Supreme Court Agrees To Hear Trump’s Appeal Of Decision Removing Him From Colorado Ballot
The Supreme Court agreed to hear former President Donald Trump’s appeal to the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to kick him off the state’s ballot.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled Dec. 19 that Trump is ineligible to be on the state’s primary ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. The Supreme Court set oral arguments to consider Trump’s appeal for Feb. 8, 2024.

Trump appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The Colorado Republican Party previously filed a separate appeal Dec. 27.

“The question of eligibility to serve as President of the United States is properly reserved for Congress, not the state courts, to consider and decide,” Trump’s petition stated. “By considering the question of President Trump’s eligibility and barring him from the ballot, the Colorado Supreme Court arrogated Congress’ authority.” (Daily Caller) Read more here.

- Father, we praise You that the Supreme Court will take this case. We ask for righteousness instead of politics. Let the justices actually see what is happening here, and rule accordingly. We pray that every American will be able to vote for whom they choose.

- “Let us choose what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.”          (Job 34:4)

Federal Judge Dismisses Trump Ballot Disqualification Case ‘With Prejudice’
A federal judge in California on Jan. 3 dismissed a lawsuit that sought to keep former President Donald Trump off the 2024 Republican primary ballot in that state.

District Judge David Carter granted a motion to dismiss the lawsuit “with prejudice,” which means that it can’t be submitted to the same court again, according to court papers.

A plaintiff attempted to argue that they suffered “emotional injury” as a result of the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, while watching the events unfold on television, on the radio, and in various publications. They then argued that the incident caused them “severe emotional distress” and then filed a lawsuit to keep the former president off California’s ballot.

However, the judge wrote that because the events occurred “more than two years before the plaintiff” filed suit, it was outside of the two-year statute of limitations.
The decision by Judge Carter, a Clinton-appointed jurist who has ruled against President Trump in a separate case, was posted online by former Republican National Committee for California Chair Harmeet Dhillon. (The Epoch Times) Read more.

- Lord, we thank You that this judge left Trump on the ballot in his state. But this constant claim of “emotional distress” is a lie that reflects extreme weakness in our people. We pray for a move of Your Holy Spirit to bring repentance, and inner strength. We ask for righteous judges who can see the problems and rule as if they were the sons of Issachar.

GOP Blocks Biden Bill to Fund, Hide Mass Migration
Democrats and their media allies are pressuring Republican leaders to endorse a $14 billion slush fund that would hide President Joe Biden’s migration flood during the 2024 election campaign.

“They ought to give me the money — I need to protect the border,” Biden told reporters on Jan. 2 about his “Emergency Supplemental” funding request.

But House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and other GOP leaders say the funding will be used to accelerate — not block — the inflow of Biden’s poor economic migrants during the 2024 campaign year.

“What the White House is proposing is more money to process and allow more illegals into the country,” Johnson told CNN host Jake Tapper on January 3. “We need to do the opposite of that.”

The funding fight is hidden from the public under the media’s skimpy coverage of Senate negotiations on border reforms and dramatic demands for aid to embattled Ukraine and Israel. Those negotiations have stalled amid the Democrats’ determination to protect their “parole” backdoor at the border, forcing the Democrats to step up their demands for the $14 billion. (Breitbart) Read more

-  Lord, we ask that the crisis at the border be a top priority of all lawmakers, and the White House to stop throwing money at a problem. We bind the demonic plan for open borders and ask Your Holy Spirit to stop them. Let this be a bipartisan issue, that the Congress and Senate would work together to stop the flow.

- “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. IDF confirms: IAF base damaged by Hezbollah missile strike - Israel National News

The IDF confirmed on Sunday that damage was inflicted on the air traffic control base on Mount Meron by a missile launched from Lebanon a day prior.

The Hezbollah missile strike hit the IDF base which controls aircraft flights through Israeli airspace.

The IDF emphasized that the regular operations of the unit were not disrupted and that all systems were backed up. (Read more)

2. Israel picks retired chief justice to join ICJ Gaza genocide tribunal -Jerusalem Post

Israel has named its former Supreme Court president Aharon Barak as its addition to an International Court of Justice panel due to hear a genocide allegation filed against it on Thursday and Friday, an Israeli official said on Sunday.

