The month of January has brought a focus on the protection of life for many years. This coming Sunday, January 22, is Sanctity of Life Sunday. Putin ally Medvedev warns NATO of nuclear war if Russia defeated in Ukraine
|
|
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, an ally of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, warned the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Thursday that the defeat of Russia in Ukraine could trigger a nuclear war.
"The defeat of a nuclear power in a conventional war may trigger a nuclear war," Medvedev, who serves as deputy chairman of Putin's powerful security council, said in a post on Telegram.
"Nuclear powers have never lost major conflicts on which their fate depends," said Medvedev, who served as president from 2008 to 2012.
Medvedev said NATO and other defense leaders, due to meet at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Friday to talk about strategy and support for the West's attempt to defeat Russia in Ukraine, should think about the risks of their policy. (Jerusalem Post) Read more here.

China Gives Authoritarian New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern a Warm Goodbye

The Chinese government newspaper Global Times celebrated radical leftist New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern as a “politician who truly understands international politics” on Thursday following her announcement she would resign next month.
While the Chinese Foreign Ministry abstained from remarking on Ardern’s departure as head of government – aside from declaring Beijing “ready to work with New Zealand” generally – the Global Times cited regime-approved alleged “experts” who applauded Ardern for her efforts to bring her country deeper into Chinese Communist Party influence and weaken ties to America and the greater West.
Ardern’s tenure was marked by extreme government repression, particularly the use of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic to ban New Zealanders abroad from entering their country and onerous lockdowns and mandates in violation of citizens’ civil rights. (Breitbart) Read more here.

New Supreme Court Report Fails to Identify Leaker of Roe v. Wade Draft Opinion

The Supreme Court released a report stating that, after a months-long internal investigation, the leaker of a draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade last year couldn’t be identified.
The leak shattered the image of the Supreme Court, which has long prided itself on maintaining proper decorum and on keeping as confidential the deliberations of the justices in cases argued before the court.
The day after the leak, Chief Justice John Roberts said there would be an investigation.
“To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed,” he said at the time. “The work of the Court will not be affected in any way.”
But despite his assurances, the unprecedented leak reportedly caused internal disruptions at the court and changed the atmosphere behind-the-scenes while giving rise to rampant speculation about the motives of the leaker or leakers.
Some said the leak was intended to generate a public backlash that would intimidate the conservative justices into leaving Roe intact, while others speculated that it was calculated to pressure the conservative justices, who had already signaled a willingness to reverse Roe, to stay the course and actually do it. This year marks the 50th year that people from around the world have gathered in solidarity to march for life in Washington, D.C. I have marched since the turn of this century almost every year. As we return to Washington, D.C., for the March for Life, let us remember that we are marching from victory to victory. We have overcome for life because Christ has overcome.
My uncle, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., once said that "the negro cannot win if he is willing to sacrifice the futures of his children for personal comfort and safety." All too many children are dying for so many reasons today. One of the foremost issues and reasons is death by abortion.
According to the most recent data from the Guttmacher Institute, an estimated 930,160 abortions were performed in 2020, which is a 1.5% increase from their 2019 estimate. Of those 930,160 abortions, approximately 39% were performed on Black women, for a rate of 24.4 abortions per 1,000 Black women. This means that approximately 362,762 Black babies were aborted in the year 2020 alone. When this enormity is broken down, it means that Black babies in the womb are aborted nearly 1,000 times per day, 41 times per hour, and once almost every two minutes.
This travesty is exactly what my uncle meant when he said that Black America could not sacrifice our future children for our own comfort and safety. By these numbers, one million Black babies are aborted every three years. These are entire generations of Black babies who have been snuffed out before they were even able to see the light of day. Wade has been turned, now may hearts across this nation follow suit and turn to love and life. Father, 95% of the population believe in some form of restrictions on abortions, we bind the voice of the 5% that call for complete destruction, in Jesus name. May their voices fail and their moneyed plots disintegrate, in Jesus name, so that life has hope and hearts turn to family, for the glory of God in this earth. Amen.

