Crews level rest of Georgia Guidestones after damage from explosive device

Authorities are investigating after an explosion destroyed the Georgia Guidestones in Elbert County, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

They said "unknown individuals" detonated an explosive device at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office responded to discover the explosion destroyed a large portion of the structure, they said. According to multiple people nearby, the explosion was heard in the area and even shook their homes. Some shared images showing debris near the stones.

11Alive's Dawn White reported from the scene in Elbert County in the evening that crews had gone in to level the remaining standing parts of the Guidestones. Video from the scene showed construction equipment and the stone blocks in a rubble heap.

The Georgia Guidestones are inscribed with ten guiding principles, each etched in stone using languages from around the world. The meaning behind the mysterious 19-foot monoliths has been unclear since the structure was built in 1979.

No one knows exactly what the granite slabs are doing in the middle of a cow pasture - or who who put them there more than 40 years ago.

The roadside attraction received renewed attention during Georgia's May 24 gubernatorial primary when third-place Republican candidate Kandiss Taylor claimed the guidestones are satanic and made demolishing them part of her platform. (11 Alive) Read more and see more here.

21 "Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore."  (Revelation 18:21,22)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. IDF chief of staff candidate calls for targeted killings of Iranian officials - Jerusalem Post

Maj.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, in the running for IDF chief of staff, has called for the assassination of leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in a new policy paper for The Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

Zamir is a candidate to replace IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kohavi, along with Deputy Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Herzi Halevi and former Ground Forces Commander Maj.-Gen. Yoel Strick. He has spent the last year at the institute as a visiting military fellow.

“The IRGC is responsible for most covert activity, subversion of other governments, terrorist acts, and political assassinations in the Middle East and around the world, as well as maintaining contact with its regional and global partners,” Zamir wrote. (Read more)

2. Meretz minister quits politics, calls on party leader to step down - Israel National News

Regional Cooperation Minister Esawi Frej (Meretz) announced his decision to take a break from politics, and called on Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz to step down as Meretz chairman.

Instead, Frej called on former Meretz MK Zehava Galon to return to politics and lead his party.

"Zehava Galon is the only one today who is capable of uniting the ranks within Meretz," Frej told Kan Bet. "Yair Golan is a diligent and good man, but he doesn't have the DNA of the party. He made statements which are not appropriate for our party line." (Read more)

3. Smotrich will lead renewed merger with Ben-Gvir, MK says - Jerusalem Post

The far-right party officially split into two on Sunday after Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit faction broke away from Bezalel Smotrich’s Ichud Leumi.

MK Itamar Ben-Gvir will back MK Bezalel Smotrich as leader of the Religious Zionist Party if they decide to merge for the upcoming election, their party colleague MK Michal Waldiger told The Jerusalem Post Tuesday.

The far-right party officially split into two on Sunday after Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit faction broke away from Smotrich’s National Union faction.

Ben-Gvir’s move was described as purely technical to give him a seat on the Elections Committee. The committee is responsible for overseeing the election preparations and processes and deciding any disputes. Each party has a representative on the committee, and the Religious Zionist Party now effectively has two. (Read more)

4. Israeli Soldiers Targeted in Drive-By Shooting in West Bank - Algemeiner

i24 News – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Tuesday that suspects fired at soldiers from a passing vehicle at the entrance to the Homesh community in the northern West Bank.

Israeli security forces are currently searching for the vehicle and suspects, according to the IDF statement.

“The soldiers responded with live fire. No IDF injuries were reported. The soldiers located bullet casings during searches of the area,” the statement said.

Earlier on Tuesday, IDF announced that Israeli forces arrested six individuals suspected of terrorist activities during an overnight operation in the West Bank. Illegal weapons were confiscated during the raid in several Palestinian towns. (Read more)

5. Israel discontinues mediating Russia-Ukraine conflict - World Israel News

Israel’s efforts to mediate between Kyiv and Moscow have ceased, said a member of Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s entourage in Paris, Israel Hayom reported on Thursday.

The official, who was travelling with Lapid stressed while Israel will no longer attempt to broker a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire, the Prime Minister could potentially meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Israel is no longer taking part in the mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine,” the official was quoted by Israel Hayom as saying.

