Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden is still the president of the United States and makes decisions
|

The White House was pressed Tuesday about whom the Pentagon would contact if a nuclear missile were fired toward the U.S. after 8 p.m., which is when President Biden has said he needs to call it a day.
Last week, Biden told Democratic governors during a private meeting at the White House that he would stop scheduling events after 8 p.m. so he can get more sleep, according to a report by The New York Times.
At a press briefing Tuesday, Fox News’ Peter Doocy pressed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the president’s mental health and being at his sharpest before 8 p.m.
"Well, he also says he’s sharpest before 8 p.m. So, say that the Pentagon at some point picks up an incoming nuke. It’s 11 p.m. Who do you call? The first lady?" Doocy asked.
Doocy asked Jean-Pierre if Jill Biden was making decisions or advising the president while attending the meetings.
"No, the president is the president of the United States. He makes decisions," Jean-Pierre said.
The questioning came after Doocy asked Jean-Pierre if the president was committed to serving a full second term if elected. The press secretary answered, "Yes." (Fox News) Read more here.

Biden Kicks Off NATO Summit With Focus on Ukraine
|
|
WASHINGTON—President Joe Biden opened the annual North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit in Washington on July 9, addressing leaders of the world’s “greatest military alliance” amid rising global geopolitical tensions.
“NATO is stronger than it’s ever been in its history,” President Biden said in his remarks, which centered on Russia’s war in Ukraine.
At the top of this year’s agenda is Russia’s continuing war in Ukraine, where NATO members have poured billions of dollars worth of humanitarian and military assistance into the country’s war effort.

During his speech, President Biden announced additional aid to the war-torn country.
“Today, I’m announcing the historic donation of air defense equipment for Ukraine. The United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and Italy will provide Ukraine with equipment for five additional strategic air defense systems,” the president said.
President Biden also announced that the United States and its allies will provide Ukraine with “dozens of additional tactical air defense systems” to bolster the country’s defenses in its war against Russia in the coming months.
The president reiterated his commitment to European peace while warning Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia, not Ukraine, will lose the war.

Haley Releases Delegates, Urges Them to Back Trump Ahead of RNC Convention
|
|
Former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley announced on July 9 that she is releasing her 97 delegates and urging them to support former President Donald Trump.
The move comes days before the Republican National Convention when the 45th president is set to be nominated as the party’s 2024 presidential candidate.
“The nominating convention is a time for Republican unity,” said Ms. Haley in a statement.
“We need a president who will hold our enemies to account, secure our border, cut our debt, and get our economy back on track,” said the former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
Ms. Haley went on to call on her delegates to back former President Trump at the Republican National Convention, which will be held July 15–18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Politico first reported the news. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

1. IDF Distributes Leaflets Warning Gazans to Leave Gaza City - Jewish Press
The Israel Defense Forces has warned residents of Gaza City — who number about 200,000 at this point — to evacuate the city ahead of planned combat in the area.
The residents were urged to move to the humanitarian safe zone in Deir el-Balah, in the southern part of the enclave.
On Tuesday, the IDF announced its forces had located and destroyed six long tunnels in the Shejai’ya section of Gaza City, about six kilometers (3.7 miles) long. While searching the subterranean passages, the forces found a branched tunnel system in which there were terrorists’ hideouts, along with control and command centers, as well as weapons and intelligence documents.
“As part of the precautionary measures taken to minimize the risk posed to civilians in active combat areas, the IDF called on the civilian population in specific areas to move towards the humanitarian area,” the IDF said Wednesday in a statement. (Read more)

2. IDF demolishes 6 tunnels in Shejaiya, including Islamic Jihad’s ‘flagship’ Gaza City passageway - Times of Israel
Israeli troops operating in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood have demolished six Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad tunnels amid the latest operation there, launched less than two weeks ago, according to the IDF.
At least three more tunnels have been located and are in the process of being mapped out and demolished.
One of the destroyed tunnels is considered by the IDF to be Islamic Jihad’s “flagship” tunnel in Gaza City. The recently discovered 2.5-kilometer (1.5-mile) tunnel was used by the terror group for command and control, according to military assessments. Troops found laptops, weaponry, and intelligence material inside, indicating it was still being used by the terror group recently. (Read more)

