Secret Service’s DEI Focus under Scrutiny after Trump Assassination Attempt
|

In the aftermath of Saturday’s assassination attempt that came within an eighth of an inch from likely ending the life of former President and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, a flurry of questions and controversy have emerged over security lapses at the Butler, Pa. campaign event, with particular scrutiny directed at the Secret Service, which observers say has been infiltrated by left-wing ideologies that have taken its focus away from its primary duty of protection.
. . . Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle stated, “I’m very conscious, as I sit in this chair now, of making sure that we need to attract diverse candidates, and ensure that we are developing opportunities for everybody in our workforce, and particularly women.”
The Secret Service’s website includes a dedicated page to the controversial hiring practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which places an emphasis on racial and gender aspects of prospective employees over job qualifications. The practice has gained widespread scrutiny for taking hold within the FAA and the military, among other government entities.
The unfolding of events in Butler over the weekend have further called into question the Service’s decision-making regarding the agents that were assigned to protect former President Trump. Footage of the effort to evacuate the president revealed that female agents who were shorter in stature than Trump’s 6-foot-3-inch frame were not able to adequately shield him during the rush to escort him to a waiting car.
On Sunday, President Biden stated that he has ordered an “independent review” of the security measures taken for the Butler event and has ordered Cheatle “to review all security measures … for the Republican National Convention.”
More investigations into the incident are also on the horizon in Congress, according to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).
“We’re blessed to have … former law enforcement guys in the House Republican Conference,” he observed during Monday’s “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins.” “We have a former FBI agent. We’ve got lots of military experts and people [with] this [as] their specialty. I’m working with a subset of those members, and we’re compiling a list of questions that we must get answered. The first hearings for oversight will be scheduled next Monday when we return to the Hill. Iran's assassination plot against Trump latest attempt to kill Americans on US soil

One group urges consideration of military strikes against Iran over its behavior

JERUSALEM - The Iranian regime’s plot to assassinate former President Trump is the latest in a string of attempts by Tehran to lethally target American officials and Iranian American dissidents.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has effectively put bounties on the heads of Trump, his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and ex-National Security Advisor John Bolton for their roles in the U.S. drone strike that eliminated the global Iranian terrorist Qassem Soleimani in 2020.
According to the U.S. government, Soleimani was responsible for the murders of over 600 American military personnel in the Middle East.
Fox News Digital reported on Tuesday that the Department of Homeland Security received intelligence from a human source about the planned Iranian assassination of Trump. The Iranian plot is not linked at this stage to the assassination attempt on Trump that the now-dead shooter, Thomas Crooks, carried out in Pennsylvania.
Khamenei, has been described as being hell-bent on assassinating Trump since 2020 following the former president’s order to kill Soleimani in Iraq. In 2022, the Washington, D.C.-based Middle East Media Research Institute published an Iranian-produced animation video depicting the targeted assassination of Trump by the Islamic Republic that was uploaded to Khamenei’s official website.
"The Islamic Republic has used everything from lone-wolf radicals to terror proxies to even transnational criminal syndicates to carry out acts of terror, kidnapping, and assassination abroad over the past four decades across four continents," Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior fellow for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital.
He continued, "Rather than be made to pay a price for its evolving support for terrorism over the years, Tehran has learned that terrorism allows it a deniable military option that most states will ignore or treat as a law-enforcement matter. The regime has learned how to integrate this threat into its asymmetric arsenal, which also includes long-range strike capabilities, maritime harassment, and cyberattacks." (Fox News) Read more here.

After Injured Trump Arrived at Pennsylvania Hospital, ER Patients Prayed

Patients and their loved ones in the ER waiting room saw Trump arrive at the hospital after the assassination attempt. They then gathered in prayer.

