Blinken says US 'does not support Taiwan independence' during China visit

Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated U.S. support of the "One China" policy on Monday, saying that the U.S. does not support Taiwanese independence following a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"We do not support Taiwan independence," Blinken said in a press conference on Monday. "We remain opposed to any unilateral changes to the status quo by either side. We continue to expect the peaceful resolution of cross strait differences. We remain committed to continuing our responsibilities under the Taiwan Relations Act including making sure Taiwan has the ability to defend itself."

"At the same time, we and many others have deep concerns about some of the provocative actions that China has taken in recent years going back to 2016," Blinken added. "And the reason that this is a concern for so many countries, not just the United States, is that were there to be a crisis over Taiwan, the likelihood is that could produce an economic crisis that could affect quite literally the entire world." - Father, we pray for a revival of souls to sweep over the island of Taiwan.  May the prayers of the saints over the last many decades avail much in the Kingdom of Heaven and may the land be on fire for Your holiness and purity.  May there be such an angelic presence over the land of Taiwan that the Chinese imperialists can do nothing against the nation, but stand aside and watch, in Jesus Holy and Mighty Name!  Amen!

- "Thus says the Lord:  'In an acceptable time I have heard You, And in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You As a covenant to the people, To restore the earth, To cause them to inherit the desolate heritages;'"  (Isaiah 49:8)

DA Alvin Bragg Sued After Refusing to Release Trump Case Records

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was sued by a conservative organization in a bid to turn over prosecution records relating to the cases against former President Donald Trump, who was arrested on multiple counts earlier this year.

The Heritage Foundation think tank filed two Freedom of Information Law lawsuits against the Manhattan prosecutor, alleging that he and his office coordinated with Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-N.Y.), the White House, and the Department of Justice (DOJ) about the prosecution targeting Trump.

“Regrettably, these questions have not been met with answers. These reports have raised concerns in many circles based in large part upon the longstanding history of President Trump’s political opponents coordinating their activities to systematically weaponize the criminal justice system against him and thereby pervert the course of Justice,” the first lawsuit (pdf) against Bragg stated.

A second lawsuit (pdf) filed by the conservative Washington-based think tank also claimed that Bragg retained pro-bono assistance from top law firms in connection to the Trump case. They are asking a court to release requested documents to the public under the New York Freedom of Information Law and declare that Bragg hand over the documents.

Mike Howell, director of Heritage’s Oversight Project, told Fox News that his organization suspects that Bragg was “coordinating, or otherwise communicating” with opponents of Trump, adding that there is reason to believe Bragg is a “prolific communicator” via his phone.

“The fact we have to file a lawsuit against Bragg who says he can’t produce these records and says he doesn’t have the systems to do so, is proof-positive of another dual standard of justice at play in this country,” Howell said. “You have a weaponized actor who’s going after the former president on a loony theory about his document retention, whereas the DA can’t even keep his own documents and it’s in violation of the information laws he is bound by,” he continued. - Holy and Righteous Judge, we stand with The Heritage Foundation and bless them as they exercise their rights as citizens of this nation.  It is good to push back against those overstepping in their positions of power.  As we have prayed, repented and sought Your face for direction about pushing through these dark days, Jesus we believe that opposing tyranny and demanding justice is an effective tool in this time.  We pray for Your continued guidance and release Your authority upon this nation, in Jesus name.

Hunter Biden investigation: Read DOJ announcement; president's son to plead guilty to felony charges
The Department of Justice said in a court filing that Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, intends to plead guilty to two charges related to failure to pay federal income tax. The letter was filed by U.S. Attorney David Weiss in the U.S District Court for the District of Delaware on Tuesday and also said he would be charged with a gun possession charge.

The pretrial diversion agreement for the one count of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of an addicted or controlled substance will likely allow him to avoid prosecution. The son of the president has been under investigation by the Department of Justice for several years. (Washington Examiner) Read more.

- Holy One, we thank You for this tiny, little bit of prosecution, for which Hunter Biden has been compelled to plead guilty.  We declare that the whole truth and nothing but the truth will come rolling out in full measure revealing the deep levels of corruption that so many people have been prospering from for so many years.  We pray also for full revelation of the many areas where the U.S.A. has been weakened or compromised because of this corruption, in Jesus name.

