Biden Proposes to Reform Supreme Court With Term Limits, Immunity Limits
‘No one is above the law. Not the president of the United States. Not a justice on the Supreme Court,’ President Biden wrote in an op-ed.

President Joe Biden called for Congress to back his proposals for two significant changes to the U.S. Supreme Court and a change to the U.S. Constitution.

In an op-ed published the morning of July 29, the president outlined his reasoning for pursuing changes that have been long-sought by progressive camps in U.S. politics.

“This nation was founded on a simple yet profound principle: No one is above the law. Not the president of the United States. Not a justice on the Supreme Court of the United States. No one,” the president wrote in a Washington Post op-ed.

According to a White House official, President Biden will call for Congress to back term limits for Supreme Court justices and a code of ethics enforceable by the legislative branch.

He also will propose an amendment to limit the extent of presidential immunity afforded by the Constitution, proposing that former presidents be granted no immunity for crimes committed while in office. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Holy One, we bind the plans of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris from tearing apart the fabric of our nation and the three separate branches of government, in Jesus name.  There has been enough disregard for and disrespect against our Constitution, our civil rights, individual liberties and economic stability.  We declare this reign is finished, in Jesus name.  They will no longer have a voice that is heard nor further access to the heart of our nation, in Jesus name.

- "He answered and said to them, 'Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:  "This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.  And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men– . . . '"        (Mark 7:6-8a)

Israel Vows Retaliation on Hezbollah After Rocket Attack Kills 12 on Soccer Field

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed a response from Israel to a rocket attack that left 12 people, including children, dead at a soccer field in the Golan Heights and said that his government will exact a “heavy price” from Lebanon’s Hezbollah terrorist group.

Mr. Netanyahu’s office on July 27 quoted him as saying that “Israel will not overlook this murderous attack” and “Hezbollah will pay a heavy price.”
Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the rocket attack, which occurred in the Druze town of Majdal Shams, which is about seven miles from the Israel–Lebanon border. Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib told news outlets on July 28 that Hezbollah hasn’t targeted any civilians.

The group said that it “categorically denies allegations” made by the Israeli media about the attack in Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights.

“The Islamic Resistance has absolutely nothing to do with the incident and denies all false allegations in this regard,” it said in the statement.

The Israeli prime minister’s statement vowing a response was made after Mr. Netanyahu spoke with Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif, the leader of the Druze ethno-religious group, and “expressed his deep outrage over the murder of innocent people and children by Hezbollah,” according to his office.

Mr. Netanyahu was returning from a multi-day trip to the United States, where he met with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as well as the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump.

He also wanted to convey his “heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire people of Israel to the families of those who were murdered and to the entire Druze community,” his office wrote. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God, this was a cruel, wicked attack against children, who are the most vulnerable and there is no excuse for it.  We pray for those who perpetrated this evil and forgive them and ask that You bring justice to them, in Jesus name.  We pray for strength upon Israel as they make plans to respond to this assault on their land and for wisdom as they deal with this amplification of warfare threats coming from Iran via Hezbollah, in Jesus name.  Most of all, we pray for the families and this community and ask, Holy Spirit, that You would make Your great lovingkindness and mercy evident and real, so that the people would reach out to You for comfort, in Jesus name.

- "Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth; That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me."         (Psalm 108:5-6)

Trump's legal wins seem to simplify upcoming general election campaign schedule
Legal cases against the 2024 Republican nominee have been paused and delayed

Former President Trump has had a number of legal victories in recent weeks, putting a pause on a majority of cases that could have complicated his campaigning during the general election season.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court ruled in Trump v. United States that a former president has substantial immunity from prosecution for official acts in office but not for unofficial acts. The high court said Trump is immune from criminal prosecution for "official acts" but left it to the lower court to determine exactly where the line between official and unofficial is.

"The President therefore may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to a presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts," the majority opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts states. "That immunity applies equally to all occupants of the Oval Office, regardless of politics, policy, or party."

The question of presidential immunity stemmed from special counsel Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 case against Trump. Trump pleaded not guilty to those charges. That trial was put on hold in a lower court pending the Supreme Court’s ruling, which wiped out any charges related to official presidential acts. (Fox News) Read more here.

- Lord God, we praise You for the many times You have answered our prayers for justice to be rendered in our courts on behalf of Donald John Trump. We praise You, Holy One, that so many fraudulent charges have now been dropped against him. We ask You now to grant Your divine wisdom upon his campaign team, that they will know exactly where to stage is rallies, and when. Thank You, O Lord, amen and amen!