Terrorists threw three firebombs on Wednesday evening towards the vehicle of a woman who was driving with her seven children near the community of Ateret, located in the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council.
"My wife and seven children were returning home this evening at 6:30 p.m., when, during the trip as they passed Ateret and before Bir Zeit, suddenly they saw a fire on the road, the fire of an arson that we have seen regularly on the roads," the woman’s husband told Arutz Sheva-Israel National News. 4. US agencies warn of Iranian efforts to fuel Gaza protests - Israel Hayom
Iran is secretly trying to fuel protests in the United States related to the Gaza conflict, according to Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Avril Haines. In a statement released Tuesday, Haines revealed that Iranian operatives are posing as activists online and, in some instances, offering financial support to protesters.
"I want to be clear that I know Americans who participate in protests are, in good faith, expressing their views on the conflict in Gaza – this intelligence does not indicate otherwise," Haines said, as reported by CNN.She emphasized that many Americans targeted by this Iranian campaign may be unaware they are interacting with or receiving support from a foreign government.
The DNI urged vigilance, particularly when engaging online with unfamiliar accounts or actors. This warning comes as protests over the Gaza conflict continue to spread across the United States, with college campuses becoming hotbeds of demonstration. (Read more)

5. Justice and finance ministers refuse to fund legal defense for Hamas terrorists- Times of Israel
Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have both blasted the Israel Courts Administration over its request for funding for legal representation for captured combatants suspected of carrying out the October 7 atrocities in southern Israel.
Their comments came after it emerged that courts dealing with Palestinian detainees captured during the ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza ruled that the prisoners needed legal representation when appearing before them.
Since the Public Defender’s Office has refused to represent these detainees, who are among the approximately 2,000 suspected Palestinian terrorists caught inside Israel or in Gaza since October 7, the courts ordered that they be given private counsel in accordance with Israeli law, which also stipulates that funding for such legal representation come from the state. 1. Joe Biden Vows to Block Bill Requiring Proof of U.S. Citizenship to Vote, Calls Noncitizens Voting ‘Extraordinarily Rare’ - Breitbart
President Joe Biden is seemingly vowing to block legislation, known as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, that would require proof of American citizenship before an applicant is registered to vote in federal elections. The SAVE Act, introduced by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and co-sponsored by more than 100 House Republicans, would require state election officials to mandate voter registration applicants provide proof of American citizenship before they are added to the nation’s voter rolls.
“Federal law has been interpreted to prohibit states from checking to see if you’re a citizen even though, technically, the law says you must be a citizen,” Roy told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview. This week, the Biden administration released a statement on the SAVE Act, effectively vowing to block it from becoming law should it make its way to the president’s desk.

2. Right-Wing Disappoints In French Elections After Collusion By Left, Center - The Daily Wire
The left in France surged to victory in parliamentary elections over the weekend in a shock performance after weeks of surging momentum for the country’s right wing.
The New Popular Front coalition in France is made up of communists, socialists, and greens. The alliance was propelled to victory in the election over the National Rally, France’s right-wing faction, after centrists partnered with the left to block National Rally candidates.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who leads the centrist coalition Ensemble, worked with the New Popular Front to withdraw 200 candidates from races across France, urging support to consolidate support behind the remaining centrist or left-wing candidate. National Rally leader Jordan Bardella expressed bitter disappointment in the tactic, according to CNN. (Read more)

3. Six states shift toward GOP in wake of Biden nominee angst - Washington Examiner
Electoral College ratings for six states have shifted toward Republicans in former President Donald Trump‘s favor as the fate of President Joe Biden’s political future as the Democrats’ nominee remains on shifting sands.
The Cook Political Report shifted three states — Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada — from “toss-up” to “lean Republican” and shifted two other states, Minnesota and New Hampshire, from “likely” to “lean Democrat.” Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District also shifted from “likely” to “lean” Democrat.
“The notion that the presidential [race] is a Toss Up was a stretch even before the debate,” the Cook Political Report’s Dave Wasserman said of the electoral map. “Today, Trump has a clear advantage over Biden and a much more plausible path to 270 Electoral votes.” (Read more)

