Supreme Court Blocks Biden Admin Policy Narrowing Detainment, Deportation of Illegal Aliens
|
|
The U.S. Supreme Court gave Texas and Louisiana a temporary legal victory in the border states’ attempt to strike down a September 2021 Biden administration immigration guideline.
The Supreme Court, in a ruling without explanation on Thursday, allowed a federal judge in Texas to block the Biden Administration’s immigration guideline that, according to the border states’ prosecutors, limits the ability of border agents to detain and deport illegal aliens.
The ruling is a political setback for the Biden administration as it tries to juggle an unprecedented surge in illegal immigration, overburdened Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and an agenda to replace the Trump administration’s more stringent border policy amid bipartisan criticism.
Dissenting justices include Justice Amy Coney Barrett, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Justice Elena Kagan, and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson—marking Jackson’s first vote since the start of her tenure last month. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

|
- Lord, the disaster at the border seems obvious to us. We thank You that this ruling blocked the Biden administration from their plans. We pray that the administration will not go around it, as they normally do, and formulate whatever it takes to secure our border.
- “So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matthew 23:28)

Biden admin. dismisses recession concerns ahead of looming GDP report
|
|
The White House has continued to play off concerns of recession. Both the President and his aides insisted Monday that their administration does not believe the economy will hit a recession despite widespread inflation. Their dismissal came ahead of the GDP report to be released this week, which will show whether the US has experienced two consecutive quarters of shrinking.
White House economic advisers have since tried to ignore the definition of recession, saying even if the advance GDP report comes back negative it’s “unlikely” the US is in recession. Meanwhile, Cambridge economist Mohamed El-Erian criticizes the Federal Reserve specifically for doing “too little, too late” to stop inflation.
In an op-ed for The Hill Tuesday, El-Erian noted the Fed insisted that inflation was not a problem for 15-months until it became obvious inflation has spiraled out of control. The economist said the current inflation rate of 9.1 percent is damaging to economic growth.
As a result. El-Erian said the Fed will now have to raise interest rates aggressively, which will contribute to an impending economic downturn. On top of that, many economists agree the US is sliding into a recession. El-Erian concluded by asserting a recession could have been avoided, but the Fed’s actions will likely cause an economic downturn. (OAN) Read more here.

- Father God, we see what man says, but we trust what You say about our economy. We entrust our every need into Your hands, as You watch over Your people in love. We entrust Wall Street, the Fed, and all other "players" in this report to You, O Lord. We cry out that there be a turnaround in this economy, for You, O Lord, control all. In repentance we offer this prayer to you today, amen and amen.
- "Nothing is too difficult for Thee!" (Jeremiah 32:17)
- "A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps." (Proverbs 16:9)

Pence’s Former National Security Adviser Endorses Trump
|
|
Former Vice President Mike Pence’s national security adviser, retired Gen. Keith Kellogg, said he would back former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup with his former boss.
“Sometimes, you have to pick the lane you’re gonna run with,” Kellogg told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday when asked about a possible contest between Trump and Pence. “I’ve always been a Trump guy.”
Of the relationship between Trump and Pence, “We tried to bring him in tight,” Kellogg said in reference to Pence. “It’s not because we haven’t reached out to him.” Pence advisers “like Marc Short,” Kellogg added in the interview, “have pulled away from the Trump team,” referring to the former vice president’s chief of staff.
Neither Pence nor Trump have declared their candidacies for president. While Trump has strongly suggested that he might run again, there is growing speculation about a Pence 2024 candidacy as he continues to deliver speeches, including one to a conference of young conservatives in Washington on Tuesday.
“If I was putting money in Las Vegas down on the table as to whether he is going to run or not, I think he is running,” Kellogg said of Trump, “but I don’t know.” The retired general said he spoke with the former president several weeks ago.
|
|
Trump also returned to Washington to speak for the first time in more than a year, telling a crowd that the United States needs to place more emphasis on public safety amid rising crime, drug use, and homelessness.
Americans “don’t have safety” and “don’t have freedom” right now, Trump said during a speech at the America First Policy Institute’s America First Agenda Summit on Tuesday.
“Our country is now a cesspool of crime,” the former commander-in-chief said. “We have blood, death, and suffering on a scale once unthinkable because of the Democrat Party’s effort to destroy and dismantle law enforcement.”
Trump added: “We’re living in such a different country for one primary reason … there is no longer respect for the law and there certainly is no order.” (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God, as these two potential races (President Trump and Mike Pence) begin to take shape, we pray in the Spirit over all matters related to these key issues. Lord God, we entrust these campaigns to You, O Lord, knowing that You have all under Your control. in Your name we offer this prayer, amen and amen.
- "In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will." (Romans 8:26,27 AMP)