- "It is a joy for the just to do justice,
But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity."
(Proverbs 21:15)

1. IDF: Right-wing riots at army bases delay discussions of reprisal against Hezbollah - Times of Israel

The IDF says the rioting by right-wing mobs at the Sde Teiman base in southern Israel earlier today and the Beit Lid base in central Israel this evening are directly harming Israel’s security.

Over the past day, the IDF says it has been preparing for its retaliation against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the rioting has been a major distraction.

Top IDF officers, including Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, stopped critical discussions on the north to deal with the infiltration into the bases.

Halevi visited the Beit Lid base this evening following the rioting. (Read more)

2. Israel’s Security Cabinet authorizes response to Hezbollah attack - JNS

Israel’s Security Cabinet on Sunday night authorized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to retaliate against Hezbollah for Saturday’s deadly strike on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights.

During a four-hour meeting at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, lawmakers gave Netanyahu and Gallant the green light “to decide on the manner and timing of the response” against Iran’s Lebanese terror proxy.

Twelve children were killed and more than 40 people were wounded by the Hezbollah missile strike on the northern Druze town, marking the Iranian proxy’s deadliest attack on Israel since Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre. (Read more)

3. Visiting Beit Lid base, IDF chief says right-wing riots are ‘bordering on anarchy,’ harm army and state - Times of Israel

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi says rioting harms the military, during a visit to troops at the Beit Lid base in central Israel, after a right-wing mob stormed the facility in protest of the questioning of reservists suspected of abusing a Palestinian detainee.

“We came to Beit Lid… to make sure that nothing more serious happens. The arrival of rioters and attempts to break into the bases is serious behavior, against the law, bordering on anarchy, harming the IDF, the security of the state and the war effort,” he says. (Read more)

4. Beit Lid Base: Protesters break into military court building - Israel National News

Protesters managed to break into the military police base at Beit Lid Monday evening, in protest against the arrest of eight soldiers earlier in the day at Sde Teiman on suspicion of abuse of a terrorist.

The protest organizers condemned the break-in and asked not to confront the soldiers but only to express protest outside the base. One of the organizers wrote: "We came to support the soldiers and not to create anarchy. Do not harm the soldiers, do not fight with them, and do not push them. We are here for a demonstration of support for them, not against them.''

The quick response force in the base repelled the intrusion with riot gear and pepper spray.

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari arrived at the base and spoke with the soldiers after they were attacked by protesters. (Read more)

5. Israeli Foreign Minister Calls on NATO to Expel Turkey After Erdogan Threatens to Invade Israel - Algemeiner

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Monday urged NATO to expel Turkey after its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an explicit threat to invade Israel.

“In light of Turkish President Erdogan’s threats to invade Israel and his dangerous rhetoric, Foreign Minister Israel Katz instructed diplomats … to urgently engage with all NATO members, calling for the condemnation of Turkey and demanding its expulsion from the regional alliance,” the foreign ministry said, according to Reuters.

“Turkey, which hosts the Hamas headquarters responsible for terrorist attacks against Israel, has become a member of the Iranian axis of evil, alongside Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis in Yemen,” Katz said in the statement, listing Middle Eastern terrorist groups backed by Iran.

Erdogan, a fierce critic of Israel, on Sunday threatened that Turkey might invade the Jewish state in support of the Palestinians. (Read more)

1. WATCH: Ron DeSantis: 'They have to whitewash' Kamala's background 'to make her palpable' - WND

Florida Gov. Ron Desantis says Democrats in power along with their left-leaning friends in the media and Hollywood "have to whitewash" the background of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris "to make her palpable to the American people."

The former 2024 Republican presidential candidate appeared on "Sunday Morning Futures" on the Fox News Channel, telling anchor Maria Bartiromo:

"The Biden-Harris policies put the Democratic Party in a very precarious situation this election, and then the debate where Biden, they tried to do the basement for three-and-a-half years, and it was clear after that debate that was not gonna the happen." (Read more)

- Lord we just pray that You open the eyes of the people to see what is going on with erasing the past of Kamala. Let the people see the deception in this, and the manipulation in this. We pray for this election cycle and that your will be done against All odds, against All deception, and cheating, in Jesus' name.

