Trump Responds to Durham Report Findings: ‘The American Public Was Scammed’
|
|
A spokesperson from the office of former President Donald Trump on Monday stated that the investigative report released by Special Counsel John Durham “proves” a coordinated effort in the federal government to interfere with the 2016 election.
“WOW! After extensive research, Special Counsel John Durham concludes the FBI never should have launched the Trump-Russia Probe! In other words, the American Public was scammed, just as it is being scammed right now by those who don’t want to see GREATNESS for AMERICA!” Trump, currently a Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential race, wrote in a statement on Truth Social.
“The Durham Report spells out in great detail the Democrat Hoax that was perpetrated upon me and the American people. This is 2020 Presidential Election Fraud, just like ‘stuffing’ the ballot boxes, only more so,” Trump wrote in another statement.

How Wall Street is preparing for possible US debt default
|

NEW YORK/WASHINGTON, May 15 (Reuters) - As talks over raising the U.S. government's $31.4 trillion debt ceiling intensify, Wall Street banks and asset managers have begun preparing for fallout from a potential default.
The financial industry has prepared for such a crisis before, most recently in September 2021. But this time, the relatively short time frame for reaching a compromise has bankers on edge, said one senior industry official.
Citigroup (C.N) CEO Jane Fraser said this debate on the debt ceiling is "more worrying" than previous ones. JPMorgan Chase & CO (JPM.N) CEO Jamie Dimon said the bank is convening weekly meetings on the implications.

Turkey set for historic run-off vote after Erdogan falls just short of majority
|

ANKARA, Turkey (AFP) — Turkey braced Monday for its first election runoff after a night of high drama showed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan edging ahead of his secular rival but failing to secure a first-round win.
Erdogan sounded triumphant as he emerged before a sea of supporters shortly after midnight to proclaim himself ready to lead the nation for another five years.
Almost complete results from Turkey’s most important election of its post-Ottoman era showed Erdogan — in power since 2003 and undefeated in more than a dozen national votes — falling just short of the 50-percent threshold needed to win. (Times of Israel)

1. Israeli Police Reportedly on ‘High Alert’ Ahead of Jerusalem Day Festivities - World Israel News
Some 3,200 forces consisting of Israeli police, Border Police and volunteers will secure annual Jerusalem Day events, including the “flag march,” that are to take place this Thursday, Ma’arivreported.
According to the report, following a situational assessment held by Jerusalem District Police Commander Doron Turgeman, police are on high alert for terror attacks – including missile attacks, though police say there is no “concrete” threat of missiles.
Based on intelligence information and monitoring of social media, 15 suspected of planning to disturb the peace or harm Jerusalem Day events have already reportedly been arrested, while 32 suspects, most resident of eastern Jerusalem, have been detained. (Read more)

2. IDF troops complain they get sent on missions without proper body armor - Israel Hayom
IDF troops serving in Judea and Samaria have been complaining they routinely get sent on missions without life-saving ceramic body armor because of a severe shortage in the military, Israel Hayom has learned. An inquiry made by the newspaper on this issue has revealed that units deployed in other areas have also been affected by this lack of protective gear. According to sources familiar with the details, body armor and additional equipment necessary to save lives are handled at the brigade level, but they too have faced a severe lack of the necessary ceramic armor.
To address this situation, the Judea and Samaria Division has been handing its brigades ceramic body armor on a rotating basis, but this has not solved the situation, as fighters say they are often sent to carry out operations during which only some of them are given the vests. On top of that, they say that since there is no personal protective equipment of that nature, it is also used on a rotating basis for guard duty.
"It's like sending a soldier for a stakeout with a plastic gun," one source told Israel Hayom. "How come there is enough money to fund the Haredim and the yeshivot but not life-saving lives? This is just mind-boggling.". (Read more)

3. Jerusalem man detained for threatening Netanyahu on social media - JNS
(May 16, 2023 / JNS) Police detained a Jerusalem man for questioning on Tuesday on suspicion of inciting violence against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Lahav 433 unit tasked with investigating nationalistic crimes opened an investigation into the suspect in response to threatening comments that he posted on Monday to social media.
“We will revel against Netanyahu and his government and prepare a guillotine for their supporters,” the man wrote in one post.
In another post, he wrote: “Rebel against Netanyahu who will meet his end under the guillotine.” (Read more)

