School district pays $450K to settle with teacher forced to resign for not using trans pronouns
|
|
An Ohio school district has agreed to pay $450,000 as part of a settlement with a teacher who was forced to resign for declining to affirm the “social transitions” of students seeking to identify as the opposite sex. In a statement published Wednesday, the Alliance Defending Freedom announced that Jackson Local School District in Jackson Township had agreed to pay $450,000 in attorneys’ fees and damages to former teacher Vivian Geraghty after a federal judge determined that the school district had violated Geraghty’s First Amendment rights by forcing her to resign for declining to use a trans-identified student’s preferred name and pronouns.
“No school official can force a teacher to set her religious beliefs aside in order to keep her job,” said ADF Legal Counsel Logan Spena in the statement shared with The Christian Post. “The school tried to force Vivian to accept and repeat the school’s viewpoint on issues that go to the foundation of morality and human identity, like what makes us male or female, by ordering her to personally participate in the social transition of her students. The First Amendment prohibits that abuse of power, and Jackson Local School District officials have learned that comes at a steep cost." Suspect identified as FBI investigates act of terrorism after Bourbon Street attack

FBI believes New Orleans attacker not 'solely responsible' for deadly onslaught
|
|
|
New Orleans FBI agent Alethea Duncan held a press conference about the attack on Bourbon Street on Wednesday, hours after a suspect killed 10 people in a popular New Orleans tourist spot.
During the presser, Duncan confirmed that the FBI is still investigating the suspect, Shamsud Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old man from Texas.
"We are working to confirm how he came in possession of this vehicle," Duncan said. "An ISIS flag was located on the trailer hitch of the vehicle, and the FBI is working to determine the subject's potential associations and affiliation to the terrorist organization."
"Weapons and potential improvised explosive devices IED were located in the subject's vehicle."
The special agent also noted that the FBI does not believe Din Jabbar was "solely responsible" for the act of terrorism.
"We aggressively running down every lead, including those of his known associates," Duncan added. "That's why we need the public's help."
Jabbar — who died at the scene of the attack — was born in the U.S. and lived in Texas, FBI Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge Alethea Duncan said at a Wednesday afternoon press conference. The FBI also revealed that Jabbar was an Army veteran. (Fox News Digital)

Bourbon Street attack on New Year's revelers just the latest case of terrorists using trucks to kill

The deadly ramming attack on New Year's revelers in New Orleans is unfortunately not the only time suspected terrorists used trucks to kill.
The Bourbon Street bloodshed comes just weeks after a Saudi Arabia-born doctor allegedly rammed a car into a crowded Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, on Dec. 20, killing five people, including a 9-year-old boy. More than 200 others were injured. In recent years, other car ramming incidents have unfolded during crowded events in Nice, France; Waukesha, Wisconsin; and New York City, as one ex-Trump Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official warns of the vulnerability of "soft targets."
"Car ramming, or ‘vehicle as a weapon’ attacks, are highly effective. With this attack on the heels of the deadly events at the Christmas market in Germany, we should all be mindful while attending and enjoying mass gathering events," Brian Harrell, a former assistant secretary at DHS under the first Trump administration, told Fox News Digital. "Soft targets and crowded places will always be desirable for terrorists given the potential loss of life."
"In the first Trump administration, we recognized that vehicle as a weapon was a true threat that needed to be mitigated," Harrell added. "The challenge in securing public venues, or ‘soft targets,’ is that the open nature of these locations makes them vulnerable to attacks. Bad-actors target places where individuals of all backgrounds should be able to assemble safely, freely, and without fear of harm. Such violence has no place in our society."

