MILWAUKEE - With an eye toward the future of a Republican Party dominated by former President Trump and his legions of MAGA supporters, Trump has named 39-year-old Sen. JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate on the GOP'S 2024 national ticket.
The former president, who made his greatly anticipated and high-stakes announcement on Monday as the Republican National Convention kicked off in swing-state Wisconsin's largest city, will now share the ticket with one of his top supporters in the Senate and a one-time Trump critic who has transformed into a leading America First disciple.
"After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio," Trump announced on his Truth Social platform.
Trump emphasized that Vance, on the campaign trail "will be strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for, the American Workers and Farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond…."
While Vance hails from Ohio, a one-time battleground state the former president comfortably carried in the 2016 and 2020 elections, the senator's selection is expected to boost Trump among working-class Democrats, especially across the Rust Belt, who otherwise might have been supporters of President Biden, according to multiple experts who spoke with Fox News Digital as Trump was weighing his options.
Vance grew up in a working-class family in a small city in southwestern Ohio. His parents divorced when he was young, and as his mother struggled for years with drug and alcohol abuse, Vance was raised in part by his maternal grandparents.
After high school graduation, Vance enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Iraq War. He later graduated from Ohio State University and then earned a law degree at Yale University. (Fox News) To read more about Senator Vance's

Dear Ones,
Yesterday, there was an assassination attempt against former President and current presidential candidate Donald J. Trump. There is never a place for violence against people of either party who are running for office. We need to believe that civility on both sides will be the rule of the day!
Details are still coming in, and there is, of course, an ongoing investigation that will take many weeks, even months, to complete. We want to share what we know so far so that we can cover our nation in prayer right away.

We are living in a time of extreme polarization of political parties and ideologies. But things have now gone too far. May this be a moment when we stop and reflect on what truly matters
As Melania Trump said today, "I commend those of you who have reached out beyond the political divide (italics mine)—thank you for remembering that every single politician is a man or a woman with a loving family.” Every single one of us is precious to God.
One only has to watch the events that transpired to know that is true! It has been reported that as many as eight bullets were shot at him. A last-second moving of his head saved him. We know that God orchestrated that motion.
Both myself, many in the prayer networks, and other prophets, have been warning of assassination attempts in this election cycle. We have prayed and are very thankful that this attempt against Donald Trump was not successful! As he himself said, “It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening!” Stop a moment and thank God for sparing his life.

Trump Says God ‘Prevented the Unthinkable’ During Assassination Attempt
|

Former President Donald Trump said he believes God shielded him from assassination during a rally in Pennsylvania, in a sentiment echoed by several prominent Republicans.
“It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” the former president wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday. “We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness.”
Later in the post, former President Trump expressed love for the families of the other shooting victims, including a firefighter who died and two others who were injured.
“In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win,” he wrote in his post.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a top potential vice presidential pick for former President Trump, wrote on X that “God protected President Trump,” including an image of the former president with blood streaked across his face and his fist in the air.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) wrote that it was God who “protected President Trump yesterday,” while he also told NBC News that he hopes politicians can tone down the political rhetoric following the assassination attempt.
“Yesterday there were miracles, and I think the hand of God was there too,” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) told Fox News on Sunday, noting that he himself was shot and wounded during a congressional baseball team event in 2017. “You can just see one centimeter over and we’re having a very different conversation,” he wrote.
Video of the incident shows the former president speaking at the rally and then turning his head slightly before he was struck in the right ear. Some Republicans, including Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, noted that the slight turning of his head may have saved his life and suggested divine intervention is at play.
“By the slightest turn of your head in a mere microsecond or the shield of a teleprompter,” Mr. Patrick wrote, speaking to the former president in a social media post, “your life was spared by the Grace of a Merciful and Holy God.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here

Who was Thomas Matthew Crooks? What we know about Trump’s attempted assassin

The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old man from western Pennsylvania, as the person who attempted to assassinate former President Trump at a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
Crooks reportedly shot Trump from a rooftop perch some 130 yards away during a rally in the small town, striking the upper part of Trump’s right ear while the former president was speaking to rallygoers ahead of next week’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
One attendee, Corey Comperatore, 50, a former fire chief of Buffalo Township, was killed, and two others – identified by Pennsylvania State Police as David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74 – were injured during the incident.
The FBI said it will continue its investigation into Crooks and any other information it can obtain.
"This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is encouraged to submit photos or videos online at FBI.gov/butler or call 1-800-CALL-FBI," the statement continued. (Fox News) Read more here.

