Comer on Biden Case: We Want Bank Records, Suspicious Activity Reports, Tax Records
|

House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer said he'll follow the Biden family money trail as part of the investigation into classified documents found at Joe Biden's Wilmington home where Hunter Biden lived for a few years.
As The Washington Free Beacon reported: "According to government documents stored on his personal computer, Hunter Biden lived in 2018 and 2019 at the Wilmington, Del., home where his father had classified materials stored in the garage. It is unclear precisely when the documents were put in the garage or when Hunter Biden began living at the residence, but in May 2018 the president's scandal-plagued son was issued a Delaware driver's license listing his father’s home as his primary residence."
Other reports say Hunter Biden paid almost $50,000 a month to live at his father's house.

Gov. Kristi Noem bans state from doing business with companies tied to 'evil foreign governments'
|
|
Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) signed an executive order Friday that forbids state business with telecommunications companies with ties to "evil foreign governments."
The forbidden governments include those of China, North Korea, Iran, Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela.
The order, effective Jan. 25, cites the countries as having "engaged in increasingly aggressive cyber attacks on United States assets, including Iranian financially motivated ransomware operations, Russian phishing attempts, Chinese targeted extractions of corporate data, and cyber attacks on crucial ports."
“It is critical that we protect South Dakotans from evil foreign governments,” Noem said in a press release. “This order ensures that these countries cannot leverage telecommunications or state contract procurements to gain access to crucial state infrastructure and data,” she added. Abbott Labs Being Investigated Over Baby Formula, Company Says
|
|
A major baby formula company is being investigated by U.S. authorities for possible criminal conduct related to the formula, according to the company.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is probing the matter, a spokesperson told news outlets. “DOJ has informed us of its investigation and we’re cooperating fully,” the spokesperson said.
Abbott did not respond to a request for more information.
The DOJ did not return an inquiry.
Abbott, one of the largest baby formula manufacturers in the country, issued a voluntary recall in February 2022 after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned Americans not to use some products made at one of the company’s plants in Sturgis, Michigan. An investigation uncovered unsanitary conditions there following a whistleblower complaint.
Dr. Robert Califf, the Food and Drug Administration commissioner, said during a congressional hearing that the investigation results “were shocking,” describing conditions he said were “egregiously unsanitary.”
Regulators discovered the presence of Cronobacter sakazakii, a bacteria that can contaminate dry products like infant formula powder, at the facility. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention opened a probe into multiple cases, including several deaths, potentially linked to the contamination. Authorities said they were unable to find a definitive connection between the illnesses and Abbott’s products. Abbott has said that none of the formula it distributed tested positive for Cronobacter.
The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938 prohibits “adulterated food,” or food that “contains any poisonous or deleterious substance which may render it injurious to health,” with some exceptions. 1. World Court says it has received UN request for opinion on Israel 'occupation' - Jerusalem Post
The International Court of Justice on Friday confirmed it had officially received a request from the United Nations General Assembly to give an advisory opinion on the legal consequences of Israel's "occupation" of the Palestinian territories in the West Bank.
The ICJ is expected to draw up a list of states and organizations that will be able to file written statements, but the press release gave no further information about a timeline for that process.
In previous advisory opinions the court also scheduled hearings but it is likely to take at least several months before they can be scheduled. (Read more)

2. Far-right ministers set to skip Sunday cabinet meeting to protest outpost eviction - Times of Israel
Ministers from the far-right Religious Zionism party are expected to boycott Sunday’s cabinet meeting in protest of the evacuation of an illegal outpost set up early Friday in the West Bank, according to a Saturday report.
Sources in Religious Zionism were cited by Channel 12 news as saying the party was looking into additional steps to protest what party leader Bezalel Smotrich has called a violation of coalition agreements.
Smotrich was referring to the evacuationof the Or Chaim outpost on Friday that was ordered by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, despite Smotrich’s stated objection. (Read more)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday fired a senior government minister, after the Supreme Court ruled last week that the minister’s appointment was invalid.
At the end of the government’s weekly cabinet meeting Sunday, Netanyahu fired Shas party chairman Aryeh Deri, ending his service both as Health Minister and Interior Minister.
Netanyahu lamented the move, saying the court’s ruling left him no choice.
“It is with a heavy heart, much regret, and the most terrible feeling, to end your tenure as a government minister,” Netanyahu said, reading from his letter to Deri. (Read more)

i24 News – Israel’s Ambassador to Canada Ronen Hoffman announced his resignation on Sunday, citing his disagreement with the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
Hoffman was appointed by Netanyahu predecessor, centrist Yair Lapid, with whose Yesh Atid party he was elected to parliament in 2013.
“With the transition to the new government and to different policy in Israel, my personal and professional integrity has compelled me to request to shorten my post and return to Israel this summer,” he wrote on Twitter. RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia will not normalize ties with Israel in the absence of a two-state solution with the Palestinians, the kingdom’s top diplomat has said, according to a tweet by the foreign ministry on Friday.
The comments by Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos came as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed normalization with Saudi Arabia in talks with White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Jerusalem on Thursday.
“True normalization and true stability will only come through… giving the Palestinians a state,” Prince Faisal told Bloomberg at the summit. (Read more)

