White House: Biden would veto Israel Security Assistance Support Act

"The bill would undermine the president’s ability to execute an effective foreign policy," the Biden administration said.

The Office of Management and Budget, which is part of the White House, stated on Tuesday that U.S. President Joe Biden would veto H.R. 8369, the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, if it came across his desk.
The bill, which is scheduled for a House vote on Wednesday and which has a companion Senate version as of today, condemns the Biden administration’s decision to pause an arms shipment to Israel and would withhold funds from the Pentagon and U.S. State Department unless that and future shipments are approved.
The White House “strongly opposes” the bill, “which seeks to limit the president’s discretion to ensure that the delivery of certain defense articles and services aligns with U.S. foreign policy objectives,” it stated. “The bill would undermine the president’s ability to execute an effective foreign policy,” the White House added. “This bill could raise serious concerns about infringement on the president’s authorities under Article II of the Constitution, including his duties as commander-in-chief and chief executive and his power to conduct foreign relations.”
The White House added that the legislation is “a misguided reaction to a deliberate distortion of the administration’s approach to Israel.” “The president has been clear: We will always ensure Israel has what it needs to defend itself,” the White House stated. “Our commitment to Israel is ironclad.” (JNS.org) Read more here.

This might sound like a bad joke, but it’s reality. President Biden wants to raise taxes at a time when many Americans are struggling to put food on the table and fill up the tank.
Biden wants to raise taxes in a multitude of ways that will harm hard-working families and destroy American innovation.
For starters, he wants to let the Trump tax cuts expire. I’m not just saying that, that’s a promise Biden is making. He recently said in a speech, "It’s going to expire, and if I’m re-elected it’s going to stay expired." He then doubled down on that promise with a social media post echoing that statement.
Let’s be clear about what letting the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expire will mean.
The child tax credit that was doubled under President Trump would be cut in half, reducing take-home pay for millions of working families. The standard deduction, utilized by over 90% of filers, would also be cut in half. Free Press, a media group financed by liberal billionaire George Soros, "is looking to incorporate global pressure to push Big Tech platforms to juice their censorship operations before the 2024 U.S. presidential election," according to the Media Research Center (MRC).
Free Press, which is not affiliated with journalist Bari Weiss’ The Free Press, bills itself as an organization that "closely watches as the decisions shaping the media landscape are made and sounds the alarm when people’s rights to connect and communicate are in danger." However, in a new report, the conservative MRC found that Soros gave over $80 million to affiliated groups calling for "censorship" ahead of November’s critical election.
"One of the wealthiest men in the world is using his vast wealth and power to silence regular Americans ahead of the 2024 election. At a time when defending free speech is key, leftists are trying their best to shut down the voices of half of America, especially those who disagree with the radical agenda promoted by Biden, Soros and most Big Tech executives," MRC Free Speech America vice president Dan Schneider told Fox News Digital.
MRC associate editor Joseph Vazquez reported the Soros-funded media group "is at the helm of a new push to restrict free speech online," pointing to a recent press release as evidence.
Last month, Free Press boasted about a letter urging executives at Discord, Google, Instagram, Meta, Pinterest, Reddit, Rumble, Snap, TikTok, Twitch, Twitter and YouTube to keep online platforms "safe and healthy" in 2024 through six specific "interventions."
The letter was signed by "200 civil-society organizations, researchers and journalists," according to Free Press. The MRC found that "at least 45 of the signatories have had their coffers packed with Soros cash to the tune of a whopping $80,757,329 between 2016 and 2022 alone."
"The document attempted to justify that it was written with reducing ‘real-world harms’ and ‘the rise of extremism and violent attempts to overthrow democratic governments’ in mind. However, it appears its true design is to pressure Big Tech companies to silence speech the left despises as 60 countries across the globe gear up for their elections in 2024," Vazquez wrote. Biden and Trump to Meet for June, September Debates

