Donald Trump: Kamala Harris Will Be Easier to Defeat than Joe Biden

Vice President Kamala Harris will be an easier candidate to defeat in November than President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump said Sunday after Biden dropped out as the Democrat’s de facto nominee.

Biden endorsed Harris as his replacement about 30 minutes after announcing that he would not run for reelection on Sunday.

It is unclear if Harris can win the nomination. She holds a 36 percent approval rating nationwide, according to FiveThirtyEight.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported Trump’s remarks with her network after Biden stepped aside:

In a phone call with CNN minutes after Biden announced his exit from the 2024 race, former President Trump responded, “He is the worst president in the history of our country. He goes down as the single worst president by far in the history of our country.” While it’s unclear who the Democratic nominee will be, Trump said he thinks VP Harris will be easier to defeat than Biden would have been. - Father, we pray for this matter  because we are watching some very strange things going on and we pray for legitimate and legal order, in Jesus name.  We pray for Joe Biden and ask You, Father, to bring him under Your care, in Jesus name.  We thank You that President Trump will win the election, and we call for a fair and honest one, so this is our focus point in this matter.  We also pray for President Trump to stand strong and rise above the foolishness, so Your light shines through him, in Jesus name.

- "But You, O Lord, shall laugh at them, You shall have all the nations in derision.  I will wait for You, O You his Strength; For God is my defense.  My God of mercy shall come to meet me; God shall let me see my desire on my enemies."  (Psalm 59:8-11)

Trump on Leftists Calling Him a ‘Threat to Democracy’: ‘I Took a Bullet for Democracy’

Former President Donald Trump reacted to leftists calling him a “threat to democracy,” saying, “Last week, I took a bullet for democracy” while speaking at his campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday.

“They keep saying, ‘He’s a threat to democracy.’ I’m saying, ‘What the hell did I do to democracy?’ Last week I took a bullet for democracy. What did I do against democracy? Crazy,” Trump said.

Last week, shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks tried to assassinate President Trump while he was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Notably, Crooks’ assassination attempt came after nearly ten years of Democrat Party members, left-wing activists, celebrities, and the mainstream media calling Trump a “threat to democracy” and comparing him to dictators, as well as openly fantasizing about his death.

As Breitbart News reported, President Joe Biden’s social media alluded to Trump as a “dictator” just minutes before the shooter tried to take the 45th president’s life, firing eight bullets at him from a rooftop less than 500 feet away from the stage on which Trump was speaking.

President Trump was was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear before Secret Service agents descended upon the former president behind the podium. When Trump rose to his feet, he was seen with blood on his face as he addressed his supporters by pumping his fist in the air and shouting, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

The assassination attempt was condemned by Democrats, including the “Squad,” the most progressive members of Congress, although some were hesitant to specifically mention President Trump by name. (Breitbart) Read more

- Holy King, it is high time for all of the unfounded accusations and raging to cease and desist in Jesus name. We bind the false outrage and the hysterical hyperbole about President Trump and command it to be silenced and under our feet, in Jesus name. We pray for truth to run in the streets and honor in the camp of the righteous. Furthermore, we call forth justice over this entire matter and that there is nowhere the criminality can hide from the keen eyes of our Heavenly Lawgiver, in Jesus name.

- "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.' They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.  The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God."  (Psalm 14:1-2)

TOP STORY 3
David Urban: JD Vance Is ‘One of Us,’ Will Help Us Win

Former President Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance is “one of us,” former adviser to Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign David Urban said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday following the Republican National Convention.

Urban talked about Vance’s speech and noted that his family and his history resonate with a lot of Americans who have dealt with a messy family life, noting he just rewatched Hillbilly Elegy.

“My wife and I were watching this last night. We were saying like, everybody in America who sits on their asses and expects you know, government cheese and handout and subsidies and free college needs to watch that movie and realize that greatness can be accomplished with a little effort,” he said, explaining that JD Vance is “the embodiment of that story.”

He said that story will resonate to Americans in his home state of Pennsylvania, particularly. “That message will resonate because he is one of us. … He is a person who not that long ago, was washing dishes,” he said. “He was a person that not that long ago, didn’t have many options,” he said.

“Do you think he was counting on Joe Biden [for a] handout to pay for his college?” he said, highlighting Vance’s service to the country, explaining that he achieved the American dream through blood, sweat, and tears.