4. China Building New Military Spy Base Near U.S. Base In Caribbean - Daily Wire
Communist China is reportedly building a military spy base in Cuba in conjunction with the Cuban government not far from the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, according to newly published satellite images. The images, published by The Wall Street Journal, show that the newest spy base is being built at El Salao, a town outside of Santiago de Cuba.
Construction of the base, which has not been previously reported, began at the start of President Joe Biden’s administration and is “designed to hold a large formation of antennas known as a circularly disposed antenna array, which can be used to find and intercept electronic signals..”
The base will likely have the ability to spy on the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay even though the Chinese are using older technology that the U.S. and Russia quit using long ago, the report said. The spy base at El Salao is the fourth such base on the island, the report said. The other bases are located at Bejucal, Wajay, and Calabazar. (Read more)

5. Japan and Philippines sign ‘groundbreaking’ military pact - Washington Examiner
Japan and the Philippines have agreed to a “groundbreaking” agreement for cooperation between their militaries as both countries prepare for increasing tensions with China.
“With this signing, we look forward to increased cooperation and work … in order to bring greater stability to this part of the world,” Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said during a Monday press conference.
Their agreement is a signal development in the emergence of a so-called latticework of relationships between U.S. allies, a series of mutually reinforcing relationships that officials in Washington hope will function as a bulwark against China’s potential aggression. The pact, known as a reciprocal access agreement, could fortify the Philippines in an increasingly violent dispute with Beijing in the South China Sea and perhaps even buttress U.S. efforts to deter China from an attack on Taiwan.
The agreement contemplates “bilateral [and] multilateral [military] exercises and cooperation on defense equipment and technology,” according to a joint statement. The regional implications of such a pact were signaled at the opening of the document, as the officials “strongly opposed any unilateral attempts to change the peacefully established status quo by force or coercion,” and referred specifically to the East China Sea and South China Sea — where Japan and the Philippines, respectively, have territorial disputes with China — as well as Taiwan and the Korean Peninsula. 6. Wisconsin Supreme Court reinstates absentee ballot drop boxes - Milwaukee Journal
Wisconsin’s liberal-controlled Supreme Court on Friday restored the use of absentee ballot drop boxes in the swing state ahead of the upcoming elections — a reversal of a past decision from the court that could impact voter participation.
The 4-3 decision was a win for Democrats who argued the longstanding practice of allowing voters to file ballots into the locked, unmanned boxes made voting more accessible. That process, however, was highly criticized in 2020 by former President Donald Trump and Republicans who claimed without evidence that the boxes and absentee voting were rife with fraud.
"Our decision today does not force or require that any municipal clerks use drop boxes. It merely acknowledges what (state law) has always meant: that clerks may lawfully utilize secure drop boxes in an exercise of theirstatutorily-conferred discretion," Justice Ann Walsh Bradley wrote in the majority opinion.
Friday’s decision means election clerks across Wisconsin can use the ballot drop boxes during the Aug. 13 partisan primaries and the Nov. 5 presidential election. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: There They Go Again

The Democratic Party is in sheer panic mode after Joe Biden’s poor debate performance. There have been many stories where the party faithful are wringing their hands about what to do. Some have even called for him to step down in an apparent admission that Biden has dementia and his continued candidacy will pull down the rest of the ticket come election day. If it wasn’t enough that his feeble him-hawing, freezing up, rambling on without finishing thoughts to give the entire world the impression that Joe’s not in control, his wife Jill helping him off the stage so he wouldn’t fall on national television should be enough to convince even the least discerning among the party faithful. Then came Nancy Pelosi.
Sunday’s episode of CNN’s “State of the Union” found US Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and host Dana Bush (also the “unbiased” debate moderator) teaming up to accuse Trump of exactly what Biden has. Bash quoted friend of Joe saying that Biden has no business running for reelection and slow pitched the question to Pelosi, “What do you say to that? Is there any part of you that believes that President Biden should step aside?” Pelosi responded, “I want you to know I came home to California, south and north, and people are for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They have some judgment about a person who said, stood on that stage and lied, lied, lied, if you’re just talking about the debate.” Read More