With temperatures in the 90s, an ambulance was making round trips between the July 13 Pennsylvania Trump rally and the Butler Memorial Hospital. That is according to Karen Foerster, 53, who was among those overcome by the heat.
She and her husband Rick Foerster, 56, attend most Trump rallies within a 100-mile radius from their Beaver County, Pennsylvania, home. This time they had front row seats.
They arrived at 9 a.m. and gates opened at 1 p.m., but just as the first speakers started, Ms. Foerster was feeling sick from the heat. Her husband recognized she was sick. He called for help and soon, a golf cart came along and whisked her to the medical tent. Before long, she was in an ambulance on her way to the hospital.
The hospital immediately went into lockdown, the Foersters said, and the computer system was down at that time, seemingly as part of the security protocol. People gathered by the window of the emergency room and watched as former President Trump emerged from his vehicle. They were elated once they saw him walking on his own. Secret Service had him surrounded.
Mr. Foerster announced to those in the waiting room that he and his wife were going to pray for the former president and invited others to join them in a corner.
“We had four or five people come over and we just prayed and interceded for him. We held hands. Each one of us took a turn praying, and lifted him up,” Mr. Foerster said.
No one was allowed to leave until former President Trump left. But this time, before he made his way to the car, the Secret Service came into the waiting room, closed the shades, and said, no more photos and videos, Mr. Foerster said.
It struck Ms. Foerster that they had witnessed a moment in history from a different vantage point than most people experienced that day. The couple left the hospital that evening, with Ms. Foerster in better health, and even a bit grateful that her illness sent them to the hospital, so they were not present for the shooting. Democratic Party Plans to Nominate President Biden Before Convention

The Biden campaign said the Democratic National Committee intends to go ahead with its plan to conduct a virtual vote ahead of the convention in August.

President Joe Biden is expected to secure the 2024 presidential nomination through a virtual vote held in the coming weeks, ahead of the Democratic National Convention in August.
Quentin Fulks, President Biden’s principal deputy campaign manager, confirmed on July 16 that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) will move forward with the plan as previously scheduled and organize a virtual roll call before the convention.
“I think the answer here is very simple,” Mr. Fulks said during a news conference in Milwaukee addressing the decision. “There have been virtual roll calls in previous presidential elections.”
The plans to nominate President Biden ahead of the Aug. 19 convention predates his June 27 debate with former President Donald Trump. Following the debate, some lawmakers called on President Biden to drop out of the race.

The Knesset on Wednesday night approved a proposal which establishes the position of the Knesset against the establishment of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan.
The proposal establishes the principled position of the Knesset against the establishment of a Palestinian state. It follows a proposal from February that determined the position of the Knesset against unilateral international recognition of a Palestinian state.
68 MKs voted in favor of the proposal, 9 voted against, and there were no abstentions. (Read more)

2. Knesset votes against the establishment of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan river - Jerusalem Post
The Knesset passed a proposal saying that it was opposed to the establishment of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River late on Wednesday night. The vote passed with 68 in favor of the proposal and 9 against.
The move was put forward by the New Hope-United Right party MK Ze'ev Elkinand was supported by Yisrael Beytenu and The Land of Israel lobby, which has members from across the party spectrum, such as Likud, Shas, and National Unity Party.
The proposal would determine the Knesset's position on the establishment of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River.
It says that the establishment of a Palestinian state in "the heart of the Land of Israel" would pose an "existential danger to the State of Israel and its citizens." (Read more)

3. IAF hits Hezbollah sites in Lebanon amid ongoing rocket fire - JNS
Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in Southern Lebanon overnight Tuesday after the Iranian-backed terror army fired 15 rockets across the border.
The IAF hit terror sites in the areas of Yarine, Ayta ash Shab and Aalma El Chaeb. Additionally, Israel Defense Forces artillery fired to remove a threat in the area of Majdal Zoun.
Sirens sounded around the Mediterranean seaside city of Nahariya in northern Israel at 2:24 a.m. local time. (Read more)

4. Nasrallah threatens to attack additional parts of Israel - JNS
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened to attack Israeli communities that have not come under fire yet if the IDF continues to, in his words, “attack civilians” in Southern Lebanon.
The Iran-backed terrorist army “will continue to launch missiles at settlements that were not attacked before,” Nasrallah said in a speech marking the Muslim holiday of Ashura that was broadcast on Lebanese television. He made the statement after noting an alleged increase in the number of “non-involved” casualties in Lebanon in recent days.
Hezbollah took responsibility for firing around 100 rockets at the Galilee on Tuesday night and into the overnight hours, saying that it was in response to the alleged killing of three Syrian children in an Israeli strike in Southern Lebanon. (Read more)

