White House: We’ll Try to Undo Some Debt Bill Concessions in Future Bill
|
|
On Thursday’s broadcast of NPR’s “Morning Edition,” White House National Economic Council Deputy Director Bharat Ramamurti stated that the Biden administration plans to try to get some of the concessions it made in the debt limit bill back in future legislation.
Host Leila Fadel asked, “A lot of progressives, including your former boss, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), are really unhappy. She called parts of the deal, ‘really bad’ because of the work requirements for people seeking food relief, concessions on student debt repayments, climate change, and no new taxes on the wealthy. What is the administration’s message to progressives like Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who will soon be voting on this?”
Ramamurti responded, “Well, look, as the President has said, this is a compromise. And a compromise means that nobody gets exactly what they want. There are certainly elements of this agreement where we share some of these concerns, where we think that, if it were up to us, we wouldn’t have included it, but they were priorities for the Republican Party. And, in a world where we have divided government, the deal is going to have to reflect that reality.” (Breitbart) Read more. |

Migrants Entering U.S. Through Canadian Border Sector Exceed Prior Four Years Combined
|
|
Swanton Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more migrants who illegally crossed the border this year than in the previous four years combined. While the numbers dropped slightly in May the shocking trend continues.
Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia tweeted a report revealing that since the beginning of Fiscal Year 23 on October 1, his agents encountered more migrants that during the previous four years combined.
According to an unofficial Border Patrol report reviewed by Breitbart Texas, Swanton Sector agents apprehended more than 450 migrants in May. This brings the total for FY23 apprehensions in this sector to more than 3,800 migrants. During just the past two months, agents apprehended more migrants than during the entire year in FY22. Mike Pence Will Not Face Criminal Charges Over Classified Documents Scandal: Reports
|
|
Former Vice President Mike Pence will reportedly not face criminal charges in the federal investigation into his handling of classified materials after an attorney for Pence found classified documents at his home earlier this year.
The news comes as Pence is expected to announce next week that he is entering the 2024 presidential race.
“The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department’s National Security Division have conducted an investigation into the potential mishandling of classified information,” the Justice Department wrote to Pence’s attorney in a letter obtained by several news organizations. “Based on the results of that investigation, no criminal charges will be sought.” (Daily Wire) Read more here. |

Chinese warship meets US destroyer in Taiwan Strait, military says
|

|
Chinese warship came within 150 yards (137 meters) of a US destroyer in the Taiwan Strait in "an unsafe manner," US military officials said, as China blamed the United States for "deliberately provoking risk" in the region.
US and Canadian navies on Saturday were conducting a joint exercise in the strait, which separates the island of Taiwan and China, when the Chinese ship cut in front of the US guided-missile destroyer Chung-Hoon forcing it to slow down to avoid a collision, the US Indo-Pacific Command said in a statement.
The People's Republic of China (PRC) has claimed self-ruled Taiwan as its territory since the defeated Republic of China government fled to the island in 1949 after losing a civil war to Mao Zedong's communists. Taiwan's government says the PRC has never ruled the island and US President Joe Biden has said the US would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion. (Jerusalem Post) Read more.

1. Anti-government activists protest at Western Wall - Israel National News
Dozens of left-wing activists from the Achim Laneshek protest group demonstrated on Monday evening against the government at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
Under the headline "Liberating the Western Wall Again and Swearing Allegiance to Democracy," the demonstrators were called to arrive at the entrance to the holy site. "Come show respect to the paratroopers who liberated the Western Wall," the notices read.
The demonstration itself was held outside the Western Wall plaza after the Western Wall Heritage Foundation prohibited the event. (Read more)

2. Hadash-Ta’al meets with Netanyahu as Arab MKs search for answer to rampant bloodshed - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the Knesset’s majority Arab Hadash-Ta’al party on Monday night, as unchecked crime in Arab communities claimed its 91st murder victim since the start of 2023.
Following the meeting, Hadash-Ta’al chief MK Ayman Odeh tweeted, “We do not hang our hopes on talk; the test will be results.”
Senior party lawmaker Ahmad Tibi added, “Crime is running rampant like a cancer that threatens to destroy our society,” and said that his party asked to step up efforts against stolen military weapons being smuggled to the Arab street. (Read more)

3. EU right-wing alliance defies Brussels, holds conference in Jerusalem - Israel Hayom
Members of the alliance of right-wing parties ECR (European Conservatives and Reformists) in the European Parliament arrived in Israel over the weekend to hold one of the group's two annual conferences in Jerusalem.
Despite being part of the EU's legislative body, the organization, of which the Israeli Likud is also a member, defied Brussels' stance that the Israeli capital should not have official EU recognition as such because it is in dispute.
NO EU country has so far moved its embassy to Jerusalem, and thus, holding this conference is a show of solidarity by de facto legitimizing Israel's claim.
The alliance has 66 members from 14 parties from around the world. So far, its members have succeeded in passing European Parliament, and the data even show that ECR has voted the most times in favor of Israel. (Read more)