The earliest televised presidential debate in history will take place on June 27 on CNN, a statement from the outlet on May 15 confirmed. The announcement came hours after former President Donald Trump accepted an invitation from President Joe Biden earlier in the day for two debates in June and September.
The debate will be held at CNN’s studios in Atlanta, in a key battleground state for the November election. Notably, no audience will be present at the debate “to ensure candidates may maximize the time allotted in the debate.”
President Biden posted on social media platform X that he had accepted CNN’s invitation. “Over to you, Donald,“ he wrote. ”As you said: anywhere, any time, any place.”
President Trump posted on Truth Social that it was his “great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy.”
President Trump added he would also accept an ABC News debate against President Biden on Sept. 10. Shortly after, President Biden posted on X that he also accepted this debate.
“I’ve also received and accepted an invitation to a debate hosted by ABC on Tuesday, September 10th,” President Biden said in the post on X. “Trump says he’ll arrange his own transportation. Media in Lebanon on Wednesday night reported of Israeli strikes deep in Lebanese territory.
Al-Mayadeen TV, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported an attack in the area of the town of Nabi Chit, in the Valley of Beqa, about 82 kilometers from the border with Israel.
The attacks came hours after a drone exploded on Wednesday evening near the Golani junction, about 50 km from the border with Lebanon.
The Hezbollah terrorist organization claimed responsibility for firing the drone.
On Wednesday afternoon, a heavy barrage of rockets was fired towards Meron, Safsufa, Bar Yochai, Jish, and nearby areas in northern Israel. (Read more)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant (Likud) clashed Wednesday over the future governance of the Gaza Strip after the current war with Hamas, revealing cracks within the ruling Israeli coalition government.
In a televised statement released Wednesday evening, Gallant called on the prime minister to make “tough decisions” regarding Israel’s exit strategy from the Gaza Strip, pressing the premier to commit to not restoring Israeli governance, either military or civil, over the coastal enclave.
While Gallant emphasized that Israel must “dismantle Hamas’ governing capabilities in Gaza,” it must also establish “a governing alternative in Gaza,” and avoid extended Israeli control over the Strip.

Ireland will recognize a Palestinian state before the end of this month, Irish Foreign Minister Micheal Martin said on Wednesday.

However, the Irish foreign minister said in a new interview that the exact date is still being discussed.

5. Sullivan to visit Israel, Saudi Arabia amid Rafah tensions - JNS
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is scheduled to visit Israel and Saudi Arabia later this week to discuss normalization between Jerusalem and Riyadh and the Israeli military operation in Rafah in southern Gaza.
A senior U.S. official told the Axiosnews site that the Biden administration had reached an understanding with the Israeli government that the scale of the Israel Defense Forces operation in the last Hamas stronghold would not be significantly expanded ahead of Sullivan’s visit.
The Biden administration is opposed to a full-scale invasion of Rafah, threatening to withhold weapons should a wider ground offensive take place. 1. Colorado Voters Will Decide: Should One Man, One Woman Marriage Definition Be Repealed from Constitution? - Daily Citizen
This fall, Colorado voters will be asked to decide if the definition of natural marriage – between one man and one woman – should be removed from the Colorado constitution.
The definition of marriage was added to the state constitution in 2006 when 55% of the voting electorate approved Amendment 46.
In 2015, the United States Supreme Court imposed a radical new definition of marriage on all 50 states through their decision in Obergefell v. Hodges. The Court overruled the will of over 50 million voters in 31 states who voted to amend their constitutions and define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
Now, “LGBT” activists want the people of Colorado to repeal the marriage amendment.
They argue it’s a useless law that should be removed from the constitution because it can’t be enforced. Ultimately, what they fear is that the U.S. Supreme Court might revisit the same-sex marriage case because it is founded on poor legal reasoning and overrule their previous decision. (Read more)

2. New Bill Would Issue Additional Requirement to Vote - Townhall
Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, House Republicans introduced legislation Wednesday requiring individuals to provide proof of U.S. citizenship in order to vote in American elections. It is currently illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections but there is no requirement preventing states from registering non-citizens of illegal aliens to vote.
Republicans in the Senate have also introduced the legislation and are urging Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to bring the bill up for debate and eventually a floor vote. “U.S. citizenship is sacred, and foreign nationals shouldn’t be able to vote in America’s elections. The SAVE Act would ensure that people who aren’t even citizens don’t cancel out Louisianians’ and Americans’ voices at the ballot box,” Senator John Kennedy released in a statement.
“Illegal immigrants and non-citizens across the nation are being improperly registered to vote, allowing them to cast illegitimate ballots in federal elections. At a time when trust in voting is more important than ever, we must stop foreign election interference and pass the SAVE Act,” Senator Mike Lee added. (Read more)

3. Boy Scouts of America Drops ‘Boy’ from Name - Washington Stand
The Boy Scouts are causing controversy with their decision to rebrand, all in the name of “inclusivity.” On Wednesday, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced that the organization will officially change its name to “Scouting America.”
The BSA explained that this change reflects “the organization’s ongoing commitment to welcome every youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting.” BSA CEO Roger Krone said, “Scouting America provides a welcoming, safe environment where youth can become the best version of themselves by learning from and respecting each other. I encourage everyone to join us and experience the benefits of Scouting.”
Although the BSA notes that girls were welcomed into BSA ranks five years ago, the organization’s press release continues to use the term “youth,” instead of “boys and girls.”
In a video, Krone responded to critics of the BSA’s decision, explaining, “Membership is at historic lows. Part of my job is to reduce all the barriers I possibly can for people to accept us as an organization and to join.” (Read more)