The FBI is investigating an "act of terrorism" Wednesday, and the White House has been briefed after authorities say a suspect rammed a truck into crowds on Bourbon Street, killing at least 10 and injuring dozens of others. A high-level source at the New Orleans Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital the now-deceased suspect was Shamsud Din Jabbar. He was killed after opening fire on police.
Jabbar was carrying a Glock and a .308 rifle – equipped with optics and a suppressor – that had been reported stolen in New Jersey, the source said. The source added that there are at least four to five other suspects involved.
Two officers were shot. A source confirmed to Fox News Digital that law enforcement found explosive devices on Bourbon Street that are apparently viable. (Fox News) Read more

Jesus, You know the beginning from the end. We ask You to download the information needed for Your intercessors to pray these attacks away before they happen. We ask You to release Your warrior angels to fight these battles in the heavenlies as we pray. We ask this in the name Jehovah Rohi, The Lord Our Shepherd.

A top Hamas commander responsible for the heinous Oct. 7 attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz has been killed by a targeted drone strike, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) announced.
Abd al-Hadi Sabah, who led the infiltration into Kibbutz Nir Oz, which ravaged the community near the Gaza border on Oct. 7, was killed on Tuesday local time in the Western Khan Yunis Battalion.
The IDF said in a release on social media Tuesday that they conducted the intelligence-based strike alongside the Israeli Security Agency (ISA).
The agencies said that Sabah was hiding in a shelter in the designated humanitarian area in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza.

We ask for justice for every person hurt physically or emotionally and for the families of those still being held and those who lost their lives.
We ask Holy Spirit to move on all whose hearts stand against Your people Israel, make them very aware of how You see them and their hearts. Jesus, we ask that You will move in might and power, pour the fear of You into the hearts of those still holding hostages, let their hearts melt within them, move them to release all Your kids still being held. 1. Netanyahu: Fighting will resume after hostage deal - JNS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a recent closed meeting about the hostages that fighting in Gaza would resume following any ceasefire agreement with Hamas, according to a report on Monday on Channel 12‘s website.
“If there is a deal—and I hope there will be—Israel will return to fighting afterward. There’s no reason to obscure or conceal this because resuming fighting is intended to complete the war’s objectives. This doesn’t obstruct a deal; it encourages one,” the news outlet quoted the premier as saying.
The Prime Minister’s Office declined to comment on the report, which also claimed that some negotiators have expressed concern over Netanyahu’s stance, because Hamas demands international guarantees for the later stages of an agreement. The terrorist group has previously insisted on an end to the war and the full withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
Jerusalem’s three war goals are to eradicate Hamas as a military and political body, bring all of the hostages home and prevent Gaza from re-emerging as a security threat to Israel in the future. (Read more)

2. Hamas said willing to free only 22 of 34 living hostages demanded by Israel in deal -Times of Israel
Palestinian terror group Hamas has partially rejected a list of hostages that Israel insists must be released in the first phase of any ceasefire deal, according to a Monday report.
Kan news, citing an unnamed Palestinian source, said Hamas is willing to release 22 of the 34 hostages on the list, but is refusing to agree to the release of the other 12. Instead, the report stated, the group offered to release 22 living hostages and 12 bodies during the first phase of a potential deal.
Israel turned down the notion and made it clear that it would only accept living hostages during the initial stage of a deal, the report added. (Read more)

3. Hamas forces are making a substantial comeback in the Gaza Strip - Jerusalem Post
Both The Jerusalem Post and Channel 12 have received information indicating that Hamas is making a substantial comeback by recruiting new forces.
Along with Islamic Jihad together, Channel 12 said on Wednesday night that Hamas was up to between 20,000-23,000 fighters.
The latest numbers publicized were that the IDF has killed between 17,000-20,000 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists over the course of the war.
There has been a gulf of a few thousand between the IDF and Netanyahu throughout the war, drawing some of the estimates into question. (Read more)