4. Days after two Jews shot dead, Tunisian president compares Israel to Nazis - World Israel News
Two Jewish cousins were among those murdered on May 9 near a Tunisian synagogue. Four days later, Tunisian President Kais Saied compared the Jewish state to Nazi Germany.
“While Tunisians protected Jews during the Holocaust, today elderly, women and children are being bombed in Gaza,” he said.
Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis, called on European governments to condemn Saied’s statement, which he said implies “that the Jews of Tunisia are responsible for the bombing of Gaza.”
“Through such wanton remarks, the president continues to incite further hatred and even attacks against the country’s Jewish community, heaven forbid,” Goldschmidt said. “Since the attack, the Jewish community of Djerba has not been visited or contacted by any members of the government. The Tunisian president together with the relevant authorities should instead be offering support to the Jewish community and working to ensure its safety.” (Read more)

5. Amb. Tom Nides: Saudi-Iran rapprochement has no impact on Saudi-Israel relations - Israel National News
US Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides dismissed concerns that Saudi Arabia's recent rapprochement with regional rival Iran has negative connotations for Israel's growing relationship with the Saudis.
Speaking to i24News, Ambassador Nides said that "the relationship between the Saudis and the Iranians was about the Houthis and the Yemen war."
He said that the US is "happy when things are calm. If the Saudis can have a cold peace with Iran and calm the Yemen situation down ... we're very much in favor of anything that calms things down."
"This has no impact on the ability of the Saudis to have a bilateral relationship with Israel," he declared, adding that the Biden Administration supports the expansion of the 2020 Abraham Accords. (Read more)

1. Public school teachers compile list of parents who dissent from racist liberal curriculum, plan to ‘expose’ them - Life Site
A radical group of “critical race theory” teachers, former teachers, and others in Loudoun County, Virginia, sought to silence parents who objected to school system policies by compiling lengthy lists of their suspected opponents, with the stated purpose to “infiltrate” their groups, use “hackers” to disrupt their communications, and “expose these people publicly.”
The Daily Wire (DW) exposed activities within a 624-member private Facebook group called “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County” that includes local school board members, the county’s Soros-funded prosecutor, school staff, and leftist activists.
“In recent years, Loudoun’s school system has flooded its curricula and policies with racial rhetoric,” Luke Rosiak of DW wrote. It has also “required all staff to undergo ‘Equity in the Center’ training that promoted a sense of injustice and urgency,” while even proposing and then withdrawing “a policy that would ban teachers from disagreeing with the schools’ racial philosophies, even when not on school district property.” (Read more)

2. Yellen: US Default Would Cause 'Worldwide Panic, Runs' - Newsmax
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Tuesday warned that a U.S. default on government debt would leave millions of Americans without income payments, potentially triggering a recession that destroys many American jobs and businesses.
Yellen told a gathering of community bankers that the unprecedented economic and financial crisis would be exacerbated by possible disruptions to the federal government’s operations, including air traffic control, law enforcement, border security and national defense, and telecommunications systems.
She said the accompanying financial crisis could multiply the severity of the downturn, adding, "It is very conceivable that we'd see a number of financial markets break — with worldwide panic triggering margin calls, runs and fire sales." (Read more)

3. Biden issues third veto, this time targets bipartisan solar tariffs bill - Washington Examiner
President Joe Biden issued his third veto Tuesday, sending back to Congress a bill that would end the temporary suspension of tariffs on solar panels and components from some Asian countries. The bill, titled "Procedures Covering Suspension of Liquidation, Duties, and Estimated Duties in Accord with Presidential Proclamation 10414," would undo an emergency waiver Biden issued in the summer of 2022.
Biden's waiver protected certain Asian solar energy companies from anti-dumping and countervailing duties for two years, at which point the president claimed domestic manufacturing would scale up to meet both current demand and his 10-year green transition goals.
The Biden administration had simultaneously warned that some Chinese companies are seeking to bypass existing U.S. tariffs and import bans by selling components to solar companies in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, which then export products to the United States. (Read more)

4. OpenAI CEO admits his biggest fear for AI: ‘It can go quite wrong’ - DML News
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman told a panel of senators Tuesday that his greatest fear as his company develops artificial intelligence capabilities is that is causes major harmful disruption for people, and acknowledged that AI has this potential downside if it isn’t properly regulated.
“My worst fears are that we cause significant – we, the field, the technology industry – cause significant harm to the world,” Altman told a Senate Judiciary subcommittee. “I think that could happen in a lot of different ways. It’s why we started the company.”
“It think if this technology goes wrong, it can go quite wrong and we want to be vocal about that,” he added. “We want to work with the government to prevent that from happening.” He added, “But we try to be very clear-eyed about what the downside case is and the work that we have to mitigate that.” During the hearing, Altman and other key witnesses asked the government to regulate AI more, remarking, “please regulate us.” (Read more)