2. 'Illegal and Dangerous': 22 State Attorneys General Urge the FDA to End Its New Abortion Pill Rule - LIFESITE NEWS
Attorneys General from 22 states sent a letter late last week to Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf demanding an end to the agency's new abortion pill rules allowing women to obtain abortion pills over the counter.
The letter, whose signers include the Attorneys General of Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Wyoming, was sent to Califf last Friday.
"The Food and Drug Administration's decision to abandon commonsense restrictions on remotely prescribing and administering abortion-inducing drugs is both illegal and dangerous," the letter states. "In direct contravention of longstanding FDA practice and congressional mandate, the FDA's rollback of important safety restrictions ignores both women's health and straightforward federal statutes. - Father, this is a shocking disregard of everything that has been considered wisdom to "do no harm" within the medical community. For the FDA to allow this to move forward and these pharmacies to willingly participate in such life-threatening medication to be obtained over-the-counter is wicked. Holy King, we command this action to cease and desist in the name of Jesus and we bind and rebuke those who are pushing "convenience" over health, life and safety. 3. House GOP Introduces Bill to Stop Government from Colluding With Big Tech to Censor Free Speech - CNS News.com
Several House Republicans introduced a bill on Jan. 13 that would prohibit federal workers from using their position to advocate for censoring free speech expressed on social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, and on other outlets.
The Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act would amend existing law "to prohibit Federal employees from advocating for censorship of viewpoints in their official capacity, and for other purposes," reads the legislation.
The bill was introduced by House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-KY), and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
"Actions taken by the Biden administration to pressure Big Tech to censor content online are an attack on our fundamental right to free speech," said McMorris Rodgers in a statement. "For months, I have repeatedly condemned efforts by radical progressives in the Biden administration to silence Americans and manipulate the truth."
"This commonsense legislation will prohibit federal employees from engaging in political activities while working in their official capacities and restrict senior federal officials from censoring Americans," she said. (Read more here)

4. Election Integrity Watchdog Finds 10.9 Million 2022 Midterm Mail-In Ballots ‘Unaccounted For’ in California - Epoch Times
An election integrity group said 10.9 million out of a total 22.1 million ballots that had been mailed out to registered voters during the 2022 midterm elections went “unaccounted for,” according to a Jan. 18 report. “Mail voting practices have an insurmountable information gap,” the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) said on Monday. “The public cannot know how many ballots were disregarded, delivered to wrong mailboxes, or even withheld from the proper recipient by someone at the same address.”
The watchdog released the two-page report (pdf) detailing what it called “the failures” of California’s first mass-mail balloting election following the passage of Assembly Bill 37 (AB 37), which requires that ballots automatically be mailed to all active registered voters statewide. The bill, signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom in September 2021, makes vote-by-mail ballots, a practice implemented in the 2020 general election in conjunction with the COVID-19 pandemic, permanent for all elections.
California has more registered voters than any other state. Yet its vote-by-mail policies—among the nation’s most expansive—have resulted in large numbers of ballots “disappearing at poll closing time,” PILF’s data show. “After accounting for polling place votes and rejected ballots in November 2022, there were more than 10 million ballots left outstanding, meaning election officials do not know what happened to them,” reads the Wednesday report. “It is fair to assume that the bulk of these were ignored or ultimately thrown out by the intended recipients. But, under mass-mail elections, we can only assume what happened,” it continued. (Read more)

Lord, You are neither the author of confusion or chaos, nor are you the author of deception or stupidity. We pray You would cause those in CA who love the truth and desire honest elections to rise up and demand election protocols and procedures that are simple, fair and orderly, allowing for accurate voting results within a short period of time following the election. 5. US Coast Guard tracking suspected Russian spy ship off coast of Hawaii in international waters - CNN
The US Coast Guard says it is tracking a suspected Russian spy ship off the coast of Hawaii in international waters as heightened tensions between Washington and Moscow remain over Russian's war in Ukraine.
"In recent weeks, the U.S. Coast Guard has continued to monitor a Russian vessel, believed to be an intelligence gathering ship, off the coast of the Hawaiian Islands," the USCG said in a news release.
The Coast Guard noted the situation is not unusual but that it is tracking it closely. "While foreign military vessels may transit freely through the U.S. economic exclusive zone (EEZ), as per customary international laws, foreign-flagged military vessels have often been observed operating and loitering within Coast Guard District Fourteen's area of response," the release stated.
The USCG said in the release that it "continues to coordinate with Department of Defense partners, providing updates to foreign vessel movements and activities and to appropriately meet presence with presence to encourage international maritime norms." (Read more)
