Hezbollah Rocket Attack Kills 12 Children, Raising Specter of War with Lebanon
|

It was a painful day yesterday.
As families across Israel were enjoying a day of rest, the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon began launching several rocket projectiles into Israel in the late afternoon. Children were playing soccer at a park in the middle of Majdal Shams, a Druze city in the Golan Heights. The sirens sounded, but due to their proximity to the border, they did not have enough time to run to a bomb shelter. The rocket was maliciously fired right into a civilian area, killing around 14 children and injuring several more. The whole country is heartbroken and grieving from the worst attack on civilians since October 7th. (Besides the Iranian attack, which, thankfully by a miracle, was thwarted).
Who are the Druze?
The Druze community in Israel is a unique and close-knit group with their own religion, which has Islamic roots and incorporates other philosophies, making them quite distinct. They mostly speak Arabic and live in northern Israel, in places like the Galilee and Carmel regions. Unlike most Arabic-speaking communities in Israel, many Druze serve in the Israeli army, showing their strong loyalty to the country. They are our peaceful cousins in Israel and add a rich layer to Israel's diverse society.
There are also Druze communities in Lebanon.
Despite political borders and loyalty to the state they live in, the bond between the Israeli Druze community and the Lebanese Druze community is strong and unified. They see the recent attack as an act of war against the Druze community, not just Israel.
The next few days will be defining moments.
We ask everyone to join us in praying for Israel, Lebanon, the Druze community, and all our allies right now. The decisions that need to be made can make all the difference for the future. We need God’s wisdom and His will to be done in this time. That Israel’s decisions would be made in FAITH and NOT FEAR. This coalition of haters of Israel must be stopped.

Paris rail system disrupted just hours before Olympics opening ceremony Friday
|
|
A major rail system in France has been massively disrupted ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremonies later today.
Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français (SNCF) tweeted Friday morning that "Following this massive attack aimed at paralyzing the high-speed line network, a large number of trains were diverted or canceled."
Jean-Pierre Farandou, the CEO of SNCF, told reporters Friday the attacks on the rail system included "arson" and intentionally damaging cables. The state-run rail line said it doesn't know who's behind the attacks.
Trains to and from Paris will ultimately be affected, and SNCF said approximately 800,000 travelers could feel the effect.
"Affected travelers will be contacted by email or SMS. We ask all travelers who can to postpone their trip and not to go to the station," the rail line continued. (Fox News) Read more here.

Sinaloa Cartel co-founder ‘El Mayo’ taken into US custody
|
|
The Mexican drug kingpin Ismael Zambada Garcia, also known as "El Mayo," who co-founded the notorious Sinaloa drug cartel was taken into custody in El Paso on Thursday, according to the Department of Justice.
Also taken into custody was Juaquin Guzman Lopez, the son of the cartel's other co-founder, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.
"The Justice Department has taken into custody two additional alleged leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most violent and powerful drug trafficking organizations in the world," U.S. Attorney General Merick B. Garland said. "Ismael Zambada Garcia, or ‘El Mayo,’ cofounder of the Cartel, and Joaquin Guzman Lopez, a son of its other cofounder, were arrested today in El Paso, Texas."

Moderate House Dems Push for Crackdown on Noncitizens Voting in US Elections
|
|
A pair of moderate House Democrats are co-leading a bipartisan push to crack down on noncitizens voting in U.S. elections.
Reps. Jared Golden, D-Maine, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Wash., joined legislation being spearheaded by Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Andrew Garbarino, R-N.Y., less than six months ahead of the November presidential election.
The pair of Democrat lawmakers’ support is significant – a bill to repeal Washington, D.C.’s policy allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections was vehemently opposed by the progressive left but wound up passing with support from 52 Democrats.
More recently, House GOP leaders ushered through legislation that would require proof of citizenship in the voter registration process earlier this month. That bill, backed by former President Trump, passed with support from five Democrats but has not been taken up by the Senate. Read more

1. At least 12 killed, dozens injured, in rocket attack in Druze town - Israel National News
At least 29 people were injured - and 12 of them killed - when a rocket hit a soccer field on Saturday afternoon in the Druze town of Majdal Shams in northern Israel.
Magen David Adom has reported that of the injured, six are in serious condition, three are in moderate condition, and ten suffered light injuries and shock.
The soccer field is located near a park, and among the injured and killed are children and teens, ages 10-20 years old. (Read more)

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he was “shocked” to see the attack by Hezbollah on Majdal Shams.
“Among the murdered were small children who were playing soccer,” he says in a video statement, “and others were also other murdered. Our hearts are all broken by these sights.” “We embrace the families, embrace the entire Druze community in its difficult time, which is also our difficult time,” he says.
Netanyahu pledges that Israel will “not let this pass in silence.”