“That’s the America we want to talk about — selfless service, sweat, sacrifice, hard work. Nobody gave him anything. That guy earned everything that he has gotten to date,” he said, predicting he will do an incredible job, (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Mighty God, JD Vance's story is the story of America, whether white, black, brown or red, anyone can find the opportunity to work hard and make something better of themselves. We saw that beautifully with Dr. Ben Carson as well as many others. Thank You for helping this nation create pathways for people who are willing to work, to be able to reach heights and conquer challenges that are significant, but attainable.  We pray for JD and his wife to continue moving into the highest levels of achievement by finding Jesus Christ as their Savior and Friend, and may their time in office be surrounded with the goodness of God, in Jesus name.

- "Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.  For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him."  (Isaiah 30:18)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1.  IDF Confirms Deaths of Two More Israeli Hostages in Hamas Captivity in Gaza - Algemeiner

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday that it confirmed the deaths of two more Israeli hostagesbeing held in captivity by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in Gaza.

Alex Dancyg, 75, and Yagev Buchshtav, 35, were abducted from their homes in kibbutzim near the border with Gaza during Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre across southern Israel. According to the Israeli military, the two were believed to have been held together by Hamas in Khan Younis, where they died some months ago while the IDF was operating there.

The military is still investigating their deaths and did not release further details on the exact circumstances surrounding them. According to Israeli media reports, the investigation is looking into the possibility that they were killed accidentally by Israeli fire.

“Yagev and Alex were taken alive and should have returned alive to their families and to their country,” the Hostage Families Forum said in a statement. “Their death in captivity is a tragic reflection of the consequences of foot-dragging in negotiations.” (Read more)

2. Israel’s security chiefs approve 6 week pause in fighting to free hostages - World Israel News

Israel’s security chiefs unanimously agreed that if the current hostage deal were implemented, a 6-week pause in fighting wouldn’t interfere with Israel’s security goals for Gaza, as reported by Channel 12.

As part of a a hostage release and prisoner exchange deal, Hamas demanded a full withdrawal of IDF troops from the Gaza Strips during the initial 6-weeks.

The security chief said this period wouldn’t be sufficient for Hamas to regroup and rearm.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Mossad Director David Barnea, and Shin Bet head Ronen Bar all told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that they agreed with the hostage deal currently being negotiated. (Read more)

3. IDF orders evacuation of part of Gaza safe zone, says Hamas deeply embedded in area - Times of Israel

The Israel Defense Forces said on Monday that it was adjusting the boundaries of the Israel-designated humanitarian zone in the Gaza Strip to better target Hamas following numerous rocket attacks on southern Israel in recent weeks, and urged civilians to evacuate the Khan Younis area amid reports of intensified strikes.

In a message relayed via SMS, phone calls and other media broadcasts, the military instructed civilians in the eastern part of the humanitarian zone to move elsewhere, and warned that “remaining in the area has become dangerous.”

“The IDF is about to forcefully operate against the terror organizations and therefore calls on the remaining population left in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis to temporarily evacuate to the adjusted humanitarian area in al-Mawasi,” the military said, adding that the early warning was aimed at mitigating harm to civilians. The video showed missiles launched by IAF fighter jets striking four large container cranes at the port used to unload shipments.

1. Russia says its jets prevented U.S. bombers violating border over Barents Sea - NBC News

Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday that Russian warplanes prevented two U.S. strategic bombers from violating the state border over the Barents SeaAfter having detected an air target approaching the Russian borders, the military scrambled MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighter jets, the ministry said in a statement. 2. US missiles are welcome in Germany, foreign minister says - POLITICO

Following the announcement, Rolf Mützenich, parliamentary leader of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party, warned that the "danger of an unintentional military escalation is considerable," underlining that the missiles which could be stationed in Germany have "very short warning time and open up new technological capabilities."

The U.S. listed Tomahawk cruise missiles, which can travel up to 2,500 kilometers, and hypersonic weapons currently being developed with the ability of flying at many times the speed of sound, among the capabilities which could be stationed in Germany.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has "continuously expanded the arsenal with which he threatens our freedom in Europe," Baerbock said, adding that reluctance over any additional deterrence "would not only be irresponsible, but also naïve towards an ice-cold Kremlin."