- "'Therefore do not fear them.  For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.  Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.'"  (Matthew 10:26-27)

1. Permanent UN probe demonstrates anti-Israel bias, 27 nations say - Jerusalem Post

The United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Israel plans to probe Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and its link to West Bank annexation, investigator Miloon Kothari told reporters in Geneva on Tuesday.

“We are very disturbed that violent settler activity has increased in the last months,” said Kothari. “It’s becoming a means through which annexation is ensured beyond occupation.”

He spoke after the three-member COI chaired by Navi Pillay presented its third report to the 53rd UN Human Rights Council session which is meeting this month. (Read more)

2. PM warns terrorists 'all options are open' after deadly shooting attack - Israel Hayom

Hours after two Hamas terrorists massacred Israelis at a gas station in the Binyamin region north of Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Palestinian terror groups over the ongoing spate of attacks.

"I want to tell all those who seek to harm us – all options are open," he said in a video statement. "We will continue to fight terror with all our might and we will win."

Israeli military spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the two Hamas-affiliated perpetrators had driven to the shooting scene from the Palestinian village of Urif in the northern West Bank. The men went on a rampage at a gas station next to the Israeli settlement of Eli, the Israeli military said, north of the Palestinian city of Ramallah. They first burst into a hummus restaurant, shooting and killing three people, the army said, before heading out to the gas station and killing another person who was pumping gas into his car. Four Israelis were killed and four others were wounded in a shooting attack on Tuesday near the town of Eli in the Binyamin region of Samaria.

4. MKs Odeh and Tibi: IDF committed war crimes in Jenin reminiscent of Defensive Shield - Israel National News

The Hadash and Ta’al parties, led by MK Ayman Odeh and MK Ahmed Tibi, on Monday issued a joint statement condemning the IDF operation in Jenin, in which five Palestinian Arabs were killed, among them Islamic Jihad terrorists, and eight soldiers were wounded.

The statement warns of the "dangerous escalation led by the fascist Netanyahu-Ben-Gvir-Smotrich government" against the Palestinian Arab people through the continuation of the "policy of (military) invasions and killings started by the previous government", culminating "in the invasion of the city of Jenin and the (refugee) camp and the carrying out of war crimes".

The statement added that this is in fact a "warlike invasion and real terrorism against civilians" which "is reminiscent of the criminal invasion and massacre that the government tried to carry out and hide in 2002." This is a reference to Operation Defensive Shield, a large 2002 IDF counterterrorism operation in Judea and Samaria which was carried out amidst the Second Intifada and lasted for just over a month. 5. Controversial land sale puts Jerusalem Armenians on edge - BBC

Quietly, apart from the tapping of the sticks, they file into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for prayers.

Nowadays, Jerusalem is at the core of the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. But Armenians have been here since the 4th Century, when their country was the first to adopt Christianity as a national religion.

They have a share in the Old City's holiest Christian sites and their own quarter tucked away in its south-western corner, home to some 2,000 Armenians.

But now the community here feels under threat because of a murky real estate deal by its own Church leaders. Amid angry protests, the Armenian patriarch has hidden himself away and a disgraced priest, who denies any wrongdoing, has fled to California. (Read more)

1. Donald Trump’s Documents Trial Could Be Delayed Until After 2024 Election:  ‘I Don’t See How It Gets to Trial Before’ November - Breitbart

Legal experts say a trial in the case of former President Donald Trump’s handling of allegedly classified documents may not happen until after the 2024 presidential election — which could work in the former president’s favor.

“I don’t see how it gets to trial before the November election,” legal expert and former Assistant Attorney General Andrew McCarthy said on a National Review podcast on Friday.

According to McCarthy and an article in the Washington Post published Monday, the use of classified information during a trial is governed by a law called the Classified Information Procedures Act (CIPA).

He said in a classified information case, lawyers litigate before the trial what classified information is admissible in a case. Both the prosecution and the defense must share with the government what classified information they intend to use. (Read more)

- Thank You Jesus, for this potential disruption in the streamlined plan of destruction against President Trump.  We pray that we will see honor and integrity restored to the government of this nation before we see this case come to trial, in Jesus name.  We cry out for fair and equal justice to be exercised upon each person who is holding classified documents in their personal possession, in Jesus name.

