Senate fails to advance bill to guarantee abortion access nationwide
Joe Manchin joined with all Senate Republicans in sinking the abortion codification bill

A Democratic-led bill to guarantee abortion access nationwide failed to advance in the Senate Wednesday in a show vote designed to draw sharp political lines ahead of the midterm elections.

Vice President Kamala Harris presided over the vote on the Women’s Health Protection Act. It needed 60 votes to advance, but died in a 51 to 49 vote with West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin joining with all Republicans in voting no.

President Biden immediately condemned Republicans for blocking the abortion rights legislation at a time when "women’s constitutional rights are under unprecedented attack." He called on voters to elect more Democrats in November, so the legislation can get passed next year.

"Republicans in Congress – not one of whom voted for this bill – have chosen to stand in the way of Americans’ rights to make the most personal decisions about their own bodies, families and lives," Biden said in a statement. "To protect the right to choose, voters need to elect more pro-choice senators this November, and return a pro-choice majority to the House."

Manchin, a pro-life Democrat, said the legislation goes far beyond codifying the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision by wiping away state regulations, including bans on abortion earlier than 24 weeks." Make no mistake, it is not Roe v. Wade codification," Manchin said. "It is an expansion."

Even two pro-choice GOP senators -- Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine – rejected the legislation as going too far by undercutting state limits on abortion, including bans on gender-based abortion. They wanted narrower legislation that would enshrine the legal right to abortion while protecting certain state regulations permitted under Roe.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, decried the Women’s Health Protection Act as a "radical, abortion on-demand bill" that will sweep away protections for religious liberty, conscience, taxpayer funding and partial-birth abortions. It "essentially makes abortion available on demand from the time of conception till the time of delivery," he said. (Fox News) Read more.

- HalleluJah!  We rejoice Father that You have intervened in the affairs of mankind and put a stop to this legislation.  We celebrate that Joe Manchin has a heart to do what's right and the courage of a lion to stand up in the face of a wall of fire to do so.  Please cover him with Your light and angelic warriors.  Nevertheless, we also grieve that it was such an incredibly close vote.  May we, as a nation, elect more legislators with a strong moral foundation to support and stand for life in this nation, in Jesus name.

- "For behold, the Lord is coming out of His place; He will come down And tread on the high places of the earth."  (Micah 1:3)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Likud pulls bill to dissolve Knesset after Ra’am gives coalition another chance - Times of Israel

The Likud party on Wednesday pulled its bill to dissolve the Knesset after Ra’am chief Mansour Abbas announced that his party will return to the coalition and fulfill its related obligations.

With Ra’am’s four MKs, the coalition is back to a 60-60 seat parity with the Likud-led opposition, foiling the opposition’s bid to pass a preliminary reading on Wednesday of a bill to dissolve the Knesset and force elections. Had the opposition brought the measure and failed, it would have been unable to bring a similar bill to a vote again for six months.

“We’ve come to a conclusion that Ra’am, with the Shura Council and the Islamic Movement, will give a chance to coming back and fulfilling our obligations to the coalition agreement,” Abbas said, ending speculation about Ra’am’s plans following a three-week coalition timeout and a Tuesday night marathon meeting of the southern branch of the Islamic Movement’s Shura Council, which guides the party. (Read more)

2. Israel said to strike Syrian Golan in missile attack; damage reported - Times of Israel

A site in southern Syria was damaged in an Israeli missile attack in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday, Syrian state media reported.

The attack targeted an area near the town of Hader, north of Quneitra in the Syrian Golan Heights, just across the border from Israel, according to the state-run SANA news agency.

There were no reports of injuries, but material damage was caused, SANA reported. (Read more)

3. Israeli Navy captures Gazans smuggling materials for Hamas’ weapons production - World Israel News

Israeli security forces broke up a Palestinian naval smuggling network that imported components for the production of weapons for terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, the Shin Bet revealed Wednesday.

Operating on the accumulated intelligence, the Israeli Navy captured the smugglers during one of their attempts to import materials used for Hamas’ military buildup.

