Tehran Outraged After Italian Parliament Supports Iranian Opposition Group Seeking ‘Free’ Iran
The Italian Parliament has come out in support of a popular Iranian opposition group seeking a free and democratic Iran, prompting the outrage of Tehran. Iranian opposition MEK (Mujahadin-e Khalq) political leader and President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi was met with cheers from supporters as she attended a Wednesday session of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Italian Parliament dedicated to discussing the latest developments in Iran, including the nationwide uprising.

The session, chaired by Mr. Giangiacomo Calovini, a representative from the Fratelli d’Italia (the Brothers of Italy) ruling party, was followed by her addressing a joint meeting of representatives from the Italian Parliament and Senate, along with members from both chambers of the Italian legislature.

Italian representatives expressed their support for the Iranian people’s uprising, rejected the current dictatorship of the mullahs, and endorsed Rajavi’s “Ten Point Plan,” which aims to ensure Iranians’ freedom of expression and assembly — as well as the right to choose their elected leaders — as part of the path toward a free, secular, and democratic Iran.

Rajavi, in turn, expressed her gratitude for the support from the Italian legislators while urging “the Parliament, the people, and the government of Italy to adopt this rightful and principled policy, which recognizes the Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow the religious dictatorship.”

The declaration of support, of which over 200 representatives and 100 senators (both absolute majorities) are signatories to, is the first instance that majorities in both chambers of the Italian Parliament endorsed a statement supporting the Iranian uprising and the Ten-point Plan.

In response, an enraged Iran rebuked Italy on Friday over its “terror sponsorship” after hosting the opposition leader, something the Iranian Foreign Ministry warned it would “not tolerate in any fashion.”

In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News, NCRI’s Ali Safavi, a member of the NCRI’s Foreign Affairs Committee who serves as president of Near East Policy Research (NEPR), suggested that the “vehement reaction displayed by the Iranian regime must be interpreted in light of the palpable fear festering within the mullahs.”  (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Holy King, we plead the blood of Jesus over every person, nation and leader who is standing in support of freedom and democracy on behalf of the citizens of Iran.  We thank You Father, for leading those who are putting their lives on the line in order to bear the fruit of righteousness instead of tyranny.  We pray for the Spirit of the Living God to wash over the nation of Persia, to encourage, strengthen and fill Your people with authority from on high, in Jesus name.

- "'Behold, this is the joy of His way, And out of the earth others will grow.  Behold, God will not cast away the blameless, Nor will He uphold the evildoers.'"               (Job 8:19-20)

“This is a person that doesn’t care only for himself but cares for the entire world,” Katz said. “Especially for the people in Israel and for the Jews in America.”

The rabbi extended the “blessings from Israel” and wishes for a long, healthy and sweet life to “the president, his family and all his friends.” Some 150 Orthodox Jews looked on at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, in New Jersey, on July 10, as the Israel Heritage Foundation awarded the former president a Keter Yerushalayim (Crown of Jerusalem) award. VICTORY FOR SANITY:
Biological Men BANNED from Competing As Women in Global Cycling – Will Now Compete in New Category

The radical global trans movement was hit with a major loss on Friday.

As ESPN reported, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced that trans women (biological men) will no longer be able to compete in the female category.

The UCI revealed that the trans women will be competing in a new category called men/open. This means they will actually be racing against their own peers while still being allowed to identify as trans. The new rules will go into effect on Monday according to ESPN

The UCI released this statement announcing the new changes:

At an extraordinary meeting held on 5 July, the Management Committee of the UCI decided to adapt the current UCI rules on the right of female transgender athletes to take part in competitions on the UCI International Calendar.

From now on, female transgender athletes who have transitioned after [male] puberty will be prohibited from participating in women’s events on the UCI International Calendar — in all categories — in the various disciplines.

Evacuations Ordered in Pennsylvania
After 40-car Train Derails: Officials
A Norfolk Southern freight train derailment in Pennsylvania has forced the evacuation of the town of Whitemarsh Township, officials said Monday. Officials told local media the derailment took place at around 5 a.m. ET on Monday in the township, which is around a 30 minute drive north of Philadelphia. The train was carrying silicone pellets and other materials, police said.

“As of now, the only thing that is leaking from any of the rail cars involved, is silicone pellets which pose no risk to the community,” said the department in a Facebook post. “We are still gathering information at this time and ask you to follow us here for any important factual updates. We thank all the community partners and resources that are working with us on scene ensuring the safety of our community.”

