The Biden administration has quietly declared war on charter schools
The decades-long honeymoon between Democrats and charter schools was too good to last.
. . . with Democrats going woke and a new president in town, the US Department of Education has declared war on charter schools, using obscure bureaucratic rulemaking to kill the federal charter-school program without having to explain why.
On March 11, a Friday when media attention was focused on Ukraine and the Senate’s Thursday-night passage of the $1.5 trillion bill to fund federal-government agencies for the rest of the fiscal year, the Biden administration’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education issued 13 pages of rules designed to cut off charter schools from federal support and that will likely serve as a model for state regulations limiting charters.
The administration’s proposals clearly took months to prepare, and their publication not even 24 hours after the key funding vote cleared the Senate, and after important House and Senate votes gave charter supporters in both parties less clout to bargain for changes, was timed to get as little notice as possible.
The administration is also employing a truncated comment process. That may sound arcane, but here’s why it matters for democratic governance. In accord with the 1946 Administrative Procedures Act, to ensure transparency, proposed new regulations are published in the Federal Register, with lengthy public-comment periods before rules are finalized. This gives time for experts, interest groups and the public to offer input, making regulations both more legitimate and more realistic.
. . . the proposed rules require reporting on the “racial and socio-economic diversity of students and teachers in the charter school, and the impact of the charter school on racial and socio-economic diversity in the public school district.” In the real world, many charter schools exist to serve low-income students, so their demographics differ from those of the surrounding school district.
Again in the name of “equity,” this change would slash funding to charter schools and encourage their opponents to attack as “racist” charter schools that provide education options to the (overwhelmingly minority) parents who need them most. (Read more here)

- Lord God, first of all, we thank you for this article, showing us what the Biden Administration perpetrated against our Charter Schools while all of us have been watching the war in Ukraine. We now see that "the wolf is at the door," trying to cause the ending of the charter school movement, and removing one option that parents have enjoyed as they have chosen the best schools for their children to attend.
Now that we see "the writing on the wall," we ask that parents would rise up and contact their own members of Congress and the Senate to prevent these new rules from being established. Thank You, O Lord, for hearing our prayer, amen and amen!