1. Congressman Greg Steube moved out of ICU after 25-foot fall - CBS News
Republican Congressman Greg Steube has been moved out of intensive care, after sustaining serious injuries from a 25-foot fall earlier this week.
The Florida representative's Twitter account confirmed he was moved out of the ICU Thursday and remains hospitalized. Steube, according to his Twitter account, was hospitalized with "several serious" but not life-threatening injuries Wednesday after he was "knocked approximately 25 feet down off a ladder while cutting tree limbs on his Sarasota property."
"The Steube family is grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and prayers," the congressman's Twitter account posted Thursday. "Rep. Steube was moved out of the ICU this afternoon. He remains hospitalized under the care of a great team."
Steube, 44, has served in Congress since 2019. A veteran who served in Iraq, he now sits on the House Judiciary Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee. According to his biography, Steube lives in Sarasota with his wife, son and their four rescue dogs.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy spoke with Steube and his wife Thursday, and said he informed Steube that he's been assigned to serve on the House's new select subcommittee on the "weaponization of the federal government" established last week. McCarthy also said that Steube was in "good spirits" and "eager to get back to work."
Steube's office has not disclosed the types of injuries he sustained, or doctors' prognosis on his recovery. (Read more)

Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) and 88 other House Republicans introduced legislation on Friday that would block and defund President Joe Biden’s pro-abortion executive orders, Breitbart News has learned exclusively. Clyde introduced the Protect the UNBORN (Undo the Negligent Biden Orders Right Now) Act, a bill that he introduced last congressional term and has now reintroduced, as Republicans could likely pass the bill through the House.
The Georgia conservative introduced the legislation on Friday, the day of the 2023 March for Life, in which pro-life activists will no longer march to the Supreme Court, but rather to Congress, where they will urge lawmakers to enact pro-life legislation. Many conservative and pro-life groups, such as Heritage Action, Family Research Council, and Catholic Vote, support Clyde’s legislation.
The legislation aims to defund and block the implementation of many abortion executive orders Biden carried out in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling striking down Roe v. Wade. Biden’s executive orders instructed the Departments of Justice (DOJ) and Health and Human Services (HHS) to fight efforts to limit women’s ability to access abortion medication or to travel across state lines to access clinical abortion services.
The Protect the UNBORN Act would prevent any federal agency from carrying out Executive Orders 14079 and 14076. (Read more)

3. House Oversight to Probe WH Over Biden Docs, Possible DOJ Collusion - Newsmax
The House Oversight Committee intends to probe the Biden administration's reported plan of concealing the classified documents saga from the American public — including the possible act of colluding with the U.S. Department of Justice on the same matter, according to an exclusive from Breitbart. In the Breitbart report, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the Oversight Committee's new chairman, confirmed that House Republicans will look into a Washington Post report from Wednesday.
The report suggested that the White House and DOJ had previously agreed to obscure President Joe Biden's alleged mishandling of classified documents from public view — at least before CBS News contacted the White House about the first batch of improperly stored sensitive documents at a Washington, D.C., office (the Penn Biden Center). "The Biden White House's secrecy in this matter is alarming," Comer told Breitbart. "Many questions need to be answered, but one thing is certain: oversight is coming."
Amid the White House, DOJ, and National Archives not offering transparency to the media in recent days, there have been whispers of possible collusion among the three entities. However, none of that had any substantive reporting behind it, prior to the Post's story. Comer and Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the new chair of the House Judiciary Committee, have also questioned the timeline provided by the White House — in terms of when the classified documents were recovered at the Penn Biden Center, the Biden family's Delaware home, or acknowledged to the public and media.
"We first learned about the Penn Biden Center classified documents months after they were found in an unsecure closet," Comer told Breitbart. "Then it took the White House weeks to inform the public about the documents found in President Biden's Wilmington [Delaware] garage. And days later, we learned that there were more documents at the Wilmington residence." (Read more)

