Report: DOJ Weighs Searching More Locations for Biden Classified Docs
|
|
The Justice Department (DOJ) is reportedly considering launching additional searches for classified documents at more locations linked to President Joe Biden, CBS News reported Sunday.
The potential for additional searches comes as the DOJ scoured Biden’s Wilmington residence Friday and found six more items consisting of with classified marking, according to Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer. The content of the classified materials is unknown.
Bauer claimed Saturday that Biden offered to allow the FBI to conduct the search led by the DOJ. It is unclear if Biden has offered to permit the DOJ to conduct further searches at separate locations linked to Biden.
The White House had previously claimed on January 14 that all searches for all classified documents were completed. (Breitbart) Read more.

Gingrich says level of corruption in DOJ and FBI 'unprecedented in American history'
|
|
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich slammed the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as having levels of corruption "unprecedented in American history."
Gingrich criticized the agencies when discussing the handling of the Hunter Biden investigation and probes against President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump regarding the alleged mishandling of classified documents.
"We have in the Justice Department and the FBI a level of corruption unprecedented in American history at the most senior levels. Not the average, everyday worker, but at the senior levels — the corruption’s there. It’s been there at least since the middle of the George W. Bush Administration. It has gotten sicker and sicker," Gingrich told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Channel's Sunday Morning Features. "They have total contempt for the rule of law, they have total contempt for the news media."
Gingrich pressed on his belief that corruption is the reason for disparate treatment of Hunter Biden from most individuals in his position.
"You see it with Hunter. You know, the fact is Hunter Biden was a drug addict doing business with Russia and China while advising his father on where to send secret documents. Can ask yourself, could it get weirder than that," Gingrich asked.

A State Department official dodged questions about the risk to Americans created by the agency’s decision to let U.S. residents select foreigners for the huge prize of refugee status, green cards, and then citizenship in just six years.
“Do you have any safeguards for Americans?” Breitbart News asked as Assistant Secretary of State Julieta Valls Noyes walked out of a very short June 19 briefing on the legally questionable “Welcome Corps” program.
She claimed there would be protections but exited without providing any details.

1. Coalition heads warn AG that moves to suspend Netanyahu are tantamount to a coup - Times of Israel
The heads of the coalition send a scathing letter to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara over reports she is close to ordering Benjamin Netanyahu to take a leave of absence as prime minister, warning her that such a move is tantamount to a coup.
Baharav-Miara is reportedly discussing the prospect on the grounds that Netanyahu’s government’s plans to overhaul the judiciary amount to a breach of conflict of interest rules that bar him from involvement in matters that might impact his ongoing criminal trial for corruption.
“Recently, several news items were published in the media according to which you are holding discussions regarding the possibility of compelling the Prime Minister of Israel to ‘take a leave of absence.’ To our astonishment, you have not denied these reports until now,” says the letter. (Read more)

2. Ben-Gvir answers Lapid: I'm fixing the damage you left behind - Israel National News
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded to the criticism leveled at him by opposition leader Yair Lapid in the Knesset plenum, when he claimed that Ben-Gvir is not living up to his promise to fight violence and crime.
Ben-Gvir replied: "[My predecessor] Omer Barlev neglected national security during his term, left non-functioning police stations, thousands of police officers who retired because of the bad conditions, protection rackets in the north, crime and violence in the south, zero police presence and Jewish children who are afraid to go to the Western Wall because they will have stones and Mototov Cocktails thrown at them, just because they are Jewish."
"I didn't come to put a Band-Aid [over the problems] and to put on the shows that the previous government made. I came to lead a change and a deep change from the root [of the problems]. 3. After outpost demolished, Ben-Gvir calls for law to be applied equally to illegal Arab structures - World Israel News
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir demanded on Sunday that laws be applied equally to Israelis and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria.
His remarks came after an outpost erected to commemorate Rabbi Haim Druckman, the spiritual leader of the religious Zionism movement and who died in late December, was evacuated on Friday.
“I believe in the rule of law but there cannot be one law for Arabs and one law for Jews. The law should also be enforced on Khan al-Ahmar and dozens of illegal Arab outposts,” said Ben-Gvir.
He circulated a document during Sunday’s Cabinet meeting outlining illegal structures built by Arabs in Judea and Samaria over the past month and demanded that they also be destroyed. (Read more)

