Supreme Court Rules IRS Can Secretly Grab Bank Records of Outside Parties
|
|
The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously in a delinquent taxpayer case that it is lawful for the IRS to secretly summons the bank records of third parties.
In other words, the nation’s highest court recognized that the Internal Revenue Service is not required to notify third parties who are not under investigation when seeking a summons for banking records thought to be relevant to the tax delinquency of another person.
One lawyer who briefed the Supreme Court said the new ruling gives the IRS “startlingly broad authority to pry into the financial records of people who may be only remotely connected to a delinquent taxpayer.”
The ruling, a victory for the Biden administration, came after the administration’s attempts to strengthen IRS enforcement efforts became an issue in the midterm congressional elections. The Inflation Reduction Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law in August 2022, allocated almost $80 billion to the IRS to hire an extra 87,000 agents. Democrats say the IRS has long been underfunded, but Republicans say the extra money will be used to harass taxpayers. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Abba, we are in total shock! The Supreme Court has opened the door for the IRS to request financial information concerning ANYONE who is remotely connected to another person being investigated for tax delinquency. Worse yet, the IRS is not required to notify this so-called "third party" that their financial information is being shared without their knowledge!!!! Father God, we hoped we could trust the conservatives on the court, but they have betrayed all who believe in protection from government invasion of our privacy without significant cause, without the right to be informed, without the right to be heard!.
Lord, this is unjust on many levels. We are asking you to intervene in this decision, and to open a way for this to be challenged. We are asking that you bring modification of this decision to require the IRS to notify the "third party" of information being shared and legal recourse for this person to secure their personal data. We are asking you to bring conviction to the hearts of ALL the justices of the injustice they have made legal, and for those on the Court who are called by your name, speak to them of how you see this decision. We ask this in the Name of Jehovah Tsidkenu, He is righteous, He is just. AMEN and AMEN

Bank of America Gave FBI Access to Jan. 6 Bank Records Without Customers’ Knowledge: Whistleblowers
|
|
Whistleblowers told Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee that Bank of America gave Jan. 6 connected bank records to the FBI without customers’ knowledge or consent. In their testimony, whistleblowers claimed that the FBI had become “enveloped in politicization” and made several claims of “serious abuses” over an extended period of time.
Among those abuses, whistleblowers said that Bank of America (BOA) had transferred information to the FBI on transactions that took place in Washington on Jan. 6, 2021. Customers were not informed of this data transfer.
In their concluding commentary on the report, House Republicans called the testimony “highly alarming. The FBI seemingly worked with a major financial institution to receive, without legal process, financial records about Americans … This invasion of the privacy of American citizens is highly concerning.”
The latest allegations of FBI misconduct come amid a push to impeach FBI Director Christopher Wray spearheaded by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) over continuing concerns that the FBI has become weaponized for partisan purposes.

- Abba, tyranny, deceptive practices and arrogance in our government are forcing us to live in a place that no longer looks like or feels like the country we so love. The FBI has illegally requested J6 participants' personal account information from Bank of America. Bank of America, instead of standing in integrity by saying, "no", walked all over the rights of their customers providing that information without the knowledge or approval of those J6 participants. Bank of America has proven that all who use their bank can no longer trust that their personal information will be safeguarded or protected..
Father God, all we can do is ask you to fight for us when we cannot fight for ourselves because we don't even know what we need to be fought for!. We ask that you release your angelic warriors to fight for and protect us, to push the demonic attack back into the place of darkness that it came from. We ask that every person involved in this hijack of people's banking information be identified and brought to accountability.
Lord, we ask that the FBI be held accountable for attacking those they view as political opponents when no crime has been committed. We ask that you shine your light on every instance where that has happened and that each person involved be held accountable and taken out of any place giving them power or authority over innocent people. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus! AMEN and AMEN.

Ukraine’s Zelenskyy at center of last day of high-level diplomacy as G7 looks to punish Russia
|

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived Saturday in Japan for talks with the leaders of the world’s most powerful democracies, a personal appearance meant to galvanize global attention as the nations ratcheted up pressure on Moscow for its 15-month invasion of Ukraine.
Bolstering international support is a key priority as Ukraine prepares for what’s seen as a major push to take back territory seized by Russia in the war that began in February last year. Zelenskyy’s in-person visit to the G7 summit comes just hours after the United States agreed to allow training on potent American-made fighter jets, laying the groundwork for their eventual transfer to Ukraine.
Host nation Japan said Zelenskyy’s inclusion stems from his “strong wish” to participate in talks with the bloc and other countries that will influence his nation’s defense against Russia. (AP News) Read more here.