Under the ICJ’s rules, a state that does not have a judge of its nationality already on the bench can choose an ad hoc judge to sit in their case.

Barak, a champion of Supreme Court activism, was a focus of opposition for members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, whose judicial reform push last year bitterly polarized the public.

He is also an internationally recognized jurist, who survived the Holocaust as a child and immigrated to what was then Mandatory Palestine in 1947. (Read more)

3. For Israel's hostage families, despondency sets in as world attention shifts - Reuters

TEL AVIV, Jan 7 (Reuters) - As Israel's vigil for its hostages in Gaza moves into a fourth month, a sense that time is passing while world attention shifts elsewhere has deepened the anguish felt by their families as hopes have faded for a deal to secure their release.

The weekly demonstrations attract crowds in the thousands but developments like the presumed assassination in Lebanon last week of Saleh Al-Arouri, the deputy leader of Hamas, and political rows about the future of Gaza after the war have left families feeling increasingly left behind.

"There's an aspect of, kind of, hopelessness," said Rebecca Brindza, a former senior executive at a Tel Aviv start-up, who left her paid employment to help the hostage families organise in one of the multitude of self-help groups that emerged from the trauma of events on Oct. 7.

"A lot of us feel like the world kind of stopped on October 7th," she said. "And I think right now, what we're seeing is that the world in many ways is moving on." (Read more)

4. Israeli President Unveils Hamas Document Detailing Activities of ‘Terror Summer Camps’ - Algemeiner

i24 News – Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Sunday unveiled an internal Hamas memo detailing the activities of summer camps where children were brainwashed and trained to become antisemitic jihadists.

The document conclusively shows how Hamas “works to establish its ideology in the Gaza Strip, among other things, by educating children to hate Jews, and promoting religious extremism, violence, and terrorism,” Herzog said.

Hamas runs a network of summer camps which include military camps throughout the Gaza Strip, in order to train the younger generation of Gaza’s children to become the future generation of the organization’s terrorists.

The document — written and issued in July 2023, by the Al Qasam Brigades, the so-called military wing of Hamas — lays out a plan to host Hamas summer camps for children on the movement’s terrorist bases, with the goal “To advance the resistance culture and the values of Jihad, standing strong, and sacrifice within the children… to contribute to the militarization of society.” (Read more)

5.  Hamas was developing guided missiles with Iran’s help - World Israel News

The Nahal Brigade and special forces IDF troops uncovered a weapons manufacturing plant that proves Hamas was making guided cruise missiles under the instruction of Iran, the Times of Israel reports.

Until this discovery, it wasn’t believed that Hamas could manufacture accurate missiles on its own.

The weapons plant was found in the  Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods of Gaza City and it’s uncertain whether Hamas actually deployed these guided missiles or if they were just in the process of developing them.

The IDF confirmed they found “components proving terrorists of the Hamas terror organization learned under Iranian guidance how to operate and build precision components and strategic weapons.” (Read more)

1: Israel: Gaza Has Enough Food, but UN Struggles to Distribute It - Breitbart

Col. Elad Goren, Head of Israel’s Civil Department of the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), told reporters Friday that the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip had “stabilized,” and that there was enough food entering the area.

Goren addressed reporters in the wake of concerns expressed in the media about the possibility of “famine” in Gaza as a result of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, which started with a Hamas terror attack in Israel on October 7 that killed 1,200 people.

Before the war, he said, there was an average of “70 trucks carrying food entering Gaza every day. The average this week was 109 trucks.” He said that the trucks were providing, for example, 2 million loaves of pita bread every day. Overall, he said, over 126,000 tons of aid had entered Gaza, delivered on over 7,100 trucks.

In addition, he said, five field hospitals had been established, concentrated in the southwesters part of the Gaza Strip, and incubators and vaccines had been provided from Israel, as well as medical evacuation to other countries, where necessary for emergency or specialized treatment.