4. Battleground state removing non-citizens improperly registered after investigation - DML News
A recent review of voter rolls in the battleground state of Ohio found over 100 people were registered to vote in the state who were not U.S. citizens. On Tuesday, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose ordered the state’s voter rolls to be purged of all “non-citizens,” and noted that there may be even more non-citizens registered to vote than their investigation has found.
An investigation by Ohio’s Public Integrity Division analyzed data from the state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles and found 137 people who appeared on voter rolls despite twice confirming they were not U.S. citizens. Ohio law requires that in order for a person to be removed from voter rolls, they must have confirmed their lack of citizenship to the BMV on two separate occasions, and also have updated their voter registration or voted in between the two occasions. 5. College grad spews anti-Israel rant for commencement speech until mic is cut - DML News
During her Ivy League school’s commencement ceremony, Columbia University student Saham David Ahmed Ali strongly criticized the institution in an anti-Israel speech, accusing it of remaining “silent” regarding the Gaza conflict. Her microphone was abruptly turned off shortly after she began speaking.
The microphone experienced several interruptions, leading the crowd to chant “let her speak” repeatedly. Ali managed to continue her approximately 15-minute anti-Columbia and anti-Israel speech without further interruptions. Towards the end of her speech, Ali listed the demands of the anti-Israel student group Apartheid Divest, which has been protesting on the Morningside Heights campus for weeks. However, it’s important to note the following facts: Overall prices have increased by 19.4%, gas prices have risen by approximately 50%, and real average weekly earnings have decreased by 3.9% since Biden assumed office.
During the interview, Biden restated a claim regarding inflation rates when he assumed office, mentioning it was “at 9%” for the second time in less than a week. However, official data contradicts this assertion, indicating it was actually recorded at 1.4% during that period.

7. NATO member Estonia is considering sending troops into Ukraine in non-combat roles - Breaking Defense
The government of Estonia is “seriously” discussing the possibility of sending troops into western Ukraine to take over non-direct combat, “rear” roles from Ukrainian forces in order to free them up to fight on the front, though no decision is imminent, Tallinn’s national security advisor to the president told Breaking Defense.
Madis Roll said the executive branch is currently undertaking an analysis of the potential move, and though he said Estonia would prefer to make any such move as part of a full NATO mission — “to show broader combined strength and determination” — he didn’t rule out Estonia acting in a smaller coalition.
Following publication of this report, Madis clarified that such a decision is not pending before the Estonian prime minister or her cabinet specifically, and he meant only that the discussion “is not dead” and is “ongoing in Estonia in general.” “We have not excluded any option in the future,” he said. 8. Iranian lawmaker declares Tehran obtained nuclear bombs - Fox News
After the head of the United Nation’s atomic watchdog agency warned that Iran has enough uranium to produce "several" nuclear bombs, a firebrand Iranian lawmaker declared on Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses atomic weapons.
"In my opinion, we have achieved nuclear weapons, but we do not announce it. It means our policy is to possess nuclear bombs, but our declared policy is currently within the framework of the JCPOA," Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani told the Iran-based outlet Rouydad 24 on Friday, according to an article published by the independent news organization Iran Internationalin London.
The JCPOA is an abbreviation for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the formal name for the Iran nuclear deal. President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the JCPOA in 2018 because, his administration argued, the accord did not stop Iran’s drive to build atomic weapons. (Read more)

On May 7, Joe Biden addressed an audience of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum Remembrance Ceremony with extremely supportive words for America’s Jewish community. He recalled the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, saying, “Driven by ancient desire to wipeout the Jewish people off the face of the Earth, over 1,200 innocent people—babies, parents, grandparents—slaughtered in their kibbutz, massacred at a musical festival, brutally raped, mutilated, and sexually assaulted.” Biden said that antisemitism in America and around the world is “absolutely despicable, and it must stop.” At the same time he was making these remarks, his ambassadors were negotiating a secret deal with Hamas.
Hours before Israel was to begin its attack to root out remnants of the terrorist Hamas in Rafah, Hamas announced it had agreed to a ceasefire. During a Monday briefing, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby played the “sensitive process” card to justify not answering questions about the ceasefire. Then Axios.com and The Times of Israel confirmed that the Biden Administration was involved in the Hamas negotiations, but didn’t tell Israel about the details it had negotiated on behalf of Israel. A watchdog organization with a focus on higher education released video this week showing an operative from an outside communist group taking part in an anti-Israel protest on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles.
"I'm a revolutionary organizer," a woman named "Annie" tells an undercover journalist with Accuracy in Media in a video released on Wednesday. "I'm an outside agitator," she adds with a smile.
"I'm with the Revcoms, Rev Comm Corp, for the emancipation of humanity," Annie said when asked what group she was with while describing her fellow communists as "comrades."
Revcom, which made news last fall for burning an American flag at a Jason Aldean concert, writes on its website that "this system of capitalism-imperialism is the source of all the outrages and madness that people are subjected to, here and all over the world—and it is long past time it be swept off the face of the Earth."
Revcom, led by political activist Bob Avakian, is described by Influence Watch as a "radical-left political party in the United States that seeks to overthrow the government and implement a socialist system of government. With a basis in the 1960s liberal activist movements, the RCP continues to spread its message of communist ideas and replacing the government system in the United States."
Fox News Digital reached out to Revcom for comment but did not receive a response.
"Our investigation confirms that in many cases, the antisemitic protests taking place on college campuses across the country are being organized and supported by outside agitators," Accuracy in Media President Adam Guillette told Fox News Digital.
"It should come as no surprise that the Revolutionary Communist Party played a role in stoking the flames of hatred at UCLA."
Over 130 protesters were arrested earlier this month as law enforcement cleared an anti-Israel encampment which has become a common scene across the country in recent weeks as anti-Israel protesters have taken over several college campuses. (Fox News)