4. Secret Service Now Says It Has Visitor Logs From Biden Home - Newsmax
The Secret Service now acknowledges that it has records on who visited President Joe Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware, when classified documents were kept there. The New York Post reported that Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Thursday that "the Secret Service does generate law enforcement and criminal justice information records for various individuals who may come into contact with Secret Service protected sites." Guglielmi on Monday said the Secret Service doesn't "independently maintain our own visitor logs because it's a private residence."
According to The New York Times, he had also said: "The Secret Service doesn't maintain visitor logs at the private residences of protectees. The visitor logs that are kept at government buildings are part of the National Archives and Records Administration, and while we have access to those, we are not the custodian of those records and logs."
Congressional Republicans asked for the logs after learning that confidential documents were found at Biden's home. Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, demanded Sunday that the White House turn over visitor logs, according to The New York Times. "It is troubling that classified documents have been improperly stored at the home of President Biden for at least six years, raising questions about who may have reviewed or had access to classified information," Comer wrote. 5. Joe Biden Quietly Removed Tax Returns from his Website, and We Have Questions - PJ Media
Update: At some point on Tuesday afternoon, the missing files were restored to Biden’s website. These files were only uploaded on Tuesday, as one can see by hovering over the links where the files are located.

In the wake of accusations that Joe Biden may have failed to report thousands of dollars in rental income on his taxes, it has been discovered that Joe Biden’s campaign surreptitiously removed some of his tax returns from its website.
As PJ Media previously reported, Hunter Biden claimed on a background check form to have paid his dad $49,910 a month in rent — a suspiciously high figure given the value of the home — while he was living at Joe’s Wilmington, Del., home from March 2017 to February 2018 following his divorce — the same house where Biden stashed classified documents in his garage next to his prized Corvette.
However, according to the Schedule E portion of his 2017 tax forms, Joe Biden reported $19,800 in “rents received” and none in 2018. This discrepancy could mean that Joe Biden failed to report more than half a million in income on his taxes. (Read more)

6. DOJ search of Biden's Wilmington home tuns up more classified documents - Washington Examiner
Justice Department officials conducting a search of President Joe Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware on Friday uncovered an additional six classified documents on the premises, the president's lawyer said Saturday evening.
The search, which took over 12 hours to complete, resulted in authorities seizing "materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President," Bob Bauer, the president's personal attorney, said in a statement.
Richard Sauber, who serves as White House special counsel, released a separate statement Saturday stating that the president and First Lady Jill Biden were not present on the property for the search.
The six items now join the other classified government materials uncovered at Biden's Wilmington residence and his think tank's Washington, D.C., office. (Read more)

7. Top LGBT activist confirms at WEF that group ‘worked really closely with Hollywood’ - LIFESITE News
Speaking at this week’s World Economic Forum (WEF) gathering, Sarah Kate Ellis, the CEO of the LGBT powerhouse advocacy group GLAAD, explained that her organization aims to “infiltrate” media and has “worked really closely with Hollywood” on “normalizing LGBT folks, including us in all stories.”
Ellis’ shocking admission came during a panel discussion titled, “Beyond the Rainbow: Advancing LGBTQI+ Rights.” LifeSiteNews’ Andreas Wailzer, who has been covering the controversial Davos, Switzerland confab, tweeted a video clip of Ellis, noting, “Hollywood LGBT indoctrination confirmed: CEO of GLAAD (pro-LGBT media monitoring group) Sarah Kate Ellis says that ‘we have worked really close with Hollywood’ in including ‘LGBT folks’ ‘in all stories.’
Earlier in the discussion Ellis talked about how her group strategizes to “infiltrate or work with media corporations who put information out.”
GLAAD describes itself as “the world’s largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization.” It seeks to change cultures to be fully accepting of homosexuality, same-sex marriage, sexual promiscuity, and transgenderism, including for children. While Ellis’ admission may be shocking to some, the strategies that GLAAD employs have never been a secret and were in fact laid out long ago in a gay manifesto published in 1989. (Read more)

8. Davos: Foreign Minister Of Slovenia Demands That Nations "Respect The Rules Of The World Order" - Zero Hedge
Foreign minister of Slovenija, Tanja Fajon, signals her submission to the globalist agenda with a declaration (or demand) that sovereign nations must "respect" the international rules of the "world order". Fajon is leader of the Social Democrats, part of the Party of European Socialists and a former member of the European Parliament from Slovenia. Fajon was slated for a discussion on "global fragmentation", which seems to be the underlying theme of the event in 2023.
Globalists have hinted in multiple panels about their frustrations with national governments breaking from key agendas of the WEF, including global pandemic response, the war in Ukraine and climate change.

