In the world of collegiate football, it appears Jesus is going on a blitz. Several young football players have, in recent days, used the publicity from their games as a way to point fans and viewers toward the Gospel — a holy interference that seems to be gaining momentum. Athletes from a host of teams are speaking out about their faith in God.
Ahmed Hassanein, a defensive end for the Boise State Broncos, offered perhaps the most powerful testimony after his team’s loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions. “First, I want to start off and say, all glory to Jesus Christ,” he said. “He’s the true champion.” Hassanein then turned to his defensive coach, Deion Barnes, telling him, “Coach D, you changed my life. … I did not know God until I got to Boise State.” The player went on to give a succinct Gospel presentation, telling the reporters gathered at the press conference that “Jesus Christ is the only true God,” who “died and rose from the dead three days later. Mike Johnson re-elected Speaker of the House after Trump puts the squeeze on pair of GOP holdouts
|

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) was re-elected to another term in the House after two Republican dissenters flipped last minute in a floor vote on Friday — with President-elect Donald Trump personally intervening to shut down the opposition.
Johnson, 52, was staring down a razor-thin Republican majority in the House, with 219 members of his own party seated for the start of the session and 215 Democrats, meaning he could only afford to lose one vote and still win the speaker’s gavel with a 218-vote majority.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who has been a thorn in Johnson’s side almost since the Louisiana Republican ascended to the position in October 2023, had also declared before the noon vote kicked off that he wouldn’t be casting his ballot for the incumbent speaker under any circumstances.
That gave the incoming speaker no margin for error, with 434 members present and every Democrat preparing to vote for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). (New York Post) Go here.

Trump Says if He is Sentenced on Jan 10, "It Would Be the End of the Presidency as We Know it"

President-elect Donald Trump has expressed his outrage in a post on Truth Social after New York Judge Juan Merchan set a sentencing date of January 10 in his New York “hush money” case.
Trump said that if the judge’s decision is allowed to stand, “it would be the end of the Presidency as we know it.”
If it is not overturned or postponed, the sentencing will occur just ten days before Trump returns to the White House.
Trump responded to the date being scheduled by writing, “Every Legal Scholar and Pundit, including the highly respected, and sadly recently passed, David Rivkin, as well as Jonathan Turley, Elie Honig, Andy McCarthy, Alan Dershowitz, Gregg Jarrett, Elizabeth Price Foley, Katie and Andy Cherkasky, Paul Ingrassia, and many others, have unequivocally stated that the Manhattan D.A.’s Witch Hunt is a nonexistent case, which is not only barred by the Statute of Limitations but, on the merits, should never have been brought.”

Lord, we once again ask that all lawfare against President Trump be dissolved for good. The judge in this case is not “inclined” to impose a prison sentence, even though NY law does not provide for one under this statute. They appear to be hoping to brand Trump a convicted felon before inauguration. We pray for an appeal that will be swift to remove this situation so that the President can do his job effectively without distractions.

Outrage as Biden Set to Award Hillary Clinton, George Soros with Presidential Medal of Freedom

Social media erupted in anger Saturday morning with news that President Biden will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and left-wing billionaire George Soros.
The award, the nation’s highest civilian honor, is given to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values or security of the United States, world peace or other significant societal, public or private endeavors, the White House said in a statement.
Tesla founder Elon Musk led the furious outcry, labeling the decision to award Soros the honor as "a travesty."
Musk shared a video clip of himself on Joe Rogan's podcast, where he said he believed that Soros "fundamentally hates humanity."

Catholic Joe Biden Honors Abortion, Gay Marriage Activists with Presidential Medal
|
|
President Joe Biden awarded gay marriage and abortion activists with Presidential Citizens Medals Thursday.
Mary Bonauto, an attorney and gay marriage activist who argued before the Supreme Court in Obergefell v. Hodges, which created a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, and Evan Wolfson, a leading gay marriage activist, are among 20 recipients of the prestigious award presented at the White House Thursday. Eleanor Smeal, who led national pro-abortion campaigns and routinely criticized the Catholic Church’s position on abortion and sexuality, was also awarded.
“The Presidential Citizens Medal is awarded to citizens of the United States of America who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens,” the White House announcement stated. “President Biden believes these Americans are bonded by their common decency and commitment to serving others. The country is better because of their dedication and sacrifice.”

