world, the importance of protecting the little ones whom you’ve entrusted to us that we would lead and guide them in the way that they should go. We pray for repentance of our leadership that more leaders would stand up to protect our young children, no matter how great the backlash in Jesus name amen.

6. Boston Democratic mayor says criminals should not be prosecuted for theft, gang registry should be abolished - Fox News

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu advocated a soft-on-crime agenda by pushing to abolish the gang registry and arguing that criminal behavior – such as theft – should not be prosecuted.

Prior to being elected mayor, Wu filled out the "2021 Boston Mayoral Candidate Questionnaire" from Progressive Massachusetts, a 501c4 nonprofit organization that tracks and ranks how progressive elected officials are. According to its website, the group "intends to transform Massachusetts into a bold laboratory for progressive state initiatives."

In the document, Wu outlined her most progressive commitments, including her support for noncitizens voting in Boston's local elections.  The mayor was asked, "Do you support shuttering the Boston Police gang database?"
She answered, "Yes." (Read more)

- Lord God, we know that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but the principalities and powers of the air influencing human beings who yield to them to do these things. So we come against this lawlessness, strife, and chaos that is trying to influence the governments in our cities, schools, Legislatures, and we break it in the name of Jesus that it cannot continue in Jesus name.

- “Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.” (Romans 16:17)

Stupidocrisy: Celebrating Evil

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 29, 2024

Imagine if during World War II, news of Adolf Hitler’s death circulated around the world and each country sent their ambassadors to his funeral or provided public statements of sympathy to Germany. This would have been unheard of because back then an enemy was an enemy and a ruthless murderer was sought out and destroyed. Fast forward to today when Iran’s “president” (interpreted “Butcher of Tehran”) has a hard landing in a helicopter and meets his demise. Countries around the world sent their condolences even though they knew what kind of ruthless oppression this man suffered upon his own people and the terror he brought upon others, especially Israel.

America was among the first in line. That’s right. Joe Biden’s National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby told reporters on May 20, “President Raisi was responsible for atrocious human rights in his own country–the arrest and the physical violence against hundreds of protesters, for instance. And, of course, he’s responsible for the support that Iran provides–or he was responsible for the support that Iran provided terrorist networks throughout the region, which obviously led to–the support that he’d given Hamas–led to the slaughter of 1,200 innocent Israeli people on the 7th of October. No question this was a man who had a lot of blood on his hands. That said, as we would in any other case, we certainly regret in general the loss of life, and offered official condolences as appropriate.” Why, Mr. Kirby, why? Legal scholar warns Trump conviction would leave entire justice system 'weaponized'

Dershowitz: Both sides would then use court cases to win elections

The entire justice system in America would be left "weaponized" if a Democrat prosecutor in New York City obtains a conviction of President Trump.

That's according to legal scholar and longtime commentator Alan Dershowitz, who taught law at Harvard.

report in Just the News reveals Dershowitz, a professor emeritus at Harvard, issued a warning about the future of justice in America.

"It there's a conviction here, it will change the justice system forevermore," he told the "Just the News, No Noise" television program. "It will weaponize the system. It will mean that both sides will try to use the system as a way of winning elections."

Multiple commentators have charged that the Democrats are pushing that very agenda right now – with four different cases, all brought by Democrats, against President Donald Trump.

Several of them have gone far astray from the plans originally made by Democrats, including those in the White House, who are behind the schemes. Critics of the Democrats' political court cases against Trump contend the party is terrified that Trump will defeat Joe Biden in the 2024 election, which according to polls now appears as least possible if not likely, and they are trying to defeat Trump by orchestrating convictions that could put him in jail. They even have brought unsuccessful attempts to keep Trump off the ballot.

But one that has gone to trial is pending before a jury this week.

In it, prosecutor Alvin Bragg claims that there were some bookkeeping mistakes in Trump's company, and those misdemeanors, which were declined for prosecution by multiple jurisdictions earlier, now are felonies.

Bragg makes that claim on the basis that they were used to further another crime, which is only vaguely identified.

Dershowitz warned that if the Democrats are successful in their weaponization of prosecutors and judges against Trump in their case involving a so-called "hush money" payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, the benefits of such strategies will be confirmed.

"If there's an acquittal, maybe at least we can say the jury system works," the lawyer said. "But if there's a conviction or even a hung jury, it will show that the prosecution benefits from bringing a case, which is no crime at all."

He charged that even the judge, Juan Merchan, who is handling the Trump case, is actively working against Trump.

"I don't know the reason but it's obvious that he is not unbiased in this case," he said. "He wants a conviction." (World Net Daily) Read more here.

- Father, we ask You to allow this camp of prosecutors to see the handwriting on the wall before them, "mene mene tekel upharsin" (Daniel 5:25), and tremble in their sin and error, in Jesus name.  We call for the standards of justice in our nation to hold fast beyond the corruption of this lawlessness because they are grounded and based in the word of God.  Holy One, we remind You that, though we fall short, there is a remnant of saints who are crying out to You day and night to save and redeem this nation. May the justice and righteousness that are the foundation of Your throne in heaven (Psalm 89:14), be released upon the courts of this earth, for Your glory and praise.  Amen.

- " ... Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. 7Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.” (2 Chronicles 19:6-7)
Not just Taiwan – China lusting after Philippines as well

Although China’s designs on world domination cause many people to focus on the communist superpower’s lust for “re-unification” with Taiwan, it turns out the Philippines, just a few hundred miles due south of Taiwan, are also increasingly in China’s crosshairs.