The official alluded to increased tensions between Israel and Russia, after the Kremlin again castigated Israeli actions in Syria. (Read more)

1. Former White House lawyer Pat Cipollone agrees to transcribed interview with Jan. 6 committee - ABC News

Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone has reached a deal with the Jan. 6 committee to testify in a transcribed interview Friday, according to sources familiar with the matter. The deal comes after the committee issued a subpoena to Cipollone last week after talks to have him testify publicly were not successful.

Cipollone was one of the few aides with former President Donald Trump the day of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and has significant insight into events before, leading up to and after that day.

The committee has frequently referenced Cipollone during public hearings, saying he was one of the advisers around Trump constantly telling the former president he was concerned that his actions could put him in legal jeopardy. (Read more)

- Lord God, we cancel all plots, schemes, and plans of the enemy to harm Donald Trump or anyone else by this illegal committee in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare this committee is coming to nothing Jesus name amen.

2. Eighty-Nine House Representatives Introduce ‘Transgender Bill of Rights’ - Daily Citizen

Democrats in the House of Representatives have unveiled a new “Transgender Bill of Rights” that poses a great threat to religious liberty, women’s sports and the integrity of the medical profession.

Representative Pramila Jayapal, along with four other members, introduced the bill in the House of Representatives earlier this week. The bill has an additional 84 co-sponsors. Rep. Jayapal, who is the Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Co-Chair of the Transgender Equality Task Force, has a son who believes that he is a girl.

“With this resolution, we salute the resilience and courage of trans people across our country, and outline a clear vision of what we must do in Congress in order to allow trans people to lead full, happy lives,” Rep. Jayapal said in a statement. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for the church to boldly proclaim the truth of God’s intentional design for marriage and sexuality in a culture that loudly claims otherwise. We pray that the modern transgender movement that is systematically working to dismantle the reality of two sexes would not have success. We pray for those who struggle with their gender identity, knowing that many have lived lives of pain, confusion and rejection. And, just as Jesus went out of his way to reach the outcasts of society, we pray for opportunities to humbly share His love embodied in the Gospel, to lift them up in prayer and to allow the Holy Spirit to bring about conviction, healing and transformation.

- “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” (John 16:13)

3. Oil from U.S. reserves sent overseas as gasoline prices stay high - Reuters

More than 5 million barrels of oil that were part of a historic U.S. emergency reserves release to lower domestic fuel prices were exported to Europe and Asia last month, according to data and sources, even as U.S. gasoline and diesel prices hit record highs.

The export of crude and fuel is blunting the impact of the moves by U.S. President Joe Biden to lower record pump prices. Biden on Saturday renewed a call for gasoline suppliers to cut their prices, drawing criticism from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Donald Trump Jr. saw the report. He tweeted, “Un-freaked-believable. We sent 5,000,000 barrels of oil to Europe from our strategic oil reserves with prices through the roof for Americans. At this point it’s hard to assume Democrats are doing anything other than purposefully destroying our country!” (Read more)

- Lord God, we are at a loss for words on how our elected officials who swore to protect and defend the American people are doing the exact opposite. This move is such a blatant slap in the face to all those struggling right now. We declare justice be served in this situation Lord God. We declare recompense will be done in this land for all that was stolen from us in the mighty name of Jesus amen.

- “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.” (Joel 2:25)

4. Heads of MI5 and FBI warn of threat posed by China in first ever joint speech - The Daily Mail

The heads of Britain and America's intelligence agencies have promised more investigations into China as they jointly warned the world faces a 'game changing challenge' from the ruling communist party.

Director general Ken McCallum said MI5 is running seven times as many investigations into China as it was four years ago, and plans to 'grow as much again' to tackle the nation's widespread attempts at interference.

In an unprecedented joint address with the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, at MI5's Thames House headquarters in London on Wednesday, business leaders and academic chiefs also heard warnings that a Chinese takeover of Taiwan could 'represent one of the most horrific business disruptions the world has ever seen'.

In their historic speech, the security chiefs warned of China's ruling community party, headed up by President Xi Jinping, attempting to 'covertly apply pressure across the globe'. They warned the Chinese government was a looming threat to global economics, technology, businesses and particularly to Taiwan - the tiny East Asian island that has long fought off calls to reintegrate with mainland China. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank you that we had a president and an administration that understood the grave danger of letting China run rogue without being checked and challenged. We repent that our current administration is failing to do what they can to protect America and its citizens from China’s tyranny. So we humble ourselves before you now and we realize that you were God and we are not. And we ask for your guidance and your direction on how to navigate this situation.