3. Talks on hostage release deal: Israel to send negotiating team to Rome next week - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed, at the start of his meeting with former US President Donald Trump on Friday, that he is sending a team to Rome at the beginning of the week for talks on a hostage release deal.
"I hope we get a deal. Time will tell. We are definitely eager to get a deal and we are working on it,” Netanyahu said.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian source told Al Qahera Al Ikhbariya that "an Egyptian security delegation will participate in the quadrilateral meeting in Rome on Sunday." (Read more)

i24 News – The Israeli military on Saturday issued fresh evacuation orders to Gazans in the southern city of Khan Younis, citing intelligence that Hamas terrorists have re-embedded themselves in the designated humanitarian zone.
An Israel Defense Forces press release detailed the adjustments to the boundaries of the humanitarian zone, calling on Palestinians sheltering in the area to temporarily relocate to the adapted zone in al-Mawasi.

The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida reported that Iran has supplied Hezbollah and other Iranian proxy forces with electromagnetic ordnance, which can disable communication systems and shut down radars. Rotem Mey-Tal, CEO of Asgard Systems, a company developing military technology for the defense industry and the initiator of the "30U30 in Defense" competition for 2024, discussed the issue.
First, what is electromagnetic ordnance?

1. Gavin Newsom to Order State Officials to Dismantle Homeless Encampments Following SCOTUS Ruling- Breitbart
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is set to sign an executive order to push state officials to start dismantling the vast homeless encampments that plague the state, following the recent Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruling that doing so is not “cruel and unusual punishment” under the Eighth Amendment.
Members of Newsom’s administration said that agencies around the state will be ordered to act “with urgency and dignity” on Thursday, the New York Times reported.
While the executive order cannot force local Californian governments to ramp up the anti-encampment enforcement, Newsom is reportedly set to “exert political pressure through billions of dollars the state controls for municipalities to address homelessness.”
The move comes after the late June City of Grants Pass v. Johnson ruling, which stemmed from an Oregon city’s ban on homeless residents sleeping outdoors being challenged.
In writing for the majority, Justice Neil Gorsuch expressed sympathy for homeless people and the complexity of the issue but said that laws against encampments were “commonplace” and argued that the Eighth Amendment was a “poor foundation” on which to challenge them. Read more

2. Pentagon Finds Another $2B of Ukraine Aid Accounting Error- Newsmax
The Pentagon has found $2 billion worth of additional errors in its calculations for ammunition, missiles, and other equipment sent to Ukraine, increasing the improperly valued material to a total of $8.2 billion, a U.S. government report revealed on Thursday.
The U.S. Department of Defense has faced challenges in accurately valuing defense articles sent to Ukraine due to unclear accounting definitions, a new Government Accountability Office report showed.
In 2023, the Pentagon said staff used "replacement value" instead of "depreciated value" to tabulate the billions in materials sent to Ukraine. The $6.2 billion error created a path for billions more to be sent to Kyiv. Read more

3. Trump blasts FBI Director Wray’s testimony of ‘shrapnel’ hitting him and not a bullet - Fox
Former President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform on Thursday evening to rip into FBI Director Christopher Wray after his congressional hearing regarding the assassination attempt on Trump.
Wray testified that he wasn’t sure if it was a bullet that struck Trump in the ear while he was at an outdoor rally in Butler, Penn., on July 13.
"I think with respect to former President Trump there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear," Wray said at Wednesday’s hearing.
Trump, who nominated Wray as the FBI director in 2017, went full blast on his former appointee after the hearing.
"FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively "uneventful" - Wrong!" Trump wrote on his on social media site. Read more

4. REPORT: Leaked Democrat Memo Reveals Effort To Spin Kamala Harris’ Role As Border Czar – Daily Caller
Democrats have reportedly been sending talking points to lawmakers and potentially others regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ stint as border czar during the ongoing migrant crisis.
A Democratic lawmaker said they and some of their colleagues received a document with guidelines about how to discuss Harris’ role in addressing the problem at the southern border, according to Outkick. A picture of the document has been circulating on social media.
The memo includes various talking points such as “There has never been such a position” as border czar. Another says the vice president “Was NOT asked to lead on the Admin’s immigration or border enforcement policies.” One of the lines said the vice president’s role was to “focus on changing conditions in OTHER countries, NOT U.S. border.”
It appears Democrats and members of the press have already been using some of the talking points. NBC News published a piece in which it suggested that the term “border czar” was a term concocted by Harris’ critics. Read more