- "They conceive trouble and give birth to evil; their womb fashions deceit."          (Job 15:35)

2. Pennsylvania Police Commissioner Says Secret Service Won’t Share Operations Plan For Day Of Attempted Assassination - MSN.com

Speaking before the House Committee on Homeland Security on Tuesday, the commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police revealed that the Secret Service has refused to release to him the operations plan they had for the day of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Colonel Christopher L. Paris, commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, who noted he had asked for the Secret Service operations plan for the day but had yet to receive it, stated:

"Each day ….I learn multiple new facts as we uncover new information. … Prior to the shooting, our role was to provide the  Secret Service with personnel and assets that they requested. Our operation plan completed, to fulfill this responsibility consisted of 32 members, and we had two main responsibilities: a motorcade operation for the transportation with the Secret Service of former President Trump as well as manning and staffing security posts inside the secure area of the Butler County Farm Show. Additionally we provided two marked cars with uniformed troopers outside of the secure perimeter to provide roving duties, as the name implies, responding to incidents that may occur as a large gathering of people were moving to the venue."

Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS) commented, “The fact that the Secret Service is stonewalling your investigation, that they’re not providing you this information, we saw the testimony yesterday from the Secret Service Director where she refused to answer questions and has now resigned, I find that to be especially troubling. We have the Secret Service not wanting to cooperate with Congress, not wanting to cooperate with a fellow law enforcement agency, and I personally find that troubling.”

Rep. Mark Green (R-TN), who chairs the committee, and visited the Butler, Pennsylvania site on Monday where the attempted assassination took place, stated, “I, for one, was struck by how close the unsecured building from which (the shooter) took his shot was to the stage where President Trump was standing. … after several of our committee members climbed on the roof, let me tell you, any excuse about the roof being too steep to post a counter-sniper team up there is pure nonsense.” (Read more here)

- Yes, Lord it is troubling that the Secret Service is not cooperating with the Pennsylvania police force and releasing their operations plan for the day of the attempted assassination, and that the Secret Service director refused to answer questions from Congress. We pray You bring out the truth of what really happened that day, and all cover up that is happening.

- "Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient." (Ephesians 5:6)

3. U.S. city's ban on home Bible studies reaches climax - WND

A California city that had banned home Bible studies, and threatened one resident with zoning violation prosecutions, has decided to back down.

Officials there also say they are reworking their present city ban on renting any public facility for "any" religious event.

The news about the developments in the City of Manhattan Beach, California, comes from the American Center for Law and Justice, which has worked on the situation there.

The legal team announced this week that the city "has reversed course and provided assurances that it will not interfere with residents' in-home gatherings and Bible studies simply because they are religious." (Read more)

- Thank you, Lord, for your favor! Thank You, the city officials, have backed down and reversed their course and are now permitting Bible studies in this city.

- "Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!" (Psalm 90:17)

4. First lady Jill Biden had high praise for the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics this weekend, despite widespread criticism that the performance mocked the Last Supper.4. - Fox

First lady Jill Biden had high praise for the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics this weekend, despite widespread criticism that the performance mocked the Last Supper.

Biden led the U.S. delegation to the Olympics and called the opening ceremony "spectacular." Despite the festivity, heavy rain drenched the athletes from all nations as they paraded down the river Siene on boats.

Biden remarked that the U.S. would have to work hard to top Paris' opening ceremony when the games are held in Los Angeles in 2028.

"So, last night, it was just spectacular," Biden said in a statement. "The rain did not dampen our spirits…. Every step of the way, I was thinking to myself, oh my god, oh my god. How are we going to top this?" (Read more)

5. Olympic fury as French Bishops Conference 'regrets' scenes with 'Christianity mocked and ridiculed' - MSN.com

Several U.S. and world lawmakers denounced the Paris ceremony after drag queens and artists made a spectacle of the Leonardo DaVinci painting, the Last Supper, which depicts the last meal Jesus had with his apostles.

"Last night’s mockery of the Last Supper was shocking and insulting to Christian people around the world who watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games," House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a post on X. "The war on our faith and traditional values knows no bounds today. But we know that truth and virtue will always prevail." He then referred to the Bible verse John 1:15, which reads, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini posted a picture of the drag queens over another picture of the Last Supper, criticizing the act. "Opening the Olympics by insulting billions of Christians around the world was a really bad start, dear French," he wrote. "Seedy." (Read more)

- Lord, we are appalled at this ceremony mocking The Lord's Supper. We pray You open their eyes to the mockery and may they repent of their actions.

