Trump Promises to Bring Back Troops, Give Backpay to 8,000 Booted for Rejecting COVID Vaccine
Just minutes after returning to the Oval Office, President Trump promised to reinstate the more than 8,000 troops who were dismissed from the military for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, announcing that they would receive backpay for the period of their termination. According to military data, nearly 8,400 troops were expelled from the military after declining the vaccine, with the Marines making up around 3,700 of the dismissals. "This week, I will reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate with full back pay," Trump said during his swearing-in ceremony Monday. "And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty," he added. "It's going to end immediately. Our armed forces will be free to focus on their sole mission, defeating America's enemies."

The COVID-19 vaccine mandate for military members lasted from August 2021 to January 2023 with few exemptions for medical or religious reasons. The mandate was walked back when Biden signed a defense spending bill in December 2022. At that time, less than 1 percent of the military members who were dismissed due to the mandate were reinstated to their positions.  Lawmakers have criticized the Department of Defense for severely impacting military readiness because of the dismissals and have called for those individuals to be allowed to return to work.  Pentagon leaders have said the move did not hurt readiness or morale, according to a Military Times report.  Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers have already introduced legislation offering service members an opportunity to get their jobs back with back pay. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, and freshman Rep. Pat Harrigan, R-NC, introduced the AMERICANS Act, which bans the Pentagon from requiring additional COVID mandates without Congress' approval. - Abba we celebrate common-sense decisions and reinstatement of our previously dismissed military members, through wise congressional actions and President Trump's promise to "overhaul" the U.S. Military. We ask for Your wisdom as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth strives to bring realignment and restoration back into our nation's forces. May career military men and women who were forcibly dismissed from their place of service be fully restored from their loss. Pour Your favor upon every branch of our military bringing strength, warrior focus and brave courage as service men and women are honored for defending our nation. In the powerful Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Colombia to Accept All Deported Illegal Immigrants After Trump Tariff Threat: White House
The U.S. tariffs and sanctions were fully drafted but not yet signed, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

The United States has reached an agreement with Colombia, which will now accept all Colombian illegal immigrants being deported by the former country, including those on U.S. military planes, according to the White House.

“The Government of Colombia has agreed to all of President [Donald] Trump’s terms,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on social media platform X, “including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States, including on U.S. military aircraft, without limitation or delay.”

As an understanding has been reached, Leavitt said, the United States will hold in reserve the 25 percent tariffs that were announced by Trump earlier on Jan. 26, “unless Colombia fails to honor this agreement.” (The Epoch TImes) Read more here.

- We thank you, Lord, for strong leadership with the boldness to implement strong policies that is best for Americans and our country. Thank you, Lord, for showing us just how simple it really can be to take care of America first. We thank you, Lord, that through this new representative government, you will rebuild the economy back to a strong, prosperous land with opportunity for all! Amen.

- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Federal Government Launches Immigration Enforcement Operations in Chicago

Several federal agencies have launched immigration enforcement operations in Chicago this week following President Donald Trump’s promised crackdown on illegal immigration.

Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove visited Chicago on Jan. 26 to observe Department of Homeland Security immigration enforcement operations. He was also present in the nation’s third-largest city to support actions by several federal agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), according to Department of Justice spokesman Chad Gilmartin.

Details on the operations, including the number of arrests or locations, were not initially provided on Jan. 26. However, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a statement on X regarding the Chicago operations.

“[ICE], along with federal partners, including the FBI, ATF, DEA, CBP, and the U.S. Marshals Service, began conducting enhanced targeted operations today in Chicago to enforce U.S. immigration law and preserve public safety and national security by keeping potentially dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities,” the agency stated.

Trump has long promised to ramp up deportations and arrests for illegal immigrants if reelected. Since the president took office last week, several activist groups have responded with “know your rights” information campaigns to educate people who may be affected by the policy changes. City officials have also published similar information throughout hundreds of public transit locations. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Praise you, Lord, for your power moving about the city of Chicago! For too long have the people of Chicago been taken advantage of by those who broke the law and got things handed to them. We ask that you would fill all the citizens there with wisdom and strength on how to deal with these tough situations. We continue to pray for the leaders in that city that they would have an increase of wisdom and discernment as they govern their constituents, doing what’s best for them. Amen.