5. Teacher’s Union Accused Of Laundering $1.5 Million To Bankroll Josh Shapiro’s Campaign – Daily Caller
A watchdog group on Thursday accused a Pennsylvania teacher’s union of laundering $1.5 million to illegally fund Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s 2022 campaign.
The Freedom Foundation filed three complaints that allege the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) illegally laundered and sent $1.5 million to fund Shapiro’s campaign, according to a press release by Freedom Foundation. The complaints were filed with various parties in Pennsylvania, including the FBI and IRS, as Shapiro has emerged as a contender to become Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.
“PSEA’s scheme to secretly launder nearly $1.5 million in members’ dues through the Democratic Governors Association to support Josh Shapiro’s 2022 candidacy appears to have violated both an array of Pennsylvania laws and the Internal Revenue Code,” Freedom Foundation Director of Research and Government Affairs Maxford Nelsen said in the press release. “In the process, PSEA executives displayed as much contempt for their own members as they did for Commonwealth law and voters. Pennsylvania teachers deserve to know that their union’s assurances that the dues deducted from their hard-earned paychecks aren’t being used to back political candidates are worth no more than a politician’s campaign promises.” Read more

Vice President Kamala Harris made a get-out-the-vote pitch on the final episode of the ninth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” set to air on Friday night.
Harris emerged as the Democrat’s presumptive nominee earlier this week when Biden ended his bid for re-election and endorsed her. Biden had faced weeks of backlash and pressure to drop out of the race following the first presidential debate in which he appeared feeble and, at times, incomprehensible.

Over Three-Fifths Of Americans Believe Kamala Harris Covered Up Biden’s Health Issues, Polls Find – Daily Caller
More than three-fifths of Americans believe Vice President Kamala Harris was involved in covering up President Joe Biden’s declining health, two polls found.
President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he was dropping out of the presidential race, and Harris secured enough verbal support from Democratic National Convention delegates on Monday to be the presumptive nominee. The polls, conducted after Biden’s withdrawal but before his Wednesday speech to the country, showed a supermajority of Americans think Harris was involved in concealing Biden’s declining cognitive and physical condition.
A poll by YouGov for The Times showed that 54% of respondents believed that Biden’s health issues were covered up, with 68% of those respondents saying they felt Harris had “a great deal” to do with concealing the truth about Biden’s health. Another poll conducted by The Democracy Institute and Daily Express US found that 62% of Americans felt Harris “lied” to the American public about the president’s health. Read more

Going forward, given the changes in geology park officials say small explosions of boiling water are now possible in the Biscuit Basin over the next days to months.
Yellowstone National Park’s Biscuit Basin area will remain closed for the rest of the summer after a sudden hydrothermal explosion sent debris and water shooting hundreds of feet into the air Tuesday, destroying a boardwalk and sending dozens of nearby tourists scurrying for safety.
"Back up! Back up! Back up!" yelled a visitor as the event was captured on video, as others can be seen running away from the explosion. Miraculously, no one was injured.
Photos from the immediate aftermath showed large rocks, dirt, and debris scattered across the area, with the wooden boardwalk onlookers had just used to reach nearby Black Diamond and Black Opal geothermal pools left in ruin. Read More

Nearly 2,000 Students, 15 Teachers, Walk Out of LGBTQ Indoctrination Lesson
|
|
Nearly 2,000 Minnesota high school students opted out of an "LGBTQIA+ History and Culture" lesson earlier this month, according to a local parent's rights group. The opt-outs came after Liberty Counsel, a non-profit legal group, sent a demand letter to Osseo Area Schools District 279, in March requesting that both teachers and students "whose sincerely-held religious beliefs conflict with the lesson be permitted to opt out of it. Teachers have expressed to Liberty Counsel that this one-sided LGBT political indoctrination violates parental rights and the teachers' sincerely-held religious beliefs; that they object to teaching it; and that they fear retaliation if they seek to exercise their rights under Title VII to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for a religious accommodation," the letter stated.
The school district responded by communicating to students and teachers they were free to exercise their legal rights to opt out of participating. According to 279 Parents United, a local parents' group in Minnesota's Osseo Area School District 279, an estimated 1,800 students and at least 15 teachers opted out of the lesson. The school had to use a cafeteria and auditorium to accommodate the large number of students opting out, according to the group. The school district also confirmed that 394 students officially opted out at Maple Grove Senior High School by filling out a form. "Hopefully, the school district learned a lesson to stop trying to force its agenda on students, parents, and teachers. Nearly 2,000 students and 15 teachers exercised the right to opt out of the 'LGBTQIA+' indoctrination. Public schools must respect the rights of students, parents, and teachers," said Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver. Read More