- "Then the Lord said, 'Hear what the unjust judge said, And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?'"  (Luke 18:6-7)

2. Biden supports son Hunter after he reaches plea deal over federal charges - Washington Examiner

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden are standing by their son Hunter after a court filing revealed he has reached a plea deal for federal tax and gun charges.
“The president and first lady love their son and support him as he continues to rebuild his life," White House Counsel's Office spokesman Ian Sams told reporters Tuesday. "We will have no further comment.”

Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, wrote to the U.S. District Court Tuesday to advise it that Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of failing to pay $100,000 in federal income tax in 2017 and 2018.

Hunter has also agreed to enter into a pretrial diversion program for one felony charge of possessing a firearm, a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver, in 2018, despite being public about his substance abuse issues. The Justice Department will reportedly seek probation for the tax offenses while Hunter undertakes drug and alcohol treatment, but his sentence will be determined by a judge. (Read more)

- Father, we put Hunter Biden in Your hands O King and ask that You deal with him, drawing him to Your heart and lovingkindness.  We pray for salvation for him and his entire family and that they would repent and turn from their wicked ways and get new hearts and walk in the purity and holiness as sons and daughters of Almighty God, Creator of the ends of the earth, in Jesus name.

- "Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"  (Romans 2:4)

3. Congress prepares to unseal testimony, evidence from IRS whistleblower in Hunter Biden case - Just The News

The House Ways and Means Committee took final steps Tuesday to release to the public as early as this week the testimony and evidence from an IRS whistleblower who alleges the Justice Department gave favorable treatment to Hunter Biden and engaged in political interference in the criminal tax case against the first son.

Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., scheduled an executive session for 8 a.m. Thursday where lawmakers are expected to vote to free the whistleblower evidence and testimony of IRS supervisory criminal agent Gary Shapley from the 6103 privacy requirements that normally shield Americans' tax information from public disclosure.

The development came just hours after U.S. Attorney David Weiss in Delaware announced in a court filing that Hunter Biden has struck a deal to plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges of willfully failing to pay taxes and to enter a probation program that could eliminate a third charge, a felony, accusing him of lying on a gun application. (Read more)

- Just Judge, we cry out for righteousness and for those members of Congress who are seeking to establish truth which will stand up in an honest court of law.  We pray that You will square the unequal and unblinded scales of justice and we call for the fear of the Lord to come upon those who persist in protecting and hiding wrong-doing in Jesus name.

- "With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness."  (Isaiah 26:9)

4. Appeals court revives lawsuit against Biden for ending border wall construction - Washington Examiner

A federal lawsuit that two Republican-run states had unsuccessfully filed against the Biden administration to restart border wall construction has been revived by an appeals court and made a top order of business.

The New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on June 16 that a lawsuit Missouri and Texas brought in 2021 had standing to proceed after it was originally denied by a lower court.

The Texas General Land Office, led by then-Commissioner George P. Bush, sued the federal government in July 2021 for halting all wall construction in a portion of the state's border with Mexico where the office had leased a 3,000-acre portion of land to Starr County. Bush argued that the property had been turned into a "superhighway" as a result of the wall not going up. (Read more)

- Father, we call forth righteous justice in this case and declare no more delays in the actions and responsibilities that must be exercised by the state of Texas as both a sovereign state and the USA, a sovereign nation.  We pray for a complete halt to the human traffic incursion taking place at the southern border in Jesus name.  We bless all parties, that they may hear and act according to the direction of Almighty God.

- "Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.  Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence."  (Psalm 27:11-12)

5. The US government is buying your data to spy on you - VOX

Do you think the government needs a warrant to collect intimate data about you? Or that you’d have to at least be suspected of doing something wrong first? Not exactly.

A newly released report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) details how the intelligence community buys significant amounts of data about you from data brokers who track almost everything people do on their phones and computers. This is data the government wouldn’t otherwise be able to obtain on a mass scale or without a court order. But because it’s available to purchase, there’s a legal gray area that the government happily takes advantage of. It’s using your money to do it, too.