However, other reports indicated that it was not immediately known what was inside them. Hazmat teams were seen at the site, although it is not clear if any substances were leaking from the cars, reported The Associated Press.

Officials confirmed that businesses and homes were evacuated as a precaution, although there is no known danger to the public. No injuries were reported.

The 40-car CSX train, which was operating on tracks owned by Norfolk Southern, derailed around 4:50 a.m. in Whitemarsh Township. More than a dozen cars appeared to be off the tracks, according to an Associated Press reporter.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro wrote on social media that he’s aware of the crash and will deploy state resources to the area. “My team and I are monitoring the train derailment in Whitemarsh Twp and assisting local first responders. Thank you to the residents taking precautions at the direction of local authorities. I urge you to continue following their instruction,” he wrote on Twitter. (Epoch Times) Read more here.
- We pray over this train derailment. We pray for the facts to be revealed to learn what happened and how to prevent another derailment in the future.

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Doctors plan strike this week in protest of judicial overhaul - Times of Israel

Staff at public hospitals and clinics plan to go on strike this week in protest of the government’s judicial overhaul, the head of the Israeli Medical Association, Prof. Zion Hagay, said on Monday.

Hagay told Channel 12 that the public health union, which represents about 95 percent of physicians in Israel, is prepared to work in “emergency mode” for a few hours this week.

The exact date of the strike has not yet been determined and will depend on the schedule of the legislative process in the Knesset. (Read more)

2. 'Police must prevent protests at train stations - no matter what' - Israel National News

Energy and Infrastructure Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) on Monday morning blasted the protests planned to take place at railway stations.

According to the organizers of the anti-government protests, protesters on Tuesday will arrive to demonstrate on train platforms.

"What this means is a stop to the trains' operations and causing enormous suffering to hundreds of thousands of travelers, including many soldiers," Katz said. (Read more)

3. PM hits back at reservists, says 'military reports to elected government' - Israel Hayom

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a cabinet meeting Monday that threats by IDF reservists to refuse to serve unless the government halted the judicial reform were endangering the security of Israelis.

"In a democracy, the military reports to the elected government and not the other way around. Whereas in a military regime, the government is subordinate to the army and more precisely to a group within the army. This is the fundamental difference between a democracy and a military regime," Netanyahu said.

He stressed that "the incitement to refusal and the refusal itself are against democracy and against the law. This is true for any democracy, but in our democracy, the incitement and refusal directly endanger the security of all Israeli citizens. They harm the deterrence against our enemies who can easily be tempted into acts of aggression against us, and they undermine the discipline within the army, which is the basis of the army's existence in the first place." 4. Four horses killed, farm burns down in suspected northern Israel arson - Jerusalem Post

Four horses were killed and infrastructural damage worth some hundreds of thousands of shekels was caused in a farm that was set on fire on Monday evening in the Kfar Shamai, near Safed, in northern Israel.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene assisted in rescuing nine more horses from the farm and extinguished the fire. Israel Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances behind the incident, which is currently being examined as deliberate arson.

Police chief Kobi Shabtai toured the damaged farm with Regional Council Head Amit Sofer, where Sofer turned to Shabtai and stated, "This is terrorism in every way: including threats of murder, shooting at farmers and business owners, and burning property and animals as we saw last night.

"We demand from you today, Police Commissioner: enough, enough with terror, enough with threats, enough with arson, enough with extortion, enough with the destructive harm to business owners." Sofer further added, "We demand from the government and the ministers to impose sovereignty here in the heart of Galilee, in the heart of the State of Israel." (Read more)

5. Israel recognizes Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara - World Israel News

Israel officially recognized Moroccan sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara region, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in a letter to the kingdom’s ruler, King Mohammed VI, on Monday.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed the report on Twitter. “I welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu’s announcement on the recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Western Sahara,” wrote Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, adding that the step would “strengthen the relations between the countries.”

Jerusalem’s updated position will be “reflected in all relevant acts and documents of the Israeli government,” King Mohammed VI claimed.