Republican convention gets underway two days after Trump survived an assassination attempt
|

MILWAUKEE – The Republican National Convention kicks off on Monday, just two days after former President Donald Trump, the GOP's standard-bearer, survived an assassination attempt.
And the Saturday shooting at Trump's rally in western Pennsylvania - where one spectator was killed and two more critically injured, and the former president visibly bloodied after a bullet grazed his ear - has altered the tone and raised the stakes of the convention.
U.S. Secret Service and other officials announced on the eve of the convention that there are no plans to expand the security perimeter and that there are no known threats.
"The arena's set, the security is here and we feel very comfortable that we're working with the Secret Service," Republican National Committee chair Michael Whatley said in an interview on "Fox News Sunday."
Whatley emphasized that "this is going to be a facility where we're going to be able to have 50,000 delegates and alternates and guests and members of the media who are going to be here and who are going to be safe. That's very critical for us."
The first order of business, as roughly 2,400 Republican delegates from across the country gather at the Fiserv Fourm in downtown Milwaukee, will be officially nominating Trump during a roll call of the states during Monday afternoon's session.

Egyptian officials announced on Saturday night that negotiations are stalled and questioned Israel’s intent to come to an agreement.
Egyptian officials told Reuters that Israeli mediators showed “internal discord” and they complained of “contradictions, delays in responses, and the introduction of new terms contrary to what was previously agreed,” blaming the Israeli side.

2. Hezbollah responds: 20 rockets fired towards Kiryat Shmona and the area - Israel National News
A barrage of 20 rockets was fired on Monday evening by Hezbollah from Lebanon towards Kiryat Shmona and the surrounding area.
Most of the rockets were intercepted and no injuries were reported.
The barrage follows an attack by an Israeli aircraft on a car in Syrian territory, near the Lebanese border, on Monday afternoon.
According to reports in Syria, the attack targeted and eliminated businessman Muhammad Bara'a al-Katarji, who is close to the Assad regime and a commander in Hezbollah. The businessman who was eliminated served as a money changer who helped finance Hezbollah and other organizations in the region. (Read more)

3. Northern Israeli Evacuees Urge ‘No Compromises’ with Hezbollah - Jewish Press
Marking nine months away from their homes, evacuated residents of Israel’s northern border communities trekked to the abandoned town of Shlomi to call on the government to make no compromises with Hezbollah.
Residents led a small delegation of Knesset members and reporters on a tour of the town as they argued for the government to save the north and called for funding to rebuild and fortify their communities.
“In terms of security, it can no longer stay the same way,” said Matan Davidian, a resident of Shlomi and an activist leading a civil movement “Fighting for the North” which organized the tour.
“Between 20-30 percent of the evacuated residents already state that they are not interested to go back home because of the security threat, and if the Hezbollah fighters remain on the other side of the fence due to some political settlement, even more than that will leave the area,” Davidian warned. 5. EU set to target Jewish settlers with fresh sanctions - Israel Hayom
An EU official told Israel Hayom Monday that the European Union is preparing to levy additional sanctions against Israeli settlers. The list is expected to include five individuals and three entities linked to settlements, among them prominent and recognizable activists.
According to the official, the sanctions will target those labeled by the EU as "extremist settlers" and "violent activists" deemed responsible for human rights violations against Palestinians. Among those facing sanctions are Moshe Sharvit and his Jordan Valley estate known as "Moshe's Farm," over his alleged involvement in violence against Palestinians. Similarly, Zvi Bar Yosef and his "Zvi's Farm" are slated for sanctions due to alleged links to violence against Palestinians.
The Tzav 9 organization is also targeted for sanctions. Since the outbreak of the war, this group has been obstructing aid trucks destined for Gaza, arguing that allowing food and medicine into the enclave aids Hamas and hinders efforts to defeat the terror group. Well-known right-wing figures are also on the list, including Baruch Marzel, Bentzi Gopstein (who heads the Lehava organization that opposes intermarriage), and Yishai Meir from Hebron. The EU's sanctions package includes freezing assets of the listed individuals and entities, halting any direct or indirect financial dealings with them, and banning these individuals from entering EU territories. 3. QUESTIONABLE: FBI Unable to Access Shooter’s Phone Amid Doubts - Truenews
The FBI has announced that the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, acted alone in the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