The Navy arrested three smugglers on April 8 after they left the Gaza Strip and began sailing toward Egypt. They were stopped by IDF forces when they tried to cross the border in the direction of Egypt’s territorial waters.

Navy sailors seized the vessel, arrested the suspects, and transferred them to the Shin Bet for interrogation. (Read more)

4. Israeli Forces Thwart Terrorist Stabber Near Jerusalem’s Temple Mount - Jewish Press

Israeli security forces stopped a terrorist in his tracks late Wednesday afternoon during an attempted attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The terrorist shouted “Allahu Akbar!” (God is Great, the Islamic war cry) and lunged at a Border Guard Police officer stationed near the entrance to the Temple Mount, at the Cotton Gate entrance to the Old City, brandishing what appeared to be a knife.

It was later discovered that he was not brandishing a knife.

Israeli forces on the scene shot the attacker, a man in his 20s who lives in the Palestinian Authority, seriously wounding him. He was taken in critical condition to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in the city. (Read more)

5. IDF chief announces special panel to investigate death of Al-Jazeera journalist- Israel Hayom

Defense Minister Benny Gantz addressed the Knesset plenum on Wednesday just hours after Al-Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was killed while covering IDF activity in Jenin, saying Israeli forces would never deliberately target a journalist.

"I would like to express my sorrow over her death; Israel considers it paramount to protect human life and freedom of the press," Gantz told lawmakers. He added, "IDF troops would never deliberately hurt journalists, and any attempt to suggest otherwise lacks any validity."

He also defended Israel's public diplomacy campaign to explain the unfolding of events that led to the tragic death of the reporter, whose circumstances are still being investigated. "The MKs and others who are lamenting the work of our information agencies and the IDF SPokesperson's Unit are making baseless accusations; I would like to lend my support to the fighters and the entire gamut of units that have been partaking in this effort to provide security for Israelis and to reveal the truth as it is," Gantz said. He noted that "according to an initial investigation the IDF has conducted over the past several hours, it appears that no [Israeli] fire was directed toward the reporter, but we will continue our investigation; in fact, footage taken at the scene shows massive and indiscriminate fire by Palestinian terrorists." (Read more)

1. Republican Leader Asks for Democratic Nomination to FTC to be Pulled - Reuters

U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell urged the Biden administration on Tuesday to reconsider its nomination of privacy expert Alvaro Bedoya to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, possibly extending the Democrats' inability to take control of the agency.

In a floor speech, McConnell said of Bedoya: "He is an essentially foolish choice - foolish - when the American people handed this administration a 50-50 Senate. I would urge my colleagues on both sides to stop this awful nomination so the president can reconsider and send us somebody suitable."
McConnell said Bedoya has publicly criticized police, among other allegations. The Chamber of Commerce also opposes the nomination.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has said Bedoya was needed on the five-member commission - now 2-2 between Democrats and Republicans - in order for the agency to investigate oil companies Democrats say are "gouging" consumers with high gasoline prices.

The commission cannot move forward with a contemplated action on a tie vote.
Bedoya, a visiting law professor at Georgetown University, is a former chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Judiciary subcommittee on privacy, technology and the law. (Read more)

2. Despite Pandemic Holdups, Christians Keep Shifting Foster Care Approach - Christianity today

Prior to 2020, the child welfare system in America had begun to adjust its approach. The focus among Christian ministries, advocates, and government programs had increasingly turned to prevention and early intervention for at-risk families to get the support they need.

The Families First legislation, passed in 2018, addressed strains in the foster care system by promoting ways to keep children being removed unnecessarily from their parents. The law offered more help for kinship guardians—relatives who could care for children in need—while aiming to reduce the need for fostering and limit group home options to the most difficult situations.
The coronavirus derailed some of those plans, as everything from funding to placements to preventative programs slowed to a halt amid government lockdowns and insufficient, makeshift virtual solutions.