1. Gun seizures, administrative detention, and social media monitoring - Israel National News
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett ordered security officials Monday to use administrative arrests, seizures of illegal firearms, and monitoring of social media activity to help boost efforts to clamp down on the rise in terrorism.
The prime minister held an assessment of the security situation Monday during which he was presented with operational and intelligence updates following the recent terrorist attacks.
Bennett said during the assessment that Israel finds itself in a "new situation" that requires the security establishment to prepare and adapt to circumstances in which extremist segments of the Arab sector, guided by an extreme Islamist ideology, engage in terrorism. (Read more)
2. ‘Adopting the Palestinian narrative’: MKs fume over Bennett’s wording in talks with Blinken - World Israel News
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is facing harsh criticism after calling Judea and Samaria the “West Bank,” and his political opponents are calling for the toppling of his government.
Speaking at a press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday, Bennett, who ran on a right-wing ticket, said his government was “working hard to improve the lives of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.”
“Such an expression is another deterioration of the government’s values,” said Yigal Dilmoni, director-general of the Yesha Council, an umbrella organization for councils and organizations from Judea and Samaria — which Bennett once headed.
“It is added to the freeze of construction [in Judea and Samaria] and the turning of its backon the Israeli communities. Such a government must go home,” Dilmoni demanded. (Read more)
3. Border Police officers identified as victims of Hadera terror attack - YNET
The victims of Sunday's deadly terror attack in Hadera were identified as Border Police officers Yezen Falah and Shirel Abukarat, both 19. “The two officers died in battle this evening with armed terrorists,” the Border Police said in a statement.
The police said three other officers were injured in the attack.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement posted on its Telegram account.
Falah, a resident of the Druze village of Kisra-Sumei in northern Israel enlisted in the Border Police a year ago and is survived by his parents and a brother and sister, police said. Abukarat, a resident of Netanya, enlisted in the force 6 months ago and is survived by her parents and a brother, the statement said. (Read more)
4. ISIS Claims Responsibility for Hadera Attack, 2nd Without Intelligence Warning - Jewish Press
ISIS has issued a statement accepting responsibility for the attack in Hadera in which two Border Police officers Yazan Fallah and Shirel Aboukaret, both 19, were killed. The ISIS proclamation stated that “machine gun clashes took place between the parties. As a result, two from the Jewish police were killed and ten others were injured.” The ISIS news agency cited Israeli security sources who suggested the two terrorists were fighters affiliated with the “kalifate.”
ISIS also mentioned that Muhammad Abu Alqian, the terrorist who perpetrated the murderous attack a few days earlier, in Be’er Sheva, was affiliated with ISIS. This claim of responsibility by ISIS is the first since 2017 when it claimed responsibility for an attack that its people allegedly carried out in Jerusalem.
From the long and detailed videos released Sunday night, it appears that the two terrorists in Hadera had been trained in the use of weapons, and showed composure under fire. At first, one of them is seen firing a gun, and later both are seen firing M-16 rifles. (Read more)
5. Announcing permanent regional forum, Israel, Arab states laud alliance, decry terror - Times of Israel
At their historic summit in the Israeli Negev town of Sde Boker on Monday, the top diplomats of Israel, the US and four Arab nations announced that the conference would be the first iteration of a permanent regional forum, as they reaffirmed the importance of growing ties between Israel and the broader Middle East.
The foreign ministers of Israel, Egypt, Bahrain, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates and the US secretary of state all condemned terrorism, a day after an attack in the city of Hadera in which two Border Police officers were shot dead.
The unprecedented gathering was widely seen as an attempt by Israel and its Arab allies to create a front against shared regional foe Iran. Israeli officials told reporters on the scene that the talks centered around creating a “regional security architecture,” among other issues. (Read more)
President Joe Biden will announce a new minimum tax targeting billionaires as part of his 2023 fiscal year budget on Monday, according to the White House.
The Biden administration announced the proposal on Saturday in a fact sheet ahead of the budget release, stating that the president’s plan “rewards work, not wealth.”
“President Biden’s Billionaire Minimum Income Tax will make America’s tax code fairer and reduce the deficit by about $360 billion in just the next decade,” the fact sheet stated.
As part of his 2023 budget, Biden is asking Congress to pass legislation mandating the richest American families to pay a minimum of 20 percent on all of their income, including unrealized investment income.
Biden has long advocated for higher taxes on billionaires, but this is the first time the White House is proposing a plan that directly targets billionaires. So far, Biden’s attempts to tax billionaires have failed due to opposition from Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.).
- Lord, does this action open the door for higher taxes on everyone, not just “billionaires?” We pray that only Your will be done in this issue.

Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., contends Democrats have a stake in digging for more details about the FBI breaking its own rules to probe elected officials, political candidates, religious organizations and the news media.
The FBI conducted an internal audit, a highly redacted version of which came to light earlier this month, that found 747 "compliance errors" across 353 separate cases in the category of "sensitive investigative matters." The bureau acknowledged the 2019 audit findings were "unacceptable."
While the FBI has faced increased scrutiny in recent years for alleged politicized investigations into former President Donald Trump, the problems apparently are much broader and likely go beyond the report, said Biggs, a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
- Lord, the agencies charged with protecting Americans have gone rogue and are actively attacking the citizens. We ask that You bring to light any actions that are not in Your heart for all who love You.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., argued on Sunday that the "likeliest thing you are going to see" from Russian President Vladimir Putin is his trying to use chemical or biological weapons "in a way that makes it look like someone else did it."
He argued that he made that prediction based on Putin’s history and pointed to an example.
"When chemical weapons were deployed in Syria, clearly [Syrian tyrant Bashar al-Assad] Assad was behind it, but he [Putin] spent weeks sort of building up this notion that somehow the rebels and the opposition to Assad were the ones who were going to use chemical weapons and did," Rubio told host Maria Bartiromo during an exclusive interview on "Sunday Morning Futures."