- Abba, the G7 meeting appears to have focused on Ukraine with other priorities taking something of a backseat to President Zelenskyy being there. President Biden promised Ukraine another 375 million dollars in meetings with Zelenskyy during the 3 day conference. He also committed to providing training for Ukraine pilots on our sophisticated jets that we will ultimately send to them.
Lord, we ask that decisions and commitments made by the US and the other countries in attendance be based on your heart for each country represented. We trust that you provided wisdom. knowledge and understanding when they discussed topics of great importance such as AI, poverty, and nuclear proliferation as we asked you to do before these heads of state came together.
We thank you that Japan and South Korea worked to try and bring healing to old wounds and anger between them. But mostly Father God, we thank you that you are God, that you are sovereign over all in authority in our world. We thank you that we can trust you to do what is best for each nation. We give you all honor, glory and praise, in Jesus' name. AMEN

1. After months of delays, Netanyahu receives invitation to visit UAE for world summit - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday was formally invited to visit the United Arab Emirates, after months of delays in securing his first official trip to the Gulf country as premier.
The invitation is not for an Israel-specific trip, however, but rather for Netanyahu to attend the COP28 climate summit in Dubai along with dozens of other foreign leaders. The summit will not take place until the end of November.
An invitation was presented to the prime minister by UAE Ambassador to Israel Mohamed Al Khaja, who also delivered one during a separate meeting with President Isaac Herzog.

2. Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir agree to NIS 250M for Negev and Galilee - Israel National News
A major obstacle to the passage of the State budget was overcome after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on an increased budget for the Negev and the Galilee.
At the end of a meeting which lasted several hours, it was agreed that an additional NIS 250 million would be provided for the Negev and the Galilee Ministry.
The source of the budget will be from the budget surpluses of all government ministries for 2023. If there are no budget surpluses, no funds will be transferred to the ministry. (Read more)

3. Israel Speeds up Aliyah Process, Once You’re in Israel - Jewish Press
Israel’s government decided on Sunday to issue national identity cards to new olim (immigrants), at its main airport in a move to reduce crowds and wait times at the Ministry of the Interior (Misrad Hapnim) offices.
Starting in June, new immigrants arriving in Israel will receive ID cards at Ben-Gurion Airport through a branch office of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
This will eliminate the need for immigrants to go through the difficult process of scheduling an appointment at the Ministry of the Interior. (Read more)

4. Jerusalem municipality planning new Jewish neighborhood inside Abu Dis - JNS
(May 22, 2023 / JNS)
The Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee gave initial approval last week to the construction of a Jewish neighborhood in the Arab village of Abu Dis on the eastern outskirts of Israel’s capital.
The neighborhood, to have 400 housing units, will be named Kedmat Tzion. Ten Jewish families currently live there in three buildings purchased by Ateret Cohanim, a nonprofit that encourages Jewish presence in eastern, mostly Arab, parts of Jerusalem.
Abu Dis, located east of the Silwan/Shiloach neighborhood and the City of David archaeological site, partly falls within Jerusalem but the majority of it is in Area B of Judea, under Palestinian Authority civil supervision and Israeli security control. (Read more)

5. Jewish leaders to Europe: Seek our help when planning for our communities - World Israel News
The European Jewish Association (EJA) delivered a straightforward message to Europe’s leaders at its annual conference, held in Porto, Portugal on May 15: When planning for the future of Europe’s Jews, let us have a say.
The conference’s title, “Shaping the Future of European Jewry Together,” captured that message.
“As we meet, leaders of the European Union and European governments are discussing and moving forward with their plans to combat antisemitism and plan the future of European Jewry,” said EJA chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin in his opening remarks. “But how many of you were directly contacted by a diplomat or politician to ask: ‘What do you think should be the plan?”
“As you can see, not nearly enough,” said Margolin after a show of hands. A situation where European leaders didn’t consult the “more than one hundred representatives” of Jewish communities in attendance was unacceptable, he added. (Read more)

1. ‘We Need Trans People!’: Dem State Senator Goes On Screaming Rant Before Trans Bill Vote - Daily Caller
A Democratic state senator in Nebraska screamed and pounded on the lectern before a Friday vote to ban sex changes for children in Nebraska.
“Transgender people belong here! We need trans people! We love trans people!” Democratic state Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh screamed repeatedly in a video posted on Twitter.
“You matter. You matter and I am fighting for you. I will not stop,” Cavanaugh also said during the debate on LB 574, which bans sex-change operations on minors and also places restrictions on abortion. “I will not stop today, I will not stop tomorrow. You are loved. You matter. You belong here.”
Legislators in Nebraska’s unicameral state legislature passed LB 574 by a 33-15 vote Friday. Republican Gov. Jim Pillen of Nebraska is expected to sign the measure into law.