Agencies and advocates are now attempting to move forward with pre-pandemic plans, but the consequences of the past couple of years still linger.
Foster care entrances were down by 14 percent from 2019 to 2020, according to data released late last year, but not for lack of need. Rather, there were fewer opportunities to see and report abuse or neglect. (Read more)

- Lord, Your Word instructs us to care for orphans. Jesus, ignite the church to bear one another’s burdens by serving hurting families in their communities. Raise up more people to fill the gap where a safe, stable and loving home is needed for children who have been removed from their home. We pray that each child will have a safe and caring adult to speak into their life, pointing them to You and that they will know they have a purpose, that You are able to take everything in their life and shape a future for them. Help them to know they aren’t defined by their past or a label that has been assigned to them, but that their identity is in You.

- “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” (James 1:27)

3. Update on Mother's Day threats: New incidents reported - Catholic News Agency

Catholics across the U.S. kept a wary vigil Sunday for pro-abortion activists to follow through on a threat to disrupt Masses on Mother’s Day. While the weekend proved mostly peaceful, there were incidents of violence, vandalism, and aggression in some parts of the country:

  • In Madison, Wisconsin, the headquarters of a pro-life organization — Wisconsin Family Action — was set ablaze in an apparent arson attack, police said Sunday. No one was hurt. Graffiti left outside the building said, "If abortions aren't safe you aren't either."
  • In Denton, Texas, a pro-life pregnancy center called Loreto House was defaced with graffiti that read, "Not a clinic," and "Forced pregnancy is murder." In a tweet, Bishop Michael Olson of Fort Worth said, "Please pray for the person who perpetrated this, for their interior healing and moral conversion."
  • In Los Angeles, the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels was disrupted just before Communion by female protesters dressed in "huge hats" and "red, hooded gowns," parishioner Bradford Adkins, 35, of Los Angeles, told CNA. Adkins said the women were shouting and unfurled a large green banner but were escorted away, allowing the Mass to resume.

- Lord God we thank You so much for all that You’re doing to advance pro-life values and just laws that value life the way you do. We pray a special blessing and protection over all your churches, your people, and the justices and judges of our land.  We ask you to protect them and continue to guide and lead each one in your counsel, in Jesus name, amen.

- “and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18)

4. The battles for our freedom are increasingly occurring at the state level - WORLD

It has long been said that lawmakers in Washington can’t get much of anything done—and the sentiment is understandable. Congress is frequently plagued by razor-thin majorities, partisan bickering, and distracted politicians campaigning for reelection or higher offices. Gallup polling reveals a decades long trend of strong disapproval of Congress. For example, the results from this March alone showed that 76 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job.

Given this environment, it’s dangerous for Christians and Americans of other faiths to rely solely on Congress to pass legislation that will protect our fundamental freedoms from the growing attacks of far-left-wing interest groups (to say nothing of the all-but-certain veto from the current president of the United States). But where Congress continues to falter, state legislatures are taking up the charge. Arguably, the work to protect freedoms doesn’t happen primarily in Congress—much of the most important action happens at the state level.

In preparation for a decision overturning Roe, several of those states have preemptively passed pro-abortion policies to codify a right to abortion in state law. With such extreme policies already being enacted, we must be prepared to combat more aggressive attacks on women and the sanctity of life in the wake of Dobbs.

The growing intensity of the role states play in defending our most cherished and fundamental freedoms should inspire us as Christians to advocate for state-level policies that protect truth and keep the doors open for the gospel. (Read more)

- “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”        (1 Corinthians 10:31)

5. New DOJ Notes Reveal FBI Panic After Trump Tweeted He Knew He Was Being Spied On - The Epoch Times

Newly released notes taken by high-level Department of Justice (DOJ) officials during a March 6, 2017, meeting with FBI leadership expose some of the lengths the FBI went to, to cover up its spying on the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.

The notes were released on May 8 by lawyers representing former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann as part of an effort to clear him on charges of having lied to the FBI. The notes, in reality, appear to do little to exonerate Sussmann but do provide quite a bit of information on the FBI.