4. Blinken to visit Israel next week, in second trip by senior US official this month - Times of Israel
WASHINGTON — US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Israel and the West Bank next week for meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leadership, a Palestinian official said Monday.
Blinken is slated to hold meetings in Israel on Monday before traveling to the West Bank on Tuesday to sit down with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his top aides, the official told The Times of Israel Monday.
The timeline for the trip was first reported by Haaretz. A US official confirmed Blinken’s travel plans to The Times of Israel earlier this month, but without a date. (Read more)

5. Hezbollah Built 20-Plus Posts Along Border with Israel - Algemeiner
JNS.org – The Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization has built more than 20 observation and guard posts along the Israel-Lebanon border over the past year.
According to U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War between the IDF and Hezbollah, the terrorist group is forbidden from operating near the frontier.
Hezbollah launched the project in parallel to Israel’s construction of a fortified perimeter fence along the 140-kilometer shared border, Ynet reported on Monday. (Read more)

1. House Oversight Chair Says ‘Americans Would Be Shocked’ By Biden Family Ties To China | The Daily Caller
Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky said Sunday that “connections” between China’s ruling party and the Biden family present serious concerns amid Biden’s document scandal.
“I think most Americans would be shocked if they saw how many connections the Biden family has to people directly affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party,” Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo. “It’s very startling.”
“I took the president at his word when the first set of documents were found at the Biden Center for Diplomacy that he had just inadvertently misplaced those documents,” Comer said. “But now this has gone from being irresponsible to downright scary. This has all the pattern of an influence-peddling scheme and, you know, it also has the makings of a potential cover-up. I mean, five different locations at least?”

2. Here’s How Long It Will Take To Replenish US Weapons Stocks Sent To Ukraine | The Daily Caller
Even at emergency production rates, it will take several years before the U.S. is able to restock supplies of critical munitions sent to Ukraine, according to a recent analysis conducted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a Washington, D.C. based think tank.
The U.S. has sent millions of rounds of ammunition of various kinds to Ukraine, according to a Thursday fact sheet from the Department of Defense (DOD), which has resulted in severe deficits in some cases. Only one of the six weapons where stockpiles have fallen dangerously low is projected to reach normal levels within five years, assuming no further deliveries to Ukraine, leaving the U.S. scrambling for alternatives, Mark Cancian, a former artillery officer and Pentagon acquisition official, found in a report published in CSIS.
“Longer term, there will be some competition between Taiwan’s needs and rebuilding US stockpiles,” Cancian told the Daily Caller News Foundation, as the U.S. pledges to help the island fend off Chinese aggression. “That’s why increased munitions production is so important.”

3. Voting Firm Stored Election Data In China, Whistleblower Alleges | The Daily Caller
A Michigan-based election infrastructure firm stored poll workers’ private data in China, a new whistleblower complaint obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation says, matching earlier allegations against the company and CEO Eugene Yu.
Grant Bradley, a former employee at Konnech, a software firm that provides logistics for poll stations at 32 locations across the U.S., also said that the company’s “developers, designers and coders are all Chinese nationals based out of Wuhan, China,” in the complaint, which was first disclosed by the Federalist on Friday and filed in Michigan court on Dec. 22, shows. Bradley claimed to witness information of poll watchers “being made accessible” to individuals in China but did not comprehend the extent of the data routed through China until True the Vote, an election integrity advocacy organization, lodged allegations in 2021.
“Even Konnech employees who have seen evidence of wrongdoing are acting to tell their story,” True the Vote told the DCNF.

4. Ex-White House COVID Czar To Become Biden’s New Chief Of Staff | The Daily Caller
Jeff Zients, who led the COVID-19 response effort for President Joe Biden’s administration, will reportedly become the White House chief of staff, CNN first reported.
The current chief of staff, Ron Klain, is expected to step down from his position around Feb. 7 when the State of the Union address is held. This move arose as the president faces scrutiny over the discovery of classified documents in his private office and home.
Zients stepped down as the COVID-19 coordinator in April and was replaced by Dr. Ashish Jha, the Dean of the Brown University School of Public Health. His departure occurred after the administration and federal government shifted away from pandemic policy and messaging.
He returned to the White House in the fall to assist Klain after staff departed the administration after the midterm elections, the Washington Post reported. He assigned a variety of tasks to Zients in recent weeks to possibly prepare him for taking on the new leadership role.
The reported upcoming chief of staff served in high-ranking positions in former President Barack Obama’s administration and has spent most of his life in the private sector, the Post reported.

