Trump Delivers Remarks at RNC: ‘Running to Be President for All of America’
|

|
Former President Donald Trump spoke at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Thursday night, talking about how he is “running to be president for all of America.”
In his first official speech since the assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally, Trump explained that the current “discord and division” in America “must be healed,” adding that as a nation we either “rise together” or “fall apart.” Trump’s speech comes after he was shot by “a bullet that pierced the upper part” of his right ear after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from the roof of a nearby building.
“The discord and division in our society must be healed,” Trump told the crowd from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. “As Americans, we are boundtogether by a single fate and a shared destiny. We rise together. Or we fall apart.”
The former president added that he was “running to be president for all of America, not half” of the country.
“There is no victory in winning for half of America,” Trump said, adding that he “proudly” accepted the Republican Party’s nomination to be its presidential candidate.
Trump continued to express his “gratitude to the American people” for the “outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt” in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The former president continued on to explain “what happened” that day, and added that people would “never hear it from” him “a second time, because it’s too painful to tell.”

Israel's parliament votes to reject a Palestinian state

Vote garnered overwhelming majority
|
|
JERUSALEM – Israel's parliament – the Knesset – voted overwhelmingly Thursday to reject the notion of establishing a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. The vote was 68 in support of a statement nixing the idea, and nine against.
National Unity Party Member of Knesset Ze'ev Elkin – a former housing and construction minister – sponsored the vote, with support from Yisrael Beytenu – which former defense minister Avigdor Lieberman leads – and The Land of Israel lobby, which has members from across the spectrum, such as Likud, Shas.
The text of the vote read, "The Knesset of Israel is firmly opposed to the establishment of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. The establishment of a Palestinian state in the heart of the Land of Israel would constitute an existential threat to the State of Israel and its citizens, perpetuate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and undermine regional stability.
"It would only be a short matter of time before Hamas takes over the Palestinian state and turns it into a base of radical Islamic terrorism, coordinated with the Iran-led axis, to annihilate the State of Israel. Promoting the idea of a Palestinian state would reward terrorism and only encourage Hamas and its supporters, who would see it as a victory due to the October 7 massacre and a prelude to a jihadist Islamic takeover of the Middle East." Trump Giving Israel a "Blank Check" to Finish Hamas
|
|
The leader of the Republican Jewish Coalition said on Tuesday he interprets Donald Trump’s call for Israel to finish the war in Gaza as a “blank check” for Jerusalem.
Matt Brooks, RJC CEO, addressed reporters following his speech to the Republican National Convention on Tuesday evening in Milwaukee.
Asked about Trump’s calls for Israel to quickly wrap up its war against the Hamas terror group—interpreted by some as a pressure tactic to end the fighting without achieving Israel’s stated objectives—Brooks said that view was off base.
“Everybody misinterprets that statement. What he’s basically saying is, you have a blank check. You need to carpet bomb in the air? Do it. Just get it done, rip the band aid off, finish the job,” said Brooks. “Because Hamas needs to be destroyed. But this is just taking months and months.”
Brooks said Trump is correct in his assessment that “time is not Israel’s ally. The longer this continues, the more public support erodes, the more international support erodes. And Trump’s point was, do what you have to do, get it done and get out.”

1. Top commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force killed in south Lebanon strike - Times of Israel
The Israel Defense Forces late Thursday killed a senior commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force in southern Lebanon, the military and the terror group said.
According to the IDF, Ali Jaafar Maatouk, also known as Habib Maatouk, was an operations officer in the Radwan force’s Hajjar regional unit.
The Hajjar unit is responsible for attacks on northern Israel’s Ramim Ridge region, an area that has come under repeated rocket, missile, and explosive-laden drone fire amid the war against the Hamas terror group in the south. (Read more)

2. Israel bombards central Gaza as tanks advance deeper in Rafah - Reuters
CAIRO/GAZA, July 18 (Reuters) - Israeli forces bombarded the Gaza Strip's historic refugee camps in the centre of the enclave and struck Gaza City in the north on Thursday, killing at least 21 people, and tanks pushed deeper into Rafah in the south, health officials and residents said.
A barrage of Israeli airstrikes killed 16 in Zawayda town, Bureij and Nuseirat camps and the overcrowded city of Deir-Al-Balah, the last major urban centre in Gaza not to be invaded by Israeli forces, health officials said.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is due to address the U.S. Congress next week, made a surprise visit to Israeli troops in the area around Rafah, telling them that military pressure combined with a demand to bring back 120 hostages still held in Gaza was producing results.
"This double pressure is not delaying the deal, it is advancing it," he said, according to a statement from his office. (Read more)

