14 GOP Governors Sending National Guard Troops and Resources to Texas to Secure Southern Border
|
|
Republican governors are sending National Guard troops to the southern border.
Governors of Arkansas, Iowa, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia announced this week they will send troops and resources to Texas to support the work of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Operation Lone Star to secure the southern border.
“President [Joe] Biden’s failure at our southern border puts the entire country at risk,” Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday. “States must now step up where the president has failed to repel illegals, fight the cartels, and stop human and drug trafficking.”
Sanders is sending 80 National Guard troops to the border in July. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt will send troop but has not clarified how many, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum also announced Thursday that he will send 100 National Guardsmen to Texas to help secure the southern border. Gov. Mike DeWine says he will send 14 State Highway troopers and supervisors to Texas for two weeks. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says she will deploy about 50 National Guard troops to the border this summer.
Arkansas, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, and South Dakota join nine other GOP governors who have already pledged to send troops and resources to Texas to help secure the state’s border with Mexico.

GOP Congressman to Resign, Shrinking Republican Majority
|
|
A GOP congressman announced May 31 that he will resign, a move that will reduce the party’s majority in the House of Representatives. Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah) said he would step down after arranging an “orderly transition.”
“It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve the good people of Utah in Congress. My wife and I have made so many dear friends and memories throughout our journey. I can say with pride that I have been an effective leader for my beloved home state, and I’m honored to have played an important role in guiding our nation through some troubled times,” Stewart said in a statement.
“But my wife’s health concerns have made it necessary that I retire from Congress after an orderly transition can be ensured,” he added. The specific health problems were not detailed, and Stewart’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
What’s Next
Under a new election law in Utah, Republican Gov. Spencer Cox has to, within seven days of the seat becoming vacant, issue a schedule for a primary and general special congressional election for the vacancy.
State lawmakers do have the option of stepping in and allowing a special election outside of the parameters outlined in the law. (The Epoch Times) Read more here

We just received a report from one of our colleagues in Geneva who attended the World Health Assembly. The World Health Organization (WHO) has a treaty and more than 300 amendments that continue to be discussed.
These amendments and treaty will change the WHO from an advisory body to a legally binding global authority.
However, our on-the-ground source has reported an interesting development, which I will share below.
This new development is the window of opportunity we were praying for and working diligently to achieve. Now is the time to stop this global takeover.
The U.S. House bill HR 79 would pull America out of the WHO and defund the WHO. Additionally, the House can defund the WHO in the upcoming budget. The House must hold hearings on the WHO and expose Biden’s plan. And the Senate must insist that Biden not try an end run around the Constitution.
The WHO used this recent meeting to tee up a final vote on the amendments and the treaty for the 2024 meeting. This is the break we desperately need to stop the WHO and rally more congressional support. But we cannot throttle back until this global takeover attempt is fully defeated. The WHO will convene another meeting next week.

Israel's Security cabinet set to meet to discuss threat of multi-front clash with Iran
|
|
The security cabinet is set to convene next week to discuss a potential multi-front conflict including Iran and Hezbollah, amid concerns over Tehran’s progress toward nuclear weapons capabilities.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant will also hold a security assessment before the security cabinet meets Sunday, Channel 12 news reported Thursday.
The meetings were set up amid escalated tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and Israeli warnings that a broad conflict could break out over the issue.
“I hear all the reports about Iran, so I have a sharp, clear message for Iran and the international community: Israel will do what it must to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear bomb,” Netanyahu said in a short video message.
Speaking at a military ceremony, Gallant responded to what his office called “recent developments regarding the Iranian nuclear issue.”
“The dangers facing the State of Israel are intensifying and we may be required to fulfill our duty in order to protect the integrity of Israel and especially the future of the Jewish people,” Gallant said. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

