Israeli Firefighters Join Efforts in CA Wildfire Response, Strengthening Global Alliances
A tangible sign of the U.S.-Israel friendship on display in southern California with the help of a special team of Israeli firefighters. As the Los Angeles wildfires started tearing through the city, the Israeli consulate there spearheaded an effort to bring in their experts. Now, a team from Israel has joined the army of 14,000 firefighters who have come together to help combat what could be the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. "We drove through those neighborhoods. There's nothing there," said Adi Zahavi, with the Israel Emergency Volunteers Project.

This team of 13 firefighters sees their contribution as a way to give back. "You guys always stood and stand next to Israel, behind Israel. Now it's time for Israel to come and stand behind you," Zahavi said. Israel Operations Officer, Li-Shay Amor, compared the fire destruction to Gaza and hopes her team can share best practices to ensure a fire of this magnitude never happens again. She explained, "I look at it and I said, 'Oh, my God, we must stop it. We must do everything we can to come and support you' because we cannot let it go like this. We must save our places, our home, our land." This group is not just firefighters—they are fire experts. Dr. Shay Levy wrote a book on wildfires and researches embers. (CBN) Watch Video

- Father, we ask for Your hedge of protection upon each courageous Israeli firefighter willingly serving alongside our fireman in California. We lift praise for friendship and the spiritual covenant between Israel and the United States of America and pray continual strengthening as 'battles of darkness' are won together. Bless and protect the precious people and Land of Israel. We proclaim victory in extinguishing every fire in California and declare Your restoration for all that the enemy has stolen!  May Your faithful rescue and glorious shalom fall upon both nations, as we lift high the Name Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is our Banner- Amen and Amen.

- "But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble" (Psalm 59:16)

Senate Confirms Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary After Hard-Won Fight

The Senate confirmed Pete Hegseth as defense secretary on Friday evening 51-50 with Vice President JD Vance breaking the tie vote.

The vote came down on a party line, with Republican Sens. Susan Collins (ME), Mitch McConnell (KY), and Lisa Murkowski (AK) defecting.

It was a long, hard-won fight against Democrats and a coordinated smear campaign facilitated by mainstream media outlets. At one point early on, his nomination appeared doomed, with several key Republicans expressing doubts.

However, the combat veteran and former Fox News host launched his own campaign, spending weeks on Capitol Hill meeting with Republican senators and discussing their concerns.

Hegseth also met with Democrat senators as well, although they made it clear they opposed his nomination from the get-go.

Democrats also tried to tank his nomination in a last-ditch effort by circulating an affidavit from an estranged former sister-in-law who alleged that Hegseth had abused his ex-wife, Samantha Deering. (Breitbart) Read more

- Father, we thank You for this confirmation of a strong Christian.  We ask that You guide him and grant him Your wisdom, as well as reveal to him what the DoD needs that would help the US Military protect our homeland. We bind all backlash, lies, and any plans to cause problems during his tenure as Secretary of Defense.

- “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5)

Senate Confirmes Kristi Noem as Trump's Dept of Homeland Security Secretary

The Senate on Saturday voted to confirm South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, making her the fourth of President Donald Trump’s nominees to win approval from the chamber.

The vote was 59–34, with all Republicans present voting yes. Noem had been expected to be confirmed comfortably, having faced no significant issues during her confirmation hearing. Her nomination advanced out of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee by a vote of 13–2. Only two Democrats voted against her.

Noem becomes the fourth of President Donald Trump's picks to be confirmed, behind Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. (Fox News) Read more

- Lord, we praise You for confirming Kristi Noem and ask that You also grant her wisdom and truth.  Let only Your will be accomplished  throughout her tenure. We pray for a secure border and the granting of safety for all of Your people.

- “But whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.”  (Proverbs 1:33)

Trump DOJ Rolls Back Biden's Aggressive Prosecution of       Pro-Lifers

The Department of Justice is rolling back President Joe Biden’s aggressive prosecution of the FACE Act, saying his administration weaponized the law against pro-life protesters.

A new memo from President Donald Trump’s DOJ says that the department will only prosecute the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act in cases of extreme violence. Under Biden, FACE was successfully paired with a felony conspiracy charge to lock up nearly a dozen peaceful pro-life protesters.