3. IAF targets Hamas-affiliated terrorist Mohammad Jbara in southern Lebanon - Jerusalem Post
The IAF eliminated the Hamas-affiliated Islamic Group terrorist Mohammed Jbara in southern Lebanon, the IDF reported on Thursday.
According to the report, Jbara was trusted with facilitating and carrying out terror operations and launches from Lebanon into Israel, some in collaboration with the Islamic terror organization Hamas in the country.
His elimination impaired Hamas's ability to promote and carry out terror operations against Israel along the northern border, which had intensified in recent times. (Read more)

4. Marking 30 years since Hezbollah's attack on the AMIA Jewish community center - AIPAC
30 years ago today, Hezbollah terrorists carried out a horrific terrorist attack on the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, killing 85 people and wounding hundreds more.
The bombing was planned and executed at Iran's direction, and until October 7 was the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust.
Outrageously, none of the key suspects responsible for the attack have been apprehended. Several have even been promoted to senior positions in Hezbollah and the Iranian government. Argentinian President Javier Milei spoke today at a memorial event and committed to righting decades of inaction and inconsistencies in the investigations into the attack.
Three decades after the AMIA bombing, Iran continues to arm and fund Hezbollah and has turned the terrorist group into a powerful army with a global reach. (Read more)

5. Anti-Israel groups plot citizens’ arrest of Netanyahu during his US visit - World Israel News
A large number of anti-Israel groups have joined forces to call for a citizens’ arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the US.
The move is likely only symbolic, since arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant have been requested, but not granted, by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Netanyahu is scheduled to address Congress on July 24th.

Former rivals and Republicans of all stripes united behind Trump, galvanized by the failed assassination attempt just days before the convention. 5. Did Trump’s Shooter Have Help? - The Economic Collapse Blog
Okay, so we are supposed to believe that a 20-year-old kid “who was turned away from his high school rifle club for being a ‘comically bad’ shot” and that had no military training whatsoever was able to pull this off all by himself? We are being told that it was “a mistake” that the ideal location for a sniper to be located was left unguarded, and somehow Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to identify this oversight and position himself accordingly. Just 150 yards away from where Donald Trump would be speaking, Crooks was able to climb on to a roof with a rifle and stay there for nearly half an hour
before he finally started shooting at Trump. Either this was a cataclysmic security failure, or Crooks had some help somewhere along the way.
According to a former Secret Service agent who was in charge of Vice President Al Gore’s security detail during the Clinton administration, there should have been Secret Service personnel on that roof and “someone dropped the ball” …
Before a high-profile person like Trump attends an event and needs Secret Service protection, the agency conducts a security survey that also takes nearby buildings into account.
William Pickle, a former special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s vice presidential protection division who oversaw Vice President Al Gore’s detail, told USA Today that something was clearly missed. “We know who’s there, why they’re there, we have control over those buildings,” Pickle said. “It seems like somewhere in this security survey, someone dropped the ball on those particular buildings.”
Was this just a mistake, or was it done on purpose?

- Lord God, Only you know all the details of this assassination attempt on President Trump's life. There were many mistakes made by all government law enforcement agencies, local, state, and federal. The perimeter was not safe, rally goers saw the shooter and notified the police nearby. President Trump should never have been on the podium with an active shooter less than two football fields away, on a rooftop, with a loaded weapon. All the lives of the people attending the rally were in danger in addition to the speakers. This is unforgivable as one man lost his life and others were critically injured. The American people want to know what happened? Why did the Secret Service not have a drone or helicopter over the area? 6. Biden Says He Could Quit Presidential Race Only For Health Reasons – The Epoch Times
President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to remaining in the presidential race during an interview that aired on Wednesday evening, stating that he would withdraw only if doctors informed him of a relevant medical condition.
“If I had some medical condition that emerged,” President Biden responded when asked if there was anything that might change his mind. “If doctors came to me and said, ‘You got this problem, that problem.’”
President Biden’s interview with Ed Gordon of BET News was taped on July 16 in Las Vegas. “I made a serious mistake in the whole debate,” the president said, acknowledging concerns about his age and mental fitness, which arose particularly after his first debate with former president Donald Trump on June 27.