The meeting at which the notes were taken took place just two days after Trump’s March 4, 2017, tweet in which he accused former President Barack Obama of having wiretapped Trump Tower. Trump’s tweet panicked FBI leadership, who were unsure exactly how much Trump knew about their efforts to tie him up with Russia collusion allegations.

The combined efforts of Obama intelligence officials and the FBI would soon culminate in the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, which essentially tied up Trump for the next three years. And in doing so, they ensured that little or no progress was made in bringing the actual perpetrators of the Russia hoax to justice. (Read more)

- Thank You Lord for Your hand being over this situation. We thank You that this cover up and coup to destroy Donald Trump is unraveling. We pray that accountability in this entire situation would be made. We trust You God that You are all powerful and are working all this out for good in the name of Jesus Christ.

- “Your arm is endowed with power; Your hand is strong, Your right hand exalted.” (Psalm 89:13)

6. Judge withdraws contempt order against Trump - Washington Examiner

Former President Donald Trump was released from a civil contempt of court order Wednesday, provided he pays a $110,000 fine and meets several conditions by May 20. If Trump fails to comply with the conditions set by the judge, he vowed to reinstate the contempt of court ruling and apply it retroactively.

Trump's legal team has been filing a trove of documents in an attempt to comply with a court order. Engoron wants Trump's legal team to provide a detailed description of the Trump Organization's policies on document storage and a review of documents in about five remaining boxes connected to Trump that had not been searched.

On Friday, Trump turned over an updated affidavit claiming that he no longer possessed the mobile devices requested by New York Attorney General Letitia James, CNN reported. An outside company also told the court it reviewed over 1,300 boxes searching for material that may have been subject to the subpoena, the New York Times reported. (Read more)

7. DeSantis notches legal win in battle over law revoking Disney's special tax district - Fox Business

A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit challenging Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' law dissolving Disney World's Reedy Creek Improvement District, rejecting the claims of a Miami lawyer running for U.S. Senate as a Democrat.

In the complaint, three residents of Orange and Osceola counties claimed that S.B. 4-C, the law that eliminates Disney's ability to operate an independent governmental entity around its Orlando-area theme parks, unconstitutionally threatens residents with higher taxes, abridges free speech rights, and violates a contractual obligation, the Orlando Sentinel reported. William Sanchez, a Miami lawyer and Democratic Senate candidate, filed the lawsuit last week.

U. S. District Court Judge Cecilia Altonaga, whom former President George W. Bush appointed, cited many reasons to dismiss the suit, including the federal court's lack of standing over state issues and the tentative nature of the plaintiffs' claims. S.B. 4-C, which DeSantis signed on April 22, will not go into effect until July 2022. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, thank You for those who fulfill Your purpose for government. Thank You for DeSantis and his ability to stand firm in his convictions and to rule and reign in his state with righteousness and justice. We can clearly see Your favor and blessings upon him.

 8. Pro-choice group to target all 6 GOP-appointed SCOTUS justices' homes for 'Walk-by Wednesday' protests - Fox News

A pro-choice group is planning protests outside the homes of all six Republican-appointed justices of the Supreme Court - Justices John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett – in what the group is calling "Walk-by Wednesday."

The far-left group known as "Ruth Sent Us" has repeatedly targeted conservative justices' homes as part of an ongoing left-wing pressure campaign aimed at influencing the court to uphold Roe v. Wade, after a leaked draft opinion suggested the court is on the verge of overturning its verdict in the 1973 case.
Ruth Sent Us is also among the far-left groups to have targeted Catholic churches for pro-choice protests.

The group, which has a TikTok account with more than 22,000 followers, recently posted videos of women wearing costumes inspired by Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaids Tale" protesting in front of what they claimed was Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s house. Another video showed activists walking into what appeared to be the front of a Catholic church during Mass. (Read more)

- Lord God we know that most of these activist groups are well planned or organized nor are they authentic or organic at all. We bind the root cause and the funding for all of this division and chaos and break its powers right now in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray protection over every justice and their families and we declare that life, truth and justice will win, in Jesus name, amen.