- “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalm 32:8)

5. Tens of millions are put into lockdown in China as its Communist Party leaders continue zero-Covid approach - The Daily Mail

Tens of millions of people were under lockdown in China on Wednesday as businesses in a major tourist city were forced to shut their doors and fresh clusters sparked fears of a return to blanket restrictions. Health authorities reported over 300 infections today, with clusters found in the historic northern city of Xi'an - home to the Terracotta Army - as well as the country's biggest city Shanghai and the capital Beijing.

In Shanghai and Beijing, authorities have ordered a new round of mass testing, whilst in Xi-an, residents have been placed back under 'temporary control measures'.
The fresh cases and the official response to them have deepened fears that China may be set to return to the kinds of strict lockdowns seen earlier this year, where tens of millions of people were locked down for weeks on end.

The Communist Party's hardline zero-Covid policy has not only meant that thousands are now suffering mental health issues but it has also prolonged global supply chain issues. (Read more)

- Lord God, we lift up the Chinese people to you, especially the Christians there, Lord, that you would give them all wisdom and supernatural strength during this difficult time. Our hearts break for how these people are treated because it is wrong and it is cruel. We thank you God and believe for a Supernatural wave of signs, wonders, and miracles in that region offering solutions to those that are in bondage in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

6. Monkeypox cases in New York City double in past week - The Hill

The number of confirmed monkeypox cases in New York City has doubled in the past week, according to data from the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The department said in a tweet on Tuesday that 111 people had tested positive in New York City so far, up from 55 a week prior. The tweet states that the city is expecting to receive additional doses of the monkeypox vaccine in the coming days and will make appointments available soon.

The department announced last month that men who have sex with men and have had sex with multiple partners or anonymous partners in the past two weeks would be eligible to receive the vaccine. The vaccine, the Jynneos smallpox vaccine, is administered in two doses four weeks apart from each other.

The city’s health department website states that most people infected with monkeypox in New York City have had mild illness, have not been hospitalized and have recovered on their own. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that monkeypox cases have been confirmed in 33 states plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. 7. Number of Americans who believe in God dips to new low: Gallup - The Christian Post

While 81% of American adults say they believe in God, the percentage has dropped 6 points since 2017 and is the lowest since the Gallup polling firm started asking the question more than seven decades ago.

Gallup says when it first asked the question in 1947 and twice in the 1950s and 1960s, a consistent 98% said they believed in God. In 2011, the percentage declined to 92%. In 2013, 2014 and 2017, it dipped to 87%.

“Belief in God has fallen the most in recent years among young adults and people on the left of the political spectrum (liberals and Democrats). These groups show drops of 10 or more percentage points comparing the 2022 figures to an average of the 2013-2017 polls,” the poll results say.
The poll notes that only 72% of Democrats, 62% of liberals and 68% of young people believe in God. (Read more)

- Your eternal power and divine nature being revealed in creation, many do not believe You exist, and others believe in a false god. It saddens us, Lord, and we know You desire for all of them to turn to You in repentance and belief in Jesus so that they will know You. In our own families, help us to disciple our children. In our communities, help us to be faithful ambassadors for You, preaching the gospel as Your Holy Spirit works to convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment.

- "And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment." (John 16:8)

8. Arizona pushes most expansive education savings account program in the US - Fox News

Arizona state lawmakers on Wednesday pushed the most expansive education savings account program in the United States. The Arizona State House passed Bill 2853 for the expansion of education savings accounts to have universal eligibility. Arizona, the first state in the nation to pass education scholarship accounts, expands the program to all 1.1 million K-12 students in Arizona.

The program provides parents with scholarships to cover educational expenses such as private school tuition, online education, education therapies, tutoring, etc.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey promised to implement school choice on a wide scale in a State of the State address in January. "This session, let's expand school choice any way we can … Send me the bills, and I'll sign them!" Ducey said. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for You to help parents understand the value and importance of their children’s education. May parents and other family members surround children with the support and encouragement to become all You desire them to be. We pray lord that our children will love you, and listen to your voice to follow the perfect plan you have for their life. In Jesus name amen.