Baerbock, with the Greens, had already found herself at odds with the Social Democrats in a debate over sending Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. "Isn’t it time we not only talked about how to fight a war, but also thought about how to freeze a war and later end it?" Mützenich then said during a debate in parliament. (Read more)

4. China braces for twin tropical cyclones after deadly flash floods - Reuters

Two tropical cyclones will bring gales and heavy rain to China's eastern seaboard this week, with the first expected to make landfall on Sunday, after deadly flash floods struck the country's interior over the weekend.
Prapiroon, named after a Thai rain god, is expected to make landfall in China's southernmost island province of Hainan on Sunday night as a strong tropical storm, the first tropical cyclone to hit China this year, national forecasters said.
Formed in the South China Sea, Prapiroon's centre was about 275 km (170 miles) southeast of the Hainan city of Wanning as of 7 a.m. (2300 GMT).
The maximum wind speed near its centre will be up to 30 metres per second (110 kph) when Prapiroon lands, the National Meteorological Centre said, predicting torrential rains in Hainan and along the coast of Guangdong, China's most populous province.
Later this week, Gaemi, which was about 530 km (330 miles) northeast of Philippine capital Manila on Sunday morning, is expected to brush past the northern tip of Taiwan, then make landfall in China as a typhoon, packing wind speeds of up to 50 metres per second (180 kph), according to Chinese forecasters. 5. US West prepares for more days of record-breaking heat - Reuters

The western part of the United States is sweating through another round of record-breaking heat as a wave is forecast to produce triple-digit temperatures in cities from Southern California to northern Idaho through the middle of the week.

Some 30 million people are under heat advisories or excessive heat warnings in effect through Wednesday, with some projections topping 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 Celsius), the National Weather Service (NWS) said on Sunday. Those states include parts of California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Central Oregon and parts of Washington are also under elevated threats of wildfires due to hot and dry weather conditions, the NWS said.

Firefighters are battling multiple wildfires in Oregon, including the Lone Rock Fire that has scorched more than 116,000 acres (470 square kilometers) in the northern part of the state, according to the Oregon State Fire Marshal. About 40% has been contained. Thunderstorms moving through the state could make the response more difficult, officials said. (Read more)

The Daily Jot

The Red Herring Swimming Around Biden

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 22, 2024

“And now, I want to hand it to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.” ”Look, I wouldn’t have picked vice president trump to be vice president if I think she’s not qualified to be president. Let’s start there.” These two quotes are Joe Biden introducing Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO Summit on July 11 and responding to the first question from Jeff Mason of Reuters in his recent solo news conference also on July 11. No matter how the “party” faithful and news media are spinning Biden’s declined state of cognitive and physical condition, it is increasingly obvious something has been amiss for a long time.

The White House official transcript corrected Biden’s statement about vice president Trump by crossing his name out and replacing it with Harris: “THE PRESIDENT:  Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump[Harris] to be vice president did I think she was not qualified to be president. So, let’s start there.  Number one.” Video posted on Twitter shows various reactions of cringe by Biden’s cabinet members and staffers witnessing the answer. The gaffes by Biden have been pretty commonplace since he took office, although they are increasing in frequency in recent weeks. Members of the news media and politicians on both sides of the political aisle are questioning Biden’s mental competency to run for reelection.

A contentious news briefing was held Tuesday, July 9 where there were many questions about Biden’s mental health and whether he has Parkinson’s Disease, his napping habits, whether his wife Jill makes presidential decisions, and if Hunter Biden has attended White House meetings where classified information is discussed. One interesting exchange was between Fox reporter Peter Doocy and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Doocy asked, “So, say that the Pentagon at some point picks up an incoming nuke; it’s 11:00 p.m. Who do you call? The First Lady?” Jean-Pierre responded: “He has a team that lets him know of any — of any news that is pertinent and important to the American people. He has someone — or — that is decided, obviously, with his National Security Council on who gets to tell him that news.”

In other words, the obvious answer is that other unelected people serve as decision-makers when the “president” is not available. Commander in Chiefs should not leave such urgent national security concerns to bureaucrats on the National Security Council. So the debate rages as to whether Biden should run for reelection. In reality, if this is the debate before us, shouldn’t the real question be: Is Biden fit to serve out his term? That is what people should be asking and demanding a full scale, truthful, analysis from doctors and cognitive experts. Whether he should run for reelection is a red herring. 2 Timothy 3:13 says, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” There is a whole lot of deception going on with American politics and government. Read More

Secret Service Director Admits ‘Significant Operational Failure’ in Trump Assassination Attempt
Secret Service Director Admits ‘Significant Operational Failure’ in Trump Assassination Attempt

The director of the U.S. Secret Service told a House panel on Monday that her agency failed during the assassination attempt targeting former President Donald Trump.