1. Netanyahu: IAEA ‘surrender’ to Iran a ‘black mark’ - JNS
The International Atomic Energy Agency’s “surrender” to Iran is a “black mark” on the U.N. nuclear watchdog’s record, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the beginning of Sunday’s weekly Cabinet meeting.
“About Iran, Iran is continuing to lie to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The agency’s capitulation to Iranian pressure is a black stain on its record,” said Netanyahu.
“We revealed information to the world when we brought to Israel Iran’s secret nuclear archive five years ago. This information unequivocally proved that Iran was violating the oversight agreements and that it was enriching uranium for military—not innocent civilian—purposes,” he added, referring to the Mossad’s 2018 theft of an entire archive of Iranian nuclear documents from Tehran. 2. Three Israeli soldiers, Egyptian security officer killed in border gunfire incident - Reuters
JERUSALEM/CAIRO, June 3 (Reuters) - Three Israeli soldiers and an Egyptian security officer were killed near the countries' border on Saturday, Israel and Egypt said, in an incident whose details remained unclear.
The countries said they were jointly investigating the matter.
The Israeli military said an Egyptian policeman shot and killed two of its soldiers while they secured a military post at the Egyptian border early on Saturday, after Israeli forces successfully thwarted a smuggling attempt overnight. (Read more)

3. Israel demands answers over attack on Egyptian border - Israel National News
Three IDF soldiers were killed over Shabbat (the Sabbath) in two incidents on the Israel-Egypt border. Israeli officials of all levels sent their condolences to the families of the fallen. Several parties are demanding a thorough investigation of the incident.
President Isaac Herzog commented: "Such a sad Saturday. We were horrified by the news of the death of three IDF soldiers in this morning's incidents at the Egyptian border. There are no words to describe the pain and loss. Along with the entire nation, I send my sincere condolences to their families and share in their mourning at this difficult time. We will preserve their memory and continue to defend our borders with determination."
Prime Minister Netanyahu commented: "The fatal incident at the Egyptian border during Shabbat is serious and unusual and will be thoroughly investigated. I would like to praise our forces who strived to make contact and eliminate the terrorist. 4. Israel sees more than 220 fires in one day due to heatwave - Jerusalem Post
Approximately 220 fires have broken out since Friday morning throughout Israel, largely caused by the extreme heat, Ynet reported.
Fire and rescue services were prepared to battle wildfires ahead of the heat wave and issued warnings to people not to light fires outdoors.
A large fire was reported to be raging in a pharmaceutical factory in Kiryat Malachi. The fire reportedly spread to where there are gas cylinders and the area is said to be very dangerous by Israel Fire and Rescue Services. (Read more)

5. At drill for war with Iran and others, PM says IDF ‘can handle any threat on our own’ - Times of Israel
Israel’s high-level security cabinet convened Sunday night at the military’s main operational command bunker in Tel Aviv to simulate decision-making by the political echelon during a potential multi-front war.
On May 29, the Israel Defense Forces launched the large-scale two-week drill across the country — dubbed Firm Hand — involving troops from the standing and reserve army, from nearly all units.
The drill has included the Air Force conducting simulated “strategic” strikes deep in enemy territory in an all-out war scenario, and the Navy carrying out mock offensive and defensive actions, according to a military source. (Read more)

6. Blinken, Jill Biden to skip Israel trips: Biden administration appears to be isolating Israel - JNS
On an upcoming trip to the Middle East and North Africa, Jill Biden, the U.S. first lady, plans to visit Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Portugal but not Israel. And Antony Blinken, the secretary of state, reportedly scrapped a planned trip to Israel, according to news reports.
On June 1, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement, which stated, in part: “I have heard all of the reports about Iran. I have a sharp and clear message for both Iran and the international community: Israel will do whatever it needs to do to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.”
The first lady “is expected to attend the wedding of the Jordanian Crown Prince—an unelected monarch whose country is majority Palestinian—as part of her visit. But she will skip the region’s only true democratic nation,” Joel Pollak reported in Breitbart.
“The Biden administration has refused to engage directly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who won Israel’s elections last November but has yet to receive a customary White House invitation,” Pollak added. “The Biden administration appears to be isolating Israel as a way to exert leverage within internal domestic Israeli politics, and over Israel’s policy on Iran and the Palestinians.” (Read more)

