TODAY'S TOP STORY
Yellen: US Default Would Cause 'Worldwide Panic, Runs'

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Tuesday warned that a U.S. default on government debt would leave millions of Americans without income payments, potentially triggering a recession that destroys many American jobs and businesses.

Yellen told a gathering of community bankers that the unprecedented economic and financial crisis would be exacerbated by possible disruptions to the federal government’s operations, including air traffic control, law enforcement, border security and national defense, and telecommunications systems.

She said the accompanying financial crisis could multiply the severity of the downturn, adding, "It is very conceivable that we'd see a number of financial markets break — with worldwide panic triggering margin calls, runs and fire sales." (Newsmax) Read more.

- Holy King, this situation is so unacceptable.  Most people live with budgetary restrictions, why shouldn't we expect this government to do the same thing and stop shoving the U.S. and world into an economic disaster.  We pray for wisdom and a halt to both the government and its agencies over-spending incredibly, as well as the greed and domination of corporations, taking advantage of every opportunity possible.  We call them all to repentance and command them to cease their fiscally destructive ways, in Jesus name.  Sometimes people must hit bottom before they can repent, change and do the right thing, so perhaps that is what is needed now to bring these money-mongers under the heel.  We commit this economic situation and our care into Your hands Oh King, in Jesus name.  Amen.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind."  (James 1:5-6)

Florida Activists Secretly Ship Free Sex-Change Kits to Children Around the Country

An Epoch Times investigation discovered that a Florida activist group secretly sent transgender sex-change kits to hundreds of children across the country. The “Build-A-Queer” kits contain breast binders, condoms, fake male genitalia called “packers,” tape used to bind and hide male genitalia, and more.

Several of these items can potentially harm children, experts have told The Epoch Times. And some of the group’s actions appear to be illegal, at least according to the laws in some states, including Florida, attorneys said.

Until recently, the group’s giveaways included “Trans Self-Defense Kits,” which contained weapons, including knives and Tasers. The items were available to children and others who applied online, according to Cielo Sunsarae, director of the Florida group, the Queer Trans Project (QTP).

The group’s website has had 90,000 visits so far this year, Sunsarae told The Epoch Times. QTP’s TikTok account has an online following of 43,000. “All of our items are for individuals of all ages,” Sunsarae wrote in a text to The Epoch Times. The group’s website posts no restrictions based on age or a requirement for parental consent.

So far, the QTP has mailed 959 kits to recipients in every state except North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska, Vermont, and Montana, Sunsarae said. The group hopes to double that amount this year. Most kit recipients are “youth,” said Sunsarae, a biological woman who identifies as a man. - Holy One, there are no words for the evil and depravity exhibited by this unbelievable action.  We pray for these sexually deviant people who are unable to recognize the beautiful human God created them to be and we thank You that their nefarious program has been exposed.  We command this wicked agenda to harm others to cease and desist, in Jesus name.  We bind and rebuke the agenda to lure and seduce our children into actions that are unbiblical, unholy and personally self-destructive.  We pray for an overwhelming flood of righteousness from citizens and the law to bring this organization and their so-called "kits" under the justice of Almighty God and declare complete deliverance for the children that have already purchased them, in Jesus name.

- "Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.  See how great a forest a little fire kindles!  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.  The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell."  (James 3:5-6)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Herzog urges progress at overhaul talks as sources indicate little movement - Times of Israel

Negotiators working to find a cross-partisan consensus on reform to Israel’s judiciary received a surprise guest on Tuesday: President Isaac Herzog, whose official residence has hosted talks between the coalition and opposition over the past six weeks but who himself has stepped back from facilitating the process, interrupted the closed discussions to urge a breakthrough.

“It’s money time,” the president told assembled negotiators, according to his office.

Despite nearly two months of ongoing talks between teams representing the coalition and the opposition’s two biggest parties, no tangible progress has been made, according to sources close to the issue. (Read more)

2. Israel Weapons Industries to Collaborate with Peru on Weapons Production - Jewish Press

An Israeli defense firm has signed a “ToT” (transfer of technology and knowledge) agreement with a Peruvian arms and ammunition manufacturer to establish a weapons assembly and production line in the South American nation.