1. Gantz declares Israel can ‘seriously harm and delay’ Iranian nuclear program - Times of Israel
Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Tuesday that Israel has the ability to cause serious damage to Iran’s nuclear program, and warned that reviving a 2015 pact with world powers to curb Iranian nuclear activities will only be a delaying tactic.
“Iran is a global problem. It is not just Israel’s private problem,” Gantz said during an interview at a Channel 13 conference in Jerusalem.
Asked if Israel has the ability to stop Iran’s nuclear development or merely delay it, Gantz said, “We are able to seriously harm and delay the nuclear [program].” (Read more)

2. Gantz: Israel Maintains ‘High Level of Deterrence’ Against Lebanon After Latest Threats by Hezbollah Chief - Algemeiner
Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Tuesday that the country retains a “high level of deterrence” against Lebanon and Hezbollah, a day after the terror group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah ratcheted up a maritime border dispute by warning that his arsenal could reach targets anywhere in the Jewish state.
“Nasrallah understands that he should be deterred, but things can happen,” Gantz said at a conference held by Israel’s Channel 13 in Jerusalem, citing several drones recently launched by Hezbollah toward the Karish gas field in the Mediterranean. “If he challenges us, we will take up the gauntlet and hurt them.”
The comments came after the head of Hezbollah on Monday escalated threats to attack Israeli targets in the disputed Karish natural gas field, which is set to start extraction in September. (Read more)

4. Shaked Defies Lapid, Authorizes Committee Hearing on Building 2,000 Housing Units in Eastern Jerusalem - Jewish Press
Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee on Monday debated two construction plans in eastern Jerusalem despite Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s order not to convene the committee, so as not to anger the visiting President Joe Biden during his visit to Israel. Lapid did not rescind his order, but seeing as the aging leader of the free world is no longer on hand to be angered, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked gave the go-ahead for the meeting, albeit after one week’s delay.
“I will not allow that only construction plans for Jews would be harmed on my watch, and that’s why I decided to postpone all the plans comprehensively for one week only,” Shaked said at the time.
The committee discussed two construction plans. One, in its initial stage of planning and construction, is called “The Lower Aqueduct” and includes about 1,500 new housing units. It includes construction in an area that’s half inside the green line and half beyond the green line. It’s a politically sensitive area that connects the Har Homa neighborhood to the Givat Hamatos neighborhood, and its construction will cut off Arab neighborhoods such as Beit Tzafafa from the rest of eastern Jerusalem. 5. Nasrallah threatens Israel: There is no target that Hezbollah's missiles cannot reach - Israel National News
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Monday evening threatened Israel and said that not only the Karish gas rig is under threat but all of Israel's gas fields in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
"All the gas fields are under threat and not just Karish. There is no Israeli target, at sea or on land, that Hezbollah's precision missiles cannot reach," Nasrallah threatened in an interview with the Lebanese television channel Al-Mayadeen, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shiite terrorist organization.
"If Israel produces gas from the Karish rig in September and Lebanon does not get what it deserves, we are going to have problems." (Read more)

1. Ted Cruz releases graphic video detailing 'narco slave trade' at southern border - Fox News
The video begins with Cruz and border officials tending to a group of migrants who crossed the border late in the night. He highlights that the vast majority of migrants are being economically exploited by the drug cartels bringing them into the U.S.
"These children come in in debt to vicious cartels thousands and thousands of dollars. The teenage boys work for the gangs in every city in America, and the teenage girls experience a hell worse than that, with far too many of them human trafficked into sex slavery," Cruz says in the video. "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are responsible for the worst plague of slavery in America since the Civil War."
"This is not compassionate. This is not humane. This is barbaric," Cruz adds as the footage cycles graphic photos of migrants who have died attempting to cross the border.