The report is also an illustration of how a lack of laws prohibiting the government from buying this data or preventing companies from acquiring and selling it in the first place has created an extensive surveillance state. (Read more)

- Lord Jesus, king of kings, we ask You to bring forth a righteous government in this nation, in Jesus name.  We renounce the corrupt, spying, snooping, defiling and Constitution-denying actions being exercised against We, the People, in Jesus name.  We pray for an overhaul of righteousness upon technology, government, media and our nation's morality and call back a biblical perspective and outlook for our culture, in Jesus name.  Amen

- "For behold, He who forms mountains, And creates the wind, Who declares to man what his thought is, And makes the morning darkness, Who treads the high places of the earth– The Lord God of hosts is His name."  (Amos 4:13)

6. Barack Obama Pushes ‘Digital Fingerprints’ to Fight ‘Misinformation’ - Brietbart

Barack Obama, who was instrumental in fueling the media’s “misinformation” narrative before he left office, has a new buzzword — “digital fingerprints.” The former Democrat president wants the origin of digital information such as photos and videos to be clearly traced, to fight the spread of deepfakes.

“That technology’s here now,” said Obama in a discussion with his former advisor David Axelrod on the latter’s CNN podcast. “So, most immediately we’re going to have all the problems we had with misinformation before, [but] this next election cycle will be worse.”

“”And the need for us, for the general public, I think to be more discriminating consumers of news and information, the need for us to over time develop technologies to create watermarks or digital fingerprints so we know what is true and what is not true.” (Read more)

- Holy King, we strike down this wicked plot of snooping, spying, manipulating and controlling the free flow of information in this nation.  We declare we will not be silenced by one party member who feels his agenda is more important than the more than 240 million citizens governed by our Constitution, in Jesus name.  We bind the schemes for censorship and release the truth shouted from the housetops that the elections have been unrighteous and unjudged since at least 2020.

- "'Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him.  With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.'  And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah."  (2 Chronicles 32:7-8)

7. Parents Running Against Race-Based Admissions Policies Sweep Local School Board Races - The Daily Caller

Candidates backed by an organization focused on promoting merit-based admissions notched several victories in New York City’s recent school board elections, according to the New York Post.

Of 147 candidates endorsed by Parent Leaders for Accelerated Curriculum and Education (PLACE NYC), a group focused on improving academic rigor within K-12 schools, 115 won a seat on their local school district board for the 2023-2025 term, according to the New York Post. The endorsed candidates now make up 40% of elected officials on Citywide & Community Education Councils, which is New York City’s version of school boards.

The victories come after New York City reversed admission policies implemented by former Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio to now give the top 15% of students with a grade point average (GPA) of 90 or above the first pick at selective high schools and middle schools. The previous admissions policy used a random lottery that allowed underperforming students to receive admission to the screened schools. (Read more)

- HalleluJah Abba!  We rejoice to see citizens standing up for their children and getting onto the school boards.  Thank You that so many were elected and we plead the blood of Jesus over every school in New York and in the nation.  We pray for righteousness and wisdom in the governing of the schools and quality of educational and library materials, in Jesus name.  We pray for school boards across the nation to be driven into the hands of honorable parents who will protect their children and improve the level of education of our schools.

- "Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger."  (Psalm 8:2)

8. Extreme Heatwave’ Encircles North Atlantic. Here’s What That Means For America - The Daily Caller

An extreme marine heatwave hit the North Atlantic in mid-June, raising temperatures upwards of 4 to 5°C above normal in certain areas. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Thursday that the impacts of a strong El Niño weather event are finally here, raising sea surface temperatures way above average throughout the North Atlantic and parts of the Pacific.

Presently, the most severe impacts are striking off the coast of Ireland and Great Britain, but these conditions will have a direct impact here in the U.S.
“At a global level, no ocean basin is seeing such widespread and intense marine heatwaves as the North Atlantic,” amateur meteorologist Colin McCarthy wrote of the situation on his Twitter.

This could lead to massive and intense hurricanes and other extreme weather events right here at home. (Read more)

- Holy King, we pray for accurate figures to be expressed in regards to our climate on this earth, in Jesus name.  We command the hyperbole and fear-mongering to cease and desist in the name of Jesus.  We thank You Father that there is nothing new under the sun and what has been will be and we do not need to run in terror because the earth is Yours and the fullness thereof.  We also bind every type of weather manipulation, in Jesus name and call for peace in our climate and peace in our rhetoric, in Jesus name.