“The Secret Service’s solemn mission is to protect our nation’s leaders. On July 13th, we failed. As the Director of the United States Secret Service, I take full responsibility for any security lapse,” Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle told the House Oversight Committee in prepared remarks after she was subpoenaed, adding that the shooting was the “most significant operational failure in decades.”

During the July 13 incident at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a gunman fired at the former president, striking him in the right ear as well as killing one person and wounding two others.

“We must learn what happened and I will move heaven and earth to ensure an incident like July 13th does not happen again. Thinking about what we should have done differently is never far from my thoughts,” Ms. Cheatle said.

Her appearance before the panel occurred as numerous Republican lawmakers and at least one Democrat congressman have demanded that she resign from her position, saying that her agency did not do enough to provide security to the former president. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) are among those who have called on Ms. Cheatle to step down.

Trump Says He Wasn’t Warned

In an interview over the weekend on Fox News, former President Trump said he was given no indication that law enforcement had identified a suspicious person when he took the stage in Pennsylvania. Some rallygoers said in interviews after the attempted assassination that they saw the gunman on the roof before the former president walked out onto the stage and had alerted law enforcement authorities on site.
In an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, former President Trump said, “No, nobody mentioned it, nobody said there was a problem” before he took the stage and a gunman opened fire.

“They could’ve said, ‘Let’s wait for 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 5 minutes, something.’ Nobody said. I think that was a mistake,” the former president said.

He also questioned the security lapses and how the gunman was able to access the roof of the building. “How did somebody get on that roof? And why wasn’t he reported? Because people saw that he was on the roof,” he said. “So you would’ve thought someone would’ve done something about it.” (The Epoch TImes) Read more here.

- Holy One, we give You the praise and honor for Your heavenly and true Secret Service that performed such a brilliant miracle in front of the whole world and saved the life of Your anointed son so that he may complete his assignment in this earth, in this time, for Your glory.  We call forth full and complete justice over every one of these 'responsible' agencies (USSA, FBI, ATF, DHS) whose neglect opened the door leading to this horrific assassination attempt.  There are many loose ends evident to all, and we call each one to scrutiny and justice with the consequences due for their crimes, in Jesus' name.

- "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.  But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear."  (Isaiah 59: 1-2)

If Biden Cannot Run For Office, Then He Cannot Remain In Office

Democrats successfully launched a soft coup against President Joe Biden after his senility became a political liability, with Biden announcing he would no longer seek the party’s nomination.

But if Biden cannot run for office due to the severe cognitive decline displayed during the debate, then dropping out of the nomination process isn’t enough. If Biden is too senile to run for president, he is too senile to remain in office.

Democrats successfully kept Biden out of the public eye for four years.

They did this because Biden wasn’t a political liability at that point. Voters only caught glimpses of Biden, and when they did, it was largely for scripted remarks. But the debate changed that. Suddenly Democrats were forced to answer for Biden’s mental acuity. But explaining away a man’s inability to put together a coherent sentence, his repeated “forgetfulness,” or even his ability to walk off a stage unassisted was a question that had one answer: Biden is clearly incapable of carrying out the duties he sought to continue to do for another four years.

But if Biden’s incapacitation means he can’t be a successful nominee, he certainly cannot remain in office.

Democrats have two options. Encourage Biden to also resign from the presidency and let Harris assume the role, or Harris must invoke the 25th Amendment.

Democrats are playing politics at the expense of our safety and well being as a nation by allowing Biden to remain in the presidency. Biden’s senility isn’t just a political liability, but a security one as well. Democrats have the opportunity to put people over party. Whether they’re willing to do what’s right for the good of the order is another question. (The Federalist) Read more here.
- Lord God, we continue to marvel at the wisdom that our Founders displayed in writing our Constitution. The 25th Amendment has been included for exactly the situation we are all facing now - a situation that would result in a crisis if we did not have this blueprint to follow. Instead, we are today a nation at peace, where our citizens are yet free to pursue their own destinies without fear of interference from a federal government that is out of control. Instead, we are a government that is in control, because of Your grace that dwells among us. Thank You, O Lord, for this nation. In Your Name, amen and amen.

Netanyahu heads to DC to ‘anchor bipartisan support’ for Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took off on Monday for Washington, where he will seek to solidify bipartisan support for the Jewish state on the backdrop of President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 election.