Many conservative Christians are upset about the Republican Party Platform softening its stance on abortion and sexual depravity. Some even have vowed not to vote in this year’s presidential election because they see no candidate that upholds the sanctity of life and marriage between a man and a woman. As Christians, are we so wrapped around the political axle, that we forget who we are in Christ and our responsibility as his disciples? What defines us? Are we defined by political stances or spiritual truths? Where do we put our faith? Is our faith in a political party or some candidate, or is it in Christ? These are pertinent questions to ask when it comes to the moral issues with which we are faced as a society.
America seems to be a lot like the Roman Empire. In ancient Roman civilization, child sacrifice to the gods was not practiced and was considered barbaric. Infanticide, however, was not only legal, but encouraged. Fathers were allowed to kill their offspring without reprisal. In “The Rise of Christianity” Rodney Stark writes: “Not only was the exposure of infants a very common practice, it was justified by law and advocated by philosophers.” Table IV of the Twelve Tables of Roman Law—the basis of the Roman Constitution—stated “an obviously deformed child must be put to death.” This law justified the killing of any baby that was unwanted, especially females when Romans wanted perhaps only one daughter and many sons. BULLETIN: Global Outages Impact Airlines, Police Departments and Hospitals

Banks, airlines, television networks and health systems around the world that rely on Microsoft 365 apps reported widespread outages Friday. Thousands of flights and train services were cancelled globally, including more than 1,000 in the U.S., and there were disruptions to many other public and retail services.
Here’s what we know about the outages:

What caused the global Microsoft outages?
The issue was caused by a technical problem that global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said it had identified in its software and was working to resolve. CrowdStrike provides antivirus software to Microsoft for its Windows devices.
“The underlying cause has been fixed, however, residual impact is continuing to affect some Microsoft 365 apps and services. We’re conducting additional mitigations to provide relief,” Microsoft said in a statement posted on social media.
When CBS News called CrowdStrike’s technical support line Friday, a pre-recorded message said the company was aware of reports of crashes on Microsoft systems related to its Falcon Sensor software.
In a statement shared Friday with CBS News and on social media, CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz said the issue had been identified and a solution was being implemented.
“CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted,” Kurtz said. “This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed.”

What has been affected by the Microsoft outages?
Over 1,000 flights had been cancelled within, into or out of the U.S. as of Friday morning, and more than 2,000 others were delayed, according to the the flight tracking service, FlightAware. Globally, more than 21,000 flights were delayed early Friday, and that number was expected to rise.
American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines resumed at least some flight departures later Friday morning after pausing operations earlier in the day due to the outages.
“We are resuming some flights but expect schedule disruptions to continue throughout Friday,” United Airlines said in a statement.
In Europe, Lufthansa, KLM and SAS Airlines reported disruptions. Switzerland’s largest airport, in Zurich, said planes were not being allowed to land, according to CBS News partner network BBC News.
In India, at the country’s primary airport in Delhi, everything was being done manually. No electric check-in terminals were functioning and gate information was being updated by hand on a white board, the BBC reported.
Hospitals in Germany said they were cancelling elective surgeries Friday and doctors in the U.K. said they were having issues accessing their online booking system. Pharmacists in the U.K. said there were disruptions with medicine deliveries and accessing prescriptions.
The London Stock Exchange said it had experienced disruptions to its regulatory news service, but that trading had not been impacted. A spokesperson for the New York Stock Exchange said markets were fully operational and a normal opening was expected.

When will the Microsoft outages be fixed?
New Zealand’s acting prime minister David Seymour said on social media that officials were working hard to understand the impacts of the wide-ranging outages.
“I have not currently received any reporting to indicate these issues are related to malicious cyber security activity,” Seymour said.
A spokesman for Germany’s interior ministry also said there was no indication that the outages were due to a cyberattack, Reuters reported.
But even with the fix being implemented by CrowdStrike, some of the problems caused will likely take time to fix, Chief Information Officer at identity security firm CyberArk, Omer Grossman, told Reuters. He said the reason for this is that the problem has to do with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) products that run on individual client computers.
“It turns out that because the endpoints have crashed — the Blue Screen of Death — they cannot be updated remotely and the problem must be solved manually, endpoint by endpoint. This is expected to be a process that will take days,” Grossman said.

The United States is way ahead of normal this year for tornadoes, but could the year end up being the worst ever?
Severe weather has been a frequent occurrence across the United States this year, with an unusually high number of tornadoes, which has propelled 2024 toward the top of the list of the most active tornado years on record.
“This has been an incredibly active year for tornadoes in the United States,” said AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Expert Paul Pastelok.
As of July 16, there had been 1,412 tornado reports in the United States, well ahead of the 2010-2024 historical average of 997, according to the Storm Prediction Center. In fact, 2024 has already had more tornadoes than the average annual total of 1,402.
Tornado outbreaks at the end of April and the month of May quickly raised 2024 above the historical average. Since then, a steady stream of tornadoes, including dozens during Hurricane Beryl, has increased that number even more. Read More

We speak to the ruling principality, Aphrodite, Ishtar, Diana of the Ephesians, we come against you in the name of Jesus and we cast you down,” Pagani prayed with the crowd.