Earlier this month, the Marcos-led government approved a massive $35 billion grant to the Philippine Navy as part of its Armed Forces of the Philippines modernization budget, as Philstar Global reported. According to the Philippine-based news outlet, the Southeast Asian country is committed to bolstering its military capabilities in the contested waters of the West Philippine Sea.

Col. Grant Newsham (USMC-Ret.), who once served as the first Marine liaison officer to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, confirmed to WND that while Taiwan gets most of the attention when considering a future conflict in East Asia, “it’s worth remembering that the Philippines occupy an equally strategic position along the so-called First Island Chain.”

Considering this, Newsham added, “any Chinese assault on Taiwan would need to neutralize the northern Philippines – and particularly any American forces operating from there.”

Given the multi-decade focus on internal threats, Newsham said, it made sense that the Philippine military received a huge increase in defense spending. “Philippine naval and air capabilities languished and many, if not most, observers believed the Philippines was by and large unable to defend itself from outside threats,” he noted.

For the retired Marine Corps officer, “The significance of giving the Philippine Navy a bigger share of the defense budget is that it potentially improves the nation’s ability to defend its maritime territory that has been under constant threat from the Chinese for the last couple decades.” (CSP) Read more here

Biden Administration Presses Allies Not to Confront Iran on Nuclear Program

The Biden administration is pressing European allies to back off plans to rebuke Iran for advances in its nuclear program, even as it expands its stockpile of near-weapons-grade fissile material to a record level, according to diplomats involved in discussions.

The U.S. is arguing against an effort by Britain and France to censure Iran at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s member state board in early June, the diplomats said. The U.S. has pressed a number of other countries to abstain in a censure vote, saying that is what Washington will do, they said.

1,000 tornado reports: Worst year for twisters since 2011
The 2024 severe weather season is the worst one in more than a decade with over 1,000 tornado reports so far this year, and more twisters are in the forecast.

Almost 100 preliminary tornado reports were filed with the Storm Prediction Center in 13 states over the Memorial Day weekend. The storms killed at least 22 people and have brought the 2024 tornado report total to over 1,000 twisters.

This year's total number of tornado reports stands at 1,008 on Memorial Day, higher than any year-to-date total since 2011. The historical average number of tornadoes by May 27 is 731.

The strongest tornado to hit the United States this year, a monstrous twister with 185-mph winds, destroyed much of Greenfield, Iowa, on May 21, 2024.

So far this year, Iowa leads the country in tornado reports by state with 98. Texas is second, with 96. Only Nevada, Idaho, New Jersey, Delaware and New England have had zero tornado reports.

Adding in hail and wind reports and with four days still left, this month is the most active May for severe weather since 2011, with 5,526 preliminary reports. Read More

The Good News Corner
A small network of missionaries for Marines says the strongest weapon against enemy forces is the Word of God. Valor and sacrifice typically top the list when honoring the attributes of our fallen heroes. Yet, the non-profit Tun Tavern Fellowship is helping any Marine willing to walk in relationship with Jesus Christ, and renew their strength in the Lord.  Lieutenant Colonel John Dalby has been a U.S. Marine for 19 years. He serves at the Pentagon as Liaison Officer for Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Lt. Col. Dalby says his faith is foundational, which is why he also serves on the non-profit's board of directors. He went on to explain how the Marines' culture is very similar to Christianity, which is best articulated by Gen. Charles Krulak, 31st Commandant of the Marine Corps – "The Marine Corps leadership and values go hand-in-hand with the biblical model of leadership and character God gives us through Jesus Christ."

Dalby says he remembers how strong the presence of God was to him while fighting on the battlefield. "I remember my first deployment to Iraq as a young second Lieutenant," said Dalby. "I was quoting those memory verses I remembered from my youth, especially Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) 'Do not worry about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'" While serving in some of the deadliest regions of war, Lt. Col. Dalby was able to be a force for good: leading Bible studies, ministering to his men and teaching them how to live in relationship with God.  "I mean, this was in Iraq with guys who were going on combat patrols," said Dalby. "So, we'd pray together and open the Word. For 7-months I got to lead a Bible study in my unit." (CBN) Read More Here

- Abba, we lift PRAISE and GRATITUDE for 'Tun Tavern Fellowship' bringing spiritual accountability to Marines, while strengthening their faith-walk through discipleship!  Bless Lt. Col. Dalby and all Marine 'missionaries' who point believers to Christ. May each Marine grow in their relationship with You and in connection with other fellow believers serving our nation. Continue to help each one become more in love with Jesus having the desire to disciple others through reading God's Word, lifting prayers and praising the Lord together. Place Your hedge of protection around them, whether in the U.S. or overseas, and cause Your Holy Spirit Fire to fall upon our brave Marines so they may boldly proclaim Christ to those You place in their paths! In Jesus mighty and powerful Name-Amen and Amen.

- "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42)
Thought for the Day
"The mouth of the righteous is a well of life,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked."

(Proverbs 10:11)
A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

He Keeps Me Singing

Words and Music: Luther Bridgers

Scripture: He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:3

Lyrics:
There’s within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee; peace, be still,
In life’s constant ebb and flow.

Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know,
Fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.

All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumbering chords again.

Refrain

Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting ’neath His sheltering wing,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.

Refrain

Though sometimes He leads through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.

Refrain

Soon He’s coming back to welcome me,
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown,
I shall reign with Him on high.