4. Mossad meeting on capsized boat in Italy was on secret Iran-related mission – report - World Israel News
A secret meeting between Mossad and Italian intelligence personnel that ended in tragedy when the boat they were on capsized earlier this week was held with the purpose of preventing Tehran from obtaining advanced unconventional weapons, the Italian La Repubblica newspaper reported over the weekend.
Four people were killed when the yacht sank, including one former Mossad agent and two Italian intelligence agents. The wife of the ship’s captain also died.
The ill-fated yacht carried a total of 24 individuals at the time that it capsized, including two crew members and 22 passengers.
Among them were 10 Israeli intelligence officers and several Italian officers, both active and retired. (Read more)

5. Tens of thousands attend ‘Celebrate Israel Parade’ in New York - JNS
The “Celebrate Israel Parade” marched up Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue on Sunday, marking New York City’s solidarity with the Jewish state and celebrating the 75th anniversary of Israel’s founding.
The traditional parade, billed as “the world’s largest expression of solidarity with the Jewish state,” proceeds from 57th Street to 74th Street. This year’s was the 58th annual parade, which has run since 1965, and is produced by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.
More than 40,000 people took part in the festive event, which featured 30 floats, musical performances, politicians and celebrities. Among those participating were New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York Sen. Chuck Schumer. (Read more)

1. Exclusive – House China Chief: United States Deep into ‘New Cold War’ with Chinese Communist Party- Breitbart
Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), the chairman of the newly created U.S. House Select Committee on China, told Breitbart News exclusively that the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are deep into a “new Cold War.”
Gallagher’s bold characterization of years-long rising tensions between the two world powers, as the official authority of the U.S. House of Representatives on the matter, as a “Cold War” much like the decades-long one the United States eventually won against the now-defunct Soviet Union is a major escalation.

The point of Cold War, in some sense, is to achieve your objectives without having to resort to hot war. Like the Soviets before them and as Winston Churchill said at the beginning of the old Cold War, of course they don’t want war—they want the fruits of war without having to go to war. 2. Biden Admin Closes Off More US Lands To Oil And Gas Drilling – Daily Caller
The Biden administration on Friday ordered a 20-year ban on new oil and gas drilling leases within 10 miles of the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico, according to multiple reports.
The moratorium — which the Department of Interior initially began considering in November 2021 — is a long-sought goal of several local politicians, conservation groups and Native American tribes that want to preserve the centuries-old Pueblo ruins located there, although some tribes have opposed the ban for limiting future economic opportunities, according to E&E News.
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, herself New Mexican and the nation’s first Native American Cabinet member, was directly lobbied to end drilling near the park by members of the Pueblo Action Alliance, a Native American activism organization which her daughter Somah belongs to, with the group’s executive director affectionately referring to her as “Auntie Deb” in an interview after the fact. 3. Utah School District Reportedly Pulls Bible From Elementary, Junior High School Libraries Over ‘Inappropriate’ Material – Daily Caller
A Utah school district will remove the Bible from its elementary and junior high school libraries, according to ABC4.
The Davis School District plans to remove copies of the King James Bible from certain libraries in response to an unidentified individual allegedly complaining the Bible contained inappropriate material, ABC4 reported Thursday. While the Bible will purportedly be removed from elementary and junior high school libraries, it will remain in high schools.
The unidentified individual allegedly claimed the Bible violates a 2022 state law related to “sensitive materials in schools” and reportedly expressed frustration over other books being removed by school libraries, The Salt Lake Tribune reported in March 2023. (Read more)