Israel also pledged to share its decision with “the United Nations, to regional and international organizations of which Israel is a member and to all countries with which Israel maintains diplomatic relations,” per the monarch. (Read more)

1. After 7 month wait, Biden invites Netanyahu to meet in US in ‘warm’ call with PM - Times of Israel

US President Joe Biden invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to meet him in the US during a Monday phone call, after seven months of refraining from making such an offer due to Washington’s ongoing displeasure with the judicial overhaul and Jerusalem’s policies in the West Bank.

But the Prime Minister’s Office notably did not state that the meeting would take place at the White House, as Netanyahu likely had hoped. Speculation has grown in recent weeks that the two could sit down on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly high-level week in September, when both leaders are expected to be in New York.

The invitation was extended during a “warm and long” phone call, Netanyahu’s office said. It was the first time the two had spoken in four months. The prime minister accepted the invitation and the leaders agreed that their staffs would work to coordinate a date. (Read more)

Abba, we thank you for the friendship between the US and Israel. We pray for solid, honest ties between the nations. We ask that you move in President Biden’s heart to handle the meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu with integrity and honesty. We pray that no harm would happen to the friendship that has been built. We pray for continued partnership from the US with Israel. In the name of Yeshua we pray, amen.

2. Ukraine’s future is in NATO, U.S. national security adviser affirms - POLITICO

Following the announcement, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted that he had come to the summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, hoping NATO would be an organization that “does not hesitate, does not waste time and does not look back at any aggressor … is that too much to expect?”

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian leader walked back his criticism, saying: “I think by the end of summit, we have great unity from our leaders and the security guarantees — that is a success for this summit, I think so.”

On Sunday, Sullivan acknowledged that while the the alliance fully supports Ukraine, there are conditions the country will need to meet before it can officially become a NATO member, including an end to its war with Russia.

Admitting Ukraine while the war is ongoing would require NATO to join in its defense, Sullivan said.

“Having Ukraine come into NATO while the war is going on would mean that NATO was at war with Russia, it would mean the United States was at war with Russia. And neither NATO nor the United States were prepared to do that,” Sullivan said on ABC’s “This Week.” (Read more)

3. US gives ‘green light’ to European countries to train Ukrainians on F-16 fighter jets, Biden official says - CNN

The US will allow European countries to train Ukrainians on F-16 fighter jets, a top Biden administration official confirmed Sunday, a potential boon for Ukraine’s efforts to counter Russia’s air superiority. “The president has given a green light and we will allow, permit, support, facilitate and in fact provide the necessary tools for Ukrainians to begin being trained on F-16s, as soon as the Europeans are prepared,” national security adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”

The decision cements a stark turnaround for President Joe Biden, who said earlier this year that he did not believe that Ukraine needed the F-16s. One of the main issues Kyiv’s ground forces have faced as their counteroffensive gets underway is Russian air power holding them back. Russia still maintains air superiority, which makes it difficult for ground forces to advance.

In May, Biden had informed G7 leaders that the US would support a joint effort with allies and partners to train Ukrainian pilots on fourth generation aircraft, including F-16s, though it was unclear at the time when that training would star.

The US-made jet has air-to-air refueling capabilities and is compatible with most NATO weapons already being supplied to Ukraine. Despite first entering production in the 1980s, it has gone through several upgrades, making it more advanced and versatile that any jet Ukraine currently has in its fleet, and a fierce rival for most Russian aircraft, with the exception of newer models that Moscow has hesitated to deploy in Ukraine.

Sullivan noted Sunday that European allies have said they need several weeks to prepare training abilities and that the US would meet whatever timeline they set out.
“The United States will not be the hold-up in ensuring that this F-16 training can get underway,” he said. (Read more)

- We pray success for this training to teach the Ukrainians how to fly our F-16's.

4. Tunisia and EU sign pact to stem migration - Reuters

TUNIS, July 16 (Reuters) - Tunisia and the European Union signed on Sunday a "strategic partnership" deal that includes combatting human traffickers and tightening borders during a sharp increase in boats leaving the North African nation for Europe.

The deal follow weeks of talks and Europe's pledge of major aid to Tunisia amounting to 1 billion euros ($1.12 billion) to help its battered economy, rescue state finances and deal with a migration crisis. Most funds are contingent on economic reforms.

"It contains agreements on disrupting the business model of people smugglers and human traffickers, strengthening border control and improving registration and return. All essential measures for bolstering efforts to stop irregular migration," Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Twitter.