5. Terror Watch List Arrests At Southern Border Soar Under Biden Administration | The Daily Wire
The number of people on the nation’s terror watch list who have been arrested at the southern border has soared under the Biden administration, according to a new report.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data jumped from just three arrests of individuals from the list at the border in 2020 to nearly 100 in 2022.
In 2023, a total of 38 individuals on the terror watch list have been arrested already at the southern border, pacing ahead of last’s year high of 98.

Alleged far-left activists rioted in downtown Atlanta Saturday night in what started out as a protest over the death of a local activist.
Fox 5 reported that the protests turned into a riot when the activists “began throwing bricks at buildings and setting fire to police vehicles.”

7. 10 Dead, 10 Wounded In California Mass Shooting | The Daily Wire
At least ten people are dead, and ten more are hospitalized after a mass shooting during a Lunar New Year Celebration in a Los Angeles suburb late Saturday night.
The shooting occurred in a dance studio in Monterey Park, a predominately Asian community about ten miles east of L.A. The gunman has not been identified or located, and the motive is unclear, police say. Law enforcement was dispatched at 10:22 p.m. Saturday after the shooter, who police say is a male, fled.
“When officers arrived on scene, they observed numerous individuals, patrons … pouring out of the location, screaming. The officers made entry to the location and located additional victims,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Captain Andrew Meyer said.
Meyer said that ten of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters, and ten more were taken to a hospital and are in stable to critical conditions. One man who lives near the dance studio told the Los Angeles Times that his friend was in the bathroom during the shooting, and when she came out, she saw three bodies and a gunman. His friend said the killer appeared to be firing at random with a long gun, according to the Los Angeles Times.

8. Joe Manchin says it's a 'mistake' for White House to want Democrats to address debt ceiling without GOP | CNN Politics
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia said Sunday that it’s a “mistake” for the White House to want Democrats to deal with the debt ceiling without negotiating with congressional Republicans.
“I think it’s a mistake because we have to negotiate. This is a democracy that we have. We have a two-party system, if you will, and we should be able to talk and find out where our differences are. And if they are irreconcilable, then you have to move on from there and let people make their decisions,” Manchin, a key Senate moderate, told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”
“Using the debt ceiling and holding it hostage hasn’t worked in the past,” Manchin continued, adding that he “respectfully” disagrees with his party’s No. 2 Democrat in the chamber, Majority Whip Dick Durbin, on not negotiating with Republicans.
“Every American has to live within a budget. If they don’t, they’re in trouble financially. Every business that’s successful has to live within a budget. Every state has to live within a budget. Shouldn’t the federal government have some guardrails that, say, ‘Hey, guys … you’re overreaching here and you’re overspending?’ But then pick your priorities. That’s all,” he added.
The US hit the debt ceiling set by Congress on Thursday, forcing the Treasury Department to start taking “extraordinary measures” to keep the government paying its bills and escalating pressure on Capitol Hill to avoid a catastrophic default.

9. Russia's Wagner chief writes to White House over new US sanctions - The Jerusalem Post (jpost.com)
The head of the Russian private military contractor Wagner published on Saturday a short letter to the White House asking what crime his company was accused of, after Washington announced new sanctions on the group.
White House national security spokesperson John Kirby said on Friday that Wagner, which has been supporting Russian forces in their invasion of Ukraine and claiming credit for battlefield advances, would be designated a significant Transnational Criminal Organization.
A letter in English addressed to Kirby and posted on the Telegram channel of Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin's press service read: "Dear Mr Kirby, Could you please clarify what crime was committed by PMC Wagner?"

10. McCarthy accepts White House meeting with Biden, takes shot at 'irresponsible' spending | Washington Examiner
Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has agreed to sit down with President Joe Biden after the White House said it would soon host the House speaker for a meeting.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would not specify if the sit-down would focus on the debt ceiling, as McCarthy has requested, in Friday's press briefing, but the Republican framed the talks that way in a tweet agreeing to the meeting.
"President Biden: I accept your invitation to sit down and discuss a responsible debt ceiling increase to address irresponsible government spending," he said Friday. "I look forward to our meeting."
McCarthy has repeatedly called for the White House to negotiate with Congress on the debt ceiling as the California Republican faces pressure from conservatives to push for substantial spending reforms.
Earlier in the day, Biden indicated he planned to huddle with McCarthy but said they should not “confuse the national debt with debt reduction on a yearly basis."