CA Congresswoman Calls for Fort Liberty Whistleblowers to Come Forward After NOLA, Vegas Attacks

Florida congresswoman and Air Force veteran is urging anyone who encountered New Orleans terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar or Las Vegas bomber Matthew Livelsberger at Fort Liberty, formerly Fort Bragg, to contact her office.
She also asked for information on failed assassin Ryan Routh, a former North Carolina man who was arrested at President-elect Donald Trump's Florida golf course while allegedly aiming a rifle through the fence while the soon-to-be commander in chief was playing a round.
"If you are at Fort Bragg (Liberty) and have any information regarding these three men but are afraid to come forward to your chain of command, I can provide whistleblower protection and intake information," Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote in a post on X Thursday night.
Routh, 58, had roots in North Carolina but was most recently living in Hawaii. Luna appeared to reference a recent report that Routh, a civilian with a lengthy criminal history, had visited Fort Bragg dozens of times.
Luna is a member of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. Her office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Army said Thursday that while both Jabbar and Livelsberger served at the North Carolina base, there was no overlap in the time they were stationed there. (Fox News)

1. Katz: Israel will act if Hezbollah refuses to exit Southern Lebanon - JNS
If the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization refuses to withdraw from Southern Lebanon in accordance with the terms of the Nov. 26 ceasefire agreement with the Lebanese government, the deal will be void, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned on Sunday.
“Israel is interested in the implementation of the agreement in Lebanon and will continue to enforce it fully and without compromise to ensure the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes,” Katz said during a visit to an Israel Defense Forces base in Israel’s north.
“But the first condition for the implementation of the agreement is the complete withdrawal of the Hezbollah terror organization beyond the Litani River, the dismantling of all weapons, and the [removal] of the terror infrastructure in the area by the Lebanese army, something that hasn’t happened yet,” the Israeli defense minister continued.
“If this condition is not met, there will be no agreement, and Israel will be forced to act independently to ensure the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes,” he said. (Read more)

2. Islamist party offers to back Netanyahu government - World Israel News
An Arab-Israeli party aligned with a controversial Islamist movement has offered to support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government in the Knesset, should Netanyahu face opposition from some of his coalition allies over a possible ceasefire and hostage deal with Hamas.
Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, who lead the Religious Zionist Party and Otzma Yehudit factions, have expressed opposition to any deal with Hamas that would include major concessions, such as the freeing of prominent jailed Palestinian terrorists, an IDF withdrawal from most of the Gaza Strip, and a permanent end to the war in the Gaza Strip.
On Saturday night, MK Mansour Abbas, chairman of the United Arab List (Ra’am) told Israel’s Channel 12 that his party’s five Knesset members could provide Netanyahu with a parliamentary “safety net” should Ben-Gvir and Smotrich attempt to either topple the government or block passage of a hostage deal in the Knesset. 3. Israel lays out NIS 3.4 billion plan to return northern residents home in March - Times of Israel
The Finance Ministry on Sunday presented a NIS 3.4 billion ($934 million) compensation plan to help bring thousands of evacuated residents of Israel’s battered northern communities back home in early March, after more than a year of fighting with Hezbollah.
“The key to returning home is security and we are not going to compromise on this matter,” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, at a press conference in Jerusalem. “Residents of the north are returning to a different security reality, and we will make sure that quiet is maintained for years.”
The announcement of the return to home plan comes after extended delays and numerous complaints from residents of Israel’s northern communities, who have been internally displaced for more than a year. (Read more)

4. Givati soldier severely injured in northern Gaza - Israel National News
A soldier in the Tzabar Battalion, Givati Brigade, was severely injured on Sunday during combat in northern Gaza, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said.
The soldier was evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, his family has been notified.
On Sunday morning, the IDF said that, in an activity based on IDF intelligence, the IAF struck over 100 terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, and eliminated dozens of Hamas terrorists throughout the weekend. (Read more)