4. 'An extremely aggressive inferno’: Fire menaces eastern Canadian community - Reuters
ORONTO, July 13 (Reuters) - A fairly controlled fire grew to a 10,000-hectare inferno over the course of a day, causing 9,600 residents of an eastern Canadian community to flee and putting a nearby community on evacuation alert.
The fire northwest of Labrador City, in western Newfoundland and Labrador, was “deemed fully under control” as recently as Tuesday, Premier Andrew Furey told reporters Saturday. Perfect fire conditions on Friday changed that.
The fire grew from 600 hectares to 10,000, moving 21 kilometres in four hours, he said.
It became “an extremely aggressive inferno,” he said, that forced the evacuation of Labrador City. The fire was about six kilometres from town Saturday midday. Nearby Wabush was on evacuation alert Saturday.
Waterbombers were attacking the fire and the province had requested assistance from other provinces and the federal government. (Read more)

The rooftop where a gunman shot at former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally was identified by the Secret Service as a potential vulnerability in the days before the event, two sources familiar with the agency’s operations told NBC News.
The building, owned by a glass research company, is adjacent to the Butler Farm Show, an outdoor venue in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Secret Service was aware of the risks associated with it, the sources said.
“Someone should have been on the roof or securing the building so no one could get on the roof,” said one of the sources, a former senior Secret Service agent who was familiar with the planning.
Understanding how the gunman got onto the roof — despite those concerns — is a central question for investigators scrutinizing how a lone attacker managed to shoot at Trump during Saturday’s campaign event.
The Secret Service worked with local law enforcement to maintain event security, including sniper teams poised on rooftops to identify and eliminate threats, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. But no officers were posted on the building used by the would-be assassin, outside the event’s security perimeter but only about 148 yards from the stage — within range of a semiautomatic rifle like the one the gunman was carrying. Former President Donald Trump credited an immigration chart he was looking at for saving his life during Saturday’s assassination attempt, his former White House doctor told The New York Times Sunday.
Trump told Texas GOP Rep. and former White House doctor Ronny Jackson that if he had not turned his head slightly to look over and point at a chart featuring statistics on illegal immigration into the U.S., the bullet that grazed his ear would’ve hit his head more directly and killed him, according to the NYT. The reflection comes after a would-be assassin climbed atop a nearby roof and fired multiple rounds at the president during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, before being neutralized by U.S. Secret Service agents.
“He goes, ‘The border patrol saved my life,'” Jackson recounted the president saying in an interview with the NYT. “‘I was going over that border patrol chart.’ He said, ‘If I hadn’t pointed at that chart and turned my head to look at it, that bullet would have hit me right in the head.'” (Read more)

The Mystery Of The Red Heifer

Much is written about the red heifer and the end times. In short, commentators say the Temple instruments must be purified by a solution containing the ashes of a completely red heifer. In Matthew 24, Christ says that when the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel occurs, there “shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time (v 21).” For this abomination to occur, there must be daily sacrifice in the Temple, and therefore, there must be a Temple, making commentators believe the red heifer is a clear sign of the end times. Many are aware of this ritual of the red heifer, but do they know the mystery of its significance?
Numbers 19 begins with the law of the red heifer, one of the most difficult to comprehend in the Torah. Tradition calls it “hok,” a statute that seems to have no reason, at least one that’s humanly understandable. The ritual law of the Red Heifer is for purification from coming in contact with a dead person. The priest sacrifices the heifer without blemish (no other colored hairs but red) outside the camp, throws hyssop, cedar wood, and a scarlet thread onto the heifer as it is completely burned up. The ashes are mixed with pure living water, and sprinkled using a hyssop branch on the third and seventh day on the one who has come into contact with a corpse. Called the “water of separation,” the person then washes in the mikveh and will be clean the following evening. Read More

