Identical Twins Went Home for Christmas After Parents Refused Abortion
It’s a story heard way too often: doctors repeatedly advised parents to have an abortion. In this case, doctors told parents to end the lives of one or two of their rare 200-million-to-one identical triplets amid fears they would lose all three babies before they were born. But the couple trusted their instincts and moved 40 miles closer to a better hospital and fought for each of their children. Ace Page, father of infant triplets, told the Daily Mail, “We’re lost for words to be honest, I don’t think it’s really sunk in that we’ve got three identical boys.” His sons, Cruz, Enzo, and Aljo, are identical triplets, originating from a single implanted egg. They were born 10 weeks prematurely in October at just 29 weeks and weighing two pounds, 7 ounces, two pounds, 11 ounces, and two pounds, 13 ounces, respectively, and spent their first three months after birth in a Bristol, England hospital before heading home just before Christmas.

The couple, who used in vitro fertilization (IVF) to become pregnant, experienced the rare 200-million-to-one odds of having identical triplets. At first, they were told they were having twins, but at a follow-up ultrasound, the third baby was discovered. Around 17 weeks of pregnancy, Shannon Page began fainting. That was when doctors discovered a complication that can occur with multiple pregnancies called twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). The babies share a placenta, which sometimes results in one infant thriving at the expense of the others. With this condition, one or more infants can be born unusually small and even die. As a remedy, Page’s medical providers recommended selective abortion for one or two of the babies to ensure the survival of the third. (Lifenews) Read More Here
- Abba, we give GLORY to you for the miraculous birth of these precious triplets and celebrate this couple's decision in refusing to abort! Bless the Holy Spirit for guiding them in choosing LIFE and trusting the outcome, against all odds. Father, continue to bless this special couple and so many others who have protected their babies in the womb despite medical protocol of abortion. We shout hallelujah for this miraculous outcome and declare in Jesus Name that these precious sons will grow to know Christ as Lord and Savior, bringing glory to Him throughout their entire lives! By the powerful Blood and Name of Yeshua- Amen and Amen.

- "The word of the LORD came to me saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations".  (Jeremiah 1:4-5)

Harris presides as Congress certifies Trump's victory, marking a very different Jan. 6th

On a day replete with political symbolism for both parties, Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday officially acknowledged President-elect Donald Trump as the winner of the 2024 election, certifying the electoral college votes.

While the certification of votes served as a ceremonial completion to the turbulent 2024 election, the day also marked a momentous anniversary of the violent mob that stormed the Capitol four years ago, when Trump supporters attempted to disrupt the count.

Those scarring events were not far from lawmakers' minds, as many released statements ahead of time commemorating the dark day. But the president-elect was ready to cast a more jubilant tone on his Truth Social page early Monday, calling it “A BIG MOMENT IN HISTORY. MAGA!”

She stood stoically at the dais, crossing her hands or passing along manila envelopes with the electoral college vote certificates, as the drone of each state's official vote count was read — including those from states that voted for her. Ironically, the senators submitted each count to her with the honorific "Madam President," as Harris served in her capacity as president of the Senate. (MSN.com) Read more here.

- Lord we thank you for this victory that happened today. We know that this is not a coincidence that this fell on the 6th, because you have redeemed this day from the chaos that happened four years ago on this date. We praise You, faithful God, for You have brought order and justice to our land. And we thank you for all that is to come in this new year, in Jesus name. Amen!

- “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Major winter storm covers 13 states, breaking snowfall records as it moves east

A major winter storm that broke snowfall records in the Midwest is now hitting the mid-Atlantic, bringing with it a heavy mix of snow and ice and canceling more than 1,400 flights across the U.S.

The heaviest snow and ice is moving into the Appalachians and the East Coast's Interstate 95 corridor on Monday, with states of emergency in effect in West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland.

Schools are closed in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

A winter storm warning was issued for Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, where 8 to 12 inches of snow is possible. If D.C. gets more than 8.3 inches, it would be the biggest snowstorm for the city since 2016.

Federal offices are closed in D.C., where a snow emergency is in effect until at least the end of Tuesday, officials said.

D.C. Transportation Department director Sharon Kershbaum told ABC News Live that the city has been preparing for weeks and has geared up nearly 250 snowplows.

"If you don't need to travel, please don't," she said, adding, "Our priority is to make sure that Congress can get where they need to." (ABC News) Read more here.

- Lord God we speak to this storm and say “peace be still!“ in the mighty name of Jesus. We agree and declare that no damage will be done to anyone's homes, businesses, or schools, in Jesus name and that no harm will come to fruition in Jesus name. Amen.