5. 2,100-year-old coin hoard dating to dynasty of Jewish kings discovered in Jordan Valley - Live Science
A 2,100-year-old hoard of 160 coins has been discovered at an archaeological site in the Jordan Valley.
The coins date to the reign of Alexander Jannaeus (circa 103 to 76 B.C.), who was both a high priest and a king of the Hasmoneans — a dynasty of Jewish kings who ruled a kingdom that encompassed what is now Israel, the West Bank and parts of other neighboring areas. This kingdom started in 167 B.C., when Jewish inhabitants of the area rose up against the Seleucid Empire and succeeded in taking over parts of it. During the first century B.C., the Roman Republic conquered the Hasmoneans' territory and allowed King Herod to establish his own kingdom.
The coins have eight pointed stars engraved on them and contain both Aramaic and Greek inscriptions, which give the name of Alexander Jannaeus and say the coins were minted in the 25th year of his reign, the University of Haifa reported in a translated statement. This type of coin was minted in 80 or 79 B.C. (Read more)

1. Schumer Endorses Anti-Israel DEI Champion For DNC Chair – Daily Wire
On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) endorsed the chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, who supports the hard-Left anti-Semites of his party and is a devotee of DEI policies, to head the Democratic National Committee.
Schumer’s disingenuous behavior vis-à-vis Israel has been on display for years. Boasting that his last name closely resembles the Hebrew word “shomer,” which means to guard or protect, Schumer has bragged of his support for Israel despite his consistent betrayals of the Jewish state. He only voted against Barack Obama’s approval of the Iran nuclear deal after he knew it would pass without his vote; he was silent as vicious anti-Semitic actions took place across American universities (“A recent congressional report shows how he texted then-Columbia president Minouche Shafik telling her to keep her head down as the noise is only coming from Republicans,” JNS reported); he refused to bring an anti-Semitism bill to the Senate floor; and he brazenly tried to interfere in Israeli politics by declaring elections should be held to oust Prime Minister Netanyahu, saying last March, in the middle of Israel’s desperate war against Hamas, “At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel, at a time when so many Israelis have lost their confidence in the vision and direction of their government.”

2. Reports: Biden Beefing up U.S. Military Presence in Kurdish Syria - Breitbart
Multiple reports from northern Syria on Thursday indicated the U.S. military is reinforcing its presence in Syrian Kurdistan, or Rojava, potentially building a new base in the city of Kobani.
The regional outlet Kurdistan 24 reported on Thursday that “a convoy of 50 trucks carrying Bremer walls entered Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-controlled areas in northeastern Syria (Rojava) on Thursday.” Citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a non-governmental organization (NGO), Kurdistan 24 reported that the convoy was headed to the Kurdish city of Kobani, on the Turkish border.
“Sources from the observatory indicated that the delivery is part of ongoing efforts by US forces to reinforce existing bases and establish a new military facility in Kobani,” Kurdistan 24 reported. “Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that excavation and construction work is expected to begin on Friday, with additional reinforcements anticipated.”
The independent news outlet Iran International separately reported on Thursday, citing news sources tied to the SDF, that the U.S. “coalition” against the Islamic State was “constructing a military base in Kobani.” The SDF-linked news outlets also confirmed sightings of the construction materials convoy heading to the city.

3. Disgraceful Decision’: Trump Press Secretary Blasts Biden’s Move To Block More Offshore Drilling- Daily Wire
President Joe Biden was blasted by incoming Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday after Bloomberg reported that the president plans to ban new offshore oil and gas developments in some areas of the U.S. coast “within days.”
Biden’s expected move comes after he has faced pressure from Democrats and left-wing environmentalists to block offshore drilling before President-elect Donald Trump takes over on January 20. Trump has promised to increase American energy production and make it easier for oil and gas companies to drill in U.S. waters and on American land. Leavitt vowed that Biden’s effort to block oil drilling would “fail” after Trump takes office.
“Joe Biden clearly wants high gas prices to be his legacy. 4. Democrat Delegate’s Mic Gets Cut After Going On Tirade Over US Territories Not Being Allowed To Vote For Speaker – Daily Caller
Democratic Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett disrupted the floor vote Friday as she raged about non-representatives not having the ability to vote for the next speaker.
Plaskett disrupted the speaker vote Friday to submit a “parliamentary inquiry” about U.S. territories not being called to vote for the speakership. The clerk explained that delegates-elect and the resident commissioner-elect are not eligible to vote for the speaker, and that only representatives-elect are qualified to cast a ballot.
“I note that the names of the representatives from the American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia were not called, representing collectively 4 million Americans,” Plaskett said. “Mr. Speaker, collectively the largest per capita of veterans in this country. I ask why they were not called.”