Israel Weapons Industries (IWI), a member of the SK Group, agreed on Monday to transfer technologies and production information for the Arad family of assault rifles to Fábrica de Armas y Municiones del Ejército (FAME).

Under the terms of the agreement, IWI will provide FAME with technological knowledge regarding small arms assembly, advanced quality assurance and maintenance processes. In the future, the companies will also explore the possibility of expanding production to include additional weapons and relevant optical sights for the country’s defensive and security forces, IWI said. 3. Palestinian textbook bill gains bipartisan support in Congress - Jerusalem Post

A bipartisan bill requiring the US secretary of state to submit annual reports on inciteful and antisemitic Palestinian educational material has been introduced to Congress and unanimously passed in the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The bill was announced as the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA continue to print textbooks for Palestinian schools that include antisemitism and incitement against Israel and Jews, an issue that the EU passed a resolution condemning last week.

The goal of the bill is for the State Department to inform Congress if any US foreign aid is utilized in the creation of textbooks used by Palestinian schools that include inciteful and antisemitic content. (Read more)

4. Invoking Palestinian Plight, Tunisian President Again Denies Antisemitic Nature of Attack on Synagogue - United with Israel

On at least two occasions during the past week, Tunisia’s president has angrily denied the claim that the deadly attack gun attack last Tuesday against a historic synagogue on the island of Djerba was motivated by antisemitism, in comments that will likely amplify existing concerns about the attitude of the authorities to the country’s tiny Jewish community.

Speaking last Friday, President Kais Saied mocked those “who talk about antisemitism when we are in the 21st century” following a meeting with Prime Minister Najla Bouden and other members of his cabinet.

Saied then went on to accuse those who raised the issue of antisemitism of wanting “to sow division to benefit from this discourse,” in remarks reported by China’s state-run Xinhua news agency and several Middle Eastern outlets. (Read more)

5. US urges ‘calm, restraint’ ahead of contentious Jerusalem Flag March in Old City - Times of Israel

The US is urging “calm” and “restraint” ahead of a highly controversial nationalist parade through the Old City of Jerusalem on Thursday, where tens of thousands of Jewish Israelis are expected to march through the Muslim Quarter waving Israeli flags. The event will come less than a week after Israel and terror group Palestinian Islamic Jihad finalized a ceasefire agreement following five days of deadly conflict.

The annual rally of religious nationalists is regularly a tense affair, with thousands of largely Orthodox participants marching from Independence Park to the Western Wall to mark Israel’s reunification of East and West Jerusalem during the 1967 Six Day War. The Jerusalem Day march has gained notoriety over the years, as it is often marred by hate speech and sometimes violence by Jewish participants toward Palestinians.

On Tuesday, State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said Washington would “continue to urge the parties to refrain from actions and rhetoric and activities that would inflame tensions,” in response to a question about the controversial march during a press briefing. (Read more)

1. Texas Children’s Hospital Providing Transgender Treatments Despite Promising To Stop - The Dally Caller

Texas Children’s Hospital has reportedly been providing transgender treatments to minors despite promising to stop the practice, according to City Journal.

Whistleblower documents released by City Journal on Tuesday appear to show the hospital has continued providing transgender procedures for gender-dysphoric youth, including puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy. The documents appear to show that the hospital provided sex-change treatments earlier in 2023 and has future treatments planned for June. The documents describe a 19-year-old “male” who has interest in breast removal, also known as “top surgery.” The documents also describe a 15-year-old who has “questions about surgery.”

Texas Children’s Hospital hosted a presentation titled, “Medical and Psychological Care of Gender-Diverse Youth” in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine this January, according to City Journal. Doctors were reportedly urged to begin sex-change treatments for minors before puberty and consider sex-change operations later. (Read more)
- Lord God, we pray that this hospital, and those that are going along with this would be held accountable for their actions. We plead the blood over this hospital that it would choose to serve your purpose Lord God. We pray for every doctor and every nurse and everyone that works at the hospital that they would be convicted in their hearts and turn from their wicked ways. We pray that they would realize that what they are doing is wrong and use their abilities to help our youth instead of destroy them in Jesus name amen.