- “For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”  (Deuteronomy 20:4)

9. Trump-Backed Alex Mooney Defeats ‘RINO’ David McKinley - Brietbart

The West Virginia primary tested the political will of the Republican Party base. After the 2020 census, the state lost one congressional district, forcing a primary battle between McKinely from the first congressional district and Mooney from the second congressional district.

This has forced a contentious battle between the more “RINO”-leaning McKinely and the Trump-backed Mooney.
“Congressman Alex Mooney is a conservative warrior running in West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District. His opponent is a RINO who supported the ‘Unfrastucture Bill’ and the Sham January 6 Unselect Committee,” Trump said in a statement.

Trump added, “Alex fights for our Veterans, for Energy and Clean Coal, Election Integrity, our Borders, Jobs, and against the horrible drug epidemic. On May 10th, Vote for Alex Mooney, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement. I love West Virginia!”

And before honor comes humility." (

10. Bush, NRA turn out for Kemp to rally GOP establishment vote in Georgia against Trump-backed Perdue - Just The News

Establishment Republicans in Georgia are delivering one final push for incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp as he competes in his primary against Trump-backed former Sen. David Perdue.

Kemp was recently endorsed by the National Rifle Association, and will soon attend a fundraiser alongside former President George W. Bush. The Republican Governors Association has also been heavily backing Kemp for months, and spent an estimated $5 million on his reelection bid.

Kemp has consistently polled in front of Perdue throughout the primary ahead of Georgia's May 24 primary. (Read more)

- Lord God we just pray over all the citizens and individuals who will be voting so that they would seek you and seek your wisdom and counsel on who to vote for. We pray Lord, that our spiritual senses would be opened right now in the mighty name of Jesus, so that we can discern right from wrong and truth from half truth and not be deceived. We pray that everyone would make righteous and just decisions in the voting booth, in Jesus name, amen.

Stupidocrisy: The Inflation Debate

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, May 11, 2022

Democrats, and the Biden Administration in particular, are running hard for the November mid-term elections—that is, running hard away from the policies that have destroyed a perfectly robust American economy. Their policies have produced record gasoline prices. The cost of living for some people in this country has become unbearable. One nearly needs a loan from the bank to fill up their car and get a week’s worth of groceries. Yet White House Council of Economic Advisors Chair Cecilia Rouse told CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday that inflation “has been the consequence of mounting an effective response to the pandemic.” What? If this is effective, maybe there is beachfront property for sale in Arizona.

Rouse said, “Because while we supported households and businesses, got shots into arms, which allowed people to start to come out of their homes and regain their lives, our supply chains could not support that demand. So, this is — we are not alone. All advanced countries are addressing…this. So, this is a consequence of having an effective strategy against the pandemic.” She earlier said that the higher gasoline prices were due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She juked a question about government spending causing inflation. Both Rouse and the CNN reporter neglected to mention that under Donald Trump, the economy was beginning to recover. Ongoing business lockdowns disrupt supply chains. Democrats ignore this. Read More

BIDEN TO VISIT JERUSALEM WITH UNPRECEDENTED STATEMENT: ZION BELONGS TO MUSLIMS
United States Vice President Joe Biden seen waving as he boards his plane after after 2 days visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Photo Matty Stern/US Embassy of Tel Aviv US EMBASSY TEL AVIV
"It said to me: O mortal, this is the place of My throne and the place for the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the people Yisrael forever. The House of Yisrael and their kings must not again defile My holy name by their apostasy and by the corpses of their kings at their death." (Ezekiel 43:7)

US President Joe Biden is planning a visit to Israel in June. Still, a recent report claims that while here, he will visit the eastern section of Jerusalem in a clear message of support for establishing a Palestinian capital in the Jews’ eternal capital.

CNN reported on Monday that the President’s office had announced unfinalized plans for the visit to the eastern section of Jerusalem. The president may visit Al Makassed Hospital, located on the Mount of Olives. It is the largest Palestinian medical center in Jerusalem. Nearly 80% of the hospital employees are residents of the West Bank who have special permits to enter Israel.