- “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39)

Canada’s Trudeau announces resignation following party pressure amid criticisms of Trump, budget handling

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that he intends to resign as party leader and prime minister after pressure from within his own Liberal Party increasingly grew amid heightened criticisms over his handling of the economy and threats levied by President-elect Donald Trump. He said he will resign once the party selects a new leader.

"I intend to resign as party leader, as Prime Minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust nationwide competitive process," Trudeau told reporters. "Last night, I asked the president of the Liberal Party to begin that process. This country deserves a real choice in the next election, and it is become clear to me that if I'm having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election."

"As you all know, I am fighter and I'm not someone who backs away from a fight. Particularly when the fight is as important as this one is. But I have always been driven by my love for Canada, by my desire to serve Canadians, and by what is in the best interests of Canadians and Canadians deserve a real choice in the next election," Trudeau added. "And it has become obvious to me with,, the internal battles that I cannot be the one to carry the liberal standard into the next election." (Fox News) Read more here.

- Lord God, we lift Canada and the leadership up to you right now and agree with all your people in Canada that righteous leadership will rise up and take control. We pray that justice and righteousness would rule and reign in this land and that you would bring restoration to all damage that has been done in Jesus' name, amen.

- "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."  (2 Corinthians 5:10)

Trump administration plans crippling sanctions on ICC

President-elect Donald Trump plans to implement devastating sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague immediately after taking office, sources close to the matter disclosed to Israel Hayom. These executive orders could be unveiled as soon as January 21, just one day after his inauguration.

The sanctions package will target both individual ICC personnel, including judges and prosecutors, and the institution as a whole. The administration intends to classify the ICC as an organization threatening US interests, employing designation procedures similar to those used by the US State Department for terrorist organizations globally. This designation will trigger severe restrictions on anyone involved with the court's operations.

Financial institutions worldwide will be required to terminate relationships with ICC personnel or face US sanctions themselves. Mirroring actions taken against sanctioned Israeli citizens by the outgoing administration, ICC staff will find themselves unable to perform routine banking operations or use credit cards. Their economic activities will be effectively frozen, with exceptions only for essential needs such as food purchases. Furthermore, all US-based assets belonging to ICC employees and the institution will be frozen.

The incoming administration's strategy extends beyond unilateral actions, as it plans to secure commitments from US allies to reject cooperation with arrest warrants targeting Israeli officials. (Israel Hayom) Read more here.

- Lord God, we thank you for an administration and leadership for their willingness to unapologetically stand up for Israel and your people. We continue to pray for peace over your people in Israel and that they would come to know you intimately. We pray, Lord, that your hand would be on our nation and on this administration to administer justice and peace, not only in our land but also to the nations. We speak all of this in faith, in Jesus' name, amen.

- “He chooses our inheritance for us,
The glory of Jacob whom He loves.”

(Psalm 47:4)

3. Houthi Leader Warns Israelis: ‘Those Who Want to Sleep’ Comfortably Should Leave Country - Algemeiner

A senior leader of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist group in Yemen has warned Israelis that they should flee to Cyprus or “return to their original country” if they want to sleep comfortably at night.

“Those who want to sleep should go to sleep in Cyprus or return to their original country,” Hazam al-Assad, a member of the Houthis’ political bureau, posted on X/Twitter on Sunday in a Hebrew-language message directed at Israelis.

The post came one day after al-Assad vowed that the Houthis will continue to attack Israel in support of the Palestinians in Gaza.

“We won’t stop … You must watch the sky, you must not sleep, you must not enjoy life as long as the children of Gaza die from bombs, hunger and cold. We will not abandon Gaza,” he posted. (Read more)

4. Gaza rocket strikes near Sderot daycare center - Israel Hayom

Three rockets were launched toward Sderot on Monday, with the Iron Dome defense system successfully intercepting one projectile. A second rocket landed on a city street, while search teams located the third in an open area outside the city limits, the IDF confirmed.

During the attack, a 68-year-old woman sustained minor injuries while rushing to a shelter. Magen David Adom emergency teams provided immediate medical attention before transporting her to Barzilai Hospital, where she remained in stable condition and fully conscious.

The impact site of one rocket was identified as the yard of a local Chabad emissary, marking the third time his residence has been targeted by rocket fire since Operation Protective Edge in 2014. While the strike caused property damage, no additional injuries were reported. (Read more)

5. Amnesty International suspends Israel branch for rejecting NGO's reports - exclusive - Jerusalem Post

The International Board of Amnesty has suspended Amnesty International Israel’s (AI) membership with the non-governmental organization's network for two years in response to the Israeli branch's criticism of the international body's recent reports on Israel and allegations that the Israel branch systematically excluded Palestinians, according to leaked internal memorandums issued on Monday.