Netanyahu says Israel will be a key US ally whoever replaces Biden

Israel will be the United States' strongest ally in the Middle East regardless of who is elected president in November, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday before flying to Washington, where he was due to address the U.S. Congress. (Reuters) Read more here.

- Father God, we are grateful to know that Israeli P.M. Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, will "stay the course" and continue with their planned visit here this week. We pray that he will be given a warm welcome by members of the House and the Senate when he addresses them in a Joint Session of Congress tomorrow.

We thank You, too, that he will be welcomed by the thousands who will attend the AIPAC Convention this week, strengthening the bond between our two nations. We thank You for the fact that our only ally in the Middle East, Israel, stands as a tall and a true friend for our nation, even in this time of uncertainty. We ask this prayer, Holy One, in Your mighty name,
amen and amen.

“May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”

He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Newly discovered biblical moat in Jerusalem reveals city's ancient fortifications

A newly discovered, over 3,500-year-old, massive trench separating the City of David and the upper sections of Temple Mount and the Ophel in Jerusalem answered a 150-year-old debate concerning the biblical city Jerusalem, the Jewish Press reported on Sunday.

After 150 years of searching, the route of Jerusalem's northern fortification was finally uncovered during recent excavations in the Givati parking lot in the City of David. The excavations were conducted by the Israel Antiquities Authority and Tel Aviv University, with funding from the Elad Association.

While digging, researchers found cliffs on both sides of what they believed to be a large moat, causing initial confusion among the team. As the work continued and old data was reviewed, it became clear that these cliffs marked the northern boundary of the lower city's fortifications.

“It is not known when the moat was first dug, but it is clear that it was used during the centuries when Jerusalem was the capital of the Kingdom of Judah – almost 3,000 years ago, starting from the days of King Josiah," the Jewish Press cited excavation directors Prof. Yuval Gadot of the Department of Archeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures at Tel Aviv University and Dr. Yiftach Shalu from the Antiquities Authority. Collaboration in Christ: the “sweet spot” in audio Bible distribution
International (MNN) — Unknown Nations embraces the heart of Christ-like collaboration through a partnership with MegaVoice to bring more audio Bibles to unreached people groups. “It’s critical,” Greg Kelley from Unknown Nations says, “that we all recognize what our sweet spots are, where our strengths are, and none of us are going to be able to do it alone, that is, to carry out Jesus’ last words. We have to do it collectively and together. I quite honestly believe that is the environment that Jesus blesses the most.” Unknown Nations focuses on reaching the unreached people groups in the 10/40 window through local missionaries, humanitarian relief, and distributing audio bibles in areas with 0.00-0.02 gospel presence. MegaVoice makes solar-powered audio Bibles and partners with different ministries to distribute them so all people can hear the Gospel in their own language.

Kelley says this collaboration with MegaVoice is vital and allows Unknown Nations to focus on  its “sweet spot”, distributing the gospel to unreached areas. “We need to realize when Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations that requires a church, but it also requires the Word of God. If somebody is an oral learner, then we have to realize there needs to be another way for the Word of God to hit this person’s heart.” According to the International Orality Network, there are 5.7 billion oral learners in the world and 2.7 billion are unreached. As a response to this need, Unknown Nations and MegaVoice agree through their collaboration that teaching everyone how to read is not practical, but to deliver the Word of God through audio Bibles that will reach the oral learner’s hearts and help them become disciples. - Abba, we are grateful for "Unknown Nations", "MegaVoice" and other ministries bringing audio bibles into remote areas for unreached people! Place Your hedge of protection over them as they collaborate together by giving needed humanitarian aid and then sharing the gospel. Bless efforts of each missionary so they may raise disciples to bring salvation to others within their own communities. We declare there will be an abundant harvest of new believers surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ and joining the Kingdom of God! By the power and blood of Yeshua-Amen and Amen.

- "But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?" (Romans 10:14)
Thought for the Day
"I entrust my spirit into your hand. Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God."   (Psalm 31:5)
A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Words and Music: Robert Lowry

Scripture: A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Revelation 22:1–2

Lyrics:
Shall we gather at the river,
Where bright angel feet have trod,
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?

Refrain
Yes, we’ll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;

Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.

On the margin of the river,
Washing up its silver spray,
We will talk and worship ever,
All the happy golden day.

Refrain

Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.

Refrain

At the smiling of the river,
Mirror of the Savior’s face,
Saints, whom death will never sever,
Lift their songs of saving grace.

Refrain

Soon we’ll reach the silver river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease;
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace.

Refrain