President Joe Biden’s administration has eliminated United States tariffs on more than 350 products made in China, nearly all of which could be made in the U.S. or other countries.
The Section 301 tariffs on billions of dollars worth of China-made products were first imposed by former President Trump after a decades-long free trade consensus in Washington, D.C., that has eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the U.S. economy from 2001 to 2018.
Late last week, Biden’s U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Katherine Tai announced that after an extensive review process on nearly 550 China-made products subject to U.S. tariffs, the administration would eliminate tariffs on 352 of those products.
The China-made products that will escape U.S. tariffs thanks to Biden include breast pumps, solar water heaters, garage door openers, X-ray tables, and thermostats, as well as food products from China such as crab meat, Dungeness crab, and Alaskan sole.
- Lord, we pray that You will find a pathway into Biden’s mind to bring light and truth. Let only Your will be done regarding tariffs and China.

French President Emmanuel Macron warned against escalation Sunday regarding Ukraine, a day after President Biden said Russian President Vladimir Putin was a "butcher" who "cannot remain in power."
"I wouldn't use this type of wording because I continue to hold discussions with President Putin," Macron said Sunday during an appearance on France 3 TV channel. "We want to stop the war that Russia has launched in Ukraine without escalation -- that's the objective."
His main goal remained "achieving first a cease-fire" and then a "total withdrawal" of Russian troops from Ukraine through "diplomatic means," Macron told broadcasters Sunday. "If this is what we want to do, we should not escalate things -- neither with words nor actions."
- Lord, we're not sure Biden should be let out in public at this point, but we pray for Your mighty protection for the Western nations should anything he says be misconstrued by our enemies. We pray that Your Spirit would heal his mind and turn his direction to one more of Your heart.

It’s a wrong direction to choose a Supreme Court Justice candidate based on race and gender instead of merit and qualifications, said Ben Carson, the Housing and Urban Developing Secretary under the Trump administration.
“So many people fought for such a long time to make sure that we had equality of opportunity. And a lot of blood was shed. A lot of people went to prison. Then we just turn around and sort of throw all that out, and start saying, ‘We’re going to make the qualification something over which a person has no control—their external characteristics,’ and that’s moving in the wrong direction,” Carson told NTD’s “Capitol Report” program in a recent interview, referring to President Joe Biden’s pledge to send a black woman to the high court.
“We really have to stop that and start asking ourselves: what makes a person who they are? Is it their skin? Is it their hair? Or is it their brain?”
- Lord, we pray that more people will heed Dr Carson’s message. As we go forward into what’s next, we pray that Your Holy Spirit will bring repentance to the nation, and grant a wave of wisdom over all.

On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) reacted to the Biden administration floating the prospect of Russia buying enriched uranium from Iran under a revised Iran nuclear deal by stating that the idea makes no sense when Russia is threatening nuclear war and that the Biden administration’s policy is “maximum pressure on the United States of America.”
Wenstrup said, “Look, the maximum pressure campaign under the Trump administration was the best thing for America, for American security, and actually, for peace even in that part of the world with what we were doing. Now, you have a situation where they’re saying Russia can buy enriched uranium to stop Iran. That’s the message coming from Jake Sullivan…but Putin is the one who’s threatening nuclear warfare. This doesn’t make any sense.
And of course, it’s been reported that Biden would like for the United States to buy Iranian oil. This makes no sense. You know what? This whole thing is putting maximum pressure on the United States of America. But this is an attitude of this administration. … You know, the whole world is turning in on Russia and we’re sitting there working with them, actually making them stronger and us weaker.”
- Lord, sometimes we simply don’t understand the contrary decisions that plague our government. We pray that You will send a move of Your Spirit to bring conviction of sin and truth to bear.