5. Congress Demands Answers from Treasury Department After Chinese Hacker Attack- Breitbart
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and Rep. French Hill (R-AR), vice chair of the House Financial Services Committee, on Thursday wrote to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen demanding more details of a cyberattack on Treasury’s computer systems allegedly perpetrated by hackers linked to the Chinese government.
“This breach of federal government information is extremely concerning. As you know, Treasury maintains some of the most highly sensitive information on U.S. persons throughout government, including tax information, business beneficial ownership, and suspicious activity reports,” Scott and Hill wrote to Yellen.
“This information must be vigilantly protected from theft or surveillance by our foreign adversaries, including the Chinese Communist Party, who seek to harm the United States,” they wrote.
“As such, the fact that a CCP-sponsored APT actor was able to access Treasury’s information systems is unacceptable and raises serious questions about the protocols for safeguarding sensitive federal government information from future cybersecurity incidents,” the letter concluded.
APT stands for Advanced Persistent Threat, which is standard cybersecurity nomenclature for hacker groups. On Monday, the Treasury Department revealed that Chinese state-sponsored hackers were able to penetrate several of its workstations, gaining access to unclassified documents.

6.‘Not Incredibly Popular’: Blue State Primed To Clear Cut Hundreds Of Acres Of Forest To Make Way For Solar Panels – Daily Caller
Michigan is poised to cut down hundreds of acres of forest in order to make space for a solar panel development, MLive reported Thursday.
The state will soon start competitive bidding on approximately 420 acres of forested land near Gaylord, Michigan, to clear space for a solar farm while generating revenue and advancing the state’s long-term green energy targets, according to MLive. There is some evidence suggesting that such a move would actually increase emissions, and Michigan is one of the least-sunny states in the country, according to analysis conducted by The Washington Post.
“Not incredibly popular with everyone,” Scott Whitcomb, the director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) public lands office, told MLive. “I will be frank about that.”

The Counting & Certification of Electoral Votes in Washington DC on Jan 6, 2025 Has Been Designated a National Special Security Event

This marks the first time a National Special Security Event designation has been granted for a Certification of Electoral Votes and follows a request made by the DC Mayor to designate this event a National Special Security Event. Various reports including from the House Select January 6 Committee and the Government Accountability Office also called for the DHS Secretary to consider a National Special Security Event designation for future Certification of Electoral Votes.
“National Special Security Events are events of the highest national significance,” said Eric Ranaghan, the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Service’s Dignitary Protective Division. “The U.S. Secret Service, in collaboration with our federal, state, and local partners are committed to developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated security plan to ensure the safety and security of this event and its participants.”

Scientists Discover Mystery Volcano That Cooled The Globe in 1831
|

In 1831, somewhere on Earth's surface, a portal to the underworld appeared.
A massive volcano opened wide its jaws and belched forth so much ash and smoke that the skies dimmed, cooling the Northern Hemisphere.
Crops failed. People starved. Yet for all the devastation, the volcano's location remained a mystery.
Now, through the careful analysis of ash from the eruption that had been trapped and preserved in the Greenland ice sheet, a team led by volcanologist William Hutchison of the University of St Andrews in the UK has found the culprit.
The world-changing event has at last been linked with the Zavaritskii volcano on Simushir of the Kuril Islands, an uninhibited strip of land barely 59 kilometers (37 miles) in length located between Russia and Japan.
Hutchison and his colleagues compared the chemistry of microscopic shards of ash extracted from Greenland ice cores with samples from the Zavaritskii caldera, and found a perfect match.
"Finding the match took a long time and required extensive collaboration with colleagues from Japan and Russia, who sent us samples collected from these remote volcanoes decades ago," Hutchison says.
"The moment in the lab when we analyzed the two ashes together, one from the volcano and one from the ice core, was a genuine eureka moment. I couldn't believe the numbers were identical. After this, I spent a lot of time delving into the age and size of the eruption in Kuril records to truly convince myself that the match was real." Read More