More than 3.4K guns intercepted at airport security checkpoints in 2024, TSA says

The Transportation Security Administration said it has stopped more than 3,400 guns at airport security checkpoints so far this year, and most of the firearms were loaded.
The agency also said it screened more passengers this summer, including a record-breaking three million passengers this past Sunday.
A total of 3,269 firearms were intercepted at security checkpoints during the first half of 2024, which ended on June 30, the TSA said, adding that 94% of those weapons were loaded.
The number of firearms stopped during this period was similar to the total at this time last year – which was 3,251 – but the number of passengers this year has increased.
Officers screened nearly 7% more passengers during the first half of 2024 than during the same time span last year, the TSA said. During the second quarter of 2024, more than 236 million passengers were screened, outpacing the more than 221 million passengers screened in the second quarter of last year.
So far in 2024, TSA officers have detected an average of 19 firearms per day.
In the first eight days of July, which are included in the third quarter of 2024, officers across the U.S. intercepted another 166 firearms, totaling 3,435 firearms stopped by officers as of Monday. (Fox News) Read more here.

Remnants of Beryl to bring greatest tornado threat in nearly 20 years to parts of Northeast

Across parts of central New York, the tornado threat is its highest since 2006 as Beryl's remnants move into an area ripe with wind shear and atmospheric instability Wednesday afternoon.

The remnants of Beryl will move into the Northeast where they'll produce significant impacts in the form of dangerous severe storms and flash flooding. Across parts of central New York, the tornado threat is the highest in nearly 20 years.
The combination of the remnants of Hurricane Beryl and a passing frontal boundary will result in a dual severe weather risk for the Northeast, bringing a rare tornado threat along with the chance of significant flooding through at least Thursday morning.
Some strong showers and thunderstorms have already started to impact the region but are expected to increase in coverage and intensity throughout the day Wednesday.
Throughout its journey across the eastern U.S., Beryl has already posed a prolific tornado threat. Monday witnessed the highest number of Tornado Warnings ever issued on a single day in July, totaling 118. On Tuesday, several tornadoes were spotted in the Ohio Valley. Now, the threat heads into the Northeast on Wednesday.
The threat of widespread heavy rain and storms is expected to end Thursday as most of the storm system’s energy moves away from the region. (Fox Weather) Read more here.

The first of these magnificent monuments was built around 2780 BCE near the ancient city of Memphis. It is believed that 118 were commissioned and constructed in all of Egypt, while over 200 were also built in Sudan. Now scientists think they have discovered an ingenious technique used by ancient Egyptians to help them construct these colossal edifices.
Physicists from the University of Amsterdam started analysing an old wall painting from the tomb of Djehutihotep, dating back to around 1900 B.C.
The image depicts the construction process of a pyramid, and shows 172 people moving the massive stones. One detail in particular from the image caught the eye of the researchers, as they pored over it.
In one section, a worker pours water on sand in front of a sled that's carrying a colossal statue. For years Egyptologists had interpreted the scene as part of a purification ritual, Daniel Bonn, Professor at the University of Amsterdam, told the Washington Post.

Jesus March Takes San Francisco by Storm

A mere week after sexual deviancy marched through the streets of San Francisco, a Jesus March broke out filled with shouts of praise, a worship set and baptisms. On Saturday, July 6, social media posts on X (formerly Twitter) began filling peoples news feeds of the march, complete with video of the event and the baptisms and salvations that followed the march. Much of the commentary was provided by Sophia Lorey, Outreach Director CA Family Council according to her X bio. “Last week they flooded the streets with sexual perversion. We are writing a different story,” she posted.
There do not appear to be any celebrity leaders specifically attached to the march, just like with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Asbury University last year, but the group “California Will Be Saved” was tagged throughout the slew of posts highlighting the event, while co-leader of the group Ross Johnston posted from the event. According to the California Will Be Saved site, “Our mission is to bring the message of Salvation to a broken and lost generation in California through worship, prayer, the proclamation of the Gospel, and hosting the Presence of Jesus everywhere we go.