Insiders say, however, that evidence of racism may have been orchestrated by AI leadership and the international body has its own obsession and bias against Israel.

"We take this action in response to evidence of endemic anti-Palestinian racism within AI Israel, which violates core human rights principles and Amnesty values, and evidence of AI Israel’s misalignment with and hostility to Amnesty positions," said a Monday email from the IB Amnesty International interim chair Tiumalu Lauvale Peter Fa’afiu. 1. Blinken heads to South Korea, Japan and France - Reuters

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to South Korea, Japan and France from Jan. 4-9, the State Department said on Friday, amid a political crisis in Seoul.
South Korea's presidential guards and military troops on Friday prevented authorities from arresting impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol, under criminal investigation for insurrection over his Dec. 3, 2024, martial law bid.
Blinken will meet with senior South Korean government officials and will discuss how they "can strengthen key efforts to promote a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific, as well as trilateral efforts with Japan," the State Department said. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray for success for Anthony Blinkens trip to South Korea with the purpose of strengthening key efforts to promote a free, open, and prosperous IndoPacific.

- "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers," (Psalm 1:1)

2. Turkish officials: Assad's fall wasn't the original plan - Israel Hayom

Turkish officials have disclosed to the US administration that neither they nor Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) had originally planned or anticipated the overthrow of Bashar Assad and Syria's capture, instead seizing an unexpected opportunity for success – information that US officials subsequently shared with Israel.

The Turkish explanation indicated their original strategy aimed only to modestly expand Mohammad al-Julani's organization's control around Aleppo in northern Syria, near the Turkish border. The unexpectedly rapid collapse of Aleppo and the disintegration of Syrian military forces prompted al-Julani and his supporters to push forward into additional regions of the country.

Simultaneously, contradictory reports emerge from Syria regarding the new leadership's approach toward minority communities. Images obtained by Israel Hayom from Homs show new leadership officials wearing ISIS insignia on their clothing. Additional photographs from Baniyas in northwestern Syria reveal HTS representatives requiring women to wear face-covering niqabs.

Contrasting with these developments, al-Julani personally met with Syrian Christian leadership representatives, repeating his pledge that the new administration would protect minority communities. Despite these assurances, the Kurdish leadership in northern Syria continues to report harassment from the new leadership. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for Syria and it's new leadership. We do pray peace in this region and pray they are friendly to the United States and Israel.

- " When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)

3. Risk of Ethiopian volcanic eruption prompts evacuation of residents - Reuters

ADDIS ABABA, Jan 3 (Reuters) - A volcano in northeastern Ethiopia was showing signs of starting to erupt on Friday, prompting authorities to move residents to temporary shelters, a state-affiliated broadcaster and a government geological office said.

The Ethiopian Geological Institute posted a video on its Facebook page showing what appeared to be dust and smoke emerging from a volcano in Awash Fentale in Afar region.
Fana Broadcasting, citing a regional administrator in Afar, reported that authorities had evacuated residents out of the affected area, which is roughly 165 km (102 miles) from the capital Addis Ababa. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray safety upon these people residing in the area of this potential volcano erupting in Ethiopia. We speak calm to this volcano that you would prevent it from erupting and keep the people safe and secure, in Jesus name.

- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)

4. Hospitals in China overwhelmed by surge in HMPV patients raising concerns about a new epidemic - Jerusalem Post

China is experiencing a surge in cases of human metapneumovirus (HMPV), leading to overcrowded hospitals and raising public concern about a potential epidemic. The outbreak coincides with the winter season, which typically sees an increase in respiratory illnesses due to colder weather and more indoor activities facilitating the spread of viruses.

In response to the rising cases, the Chinese government announced measures to curb the increase of respiratory diseases. These measures include constant monitoring of cases, the adoption of masks, social distancing, and disinfection of public spaces. "It is safe to travel to China," said Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs during a press conference, reassuring that both locals and tourists can feel safe traveling in China. Mao emphasized that the current situation is a normal seasonal rise in respiratory infections and not a cause for alarm. (Read more)

- Lord, we pray for China as they manage this surge in respiratory illnesses in their country. We pray healing upon their people and that these respiratory illnesses would start to decline.

- "Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—  who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases." (Psalms 103:2-3)

5. Antibiotic emergency ‘could claim 40 million lives in next 25 years’ - The Guardian

Dame Sally Davies has a straightforward message about the coming year. We face a growing antibiotic emergency that could have devastating impacts on men, women and children across the globe, she says.

Davies, a former chief medical officer for England, has become a leading advocate for global action to fight the scourge of superbugs.

She told the Observer that there is a real danger that routine procedures – from surgery to childbirth – could carry widespread life-threatening risks because of the spread of bacteria that possess antimicrobial resistance (AMR). “About a million people die every year because of the spread of microbial resistance, and that figure will rise over the next 25 years,” she said. “It is really scary.”