U.S. and Israeli government leaders, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Texas state representatives, members of the Knesset and numerous leaders of Christian ministries and Israel alliance organizations, headlined the first-ever Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (JPB) in Dallas on Friday morning.
More than 800 Christians and Jews visiting from Israel, throughout Texas and across America attended the more than 3 ½-hour program, which included numerous prayers, readings from scripture and spiritual music representatives of both faiths.
“When Christians and Jews gather to pray together, history is made,” said Albert Veksler, JBP director and administrator of the event.
The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast is a global prayer movement that brings together government leaders and key influencers worldwide in prayer for the nation of Israel and its people. Initiated and chaired by former Knesset Member Robert Ilatov and co-chaired by former U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, it has spread to more than a dozen strategic cities of the world since the inaugural breakfast held in Jerusalem in 2017.

The Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children reportedly took in $3.9 million in 2020 but spent a smaller amount on assisting children, which is the charity’s mission.
As the New York Post reported on Saturday: The Delaware-based charity, which was started in honor of President Biden’s late son, got an infusion of $1.8 million from the Biden Foundation before that group shut down in 2020, according to the charities’ latest tax filings.

The Beau Biden charity also took in $225,000 from entities tied to a top political donor and bundler to President Biden.
Despite the $2 million-plus windfall, the organization put only $544,961 in 2020 toward its stated purpose of protecting children from abuse, according to tax filings.
The Beau Biden Foundation website says it believes “child abuse can be prevented through effectively educating adults and children, developing the next generation of child welfare professionals and strengthening child protection laws around the country.”
- Lord, we pray that not only this charity, but others who are failing to give properly be turned around and brought into alignment with Your heart.
- “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
The pushback continues against Joe Biden’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) rules, put into place in February to consider greenhouse gas emissions and “vulnerable” communities when permitting natural gas pipelines, including criticism from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV).
“At a time when we should be looking for ways to expedite the approval of these important projects, the Commission has chosen on a purely partisan basis to do the exact opposite,” McConnell wrote in a draft of the letter he sent to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), obtained by Politico. “Erecting new roadblocks to affordable, abundant energy makes no sense, particularly in this tenuous time.”
- Lord, we pray that You will move on the FERC to loosen all restrictions so that our nation can once again be energy independent. In the meantime, we pray for all those who are suffering from everything from high gas prices to being unable to afford to heat their home. You are Jehovah Jireh, the great Provider!

The US special envoy to Iran on Sunday chilled expectations that a new nuclear deal between Iran and world powers was imminent as 11 months of talks stalled amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
”I can’t be confident it is imminent. … A few months ago we thought we were pretty close as well,” Robert Malley said at the Doha Forum international conference in Qatar.
“In any negotiations, when there’s issues that remain open for so long, it tells you something about how hard it is to bridge the gap. ”
But Malley’s assessment of the Biden administration’s efforts to revive the 2015 deal brokered by the Obama White House was at odds with comments from an Iranian official.
“Yes, it’s imminent. It depends on the political will of the United States,” Kamal Kharrazi, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said at the conference.

America doesn’t need Joe Biden creating a war with misspoken words, the Constitutional Republic of the United States already is at war. It is a war unlike any faced before in history. This is a war where the intent is to create enough casualties to take over the economic wealth without destroying the wealth generating power and by establishing collectivism. This is accomplished by population reduction and control of the remaining populace. The perfect facilitator was Obama’s socialized medicine where government dictates the ebb and flow of life and death through 1) control of the treatment protocols, 2) leverage over the healthcare providers, and 3) control of the population through fear of death. It is a war within.
The perfect collaborators are unethical and cooperative corporations motivated by greed and a corporate media to fearmonger, censor dissent, and create social disruption motivated by a socialist political agenda. There are willing dupes on the extreme left and right that drive unfounded conspiracy narratives that tend to paralyze the general population from taking action. But make no mistake, every crisis is a preamble to reduce freedom. COVID gave the government precedent to lockdown your ability to freely move and interact; allowed the government and the media to censor both those who objected, and doctors and scientists who challenged the government mandates of treatment. Now the crisis in Ukraine is given way to price increases that further limit individual freedoms. Read More