“President Trump campaigned on the promise of ending the weaponization of the federal government and has recently directed all federal departments and agencies to identify and correct the past weaponization of law enforcement,” the memo from DOJ Chief of Staff Chad Mizelle said.

FACE was originally passed in 1994 with the supposed intent to protect abortion facilities, churches, and pregnancy care centers from violence. However, data obtained by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) shows that 97% of cases have been brought against pro-lifers, despite increasing attacks against churches after the end of Roe v. Wade.

The memo said that the DOJ would only prosecute FACE under “extraordinary circumstances” or in instances related to “death, serious bodily harm, or serious property damage.”

“Cases not presenting significant aggravating factors can adequately be addressed under state or local law,” the memo said. “Additionally, until further notice, no new abortion-related FACE Act actions — criminal or civil — will be permitted without authorization from the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division.” (Daily Wire) Read more

- Lord, as the purpose of the DOJ went so far astray from its original mandate, we thank You that it is being brought back to sanity. We pray that all of President Trump’s cabinet members will call upon You for guidance in all that they will do.

- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”     (Proverbs 3:5-6)

1. Backing Israeli plan to remain in Lebanon, White House calls for ‘short, temporary extension’ of IDF withdrawal - Times of Israel

The White House calls for a “short, temporary extension” to the 60-day deadline for Israel to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon as part of the ceasefire reached in November with Lebanon.

The 60-day deadline is slated to expire on Sunday.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel would not complete its withdrawal in time which will violate the terms of the ceasefire.

Appearing to back Netanyahu’s stance, the White House says, “President Trump is committed to ensuring Israeli citizens can safely return to their homes in northern Israel, while also supporting President Aoun and the new Lebanese government.” (Read more)

2. 15 dead in clashes near Israel, Lebanon border - World Israel News

At least 15 people were killed and dozens more wounded after clashes broke out between Israeli forces and Lebanese civilians and soldiers in southern Lebanon Sunday morning.

Thousands of Lebanese approached IDF soldiers stationed across southern Lebanon Sunday, anticipating the withdrawal of Israeli forces as part of the November 2024 ceasefire deal between Israel and Hezbollah.

Earlier, however, Israel announced that given the recent discoveries of Hezbollah weapons caches near the Israeli border, the continued presence of Hezbollah forces south of the Litani River, and the failure of the Lebanese Army to assume full military control over the country – all violations of the ceasefire deal – the IDF would remain in southern Lebanon beyond the January 26th deadline. 3. IDF troops in south Lebanon operate against Hezbollah supporters - Jerusalem Post

After a vehicle displaying Hezbollah flags approached troops operating in southern Lebanon, IDF soldiers operated in order to remove the threat, the military announced Sunday.

Additionally, the IDF fired warning shots to disperse dozens of rioters, causing them to retreat.

The IDF said they are determined to continue operating in accordance with the agreement between Israel and Lebanon, despite Hezbollah's attempts to reestablish a presence in southern Lebanon. (Read more)

4. Netanyahu Doubles Down on Halting Gazans Returning North Till Hostage Released - World Israel News

i24 News – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu doubled down on his decision not to let Gazan residents cross into the northern Gaza Strip until Israeli civilian Arbel Yehud is released from captivity, an official told i24NEWS.

The Israel Defense Forces Arabic spokesperson, Colonel Avichay Adraee, issued an urgent announcement to Gazans on Sunday that warned them not to attempt to travel north of the Netzarim Corridor to reach their homes in the northern Gaza Strip.

Despite the ceasefire agreement stipulating that Israel would allow passage of residents, Hamas was supposed to release Israeli civilian Arbel Yehud on Saturday.

The statement was issued “with the aim of preventing friction and misunderstanding in light of Hamas’s breach of the ceasefire agreement,” Adraee said. (Read more)

5. Hamas has reportedly recruited up to 15,000 new terrorists since Oct. 7 - i24 News

Hamas has allegedly recruited between 10,000 and 15,000 new members since the war against Israel began, according to US congressional sources citing intelligence reports.

This recruitment drive is viewed as a strategy to compensate for the group's heavy losses, despite the ongoing devastation in Gaza.

