Massive Drug Smuggling Tunnel Found Between Mexico And US

Authorities discovered a large cross-border drug smuggling tunnel in California, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California announced Monday.

The tunnel, linking Otay Mesa, California and Tijuana, Mexico, was 1,744 feet long, 61 feet deep and 4 feet in diameter, and had reinforced walls, a rail system and electricity, according to the Attorney’s Office. The tunnel was about 350 feet from the border with Mexico, U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman said during a press conference.

Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) agents discovered the tunnel Friday while on surveillance of a residence that was used for cocaine smuggling in March, according to the Attorney’s Office. As a result of the bust, six people were charged with conspiring to distribute 1,762 pounds of cocaine.

“There is no more light at the end of this narco-tunnel. We will take down every subterranean smuggling route we find to keep illicit drugs from reaching our streets and destroying our families and communities,” Grossman said in a statement.

“The San Diego law enforcement community has multiple investigative task forces that highly prioritize tunnel detection- exemplified by this tunnel discovery by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Diego led Costa Pacifico Money Laundering Task Force. The San Diego law enforcement community throughout the years has consistently shown its ability to detect and remediate tunnels while bringing those responsible to justice,” HSI San Diego Special Agent in Charge Chad Plantz said in a statement. - Glory to God for this discovery!  Let this evil tunnel system be the first of many to be discovered.  Reveal them Father and let every one be destroyed, in Jesus name!  We pray for a fiery wall to stop the drugs from flowing into this nation and justice upon every single dealer, in Jesus name.

- "'I will destroy the winter house along with the summer house; The houses of ivory shall perish, And the great houses shall have an end,' says the Lord."  (Amos 3:15)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Iran Working on 1,000 Centrifuges at New Underground Site, ‘Weeks Away’ From Material for Bomb, Israel Says - Algemeiner

Iran is seeking to finish the production and installation of 1,000 advanced IR6 centrifuges, including at a new facility being built at an underground site near Natanz, Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Tuesday.

“Iran continues to accumulate irreversible knowledge and experience in the development, research, production and operation of advanced centrifuges,” Gantz stated. “It stands just a few weeks away from accumulating fissile material that will be sufficient for a first bomb.”

Gantz warned that Iran holds 60 kg of 60 percent enriched uranium, produces metallic uranium at an enrichment level of 20 percent, and is preventing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from accessing its production facilities.

“The amount of long-term strategic weapons held by Iran has increased significantly in the past year,” Gantz cautioned. “The price of stopping Iran is now lower than it will be in a year. (Read more)

2. In first, Israeli military to hold drill simulating widescale strike on Iran - Times of Israel

For the first time, the Israeli Air Force will practice for a widescale strike in Iran later this month, during the military’s major Chariots of Fire exercise, The Times of Israel has learned.

In light of growing uncertainty regarding a return by Iran to the 2015 nuclear deal, amid long-stalled negotiations with the United States, the Israel Defense Forces in the past year has ramped up its efforts to prepare a credible military threat against Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

The large-scale air maneuvers, including a simulated attack on Iranian nuclear targets, will take place in Cyprus during the fourth and final week of the monthlong exercise, starting May 29. The Chariots of Fire drill, which involves nearly all units of the IDF, has been focusing on training for fighting on Israel’s northern borders, including against the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon. (Read more)

3. PM Bennett: 'Whoever threatens Israeli civilians or soldiers will pay'- Israel National News

The Prime Minister held an operational assessment and was then briefed on counter-terrorism operations in the Efraim Brigade area in particular and in Judea and Samaria in general.

"I have just finished a visit to the Efraim Brigade with the Chief-of-Staff and the senior officers of Central Command," Bennett said. "My directive is clear: Strike at the terrorists wherever they are with every kind of weaponry."

"We are giving full backing to the IDF and Israel Police to strike at every terrorist – in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and anywhere else in the country. Whoever raises a hand to an Israeli civilian or IDF soldier – will pay the price." (Read more)

4. PM says 'settlement, security and aliyah' form Zionist response to terrorism - Israel Hayom

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Tuesday welcomed a recent decision to expand settlements in what was his first visit to a community beyond the Green Line since taking office.

During a visit to the settlement of Elkana, he cast the expansion of settlements as a response to recent Palestinian violence. The Palestinians view settlement construction as the main obstacle to peace because it further undermines their hopes for an independent state on lands Israel seized through war.