“What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so.”  (Micah 2:1)

2. Illegal Alien, Charged with Raping Teen Girl, Released into U.S. by Biden’s DHS - Brietbart

An illegal alien is accused of raping a teenage girl in Prattville, Alabama, after having been released into the United States at the southern border by President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Grevi Geovani Rivera Zavala, a 29-year-old illegal alien from Honduras, was arrested and charged with the first-degree rape of a teenage girl late last week. According to WFSA 12 News, Zavala allegedly raped the girl in the women’s restroom of a restaurant. Police allege that the illegal alien forced the girl into a bathroom stall, held her down, and raped her in a completely random attack.

“This rape never should have happened,” Autauga County District Attorney CJ Robinson told local media of the incident, noting that Zavala was an illegal alien who first arrived at the southern border in November 2021 using a fake name. (Read more)

- Lord God, we are praying for a good resolution to this crisis, and for wisdom for our elected officials at all levels of government who need to take action. Help our leaders understand that their inability to solve this crisis are hurting the people that they swore to protect. We need a miracle Lord. In Jesus name Amen.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

3. New York town declares state of emergency as local businesses volunteer to house migrants - Washington Examiner

The town of Riverhead, New York, declared a state of emergency Tuesday night in an effort to prevent immigrants and asylum-seekers from being relocated to the town from New York City. Riverhead Supervisor Yvette Aguiar signed the emergency declaration after seeing reports that officials from New York City were planning to move immigrants to hotels and motels in the town.

"Relative to the surrounding townships on the East End and throughout Suffolk County, Riverhead has done more than its share when it comes to housing the homeless, providing services, and offering affordable housing, and our resources and taxpayers simply cannot withstand further demand on our public services," Aguiar said in a statement.

The press release announcing the state of emergency also said that the "health and safety of the residents of Riverhead remains Supervisor Aguiar’s primary concern and top priority."  (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for the leaders in this state that they stand up and take action to protect the people that elected them. We pray that every leader, all across our country would have eyes to see and ears to hear the effects of bad policies, and how it’s hurting our country, our schools, our hospitals, our economy, and choose to turn away from political correctness, and turn their eyes to the truth And strengthen our country making a great again in Jesus name amen.

- ‘You have eyes—can’t you see? You have ears—can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all?  (Mark 8:18)

4. Elon Musk’s concerning warning about the future of the US economy - DML News

Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned on Tuesday that the economy is in for a challenging year ahead and said the Federal Reserve will be too slow to lower interest rates as economic conditions worsen. Musk was interviewed by CNBC’s David Faber following Tesla’s annual meeting and asked Musk about how the Fed’s policy will make it a tough year for Tesla. Musk responded that it will be a tough year “for everyone, not just Tesla” and attributed it to the Fed’s recent rate hikes to tamp down stubbornly high inflation.

Condemning the Federal Reserve, Musk said, “My concern with the way the Federal Reserve is making decisions is they’re just operating with too much latency,. Basically, the data is somewhat stale. The Federal Reserve was slow to raise interest rates, and now I think they’re going be slow to lower them.”

Explaining how ordinary Americans are affected, Musk said “if the car payments or your home mortgage payment is absorbing more of your monthly budget, then you have less money to buy other things. So actually, it affects everything, even those that aren’t bought on a line of credit.”  (Read more

- First and foremost, Lord, we thank you that you are our source, and that you never change. We know that this financial system is corrupt, and it will always have its ups and downs so we put our hope and our trust in you. But right now we use our authority, and we plead the blood of Jesus over our financial system, and we bind all attacks from the enemy to try and bring our country down and our economy down in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

5. Supreme Court allows sweeping ‘assault weapons’ ban to take effect in Dem-led state - DML News

The U.S. Supreme Court allowed Illinois’ ban on “assault weapons” to take effect temporarily on Wednesday.
The ruling allows the Illinois law to remain in effect while lower courts deliberate on its constitutional status. Wednesday’s ruling comes after a gun shop owner in Illinois requested an injunction against the ban.

The Illinois law bans the sale and new possession of semi-automatic “assault weapons.” Those who already legally own such weapons would not have to turn them in. The law also bans the sale of large capacity magazines.