No US president has ever visited this section of Jerusalem. This stands in stark contrast to President Trump, who prayed at the Western Wall. In addition, the Biden administration had pledged to reopen a consulate for Palestinians in the eastern section of Jerusalem after Trump closed the consulate when he moved the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Barry Shaw, a Senior Associate at the Israel Institute for Strategic Studies, criticized Biden’s decision:

“He has demanded that he will not be accompanied by any Israeli official but will meet members of the Palestinian Authority who have been permitted to administer certain hospitals and schools in east Jerusalem but who insist that their capital will be in Israel’s undivided and sovereign capital, Jerusalem, even though their government and administrative…offices are in Ramallah.”

“This is a devious way for Biden and his State Department to get back at Israel and drive a wedge into Israel’s legitimate and exclusive sovereign rights over its Jerusalem capital, following Israel’s refusal to allow the State Department to open a US consulate there to serve Palestinians.”

. . .  An official from the [Palestinian] hospital was quoted as saying that Biden’s visit would be a powerfully symbolic gesture of unity with the Palestinian fight against Israel. “We have also been treating many Palestinians killed or injured by the Israeli army and police,” the source added. “That’s why many people identify us with the Palestinian cause.” (Israel365News)

The Decline of a Democratic Superlawyer
Marc Elias, the left's go-to attack dog, is laughed out of court, accused of lying to the special counsel, and on the losing end of several voting-rights cases.

It's not every day that a federal judge calls a lawsuit from one of the country's top lawyers a nasty and partisan "Hail Mary pass" intended to undermine free and fair elections. But that's what happened on Wednesday when U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, tossed out a lawsuit brought by Democratic superlawyer Marc Elias.

"In the 102 years since my father, then a Ukrainian refugee, came into this country, if there were two things that he drilled into my head, they were … free, open, rational elections [and] respect for the courts. The relief that I'm being asked to give today impinges, to some degree, on the public perception of both," Kaplan said of the lawsuit, which sought to preserve redistricting lines in New York state that a court had already ruled unconstitutional. "And I'm not going to do that."

It's been a rough month for Elias, the man former president Barack Obama tapped to lead his post-presidential initiative to expand "voting rights" and the Democratic Party's premier legal attack dog. Just last week, Special Counsel John Durham accused Elias, who represented Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign—and who every election cycle counts virtually every powerful Democrat as a client—of lying about his relationship with the opposition research firm he retained to assist that campaign.

Elias's tactics are now drawing rebukes from judges, prosecutors, and even fellow Democrats, who say his hard-charging nature is hurting the party. Elias is publicly reeling. He last month scrubbed years of posts from his Twitter feed and hasn't explained why. The move comes less than a year after he decamped from the white-shoe law firm Perkins Coie to found his own law firm—ostensibly to engage "more fully" in the "political process," though some speculate the firm was increasingly uncomfortable with Elias's tactics and the scrutiny of the Durham probe. Durham indicted Elias's partner, Michael Sussman, a month after Elias left.

"Elias has virtually limitless funding and will challenge any voting law anywhere if he thinks doing so will help his party," said the Honest Elections Project's Jason Snead. "His strategy often backfires since many of the cases are weak or frivolous. Some of Elias's allies on the left criticize his strategy and judgment." (Washington Free Beacon) Read more.

A Script: Contacting Your Member of
Congress to Stand Against the Global Pandemic Treaty
The following is offered by Maureen Bravo, Founder, the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Network:

Many of you have asked for a script to be used when contacting our Senators and Representatives regarding the upcoming WHO vote we have been praying about in our recent focuses. The following draft can be used as an email or phone script. (Edit and use as desired.) Our thanks to Beverly (CA), Carol (IL), and Sylvia (TX) who contributed to it.
Dear <Senator or Representative>,

As Americans, we have sole control over our nation’s healthcare system, and our national sovereignty, We do not acknowledge any other power over our citizens or land. Whatever vote takes place at the World Health Assembly (WHA) MUST NOT BE ALLOWED to regulate or govern us. As Americans, we take seriously the severity of this threat to everything free people hold dear. I am asking you to stand AGAINST the World Health Organization (WHO) and the proposed 13-treaty amendment vote which is taking place at the 75th World Health Assembly, May 22-28. Ratification of these amendments would effectively abolish the sovereignty of the United States of America. Please use the authority, given to you by the citizens of our great state and nation, to STOP this from moving forward.