The European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyens said the bloc will allocate 100 million euros to Tunisia to help it combat illegal migration. The deal promotes macro-economic stability, trade and investment, green energy transition and legal immigration.

Thousands of undocumented African migrants have flocked to the city of Sfax in recent months seeking to head for Europe in traffickers' boats, amounting to an unprecedented migration crisis for Tunisia. (Read more)

5. Iowa Governor Signs ‘Heartbeat Bill’ Banning Abortion After 6 Weeks’ - Daily Signal

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a “heartbeat bill” into law on Friday, banning abortions after six weeks, when a fetal heartbeat can be detected. This makes Iowa the 13th state to have a heartbeat bill protecting the unborn.

“Not only will I continue to fight against the inhumanity of abortion, but I will also remain committed to supporting women in planning for motherhood, promoting fatherhood and parenting, and continuing policies that encourage strong families,” Reynolds said in a statement earlier this month.

Iowa is one of many states that have passed legislation to protect unborn lives since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022 with the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision.

The heartbeat bill passed 56-34 in the Iowa House in a special session that Reynolds called on Tuesday. Every Democrat and two Republicans voted against it, and 10 representatives were absent. The state Senate voted 32-17 shortly after, with only one Republican voting no.

The fetal heartbeat law prohibits abortions once fetal cardiac activity is detected, with few exceptions.  Those exceptions include pregnancies resulting from rape and incest. The law also exempts women who suffer a miscarriage, fetuses who have conditions physicians conclude are incompatible with life, and medical emergencies.

Reynolds called the special session for the sole purpose of passing the legislation after the state’s Supreme Court made no progress on determining whether or not a lower court’s injunction of a six-week abortion ban was legal. (Read more)

6. Ex-Secret Service Agent Getting Texts from Former Colleagues: 'They Know Exactly' Who Brought Cocaine to WH - The Western Journal

This whitewash isn’t going to make the scandal go away.

The Great White House Cocaine Mystery of 2023 might have been publicly dismissed by the Secret Service, but former Secret Service agent Don Bongino isn’t letting it die easily.

And neither are some of the former agents he served with.

In an interview posted to Twitter on Sunday by The Daily Signal reporter Mary Margaret Olohan, Bongino said his social network of fellow agents had been texting and emailing him since the bombshell discovery of cocaine in the White House on July 2 began making headlines around the world.

“They are absolutely furious about this,” he said. “I got 50 emails, communications, texts from people. ‘This is embarrassing. Humiliating … They know exactly who it was.'”

In other words, neither Bongino nor his fellow former Secret Service agents are buying the official Secret Service conclusion last week that the question of who brought cocaine into the West Wing of the White House in the lead-up to the Fourth of July holiday will never be answered. (Read more)

7. Trump special counsel seeks protective order to prevent trial delay - Just the News

Special counsel Jack Smith seeks a protective order related to classified materials to prevent former President Donald Trump's legal team from further delaying the proceedings. The Department of Justice has sought to limit Trump's access to certain classified materials related to the case, but claims in a Monday filing that his legal team had not engaged with them for several days to negotiate a solution, the Washington Examiner reported.

Under the DOJ proposal "[t]he defense may not disclose classified information to the Defendants unless that same information has been previously disclosed to the defense by the Defendants or provided by the government with markings indicating it may be disclosed to the Defendants."

The request will be heard at a Tuesday hearing and will be a critical moment in advancing the case, as Trump's attorneys must obtain security clearance to review the materials in question. The case pertains to the FBI's seizure of materials from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in August of last year. Smith has charged the former president with 37 counts related to his alleged mishandling of sensitive materials. He has pleaded not guilty.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon tentatively set the trial date for Aug. 14, 2023, though Smith has requested it be delayed until December. (Read more)

 8. US Southwest swelters under dangerous heat wave, with new records on track - AP

PHOENIX (AP) — A dangerous heat wave threatened a wide swath of the Southwest with potentially deadly temperatures in the triple digits on Saturday as some cooling centers extended their hours and emergency rooms prepared to treat more people with heat-related illnesses.

“Near record temperatures are expected this weekend!” the National Weather Service in Phoenix warned in a tweet, advising people to follow its safety tips such as drinking plenty of water and checking on relatives and neighbors.

“Don’t be a statistic!” the weather service in Tucson advised, noting extreme heat can be deadly. “It CAN happen to YOU!”