Chair of House Intelligence Committee calls Trump rally shooting ‘security failure’

Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, called the shooting at former President Trump’s Pennsylvania rally a “security failure.”
“How is it that someone could get on a roof with a superior position, with a weapon, and attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump?” Turner said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “It’s just unthinkable, unfathomable.”
Members of Congress are already beginning to arrange for probes into the security at the Trump rally. The House Oversight Committee, led by Chair James Comer (R-Ky.), has called Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to testify in front of the committee on Monday. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) has promised a congressional investigation into the incident.
“We do have an extreme role,” Turner said of Congress’s ability to investigate. “Both the resources that are utilized and the protocols that are utilized, we have oversight, scrutiny, and responsibility for.”

Federal Judge Dismisses Trump Classified Documents Case

The federal judge handling the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump in Florida has thrown out the case citing concerns over the appointment of the special prosecutor.
The case was once seen as the most significant legal threat against Trump, but U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon granted the defense motion to dismiss it on Monday.
Trump's attorneys had argued that special counsel Jack Smith was illicitly appointed and that his office was improperly funded by the Justice Department.
Judge Canon agreed, writing in her ruling that it's up to the legislative branch to appoint officers such as special prosecutors.
"The bottom line is this: The Appointments Clause is a critical constitutional restriction stemming from the separation of powers, and it gives to Congress a considered role in determining the propriety of vesting appointment power for inferior officers," Judge Canon wrote. "The Special Counsel's position effectively usurps that important legislative authority, transferring it to a Head of Department, and in the process threatening the structural liberty inherent in the separation of powers." - Holy One, we rejoice to see a judge in the current judicial system, acting with integrity and upholding the established law with honor. It has become a sad state of affairs in this nation that many judges are acting as sources of power rather than wellsprings of justice and truth. We pray for the safety of this judge and ask that You bless her for standing against the tide that has certainly been blowing against her. We are encouraged to know that our justice system has standards that will uphold the rule of law in this nation, in Jesus name.

The effort to replace President Biden as the Democratic Party's 2024 nominee has lost all momentum and is essentially "over" following the assassination attempt against former President Trump, allies of the president say, according to a new report.
A steady stream of Democratic lawmakers and top donors had called on Biden to drop out of the race throughout last week and the weekend. Allies of Biden now say Trump's attempted slaying has taken the wind from the sails of Biden's critics.
"I think it’s over," one ally to the president told NBC News. "You just lose all momentum."

Ancient temple and theater 3,500 years older than Machu Picchu discovered in Peru

Archaeologists in Peru have unearthed the remains of what they believe are a 4,000-year-old temple and theater, shining a new light on the origins of complex religions in the region.
The team began studying the new archaeological site of La Otra Banda, Cerro Las Animas, in June. Last year, the local government alerted them to looting that had been taking place near the northern Peruvian town of Zaña, according to a press release from the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois, Wednesday.
They excavated a plot roughly 33 feet long and 33 feet wide, finding signs of ancient walls made of mud and clay at just six feet deep.
“It was so surprising that these very ancient structures were so close to the modern surface,” Luis Muro Ynoñán, a research scientist at the Field Museum who led the team, said in the release.
After digging deeper, archaeologists found “one section” of a large temple, Muro Ynoñán said, adding that “one of the most exciting” finds was a small theater “with a backstage area and a staircase that led to a stage-like platform.”

As reported by Fox News, Cameron called the book a “guidebook for America’s spiritual comeback — a practical and inspiring look at how we can change our culture. Certainly, there’s concern about politics and crime and the economy, but I’m finding California refugees all over Tennessee and Texas and Florida — there’s been a flood of talent and creatives who have left California, frustrated that their values haven’t been reflected in the projects they’re working on,” Cameron told “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Saturday, July 6.
The “Growing Pains” actor elaborated further on the book in a text message to Fox News Digital on Sunday afternoon. “Dark and evil forces have devastated American culture, and the family of faith is feeling intimidated and fearful.