COGAT had, he said, made connections between UN humanitarian agencies and the owners of trucks in Gaza that deliver aid. Israel was also working to develop additional storage facilities for aid, and to built more shelter for civilians in the Al-Mawasi area, the “safe” zone established by Israel in southwestern Gaza in the early weeks of the war. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that You will enlighten the world about all of the efforts Israel is going to for humanitarian aid. Let everyone see the truth, the real issues and not allow lies to harm those efforts.

- “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another.” (Colossians 3:12a)

2: Defense Secretary Austin resumes duties, was in intensive care unit for days as public kept in the dark- Fox

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was in an intensive care unit for days but is now recovering and resumed full duties last night, according to new reports.

Austin was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Monday following complications with an elective medical procedure, Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder revealed in a statement Friday.

The news was kept from the press for days due to "medical and personal privacy issues," Ryder said, amid heightened tensions in the Middle East this week when a U.S. strike killed four members of an Iran-aligned Iraqi militia group in Baghdad and two suicide bombs in Iran left at least 103 people dead as Israel’s bombardment of Gaza continues.

According to Politico Pentagon reporter Lara Seligman, Austin remained in hospital Saturday and resumed full duties last night.

"I don’t have any updates to provide at this time in terms of when he’ll be discharged, but we will be sure to keep you and others updated," Seligman wrote on X, quoting Ryder. (Read more)

- Father, we pray that you will heal SecDef Austin of whatever this “elective” surgery entailed. But we also ask that transparency and truth be bound to his mind and heart so that the nation will know when our top defense official is ill.

3: Trump backed by 27 states in Supreme Court fight, who warn of 2024 'chaos' if he's removed from ballot – Fox

More than two dozen states have filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court, urging the nation’s highest court to keep former President Trump on the Colorado Republican presidential ballot and warning that failing to do so could throw the 2024 presidential election "into chaos."

The attorneys general of Indiana, West Virginia and 25 other states, warn the court that the move by the Colorado Supreme Court to declare Trump an "insurrectionist" under the Fourteenth Amendment "has vast consequences that reach far beyond Colorado."

The nation's highest court will hear arguments on February 8 and set a January 18 deadline for similar briefs. The justices issued an administrative stay that orders the Colorado Secretary of State to put the former president’s name on the GOP primary ballot, at least until the case is decided. (Read more)

- Lord, thank You for the amicus briefs of these states. We pray that Your will prevail over this case, bringing truth to the forefront so that all can see and understand.

4: Husband Of Ashli Babbitt Sues Government For Wrongful Death On January 6 – Daily Caller

The husband of Ashli Babbitt, a veteran who was shot and died during the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Riot, is suing the government for wrongful death.

Judicial Watch attorneys filed a lawsuit for $30 million against the U.S. government on behalf of Aaron Babbitt and his estate, according to court documents released Friday. The lawsuit alleged wrongful death and assault and battery.

Ashli Babbitt was shot dead by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd during the Jan. 6, 2021 protest. The lawsuit alleges Byrd was negligent when he fired his gun at Babbitt, who attorneys say only traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend Trump’s “Save America” rally, according to court records. They claimed the Trump supporter and Air Force veteran “posed no threat to the safety of anyone.”

“The facts speak the truth. Ashli was ambushed when she was shot by Lt. Byrd,” the attorneys wrote. “Ashli did not go to Washington as part of a group or for any unlawful or nefarious purpose.” (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Your justice over this horrific death. We ask that truth be revealed, and accountability be completed.

- “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”  (Proverbs 21:15)

5: White House Briefing Room Has Reportedly Devolved Into a "Mean Girls Power Struggle" – Daily Caller

Frustrations are reportedly boiling over in the White House briefing room as press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and national security spokesman John Kirby have been sharing a podium more frequently, White House sources apparently told Axios.