In Poland last week, President Biden threw rhetorical matches into a potential nuclear tinder box. His suggestion that the 82nd Airborne would soon be in Ukraine and his subsequent declaration that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power” invited preemptive action by the Kremlin.
Our PresentDangerChina.org webinar last week established that, given Putin’s doctrine, preparations and paranoia, such loose talk could well precipitate his first-use of nuclear weapons. The speed with which the White House walked back both statements suggests the magnitude of the danger.
Several conclusions follow from this latest Biden debacle: One, It’s time for Joe to go. Two, if he won’t resign, the 25th Amendment must be invoked to remove him. And, three, a new, non-partisan vice president must be appointed, one with a robust national security background who will promise not to run in 2024.

207-old shipwreck discovery reveals hidden US maritime history
The ship went down after a storm in 1838 and was the only one of its kind ever discovered in the Gulf of Mexico. Researchers say it is helping them to piece together a rich history of mariners of the time.
A recent 207-year shipwreck discovery is showcasing the history of Black and Native Americans in one of the nation's oldest industries.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and its partners announced the discovery of a 207-year-old whaling ship at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday. The 64-foot long, two-masted wooden brig is helping researchers learn more about a little known time period of American History. The ship was first discovered on Feb. 25 off the coast of Pascagoula, Mississippi, which is located along the southeastern coastline of the state about 40 miles southwest of Mobile, Alabama.
"Today we celebrate the discovery of a lost ship that will help us better understand the rich story of how people of color succeeded as captains and crew members in the nascent American whaling industry of the early 1800s," NOAA Administrator Rick Spinrad, Ph.D said in a news release from NOAA.
Spinrad explained that the discovery reflects the prosperity of African Americans and Native Americans in the ocean economy during a time when they were facing discrimination and other injustices. Read More

Prophecy Told KY Church Years Ago to Prep for Refugees
- Their Bake Sale Just Raised $145,000 to Help Ukrainians
Last weekend, a bake sale at a Ukrainian church located in Nicholasville, Kentucky raised a whopping $145,000 for Ukrainian refugees. NPR reports hundreds of people filled the lobby of the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church after the doors opened on Saturday morning. Visitors attending the sale were given lunch and the opportunity to buy baked goods. One couple attending the sale, Gary and Linda Fleck, told NPR why they stopped by. "We came to buy some baked goods and support the Ukrainians in the issues that are going on right now," Linda said. "There are so many refugees who need help. And we're just trying to do what we can in order to help those people who've been displaced by the war," Gary explained.
Victor Selepina, the organizer of the church's fundraiser, said he was shocked by how many people showed up. "Very surprised - as in, just overwhelmed with gratitude," he told NPR. "Honestly, it's just been great to see people come together like that - the community just - and help out and do what they can. Absolutely. It's amazing." Many members of the Nicholasville church, like Paul Kononets, still have family back in Ukraine. "I have my cousins, my aunts and uncles there," Kononets told the outlet. "They are on the western part of Ukraine, which is not struggling as much. But they have a lot of people who's actually coming from north and east right now. So they're actually opening up their homes, trying to get as many people as they can."
Selepina explained that years ago, the church had a prophecy to be prepared for refugees."It was a prophecy in our church. And people know that. Every single individual knows that. So we're definitely getting prepared," he said. The money that was raised by the bake sale will be given to churches in Ukraine with ties to the Kentucky church. That though the wrong
Seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.

And earth and Heav’n be one.

In a bush ablaze to my wondering gaze
God makes His glory known.

A wanderer I may roam;
Whate’er my lot, it matters not,
My heart is still at home.