4. Supreme Court Rules 8-1 Against Union Bosses Seeking To Dodge Liability For Property Damage – Daily Caller
The Supreme Court ruled 8-1 Thursday against union bosses seeking to avoid liability in state court for deliberately damaging property as part of a strike.
SCOTUS rejected the argument made by the Teamsters unions in Glacier Northwest v. International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 174 that the union should be granted immunity under the National Labor Relations Act (NRLA) from a lawsuit filed by Washington-based concrete company Glacier Northwest. Justice Amy Coney Barrett delivered the opinion of the court and Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson was the lone dissenter.
The decision is a victory for right-to-work advocates, who argue for worker freedom from mandatory union dues and other coercive practices. The National Right to Work Foundation filed an amicus brief in the case in support of Glacier Northwest.
“The Supreme Court correctly ruled that union officials should not be granted immunity from state lawsuits over deliberate property damage perpetrated during union strike actions. The issue in Glacier Northwest, however, represents only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to union bosses’ special legal privileges – especially concerning the powers union officials have over rank-and-file workers,” National Right to Work Foundation President Mark Mix said in a statement. 5. Comer To Review FBI Doc Containing $5 Million Biden Bribery Allegation - Daily Wire
Top lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee will review an FBI document containing allegations that President Joe Biden received a multi-million-dollar bribe from an “adversarial country” on Monday.
Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) will review the document in a secured facility, known as the SCIF, for reviewing sensitive intelligence. The document will not be handed over to Congress, despite recent reports suggesting otherwise.
“Chairman Comer will receive a briefing from the FBI and review the document on Monday. Chairman Comer has been clear that anything short of producing the FD-1023 form to the House Oversight Committee is not compliance with his subpoena. This unclassified record contains pages of details that need to be investigated further by the House Oversight Committee,” an Oversight Committee spokesperson told The Daily Wire in a statement.
Congressional Republicans, led by Comer, have threatened to hold the FBI and Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena for the 1023 form. Comer and his committee have led an investigation into allegations of influence peddling and corrupt dealings involving members of Biden’s family. (Read more)

6. Leaked documents show Iran plotting to Increase attacks against U.S. troops in Syria – JustTheNews
U.S. intelligence officials say in recently leaked documents that the Islamic Republic of Iran is arming militants in Syria for a new phase of deadly attacks against American troops while working with Russia to drive U.S. influence from the region.
According to the classified intelligence reports revealed Thursday, Tehran and its regional allies are creating and training forces to use armor-piercing roadside bombs to target American military vehicles and kill U.S. personnel.
Officials say such planned attacks are in fact part of Tehran’s long-running campaign of using proxy militias to launch rocket and drone strikes on U.S. forces in Syria.
However, information from another classified intelligence document shows new efforts by Moscow, Damascus and Tehran to push the U.S. from Syria, allowing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to reconquer eastern Syrian provinces now controlled by U.S.-backed Kurdish forces.
“Iran has been waging a shadow war against the United States since the Iranian Revolution of 1979, aimed at kicking the U.S. out of the Middle East, diminishing America’s power and reach by either subordinating or reducing rival local powers and augmenting their own power by aligning closely with China and Russia, America’s two principal rivals on the world stage," said Brandon Weichert, author of the forthcoming book "The Shadow War; Iran’s Quest for Supremacy" and senior editor of 19FortyFive.com. 7. Federal GAO bans gendered terms ‘policeman,’ ‘man-made’ and more, leaked memo shows: Report – America Military News
The Biden administration is facing criticism after the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reportedly implemented a ban on male and female terms.
According to a leaked internal memo from October recently obtained by the Daily Mail, the GAO, which serves as the government’s watchdog organization, issued a new language style guide that prohibits the use of gender-specific terms and “wording that diminishes anyone’s dignity.”
The memo states that inclusive language aligns with the GAO’s mission of appropriately addressing all members of society while respecting their identities and preferences. The style guide suggests alternative terms like “artificial,” “synthetic,” or “manufactured” to replace “man-made” and replaces “manned” with “crewed” or “piloted.” Other words banned include “manpower,” “unmanned,” and “policeman.”
The memo also emphasizes the distinction between sex and gender identity and advises against equating the two. (Read more)

8. Federal judge rules Tennessee restrictions on drag shows unconstitutional - The Hill
A federal judge ruled on Friday that a Tennessee law banning drag shows in public or in places where children could view them is unconstitutional, finding that it violates freedom of speech protections.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker said in his ruling that the law, which Gov. Bill Lee (R) signed in March, is both “unconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad.”
The law says an “adult cabaret performance” is unlawful if it happens on public property or in a location where the performance “could be viewed by a person who is not an adult.” It defines such a performance as one that is harmful to minors and includes topless dancers, “exotic” dancers, strippers and male or female impersonators.
Parker had issued a preliminary injunction at the end of March to block the law from taking effect. He agreed with Friends of George’s, a Memphis-based theater group that produces drag performances, comedy sketches and plays, that the state’s Adult Entertainment Act (AEA) could apply “just about anywhere.” (Read more)