- "Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance." (Ephesians 1:18)

6. What we know about the attacks on France's high-speed rail network and their impact on Eurostar and the Paris Olympics -ABC

Hours before the Olympic Games opening ceremony was due to begin, a coordinated arson attack brought down Paris' rail network.

The train lines link to different cities hosting events over the coming weeks, including Bordeaux and Lille, as well as international stations.

Here's what we know so far:

Where were the fires?

The "deliberate fires" damaged signalling infrastructure at Courtalain in western France, Croisilles in the north and Pagny-Sur-Moselle in the east, national rail operator SNCF said. . .

Who was affected?

About 800,000 passengers are expected to be affected over the weekend as the damage is heavy and labour-intensive to repair.

About 250,000 were affected on Friday alone, SNCF said.

What do we know about the culprits?

Mr Farandou said railway workers doing night maintenance in central France had spotted unauthorised people, who fled when the workers called in police.

Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete said that the people had been spotted with "vans", and "incendiary devices were found on the scene" of the attacks, calling it an "obscene criminal attack".

"This operation was prepared, coordinated, sensitive sites were targeted, which demonstrates some kind of familiarity with the network to know where to strike," Mr Attal said.

What happens now?

SNCF said it is now working to repair the network.

"There's a huge number of bundled cables. We have to repair them one by one, it's a manual operation [requiring] hundreds of workers," Mr Farandou said.

But by early afternoon on Friday, Mr Vergriete said that some departures were going ahead, with "one in three" trains operating from Paris' Montparnasse station, the line towards Bordeaux and the Atlantic coast. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray they would be able to get these trains and the network repaired in record time since the Olympics are happening right now. We pray protection over Paris during this time since so many people have converged upon this city to be a part of the Olympics.

Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
The Daily Jot

Do you have the peace of God?

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 29, 2024

Every presidential candidate since around 1976 has promised peace in the Middle East. Very few have ever achieved it. Reagan had some success. Both Bush father and son couldn’t get there. Clinton favored the Muslims. And Obama destabilized the Middle East with his Arab Spring movement that replaced somewhat stable governments with radical Islamic despots. Trump achieved Middle East peace with the Abraham Accords, but still relied on the failed proposition of a two-state solution, but in reality, he defunded the Palestinian Authority terrorist apparatus and the Iranian government’s terrorist funding. Biden-Harris oversaw the current Hamas attack on Israel. So what is true shalom, or peace?

In Numbers 25-30, the LORD made a “covenant of peace” with Israel when Pinchas stepped up and put a spear through Zimri, an Israelite tribal leader, and a Midianite princess who were in the act of fornication. The LORD made a covenant of shalom with Pinchas and his descendants and rewarded them an eternal priesthood because of Pinchas’ zealousness for God. This informs us about true peace. A covenant is a mutual relationship with reciprocal benefits, and the Hebrew word “shalom” conveys a sense of wholeness, completeness. The covenant of peace then, is a relationship that is complete and everlasting. Read More

FBI Confirms Trump Was Struck in Ear by Bullet During Assassination Attempt
FBI Confirms Trump Was Struck in Ear by Bullet During Assassination Attempt
The FBI confirmed that the former president was hit by a bullet, ‘whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces,’ during the July 13 shooting.

The FBI on July 26 clarified that former President Donald Trump was hit by a bullet or a bullet fragment during an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania earlier this month, after the FBI’s director last week suggested that glass, shrapnel, or a bullet could have struck the former president’s ear.

During a congressional hearing on July 25, FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers that with regard to the shooting of former President Trump at a Butler, Pennsylvania, campaign rally, there was “some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.”

However, the FBI confirmed on July 26 that the former president was wounded by a bullet.

“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” an FBI spokesperson said in a statement issued to The Epoch Times.

Mr. Wray’s comment drew controversy in Congress, with some House members later asking that he offer a statement to clarify his testimony. The former president’s medical records about the shooting haven’t been released to the public.

Former President Trump, meanwhile, wrote on social media that it was a bullet that hit his ear, not glass or shrapnel.

“No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel,” the 45th president wrote on Truth Social on July 26. “The hospital called it a ‘bullet wound to the ear,’ and that is what it was.” (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God, Holy One, we all continue to praise You for saving the life of our next President, Donald John Trump. We thank You that You have heard the countless prayers of your people, according to Psalm 91, for his protection. We thank You that Your hand of protection will continue to rest upon our President now, and all the days ahead. Amen.