A survivor of Mao's Cultural Revolution says she is experiencing post-traumatic stress witnessing history repeat itself on college campuses as "Marxist hordes" have taken over in anti-American and anti-Israel demonstrations.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lily Tang Williams, who is currently running as a Republican candidate for Congress in New Hampshire's 2nd district, said she fears the country she left is coming back to haunt her again in the United States.
"I sometimes I get nervous, and I feel like I'm having a little bit of PTSD and like I can't sleep well whenever I see the way they're chanting, using drums and us[ing] slogans, [are] humiliating people and have a huge amount of young people…chanting ‘Death to America,’ not just ‘Death to Israel.’ I just feel like, oh my goodness the… Red Guards are in action again," she said.
The Red Guard was a massive student-led, paramilitary social movement in China that was mobilized by Chairman Mao Zedong in 1966.
Young people were one of the most effective tools Mao exploited to fuel his revolution, Tang Williams said. Most of the young people protesting on college campuses today are "naive" and therefore ripe for manipulation by bad faith actors, she added.
The Chinese Cultural Revolution was a political purge and persecution of millions of suspected anti-revolutionaries orchestrated by Mao, who was the chairman of the People's Republic of China from 1949 to 1976. The violent movement vehemently opposed the "Four Olds:" Old Ideas, Old Culture, Old Customs, and Old Habits, and featured the destruction of cultural artifacts.
Mao's Great Leap Forward, an economic policy, led to the deaths of up to 45 million people. Adhering to communist ideals, the state seized control of production. Private farmland was confiscated and food distribution was placed under the purview of the government. As a result, the Chinese people died from starvation, forced labor, suicide and torture. ‘Ready to Rumble:’ Trump Accepts Biden’s Offer of 2 Debates

A debate offer by President Joe Biden posted in a video on X on May 15, was accepted within the hour by a reply post on Truth Social by former President Donald Trump.
President Biden said in a 15-second video that he won two debates against President Trump in 2020, stating “since then he hasn’t shown up” for another debate.
“Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again,” President Biden said in the video. “Well, make my day, pal. I’ll even do it twice, so let’s pick the dates Donald—I hear you’re free on Wednesdays.”
President Trump responded, noting that in his opinion that President Biden is the “worst” debater he had ever faced and that the current president “can’t put two sentences together.”
“It’s time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy, new and ridiculous EV Mandates, the allowance of Crushing Inflation, High Taxes, and his really WEAK Foreign Policy, which is allowing the World to ‘Catch on Fire.’ I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September,” President Trump said in his post on Truth Social.
The two candidates announced later in the morning that they accepted an offer from CNN to debate one another in Atlanta on June 27 and another offer from ABC News on Sept. 10. The CNN debate will be held in their studios, according to the network, and will not include an audience, while additional details of the ABC News debate were not immediately available. The most destructive volcanic eruption in United States history happened less than half a century ago in Washington state.
On May 18, 1980, the north side of Mount St. Helens, in southwestern Washington, collapsed, resulting in a massive explosion of magma and gasses. The initial eruption lasted about a day, and when all was said and done, 57 people were killed by the natural disaster.
A further 27 bridges and nearly 200 homes were also destroyed as a result of the eruption, according to the Washington State Department of Resources.
Forty-four years to the month after it happened, Washingtonians still remember the Mount St. Helens’ eruption. The event was so profound that May has been designated Volcano Preparedness Month to educate residents about Mount St. Helens and Washington’s four other active volcanoes.

1980 Mount St. Helens eruption
While Mount St. Helens’ initial eruption on May 18 only lasted about 9 hours, it was enough to solidify the event as the most destructive in U.S. history.
Geologists and seismologists had an idea that something was brewing in Mount St. Helens about two months before the eruption. The first signs of activity occurred on March 16 when minor earthquakes were monitored around the peak, increasing in regularity as time went on, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Read More