5. Jewish Couple Spat on, Beaten at Anti-Israel Rally in Berlin; Police Investigating Attack - Algemeiner
A Jewish couple, returning from an ice cream shop, was attacked by a mob of anti-Israel protesters in Berlin on Friday after they noticed a Star of David necklace, according to German media.
As a motorcade of demonstrators chanting anti-Israel slogans passed by on the Torstraße, a demonstrator filmed people on the sidewalk, including the couple identified as Adam, 27, and Hannah, 30, as they walked with their ice cream, the German tabloid newspaper Bild reported.
However, when Adam and Hannah indicated they did not want to be filmed and the former showed his middle finger in anger, the situation escalated. The couple found themselves confronted by “about 15 big guys there, all right in front of us,” Hannah said, according to Bild.
“One of them said, ‘I’ll show you my finger, it will go inside your girlfriend, and when I’m done with her, it will go inside you,'” Adam recounted one of the protesters saying. Then the mob noticed that Hannah was wearing a Star of David around her neck. One of the man “spat in my face,” Hannah said, and “everyone shouted something in Arabic and spat at us. I instinctively threw my ice cream at him. Then they went after Adam.” (Read more)

1. Delegates vote to approve the new GOP platform - Politico
Delegates have officially voted to adopt the new GOP platform. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), co-chair of the RNC’s platform committee, said it was “personally reviewed, edited, and approved” by former President Donald Trump. She praised the platform for protecting “both the born and the unborn.”
A contingent of anti-abortion advocates, however, have argued the platform backtracks on decades of strong GOP advocacy on abortion and raised concerns about the process of developing the platform, which was done in secret.
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council and a platform committee member, said earlier today he was dropping his efforts to publicly oppose the platform in light of Saturday’s shooting. The platform passed with overwhelming support on a voice vote, though there was also a substantial chorus of no’s in the convention room, too. (Read more)

2. Trump shooter’s parents gave heads-up just hours before assassination attempt, more details surface - DML News
Thomas Matthew Crooks’ parents were looking for him on Saturday in the hours leading up to the Trump rally shooting and eventually called law enforcement to indicate that he was missing and they were worried, Fox News has learned.
It’s unclear what his parents told authorities, but the call happened on Saturday before Crooks later opened fire at Trump during the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The parents are being cooperative with authorities and the FBI is still trying to determine a motive for the attack, sources also told Fox News. CNN separately reported that Crooks had requested to be off work on Saturday, and had told his colleagues that he would return on Sunday. Crooks reportedly told his boss he needed that the day off on Saturday because he had “something to do.” (Read more)

An unnamed photo editor at a major news outlet believes it is "dangerous" for the media to highlight the historic photo of former President Trump standing tallafter the assassination attempt Saturday, calling it "free PR" for the Trump campaign, according to a report.
An Axios media trend assessment on Tuesday argued that the "overuse" of the iconic image can "pose risks," citing unnamed photographers who reportedly told the outlet that promoting the viral photos could be a form of "photoganda" because the Trump campaign will use them to "further their agenda, despite the photographers' intent of capturing a news event."
The image captured Trump’s defiant reaction seconds after a bullet grazed his right ear, and he was pummeled to the ground at a rally on Saturday. The former president is seen raising a fist to the crowd of supporters as he was rushed off the stage with blood smeared across his face, Secret Service flanking him, an American flag flying above his head. 4. With sewage gushing into sea, US and Mexican border towns plead for help - Reuters
Each day, millions of gallons of sewage cascade through a canyon and into the Pacific Ocean just south of the U.S.-Mexican border. As any surfer in San Diego knows, summer swells that come from the south will push the toxic brew north.
Meanwhile, millions more gallons of treated and untreated sewage trickle down the Tijuana River and into the sea just north of the border.
When the wind and currents conspire, the odor of fecal bacteria fouls the otherwise quaint San Diego County town of Imperial Beach, where Mayor Paloma Aguirre calls the discharges "the biggest environmental and public health disaster in the nation that nobody knows of."
Were it the result of a hurricane or wildfire, rather than decades of neglect, the crisis might warrant a declaration of emergency, freeing recovery funds to address environmental damage, the threat to public health, and loss of tourism. 5. Import Prices Come In Higher Than Expected, Hinting At More Inflation Ahead - Breitbart
Inflation might not be cooling by as much as thought. The Labor Department’s index of import prices excluding fuel jumped by 0.2 percent in June, partially reversing the 0.3 percent decline in May. While imports are just a small part of the overall inflation picture, the rise in prices indicates strong demand from consumers that could translate into broader price increases.
Including fuel, the import price index was flat for the month. Wall Street had forecast prices to decline 0.2 percent. Imported fuel prices fell by a steep one percent in June, following a 0.4 percent increase in the prior month. Over the past year, import prices were up 1.6 in June, the largest year-over-year gain since December 2022. The prior month’s year-over-year increase was revised up to 1.4 percent from the initial estimate of 1.1 percent.