Estimates suggest that by 2050, death rates from AMRs will have doubled, with figures indicating almost 40 million people will lose their lives to superbugs over the next 25 years, with elderly people especially at risk. (Read more)

 - Lord we pray over this alarming report about the amount of deaths that are possible due to these super bugs in our society. We pray that medical breakthroughs would come forth to combat these predictions and we pray healing and health over our nation.

- "He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)
6. Jimmy Carter's family pays respects to beloved late president: ‘His spirit fills this place’- The Christian Post

Family members of the late former President Jimmy Carter paid their respects at a ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, which focused on his charitable organization, the Carter Center.

Commencing the six-day state funeral held in tribute to the former president was a motorcade that traveled through Carter’s hometown of Plains, Georgia, before arriving at a private funeral ceremony held at the Carter Center in Atlanta late Saturday afternoon. A military escort carried Carter's casket into the center.

During the service, a choir sang the U.S. Navy hymn “Eternal Father Strong to Save,” a musical rendition of the Lord’s Prayer, and a choral version of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Carter had served in the Navy for several years before entering politics.

Two wreaths were laid by Carter's casket, as family members and staff at the Carter Center gathered together for the ceremony, which lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Jason Carter, the late president's grandson, gave remarks before those gathered, visibly repressing sadness as he talked about his beloved grandfather. “His spirit fills this place,” he said of the Carter Center, directing many of his words to those who work at the facility. “And the real reason that his spirit fills this place is because of the people who are standing here.” (Read more)

- Lord, we lift up Jimmy Carter's family as they mourn his death. We pray for strength and peace and great memories of this man who was our former president.

- Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” (Revelation 14:13)

Forgiveness

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, January 6, 2025

Sometimes it is difficult to forgive someone for an offense. There have been times in the past where people have done some really rotten things to me, even to the point of falsely accusing me of doing wrong and taking action that had dire impact on me and my family. In one case, I prayed to the LORD that I couldn’t take it anymore and asked if He would remove this person from my life. And he did. But I had to find forgiveness in my heart. Forgiveness is essential to a healthy life and relationship with the LORD. If we do not have the capacity to forgive and the willingness to do so, a root of bitterness can take hold in our hearts that will lead to many relationship and health issues.

Genesis 44:18-47:27 continues the story of Joseph as ruler over Egypt and his brothers. Who, not realizing Joseph’s true identity, returned to Egypt to buy more grain and secure the release of their brother Simeon. In a final test of their hearts, Joseph had his goblet placed in Benjamin’s pack, and sent his steward to “catch” Benjamin in the supposed act of theft. The brothers are brought back to stand before Joseph, and as punishment Benjamin is to become Joseph’s slave. Judah approached Joseph and said, “Please my lord! Let your servant say something privately…(44:1a).” The Hebrew verb used here for approach is “nagash,” meaning to “draw near” or “join,” and has the connotation of being close enough to touch. Judah then pleads for his brother Benjamin’s freedom, and offers himself in the place of Benjamin. Read More

NASA’s LEXI Will Provide X-Ray Vision of Earth’s Magnetosphere

A NASA X-ray imager is heading to the Moon as part of NASA's Artemis campaign, where it will capture the first global images of the magnetic field that shields Earth from solar radiation.

The Lunar Environment Heliospheric X-ray Imager, or LEXI, instrument is one of 10 payloads aboard the next lunar delivery through NASA’s CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) initiative, set to launch from the agency's Kennedy Space Center in Florida no earlier than mid-January, with Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost Lander. The instrument will support NASA’s goal to understand how our home planet responds to space weather, the conditions in space driven by the Sun.

Once the dust clears from its lunar landing, LEXI will power on, warm up, and direct its focus back toward Earth. For six days, it will collect images of the X-rays emanating from the edges of our planet’s vast magnetosphere. This comprehensive view could illustrate how this protective boundary responds to space weather and other cosmic forces, as well as how it can open to allow streams of charged solar particles in, creating aurora and potentially damaging infrastructure.

“We’re trying to get this big picture of Earth’s space environment,” said Brian Walsh, a space physicist at Boston University and LEXI’s principal investigator. “A lot of physics can be esoteric or difficult to follow without years of specific training, but this will be science that you can see.” Read More

Thought for the Day
He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’;
And [He speaks] to the showers and to the downpour [of His mighty rains], ‘Be strong.’

“God seals (brings to a standstill, stops) [by severe weather] the hand of every man,
That all men [whom He has made] may know His work [that is, His sovereign power and their subjection to it].
(Job 37:6,7 AMP)