We declare it all null and void and Jesus, we ask You to speak truth to the people before they ever leave their homes.

2. Karine Jean-Pierre slammed for claiming 'economic indicators' don’t show a 'recession or even a pre-recession' - Fox News
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced backlash Monday for saying that "economic indicators…do not show that we are in a recession or even a pre-recession."
Typically, two quarters of negative GDP growth indicate the United States is in a recession. This is the metric traditionally used as a red line to determine whether a recession exists. However, the White House has trotted out a slew of officials to dispute the definition of a recession.
At the White House press briefing, Jean-Pierre was asked about President Biden's statement that "We're not going to be in a recession." (Read more)

3. Brian Kemp testifies in Georgia election inquiry - Washington Examiner
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has become one of the latest politicians to testify before a special purpose grand jury as part of an inquiry into efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.
Kemp was scheduled to testify Monday afternoon to discuss what he knew about then-President Donald Trump's pressure campaign to "find" votes in Georgia after Joe Biden won the state. He is one of several top Republicans in the state to speak to the grand jury impaneled as part of an investigation led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Willis has been examining whether Trump or his allies committed crimes regarding the 2020 election. The inquiry began last year after a call Trump made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking him to "find" the votes needed to tip the Georgia election to him. Trump has defended the call as "perfect" and denied wrongdoing.

4. White House announces sale of additional 20 million barrels of oil from Strategic Petroleum Reserve - Fox Business
The White House announced Tuesday that the Department of Energy will be issuing a notice to sell 20 million more barrels of oil for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of the Biden administration's effort to bring gas prices down.
This makes the fifth such sale that President Biden has authorized. The White House continued to blame "disruptions posed by Russia’s invasion" for the high prices while claiming that the Biden administration's actions are making a tremendous difference.
"In fact, the Department of the Treasury estimates that as a result of these drawdowns both domestically and internationally, the price at the pump for Americans is up to about 40 cents per gallon lower than it otherwise would have been," the White House said in its announcement. (Read more)

- Holy King, we call for this administration to stop selling our oil that is designated as Reserves for the benefit and protection of the United States in times of great need. That crisis is not upon us now. We pray that You would stop the throttling and stripping of the wealth of our nation gained through wisdom and hard work and remove those who do not honor and respect the strength of this nation.
- "Therefore, because you tread down the poor And take grain taxes from him, Though you have built houses of hewn stone, Yet you shall not dwell in them; You have planted pleasant vineyards, But you shall not drink wine from them. For I know your manifold transgressions And your mighty sins; Afflicting the just and taking bribes; Diverting the poor from justice at the gate." (Amos 5:11-12)

5. Texas adds greatest number of oil, natural gas jobs in recorded state history - Just The News
More than 6,100 jobs were added in the upstream oil and natural gas sector from May to June, the highest monthly increase in recorded state history. The Texas Workforce Commission has been recording job data since 1990.
The last monthly industry jobs report record was broken in June 2011 when it added 5,600 jobs.
“The Texas oil and natural gas industry continues to respond to meet the energy needs of Americans and allies across the globe,” Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association, said. “Demand for oil is forecasted to continue growing in 2022 and into 2023, so our nation must support certainty and consistent opportunities for domestic production, pipelines and processing of the products our nation and world depend upon.” (Read more)

- Father, we know there has been a very large decrease in oil production for our nation, as evidenced by the repeated dipping into our strategic reserves, however, we thank You for these many jobs and we pray for people to fill these positions. Please cause these resources to reach into the U.S. first, so that Joe Biden doesn't need to continue doing business with Saudi Arabia, Russia and Venezuela to import domestic oil and gas supplies.