Stupidocrisy: To Hell In A Handbasket

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 7, 2022

There used to be an old saying in farm country: [Subject] is going to hell in a handbasket. I’ve heard that the origin of the phrase dates back to France and the guillotine where heads were caught in a basket and the people assumed that the victims were going to hell for their crimes. According to TheFreeDictionary.com, the meaning of the phrase is “To deteriorate rapidly…The “handbasket” alliteration caught on and was applied to anyone whose behavior was likely to lead to unhappy consequences.” One such unhappy consequence could be hypothesized from a recent Gallup poll is that the United States is going to hell in a handbasket because it has been steadily turning away from God and US leadership is a reflection.

According to Gallup, “Belief in God has fallen the most in recent years among young adults and people on the left of the political spectrum (liberals and Democrats). These groups show drops of 10 or more percentage points comparing the 2022 figures to an average of the 2013-2017 polls. Most other key subgroups have experienced at least a modest decline, although conservatives and married adults have had essentially no change. The groups with the largest declines are also the groups that are currently least likely to believe in God, including liberals (62%), young adults (68%) and Democrats (72%). Belief in God is highest among political conservatives (94%) and Republicans (92%), reflecting that religiosity is a major determinant of political divisions in the U.S.” Can you see how this division may lead to religious persecution? Highland Park mass shooting suspect confessed, contemplated 2nd attack in Wisconsin
The 21-year-old man accused of opening fire at a suburban Chicago Fourth of July parade, killing seven people and injuring dozens of others, plotted another attack in Madison, Wisconsin, authorities said Wednesday.

After fleeing the scene of the parade, Robert "Bobby" Crimo III "was driving around, saw a celebration in Madison," and "contemplated another attack," with "60 rounds on his body at that point," authorities said at a news conference Wednesday.

But he "had not done enough planning" and decided not to do it, authorities said.
After returning from Wisconsin, Crimo was apprehended at at traffic stop in Lake Forrest, Illinois, Monday evening. (ABC News) Read more.
- Father God, we want to honor those prayer warriors who have served as Your "boots on the ground" in Madison. Their work has clearly been instrumental in saving many lives this week!

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."  (Rev. 12:11)

- Lord God, we thank you that justice is being served in this matter and that another attempt at harming others was stopped in its tracks. You thank you for all the attacks that you protect us from every single day that we have no idea about because they never happen. We praise and thank you are watching over us.

- “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”  (Isaiah 46:4)
Outpouring: $2 Million Raised for 2-Year-Old Orphan after Parents Killed in Highland Park Shooting

A fundraiser for a 2-year-old orphan whose parents were killed during the Highland Park, Ill., mass shooting topped $2 million Wednesday, less than 24 hours after a concerned citizen set up the charity.

The GoFundMe fundraiser for 2-year-old Aiden McCarthy was launched Tuesday by a Northbrook, Ill., resident after Aiden’s two parents – Kevin, 37, and Irina, 35 – were killed while attending the Fourth of July parade. The fundraiser for Aiden topped $2 million Tuesday morning.

The father shielded Aiden with his body, according to local media reports. The McCarthys are immigrants from Russia, and the mother was Jewish, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Aiden’s grandparents are taking care of him. His grandfather, Misha Levberg, picked Aiden up from the police station. “When I picked him up, he said, ‘Are Mommy and Daddy coming soon?’” Levberg told the Chicago Tribune. “He doesn’t understand.” (Read more)

- Dear Holy God, how can we read a report like this one, without weeping? We pray first for this precious child, now orphaned from his parents. Lord God, would You please be a Father to him in the way that only You can do? We also lift up his grandparents. May they come to know Your joy in caring for this little one. And we ask a rich blessing upon all who are donating to this fund. Thank You, Father God, for the truth that, even in this evil time, there are yet many good people in our land. In Your Name, amen and amen.

- "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27)

The Intolerant, Lying Left

by Gary Bauer

American Values
Bette Midler has been a liberal, gay icon her entire career. But now the left’s insanity has proven too much, even for her.  She tweeted this week:

“WOMEN OF THE WORLD! We are being stripped of . . . our lives and even of our name! They don’t call us ‘women’ anymore; they call us ‘birthing people’ or ‘menstruators’ and even ‘people with vaginas’! Don’t let them erase you!”