5. Smuggled Chinese Migrants Apprehended After Boat Landing on Florida Beach - Brietbart
Border Patrol agents in the Miami Sector apprehended a group of Chinese migrants who were smuggled via boat to a beach landing. Border Patrol officials report increases in the smuggling of Chinese migrants in multiple border sectors.
Miami Sector Chief Patrol Agent Walter Slosar tweeted that agents and other law enforcement partners responded to a “suspected maritime smuggling event” on Monday morning. The agents initially apprehended four migrants who were identified as Chinese nationals.
Later that day, the chief updated the report, tweeting that agents apprehended a total of ten Chinese migrants from the incident. The agents turned the migrants over to ICE Homeland Security Investigations for additional investigation and processing. (Read more)

6. Biden, Harris financial disclosures reveal outside sources of income - DML News
The White House on Monday released financial disclosure forms for President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris covering 2022. The disclosures, obtained by Fox News Digital, show little change from the previous year in their respective earnings.
It showed that Biden earned less than $201 in royalties for his 2007 memoir “Promises to Keep” and between $2,501 and $5,000 for his 2017 memoir “Promise Me, Dad.”
Joe and Jill Biden have assets worth between $1.05 million and $2.58 million, and have a mortgage of somewhere between $250,000 and $500,000 on their Delaware home, according to the report.
Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff reported assets totaling $3.42 million and $8.29 million, and they owe between $1 million and $5 million on their home mortgage. (Read more)

7. Pakistani illegal immigrant on FBI terror list arrested at border day after Title 42 ended - Washington Examiner
Border Patrol agents in southeastern Arizona arrested a Pakistani national on the FBI's terrorism watch list who attempted to illegally enter the United States from Mexico last week, according to two federal sources.
Two senior Customs and Border Protection officials in Washington told the Washington Examiner on Monday afternoon that federal law enforcement agents stationed out of the Ajo, Arizona, station nabbed a noncitizen who is a known or suspected terrorist, according to the federal government's data.
The unnamed Pakistani individual crossed only hours after pandemic policy Title 42 had ended and on the same day approximately 700 illegal immigrants were apprehended near Ajo, as the Washington Examiner previously reported. (Read more)

8. IRS whistleblower letter accuses DOJ of retaliation in Hunter Biden probe - DML News
Attorneys for an IRS whistleblower claim the whistleblower’s entire team has been removed from the Hunter Biden probe and have accused the government of illegal retaliation, according to a letter sent to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.
The whistleblower’s attorneys told Congress that the removal was on the order of the Department of Justice.
“Today the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent we represent was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress,” the letter states.
The attorney’s wrote, “He was informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice.” Speaker Kevin McCarthy tweeted Tuesday, “The repeated weaponization of the federal government to attack one political party and protect the other is un-American.@WaysAndMeansGOP will expose any possible cover-up at the IRS, and Republicans will protect the whistleblowers who shine a light on government misconduct.” (Read more)

Last Tuesday the House Oversite Committee announced it would release a memo about how Joe Biden peddled his influence to the tune of at least $10 million in bribes. What should have been the most explosive story was a dud as mainstream news outlets chose not to cover it in deference to two other stories that broke earlier. The mainstream media continued its day-old coverage of the Federal jury defamation and sexual abuse verdict against Donald Trump in the E. Jean Carroll case. Next was the breaking news story of the oft-anticipated 13-count indictment of US Representative George Santos (R-NY) for fraud, lying, and money laundering. Meantime, the Biden bribery story was largely ignored.
While Fox News, Breitbart, New York Post, Epoch Times and several conservative news outlets were leading with the Biden bribery story early Tuesday, other news media continued with day-old news insinuating that Donald Trump raped E. Jean Carroll. By 1:30 pm EST, CNN, Drudge, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, and NBC were all carrying the E. Jean Carroll story (now two days old) and the Santos indictment story. MSNBC’s third story was “How Biden can unmask McCarthy with one question.” CBS’s third story was “Buddy Holly wins best of show at Westminster dog show.” This is an example of how these outlets manipulate public opinion without the public even realizing it. Trump Vows to Release All JFK Assassination Files If Reelected