6. Pence unveils agenda for the 'future' as 2024 anticipation builds - Washington Examiner
Former Vice President Mike Pence stoked anticipation of a 2024 White House campaign by announcing his agenda in Washington, D.C., hours before former President Donald Trump took the stage a couple of blocks away.
Pence defended the Trump administration's record while imploring Young America's Foundation's annual conference attendees to look to the future rather than the past.
"I don't know that the president and I differ on issues, but we may differ on focus," he said Tuesday of Trump. "I believe elections are about the future."
"American freedom is under attack" because of "a pernicious woke agenda" driven by "Big Tech, big media, big government" designed "to control the American people," according to Pence. (Read more)

- Father, we bless Mike Pence and wish him well, because there is no doubt that he is a brother in the Lord. Unfortunately, it seems he is no longer anointed for the highest level of leadership. 7. Jared Kushner reveals fight with thyroid cancer and surgery to remove tumor from throat - Washington Examiner
Jared Kushner reveals in a memoir that he had thyroid cancer during his time as a top White House adviser to father-in-law former President Donald Trump.
His secret health battles, which included having surgery to remove a tumor from his throat, were reported Monday by the New York Times, citing a chapter in Kushner's forthcoming Breaking History: A White House Memoir, which hits shelves Aug. 23.
“On the morning that I traveled to Texas to attend the opening of a Louis Vuitton factory, White House physician Sean Conley pulled me into the medical cabin on Air Force One. ‘Your test results came back from Walter Reed,’ he said. ‘It looks like you have cancer. We need to schedule a surgery right away,'” Kushner writes of October 2019 amid trade negotiations with China. (Read more)

- Thank You Father for walking through this uncertain time with Jared Kushner and family. The diagnosis of cancer always stops us in our tracks and draws us to reflect on our faith and our heavenly Father. We pray that this gave Kushner ample opportunity to make sure he was walking rightly before His Holy God and thank You that he is likely to be cancer-free now.

8. Iran tells IAEA cameras will remain off until nuclear agreement revived - Just The News
The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization announced Monday that Iran would continue to keep the United Nations nuclear watchdog’s cameras off until the nuclear agreement is once again signed. The announcement comes as the West and Tehran are currently in a stalemate, with no luck in re-negotiating the 2015-era Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
According to media reports, Iran’s top energy chief, Mohammad Eslami explained that Iran would not agree to address allegations from the UN over unexplained uranium traces demanded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“This announcement is another symptom of how the West has failed to bring pressure to bear on Iran to force it to limit its nuclear program and institute stronger monitoring arrangements, not to mention penalize Tehran’s atomic advances,” explained Andrea Stricker, a research fellow on nonproliferation at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), a Washington D.C.-based think tank. We also ask You to obstruct the U.S. government in every plan for doing business with Iran, most especially, may our nation be completely unable to send our money and resources to strengthen Iran -- a nation that wants to see Israel destroyed. We stand absolutely against these nuclear plans against Israel and ask You Mighty God, to intervene aggressively and completely, to protect the world from these threats, in Jesus name.

9. ‘The money is gone’: Evacuated Ukrainians forced to return - DML News
Tens of thousands of people have returned to rural or industrial communities close to the region’s front line at considerable risk because they can’t afford to live in safer places.
“We cannot win. They don’t hire us elsewhere and you still have to pay rent,” said Anastasia Rusanova, a friend and neighbor, adding that they have nowhere to go. In Donetsk, she said, “everything is ours.”
In Pokrovsk the mayor’s office estimated that 70% of the people who evacuated returned home. In Kramatorsk, a larger city an hour’s drive closer to the front line, officials said that before the invasion, the population was 220,000. That dropped to about 50,000 in the weeks following Russia’s invasion but has since risen to 68,000. (Read more)

10. Russia says it will quit International Space Station after 2024 - NBC News
Russia said Tuesday it will withdraw from the International Space Station after 2024, signaling the end of a joint project that has served as a key symbol of post-Cold War cooperation with Washington.
The move comes as Moscow and the West clash over the Kremlin's war in Ukraine, and casts new doubt over the future of global collaboration in space. Russia has intimated that it sees its future as primarily a cooperative effort with the Chinese space program rather than NASA, its main partner of the last 25 years.
The head of Russia's space agency, Roscosmos, told President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday that the country would exit the ISS and focus on building its own space station, according to state media. (Read more)

- Holy One, only You know what things on earth and in space will be looking like in two years. There are more variables than we can know, but this cutting off of relationship and cooperation in space doesn't feel quite right. We bind the plans of the communist nations against the United States, Israel and other free nations; may there be no space war-games in the future. We pray for peace and honor between these countries, in Jesus name.