- “Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)

Federal Agencies Made Over $161 Billion in Improper Payments Last Year: Watchdog
An improper payment is one made by the government that ’should not have been made or was made in an incorrect amount,' according to the watchdog.

The U.S. government made billions of dollars worth of improper payments in the most recent fiscal year, with several agencies found to be non-compliant with regulations on the matter, according to a recent report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).

“Since fiscal year 2003, executive branch agencies have reported cumulative improper payment estimates of about $2.8 trillion, including $161.5 billion for fiscal year 2024,” the Jan. 23 report from the agency read.
The $161 billion is enough to buy over 380,000 homes in the United States, according to median home sales price data tracked by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. It is lower than the $236 billion in improper payments estimated to have been made by federal agencies in fiscal year 2023. Annual improper payments have remained above the $150 billion level since 2019.

The Payment Integrity Information Act of 2019 (PIIA) mandates that agencies identify risks related to improper payments and take corrective actions, while also reporting improper payments within the programs they administer.

GAO found that 10 agencies under the Chief Financial Officers Act were “noncompliant with PIIA criteria for fiscal year 2022.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God we thank you for bringing these improper payments to light. We pray that our leaders would choose to honor the finances that have been entrusted to them for our protection and well being, instead of using these funds to carry out their own  evil agendas. Help them, Lord. Give them wisdom and strength about how to better handle our taxpayer dollars, Jesus' name, amen.

- “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

The Hamas terror group on Saturday night failed to provide Israel with information on the status of hostages set for release in the coming weeks, in violation of the ceasefire-hostage deal in Gaza.

In addition, Israel said Hamas also broke the terms of the deal by failing to free civilian female hostage Arbel Yehoud before releasing female soldiers, four of whom were freed Saturday.

In response to Yehoud not being freed, Israel said it was delaying allowing displaced Palestinians to return to northern Gaza — which had been scheduled to begin on Saturday — until her release could be arranged. (Read more)

OSWIECIM, Poland, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Auschwitz survivors warned of the dangers of rising antisemitism on Monday, as they marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German death camp by Soviet troops in one of the last such gatherings of those who experienced its horrors.

The ceremony at the site of the camp, which Nazi Germany set up in occupied Poland during World War Two to murder European Jews on a huge scale, was attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Britain's King Charles, French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish President Andrzej Duda and many other leaders.

The Laken Riley Act (S. 5) successfully passed the U.S. Senate by a wide margin on Monday afternoon after President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Named after a Georgia nursing student murdered last February by an illegal immigrant who had previously been arrested for child endangerment and shoplifting, the bill enhances federal accountability and the enforcement of immigration laws. The bill is Congress’s first act to address the immigration crisis, in partnership with the new Trump administration. (Read more)

2. Only 1 day after signing the executive order, President Trump’s plans to end birthright citizenship are being challenged by blue states in courts across the nation. - IFA

From Reuters. Democratic-led states and civil rights groups filed a slew of lawsuits
challenging U.S. President Donald Trump’s bid to roll back birthright citizenship on Tuesday in an early bid by his opponents to block his agenda in court.

After his inauguration on Monday, Trump, a Republican, ordered U.S. agencies to refuse to
recognize the citizenship of children born in the U.S. if neither their mother or father is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. …

The lawsuits take aim at a central piece of Trump’s sweeping immigration crackdown. If allowed to stand, Trump’s order would for the first time deny more than 150,000 children born annually in the United States the right to citizenship, said the office of Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. (Read more)

“The PLO and PA Terror Payments Accountability Act will ensure those who finance and enable these horrific acts are held fully accountable,” he said. “By imposing tough sanctions on those behind these payments, we are delivering a clear and unwavering message: terrorism will not be tolerated or rewarded.”

The bill is the first of several pieces of legislation meant to strengthen America’s support for
Israel as it winds down more than a year of fighting with Hamas and Hezbollah.