The reported recruitment figures align closely with the estimated number of Hamas fighters killed during the conflict. Israeli assessments suggest that approximately 20,000 Hamas operatives have been neutralized since hostilities began. (Read more)

1. Trump DOJ asks Supreme Court to freeze student debt, environment cases - Fox News

President Donald Trump's Justice Department on Friday asked the Supreme Court to freeze a handful of cases, including a challenge to one of former President Biden's student loan bailouts.
Acting Solicitor General Sarah Harris filed several motions Friday asking the court to halt proceedings in the student loan case and three environmental cases while the new administration will "reassess the basis for and soundness" of Biden's policies.
The Supreme Court was expected to hear oral arguments for these cases in March or April and issue decisions later this term. But Trump's DOJ requested that the high court halt all written brief deadlines, which would put them on indefinite hold.
Under former President Joe Biden, more than 5 million Americans had their student debt canceled through actions taken by the Department of Education. But Biden's actions faced numerous legal challenges, with GOP critics alleging he went beyond the scope of his authority by acting without Congress.
In this case, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals had blocked the Biden administration's borrower defense rule, which would have expanded student debt relief for borrowers who were defrauded by their schools. The court found that Biden's rule had "numerous statutory and regulatory shortcomings." Biden appealed to the Supreme Court, which agreed to hear the case earlier this month. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that Your will prevail over all of these programs and actions. We pray that this reassessment will bring wise and logical answers to leftover problems faced by the Trump administration, and that all who review them find Your guidance.

- “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalm 32:8)

2. EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Luna Calls Out ‘Nefarious Actors’ Trying To Tank RFK Jr.’s Confirmation - Daily Caller

Republican Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is sounding the alarm about corporate interests threatening to tank Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination to serve as President Donald Trump’s Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary.

With Kennedy facing two confirmation hearings next week, the prospective HHS secretary’s confirmation is uncertain due to a number of GOP holdouts who are thus far noncommittal. Luna, who supports Kennedy’s nomination and has been a driving force behind Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) priorities in Congress, is warning that senators will face immense pressure from large corporations profiting off the country’s chronic disease crises to oppose Kennedy’s nomination.

“I do believe that there are nefarious actors within the agriculture and food industries that are going to start putting financial top-down pressure on some of these senators in an effort to block his confirmation because they’re making a lot of money on making people sick, Luna, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, told the DCNF. “[Opposing Kennedy’s nomination] would signify that they’re corporate shills that have no invested interest in keeping our people healthy but sick for their own personal gain and interest.”

“There’s a lot of good people here in Washington, but there’s also a lot of bad people that I think are more controlled by corporations,” Luna added. Read more

- Lord, we bind all plans of the enemy against RFK. We cover him with Your Blood for protection and pray for a move of Your Holy Spirit to bring love and truth to his mind and heart. Help him to fill his life with Your Presence, always seeking Your face.

3. Trump Will Waive Federal Permitting Requirements for L.A. to Rebuild, Implores Mayor Karen Bass to Do Same - Breitbart

President Donald Trump intends to waive virtually all federal permitting requirements to expedite the rapid rebuilding of infrastructure destroyed by the wildfires in Los Angeles County in recent weeks. He is calling on local officials to do the same.

Trump detailed his plan during a roundtable with local officials in the county after touring areas singed by numerous fires, which have claimed at least 28 lives and destroyed more than 16,000 structures, according to Cal Fire.

“I also had the concept of getting some of the best developers in the country; I’ve had so many calls from developers, and they want to come in–they don’t want anything–they just want to come in and help,” Trump said. “And they really know how to get things done and get things built.”

“We’re going to waive… essentially waive, all federal permits. We’re going to have you go very quickly, because the federal permit can take 10 years. We’re not going to do that… We don’t want to take 10 days,” he added to applause.

Trump will also declare the calamity a national emergency. Read more

- Lord, we ask that You guard our President as he seeks to help Americans who have been victims of horrific disasters. We bind the enemy of his soul from destroying that assistance. We pray that California and North Carolina, as well as any other states will also move to help the victims to be restored.