4. Israeli commandos destroyed missile factory in Syria in just 20 minutes - World Israel News
Israel is taking responsibility for a complex commando mission to destroy an advanced missile-producing facility in Syria in September, Ynet reports.
IAF’s Shaldag Unit and Unit 669 targeted a facility in Masyaf, Syria, built to surface-to-surface missiles with Iranian technology intended for the Syrian army and Hezbollah.
The Iran-funded Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center (CERS) developed a facility using planetary mixers, which combine components into a homogeneous compound for solid rocket fuel production.
The planetary mixer technology can make missile production more covert and less detectable by intelligence and surveillance. (Read more)

5. Israel issues 'final warning' to Houthis at UN Security Council meeting - Israel Hayom
Israel's UN ambassador issued what he described as a final warning to Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis on Monday, cautioning that they could face severe consequences similar to other regional actors if they continue their missile attacks against Israel, according to Reuters.
Ambassador Danny Danon, addressing the UN Security Council, emphasized Israel's capacity to strike any target in the Middle East, including Iran. However, within hours of his warning, the IDF intercepted a missile fired from Yemen over Israeli territory, triggering warning sirens across the country.
Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson, announced on Tuesday that the group had targeted Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv and a power station south of Jerusalem using hypersonic and Zulfiqar ballistic missiles. Following the Israeli military's announcement of the interception, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, who heads the Houthis' supreme revolutionary committee, declared their attacks would continue, stating on X: "The pounding of the entity [Israel] continues and the support to Gaza continues." Costco has urged its shareholders to vote against the push to limit the major retailer’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) after receiving a proposal about striking “discriminatory practices.” The National Center for Public Policy Research requested that Costco publish a report about the risks the company could face by maintaining its current DEI policies, according to The Hill.
“It’s clear that DEI holds litigation, reputational and financial risks to the Company, and therefore financial risks to shareholders,” the proposal stated.
“And yet Costco still has such a program, though it was apprehensive enough to recognize this as it recently and quietly rebranded its DEI program to ‘People and Communities.’ But sticking a new label on discriminatory practices does not protect Costco and its shareholders from these risks,” the proposal continued. 2. Researchers Funded by Bill Gates Turn Mosquitoes into ‘Flying Syringes’ to Deliver Vaccines - Breitbart
Researchers at Leiden University Medical Center, backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, have developed a new method of delivering malaria vaccines using genetically modified mosquitoes as “flying vaccinators.”
The Blaze reports that in a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, scientists have demonstrated the effectiveness of using mosquitoes as “flying syringes” to vaccinate humans against malaria. The research, conducted at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in the Netherlands with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, represents a new and potentially worrying advancement in vaccine technology.
The study involved genetically modifying malaria parasites to stop developing after a certain period of time in the human body. The modified parasites, named GA1 and GA2, were designed to prime the immune system without causing a full-blown malaria infection. Researchers then infected mosquitoes with these engineered parasites and allowed them to bite human test subjects in a controlled setting. (Read more)

3. CIA whistleblower speaks out on mysterious illness striking US personnel at foreign embassies - DML News
Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge released a must-see report Tuesday, with details on the mysterious illnesses which have befallen many U.S. intelligence, military and State Department personnel stationed at multiple foreign embassies, including Cuba, China, and several locations in Europe.
The mysterious illness, called the Havana syndrome, started happening in 2016, and has left U.S. personnel with severe headaches, dizziness, cognitive problems, balance issues, blurred vision and insomnia. The symptoms have lasted for months, and have affected an estimated 1,700 U.S. government personnel.
Many victims reported hearing a loud noise, or experiencing vibration or pressure, and then experiencing the debilitating symptoms.
Despite multiple investigations, the source of the mysterious illnesses has still not been found, and many victims feel the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is covering it up and shoving it all under the rug. In a video announcement last week, Herridge said the CIA is guilty of “government gaslighting” against injured personnel. (Read more)