"In the face of enemy violence, the Zionist answer has always been settlement, security and aliyah," Bennett said. "Last week we approved here in Elkana, to my understanding, the largest volume of construction at once, since the establishment of the town." (Read more)

5. Serious COVID cases in Israel drop below 100 for first time in months - Times of Israel

The number of serious COVID cases in Israel dropped to 99, according to new data from the Health Ministry released on Monday morning, marking the first time in months the figure has dipped below 100.

The last time the caseload of seriously ill COVID patients dropped below 100 was December 31.

Out of the 99 cases, 47 patients were reported to be on ventilators and four are connected to an ECMO machine. The drop in serious cases has continued despite Israel lifting its indoor mask mandate on April 24, leaving the requirement for face coverings in place only in hospitals and old age homes and aboard aircraft. 6. Bold and historic conference in Saudi Arabia brings together leaders of several faiths for first time in the kingdom - AllArabNews

Last week, the Muslim World League hosted a historic event both for its content and its location: The Forum on Common Values among Religious Followers drew some 100 leaders from several faiths together in Saudi Arabia, making it the first multi-faith event hosted in the kingdom.

Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist religious leaders gathered to “explore shared values and a common global vision for interfaith cooperation,” according to a press release from the event.

The event was the brainchild of Sheikh Mohammad Al-Issa, secretary general of the Muslim World League. “We reject any wrong or deliberate interpretation that undermines coexistence between followers of religions,” said Al-Issa.

. . . Al-Issa – a founding member of the Advisory Board for ALL ARAB NEWS – led the first-ever delegation of Muslim leaders to visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in Poland in recent years.

He heads the Muslim World League (MWL), the world’s largest non-governmental Muslim organization based in Mecca. The organization aims to counter the teaching of radical Islamists and violent extremists, and to encourage Muslim clerics in Saudi Arabia and around the world to teach only moderate Islam.

Since taking the helm in 2016, Al-Issa has also been on a mission to “build bridges” with Jews and Christians.

At the conference in Riyadh this month, Al-Issa drew together influential religious leaders in order to “build humanitarian partnerships for a more cooperative and peaceful world and more harmonious communities.” (Read more)

1. UFO hearing: Pentagon reveals 11 near misses with unidentified objects - Fox News

The Pentagon acknowledged Tuesday that while U.S. assets have never collided with anything the military categorizes as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), this has almost happened on nearly a dozen occasions.

Deputy Director of Navy Intelligence Scott Bray revealed this at a House Intelligence Committee hearing on UFOs,  when asked by Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., to confirm that there have never been any crashes.

Krishnamoorthi then asked if the U.S. has ever detected communication signals of any kind from these objects, and Bray said they had not. Bray also confirmed, however, that the U.S. has never tried to communicate with them. (Read more)

- Well Father, we thank You that there has never been a crash of any sort with the unidentified aerial phenomena.  We know that there is nothing new under the sun and since You created the universe, You know exactly what is happening in these situations.  We pray for greater wisdom and understanding, in Jesus name.

- "And He said, 'What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.'"  (Mark 7:20)

2. US Consumer Debt Accelerates Towards $16 Trillion - Zero Hedge

According to the Federal Reserve (Fed), U.S. consumer debt is approaching a record-breaking $16 trillion. Critically, as Visual Capitalist's Marcus Lu details below, the rate of increase in consumer debt for the fourth quarter of 2021 was also the highest seen since 2007. This graphic provides context into the consumer debt situation using data from the end of 2021.

Home prices have experienced upward pressure since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is evidenced by the Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index, which has increased by 34% since the start of the pandemic.

Driving this growth are various pandemic-related impacts. For example, the cost of materials such as lumber have seen enormous spikes. We’ve covered this story in a previous graphic, which showed how many homes could be built with $50,000 worth of lumber. In most cases, these higher costs are passed on to the consumer.

Another key factor here is mortgage rates, which fell to all-time lows in 2020. When rates are low, consumers are able to borrow in larger quantities. This increases the demand for homes, which in turn inflates prices. (Read more)

- Holy One, we turn to You in this time of unbelievable economic uncertainty and overwhelming inflation.  You know where it comes from and where it needs to go.  We fix our eyes on You and trust that You will bring us through these challenges as we stay connected in Your will and Your way.