2. Supreme Court Declines To Block Illinois’ So-Called ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban - Daily Caller
The Supreme Court denied the National Association for Gun Rights’ request for an emergency injunction against Illinois’ “assault weapons” ban.
Illinois passed a ban on semiautomatic firearms and magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds for long guns and 15 rounds for handguns in January, shortly after the City of Naperville’s similar ban on the sale of “assault weapons” took effect, prompting swift legal action from gun store owners and gun rights groups. The National Association for Gun Rights, along with a gun shop owner, filed an emergency application for an injunction pending appeal on April 26 with Justice Amy Coney Barret, who oversees petitions from the Seventh Circuit.
“This is an exceedingly simple case,” the National Association for Gun Rights wrote in its application. “The Second Amendment protects arms that are commonly possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes, especially self-defense in the home.”
Following the Supreme Court’s order, the law will remain in place for now while legal challenges continue. (Read more)

3. Texas Gov. Abbott Sends Bus Of Migrants To Another Dem-Run City - Daily Caller
Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent a bus of migrants to the sanctuary city of Denver, Colorado, making it the fourth destination of his effort to send transports to Democrat-run cities.
Abbott sent his first bus of migrants to Washington, D.C. in April 2022, followed by New York City, Chicago and Philadelphia. Abbott has sent the transports amid record migrant encounters at the southern border, and, now, with the end of Title 42, a Trump-era expulsion order, on May 11.
“Texas’ overwhelmed and overrun border communities should not have to shoulder the flood of illegal immigration due to President Biden’s reckless open border policies, like his mass catch and release without court dates or any way to track them,” Abbott said in a statement Thursday. (Read more)

4. Biden-Harris Campaign Circulates Memo Revealing Key 2024 Battle Plans - Daily Caller
A campaign memo for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ reelection bid pitched their campaign strategy to potential backers as they head into the 2024 election.
The Biden-Harris team will focus their campaign on highlighting perceived Democratic wins under their administration in the 2022 midterms and key 2023 elections, while arguing they have retained and can expand their electoral base, according to the memo. The campaign will invest in states that they won in 2020, as well as those they believe they can flip in 2024.
“Our campaign is being smart, strategic, and maximizing the tremendous foundation of existing resources and infrastructure that allowed Democrats to defy expectations in 2022,” Rodriguez wrote. “This reelection cycle, the Biden-Harris campaign is able to leverage Party infrastructure from Day One, including tools, technology and people, which means we aren’t starting from scratch.” (Read more)

5. GOP Senators Introduce Legislation To End Government Collusion With Big Tech - Daily Caller
Republican Tennessee Sen. Bill Hagerty introduced legislation Thursday that would force the Biden administration to disclose its requests for Big Tech companies to censor certain content.
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the legislation, entitled the Disclose Government Censorship Act. The bill would require the government to disclose the extent to which it attempts to urge Big Tech to engage in censorship that would violate the First Amendment. The bill would also require Executive and Legislative Branch officers and employees to publicly disclose, within seven days, any communications with technology platforms regarding action or potential action to restrict certain speech.
“The collusion between the Biden administration and Big Tech that has come to light over the last two years is not only disturbing but inconsistent with the government’s constitutional role in American life,” Hagerty told the Caller before introducing the legislation.
“The purpose of the First Amendment is to prevent government from suppressing speech with which it disagrees. If the federal government is attempting to end-run the Constitution by secretly working with tech platforms to censor Americans’ speech, the American people deserve to know. Requiring transparency will ensure that the government cannot work secretly to censor Americans,” Hagerty added.

6. Mount Etna eruption halts flights to Sicily's Catania airport - Reuters
ROME, May 21 (Reuters) - Flights serving the eastern Sicilian city of Catania were halted on Sunday after an eruption from nearby Mount Etna spewed volcanic ash onto its runways, airport authorities said.
The 3,330 metre (10,925 ft) high volcano can burst into spectacular action several times a year, firing lava and ash high over the Mediterranean island. The last major eruption was in 1992.
Flights to and from Catania, a popular tourist destination, would be suspended until normal safety conditions could be guaranteed, the airport said on Twitter.
Cars in the city were covered in a layer of dark gritty dust, images in the Italian media showed. (Read more)

7. India’s Manipur remains tense weeks after 400 churches were burned, 60 Christians killed - Christian Post
The northeastern Indian state of Manipur remains in a tense state of unease weeks after a devastating spate of violence led to the deaths of at least 73 individuals, most of them Christians, and the burning, damage or destruction of nearly 400 churches.
Kuldeep Singh, a security advisor to the Manipur Government, told reporters Saturday that 488 weapons and about 6,800 rounds of ammunition looted amid the strife had been retrieved, Ukhrul Times reported.
The Assam Rifles additionally recovered 22 pounds (10 kg) of explosives and 2,000 BIPL detonators.
The largely Christian tribals belonging to the Kuki-Zo communities, who reside on the hills of Churachandpur district, say two groups of the predominantly Hindu Meitei community — Arambai Tengoll, also known as “black-shirts,” and Meitei Leepun — were behind the violence.
Meiteis are primarily settled in the Imphal Valley.
The violence, which began on May 3, primarily engulfed the Imphal Valley and Churachandpur, causing at least four days of turmoil. The region remains fraught with tension as authorities fear possible reprisal attacks due to the significant accumulation of weapons within both involved communities.
The Indian Express earlier reported that over 1,000 weapons and 10,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen from the Manipur Police Training College, two local police stations, and an IRB battalion camp in Imphal by members of the Meitei ethnic group. The report also noted, without stating specific figures, that police stations in Churachandpur were attacked and looted by the Kuki community. (Read more)