Trump rally shooting victims’ families break silence, thank community for 'outpouring of support'
Trump rally shooting victims’ families break silence, thank community for 'outpouring of support'
David Dutch and James Copenhaver are recovering after they were injured in the Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump rally shooting

BUTLER, Penn. – The families of the two injured bystanders in the attempted assassination of former President Trump have broken their silence after the shooting left their loved ones hospitalized.

James "Jim" Copenhaver's family thanked people for the "outpouring of support" as he recovers from his "life-altering injuries" at Allegheny General Hospital.

"Jim would like to especially thank the first responders, medics, and hospital staff who have provided him with initial and continuing care," the family said in a statement released by Allegheny Health Network. "Additionally, Jim would like to express his thoughts and prayers for the other victims, their families, and President Trump."

"He prays for a safe and speedy recovery for them all," they said.

Allegheny Health Network said that Copenhaver "was discharged from Allegheny General Hospital late Friday."

74-year-old Copenhaver and 57-year-old David "Jake" Dutch were both critically injured when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, July 13.

Dutch's family also released a statement on their loved one's recovery, sharing that he was upgraded to "serious but stable condition" on Wednesday.

The family thanked the surgical team at the Western Pennsylvania hospital for "saving" the 57-year-old's life following the horrific shooting at the Butler County Fair Grounds.

"David and our entire family are especially grateful to all the first responders and medical professionals who saved his life, including the Life Flight and trauma surgical teams at AGH," they said in a statement released by the Allegheny Health Network. "As we focus on David's recovery, we also offer our deepest condolences and prayers for the other victims of this tragic event and their families."

Dutch was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, July 24.

Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed in the shooting while former President Trump was left injured when a bullet grazed his ear.

Comperatore was remembered at his funeral as a loving father and loyal firefighter. He died while shielding his family from the onslaught of gunfire that erupted at the rally.

Trump commemorated the fallen firefighter at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, with Comperatore's firefighter jacket and helmet displayed on stage.

"He lost his life selflessly acting as a human shield to protect them from flying bullets... what a fine man he was," Trump said during his RNC speech. "There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for others." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Mighty King Jesus, this tragedy shaking the lives of three families so dramatically and the life of the nation is heartbreaking.  We ask for Your deep love to fill the homes of each one of these ones, in the same way as You have for all of the J6 patriots who have also been so cruelly imprisoned by an evil enemy.  We thank You Abba that this nation is founded on You and there is no greater love than what You have poured out upon us.  May we all strive together to apprehend the depth and breadth of your lovingkindness in this time and make a powerful commitment to work together for the good of this nation.  We pray for those who are manipulated by the adversary and forgive them so that they would have the opportunity to know Your great grace, repent and come to Jesus.  Amen.

- "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  (Romans 8:38-39)

Virginia pastor cites 'profound' message in Psalm 145 as 'lifeline' in 'darkest times'
Virginia pastor cites 'profound' message in Psalm 145 as 'lifeline' in 'darkest times'

'God sees you and He is ready to provide,' says pastor and faith leader

A "simple yet profound" verse from the Bible "speaks to the core of our spiritual and physical sustenance, reminding us of God's unwavering provision and care," pastor Işık Abla of Virginia told Fox News Digital.

She referenced Psalm 145:16: "The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs."

The verse is from Psalms, a collection of 150 poems, songs and prayers written in ancient Hebrew, according to the website Bible Project. A little less than half these psalms are attributed to King David, about a third are anonymous — and the rest are attributed to a variety of authors.

Psalm 145 is attributed to King David.

Abla is senior pastor of Dream Church International in Virginia Beach and the author of many Christian books. Born in Turkey and raised as a Muslim, she moved to America while fleeing an abusive marriage, as her website notes.

For Abla, this line from Psalm 145 "is not just a comforting phrase for me — it is a lifeline that has seen me through some of the darkest times of my life."

She continued, "As a single mother, I faced challenges that seemed insurmountable. I remember the days when I was broke and struggled to provide for my daughter. There were times when I couldn't see a way forward, yet God always provided. When it seemed there was no way, He made a way." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Holy One, what a beautiful story of redemption and security in Your loving hands, no matter how hard the hardships.  This verse is strength and life and we pray for more people in this nation to grab hold of and cling to the tangible reality of Your word.  We bless this sister and ask You to continue to show Yourself strong in her congregation and family, as well as in the life of every person holding onto Your word.  Please open up the doors of provision and strength, in Jesus name.