1. ‘Absurd Beyond Contemplation’: US Slams New Iranian Leadership Roles at UN - The Algemeiner
Iran on Thursday was elected to two new leadership roles at the United Nations in New York, eliciting a fierce rebuke from both the United States and Israel.
Speaking at the UN’s first committee, which is responsible for disarmament, US Alternative Representative for Special Political Affairs Ambassador Robert Wood said following Iran’s election as the committee’s rapporteur that Iran was unfit to serve given that the committee’s purpose is to “address the very security problems that Tehran itself perpetuates.”
“It is absurd beyond contemplation that Iran would serve in a position of leadership on the General Assembly’s committee on disarmament and international security,” Wood said.
Wood cited Iran’s support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, its nuclear and ballistic missile programs and its export of “violence and weaponry to neighboring countries, causing death and destruction from Syria to Iraq to Yemen, and elsewhere.” (Read more)

2. Iran plans to form naval alliance with Gulf states, India and Pakistan - I24 news
Iran’s navy commander Shahram Irani announced on Saturday that Tehran plans to form a naval alliance with three Gulf states, India and Pakistan.
According to Iranian media, the aim of the coalition is “to bring security” to the region.
"The countries of the region have today realized that only cooperation with each other brings security to the area," Irani was quoted as saying, adding the alliance would be formed soon.
The navy commander said the coalition would include the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Pakistan, and India. Earlier this week, the UAE, which has resumed formal relations with Iran last year, announced that it had withdrawn from the U.S.-led Combined Maritime Forces two months ago after evaluating “security cooperation with all partners.”
Iran has recently restored relations with several Gulf Arab states. In March, Saudi Arabia and Iran signed a China-mediated deal, stressing the need for regional stability and economic cooperation. (Read more)

3. Nevada’s ‘pro-life,’ Catholic GOP governor signs abortion bill endorsed by Planned Parenthood - LifeSite News
CARSON CITY, Nevada ( LifeSiteNews) — A self-professed Catholic and “pro-life” Republican governor signed pro-abortion legislation that codified his predecessor’s executive order and received the backing of Planned Parenthood.
Governor Joe Lombardo signed legislation on Tuesday that prohibits prosecution of abortionists in the state who break abortion laws in other states. The law essentially makes Nevada a safe haven for abortionists who want to secretly travel to pro-life states and commit abortions, as long as those are protected under Nevada law.
The signing fulfills a promise Lombardo made to never take any steps to prosecute abortionists or women for illegal abortions. “Joe is Catholic and pro-life, but Nevadans decided long ago that the issue of abortion should only be decided by Nevada voters themselves,” the governor wrote on his campaign website under the pro-abortion euphemism “Reproductive Health.”
Pro-life groups and the governor’s own part criticized Lombardo for signing the legislation.
“It says a lot that this bill which is supposedly about healthcare is being first heard in a Commerce committee, and not a health committee,” Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald wrote. “Nevada is a state known for tourism. Is abortion tourism really the tagline we want to use as an advertisement? ‘Come to Nevada, where our abortion limits are the same as China and North Korea?'” (Read more)

The already-crowded field for the Republican nomination for president is expected to grow next week, with four additional challengers expected to enter the competition for the party's nomination in 2024.

5. Spain's Catholic Church finds hundreds of alleged child abusers over eight decades - Reuters
MADRID, June 2 (Reuters) - An investigation by the Spanish Catholic Church into child sexual abuse by members of the clergy and non-clerical staff has so far identified 728 alleged abusers and 927 victims since the 1940s, according to its first report.
"We acknowledge the harm caused," said Jose Gabriel Vera, the spokesman for the Spanish Bishops' Conference. "We want to help all victims...to accompany them in their healing."
The issue came under a spotlight in Spain in 2021 after El Pais newspaper reported more than 1,200 alleged cases, years after sexual abuse scandals had rocked the Church in countries such as the U.S., Ireland and France. (Read more)

6. Wildfires spread in eastern Canada, forcing evacuations in coastal Quebec - Reuters
MONTREAL, June 2 (Reuters) - Some 10,000 residents in coastal Quebec were forced to evacuate homes on Friday as wildfires engulf more Canadian provinces, in what is emerging as one of the worst starts to the forest fire season.
The mayor of Sept-Iles, a coastal Quebec city, declared a local state of emergency on Friday, as wildfire risk led to evacuation orders in the region.
Quebec's Public Security Minister Francois Bonnardel said Friday afternoon that he had reached out to the federal government to seek the army's help.
Canadian armed forces have been deployed in western Canada since early May and troops were sent to Nova Scotia on Thursday. Help has also come from United States, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and more help is expected to arrive next week.
Some 30,000 people across Canada are displaced due to forest fires that are burning in nearly all of Canadian provinces. (Read more)