8. 'This is Our City:' Thousands of Israelis March with Flags to Celebrate Jerusalem Day - CBN
JERUSALEM, Israel – It was 56 years ago when Israeli paratroopers captured the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount during the 1967 Six-Day War. Thursday marked Jerusalem Day, when Israelis celebrate that history with a flag march.
From the gathering point of the march in west Jerusalem, tens of thousands of people made their way through the streets and into the Old City on their way to the Western Wall – all celebrating the momentous day just 19 years after the country became a modern nation when the city was reunified and Jews could go once again to the parts of the city that had been denied them under Jordanian rule over east Jerusalem.
During the '67 war, Israeli Colonel Motta Gur announced to the world, "The Temple Mount is in our hands!" It marked the first time in more than 2,000 years that their capital was in the hands of the Jewish people.
Former General Uzi Dayan told CBN News, "Actually, I was here in ’67. I was a very young fighter and at the ending of the Six-Day War, they told us, 'You can go home.' And nobody went home. We went to our real home: to Jerusalem. And we were wandering around, and it was like a dream. So, it’s nice to come here.” (Read more)

The Wilderness Experience And You

Have you, or are you having, a “Wilderness Experience” during your life. It’s a time when you look around and it seems dry and parched and nothing you do seems to change it. In my time on earth, I believe everyone I’ve known has had a wilderness experience. Many are having it now. There may be challenges in relationships with family members. There may be anxiety over the state of the nation. Perhaps there are nagging financial issues. Health may be a threatening concern. It might be part or all of the above. Rich or poor, we all experience these times in our lives. But be encouraged. Each day brings you closer to the end of the dessert. And Christ promises, “I am with you always.”
We often question why we are going through the wilderness. If we just had understanding, it would help us. Christ said in Matthew 5:44-45, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. That you may be children of your Father which is in heaven: for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” And it’s true. Christ spent forty days in the wilderness before he began his ministry. Abraham left his home to travel through the wilderness. Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, experienced the wilderness because of famine or family feuds or jealousy or preparation. The entire nation of Israel spent a generation in the wilderness. Mexico Raises Alert Level on Volcano

(Bloomberg) -- Mexico raised its alert level on the Popocatepetl volcano Sunday following in increase in tremors and explosions of ash that shuttered airports in nearby Mexico City and Puebla.
A panel of experts recommended raising the alert level to “yellow phase three” from “yellow phase two” on the volcano, located 70 km (44 miles) southeast of Mexico City, the country’s head of civil protection, Laura Velazquez, said in a press conference.
The increase leaves a “stoplight” one level away from red. Officials were ordered to make checks on evacuation routes and emergency shelters in case of need, Velazquez said.
The state capital of Puebla was covered by ash for the first time in around a decade and its airport was closed on Sunday, Milenio TV reported.
“We are in a phase of alert, not alarm,” Puebla’s governor Sergio Salomon said in a video message posted on Twitter. He said evacuations weren’t required but that residents close to the volcano should be prepared. Read More

With the word “revival” increasingly used to describe massive, spirit-filled gatherings of Christians on college campuses and at other locations across America, singer Colton Dixon is encouraged. The “Build a Boat” singer said he believes one of the positive and timeless appeals of the Christian faith is the Bible’s countercultural message, something that transcends and permeates time. “Even when Jesus was here, it was counterculture,” Dixon said. “I don’t know that that’s ever going to necessarily change. Even when Billy Graham was around, it was counterculture.” He added, “That was part of the appeal.”
Dixon, who released his new EP “Canvas” April 28, showered praise upon the popular film “Jesus Revolution” — a movie depicting events surrounding the Jesus movement of the late 1960s and 1970s — and the Christian gatherings breaking out earlier this year at Asbury University, among other locations. “I’m always cheering on anything that’s going on that’s promoting Jesus,” he said, referencing popular worship leader Sean Feucht’s praise and worship gatherings held during the pandemic. “Just seeing [Feucht] … having these worship gatherings, it was just really cool to see people getting set free.” Dixon continued, “Regardless of what you think about it, people were getting delivered.” (CBN) Read more here.