Since Hamas launched a devastating terror attack against Israel on Oct. 7, Kirby has routinely joined the White House press briefings alongside Jean-Pierre. Tensions between the pair have reportedly reignited and have been growing over how much time the pair split at the podium, Axios reported, citing White House sources.
Kirby, who has grown to be the top foreign policy spokesperson for the United States during the Israel-Hamas war, has previously expressed interest in becoming the White House press secretary, but Jean-Pierre has told others that she plans to stay through the election if President Joe Biden would like her to do so, Axios reported. A White House official disputed the claim to Axios that Kirby has suggested that he would like to be the White House press secretary.

Since Hamas’ terror attack on Israel, Jean-Pierre has only held one press briefing or gaggle on Air Force One by herself, and has otherwise been accompanied by Kirby or occasionally National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Axios reported. Kirby has continued to attend the briefings because Biden likes it, even asking the spokesman to personally brief him and to travel with him on both domestic and international trips. (Read more)

- Lord, whether any of us agree with these two people or not is irrelevant. We bind this power struggle and pray that You will bring truth and repentance to both of them. Jealousy, greed, and envy are all at play here. We pray for the fruits of the Spirit to come where the works of the flesh have prevailed.

- “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21)

6: Report: Former AOC Aide Paid Himself Nearly $140K in Donor Funds from His Own PAC - Breitbart

One of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) former top aides reportedly laid aside quite a bit of money in donor funds from his political action committee (PAC) for himself.

After stepping down from his position as her communications director in 2019, Corbin Trent created the No Excuses PAC, Fox News reported Saturday.

He created the PAC with the mission to kill the Senate filibuster by targeting Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ). However, Trent reportedly did not spend much money on its mission.

“Instead, Trent paid himself nearly $140,000 for reported communication and management consulting between February 2021 and September 2023, which is shown in Federal Election Commission filings,” the article said.

His group paid more than $14,000 for radio ad buys regarding the two senators, “meaning his PAC had paid him ten times more for reported consulting services than it spent on its stated goals,” the Fox report stated.

According to the Washington Examiner, Trent also wanted the PAC to urge centrist Senate Democrats to be more progressive, the outlet said Wednesday.

The PAC is also “revamping its mission to urge President Joe Biden not to seek reelection in 2024,” the report said. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray that this person will repent for using the funds for himself rather than their intended purpose. We pray the You will change his heart and mind in a move of Your Spirit that will touch even AOC and all that surround her.

- “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19)

7: House GOP’s Majority Will Temporarily Drop To 1 Seat Following Steve Scalise’s Cancer Treatment – Daily Caller

The Republican majority in the House of Representatives will fall to one seat after Jan. 21 due to the medical absence of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise from the chamber.

Scalise, who was diagnosed with blood cancer on Aug. 29, will be absent from the House upon its reconvening on Jan. 9 to receive a stem cell transplant, according to a statement released by his office.

Once Republican Rep. Bill Johnson of Ohio, who has resigned, vacates his office on Jan. 21, House Republicans will only have 218 members present and voting in a then-432 member chamber, where the majority to pass measures will be 217, giving them a majority of one seat.

“[Leader Scalise] is currently undergoing the transplant process, marking a significant milestone in his battle against cancer. Once the procedure is completed, he will be recovering under the supervision of his medical team and will work remotely until returning to Washington next month,” wrote his office in their statement. Scalise cannot vote remotely or by proxy as members are required to be present in the House to cast their votes, a policy that was reinstituted by House Republicans at the outset of the 118th Congress after Democrats had permitted proxy voting during their majorities in the 116th and 117th Sessions of Congress. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Steve Scalise that he will find Your healing, and mercy. We thank You for his life. We also pray that You will protect the GOP in the House of Representatives, and bring about righteous judgments in all that they do.

- “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (John 7:24)

8: Supreme Court Rules Red State Abortion Ban Can Stay In Effect – Daily Caller

The Supreme Court ruled Friday that Idaho’s abortion ban could remain in effect and agreed to take up the case in April.

The request for a stay came from Republican Attorney General Raúl Labrador, who filed a petition with Justice Elena Kagan on Nov. 26 asking her to overturn a lower court’s decision to bar the state from enforcing its law. Kagan wrote in the order that the request for a stay had been granted until the court heard the case in April.