4. China's President Xi warns 'no one can stop' unification with Taiwan in chilling New Year's Eve threat - Daily Mail
Beijing claims the self-ruled island as part of its territory, and has said it will not renounce the use of force to bring it under its control.
China has intensified pressure on the democratic island in recent years, and has staged three rounds of major military drills since President Lai Ching-te came to power in May.
The last of these earlier this month were the largest in years according to Taiwanese officials, although Beijing has not officially confirmed the manoeuvres.
‘Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are one family. No one can sever our blood ties, and no one can stop the historical trend of the reunification of the motherland,’ Xi said in a speech broadcast on state media. (Read more)

5. Biden sets last-ditch obstacle to ‘Drill, Baby, Drill’ in Nevada mountains - Washington Examiner
With three weeks remaining until President-elect Donald Trump takes office, the Biden administration has made another last-ditch effort to curb the incoming president’s oil and gas agenda by taking steps to protect a Nevada mountain range.
On Monday, the administration announced plans to withdraw roughly 264,000 acres of federal lands in the Ruby Mountains, often referred to as Nevada’s Swiss Alps, from energy development leasing. This would prevent any oil, gas, and geothermal development on these biodiversity-rich federal lands for approximately 20 years. However, mining would still be permitted. The withdrawal would not affect recreational activities.
The ban is not yet in effect, as the Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service only just submitted its withdrawal request and application to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland. On Monday, the Interior Department approved the application, initiating its consideration of the 20-year withdrawal. (Read more)

A Prophetic People in a New Year

As 2025 begins, be encouraged that you are a prophetic person. You are living in prophetic times. Your destiny is before you. As a disciple of Christ Jesus, you are a light to the world. As declared by Peter in 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” Peter wrote that our conversations were to be honest and even when people speak against you as evildoers, your good works will glorify God. Being a prophetic person comes with responsibility. As is written in Romans 12:21, “be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
While there is an incredible sense of spiritual relief as an evil principality was shattered with the November election, a prophetic people will not now rest, but be vigilant as ever. For as Paul writes in Ephesians 6:11-13, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.” Keep in mind that while the principality was shattered it was not completely defeated. US Capitol Struck by Lightning on NYE Seen as God's 'Message' by MAGA

Donald Trump supporters on social media speculated over whether a divine message was being sent after lightning strikes reportedly hit the U.S. Capitol Building and Washington Monument in Washington D.C., and the One World Trade Center and Empire State Building in New York City, on New Year's Eve.
Footage and images shared online purportedly showed all four buildings being struck as revelers gathered across the United States to see in the New Year, with thousands gathering in New York's Times Square for the iconic ball drop despite heavy rain being forecast.

One more thought: it is known by the prophets that the Washington Monument
represents the male organ; and the Capitol Dome is the woman's place of birthing. Could it be that this event on Tuesday night has heralded the beginning of the birth pains we will have to walk through, in order to reach our destiny as a nation? Just a thought!

Newsweek reached out to the Trump International Hotel via email for comment.
Why It Matters
Tesla, a car manufacturer headed by tech billionaire Elon Musk, came out with the Cybertruck in November 2023. A series of recalls and production issues marred the Cybertruck's first year of production. Tesla issued six recalls in the truck's first year, ranging from faulty drive inverters to delayed rearview camera images.
What To Know
The fire occurred in the hotel's valet area and was reported at 8:40 a.m. local time, according to a Clark County spokeswoman, the Associated Press reported.

NASA’s Parker Solar Probe Makes History With Closest Pass to Sun

Operations teams have confirmed NASA’s mission to “touch” the Sun survived its record-breaking closest approach to the solar surface on Dec. 24, 2024.
Breaking its previous record by flying just 3.8 million miles above the surface of the Sun, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe hurtled through the solar atmosphere at a blazing 430,000 miles per hour — faster than any human-made object has ever moved. A beacon tone received late on Dec. 26 confirmed the spacecraft had made it through the encounter safely and is operating normally.
This pass, the first of more to come at this distance, allows the spacecraft to conduct unrivaled scientific measurements with the potential to change our understanding of the Sun.