- "Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me."  (Micah 7:7)

3. House Appropriations Committee preps $28M emergency bill to address baby formula shortage - Fox Business

House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., is addressing the ongoing baby formula shortage afflicting the nation, introducing an emergency measure that would provide $28 million to the FDA to deal with the crisis and prevent future ones.

“The stories of mothers and fathers struggling to find formula and the images of empty store shelves are heartbreaking," DeLauro said in a statement. "Parents and caretakers across the country cannot wait – they need our support now. This bill takes important steps to restore supply in a safe and secure manner."

DeLauro's office said in a press release that the funding would help the FDA "acquire better data on the infant formula marketplace," and that the bill "strengthens the workforce focused on formula issues, and increases FDA inspection staff." (Read more)

- Most High King, this shortage had a genesis somewhere – may the obstruction be removed so that the formula is produced again, as it has been.  Throwing millions of dollars to a government agency is not a solution.  Father, would you cause the producers to kick production into high gear and the shipping agents to start moving the formula around the clock.  Let the citizens of this nation do the job of solving this problem quickly and efficiently, in Jesus name.

- "'And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,' Says the Lord of hosts;"  (Malachi 3:11)

4. In opening statements, Durham team says Sussmann used FBI to create 'October surprise' - Just The News

In opening statements Tuesday in the trial for 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, Special Counsel John Durham’s team alleged Sussmann used the FBI as "a political tool" to create an "October surprise" against then-candidate Donald Trump.

The prosecution team also said Sussman, a former federal prosecutor, tried to "manipulate" the FBI in his September 2016 talk with the agency, weeks before the 2016 presidential election, by pitching a Trump-Russia collusion narrative.

The trial proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia follow jury selection Monday and begin Durham's first trial in his probe into the origins of the now-discredited collusion narrative. (Read more)

- Father, we put a hedge of containment around this court case, so that it is brought fully under Your authority and righteousness.  Do not allow deceptions to squeeze in or out of this case, but let everything stand under complete justice.  Strengthen John Durham and team and let them act with Godly wisdom, bringing forth victory for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus name.

- "'Though you ascend as high as the eagle, And though you set your nest among the stars, From there I will bring you down,' says the Lord."  (Obadiah 4)

5. State medical boards urge punishment, reeducation for doctors spreading COVID 'misinformation' - Just The News

State medical boards wary of micromanaging what doctors can say about COVID-19 — from the utility of masks to treatments such as ivermectin — now have to contend with their national organization.

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), which cosponsors the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination, approved an ethics committee report on "misinformation and disinformation" at its annual meeting.

It urges the group's members to add explicit policies to clarify "expectations" about what doctors can say and do related to COVID, citing "the increased prevalence of, and harm caused by, physician-disseminated misinformation in this ongoing pandemic." (Read more)

- We absolutely renounce this in the name of Jesus!  We bind every plan of the medical managers to take control of the fragile relationship between patient and doctor and we release an overwhelming presence of angelic warriors to push back on this Federation, in Jesus name.  We call for a full stop to the communist agenda of re-education and thought control, and we remind our nation that every citizen is afforded the privilege of freedom of speech and we will stand firm on this and reject every attempt to take away this right, in Jesus name.

- "'Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria:  "He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it.  By the way that he came, By the same shall he return: . . . "'" (Isaiah 37:33-34a)

6. Tlaib, Squad introduce resolution recognizing 'catastrophe' of Israel's creation - Fox News

House members led by Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., introduced a resolution Monday calling for U.S. recognition of the "Nakba," a term meaning "catastrophe" that is typically used by Palestinians to refer to the establishment of the state of Israel.

The resolution was submitted a week and a half after Israeli Independence Day, which coincides with Palestinian commemoration of Nakba Day. It calls for the U.S. to "commemorate the Nakba through official recognition and remembrance," while claiming that this "refers not only to a historical event but to an ongoing process of Israel's expropriation of Palestinian land and its dispossession of the Palestinian people that continues to this day."

The resolution claims that Palestinians opposed the U.N.’s 1947 recommendation to partition the territory then known as Palestine into two states, one for Arabs and one for Jews. It states that prior to Israel declaring independence on May 14, 1948, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had fled their homes "often after attacks by Zionist militias." It does not make reference to the use of some of those areas by invading Arab nations to attack Israel. (Read more)

- Holy One of Israel, we stand opposed to this resolution put forth by an elected representative who does not speak for the people of the United States of America.  We shackle this resolution in the spirit and cast off every remnant of hatred that emanates from it and its author(s), in Jesus name.  We loose the light of Christ into our relationship with Israel and pray for salvation to come to the Palestinian people.