- “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1 Peter 5:10)

4. Trump’s CIA Director John Ratcliffe: John Brennan’s ‘Tenure One of Worst Things That Ever Happened to Agency,’ Need to Depoliticize Intelligence - Breitbart

President Donald Trump’s newly confirmed Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director, John Ratcliffe, told Breitbart News exclusively that he views his mission as restoring the world’s most preeminent intelligence agency to its core primary objectives and undoing the lasting damage that one of his predecessors, John Brennan, did to the CIA.

“It would be fair to say his tenure was one of the worst things that has ever happened to the Agency,” Ratcliffe told Breitbart News of Brennan on Thursday in his first interview as CIA director.

Ratcliffe, who served as Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in Trump’s first term, was just confirmed Thursday afternoon as Trump’s new director of the CIA and sworn in shortly thereafter. He sat for his interview as CIA director on Thursday with Breitbart News, a broad and wide-ranging conversation that focused on the challenges that face the Intelligence Community (IC) as a whole, the CIA in particular, and how he views his role in terms of helping Trump execute his agenda. Ratcliffe also covered several major world theaters, from China to Russia to the Middle East, in this interview. But his very harsh criticism of Brennan, whose security clearance was just revoked by Trump along with the other 51 intelligence officials who falsely claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was a product of Russian disinformation, is sure to make major news and marks a totally new era being ushered in at the CIA. Read more

- Lord, we pray that politicization will no longer be a factor in any actions by intelligence agencies or any agencies. We bind the bias they have exhibited and ask that Your Spirit move over them to repent.

- “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

5.  Up to 250,000 children born to illegal migrants in 2023: preliminary report - Fox News

The birthright citizenship debate exploded back into the national discourse this week after President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning it.

Trump's ban was slated to take effect on Feb. 19, but a federal judge in Seattle on Thursday temporarily blocked the order. Some experts believe the issue will eventually be settled by the Supreme Court.

Should the ban eventually go into force, it would likely impact tens of thousands of children born to the parents of illegal immigrants.

The Center for Immigration Studies, a non-profit research organization that focuses on immigration, said Friday that based on its preliminary findings, there were between 225,000 to 250,000 U.S. births to illegal immigrants in 2023, which accounts for about 7% of total births in the U.S. that year.

To put the figure into context, the group says those figures are greater than the total number of births in all but two states taken individually. Read more

- Father, as the debate over birthright citizenship comes front and center, we pray that wisdom will cover all the courts that will hear this case. Let all judges involved actually see and understand that the original intent of this provision has been severely undermined, so that their rulings will be righteous.

- “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)

6. Trump Tells Vegas Supporters He will terminate the 88,000 IRS Agents...Or Maybe We will Move Them to the Border - The Gateway Pundit

President Trump held a rally today at the Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada to cap off his first week in office.

Trump wanted to thank supporters for turning out in historic numbers on November 5, 2024. President Trump took swing state Nevada for the first time in his three campaigns for US President.

Trump focused on his successes in his first week, especially with regard to southern border policy.

President Trump also announced his “no tax on tips” plan. He then went even further and suggested he might end the federal income tax and use money from tariffs instead.

During his speech, President Trump also addressed the 87,000+ new IRS agents that Joe Biden and Democrats hired to badger middle class and working class Americans.

Trump said he might send them to the border.

Hamas Releases Four More Hostages
Joy for four captives, but Hamas keeps civilian woman in Gaza

Four female IDF soldiers reunited with their families in Israel on Saturday after surviving 477 days in Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip.

Footage released from the long-awaited reunion at the army’s Re’im Camp in the western Negev showed the elated parents embracing their daughters with relief and tears.

Following a medical inspection, the IDF confirmed that Liri Albag, 19, Karina Ariev, 20, Daniella Gilboa, 20, and Naama Levy, 20, were all in good health.

“Mother, you’re a lioness,” Gilboa told her mother. “She traveled the whole world for you,” her father added, to which the mother said, “You know I would do anything for you.”

. . .

The former captives were flown by helicopter together with their parents to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah, near Tel Aviv, where they underwent further medical examinations. They were greeted by scores of Israelis who waited for their landing near the hospital’s helipad.

Dr. Hagar Mizrahi, head of the Medical Division in the Health Ministry, was quoted by Ynet as saying, “Today, we are meeting Liri, Daniela, Naama and Karina after 477 days in captivity. This is an unimaginable reality. … We are prepared to handle any medical condition that may arise.”