Public School Accountability
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 26, 2022
During the past two years, Loudoun County, Va., parents have been embroiled in a battle with the county school board over a myriad of issues from teaching Critical Race Theory to allowing homosexual groups to groom children to implementing a program to transition children from their birth gender. The parents put their foot down and there were some changes made. Just across the state line in Montgomery County, Md., parents are going to have to stand up to the school district’s pandering to the LGBTQ+ agenda, the lying to parents about a student’s plans for gender transition, and the addressing of children by their preferred pronouns. There is no better time to withdraw your child from public schools.
In its “2021-2022 Guidelines for Student Gender Identity” handbook, Montgomery County Public Schools Interim Superintendent of Schools Monifa B. McKnight, writes: “Part of that commitment is making sure our LGBTQ students can express their gender identity free from discrimination, bullying, or harassment. As a school district, we are committed in recognizing and respecting matters of gender identity; making all reasonable accommodations in response to student requests regarding gender identity; and protecting student privacy and confidentiality as we strive to create safe, positive, and respectful learning environments for all of our students.” What this means is the school knows better than the parents and has dictated that students aided by the school staff, can withhold gender information and plans from parents. Oak Fire in California grows to 18K acres, the
state's largest wildfire of 2022
|
|
Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for the Mariposa area because of the Oak Fire.
Nearly 3,000 responders are attempting to contain the Oak Fire burning in Mariposa, California, near Yosemite National Park that torched dozens of houses Monday afternoon.
The blaze, which has covered more than 18,000 acres and is California’s largest wildfire of the year, is being fueled by "extreme drought" and a "high tree mortality [and a] bark beetle infestation" in the surrounding area, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate from their homes, Natasha Fouts, a spokesperson for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (or Cal Fire) told Fox News Digital’s Jiovanni Lieggi.
On Monday, the fire destroyed 21 homes and 34 other buildings and is about 16% contained, the California Fire Department said. It continues to threaten over 2,400 homes in the nearby areas, Fouts added.
"This is the first fire we’ve had this season that is fast moving and destructive and we’re just getting started, so, I like to tell people to hope for the best but prepare for the worst," Fouts said. Read More

Franklin Graham Implores Christians to ‘Lift Biden Up in Prayer’ Amid COVID Diagnosis, Cites Biblical Call
|
|
The evangelist Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham, publicly called on Christians to pray for President Joe Biden amid the commander-in-chief’s COVID-19 diagnosis. “The news reports that President Joe Biden has COVID-19 and is experiencing very mild symptoms,” Graham wrote last week on Facebook. “We need to lift him up in prayer.” He continued, “The Bible instructs us to pray for all those in authority, and that includes whether we agree with their policies and politics or not.”
Graham is referring to biblical commands to pray for leaders — calls some might be tempted to ignore amid political disagreement. Similar sentiments and struggles raged when former president Donald Trump also contracted COVID in 2020. But the Bible is clear in its message to pray for leaders and those in authority. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV) reads, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” Other verses deliver similar calls to believers to submit to and pray for leaders.
Graham received many reactions to his call for prayer for Biden, including a slew of “Amens.” Some wished for the president’s wellness but called for him to “retire” or leave his role; others openly declined to pray for Biden. All of this comes as Biden continues to recover from COVID-19. Presidential physician Kevin O’Connor has consistently updated the public about Biden’s mild symptoms since last week’s diagnosis, noting these issues have continued to improve significantly. Words and Music: Renaissance Carol
Scripture: When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under. Matthew 2:16
Lyrics:
Lully, lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
By, by, lully, lullay.
O sisters too, how may we do,
For to preserve this day
This poor Youngling for whom we sing
By, by, lully, lullay?
Herod the king, in his raging,
Charged he hath this day
His men of might, in his own sight,
All young children to slay.
That woe is me, poor Child for Thee!
And ever morn and day
For Thy parting neither say nor sing,
By, by, lully, lullay.
Lully, lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
By, by, lully, lullay.