- "And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness to God."  (Romans 6:13)

7. Biden transgender health mandate blocked by federal court in Christian alliance's appeal - Fox News

A federal district court Monday temporarily blocked the enforcement of two Biden administration mandates forcing both nonprofit and for-profit religious employers and health care providers to pay for and perform transgender medical procedures and counseling even if these measures violate the employers' or providers' religious beliefs.

District Judge Daniel M. Traynor of the U.S. District Court of North Dakota ruled that the Christian Employers Alliance "has shown a likelihood of success on the merits" in its case. “No government agency ought to be in the business of evaluating the sincerity of another’s religious beliefs," Traynor wrote.

The Christian Employers Alliance, represented by the Christian law firm Alliance Defending Freedom, claims that the Biden administration violated its free exercise rights under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) and the free exercise clause of the First Amendment, and its free speech rights. (Read more)

 - Praise You Jesus that this federal judge blocked the unacceptable overreach from the Biden administration.  We ask You to continue to stop, hinder and obstruct every attempt to force the transgender, human mutilation agenda on the citizens of this nation.  You have beautifully created humanity in Your image and likeness and we repudiate all human efforts at twisting that up into some man-made caricature, in Jesus name.

- "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well."  (Psalm 139:14)

8. FDA authorizes Pfizer booster shots for kids ages 5-11 - Fox Business

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Tuesday that it had amended the emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, allowing the use of a single booster dose in children ages 5 to 11.

The shot would be given at least five months after completion of a primary series with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

"The FDA is authorizing the use of a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children 5 through 11 years of age to provide continued protection against COVID-19," FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf said in a statement."

To make its decision, the FDA said it analyzed immune response data in a subset of children from an ongoing randomized placebo-controlled trial that supported the Oct. 2021 authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech primary series in the same age group. (Read more)

- Father God, we cry out for truth.  We ask You Holy King to protect our children from these chemicals that have not had proper animal testing and trials done to prove them safe.  Children will recover from covid-19 at well over a 99% rate according to two years of world-wide data.  Please give parents the wisdom to protect their children from these injections, in Jesus name.

- "Look upon me and be merciful to me, As Your custom is toward those who love Your name."  (Psalm 119:132)

9. Ukrainian defenders emerge from Mariupol ruins to uncertain fate as siege ends - Reuters

More than 250 Ukrainian fighters surrendered to Russian forces at the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol after weeks of desperate resistance, bringing an end to the most devastating siege of Russia's war in Ukraine and allowing President Vladimir Putin to claim a rare victory in his faltering campaign.

Reuters saw buses leave the steelworks, where defenders had held out in a complex of bunkers and tunnels, in a convoy escorted by Russian armoured vehicles. Five arrived in the Russian-held town of Novoazovsk, where Moscow said the wounded would be treated. What will happen to the fighters was unclear. The Kremlin said Putin had personally guaranteed the prisoners would be treated according to international standards.

But a Reuters witness said seven buses carrying Ukrainian fighters from the Azovstal garrison arrived at a former penal colony in the Russian-controlled town of Olenivka near Donetsk.

TASS news agency said a Russian committee planned to question the soldiers, many of them members of the Azov Battalion, as part of an investigation into what Moscow calls "Ukrainian regime crimes".(Read more)

- Holy One, would You cause the Russians to truly act according to international standards and treat the Ukrainian prisoners civilly.  Jesus, we beseech You to bring this nightmare to a screeching halt.  Please change or remove Putin from his aggression and compel him to come to the table of diplomacy so that an acceptable agreement can be made between these two countries.  No more escalation! in Jesus' name.

- "Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!"  (Psalm 31:19)

10. Ukraine deploys new US howitzers at front lines of war - Jerusalem Post

Ukraine has deployed many of its new US M-777 howitzers at the front lines and Washington has delivered all but one of the 90 artillery pieces they were due to send, the US embassy in Kyiv said on Sunday.

The M-777 howitzer consignment is part of a huge outlay of weapons from Washington to help Ukraine fend off Russia's invasion, which began on Feb. 24. The M-777 is seen as particularly significant because of its long-range and accuracy.