7. Tropical Storm Arlene forms in Gulf of Mexico to become first named storm of 2023 Atlantic hurricane season - CBS News
Arlene has sustained winds of up to 40 mph with even higher gusts, and is moving at just about 5 mph, although that movement speed is expected to "increase slightly" through the night, the center said. The storm's path shows it moving south toward Cuba, and it, for now, appears that it will lose some of its wind speed to once again be a tropical depression by Saturday morning.
The strong winds of the storm extend 70 miles outward, but the center said that the rain projected to hit central and south Florida is "not directly related to Tropical Storm Arlene." Those areas are forecast to receive 1 to 2 inches of rain through Saturday, with some areas seeing up to 5 inches.
"Regardless, the heavy rainfall could lead to isolate flash, urban, and small stream flooding impacts," the center warned.

8. At least 207 dead, over 1,000 injured in massive train crash in Odisha, India - Reuters
BHUBANESWAR, India, June 2 (Reuters) - At least 207 people were killed and 900 injured when two passenger trains collided in Odisha on Friday, according to government officials in the eastern Indian state, in India's deadliest rail accident in over a decade.
Sudhanshu Sarangi, the director general of the fire department in Odisha, told Reuters that 207 bodies had been recovered so far.
The collision occurred at about 7pm local time (1330 GMT) when the Howrah Superfast Express, running from Bangalore to Howrah, West Bengal, derailed and became entangled with the Coromandel Express, which runs from Kolkata to Chennai, railway officials said.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said authorities' priority was "removing the living to the hospitals". Rescue operations were underway at the site and "all possible assistance" was being given to those affected, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet. (Read more)

9. Biden envoy said to meet Iran’s UN ambassador as West looks to restart nuke contacts - Times of Israel
The Biden administration’s special envoy for Iran has reportedly held several recent meetings with the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations, as Western powers look to restart dialogue with Tehran on its expanding nuclear program.
According to a report Friday in the Financial Times, Robert Malley’s contacts with Amir Saeid Iravani were believed to be the first direct interaction between American and Iranian officials since then-president Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers in 2018.
The newspaper, which cited diplomats and analysts, noted Iravani was a senior member of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council before his posting to UN headquarters in New York last year. The council’s previous head, who was replaced last month, played a key role in the negotiations that led to the 2015 nuclear deal. (Read more)

Unseen footage released today by Just the News founder John Solomon shows a “Hollywood movie set” escape for Pelosi and her filmmaker daughter.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) began January 6, 2021, by mugging for the cameras—more specifically, a camera operated by her filmmaker daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, who just happened to record every moment of her mother’s movements on what would become one of the most infamous days in American history.
As a clearly tense Pelosi prepared to convene the joint session of Congress during which Republican members of the House and Senate planned to debate the Electoral College outcome in six states—Pelosi also is seen conducting a caucus video conference that morning criticizing Republican plans to delay certification—her chief of staff warned that President Trump might go to the Capitol following his noon speech at the Ellipse. “I hope he comes, I’m gonna punch him out,” she told Terry McCullough.
Turning toward her daughter’s camera, Pelosi continued her tirade. “I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on Capitol grounds. I’m gonna punch him out, I’m gonna go to jail, and I’m gonna be happy.”
Less than two hours later, members of Congress, including Pelosi, were evacuated when the building was breached shortly after 2 p.m. Alexandra Pelosi later told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour the events of January 6 “offended her [mother] in her soul.”

Pelosi is seen cooly walking through the evacuation route on her way to a secure location at Fort McNair in Washington—with Alexandra just a few steps ahead, walking backwards, to capture the moment. Far from being under mortal threat by selfie-taking Americans in the Rotunda above, Pelosi is surrounded by her security detail as she is led to a chauffeured vehicle. Her daughter also traveled with her mother to the Army base located two miles from the Capitol.
The surveillance video shows a different angle than the recordings released to CNN by Alexandra Pelosi in October. In that footage, Pelosi appears to engage in a bit of play-acting as the camera rolls. “If they stop the proceedings, they will have succeeded in stopping the validation of the president of the United States,” she told McCullough through a face mask as they walked through unidentified hallways in the Capitol. “If they stop the proceedings, we will have totally failed.”