The Senate is expected to soon take up legislation that would compel the U.S. government to refer to the ‘West Bank ‘ territory as “Judea and Samaria,” Israel’s official term for the region, according to congressional sources familiar with the effort. Government documents and communications have long referred to the territory as the ‘West Bank,’ undermining Israel’s historical ties to the region. LONDON (AP) — Emergency crews began cleaning up Saturday after a storm bearing record-breaking winds left at least one person dead and more than a million without power across the island of Ireland and Scotland.

Work was underway to remove hundreds of trees blocking roads and railway lines in the wake of the system, named Storm Éowyn (pronounced AY-oh-win) by weather authorities.

In Ireland, wind snapped telephone poles, ripped apart a Dublin ice rink and even toppled a giant wind turbine. A wind gust of 114 mph (183 kph) was recorded on the west coast, breaking a record set in 1945.

Consider What's in a Name

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, January 27, 2025

Have you ever considered what’s in a name? What does your name mean? Parents have many different ways in naming their children. Some are generational—naming after family members. Others look at it from a Biblical perspective—naming after people in the Bible they would hope their children will be like. Some name their kids after trends. But names have meaning. And we often turn out like our names. We named our youngest son Christian because we dedicated him to the Lord the night he was born and we wanted to make sure he never forgot who’s he was. My name, William, named after my grandfather, means strong willed and protector. And that I am. But what of the name that gives eternal life?

God has many names that describe His glorious attributes and how they were experienced. The Name El Shaddai is equated with God’s provision and sustenance in the lives of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Name YHVH (Yud-Hey-Vav-Hey [ADONAI, LORD]” (from Exodus 6:2-3)) appears to be a play on the Hebrew verb hayah (“to be”), indicating that God is hayah hoveh ve’yiyeh, the One who is, the One who was, and the One who will be, the King of the Universe and source of all being. In Exodus 6:2-9:35, the Name YHVH accompanies the revelation of the four verbs of redemption: “I will free…deliver…redeem…take you” and indicates the direct experience of YHVH’s power, glory, and compassion Read More

Donald Trump says he may consider rejoining World Health Organization
President Donald Trump said on Saturday he may consider rejoining the World Health Organization, days after ordering a U.S. exit from the global health agency over what he described as a mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic and other international health crises.

"Maybe we would consider doing it again, I don't know. Maybe we would. They would have to clean it up," Trump said at a rally in Las Vegas.

The U.S. is scheduled to leave the WHO on Jan. 22, 2026. Trump announced the move on Monday after he was sworn in for a second term in the White House. (India Times) Read more here.
- Father God, as members of Your ecclesia, we corporately offer prayers of repentance that our President has made this statement. Lord God, the history of the World Health Organization shows that it is pro-abortion, and funds many other initiatives that are contrary to Your Word. We ask that You visit President Trump in the night hours, and show him Your will in this vital matter. Let him stick to his original word, with no compromise, in Jesus' mighty name, amen and amen!

- " But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." (Matthew 5:37)

- IT IS WRITTEN: "In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction."

Senate confirms Scott Bessent as Trump's Treasury secretary

The U.S. Senate confirmed Scott Bessent Monday to serve as President Donald Trump’s Treasury secretary, making the longtime hedge fund manager the point person for the new administration on a host of key economic issues.

Bessent was confirmed by a vote of 68 to 29.

The new Treasury head's nomination drew sharp opposition from progressive Democrats, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., who both accused Bessent of flouting Treasury tax rules in floor speeches delivered in the minutes before the vote.

During his confirmation hearing, Bessent, 62, said extending the big tax cuts Trump pushed during his first administration would be his priority.

“This is pass-fail, that if we do not fix these tax cuts, if we do not renew and extend, then we will be facing an economic calamity,” he said.

Bessent also defended Trump’s push for tariffs after senators from both parties raised concerns. He opposed increasing the federal minimum wage and backed increased sanctions on Russia over the country's invasion of Ukraine.