- "Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all."  (1 Chronicles 29:11)

The Daily Jot

USA As A Pronoun

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, June 20, 2023

Students at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington, Ma., tore down Pride celebration signs and chanted “U-S-A are my pronouns, wearing red, white and blue clothes and face paint instead of the “Spirit Day” rainbow colors. Now the kids are being labeled homophobic and intolerant. School Principal Cari Perchase condemned the anti-Pride Day demonstration, writing in a letter to parents, “I fully respect that our diverse community has diverse opinions and beliefs. I also respect individuals’ right to express their opinions through clothing choices and freedom of speech. When one individual or group of individuals’ beliefs and actions result in the demeaning of another individual or group, it is completely unacceptable.”

Perchase is saying free speech is OK so long as you don’t disagree with homosexuality. Yet, Perchase allowed the middle school’s “student-led LGBTQ+ and allies “Spectrum Club” to set up a “spirt day” where rainbow banners, and posters saying “Happy Pride Month” and “Why it’s not ok to say “That’s so gay’.” They also were handing out rainbow stickers. Students and faculty were asked to wear rainbow colors for the day. Why on earth would a middle school allow such a demonstration of advocacy for a sexual orientation? Talk about inappropriate. Talk about intolerant of those who used the “Spirt Day” to celebrate their pride in America. Talk about grooming minor children for sexual purposes. This is what is “completely unacceptable” to use the principal’s words.” Read More

1st night of summer to feature convergence
of astronomical trio
The June solstice marks the official start to summer, but wildfire smoke could hinder views of an upcoming astronomy event, and potentially more astronomical happenings through the summer.

This week will bring the shortest nights of the entire year across the United States, but there will still be plenty to look for in the night sky including a planetary duo glowing next to the moon.

Astronomical summer will officially kick off on Wednesday with the solstice, which will occur at 10:57 a.m. EDT, the latest start to summer since 2019. This comes three weeks after the start of meteorological summer, which began on Thursday, June 1.

On the June solstice, the sun's most direct rays will be focused on the Tropic of Cancer resulting in the longest day of the year for areas north of the equator. In areas north of the Arctic Circle, the sun never sets on the solstice with constant daylight around the clock. Read More

Christian teacher fired for opposing LGBT lessons at son's school wins appeal
A Christian teaching assistant in England won her appeal against a prior judgment that upheld her 2019 dismissal for sharing Facebook posts that critiqued transgenderism and compulsory sex education in her son's Church of England primary school. In the Friday ruling, President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal in London Jennifer Eady ruled in favor of Kristie Higgs, stating that the "freedom to manifest belief (religious or otherwise) and to express views relating to that belief are essential rights in any democracy, whether or not the belief in question is popular or mainstream and even if its expression may offend."

Higgs was dismissed in 2019 from the Farmor's School in Fairford, Gloucestershire, after she took to social media to voice objection to her child's Church of England school planning to introduce books that promoted transgender identity. She also encouraged her family and friends to sign a petition challenging plans to incorporate sex education into primary schools. A similar petition was signed by over 115,000 people and debated in Parliament. In response, Higgs launched legal action for discrimination and harassment based on her Christian beliefs. The ruling comes at a time when the government has announced that it will undertake an urgent review of "inappropriate" sex education in U.K. schools. (Christian Post) Read More Here.
- Father, thank you for this ruling protecting children and freedom of religion! We pray for no obstacles. Bring forth many parents to speak-out boldly against the indoctrination of children in England and in America as well! In the mighty name of Jesus, we declare that there will be a united-front between all nations to fight against transgender-ideology, breaking off the spirit of confusion among our youth around the world!-Amen

Scripture: You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3

Lyrics:
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round?
On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found.

Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away?
In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they.

Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?
Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.

Peace, perfect peace, death shadowing us and ours?
Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers.

It is enough: earth’s struggles soon shall cease,
And Jesus call us to Heaven’s perfect peace.

Peace, perfect peace, ’mid suffering’s sharpest throes?
The sympathy of Jesus breathes repose.