The trend these days is about “being seen.” Everybody wants to be seen. There are podcasts about being seen. Millions of people are on social media because they want to be seen. If people don’t feel “seen,” they don’t feel like the world around them is appreciating them or valuing them. People dress to be seen. They buy certain products to be seen. We are arguably living in the most self-centered time in history because technology makes being seen easier than ever. The importance of being seen is directly linked to having value. The thirst and drive for the world to see a person’s value may well be due to an emptiness within or lack of understanding that being valued by the world has little to no eternal value.
Many people fear that they have no value if their friends or coworkers or church or even government doesn’t “see” them. Whether the world sees you or values you is inconsequential. In Matthew 10, Christ gathered together his twelve disciples and instructed them before he sent them out “to the lost sheep of Israel,” which was often a hostile environment. In Matthew 10:28, he said, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Christ goes on to tell his disciples that the world sees two sparrows valued for a penny, but that not one of them would fall to the ground apart from the will of God the Father. He concludes, “Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Read More

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Banned by Major Social Media Site, Campaign Pages Blocked

Twitter owner Elon Musk invited Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for a discussion on his Twitter Spaces after Kennedy said his campaign was suspended by Meta-owned Instagram.
“Interesting… when we use our TeamKennedy email address to set up @instagram accounts we get an automatic 180-day ban. Can anyone guess why that’s happening?” he wrote on Twitter. An accompanying image shows that Instagram said it “suspended” his “Team Kennedy” account and that there “are 180 days remaining to disagree” with the company’s decision.
In response to his post, Musk wrote: “Would you like to do a Spaces discussion with me next week?” Kennedy agreed, saying he would do it Monday at 2 p.m. ET.
Hours later, Kennedy wrote that Instagram “still hasn’t reinstated my account, which was banned years ago with more than 900k followers.” He argued that “to silence a major political candidate is profoundly undemocratic.”
“Social media is the modern equivalent of the town square,” the candidate, who is the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, wrote. “How can democracy function if only some candidates have access to it?”

FBI Director Agrees to Show Document Alleging Biden Bribery Scheme to House Oversight Leaders
|

FBI Director Christopher Wray has agreed to bring a subpoenaed document from the investigation into the Biden family to Capitol Hill for legislators to examine.
A spokesperson for House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) confirmed to The Epoch Times on June 2 that the lawmaker would be allowed to review the documents on June 5.
The panel’s top Democrat member, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), also will be able to review the document, CNN reported.
The document in question, an FD-1023, supposedly contains uncorroborated allegations that President Joe Biden, while serving as vice president, engaged in a bribery conspiracy to alter U.S. policy in exchange for monetary gain for his family’s businesses.
An FBI whistleblower informed Congress about the document and expressed concern that the allegations were never thoroughly investigated.
Comer and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) demanded to see the document, and Comer subsequently issued a subpoena.
Comer announced during an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on June 1 that he was drafting legislation to hold Wray in contempt of Congress. He spoke about a conversation that he and Grassley had with Wray and about the bureau’s lack of compliance with his congressional subpoena. (The Epoch Times) Read more.

Megalodon tooth necklace spotted in
digital scan of Titanic wreck

For more than a century, the necklace has sat at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean following the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, according to the deep water investigation company that carried out the 3D scan.
(CNN) — A necklace carrying the tooth of a prehistoric shark known as a megalodon has been discovered in the wreckage of the Titanic during a digital scan of the sunken ship.
For more than 100 years, the necklace has sat at the bottom of the ocean following the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, according to Magellan, a deep water investigation company that carried out the scan.
Images from the scan show a gold necklace with a tooth of a megalodon, scientifically known as Otodus megalodon, a prehistoric shark that lived more than 23 million years ago.
Megalodons were faster than any shark alive today and big enough to eat an orca in just five bites.
The necklace was discovered by Magellan during a project to produce a full-size digital scan of the Titanic, which the company says is the largest underwater scanning project in history.

Gaetz Gets "Child-Friendly’ Drag Show" Ejected From Military Base

Common sense celebrated a “huge victory” this week as inquiries from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led to the cancellation of a scheduled “child-friendly” drag show. The location? Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. It was scheduled to be held June 1 before being abruptly canceled. Gaetz asked Pentagon leaders how this event could be scheduled after they insisted that they did not support such “performances” on military bases. Top brass testified to the House Armed Services Committee in March that such shows were not allowed. The Republican tweeted that his demanding answers from leadership resulted in the show being axed. He added that these “drag shows should not be taking place on military installations with taxpayer dollars PERIOD!”
The Air Force base’s Pride Council posted that it is “saddened” to announce that the annual Pride Month Drag Show at Nellis AFB will not go on as scheduled. It explained that word came from the DoD to Commanders not to host drag events on military installations. All is not lost, however, as it then described other Pride Council events coming in June. These include a panel, a “Paint with Pride” event, a color run, a mixer, and a commemoration walk. Gaetz demanded answers from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley. Austin recently testified that the DoD does not support drag events on installations. According to NBC News, Milley was “visibly angry” when he learned of the event.