And he said the Federal Reserve – which has drawn Trump’s ire with high interest rates used to tame inflation – should be independent of the president, while noting Trump will "make his views known.” (USA Today) Read more here.

- Abba, we thank You for continuing to put President Trump's Cabinet in place with the confirmation of Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.  We ask that Your warrior angels surround Mr. Bessent as he takes over very serious and important issues that impact our nation, keep him safe and those that he loves.  We ask Holy Spirit to guide and direct his thoughts and attitudes as he moves forward making big decisions.  Father God we ask for Your perfect will to be done in each of those decisions, bringing into reality all the promises we have received from You.  We ask You to put a hedge of angelic protection around Secretary Bessent, that he will walk in righteousness in all that he does.  We ask this in the name Yahweh Tsidkenu, The Lord Our Righteousness.

- "The Lord loves righteousness and justice;

National Guardsman Challenges ‘No Christian in Command’ Policy

A former Idaho National Guardsman is suing the Gem State after he was removed from command for expressing his biblical views on human sexuality.

Major David Worley of the Idaho Army National Guard and attorneys with Liberty Counsel filed a lawsuit last week, alleging that Worley was “unlawfully, unconstitutionally, and unconscionably subjected to investigation, discrimination, retaliation, and punishment for the simple exercise of his First Amendment rights … to exercise his sincerely held religious beliefs without fear of discriminatory reprisal from his chain of command.” According to the lawsuit, the discrimination against Worley is rooted in comments he made when campaigning for mayor of Pocatello and, later, for Idaho State Senate.

While campaigning, Worley expressed his opposition to drag queen story hours, pornographic material in public school libraries, and gender transition procedures for minors. Liberty Counsel noted in a press release, “All of Worley’s protected speech occurred off-duty in his private capacity and before he took command of the Idaho Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention unit.” In 2023, a fellow National Guardsman who identifies as homosexual filed a complaint against Worley, alleging that the major’s religious beliefs constituted discrimination.

The Idaho Army National Guard subsequently suspended Worley from command and “illegally pressured him to resign without benefit of any counsel or notice.” He was told that if he did not resign he would “face significant and life-altering disciplinary proceedings.” When Worley rescinded his resignation on the advice of counsel, the Idaho Army National Guard launched a formal investigation into the complaints against him. (The Washington Stand) Read more here.

- Mighty God, we pray for Your involvement in this lawsuit to bring complete victory and vindication to this Guardsman, the National Guard and the state of Idaho overall, in Jesus name.  We forgive the perpetrator of these accusations and ask You Jesus to allow him to encounter Godly righteousness that brings him to repentance, in Jesus name.  We pray for the governor of Idaho to stand up and defend the Constitutional rights of Idaho's citizens and not permit an ungodly agenda to overtake integrity and righteousness in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Enormous volcano that's a mile wide set to erupt this year as rumbling detected
The enormous 3,600ft-tall volcano - named the Axial Seamount - sits around 5,000ft below the surface of the Pacific Ocean and looks set to erupt before the end of 2025, according to US-based scientists

A huge underwater volcano off the coast of Oregon looks set to erupt before 2025 comes to an end.

Axial Seamount, a 3,600ft-tall volcano, sits almost 5,000ft under the surface of the Pacific Ocean is said to be rumbling, which scientists say indicates a swelling of magma. Experts say that the volcano could blow before the end of this year.

Yellowstone Volcano Observatory scientist Mike Poland is excited over the event as the Axial Seamount is one of the best researched underwater volcanoes in the world.

He said: "This particular volcano is probably the best-monitored submarine volcano in the world."

The volcano resembles the largest active volcano in the world, Mauna Loa. But thanks to its non-explosive nature, volcanologists are less concerned about the eruption.

"When Axial Seamount erupts, it'll look a lot like a Hawaiian lava flow eruption," he tolf Cowboy State Daily. "It's not an explosive eruption, but calm effusions of lava flowing out of the caldera and across the seafloor."

"Deep submarine eruptions are inhibited by the tremendous water pressure of the ocean," Poland said. "Even explosive eruptions struggle against the ocean." Read More