Over 110 million people, or about a third of Americans, were under extreme heat advisories, watches and warnings Saturday as the blistering heat wave was forecast to get worse this weekend for Nevada, Arizona and California. Temperatures in some desert areas were predicted to soar past 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48.8 degrees Celsius) during the day, and remain in the 90s F (above 32.2 C) overnight.

Around 200 hydration stations distributing bottles of water and cooling centers where potentially thousands of people can rest in air-conditioned spaces opened Saturday in public spaces like libraries, churches and businesses around the Phoenix area. (Read more)

9. Firefighters battle California wildfires amid blistering heatwave - The Guardian

Firefighters in southern California were battling three separate brush fires that started on Friday afternoon amid a blistering heatwave. The fires were all within 40 miles (65km) of each other in mostly rural areas across Riverside county, south-east of Los Angeles.

The largest of them is the Rabbit fire which has burned 4,500 acres and is only 5% contained, according to the California department of forestry and fire protection, known as CalFire. The Reche and Highland fires were less destructive, burning 437 and 105 acres respectively, but still prompted evacuation warnings as they threatened structures.

Nearly 1,000 homes were under evacuation orders, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or property loss, according to CalFire.

The Reche and Highland fires had stopped spreading by the evening. The Rabbit fire, though, grew at a “rapid rate” to more than 2 sq miles (5 sq km) in a matter of hours, Cal Fire said in a social media post.

About 280 firefighters were dispatched.

The wildfires broke out as California is facing a powerful heat dome, a warm air mass centered over the state that is trapping heat near the surface. The National Weather Service has warned residents to prepare for the hottest weather of the year as some areas could see temperatures as high as 120F (48.8C). Palm Springs is expected to reach 120F, Redding could rise to 113F (45C) and Fresno in California’s Central Valley is projected to peak at 109F (42.7C).

“We’ve been talking about this building heatwave for a week now, and now the most intense period is beginning,” the National Weather Service wrote on Friday. (Read more)

- Lord God, whether we are now enduring fires, torrential rains, huge flash flooding, or heat waves and fires . . .  nevertheless, we turn to You, that You might show us Your sustaining grace in these disasters. The Daily Jot

Of Stone And Heart

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 17, 2023

Nomocracy is government based on the rule of law. Rule of law is defined by Britannica as “the mechanism, process, institution, practice or norm that supports the equality of all citizens before the law, secures a nonarbitrary form of government and more generally prevents arbitrary use of power.” This concept of government is designed to prevent, the arbitrariness if you will, of despotic governments or power structures such as kings, committees or parties acting without constraint of the law. The US Constitution in Article IV, Section 4 guarantees a Republican form of government where the people elect representatives to govern them under the rule of law. Why is this so important to Christians?

I would wager that many never heard of or used the term “nomocracy” to describe a government. We in America believe we initiated the idea of representative government based on the rule of law. It is the ultimate Lockean principle of government postulated by John Locke in his 1690 Second Treatise of Government. Locke wrote: “The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but to have only the law of nature for his rule.” The words “Law of Nature and of Nature’s God” are found in the US Declaration of Independence underscoring that the Republic was founded on a universal moral law serving as the legal basis for self-government. It is a form of nomocracy, which is the law given by God Almighty to Moses on Mt. Sinai and was accepted by the people. Read More

EU politician condemns World Health Organization treaty for bypassing the ‘rule of the people’

BRUSSELS, Belgium (LifeSiteNews) — A German member of the European parliament warned EU citizens that they soon “will no longer have any political influence over who [they] entrust with the administration of [their] fundamental rights” after treaty changes made by the WHO with its member states.

MEP Christine Anderson released a video in April with a warning that the WHO was attempting to illegitimately seize de-facto governmental power through the creation of an intergovernmental negotiating body (INB) made up of non-democratically elected members.

“I asked the Commission to what extent it would ensure that the principles of the people’ s rule would be respected and that citizens would not be subjected to the arbitrariness of an unelected entity,” Anderson said in a new video she posted May 8 on her YouTube channel.

“The answer I received to my question a few hours ago is clear and brief: not at all!”

In a press release dated December 21, 2021, the WHO announced that “the World Health Assembly agreed to kick-start a global process to … establish an intergovernmental negotiating body (INB) to draft and negotiate a WHO convention, agreement, or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.”