Mizrahi added that this was “an emotionally and medically complex event, for the returnees, their families, the families of all captives, and the entire nation of Israel. Alongside the excitement and the sense that the returnees are an inseparable part of their families, we ask everyone to respect their privacy and preserve their dignity.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu greeted the returnees on X, saying, “Welcome home! Together with all of Israel, my wife and I embrace you with all our hearts!”

The White House on Saturday called for the release of all 87 remaining hostages held in Gaza.

“Today the world celebrates as President [Donald] Trump secured the release of four more Israeli hostages who were, for far too long, held against their will by Hamas in horrific conditions. The United States will continue with its great partner Israel to push for the release of all remaining hostages and the pursuit of peace throughout the region,” the White House said.

(JNS.org) Read more here, including statements by hostage families.

- Father God, we praise You with great joy to know that four more of the hostages have now been released, and that the IDF has indicated that each of these precious young women seems to be in good health.

Holy God, we thank You that our president has demanded that all of the remaining 87 hostages now be released, too, as the Trump administration continues to negotiate for their release. We ask for their deliverance, O Lord, in Your Holy Name, amen.

State Department Issues Immediate Pause for Nearly All US Foreign Aid

The Trump administration has suspended all existing foreign aid for 90 days pending review with exceptions for Israel and Egypt, according to a State Department cable leaked on Friday.

The cable, authored by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and sent to all U.S. diplomatic and consular posts around the world, was obtained by multiple media outlets.

The new guidance expands on an executive order issued by Trump following his inauguration blocking all "new obligations and disbursements" of foreign aid to countries, nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, and contractors for 90 days pending review.

The new guidance orders all State Department personnel to "ensure that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, no new obligations shall be made for foreign assistance" until the administration can carry out a review over the upcoming 85 days. (MSN.com) Read more

_Lord, we thank You that these reviews will reveal any foreign aid that is detrimental to the United States. Let all who go through these aid programs have the mind of Christ, and may they listen carefully for Your Voice.

- “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”  (Isaiah 30:21)

Trump Vows Answers to Mystery Drone SIghtings
Trump vows answers on mystery drone sightings as expert makes eerie prediction

An influx of unexplained drone sightings in parts of the United States began to make headlines in November, and although authorities have said there is no evidence that the drones are a threat to national security or public safety, experts explain the mystery behind the uptick in sightings.

Fox News' Peter Doocy questioned President Donald Trump about the drones on Monday, asking, "Anything with these drones — is it anything to be worried about?"

"I would like to find out what it is and tell the people. In fact, I’d like to do that," Trump responded. He then redirected to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. "Could we find out what that was, Susie? Why don’t we find out immediately?"

"I can’t imagine it’s an enemy, or there would have been, you know, people would have gotten blown up, all of them. Maybe they were testing things. I don’t know why. They wouldn’t have said what it was," Trump said. "They had a lot of them flying over Bedminster, which is interesting," referring to his club in New Jersey. (Fox News) Read more here.

- Father God, we thank You that we now have a President who will choose to investigate this potentially dangerous issue, rather than ignore it.  We ask Your help for all those who will be looking into the cause of these drone sightings, so that an accurate assessment can be made and the public's questions about this matter can be answered.

Major storm lashes Ireland and Scotland as hurricane-force winds down power lines and ground flights
LONDON (AP) — Millions of people in Ireland and northern parts of the U.K. heeded the advice of authorities to stay at home Friday in the face of hurricane-force winds that disabled power networks and brought widespread travel disruptions.

Forecasters had issued a rare “red” weather warning, meaning danger to life, across the whole island of Ireland and central and southwest Scotland.

Ireland bore the brunt of the storm first, as it was hit with wind gusts of 114 mph (183 kph), the strongest since World War II, as a winter storm spiraled in from the Atlantic before hitting Scotland.

A man died after a tree fell on his car in County Donegal in the northwest of Ireland, local police said.

The storm was moving fast and is expected to have cleared Scotland's shores by late Friday.

City centers, such as Dublin in Ireland, Belfast in Northern Ireland and Glasgow in Scotland were eerily quiet, much like the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, as shops stayed closed and people heeded the advice to not venture out. For those that did leave home and were caught in one of the wind gusts, it was a struggle to stay upright.