Former President Donald Trump vowed this week to release all files related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy, coming after his nephew alleged that U.S. intelligence officials may have been involved in his 1963 death.
“I released a lot, as you know. And I will release everything else,” Trump told The Messenger on Monday, referring to the Kennedy records.
When Trump was in office, he released some documents but did not release all of the records. At the time, his administration said that it could not release all of the records because “certain information should continue to be redacted because of identifiable national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns.”
“I agree with the Archivist’s recommendation that the continued withholdings are necessary to protect against identifiable harm to national security, law enforcement, or foreign affairs that is of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in immediate disclosure. I am also ordering agencies to re-review each of those redactions over the next 3 years. At any time during that review period, and no later than the end of that period, agencies shall disclose information that no longer warrants continued withholding,” Trump’s office said in 2018. The American Renewal Project hosted 13 North Carolina pastors’ luncheons in 2021 featuring NC Lt. Governor Mark Robinson. 2,700 NC pastors and spiritual leaders participated in those events. On Primary Election Day - May 17, 2022 - 50 pastors and spiritual leaders ran for local offices across the state, and 25 won.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, ten of the spiritual leaders were elected to public office across the state. Three of the thirteen newly elected NC State House members are pastors, and two spiritual leaders were elected to the Supreme Court of North Carolina!
All this has taken place in obedience to Jesus’ ekklesia Kingdom assignment from Matthew 16:18: “And I also say to thee, that thou art a rock, and upon this rock I will build my ekklesia and gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
Ed Silvoso asked in his book Ekklesia, “Could it be that we have confined to four walls once a week what is designed to be a 24/7 people movement out in the marketplace, transforming our cities and nations?
“If the Church is so important, why did Jesus mention it only twice in the gospels? And why is there neither a command nor instructions in the Bible on how to plant one?

As believers enter the public arena, Solomon showed in Proverbs 24:10 pertinent perceptiveness regarding the battle ahead for Christians: “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is limited.” Dr. Bruce K. Waltke, the foremost living authority on the wisdom literature found in the Old Testament, put it in these words: “A person reveals the degree and extent of his strength by his conduct in crisis.”
Distinguished Old Testament scholar and former Professor Emeritus of Hebrew and Oriental Languages, William McKane, will have the last word on it: “It is when a man is hemmed in and trapped by adverse circumstances that his powers of endurance are stretched and an estimate of his toughness and stamina can be made.”

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas compared Israeli rhetoric to Nazi propaganda, demanded Israel be suspended from the UN if it does not grant Palestinians a state and a “right of return” for millions of refugees, and denied Jewish ties to the Temple Mount during a speech at UN Headquarters in New York on Monday.
Abbas was speaking at the UN General Assembly’s first-ever commemoration of the “Nakba,” Arabic for “catastrophe” and the Palestinian term for Israel’s creation.
Israel harshly opposed the event marking the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, calling it a “distortion of history,” and said it had convinced dozens of other countries to boycott the commemoration. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

It’s almost globular cluster season. One of the mysteries of our galaxy and every other, these dense groupings of up to a million stars—the most massive and oldest star clusters in the Universe—are a beautiful sight in a small telescope
As seen from the Orion spiral arm where we are these ancient relics appear clustered around the center of our galaxy, which in summer becomes visible to those of us in the northern hemisphere.
But whether you get eyes-on with the Great Globular in Hercules, the Sagittarius Star Cluster, Omega Centauri or any of the other 177 visible around the halo of our Milky Way, known that some elusive questions about globular clusters remain unanswered by astronomers. What are they, where did they come from, and—perhaps most intriguing—why are the millions of stars in any one of these dense clusters radically different in composition? After all, they must have been born in the same dust cloud.

Christian University Proves 'Never Back Down' Works in Battle with School Board

The battle to overcome the spiritual forces looking to hinder and gag the Good News that Jesus died on the cross and overcame sin and death by rising from the grave on the third day is never ending. This is why perseverance and endurance are mandatory elements of the Christian walk. When Washington Elementary School board member Tamillia Valenzuela expressed her concerns at a board meeting and said she would be opposed to having a contract with a Christian university over the religious and biblical beliefs they espouse, that university did not stand by while the name of Jesus was discriminated against. Instead, Arizona Christian University stood up for the religious freedoms that the United States was founded upon, based on the freedoms granted only by God in heaven, and took the school district in Phoenix, Arizona, to court on religious discrimination charges.
Now, the school district has decided to settle the religious discrimination case. The contract was restored with ACU, along with their "Jesus values," and it is reported that the settlement will also include the district being held responsible for legal fees. Representing the university was the Alliance Defending Freedom, who said the school board members "showed blatant hostility to ACU's beliefs. "My concerns, [is] when I go to Arizona Christian University's website, [they are] 'committed to Jesus Christ, accomplishing His will and advancements on earth as in heaven,' said Valenzuela who describes herself as "a bilingual, disabled, neuro-divergent queer, Black Latina... who loves a good hot wing (but only with the right ranch) and things that sparkle. This type of aggression toward Christ and the teaching of the Word of God must be called out and stood against in a lawful manner.