“The preliminary injunction issued on August 24, 2022, by the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, case No. 1:22-cv-00329, is stayed,” Kagan wrote. “The applications for stay are also treated as petitions for writs of certiorari before judgment, and the petitions are granted on the question presented in Idaho’s application.”

Both parties will have an hour to argue their cases to the court, according to the order. (Read more)

- Father, as this state fights to save the unborn from the shedding of innocent blood, we pray that You will intervene to protect the children. We ask that anything in the law that is not pleasing to You be removed and the ban be ultimately upheld.

- “Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.” (Prov. 6:17)

And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!
"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Lightning Strikes St. Peter Statue on Pope Francis’ Birthday, Internet Lights Up

CV NEWS FEED // Before the end of 2023, the Internet was abuzz with rumors, later confirmed, that lightning struck a statue of St. Peter on Pope Francis’ birthday, December 17.

The news was first reported in Italian on December 26 by Andrea Cionci, an Italian Catholic blogger who questions the legitimacy of Francis as a successor of St. Peter. The rumor made its way into the Spanish Catholic blogosphere and was quickly translated into English by the “Pope Head” Substack:

On Sunday December 17, 2023, lightning literally pulverized the key and halo of the statue of Saint Peter, located on the facade of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of San Nicolas, north of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The story was “reported by the Telegram channel ‘The Pope’s Pearls,’” Cionci wrote. The report “seemed to be fake, given that no news could be found on the web,” he added, “but the event has just been confirmed by the Reverend Father Justo Lofeudo, a priest who is certainly a Bergoglian.”

“Father Lofeudo certainly did not realize the effect that the disclosure of the photo would have,” Cionci continued:

What is striking, in fact, is that the event occurred on Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s birthday, the day before the publication of the Fiducia supplicans declaration which opens up blessings for gay couples.

Catholic author Taylor Marshall highlighted the story on his YouTube Channel, commenting that the lightning not only happened during Francis’ birthday and one day before the publication of the controversial document Fiducia Supplicans, “but is also in his home diocese: Bergoglio was Archbishop and Cardinal of Buenos Aires.” Read More

Ex-Terrorist Turned Christian Predicts Thousands in Gaza Will Come to Faith in Jesus
A one-time terrorist who turned to faith in Jesus in the 1990s is predicting thousands of Gazans will become Christians as the war between Hamas and Israel rages on. The 73-year-old Taysir “Tass” Abu Saada, a former member of the Fatah terrorist group, recently told Joel Rosenberg, an American-Israeli communications strategist, he believes the war will lead many in Gaza to feel hopeless, abandoned, and lied to by Hamas, the terror group governing Gaza. As a result, he predicted they will turn from Islam and toward Christianity. “Hamas is an ideology that is spread among many people, not only in the Gaza Strip but all over the world,” Saada explained on the “Rosenberg Report” from TBN.

“However, God has a plan. And I believe the Arabs’ and the Jews’ plan is also part of that — and that is where my hope is.”  He continued, “That is why I am back in the Holy Land, to move to the Gaza Strip and take part in rebuilding. I believe, with all the destruction, with all that happened, with the hardship the Palestinians have gone through, they cannot sit back, but will ask, ‘Why?’ God is going to do a lot of work [in Gaza], and I want to be a part of that.” Saada said that, in time, “the harvest is going to be huge,” referring to the number of Gazans he is confident will ultimately turn to the same faith in Jesus he has found. - Father, we say YES and AMEN to Gazans surrendering their hearts to Jesus! In the midst of tragic circumstances surrounding Israel and the Gaza strip we know that Your purposes and plans will prevail. Bring 'workers' to gather the harvest and cause thousands of testimonies revealing encounters and transformed lives touched by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We declare that suffering will not be wasted but will bring many into the Kingdom of Yeshua! In the powerful Name of Jesus Christ-Amen

Scripture: When they came to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him. Luke 23:33

Lyrics:
Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.

Refrain
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;
Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,
Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.

Refrain

Now I’ve given to Jesus everything,
Now I gladly own Him as my king,
Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!

Refrain

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!

Refrain