The US embassy reposted a Ukrainian military video of Kyiv's soldiers training to use the weapons. "Up from roughly 200 [trained personnel] one week ago,” the officer added, 310 troops were trained on US-made M777 howitzers.

Ukrainian soldiers began howitzer training at a German artillery school last week, where they will spend the next weeks learning how to operate the artillery weapons before they are shipped for active use to Ukraine, German media reported. (Read more)

- Father God, we are grateful to know that some of our tax money is being spent to equip these brave soldiers who are fighting for their freedom in Ukraine. We stand
with them, and behind them, in prayer, as they fight to be sure that their nation does
not fall under a Communist regime once again. They know what it was to live under
the brutality of Josef Stalin, and they REFUSE to live that way again. PRAISE GOD
for their example to the rest of the world!

- "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." (John 8:36)
The Daily Jot

Are You Waxing Cold?

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 17, 2022

For centuries, many have wondered if they were the generation that would see the return of Christ. When you look at the headlines around the world, one can entertain the idea that this generation is living in what could be considered “the beginning of sorrows” described by Christ in his Olivet Discourse. Contemplate some of these headlines: New generation of killer: Shedding blood with internet winks, memes, livestreams; California church shooter motivated by anti-Taiwanese hate; Middle schoolers sued for sexual harassment for not using preferred pronouns; Pro-abortion protestor to pro-lifer: I don’t love abortion, I just f****** hate you; Russia moves nukes to Finland border. You can’t make this stuff up.

As a student of history, I am constantly reminded of the cruelty of mankind. Wars, persecutions, genocides, infanticides, tortures—you name it and mankind has done it to his fellow man. Christ said in his Matthew 24 chronology of the end times that there would be wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences and earthquakes marking the beginning of sorrows. He said that his followers would be hated and persecuted for his name’s sake; that there shall be betrayals, hate and deception. Does any of this ring a bell just based on today’s headlines? If we are not living in the beginning of sorrows, we certainly must be standing on its precipice. One thing for certain, each day that these things escalate and Christ does not return means that it is only going to get worse according to prophecy.

116-year-old ‘ghost tracks’ unearthed following
pesky coastal storm
The storm, which hammered the mid-Atlantic beaches for days on end beginning on Mother’s Day weekend, helped unearth a World War I-era relic.

Mysterious World War I-era railroad tracks hidden in the Atlantic Ocean? It's not quite the plot of a thriller novel, but rather an actual discovery found along a beach in Cape May, New Jersey, in the wake of a fierce coastal storm last week.

Liz Goldsmith was walking along the shores between Sunset and Higbee Beach last Tuesday when the ocean – fueled by the combination of the storm, coastal erosion and the daily low tide – unearthed one of the area’s rarest finds. The tracks, which date back to the early 20th century, were seen in 2014 for the first time in over 80 years and have since been revealed by different weather events in subsequent years, including by a couple of big storms in 2018.

Nicknamed "ghost tracks," the tracks were used to support sand mining and World War I munitions testing, according to NJ.com. The Cape May Sand Company also used the rails from 1905 to 1936 to remove sand from the beach and turn it into glass or cement.

The Good News Corner
Boy released by kidnapper after singing gospel music
Earlier this month, police say a man kidnapped then nine-year-old Willie Myrick from his southwest Atlanta driveway. He allegedly drove the boy around for some time before dropping him off unharmed in East Point. But Willie's actions during those terrifying three hours are inspiring people around the country. Willie says he sang the gospel song Every Praise until the man let him go.

Thursday evening, community leaders held a meeting in Willie's honor, celebrating his happy ending, but also telling other parents and children what to do if this happens to them. In front of a crowded sanctuary at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Willie recounted the moment he was freed from the car. Willie said while he was singing, the man kept cursing and telling him to shut up before eventually kicking him out. "He opened the door and threw me out," Willie said. "He told me not to tell anyone."

Willie's story traveled fast and soon caught the ear of Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Hezekiah Walker -- the man who performed the song. "It's just emotional to me because you never know who you're going to touch," Walker told 11Alive's Blayne Alexander. Upon hearing the story, Walker made the decision to fly from New York City to Atlanta to meet Willie. "I just wanted to hug him and tell him I love him," Walker said.

Thursday evening, the singer entered the sanctuary of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church to a standing ovation, grabbing Willie into a tight hug as tears streamed down the boy's face. Walker then led the church, and Willie, in singing Every Praise.