Thank you.

Beachfront homes along Outer Banks
keep crumbling into the ocean
With a storm system stalled off the East Coast, the Atlantic Ocean claimed two more homes this week -- one of which was caught on video -- and officials warn that more homes are in danger.

The Atlantic Ocean claimed two more beachfront homes along North Carolina's famous Outer Banks Tuesday. Dramatic video released by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore shows waves crashing on the crumbled homes on Hatteras Island, which is in Rodanthe, North Carolina.

One video even captured the shocking moment a house succumbed to the ocean as the high tide crept up Tuesday afternoon. The homes that fell into the Atlantic Tuesday aren't the first to collapse into the ocean and they won't be the last, according to local officials.

In a news release, the Cape Hatteras National Seashore confirmed the first house, located on Ocean Drive, was unoccupied when it collapsed early Tuesday morning before the sun rose. The second house, located adjacent to the first house on Ocean Drive, was also unoccupied when it fell into the ocean, according to a news release from the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Read More

God Has Identified the Perfect Match:

Nebraska Associate Pastor to Receive Kidney from Church's Lead Pastor
An associate pastor in Nebraska who needs a kidney transplant says he is "overwhelmed and overjoyed with love" after finding out that the matching donor is the lead pastor of his own church. Fighting back tears, Pastor Walter Hooker addressed the congregation at Bellevue Christian Center last Sunday to reveal the exciting news. The heartwarming moment was shared via video on the church's Facebook page. "Folks it does me great pleasure to introduce to you the donor that UNMC has identified as my match but more importantly, the donor that God has identified as the perfect match, my friend, my pastor, Andy Kaup," Hooker said.

In June 2021, Pastor Hooker began the screening process to be placed on the kidney transplant list at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Shortly after that, Kaup completed the tests to see if he was a match. Hooker told the congregation that his kidneys are only functioning at about 10 percent, and he goes to dialysis three days a week. He said 10 to 15 individuals came forward to see if they could be his donor, including Kaup. "As we went through the various phases, we continued to dream if God was really going to do this," Hooker told church members. "When Andy completed his full-day screening at UNMC, we began to get really excited. Andy was informed by UNMC he was a matching donor for me."

Kaup also explained that having faith in God's plan has remained the central focus. "Several months ago, as it became a reality what was going on with Hook, his body, his kidneys, and everything that was taking place, I can remember hearing Hook and Melba talk over and over again talk about the story that God was writing," Kaup said. "How, even though things looked impossible, and things looked scary.  I mean beyond scary. Most of us have no idea how bad things really were, and yet, the two of them and their family as a whole just continued to say God is working something out in the midst of this."

Kaup pointed out it wasn't a coincidence he was a match, rather God was making a way for it to happen. "One of the things that I've learned about God in each and every step is that He's constantly inviting us into His story. He's always got room for you to step in and to watch what He can do and to just let Him move in your life. The trick is that it's just up to us to be obedient. And that's our heart in this. It was just to be obedient," the pastor said.

Whispering Hope

Scripture:  Hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast. Hebrews 6:19

Lyrics:
Soft as the voice of an angel,
Breathing a lesson unheard,
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word:
Wait till the darkness is over,
Wait till the tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow,
After the shower is gone.

Refrain
Whispering hope, oh how welcome thy voice,
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

If, in the dusk of the twilight,
Dim be the region afar,
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glimmering star?
Then when the night is upon us,
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over,
Watch for the breaking of day.

Refrain

Hope, as an anchor so steadfast,
Rends the dark veil for the soul,
Whither the Master has entered,
Robbing the grave of its goal.
Come then, O come, glad fruition,
Come to my sad weary heart;
Come, O Thou blest hope of glory,
Never, O never depart.

Refrain