The case is currently being considered by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, who has not yet ruled on the new law. (Read more)

- We pray for the supreme court, and all courts of our land, that they would fight the urge to destroy our freedoms and liberties. Instead, help our courts Lord, to renew their commitment to defending our freedoms in Jesus name amen.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13)

6. Conservative school board hopefuls win seats in Texas; major city rejects abortion, marijuana decriminalization - The Christian Post

Conservative school board candidates saw mixed results in Texas elections last weekend and voters in one large city overwhelmingly rejected a ballot measure that would have decriminalized abortion and marijuana.

The 1776 Project PAC, which describes itself as “a political action committee dedicated to electing school board members nationwide who want to reform our public education system by promoting patriotism and pride in American history” and works toward “abolishing critical race theory and ‘The 1619 Project’ from school curriculum,” announced on Twitter Sunday that five of its six endorsed candidates in Tarrant County won their races Saturday.

Tarrant County is one of the most populous counties in the state and home to the city of Fort Worth.  (Read more)

- Lord, we thank You for how You are empowering Your people to stand for truth. We pray for those that were recently elected and ask that you give them the stamina and wisdom necessary to lead boldly in their new positions. We ask that you continue to empower us and motivate us to get involved in our communities.

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”  (Acts 4:31)

7. Illinois passes bill targeting crisis pregnancy centers - FISM TV

An Illinois bill that threatens crisis pregnancy centers with a $50,000 fine for deceptive acts or practices is waiting for the governor’s signature. State Attorney General Kwame Raoul pushed for this legislation. The vaguely defined language in the bill also says the AG is allowed to enforce the law when a limited service center “has engaged in, is engaging in, or is about to engage in any practice declared to be unlawful by the Act.”

Republicans have pushed back heavily against the measure. Here’s what one GOP state senator said about it last month.
Notably, Democrat sponsor Rep. Terra Costa-Howard dodged answering if labeling abortion as a sin would break the law.
Both the sponsor and the AG described first-hand encounters with deceptive crisis pregnancy volunteers.

But when asked, neither could say how many complaints the office had received about these centers. Democrats passed the bill after 90 minutes of debate. Republicans are already promising to challenge the law.  (Read more)

- Father, we know You are grieved by the injustice of abortion, and we, Your people, are grieved as well. Help us to not grow weary in the battle for laws and legal victories to protect innocent human life. Add more laborers to the life-giving work of assisting women in crisis pregnancies. Grow this movement so that many more women will find abundant life in Jesus for themselves and their babies. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up,” (Galatians 6:9)

 8. Half the Country's Governors Unite to Defend Women's Sports Against Biden's Title IX Rewrite - Townhall

Once again, Biden's abdication of strong leadership to protect Americans' way of life at the federal level means state leaders are stepping in to fight for common sense.

This time, America's governors are responding to the Biden administration's announcement of new Title IX rules that expand the definition of "discrimination" to include "gender identity" in a move which would prevent educational institutions from protecting female athletes and women's sports. Essentially, it would require schools and colleges receiving federal funds from requiring student athletes to play on teams for their biological sex.

So, half of America's governors are banding together to oppose the Biden Department of Education's new proposed Title IX regulations, what they see as "a blatant overreach of the federal government on states' rights."  (Read more)

- Lord, we know, as Your Word so clearly says, that You are the Creator of men and women and that You have a purpose for both. We pray that Your purpose would be acknowledged and valued in our nation today. We thank You for those in positions of power that do value Your will and Your purposes, and we pray that You would raise up more leaders who are willing to stand for Your design.

“We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”  (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Stupidocrisy: Rewarding Incompetence
And Evil Results

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 17, 2023

One of the most egregious examples of mishandling a pandemic in history was witnessed by the world during COVID. Now the US government is rewarding one of the organizations whose alleged negligence may have leaked the deadly virus from its Chinese lab. The National Institutes of Health on April 26 awarded EcoHealth Alliance, Inc and its Executive Director Peter Daszak another $576,290 for ongoing work on “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.” Under the terms of the grant, EcoHealth will receive a total of $4,325,005 via NIH’s National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which was led by Dr. Anthony Fauci until December 2022. Here we go again.