The same was also announced on the website of the EU council, which stated that the INB “will hold its next meeting by 1 August 2022 to discuss progress on a working draft [and] will then deliver a progress report to the 76th World Health Assembly in 2023, with the aim to adopt the instrument by 2024.”

“With this, the rule of the people, the basic principle of any democracy, has been finally laid to rest,” Anderson said.

The German MEP explained that the composition of the WHO is “not based on democratic elections” and that, therefore, “the decision-makers sitting there can issue instructions to you but are not accountable to you and cannot be held politically responsible by you.”

“You, as a citizen, will therefore no longer have any political influence over whom you entrust with the administration (or lately, withdrawal rather) of your fundamental rights,” Anderson explained. (Read more)

Big Pharma ‘Bankrolled’ Biden’s NIH Director Nominee, Watchdog Group Says

President Joe Biden‘s nominee to lead the National Institute of Health allegedly received millions of dollars in research-related funds from big pharmaceutical companies while opposing Trump-era drug costs, according to a watchdog group.

The American Accountability Foundation, a conservative opposition research group founded in 2020, published a new report observed by The New York Post that said NIH Biden-nominee Dr. Monica Bertagnolli has “problematic close ties with big pharma” with the nation’s primary agency responsible for biomedical and public health research

Big Pharma bankrolled her career, and she has long been a friend and ally to them,” the group told The Post in a statement. “Especially after the corruption and lies that came from the government’s medical agencies during COVID, the American people need to know that NIH will be led by honest people who serve them, and are not owned by massive corporations.”

“Our government’s medical institutions must serve the interests of the American people, not Big Pharma,” the group said. “However, Dr. Bertagnolli’s extensive financial ties to pharmaceutical companies raise serious questions about her ability to lead NIH in a manner that is not beholden to special or secret interests.”

Bertagnolli, 64, received more than $350 million in research-related funds from pharmaceutical giants, including at least $56 million from Pfizer, Seagan Inc., and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in 2022, according to data.

If confirmed by the Senate, Bertagnolli would become the institute’s first surgeon to serve as director.

The American College of Surgeons reported the issues expected to be discussed during Dr. Bertagnolli’s Senate confirmation hearings include lowering prescription drug pricing and the agency’s COVID-19 response. (Read more here)

- Father, we pray for the Senate to be bold and courageous in pointing out the very biased affiliations this woman would bring to the NIH, a position that demands fairness and balance on behalf of all people. We bring her nomination before Your throne, Just Judge, and ask that You would place her where she can find her way to repentance and salvation.  We pray for You to restrain her and the "pharma giants" so that they do no further harm to the well-being of our citizens, in Jesus name.

Jan. 6 defendant appeals to Supreme Court in case that could upend hundreds of riot charges

The charge "is nothing less than the weaponization of the penal code to stifle dissent; it sets a terrifying precedent unworthy of this nation's history," Lang's attorneys wrote.

Jan. 6 defendant Edward Jacob Lang is asking the Supreme Court to hear his challenge against one of the 11 charges he was indicted on – obstruction of an official proceeding – in a case that could upend legal proceedings against hundreds of other defendants indicted on charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

The obstruction charge could be levied against "anyone who attends at a public demonstration gone awry," attorneys for Lang wrote in an appeal to the Supreme Court last week. The proceeding for which the charge was brought refers to the event where Congress certifies the Electoral College votes to confirm the president.

The charge "is nothing less than the weaponization of the penal code to stifle dissent; it sets a terrifying precedent unworthy of this nation's history," Lang's attorneys also wrote.

Lang had filed a motion to dismiss the obstruction charge, which carries a 20-year sentence, before his trial, and the D.C. District court granted this motion. However, an appeals court reversed the lower court's decision and a motion for a rehearing was denied.

Lang's attorney Norman Pattis told Newsweek that he thinks the Supreme Court could upend the cases of "hundreds of defendants."

"The government misuse and abuse of the federal penal code in the [January 6] cases is shocking," Pattis also said. His client expects to hear this fall whether the Supreme Court will take up the case.

Lang has been incarcerated for more than 900 days without a trial. He told The Epoch Times that he thinks his appeal could impact the Justice Department's separate effort to potentially charge former President Donald Trump with obstruction.