6. Trump makes huge promise on lowering taxes - DML News
President Donald Trump, in a recent interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, discussed his potential economic policies if re-elected.
He expressed intentions to lower the corporate tax rate to 15%, a significant reduction from the current 21%. Trump also indicated he would not seek to remove Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell before his term ends in January 2028 and mentioned considering JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon for Treasury secretary.
Additionally, Trump stated he no longer plans to ban TikTok and would support a policy of keeping interest rates higher for longer. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: Trusting The FBI And DOJ

With all the vitriol spewed toward Donald Trump over the last decade by the Clinton-Obama-Biden Democratic Party machine, how can anyone trust the FBI or the Department of Justice (DOJ) to do an investigation into the Trump assassination attempt? The FBI and the DOJ have been instrumental in fabricating charges against Trump and using the full power of democrat-held legal positions to conduct lawfare against Trump. Now Joe Biden is saying with a straight face that “the FBI is leading this investigation.” This is like the fox guarding the chicken house. The FBI has been a central player to most every false accusation that the Democrats have thrown at Trump.
Let’s recap a bit. In December 2018, it The Daily Jot reported about a conspiracy to end the presidency of Donald Trump, even before it started. The Democrat-motivated “Special Counsel” to investigate whether Trump and the Russians conspired to defeat the scandal-tainted Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton could have been just part of the conspiracy by the Obama-Biden administration and the Clinton campaign to defeat Trump. Any collusion with Russia was actually evidenced by the Clintons’ pay-for-influence scheme over US uranium transfers to Russia. A cruise liner-size asteroid will come closer to Earth than some satellites. A new mission may be racing to meet it

When a cruise liner-size asteroid comes within 19,883 miles (32,000 kilometers) of Earth on April 13, 2029, it won’t be alone.
The European Space Agency has announced that its new Ramses spacecraft may accompany the asteroid Apophis before and after its safe, albeit rather close, pass of Earth.
The space rock, measuring 1,230 feet (375 meters) across, will come closer to our planet than satellites in its orbit and 10 times nearer than the moon. Apophis will come so close to Earth that it will be visible to the naked eye for around 2 billion people living across most of Europe, Africa and parts of Asia.
To arrive at Apophis in February 2029, Ramses must launch in April 2028. Preparatory work has already begun on the mission using existing resources to meet this ambitious goal, according to the agency. But the ultimate decision on committing to the mission will take place at ESA’s Ministerial Council meeting in November 2025.
First discovered in 2004, Apophis is named for the Egyptian god of chaos and darkness and believed to be shaped like a peanut. Initially, astronomers were concerned that the space rock might impact Earth in 2029 and 2068, but subsequent observations have ruled out any risk of Apophis posing a threat to the Earth for the next century, according to NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies. Actress Nika King, who plays a pastor’s wife in “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” is helping bring to light the movie’s powerful, real-life story about adoption and foster care. But King’s personal connection to the issue and her role in portraying Donna Martin, wife of Bishop W.C. Martin, is truly a story only God could write. See, King’s character, Martin, is a preacher’s wife who inspired 22 families in her church to adopt 77 of the most difficult-to-place children. As it turns out, King’s own mother’s story is strikingly similar to the events depicted in “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot. It’s my mom’s story,” King told CBN News of the movie. “She was fostered by a pastor and his wife. And I knew I had to be in this film some kind of way.”
The actress said her maternal grandma was murdered and that her mom never knew her. “It’s still a cold case,” King said. “We don’t know who did it.” Her mom ended up in foster care with her three brothers. All four were adopted by the pastor and his wife, a similar dynamic to what happened in Possum Trot, Texas — the town that inspired the film. “It kind of unfolded just like this movie … the ups and downs of being traumatized, being left alone, kind of to fend for yourself,” King said. We ask that You would use Nika King and this true story to shine a light upon the urgency of the church's responsibility in making a difference for children in foster care. Prompt every believer's heart to know what You are calling us to do. We pray a powerful impact upon every heart in the audience and Holy Spirit prompting for action to rescue foster children in need, all for the GLORY of God!