In September 2021, The UK Telegraph published an investigative report on how Communist Chinese and American scientists proposed as early as 2018 to release COVID 19 into the Chinese bat population to make the virus easier to enter human cells. Moreover, the Telegraph reported these scientists “planned to create chimeric viruses, genetically enhanced to infect humans more easily, and requested $14 million form the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to fund the work.” The proposal was submitted by EcoHealth’s Daszak. DARPA refused funding, saying: “It is clear that the proposed project led by Daszak could have put local communities at risk”, and warned that the team had not properly considered the dangers of enhancing the virus (gain of function research) or releasing a vaccine by air. Shipwreck Carrying Ancient Marble Columns
Discovered off Israel

A diver discovered a 1,800-year-old Roman shipwreck off the coast of Israel, containing 44 tons of artifacts, including Corinthian columns adorned with ornate vegetal patterns.

Although archaeologists were aware of the shipwreck’s existence, they did not know its precise location because it had been hidden by layers of sand. Recent storms, however, appear to have played a role in revealing the sunken vessel.

The diver, Gideon Harris, made this significant discovery and promptly reported it to the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA).

Koby Sharvit, the director of the underwater archaeology unit at the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), mentioned in a statement released on Monday (May 15, 2023) that this unexpected exposure of the cargo was likely aided by the turbulent weather conditions.

Oldest sea cargo wreck

The ship from the ancient Roman era had an extraordinary cargo of 44 tons (40 metric tons) of marble. This precious load included Corinthian columns embellished with intricate vegetal designs, as well as capitals, which are the uppermost part of the columns.

Want Revival? Powerful, Biblical Solution
to Public School Crisis Is Spreading Like Wildfire
and Bringing Kids to the Lord
The founder of a program providing Bible education during the public school day believes a failure thus far to utilize a little-known law could be the “greatest missed opportunity of the American church to reach the next generation.” Joel Penton, founder, and CEO of LifeWise Academy and author of the new book, “During School Hours: WHY and HOW LifeWise Academy is Reinstalling Religious Education into the Public School Day,” said his organization is experiencing monumental growth as it takes advantage of Release Time rulings allowing kids to get religious instruction during the school day. It’s a sign of hope amid an increasingly secularized culture.

LifeWise launched in 2019 after he heard about another effort in his hometown of Van Wert, Ohio, to educate children about Christian values during the public school day. “We were inspired by a program that started in my hometown in 2012,” he said. “People in my hometown started what’s known as a Released Time religious instruction program. Very few people are aware that, in 1952, the Supreme Court ruled that public school students can be released from public school during school hours to attend religious classes.” Penton is referring to Zorach v. Clauson, a 6-3 Supreme Court case that ruled Released Time instruction is constitutional and permissible. Penton said there are some criteria that must be met in order to successfully use Released Time laws: the program must be off school property, must be privately funded, and must have parental permission.

In an era in which the “separation of church and state” is a line imbued upon almost everything in the political and social arenas, some might be surprised to hear about this legal method of Bible teaching. But, today, 26 states have Release Time laws, and Penton is working with schools to use the law to help bring Christian education to kids and families. Penton said it has been a “whirlwind” since the the 2019 start of LifeWise Academy, an effort to bring these classes to communities coast to coast. “We launched with two schools but, as of today, we’re serving 133 schools across four states,” he said, noting LifeWise is approved to be in over 260 schools in more than 10 states next year. LifeWire provides a 10-step process to help people launch these programs and offers templates and tools to make it a reality.  Read More
- Abba, we lift-up PRAISE for this opportunity to expose children in public schools to Your Word! May Your saints be encouraged as they pursue "Lifewise Academy" within their own school districts and communities. Father, we declare that the Lifewise organization will be blessed and bible teaching will spread all across America, bringing children to the saving knowledge of Christ. In Jesus mighty name-Amen

- "Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." (Ephesians 3:20)
Thought for Today
Don’t let lying, deceiving people all around steal your future and hope, steal your joy. Keep your eyes on Jesus no matter what. Do and live the will of Jesus’ father, the will of God. Have the innocent absolute faith of little children. And absolutely believe in Him.

Remember:
The only thing that really matters is Jesus and your relationship with Him.

Scripture: They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 7:14

Have you been to Jesus
For the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless?
Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily
By the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

When the Bridegroom cometh
Will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

Lay aside the garments
That are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Refrain