"I think the timing of this filing is astronomical," Lang said. "Donald Trump is the political frontrunner for the Republican Party, and while the other bogus charges might easily go away through a plea deal, the obstruction of Congress charge carries prison time. This one would land him in serious hot water with a conviction." (Just the News) Read more here.

- Holy King, we call the Supreme Court to be filled with honor and dignity to do the right thing and judge righteously in this matter.  May they absolutely hear this case and be unable to refuse their responsibility to this nation and its people, because according to Luke 18:7, "God shall avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him on behalf of those unjustly accused and incarcerated," in Jesus mighty name.  We call the Supreme Court to account on behalf of our Constitution, which is their responsibility to uphold, and we cry out for Throne room Justice to be released upon this case, our people and nation, without delay or duress, for the glory of God.  Amen.

- " . . . and said to the judges, 'Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.'"  (2 Chronicles 19:6-7)

And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!
"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

(Isaiah 42:13)

5 people were killed by raging floodwaters in
southeastern Pennsylvania. 2 children are still missing
Authorities in southeastern Pennsylvania are searching for a 2-year-old girl and her 9-month-old brother who vanished in raging floodwaters as a violent storm slammed the region.

The children and their family, who were visiting from Charleston, South Carolina, were driving to a barbecue when they got stuck in flash flooding, Upper Makefield Fire Chief Tim Brewer said Sunday afternoon. Their father and young sibling “miraculously” made it to safety, he said.

Mud and floodwaters block a street in Barre, Vermont. Still reeling from catastrophic flooding that left at least 1 dead, Vermont braces for another round of rain. The children’s mother was found dead, Brewer said. Four other people were also killed by the flooding in Bucks County, authorities have said.

“With the five deaths due to the flood waters, mass casualty incidents like these, which we have never seen before, (are) unbelievably devastating to all the families involved,” Brewer said. “We are all grieving.”

“However, our commitment to finding the two children will still be unwavering,” he added. The children’s grandmother survived and was treated at a local hospital, Upper Makefield Township police said. Read More

'Should Every Church Do This? Yes':

Ohio Church Seeks to Close Gap in Foster Care Ministries
Research shows church involvement with adoption and foster care ministries has dropped substantially in the last five years. But not all is lost. One Ohio church is making its primary goal to care for the orphaned, and sharing their success as an encouragement to all churches. America ranks third in the world for having the most orphaned children, according to World Population Review. Almost 400,000 of them live in foster care – and less than half are adopted each year. In the small town of Kinsman, Ohio a local church is hoping to change that by sharing hope by loving one child at a time.  "I was just alarmed that 140 (foster) kids were in our backyard and literally 10 minutes from my house is Trumbull County Children Services," said Jordan Biel, lead pastor at Rock of Grace Church. Four years ago, Pastor Jordan Biel discovered that in his county, 140 children living in group facilities needed foster families. Today, it has become a vision for the congregation to transform Trumbull County by partnering with the county's children's services to find a loving family for orphan children.

The initiative is called #everychild. Over the past four years, 40 children have come into care via families at Rock of Grace, including five adoptions. "I did not know it was going to take off like that, to be honest," Biel said. Church members Melissa and Jason Crisp have been married for 24 years and have four biological children. Still, they've fostered nine more children in the last year and a half.  "You're being a positive part of their life and you hope it lasts their whole life," Jason said. While it's rewarding, Melissa says the hardest part is falling in love with a foster child, only to hand them over to a responsible family member who comes forward. Their desire is to one day adopt. Meanwhile, the process nurtures their faith as they learn to trust God's timing. "I've had to learn how to really trust God with kids' lives that I love, that I have no control over anymore – and that's a lot," Melissa said.  "The #everychild campaign is just one example of how churches can make a difference in the lives of children in need. By providing support and care, churches can help these children thrive and reach their full potential. (CBN) Read More and Watch Video
- Abba, we lift praise for Your call upon believers to care for orphans. Bring an awakening to the church and unify us across our nation to hear specific assignments in protection of the young. Use the Ecclesia to minister to orphans and children in need throughout America and around the globe. May fostered children grow to know the love of Christ, that they may give testimony of surrendered lives to Yeshua through unconditional love and care expressed for them through God's people- In the mighty name of Jesus Christ-Amen.

Scripture: Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name. Psalm 29:2

Lyrics:
Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!

Refrain
Glory to His name, glory to His name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His name!

Refrain

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to His name!

Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His name!

Refrain