In a tweet today, Fajon also called for greater inclusion of more corporate actors rather than just governments into WEF initiatives.
The tone of Davos has so far been decidedly morose, with many in attendance lamenting the outcomes of global pandemic measures and the lack of unification on climate change. What they do not mention, at least not directly, is that much of this is due to mass public resistance in many regions. It would seem that the establishment made assumptions about their progress in 2022 that did not come to fruition. (Read more)

9. 'Kamikaze' drones attack US, coalition forces at Syria outpost; no Americans injured - Fox News
Three one-way drones, sometimes called "kamikaze" drones, targeted a U.S. garrison at an outpost in Syria’s Al-Tanf region U.S. Central Command said Friday, noting that no Americans were injured in the attack.
Two members of the Syrian Free Army received medical attention after they were injured in the strike when one of the drones hit the compound.
The other two drones were shot down by Coalition Forces, the U.S. military confirmed.
"Attacks of this kind are unacceptable – they place our troops and our partners at risk and jeopardize the fight against ISIS," CENTCOM spokesperson Joe Buccino said in a statement.
It is unclear how many soldiers were at the outpost at the time of the attack, though some 900 U.S. forces are stationed in Syria aiding Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Officials did not identify who was responsible for the strike Friday, though Iran-backed forces in the region and ISIS have been known to carry out similar attacks in the past.
The attack came two days after U.S. and coalition forces carried out a helicopter assault on an ISIS stronghold in Syria and captured an extremist involved in recruitment for the terrorist organization. No civilians were injured or killed in the operation and neither U.S. nor allied forces sustained any injuries in the Wednesday assault. (Read more)

10. China says Covid outbreak has infected 80% of population - CNBC
The possibility of a big Covid-19 rebound in China over the next two or three months is remote as 80% of people have been infected, a prominent government scientist said on Saturday.
The mass movement of people during the ongoing Lunar New Year holiday period may spread the pandemic, boosting infections in some areas, but a second Covid wave is unlikely in the near term, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist at the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said on the Weibo social media platform.
Hundreds of millions of Chinese are traveling across the country for holiday reunions that had been suspended under recently eased Covid curbs, raising fears of fresh outbreaks in rural areas less equipped to manage large outbreaks.
China has passed the peak of Covid patients in fever clinics, emergency rooms and with critical conditions, a National Health Commission official said on Thursday.
Nearly 60,000 people with Covid had died in hospital as of Jan. 12, roughly a month after China abruptly dismantled its zero-Covid policy, according to government data.
But some experts said that figure probably vastly undercounts the full impact, as it excludes those who die at home, and because many doctors have said they are discouraged from citing Covid as a cause of death. (Read more)

Green Comet Tracker: C/2022 E3 (ZTF) Location and Viewing Tips

A green comet is speeding toward the inner solar system—and you can track its progress with a handy tool.
The comet known as C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will soon fly past the Earth, coming as close as around 26 million miles to our planet on February 1, by which point it may just about be visible to the naked eye.
Comets are astronomical objects made up of frozen gases, dust and rock that orbit the sun. Sometimes referred to as "cosmic snowballs," these objects are blasted with increasing amounts of radiation as they approach our star, releasing gases and debris.
This process forms a glowing atmosphere around the comet, known as a coma—which, in the case of C/2022 E3 (ZTF), appears green—and two vast tails of gas and dust.
Once the comet has sped past the Earth, it will exit the inner solar system, perhaps never to return. Read More

Lazarus Yeghnazar, founder of Transform Iran, an organization preaching the Gospel to Iran and planting churches, told CBN’s Faithwire many Iranians find themselves enraptured by Christ following these apparitions. “They cannot stop talking about it. Hence the severe persecution, the severity of the brutality,” Yeghnazar said of the persecution many Iranian Christians face. “[Believers will say], ‘I saw a vision of a man with a white robe, with a cross on his shoulder or on his heart, and he says, ‘I’m Jesus.'”
While many believers in the West might meet Jesus as the result of others sharing the Gospel, dreams and visions are sometimes the touchpoints in Iran that spark life-change and heart transformation. Yeghnazar pointed to Scripture to show how God has used visions to communicate with humanity in the past and explained why Iranians might be having this spiritual experience today. “In the Middle East, people see visions,” he said. “In the Western understanding, we want everything to be tangible, verifiable, accountable.” But he said the dynamic is quite different in the Middle East, where these experiences deeply resonate with those who have them. “In Iran, people see a vision — they will wake up sweating and shaking,” Yeghnazar said.