US Education Department Issues Pride Month Promise to Public Schools

LGBT Pride Month has come to public schools nationwide with a Twitter announcement by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). “Everyone in the school community should feel valued for who they are and free to be their authentic self. Our message to LGBTQI+ students, teachers, and staff as we begin #PrideMonth: ED has got your back,” the ED’s June 1 post on Twitter reads.
The “I” in the ever-expanding acronym stands for “intersex.” Intersex people are born with rare genetic mutations that give them male and female sex organs.
The ED post on Twitter displays the LGBT pride flag, the transgender pride flag, and the words “Happy Pride Month.” The ED also changed its Twitter icon to include the “Progress Pride” flag, which uses light blue, pink, and white stripes to represent transgender and non-binary people, and the brown and black stripes to represent “marginalized people of color.”
The federal agency posted the message on the first day of June because it’s nationally recognized as LGBT Pride Month.
On Twitter, the message received strong pushback in its comments. Thousands of replies condemned the ED for supporting a movement that encourages children to consider sex change.
“Teach math and science and stop trying to groom kids. This explains why 1 in 10 children in public schools will be sexually assaulted by a public school employee before they graduate,” one commenter wrote in reply to the ED post, receiving more than 200 affirmations from other Twitter users. Weird black holes may hold secrets of the early universe

Growing evidence suggests that rogue black holes and other eccentric behemoths exist.

Like the mythical Kammapa of the Sotho people of southern Africa, the Milky Way’s central, supermassive black hole has swallowed nearly everything around it, growing heftier and heftier the more it eats. And it’s not alone. Black holes weighing as much as thousands, millions or even billions of suns sit at the center of nearly all known massive galaxies.
For decades, scientists thought that was the only place they’d find such behemoths, because only massive galaxies had enough material to feed the monsters’ excessive appetites. But beginning about two decades ago, computer simulations of the earliest black holes started turning up oddities — big black holes that weren’t smack-dab where they were expected. These misfits must be nothing more than flukes, many scientists reasoned at the time, dismissing the results without a second thought.
But others weren’t so certain the oddballs should be cast off. If observations show that these unusual black holes exist in the nearby universe, these astrophysicists speculated, they could be untapped clues to the universe’s infancy and adolescence.

‘Boycott Target’ rap song hits number one on iTunes:
‘Let’s protest until they close’

A new rap song blasting Target’s promotion of radical LGBT ideology to children has gone viral online and topped the iTunes charts. “Boycott Target” by conservative Christian rappers Forgiato Blow and Jimmy Levy featuring Nick Nittoli and Stoney Dudebro surged to the top spot on the iTunes sales chart on Tuesday, beating out Taylor Swift. The song, released on May 25, is also number one on iTunes’ hip-hop and rap chart. “Attention all shoppers, there’s a clean up on every aisle. Target is targeting your kids,” the song opens. “They put a target on my back, but they’re targeting your kids,” the lyrics continue. “This agenda’s gotta stop, and you know we gonna win. Let’s protest until they close, and they ain’t gonna be missed.” At one point, the song takes aim at the surgical and chemical castration of children confused about their sex: “You know that LGBTQ went too far/You know they cutting these kids, they leaving trannies with scars.”
The music video, which was filmed in a Target store and features the rappers pointing out “pride” products, has racked up more than 4.5 million views on Blow’s Twitter account. A tweet by Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia sharing the video has also surpassed 1.5 million views. “Thank you so much for supporting us,” Blow said in a Twitter video on Monday. “That’s how we change culture, that’s how we change the evilness that’s happening with our children.” The song highlights a growing boycott of Target due to the company’s new “Pride Collection” featuring LGBT-themed clothing for children, including babies, “tuck-friendly” swimsuits designed to hide male genitalia, and products created by a “transgender” satanist designer, “Erik” Carnell, who has encouraged violence against people critical of LGBT ideology.