- "He sent His word and healed them,  And delivered them from their destructions.  Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!"  (Psalm 107:20-21)

A historic mining community is decimated as the Park Fire and other massive wildfires rage in the Western United States

Wildfires are raging out of control in the Western United States and Canada – destroying homes, forcing evacuations and injuring residents. One inferno has reportedly destroyed the historic mining community of Havilah. Another has scorched more than 360,000 acres of California – an area larger than the city of Phoenix. Here’s the latest:

• Borel Fire ravages historic mining community: The fire in Kern County, California, “swept through the community of Havilah and Piute Meadows Ranches,” CalFire said. Havilah was discovered in 1864 and served as an active mining center for more than 20 years, according to California State Parks. The Borel Fire had burned more than 50,000 acres and was 0% contained as of Sunday night.

• Hope for stopping wildfires’ spread: The weather forecast for the Northwest calls for lighter winds than the area has seen in recent days, giving firefighters some optimism about slowing the progress of the Park Fire and more than 100 other large wildfires burning across the region. Temperatures across much of the West will be at or below average to start this week, with forecast highs through Tuesday ranging between the 60s and 70s along the Pacific Coast and the 70s and 80s in the inland Pacific Northwest.

• Park Fire is largest active wildfire in the US: The Park Fire, the seventh-largest wildfire in California history, has now torched more than 360,000 acres, or 560 square miles – an area larger than Phoenix. The fire has destroyed 100 structures and threatens thousands more, according to CalFire. It was 12% contained as of Monday morning, but evacuations warnings or orders remained in Butte, Tehama, Plumas and Shasta counties. President Joe Biden has directed his administration to do everything possible to support ongoing fire suppression efforts, a White House official said. Although an increase in humidity dampened fire activity early Monday morning, CalFire officials expect an increase in fire activity Monday afternoon because of southwest winds and dry vegetation. The Games in Paris:
Golden Opportunity for Outreach?
WASHINGTON – Experts predict an estimated 15 million people will travel to attend the summer games in Paris – nicknamed the “City of Light.” With more than 3 billion people tuning in to watch 10,500 of the world’s premier athletes compete for gold, Christian ministries and some athletic competitors see a golden opportunity to fulfill Jesus’s call to be the “light of the world.” Daniel Roberts, 26, of Georgia, qualified for a spot running the 110-meter hurdles for Team USA in late June. He told CBN News his identity as a Christian outshines any acclaim or attention he receives as an elite athlete. “We’re all here to worship God in our own special way,” Roberts said. “This is just a different way that I use my abilities and my gifts to bring glory to Him.”

Beyond the support of his family, friends, coaches and teammates, he’s also getting spiritual reinforcement from sports ministries like Athletes in Action, which is devoted to developing the mind, body and soul. The ministry believes the transcending power of sport can be used to reach the ends of the earth with the message of the gospel. When Frank Shelton lands in Paris, he and his team of volunteers will be praying for “divine appointments” to guide their time in the French capital, where they will serve as chaplains to the athletes. Shelton told CBN News Christians do a good job helping the poor but fail to minister effectively to what he describes as “the powerful, prominent and popular. They’re bold in what they do,” he explained referring to athletes who share their faith publicly. “And we need to be bold in sharing the gospel. I just don’t believe that we should be saints sitting on the sideline. We got to get in the game.” (Charisma News) Read More Here

- Abba, we thank You for the opportunity for divine appointments to spread the gospel at the Olympic Games! Guide each Christian athlete and give them boldness in sharing the truth about Jesus. Bless "Athletes in Action" and "Youth with a Mission" as they minister in Paris giving all Glory to God. In the Name of Yeshua, we declare there will be a harvest of surrendered lives for Jesus and His powerful Name will be proclaimed to the Nations! Amen and Amen.

Thought for the Day

"God is our refuge and strength,
A
 very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the
midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the
tabernacle of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be
moved;
God shall help her, just
at the break of dawn."
(Psalm 46:1-5)

A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Scripture: Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name. Psalm 29:2

Lyrics:
Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!

Refrain
Glory to His name, glory to His name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His name!

Refrain

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to His name!

Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His name!

Refrain