Midler wasn’t alone. Singer Macy Gray, hardly a right-wing conservative, said in an interview this week, “I will say this, and everyone’s going to hate me, but, as a woman: Just because you go change your parts doesn’t make you a woman. Sorry. I know that for a fact.”

Well, the fact is she’s right. DNA doesn’t change. And, of course, the intolerant left, which now insists we must speak lies by calling some men “women” or “she,” is going nuts.

I am reminded of a quote by the great Russian dissident and philosopher Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: “The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie.”
There Goes the Neighborhood

By Frank Gaffney
Center for Security Policy
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

For years, we have been warning about the inevitable consequences of presidents of both parties since Ronald Reagan neglecting Latin America. Mostly, it was benign neglect. But sometimes it was actually malign.

Either way, it was predictable – and predicted – that the vacuum of power thus created would be filled by those hostile to our country and interests. In the past year alone, Peru, Chile and Colombia have voted in Communist regimes, joining those that have already devastated places like Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. Brazil may be next.

The principal beneficiaries of these tectonic shifts are our enemies: China, Russia and Iran. They are, among other ominous things, now preparing to participate next month in military exercises in Venezuela and pre-positioning weapons, some of which will almost certainly prove threatening to us.

We can no longer ignore the gathering storm in our hemisphere.

Telescope test captures
'deepest images of the universe ever taken'
A new test image from the James Webb Space Telescope is serving as an appetizer ahead of the highly-anticipated full-color images set to be released by NASA on July 12.

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is peering into the depths of the universe with its one-of-a-kind instruments, and on Wednesday, NASA unveiled a new image captured by the telescope. The image was captured during testing to see how long the telescope can maintain a steady lock on a distant target such as a galaxy or star.

"This false-color mosaic is made of 72 exposures over a 32-hour test," NASA said.

The six-pointed sources of light in the image are bright stars, while the smudges of light speckled across the image are distant galaxies, each home to countless stars.

Scientists say this is "among the deepest images of the universe ever taken," and is just a preview of what's to come.

“The faintest blobs in this image are exactly the types of faint galaxies that Webb will study in its first year of science operations,” said Jane Rigby, Webb’s operations scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Read More

'Proud and Grateful!' VBS Soundtrack 'Spark Studios' Reaches No. 1 on Apple Music Chart
The soundtrack for Lifeway's 2022 Vacation Bible School (VBS) program reached the No. 1 spot on Apple Music's Top 100 Children's Music Albums chart last month. Sparks Studios was released on Dec. 3, 2021, and features six tracks. The theme song for this year's VBS theme comes from  Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do" (Christian Standard Bible).

Melita Thomas, Lifeway's VBS and kids ministry specialist, said it's encouraging to see the album reaching so many listeners. "We're very proud of the role music plays in Lifeway's VBS as it's an intentional part of our strategy. You'll find the daily Bible verses embedded in the daily songs and the theme song often includes the theme verse in its entirety, which makes it easy for kids to memorize," Thomas said.

"More than just memorization, we want kids to internalize those truths as they listen to and sing the words over and over again. Music is such a powerful teaching tool and it has a way of sticking with you long after VBS is over," she continued. "We want the truths of Scripture to be cemented deep in a child's mind and heart so that they carry it with them for life. Music at VBS is not about learning and performing motions – it's about getting the truth of God's Word into the hearts and minds of children and their families." (CBN) Read More

How Can I Keep From Singing?

To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE

Words and Music: Robert Lowry

Scripture: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Psalm 146:2

Lyrics:
My life flows on in endless song;
Above earth’s lamentation
I hear the sweet though far off hymn
That hails a new creation:
Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear the music ringing;
It finds an echo in my soul—
How can I keep from singing?

What though my joys and comforts die?
The Lord my Savior liveth;
What though the darkness gather round!
Songs in the night He giveth:
No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that refuge clinging;
Since Christ is Lord of Heav’n and earth,
How can I keep from singing?

I lift mine eyes; the cloud grows thin;
I see the blue above it;
And day by day this pathway smoothes
Since first I learned to love it:
The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart,
A fountain ever springing:
All things are mine since I am His—
How can I keep from singing?