One of the main areas that the World Economic Forum (WEF) focused on during its recent annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland was what they call health equity. Justifying a call for worldwide socialized medicine, WEF posted on its website: “Health inequities–gaps between the health of different groups–have long characterized global health. The persistence of these inequities reflects an urgent need to close the health gaps that threaten our progress on health.” WEF identifies these gaps as food, housing, safety, clean air and water, income and personal wealth. WEF seeks to close these gaps through a “collective” partnership between governments and corporations—in short–Communism.
It’s communism rebranded with humanitarian and profit-motivating words. WEF calls for “mobilizing collective action around building a healthier world and by generating the knowledge base that supports such efforts…If corporate influence is aligned with the interests of health equity, it can dramatically scale up our capacity to promote health globally. Where the reach of public policy can be constrained by national borders and the complexities of domestic politics, corporate policy can act nimbly, innovate on the fly and onboard new approaches in pursuit of health equity.” WEF goes on to suggest that corporations and banks could pledge to not support companies that do not align with the goals of health equity. Car-size laser deflects lightning atop a mountain in Switzerland
|

Scientists decided to test if a laser beam pointed at the sky could act like one big virtual and movable lightning rod.
(CNN) -- Scientists were able to create a virtual lightning rod using a large, powerful laser atop a mountain in Switzerland, successfully diverting the path of lightning strikes.
Lightning deflection technology hasn't changed much since Ben Franklin invented the lightning rod in 1752. The Franklin rod, or a pointed metal mast on top of buildings and other structures vulnerable to lightning strikes, works by intercepting lightning and guiding the strikes safely to the ground.
But the protection zone of Franklin rods is relative to their height — a lightning rod with a height of 10 meters (32.8 feet) protects an area with a 10-meter radius.
Since the height of lightning rods isn't infinite, broad ranges such as airports, launchpads, power stations, wind farms and nuclear power plants pose a challenge. Lightning causes up to 24,000 deaths a year and can cause power cuts, forest fires and damage infrastructure, according to a study detailing the findings published Monday in the journal Nature Photonics. 'Pastor Story Hour' Wins Big Victory Against Discriminating Library

The last few years have shown that the American Library Association is dead-set against Christian and conservative values. With the association's embracing of drag story hours for children and DEI initiatives, while constantly cancelling biblically based alternatives, the ALA have shown that they will go to any lengths to push a far-left agenda on children.The tactics used in refusing equal treatment of Christian story hours are unconstitutional, and the ALA knows this. This was the case for Pastor Kendall Lankford of Massachusetts. Lankford, the teaching pastor at The Shepherd's Church, had to endure the cancellation of his story hour, and even local protests, that taught children godly and scientifically based views on gender. The "Pastor Story Hour" he was to host at Chelmsford Public Library read from two books: "God Made Boys and Girls: Helping Children Understand the Gift of Gender," and "Jesus and My Gender." I didn't use the word intersectional or critical race theory, but that's the world we live in," explained Lankford. "Where if you're a boy you have less victim status than a girl. I was trying to show them—it's a good thing that you were made a boy. It's a good thing that you were made a girl. "Every single child in the room got that, it's the adults that are confused," he added.
What happened next to Lankford proved without a doubt the warnings that Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon told Charisma News in an exclusive interview: if you do not affirm these unbiblical, unscientific and destructive social views for children, you will be accused of being a bigot and hateful when standing up for the truth. In an interview with Fox News, Lankford stood by his words when he said drag queens were "adult perverts with a penchant for sexualizing children." With countless videos showing sexual performances at "family friendly drag shows" circulating in social media, his words ring true about the nature of these gatherings that many call grooming sessions for children. "We've gotten to a place in society where we can't even have any meaningful discussions anymore without someone throwing a temper tantrum. The adults have left it seems, and we're in a country full of toddlers—and I don't say that to be inflammatory or mean," Lankford says. "If we're truly a pluralistic society, and we have tolerance for all views then we ought to be able to talk about those views in a meaningful way," he continued.
After going through the process of setting up and getting the story hour approved by the library, Lankford received an email the day before he was scheduled to host the reading saying it was cancelled. The email stated it was for "violations of the library's meeting room and acceptable behavior policies," because they accused Lankford of "proselytizing." When Lankford found out about this, he retained the Massachusetts Family institute (MFI) who offered their services when they heard about the protests stemming from the reading.
In less than four hours, and a discussion between library directors and a Chelmsford attorney, the event was back on. Just like that. Using some discernment one can see that the library got caught infringing on a pastor's Constitutional rights and the attorney warned them that they would pay big in a court of law. Lankford is thankful that the event took place without a hitch and had an excellent showing with around 30 children and 50-60 parents attending the reading. The pastor believes in the importance of standing up to the lessons being pushed on children today and that Christians need to be out in the public square sharing the gospel of Christ.
